see that golf happening? That was your boy on Saturday.
You're playing golf. Oh yeah, I was too busy. I
have time to play golf. I was too busy at
the Nike store. When what was you doing at the
Nike store? Getting them ugly horrible shoes you have on
your feet right now?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
You see those beautiful sneakers. First of all, don't ever
hold your legs up in front of me again.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Okay, you can show your so you can show a
shoe like this, bile.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Okay, look the people see the shoe. I ain't paying
for that.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I did pay for all that. I didn't pay for
those the shoes did pay for your legs. How'd you
like me getting the Nike clerk to get involved?

Speaker 5 (03:23):
And you're lucky.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I haven't had a chance to comment on that yet.
Uh yeah, how much did you pay him?

Speaker 5 (03:27):
Pay him anything? Hey man, I gotta I got a
Buffalo wild Wings gift card. I got a Buffalo while
I got a Ross coupon for you.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
But he was great, wasn't he? Great like anyway, he
was called Robin's called commission. Okay, he was getting a
commission on your self right there.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
He was cool with it.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
It was those are those are dope, man, sho go ahead,
tell the people what you got. For those who will
never see it on our YouTube channel, what you get?

Speaker 5 (03:48):
I got a pair of the Jordan the breeds, very
nice hot leather. Let me see him again.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
The black red, yeah, white? Those are those are the
the or the full shoes. Probably those top five Jordans, definitely,
And uh, anything with red black is always gonna go.

Speaker 5 (04:05):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
By the way, by the way, before we can, I
get back to my golf since you were so Jordan.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
I didn't know you were really playing.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I just thought you, Robgie, stand up so I can
just talk to you, because you care about me golfing
out there, Robbie, because you appreciate that drives you. See
how he interrupted me. I was just trying to He
wanted to bring up his Jordan's. Maybe I had some
Jordans on my feet out there.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
You know, it doesn't go.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
It doesn't get more golfing than Michael Jordan. No, I
had a good day out there. And then of course, uh,
out to my wife, my mom. Everybody Mother's Day was
nice as well.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
So I was gonna say, did you go to the
one hundred dollars brunch per person?

Speaker 7 (04:35):
No?

Speaker 1 (04:35):
We we I found a good middle ground. It was
still really nice in place we'd never been in Pasadena
for the family or No. No, I wish I would
have It'll take coo. I'm a little mad my my
daughters didn't like this big old spaghetti thing they made. Actually,
I was like, there being kids, I taste who this
is this? How can you mess up spaghetti? And they
brought out some buttered noodles, which kids love. Robbie, I'm

(04:55):
sure your daughters love butter nude. Don't know where they started.
And uh, they still charged me twenty eight dollars for
the spaghetti. Usually they come, oh my gosh, they take
it off.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
So I was like, all leave. No, no, I would have
said take that. Shut up.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Rob G in advance before you say something about crazy
about money or something. They always got something to.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Say, Yes, Uh, let's welcome into the yd Couple crew,
because you wouldn't be able to do this fine radio
program without him. Rob G is our producer, Alex is
our engineer. Martin Weiss is at the anchor desk. He'll
keep us updated throughout the program. And never heard of them, Elijah.

Speaker 7 (05:29):
Never heard of them.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Not you, Martin, Mark thought it was about him. No,
that's not you, Martin.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
It's for you, for Elijah, our social media at guru Elijah.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
All right, Elijah, don't clip his shoes, don't put it
up there. Don't forget our number two, the debut.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Of the new Bill Belichick, you told us, okay, stop
looking at me like that.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
That's I know you got some wild stuff up your
sleeves right now. Okay, all right, Uh let's get to it.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
And uh, Rob g can you say at the table,
Yannis he wants out of Milwaukee.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
Apparently that's what they're trying to tell you, bro. That's
that's what they're saying. Is that what's going on?

Speaker 8 (06:08):
Well, it's just funny what qualifies as breaking news these days, because,
according to ESPN Shan Sharania this morning, that is, on
Monday morning, we had a breaking news sounder that Jannis
is not necessarily demanding a trade, or that he's ready
to demand a trade, or that he's even considering a trade.

Speaker 5 (06:27):
Just now open.

Speaker 8 (06:28):
He's now open to the idea if he were to
ask out that he might be open to the idea.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Let's not breaking news, you know what, Rob g In
a real journalism world, that would not make the paper
in the old days.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
It just wouldn't like they just put you gotta have
something that that substantial.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
He's saying he wants out, or the team saying we're
ready to trade.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
We've made not just.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
He's open, or to say teams have fielded calls and
are open to not just like I mean, I'm open
to the idea that you know, maybe kind of sort of,
but there's still something the go ahead.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
I'm gonna say this.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
If I'm the Milwaukee Bucks, I say thank you very
much and I drive you to the airport.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
If I'm the Milwaukee Bucks, I'm dumping Giannis. And because
this ain't what you said ago, I'm telling you why.
Because you're Milwaukee, you're not gonna win. They've done everything
they could do for the guy.

Speaker 5 (07:20):
All right. They wanted Damian Lillard.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
It didn't work out, but they went out and got
and traded away everybody for him. Okay, so they've gone
and done this. This is Milwaukee. They've won a championship.
I can name off the top of my head twenty
NBA teams who would die to have won a championship
in the last four years, right, that would die four
or five years whatever it's been right, including the New

(07:45):
York Knicks who have won a championship since nineteen seventy three.
So I could go on, the Brooklyn Nets who have
never won, and the Utah Jazz who have never won
a horn and all these teams, the bulls who immer
want since Michael Jordan left. I could go on and
on and on, and they would all take it right.
And the idea that you're gonna do anything else, I

(08:07):
don't want anybody who doesn't want to be there. And
what I'm saying is you probably got the best out
of him. You got a championship, he stayed there, you
paid him, you made trade, you did everything you could do.
Now it's time that you have no more drift picks,
you have no young players like this is the time
to rebuild, and you got what you were looking for.

(08:28):
As the Cleveland Cavaliers would they would have loved to
have had a championship four or five years ago, the
answer would be, yes, what do I have to give
up to get me a championship.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
Right.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
You would you would die to have a championship as
the Minnesota Minnesota Timberwolves who had Kevin Garnett, they didn't
win anything, right, you would take it, so be happy
with it, take it.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
And move on.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
That's where I would be, I'm saying if I'm the.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Bucks, right.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
So I know we talked about this a week or
so when the story came out, and you were more
inclined to Gianna stay there.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
Beyond from the Bucks, right, I get what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
For me, I just think this is a perfect example
of what can be a nice clean breakup. And whether
that be professionally, romantically, relationally friends, it hardly ever happens
where it's a nice clean breakup, and to me, that's
exactly what this has the opportunity to be. He's been
there for a decade of plus given it his all.

(09:30):
Literally grew as a man, both in stature and in size,
and as a player came in he was uh, you know,
he was not prepared for the NBA, barely new basketball
had to grow into his body all of a sudden,
became a Donnis and the guy become a better player
two time MVP has won a championship.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
You literally, to me, couldn't draw it better.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
A young man who comes to America, coming to America
the movie, comes with his brother. They come into the franchise.
They helped build up a franchise that helps build up
him and to me, to me, it was a perfect
marriage and it worked. And he has been the antithesis
of trying to group up with everybody, trying to do
it this way, trying to go that way. He just

(10:10):
wanted to do it the right way, stay with, stay
within the organization, helped the organization build and they were
able to do that. And I think it's a perfect
time for a clean split where it doesn't have to be.
He hates the franchise. He talks bad about the franchise,
can never come back. Every time he comes back, he's
booed or where they hate him because he held them
hosts and did this and did that sometimes in life,
in profession, in romance, it's time for a clean break.

(10:34):
We can do it amicably. We can see each other
in the streets still wave, say hello, get a hug,
how's your mom, how's everybody doing? And to me, this
is that he literally got them a championship. They had
had one since seventy one or whatever it was with
Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
Jabbar it was so long ago had a different name exactly.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
Okay, that's how long ago, out sender.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
He got them a ring, got them some relevance, and
got them a couple time. They can say we had
a guy who was an MVP of couple of times
as well. Perfect time to move on and get a haul. Right, Hey, y'all,
I'm telling you now, I'm opening the options. I want
to leave. See what you can get. Here's two, three,
four options I would love to consider. Get the best.
I love the city of Milwaukee, I love the fans.

(11:14):
I want to do right. You guys, do right by me.
Get as many picks, get as many young talent as
you can. And I'm trying to be the new Oklahoma
City Thunder. I'm trying to be the Boston Celtics where
you got two or three guys out of the draft.
It was Marcus Smart, it was obviously Jalen Brown and
Jason Tatum. I'm trying to get the two or three
guys like the Warriors did. Can I get a Clay
Can I get a Draymond. Can I get a.

Speaker 5 (11:33):
Steph and build and build up? I got break? Can
I get a Jamal? Can I get a Jamal Murray
and a Jokic? The build up?

Speaker 3 (11:40):
The Dallas Mavericks will trade Antonio, I mean Anthony Davis
to Milwaukee for Gianni's Will that be a great trade
or not?

Speaker 5 (11:48):
I'm talking about. I'm talking about from the standpoint of.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Like looking on that well, they would literally at this point,
I don't know what your boy would be doing, Nico.
I mean, obviously getting Giannis is better than Ad, but
uh yeah, if I'm a d I got two or
three places I want to go. I want to help
y'all telling you now, get as many picks, get as
many player as you can, so everybody, I win, you win,
We both win, all right?

Speaker 3 (12:09):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Is it time
for Giannis and the and the Bucks to go there?
Separate ways? I say yes, You say yes, yep, but
we have different reasons why We'll continue that conversation next
with you. It is the odd couple right here on
Fox Sports Radio on a Magic City Monday, Rob Parker

(12:30):
Kelvin Washington, and don't forget about the new Bill Belichick
song coming up coming five.

Speaker 8 (12:38):
You're setting the audience up to be disappointed.

Speaker 5 (12:39):
I can say, no, stop it, No, it's not Rob G.
Did you hear it? I have heard it is that.
That was his review. Gee, how could you do that
to me?

Speaker 8 (12:49):
You've promoted this like it's a Donald Trump interview exclusive
coming up.

Speaker 5 (12:53):
I know I said something good, beautiful, It's good. There
we go. All right, it is the Odd Couple. You
know what you need to do, stick and stay for
a sneak preview like this in the US of A.
And here's to you, mister Belacheck.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
App Fox Sports Radio. It is the Odd Couple. He's Rob.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
I'm Kelvin on a let me break it down.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
I was like, good, gracious, Magic City Monday.

Speaker 5 (13:31):
Wap bab blu mom, lamp bump bump. That's really really funny.
Don't get them started with that.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
All right, we got I'm taking your calls a seven
seven ninety nine on Fox, we're talking about Yannis and
the reports that he is open open to the idea
of being traded.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Rob and I.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
One of the things we both agree on is, Hey,
if you're the Bucks, you can explored this a little
bit different view on it. I'm trying to explore it
even if I'm Yanni. It's a perfect clean breakup. Time
to move on. You're looking at it from the end
of the Bucks taking calls. A said for seven ninety
nine on Fox is a time for Giannis to part ways.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Who we got.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Kevin in Culver City. You're in the eye couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (14:07):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (14:08):
Kevin is good all the time? Kevin, hey man, when
we get together for Wings.

Speaker 9 (14:15):
Hey, we're gonna do when you coming over city, you
got the Wings on me, We'll celebrated. Gianna's trade looks.

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Coming to the Lakers. So just stop.

Speaker 9 (14:23):
Jas has to leave the Bucks.

Speaker 10 (14:25):
He's done his job. He won a.

Speaker 9 (14:27):
Championship in Milwaukee.

Speaker 10 (14:29):
He solidified he's a top echelon.

Speaker 9 (14:32):
Player in the league. I don't want to hear about
you know who's who's the best. He's won a championship.
He needs to anchor a trade to the Lakers. If
he wants to be a Laker and force his way
to La say I'm not come.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
On, stop it, stop stop and look stop it. This
is a typical, typical Laker fan. Stop it stop. He's
not coming to the Lakers.

Speaker 10 (14:52):
There's two places that No, he's not.

Speaker 5 (14:54):
It's not coming to the Lakers. He's not listening.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
As much as I do think Giannis wants a fresh
start Lakers, he's not coming speci it because I don't
think Giannis wants to be where I'm either behind Lebron,
I'm behind Lucas the Lakers with only Anthony Davis or
just an elder Kobe, that'd be different. I don't think
he's coming to be behind the Lebron show and everything
that comes with it and Luca.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
Now, I don't see it. Don't even make sense.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
I don't see that happening. I don't Luke or Giannis
doesn't strike me as that guy Drew in New Jersey.
You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Drew?

Speaker 6 (15:27):
I think they should get all of the draft cap
of the Ken's hurt him and all this talk about
Giannis is different.

Speaker 10 (15:33):
He's competitive.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
He's been saying it for a year. He likes super teams,
quote unquote, that's what he said. So he's not different.
He's the same thing as everyone else.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
No, no, stop, Drew, Drew. Stop.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Everybody called him a dummy when he stayed and we
signed in Milwaukee, right because.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
He could have he could have he could have he
could have gone. He could have gone. No, why didn't
he leave?

Speaker 3 (15:57):
He could have gone to Miami right after they lost
to Miami in the first round.

Speaker 6 (16:00):
Don't you want a championship like two years prior.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
No, I'm talking about before that. I'm talking about before that, Drew.
That's not true. No, it's not. No, it's no, that's
not true. No, I'm not because he had a chance
to leave. He had a chance to leave, he had one.

Speaker 6 (16:19):
Why did he say it that? No, but why.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
Didn't he leave?

Speaker 7 (16:22):
Though?

Speaker 3 (16:23):
It is my point, he had a chance to leave
when they lost to Miami.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
But he had a chance to leave.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Then, Drew Drew, I think what I think everybody said
he was crazy to stay in Milwalk. I think there's
an acknowledgment that you cannot win alone, right, and I
think that's pressure on the team. If I'm saying things
like this, I'm gonna put pressure on the team, and
next thing, you know, we get a Damian Lillard. You
understand what I'm saying, Drew, So I think he knows
and acknowledges you can't do this.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
But I'm just.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
Saying after they lost to Miami, everybody when he resigned,
people was so mad.

Speaker 5 (16:57):
Why would you stay there?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
I'll never forget people going, You'll never win a championship
in Milwaukee, and then what.

Speaker 5 (17:03):
Do you do? He wanted to like talk one like
the next year too.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
I just think he and I think him saying that
is again adding pressure that you can't do this thing alone, right,
you need play. Everybody talks about the super teams, that's
how it's formed, but the idea that there hadn't been
super teams prior to how they become formed.

Speaker 5 (17:17):
You look at those Laker teams with Big.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
Game, James Lebron, James Kareem Abduing, jab Bro super team
to me, I mean, James, I mean you got you
got Bird, Michale Paris, Dennis Johnson, four Hall of Famers,
Bill Bill on them. That's five Hall of Famers. Super
teams have been happening is just how they reformed. It
is a little bit different.

Speaker 5 (17:35):
Now.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Who you got Lando in Milwaukee? You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Lando?

Speaker 7 (17:41):
Oh? Man? What's going on round?

Speaker 5 (17:43):
How you? What's going on?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
You?

Speaker 5 (17:44):
All right?

Speaker 7 (17:46):
Man? We're good man, We're good over in Milwaukee. Man.
But I had to jump in first time a long time.
You know that's cliche.

Speaker 5 (17:51):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
I had to jump in this. Man. I'm forty two, Ron.
I've been a Buck fan all my life, man, so
you know I've been through the dog days down here.
But it's time, man, we saw it. I mean, we
have a grateful for Giannis and for him, Christ Mildleton,
the whole organization what they did. But as a fan

(18:14):
first and foremost, we gotta get what we can get
for Giannis and and I feel.

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Like Lando is a clean breakup, like he gave you
your all. He never down the team, the organization, and now.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
He won a championship. He ain't want a championship. Good
to go for that.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
It's a perfect, great, clean breakup. All right, Let's we
got some breaking newyeh, we do have some breaking wow.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Breaking news from Fox Sports.

Speaker 11 (18:37):
The NBA Draft lottery is over now, it's the order
is set. The top four teams with the odds were
the Hornets, the seventy six Ers, the Dallas Mavericks, and
the San Antonio Spurs. They'll be picking in the reverse
ear the fourth with the Hornets third the seventy six Ers.
The second pick in the draft will go to San Antonio,
and the number one overall pick, Cooper Flag persumptively, will

(19:01):
go to the Dallas.

Speaker 3 (19:02):
So all the people with the conspiracy that they are
moving to Vegas now because they were dumping the team
or or trying to gut the team so that they can.

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Move to Vegas. Is that still in place? Oh? Definitely
still it.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Yeah, we're about to just take We're gonna take him
to Vegas, Vera, Las Vegas.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
The owners are going to cash out on that expansion
fee in Vegas with high rollers.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
About to go to Vegas with Cooper flat with the
plan out flag in Vegas. What you mean you're gonna
be right there, rob g. It's tough for us to go.
You can go see uh Las Vegas games.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
They're gonna have a team in Vegas, but it ain't
gonna be the the Dallas.

Speaker 1 (19:40):
So Nico Harrison has smiling somewhere to I don't know
if he's a praying man, but he better be thinking God,
because now if you get a healthy Kyrie obviously gonna
be some time with his injury the m c L
and then all of a sudden, you get Cooper Flag
and then you got Anthony Davis. Although that's two out
of the three guys who stay injured in Kyrie and
Anthony Davis.

Speaker 5 (19:58):
But that's a good get that's a good gift for them.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
If you're trying your best to get a fan base,
back fan base who are all wearing uh a Luca
Laker jersey right now coming to your game thinking it
sounded like a Laker home game.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
This is your best bet you can do right now.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
I know the people in Utah, they are so mad
that was the player I already know.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
Can I ask a question if.

Speaker 11 (20:21):
You are a fan of the Dallas Mavericks, would you
rather whatever Cooper Flag can be or Jannis trade er
one overall pick to Millwall knowingly, great question, Martin, John
Cooper fly, Yeah, that might be Anthony Bennett.

Speaker 5 (20:39):
No, but I'm thinking I know what you mean.

Speaker 12 (20:42):
There's a chance you could have scaled it back a little.
You could in the middle somewhere you're talking about yourselves.
I just wanted to do talking about the Dallas Mavericks.
Who wants in an NBA draft NBA draft, and I
know it is different ownership. The NBA draft drafted three
white guys in the top eighteen and did not pick
cal Malone.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Joe Dubars.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
They picked Ouve Blob, Dent Left Shrimp, and Bill Winnington.
Those are their top three picks in the top eighteen.
Cooper Flag will be wearing a Dallas Mavericks shoot.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
Cooper Flag is giving Big Texas energy. Like that's Big Texas.
They're looking forward to that now. From a basketball standpoint,
absolutely get what you mean. Meaning Giannis is if he
ever even gets to seventy five eighty percent, why that
be amazing because Giannis is a certified first ballot Hall
of Famer. But also think Martin, you can sell on
hope and youth and optimism and like he's are now

(21:37):
our rock for twelve years, we're Giannis. Maybe there's two
three more years of top tier, then there's two more
years of really good but not the best.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Be sure to catch live editions of the odd Couple

App NBAHVS, also NBA Radio, Damn Holds, Pelicans Analysts, Fox
Sports Radio, NBA Analysts, and every Day ad is Hustling

Speaker 5 (22:08):
Uh, let's get straight to it. Mavericks, Mavericks, what's happening?
What's you think now? You're upset? All you what it was?
What the spur? What you mad about the.

Speaker 10 (22:19):
Pelicans number seventh pick? In address?

Speaker 5 (22:23):
Well? What the first? As a Pistons fan, I know
about this, been here before. Go ahead and go off
a little bit.

Speaker 10 (22:28):
Ad, I'm not even gonna go off. Man, I'm not
even gonna go off. I'm not even gonna do it.

Speaker 14 (22:33):
Man.

Speaker 10 (22:33):
I'm good for Dallas, good for it.

Speaker 1 (22:36):
Don't sound like it's good for downas Ad. Don't you're
not selling me on it?

Speaker 10 (22:39):
No, no, no, I'm saying it's good for Dallas because
if you look at what happened this past year with
Luca being traded away, everybody was talking about, oh you
know what, we're now renewing our season tickets. We're gonna
boy got the Mavericks. We're not going to game, so
what better way to get butts in the seats and
get the number one overall pick.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Are you saying there was a cold envelope? Are you
saying an envelope? So, okay, I'm just saying. I'm just
saying he.

Speaker 5 (23:02):
Can't say that. He doesn't have proof, he doesn't have
proofs I am.

Speaker 10 (23:05):
I am the furthest thing from a conspiracy series.

Speaker 5 (23:08):
Okay, I am just.

Speaker 10 (23:09):
Speaking fat, I'm speaking fat. Right. We saw their their
ticket prices be raised, their ticket prices were raised, and
so many Dallas Mavericks. Man, we're talking about you know what,
that's it, you guys traded Luca. I'm done. Kyrie Irving's hurt.
Anthony Davis as always hurt. You know what, I'm not
renewing my season tickets. Well, see how strong their words are.

Speaker 5 (23:30):
Now we will.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
That's gonna be a lot of pressure on Cooper flag though.
It's like, hey man, we need you to be Luca.
We need you to be Luca asap.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Right off the back, Hey, hey, Antonio, help me with
some of the shooting.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
What are we watching with the three point shooting? Ninety ninety.

Speaker 3 (23:48):
Okay, let's do what well one for what was it
in the first quarter, one for twenty five. Denver scored
eight points one for twenty five combined.

Speaker 5 (23:59):
That that's professional basketball.

Speaker 10 (24:02):
But I'm gonna tell you the conversation that we had
on our show last week, wits is more taxing physically, right,
because you know, you always compare and contract generations the
nineties in the eighties where the more physical or now
where they're tracing and the computing and everything. Oh that
guy rans six point seven miles. They run more now

(24:25):
the game is so much faster. You know what has happened.
There's been a drastic difference change in the officiating from
Game eighty two to the postseason. There's been a drastic difference.
I've never seen the NBA this physical since the nineties,
early two thousands. And you know what, guys are struggling

(24:46):
with this because it's taxing on your body. So when
we have callers that call in and say, oh, you
know what, this generation, you know they have it much
harder because they have to run a lot more. They
don't understand how taxing it is on your body to
played with physicality where you can hold and you can grab,
and you can fight over threes, and you can blow
up dribble handoffs, all these kinds of things that aren't

(25:08):
allowed throughout the course of the regular season.

Speaker 5 (25:11):
I agree, and I've enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (25:13):
I mean, every gay I don't need to get than
thirty one, one hundred and twenty five wins all the time.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
But what's lame, man, is just play that way a
call at that way the entire season.

Speaker 10 (25:21):
That's not gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
I know it's not, but it does. It doesn't make
any sense to me. It doesn't make any sense with you.

Speaker 10 (25:27):
I am, because you know what's going to happen when
October comes. It's going to be back to the ring
offense of guys scoring one hundred points in one hundred
and fifty points, teams doing all these great days until
the postseason. Because now you can see players struggling. Have
you ever seen the cool of yoga struggle like this?

Speaker 5 (25:47):
No, Well, we're gonna get to that a little bit
later too.

Speaker 10 (25:50):
You know why, because they are all over him. They're
grabbing him, they're holding him, they're leaning on him, all
the things that aren't allowed during the regular season. Eyes
are parading to the fat line in the postseason like
they were in the regular season. I've never seen the
officiating take a jump like this or the roles take
a jump like this, and guys are struggling with it.

Speaker 5 (26:12):
Yeah they are. It's not it's not good for the product.
It just isn't. It just makes it great. I think
it's great. I love it.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
I want to I want to see great players play now.
And all I'm saying is, if you're gonna give me, uh, Luca,
I mean, uh like that all year and then I
gotta watch you know what it reminds me of. And
I'm gonna be serious as a guy who covered hockey
in Detroit or whatever in the postseason when they used
to destroy and beat up.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
The best goalscorer and injure him, like they.

Speaker 3 (26:41):
Used to purposely attack the guy, injure him so.

Speaker 5 (26:47):
Like do you know what I mean, so he couldn't play.

Speaker 3 (26:49):
And I used to be like, why would you want
your greatest players injured during the playoffs so that they
can't play?

Speaker 5 (26:55):
That makes no sense.

Speaker 10 (26:57):
But nobody's injured.

Speaker 5 (26:59):
No, no, no, I'm just saying, but.

Speaker 10 (27:00):
You know, I mean, that's the thing about it, Like
they aren't they aren't playing to him, so they're injuring them.
It's just a lot more physical. How many times had
Jason Tatum? How many times did Jason Tatum and Jalen
Brown and different players complain and their post game pressers
about how physical it is.

Speaker 5 (27:18):
I enjoy it all right, let me speaking.

Speaker 10 (27:20):
I think this is a generational conversation. Vin, Yeah, it
is a racial conversation.

Speaker 5 (27:25):
It is because I have to admit I'm finally up there. Yeah.

Speaker 10 (27:27):
Yeah. If I'm twenty years old and I grew up
and the first thing that kind of drew me to
the NBA with Steph Curry, I don't recognize this. I
don't recognize this NBA. But some of us that are
older that grew up playing this way, that grew up
watching the eighties and playing in the nineties, this is
what we like. But this is also what caange the rules.

(27:48):
When games were eighty eight to ninety and ninety two
to ninety.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
One, you might be spotting them something you might have
got a little lower in about seventy eight seventy seven.

Speaker 5 (27:56):
You're talking Knick's cases.

Speaker 10 (27:58):
But look at these games now we we You Rob
just talked about the fact that Timber score eight points
the other day, scored thirty one points in the first
half two games ago.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Yeah, shoot the Cavs thirty nine and you know what
I mean the other night at halftime as well, right.

Speaker 10 (28:16):
And I was told that wasn't entertaining. That's what I
was told. I was told that kind of basketball is
not entertaining. So if it's not entertaining, why are we
going back to it?

Speaker 3 (28:25):
Okay, let's go to the Knicks and the Celtics. What
do you expect in that game? I looked like the
Knicks showed up again in Game three or the Celtics
finally played.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
It's a weird series.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
I mean the Knicks still, I still they haven't played
one good game to me, like one full four for
a good game.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
And that's what's scary about them to me.

Speaker 10 (28:48):
And they whether they played what three games they've let
they they've played better in ten of the twelve quarters.
And if you look at even the first two games
that they lost and they shot twenty from three, they
were up twenty points in both those games. Well, if
I'm a Nick fan, that's scary to me. It's different
if the team goes out and they're playing extremely well.

(29:09):
And they're up twenty. But when the team is out
of four out of ten and they're still up twenty,
you hate to see what it looks like when they
get to a seven or eight out of ten. I think, honestly,
I think Boston wins this series. I think they win tonight,
and they think they win this series.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
The's not crazy. I mean, it's not crazy.

Speaker 1 (29:26):
I mean, I mean, they were up twenty and if
the two games they lost so clearly they've been dominating.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Now if they lose tonight, then it's gonna be a
tough road obviously. Yeah, I mean, but I'm with you.
I expect them to play because they played awful. I mean,
you can't give up leads like that in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
And they have better players, they have way more depth
eighty this.

Speaker 10 (29:49):
Though, what's that, Robert? It's hard, man, It's hard not
to give up leads like that with three point line,
with the three point line being as prevalent as it is,
by the twenty point leads in twenty twenty five is not.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
What it was.

Speaker 3 (30:01):
I agree with you. I agree with you there, there's
no doubt about it. We've seen that in the old
days all series when I was covering the NBA for real,
Like if you you had to be like ten point
within ten points in the fourth quarter a D to
have a chance, you know what I mean, Like you
could have a chance in the old days. I'm not
going about the eighties and nineties when I was covering
the league like that. And now you could have a

(30:21):
twenty point league. They make some threes and you keep
shooting threes yep, and you're not eating up clock right
fast shots, and then they get the rebound and they roll.
Now like it's crazy pace, the play real quick before
you go a D. Cavaliers. Now they're down three to one.
They should have won Game two. Donovan Mitchell has played great.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Uh Now, obviously this last game getting nicked up, only
played really the first half.

Speaker 5 (30:44):
Are they cooked?

Speaker 10 (30:46):
I think they're done. I think for me, when you're
talking about the Indiana Pacers, it's a it's a game
of a trisy, right. They're actually getting up and down
in the clean cav don't have the body we saw
this last year. There's a reason that Indiana made it
all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last year
because they can continue to come at you and waves

(31:09):
and they play fast and they play physical. This is
one of the teams that the physicality or the ramp
up in physicality has actually helped him because they're allowing
aaron Ne Smith and Art and these guys to play
extremely physical and it helps him out.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
One of them about to get dropped though. Somebody's about
to get swung on for sure by Hunter. He's going
to swing on somebody. All right, Ay, appreciate you as always.

Speaker 10 (31:31):
Man.

Speaker 5 (31:31):
Tang it.

Speaker 1 (31:31):
Those dag gonna play seventh pick. Maybe you never know,
they might get a sleeper at the seventh pick.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
And the whole thing too like which you can't why
you can't prove that there's rigged or whatever.

Speaker 5 (31:43):
Yeah, this pick doesn't help. The NBA makes it look
like this way, Bolla, I mean still stuff. You know
what I'm saying. It makes it look like because of
what went on and listen, business, God, I'm.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
Just saying, you don't you don't have any what you
call it. It's too I guess it's too obvious, right,
but it's too But I'm just saying it does make
it look like that.

Speaker 5 (32:01):
I'm just saying one of those envelopes was a little
sticky one.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
I always thought that when Yao Ming, I thought they
were gonna have him go to New York instead of Houston,
like right with the big agent popular and he wound
up going to Houston.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
You're saying a big Asian population in New York. They
got a huge following in Houston.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
I don't know, is it bigger than New York? I
mean New York?

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Maybe the literal population like the World War some reason
they messed with Houston. It's a whole it's a whole
thing on that. But all right, we have coming up
Shecle City. See how Rob did over the weekend. It's
your boys, the hot cover, Rob Parker Kevin Washington on
a Magic City Monday, Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
You got a tissue for me.

Speaker 2 (32:36):

Speaker 5 (32:46):
App Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
It's the cover Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington on a
Magic City Monday. Thank you for hanging out with us.
Hopefully had a great weekend.

Speaker 5 (32:57):
All right? It side now Rob four Shekel City.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
Welcome to Shekel City. The whole base for Rob Parkers
Dally Dix against the spread.

Speaker 14 (33:12):
All right, Uh, Friday two and one, I'm up to
one twenty six and one twenty five on the season,
one twenty six, one twenty five.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
Tonight, Minnesota Timberwolves minus five and a half. That's my
best bet. They're in Golden State. I'm gonna go with
the Timberwolves.

Speaker 5 (33:31):
Yeah, I'm with that. Got the Knicks plus six and
a half. It's pretty ugly so far. Thirteen I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 3 (33:39):
Yeah, early on, Okay, so the Knicks lose, but maybe
a little closer than last game.

Speaker 1 (33:44):
I think Boston is upset with themselves, okay, trying to thrash.

Speaker 5 (33:48):
And they got the New York Mets minus one and
a half. Is that game? Can we get that game
to Rob g on one of these uh yeah, one
of the right TVs. His TVs. Yes, all of a sudden,
he's looking at games now. Yeah, these two TVs right here,
let's do that.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
I got the Mets minus one and a half hosting
the Pittsburgh Pirates. I got the Knicks plus six and
a half at the Garden with the Celtics and the
Minnesota Timberwolves minus five and a half. They are on
the road in San Francisco taking on the wards. And remember,
I'm not telling you who to bet on what you
tell them, I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
All right, your little gig yup. That being said, it's
time for the tire Rack Play of the day.

Speaker 7 (34:29):
The number one pick in the twenty twenty five NBA
Draft goes to the Dallas Mavericks.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
There you have it right there, The Dallas Mavericks get
the number one pick in the NBA Draft. Should we
just say they get Cooper Flag at this point, because
that's exactly who's gonna be a lot of people, rob gee.
A lot of people, of course have some thoughts to
say about this on social media. But before we get
to that, the play of the day was brought to
you by tire Rack. For over forty years, tire Reck

(34:58):
has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and free back
by free road has a protection with convenient insulation options
like mobile tire installation, tyreck dot com. The way tire
bias should be uh. Back in eighty what was that?
Eighty five? Patrick Ewing, A lot of people joked the
new York Knicks was at a cold envelope rob g.
A lot of people, including NBA players, got some stuff

(35:20):
to say on socials.

Speaker 5 (35:21):
That's right.

Speaker 8 (35:21):
It's eerily similar to what happened with Anthony Davis. You
recall you got traded to the Lakers and then what
do you know, the New Orleans Pelican the number one
pick for Zion Waves.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
And that didn't really work out too much for him.

Speaker 8 (35:32):
But in this case, Luca Dodges gets traded and surprise, surprise,
the Dallas Mavericks one point eight percent chance of winning,
they get the number one pick, they capture the flag
Cooper Flag. It's got a slew of NBA superstars putting
out some wild emojis, including Kevin Love, who says.

Speaker 5 (35:51):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 8 (35:52):
Lebron James, you know, being the guy that he is,
the king, nothing but laughing, Amjis.

Speaker 5 (35:57):
I think we all know what he's talking about. I
like Kevin Love putting some some words on it, like
what we're doing here? That's obvious.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
If you're gonna get a big man in the NBA
like Wimby, where is he laying the spurs?

Speaker 5 (36:10):
I'm just saying, you know, I'm not believing. Hey, listen,
what do they owe to the Spurs? Why are they
doing that?

Speaker 1 (36:15):
But the Spurs have done great, but the developing okays.

Speaker 5 (36:20):
But the only thing is Parker.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
They have like the five worst NBA Finals TV waitings ever,
like the Spur. I'm just saying from a league like
it doesn't make sense for Wimby to play in a
small market like that where they don't do anything.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
Development, just like fifteen twenty years. Yeah, but I'm just saying,
for the least star of my league, Wimby going.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
To the Spurs, I just don't see that.

Speaker 3 (36:45):
I'm not saying. And again I don't have any evidence.
I'm not naive, but I just I can't speak on
something that I know.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
But I also like to talk about way and been
back to the move. Where's the Starbucks on the Moon?
Where is the Trader Jones on the more? That is
Unamerican of it? There would at McDonald's on the Moon
if we went there. I'm just saying, let me stop
before somebody actually believes me. This is again the conversation
really becomes if you're the Mavericks, are you happy you
got your guy? Is that you locked in for the
next ten to fifteen years. Do you feel trades Martin

(37:16):
throughout the proposition of Giannis is open to the idea
of being traded. Do you call and say, hey, Dallas,
we got a thirty year old Giannis proven Vet was
third in MVP voting.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
You know what he does?

Speaker 1 (37:28):
You team him up with an Anthony Davis, You team
him up with a Kyrie You got something? Or do
you stick around new ownership, say we got our guy
for the next ten years. Interesting, I think you're gonna
stick absolutely stay with Cooper flag.

Speaker 5 (37:40):
Well, we'll hope you build around that guy.

Speaker 8 (37:41):
Do you make a good point, but the one that's
really picking up team and it hasn't picking up team
now for months before we even knew what pick they
were gonna have, the Sancho Ho Spurs quietly left into
the number two spot. They have two picks in the lottery.
The streets have been saying for a minute now, Wemby
Giannis Fox. I mean that's they can make that trade

(38:02):
happen without really giving up much of anything in terms
of their top end guys.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
I mean I love I mean I would love it
if I'm Wenby because he's even though he's huge, he
plays perimeter oriented, whereas Giannis, even though he's a lot
of agility, he's more of a brute down there.

Speaker 5 (38:18):
So that could work.

Speaker 1 (38:18):
Darreon Fox stud obviously get it wherever he would like
that I wouldn't be That would actually be kind of
a nasty trio right there.

Speaker 8 (38:24):
Can we abolish conferences? By the way, now that all
these guys are in the West.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Well that's the thing, that's stuff. Why keeps We talked
about something earlier, some of the idea that

Speaker 3 (38:31):
I don't want that I don't want the least stern conference,
no point, know how
