Speaker 7 (03:03):
What I will say about Calvin though, is he is

want him to do or not like.
Speaker 6 (03:11):
Because when you turn on Spectrum, it immediately goes pinematically goes,
don't drive.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Doesn't that drive you crazy?
Speaker 7 (03:17):
So I promise you you live in Los Angeles. If
the name is not familiar, I guarantee you you've seen
his face half a dozen times, no doubt.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
And he does the morning show there. But Rob guh,

Com the way tire buying should be, Rob G, Let's
start it here.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Joe Burrow.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
You know how much Chris and I are dig Joe Burrow? Right,
we both do. We liked him when he was getting
out of college and he was gonna People were telling him,
don't go to Cincinnati, they never win.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Blah blah blah blah. What do you do, Rob g You.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Went to Cincinnati and he did his thing second year
and he played six or seven games this rookie year.
Next year had them in the super Bowl. But everybody's
not a fan of Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Can you explain? That's right?
Speaker 7 (04:34):
Super Bowl champion, former Packers wide receiver James Jones, friend
of the show. He's been on a handful of time.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
So now he's on what show was he on?
Speaker 7 (04:41):
He's got the UFS one morning show, the Facility with
the Manuelacho, Chase Daniel and Shady McCoy. There you go,
And of course the big game this weekend is Bengals Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
You know, Joe Burrow's return to Burrowhead. I believe.
Speaker 7 (04:56):
So during the show, James Jones was talking about Burrow
and his confidence level heading into week two after that
dud of a performance against the Patriots at home. And
let's just say that James Jones is not a fan
of Joe Burrow.
Speaker 8 (05:12):
Listen, we got to start keeping it real for Joe Burrow.
If Lamar Jackson throw that ball and his toe ain't out,
there's a lot of ifs. If Jalen Hursts look down
the middle of the field and Reincover two and don't
throw it and it ain't it's a lot of ifs.
But them dudes take a lot of heat. Joe Burrow
has not been good man the last two years and
starting off this seat, he ain't been good. He was
(05:33):
five and five last year and then went out with
an injury.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
All right, then they went four and three without Joe Burrow.
Speaker 8 (05:40):
Joe Burrow without top elite wide receivers is average.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
He is.
Speaker 8 (05:45):
But we keep no no for real, nough, but we
keep we keep living on this on the Super Bowl appearance,
but we don't live on other stuff for other quarterbacks.
Joe Burrow is not playing good football right now.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
He ain't right, and we keep.
Speaker 8 (05:58):
Putting him up there saying he's better than Josh Allen,
the number two quarterback in football. But to be honest
with you, the real is he ain't played well the
last year and a half.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
He ain't.
Speaker 8 (06:07):
You just lost to the Patriots man, Joe Burrow. This
is the new England Patriots. And you're supposed to be
the second best quarterback in football, everybody praising that you're
the only one that could challenge Patrick Mahomes and all this.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Well, the last year and a half you can't. You
have not been a good quarterback.
Speaker 8 (06:22):
And if it was any other quarterback, we wouldn't keep saying, oh, man,
if this, if that, if that, if this, No, the
man got to play better, and he's not, and you
should be nervous.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Wow, I am here, rob Did you fall off? Did
you fall off your seat? Because I did?
Speaker 6 (06:43):
I just and again, Hey, James Jones, Chris, he's been
on our show and I love the passion and whatnot.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
But where is there any pushback? Is there like any
like they have been? I mean, we didn't hear that.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
Yeah, I know, but I'm saying even Eve, yeah, I'm
hoping Rob G was push show, he got pushed back.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
There was no pushback rob Gz none. Nope. Well, I'm
gonna say this.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
I'm he makes some interesting and thoughtful points, but I
do think there are explanations for what because he's right,
Joe Burrow wasn't good last year. But Joe Burrow, now
if you want to say, hey, he played once you're
on the field, no excuses.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
I think he wasn't good early on because of the injury,
the cash strain he was recovering from.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Once he got.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Going before he got re injured or another injury, but
injured again, he started really playing good football his last
few games, maybe three games before he got hurt with
his wrist, and he obviously wasn't good in Game one
when they lose to New England. What I will say
(08:00):
about him rob the my major issue, and James has
to me, has to bring this up. My major issue
with Joe Burrow are the injuries. Like number one, he's
been injured. He's only been healthy for two full seasons now.
He's played parts of two others, but parts isn't good enough.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
He's only been healthy two out of four full seasons.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
So if you want to blame some you know, say
he's too injury prone, that's fine. I think his struggles
last year, as I said, were due to his recovery
from his injuries.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
But the thing I will.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Say is that a lot of the criticism, and I'm
not gonna make it a rock party conversation, but one
of the things people have always wanted to see from
Brock Purty is can he play without all this talent
around him?
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Oh, he's playing all right, he's playing well.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
But he's got Christian McCaffrey, he's got a Brandon Ayuk,
He's got Deebo Samuel, George.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Kittle, all these guys.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Rob James makes it is true that we've only seen
Burrow with a litany of talent around Jamar Chase t Higgins,
Joe Mixon, who's a very good running back, and he's saying, well,
we saw him Sunday without t Higgins and he didn't
(09:26):
look that good.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I'm not gonna go that far, but I think there's
only really two.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
There are a few quarterbacks who you can really say,
we know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, they can
get it done without tremendous weapons. Patrick Mahomes and even
he has Travis Kelcey and Andy Reid is a great
offensive mind. Lambard Jackson, who's not had a great receiver,
(09:55):
like a top flight receiver throughout his career, and he
hasn't won a Super Bowl, but he's one consistently at
a high level.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
And if you want to throw in CJ.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Stroud, I mean Nicocollins is going to be a really
nice win, and Tank Dell is really good.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
But they were unproven last year and.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
He took these quote unquote no name receivers and turned
them into names, and so I think they're good on
their own. But you can put CJ. Stroud in there
if you want. But Joe Burrow has had a lot
of talent. Jalen Hurts has had a ton of talent,
you know, Justin Herbert has had a ton of talent.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
At the skilled positions. So a lot of these other guys,
Dak Prescott, same thing.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
So if you want to throw Joe Burrow in that,
I think James went too far. I say he ain't
that good.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
Now he went too far with that.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
Well that's where he lost me because we know what
the Cincinnati Bengals were before he arrived there and everybody
you need talent to win. And Chris three and one
against Patrick Mahomes almost one game, you know, remember the
push out of Mahomes on the sideline that led to
the field goal. He almost won and got them to
a second Super Bowl, and he didn't get there, but
(11:08):
they played damn close in in Burroughhead or whatever.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
You want to call it.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
You know what I mean, three and one against Mahomes,
against Mahomes, Marvin Lewis had talent in Cincinnati, oh and
seven in the playoffs, he shows up. He's the Aaron
Judge of the NFL, Chris. And then from the standpoint row, Yeah,
like when he plays and he's healthy, he's as good
as anybody.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
He just been hurt a lot, and we've seen this.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
I just the idea like he can't play and he's
just lucky because other people.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
I'm not buying that.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
I think that's where James Jones needed pushback.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
He's been to a super Bowl. I get it. No
one's saying that.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (11:54):
And then you know, when you bring up other people
and whether or not what they did and those things,
that does give you something your second year, Chris, you
play six or seven games your rookie year, you get hurt,
you come back and get to the super Bowl and
you beat Patrick Mahomes based on the rose full season.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Serious, come on, he is living off that and he's
party right that. Yeah, I mean, he won't be living
off that four years from now, right if he doesn't,
you know, get back to the super Bowl or something
like that. But for now, right, he's still early in
his career. He's in his fifth season. Like I said this,
(12:32):
if he plays the whole year, this will only be
his third full season. And so in two full seasons,
one of them he got his team to the super
Bowl and when he got to.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Right, that's why, and that's why he there's no James right.
He's living off that super Bowl. But he has right
because he hasn't played eight years. Chris.
Speaker 6 (12:54):
If this was seven eight years ago, then you can
make the argument and say, dude, that was a lifetime
ago title sports writers were using typewriters.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
No, he hasn't had full seasons.
Speaker 6 (13:05):
To be able to fully take a look and say
he's living off of something.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
That's where I'm not buying it.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
Yeah, he went too far because he didn't even mention
the injuries, right, I mean.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
It was injuries. So he was five and five last
year and he played her. Don't you remember he was
playing hurt before her.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Body thinks the real Joe Burrow before he got hurt.
The game before he got hurt, it was a loss,
a close loss, three point lost to Houston. He threw
for three hundred and forty seven yards two touchdowns. Now
he did have two picks. But the game before that
a win over Buffalo three hundred forty eight yards and
(13:48):
two touchdowns. Win before that they beat San Francisco. He
had three touchdowns, three yards.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
He was he was.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Clearly coming back to who he is once he got healthy.
Speaker 9 (13:58):
All right?
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine, Fox.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Is Has James Jones lost his mind?
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Or do you agree Joe Burrow's over rady? Your thoughts?

head is.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
Quitch to God. We don't know if he's a man
of the cloth like you a man.
Speaker 6 (15:25):
When I asked him whether he was a man of
the cloth, he said, yeah, he used to be an
upholstry salesman. Nothing, Alex, I, We'll do better with Calvin.

All right.

Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox Your Turn the
Way in. Is Joe Burrow overrated? Or is James Jones
lost his ever loving mind? Robert in Georgia, you're on
they couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Robert?
Speaker 11 (16:18):
What's going on? Tell us? How y'all hold up?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Great?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
How are you? Buddy?
Speaker 11 (16:22):
Blessed man? I want to say, I haven't got a
chance to call in, and Chris made the announcement because
I've been working. I still listen, but how be working.
I took a break just to you know, tell christ congratulations.
Now we have him go, but you know we I'm
happy for him and wish him the most and which
I still listen to the show.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Thank you, buddy, appreciated man, thank you.
Speaker 11 (16:42):
It's no problem. I want to say one quick thing,
like one of my I know y'all did one of
the favorite things, but one of my things because I
remember Rob when we first told them me and I'm announcement,
Chris was saying, hi, he because he was working so much,
yet heto his breaks. You know, he's between commercial breaks,
and so I remember that time Chris was eating during
the you know, the update sports updates, and I guess
(17:03):
with Steve, I can't remember, and he asked Rob and
Chris a question and Chris has my full eating and
he told Chris that was unprofessional for eating while he's
on the radio and Chris getting back and forth and
Rob was playing. Rob was playing the tea makers like,
come on, we all on the same team.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
Yeah, I remember that. That's when Steve and Chris went
out it yes, sir.
Speaker 11 (17:26):
But no, I wanted to say, I agree with Dame Jones.
I do think that Joe Burrow Uh. I think that
not he's overrated, but I think that he gets gets
too much of a pass to living up there in
Super Bowl pinch, But no other quarterback doesn't get that.
Lamar Jackson doesn't get that.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
He hasn't been to a super Bowl? What what? What did? No? No,
you can't, you can't. You can't equate it the same way.
I'm sorry that well, in the playoffs, Robert, he hasn't
been to a super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
He's living off and their Batchel Lamar, he hadn't been
to a super Bowl, right.
Speaker 11 (17:57):
Let me ask you a question. So why can't he
live off those two? And that's just I want to
watch because.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
It's about winning so exactly, just about winning MVP.
Speaker 11 (18:04):
But he didn't he didn't win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
But he got his team won an AFC championship, and
remember hasn't done that yet.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
And remember he also had a chance to go to
second one.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Chris right, and we like Lamar, We're not We're Lamar Ryan.
You can't compare winning m vps and leading the team
to the Super Bowl your first full season. Those are
a different thing. Marty and Kentucky. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports. Ready, what's up, Marty?
Speaker 4 (18:31):
What's the fellas?
Speaker 9 (18:32):
How y'all doing today?
Speaker 2 (18:33):
Doing great? How are you?
Speaker 9 (18:35):
I'm good, I'm good. You're gonna try to get as
many calls in this week's possible. H I'm still pretty
strong about this subject because I've I've watched a lot
of Borough him being in the North, and I watched
a lot of SCC, and I think that what he accomplished,
having the greatest offensive year as a quarterback and winning
(18:59):
national championship in college doesn't count to his resume. And
I think that getting to the Super Bowl, getting by
my home to is you know, making him and his coaches,
they're making their push for the goat conversations, right, and
you get by that that means something then you almost
got back twice. And also in the AFC. I know
I know this because I go to games at Cincinnati,
(19:22):
and I know how important it is to him. When
you in AFC North Championships.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
That matters too. Yeah, he's got those two, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
And like we've only been healthy two full years, he's
been to the AFC title game both of those years,
and one of them he went to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 6 (19:39):
All right, let's go to uh Vince in Columbus, Ohio.
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 12 (19:45):
Hey, guys, I wanted to tell Chris, I'm gonna missy Man.
Speaker 11 (19:49):
I actually served my own.
Speaker 12 (19:50):
NFL podcast, and I thought that was a big inspiration
for it.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Oh, thank you man. I appreciate that for sure.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (19:59):
So, first, I mean, I'm a Steelers fan, and I
don't think he's overrated. I do think it's just more
so injury to slow him down. And like you guys said,
he's literally been to the Super Bowl, Nancy Championship. I
don't know he gets a path that he deserves it, honestly.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
Yeah, I mean I think again, if James had pointed out, look,
Burrow is this and that he's really good, but he's
injury prone and that's held him back and it may
continue to hold him back. You know, he's already dealing
with this risk that some people think it's problematic.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
So that's that's one thing. But just to say he's
not that good but.
Speaker 6 (20:35):
Not but and not to mention it, Chris, Like, you
can't have a conversation about Joe Burrow and not talk
about the injuries. Right, It's not Anthony Davis, right, like,
like come on, like that's just got to be a
part of the conversation. And and uh, he when he's
been healthy, he's played really well.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Jay Crawford, our former colleague at the Old Network now
at the Ultimate Cleveland Sports, will join us at the
bottom of the hour in a few minutes to talk
to Sewan Watson and the Browns.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search
FSR to listen live.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Our next guest is uh, I know I can speak
for Rob on this, one of our favorite former colleagues
at the Old No Doubt, now the co host of
The Ultimate Cleveland Sports Show, which is a great show
out there in northeast Ohio.
Speaker 2 (21:33):
Our man Jay Crawford, Jay.
Speaker 4 (21:37):
Guys, great to talk to you Brew. You talk like
someone who doesn't have CMC and your fantasy football team.
Speaker 11 (21:46):
Right right?
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Do you have him?
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Do you have him?
Speaker 9 (21:49):
No?
Speaker 4 (21:50):
I don't.
Speaker 11 (21:51):
Everybody right now they have.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
No doubt about that. And that runs. That is so
big for the NFL. Man Rob and I talk about it.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
Jay, you know, that's when the NFL job right came
farwards camp.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
And then I think fantasy football is more flip one
things that propelled the NFL to be the king king
of sports.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
I completely agree. It's very easy to get involved with
fantasy football, and it's grown the popularity of the game,
I think exponentially.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
And it's only once a week.
Speaker 6 (22:23):
It's easy to be able to get involved and be
locked in on it, you know, compared to you couldn't
do that for other sports.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
There's just too many games. But yes, I agree, it's
perfect greed.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
And I do want to say this, I still have
Jay and I have not worked on television in about
ten years. Let me see, it's been ten maybe ten
years or twelve years, something like that, and I still
have ties that Jay tied for me that I still
have never unloosened.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Jay.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
I just want you to know, because Jay may is
the best.
Speaker 4 (22:53):
Not I'm glad to hear that my tie jobs have
laughed at least a decade.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Yeah, well, Jay, let's look there. Obviously we want to
talk Toshaun Wiseton. There's so many different tentacles to this story,
but let's start just with the football.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
There have been calls.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
For Jameis Winston in Week two, so you've seen him DeShawn.
He's only played thirteen games in Cleveland, but really maybe
one was good, you know, really good. Whatever, So he
doesn't look good. He looks washed. To be quite honest,
what do you think of DeShawn football wise? Why do
(23:34):
you think he just is not playing well? And do
you think he ever can get that back?
Speaker 4 (23:40):
Well, I'm closer to your line of thinking than anything.
I don't want to say that he's washed. And here's why.
Because of the money they have invested in him. He's playing.
That's it. Whether it doesn't matter how bad he is.
I imagine at some point if you get so ugly that
they find sit him down. But when you guarantee someone
(24:02):
that kind of coin, you've got no choice really but
to play him. And watching you know, you said, maybe
he's played one good game. Brew, I'll tell you I
think he's played one good half. If you go back
and look at the Ravens game from last year, which
was when he injured the shoulder and was done for
the year, his first half was one of the worst
(24:25):
halfs of football I've ever seen him play, and then
he followed that up with one of the best halves
of football I've ever seen him play, and then he
was gone for ten months. So I don't know that
he has any great football left in him. But right
now the Browns are holding a couple of two's, maybe
a seven and a nine, and they've got all their
(24:47):
chips in the middle of the table, and they've got
to let this ride because there's too much at stake financially.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Now they Okay, So I want to stay on that
point about him.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
He's going to play because of the money.
Speaker 1 (24:58):
As you know, they got a good team everywhere else,
that defense, receivers, they always have a good running game,
the offensive line when it's healthy, and I think ste
Fantasy is a good coach.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
The question to me is just dishawan.
Speaker 1 (25:13):
And if they are playing him, and I get it,
you know, it's professional sports. But if they're playing him
just kind of because of the contract, at some point
does that start to and maybe already has rub the
other players the wrong way if they're like, look, Jamis
or somebody else would give us a better chance to win.
We're but you're playing this guy just because of the money, Like, can.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
That lower the morale of the locker room?
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Of course it could, and I think it already has begun.
You're right. But the weird thing about this is there
was a lot of talk at the end of last
season about do they bring back Joe Flacco, And we
had Joe on the show and Joe said, unequivocally, look,
I would love to come back. I still think I
can be a starter in this league. And that likely
(26:03):
is not going to happen in Cleveland, so maybe it's
not the best fit. But if the Browns asked me back,
I would love to come back. And obviously there wasn't
a starting opportunity out there for him. He went to
a place where he thought maybe he could get in
down the road. But whether it's from injury or poor play,
from a young, inexperienced starter. But as we were debating
(26:25):
on that on the show, Jason Lloyd, who writes for
The Athletic and It has a pretty good understanding of
the locker room, said that I can tell you right
now that's not going to happen because the Browns do
not want a situation where as soon as Deshaun's play
turns south that they have to worry about fans or
teammates looking to Joe Flacco, so they wanted to eliminate
(26:49):
that distraction. I want to tell you that that is
a loser's mentality. You're getting rid of a guy so
you can make your starter feel more comfortable, or you
don't want to create a competitive situation that might turn
to some of the guys in the locker room and
some of the fans that you have a loser's mentality,
(27:10):
especially when it's a backup quarterback. If anybody knows how
that position is, it's the Browns who needed five different
quarterbacks last year to make the playoffs, and none of
them played well, with the exception of Flacco.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
Jay I know Deshauan Watson vehemently denied the allegations, and
that's all they are. And I know this is a
civil lawsuit, not a criminal, but this could become a distraction.
Is it something that really I mean, you talk about
the money, but the distraction part. It's one thing you
(27:44):
can live through a distraction if the guy's playing well,
but if he's not playing well. Is there any chance
that we saw what Denver did with Russell Wilson and
they ate an enormous amount of money to move on.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Is there any chance that this can.
Speaker 4 (28:01):
I think there is, rob and I'd be really curious
to see the language in his contract or what is
that moral right? Well, you know, like any personal services contract,
there are morals clauses in the contracts. And what I
would like to know is at what level does it
(28:22):
need to raise to Does the second suspension raise things
to the level of the Browns being able to void
the contract altogether and get out of the financial piece
of it and just move on, because I will tell
you that. And this is there's two parts to this. One.
Was he played not just badly. He looks like he's
(28:46):
completely out of sorts. He looks like he doesn't belong
in the NFL right now. And we had Sean King
on the show and he's going to be on with
us every week just to sort of break down to
Seawn's play. And he said, from his eyes, he's looking
at a guy who was once an apex predator on
the football field, who has lost his confidence, he's lost
(29:08):
his fastball, and because he's played so poorly Sunday and
because the allegations came out Monday, I think for the
first time in his time here, the fans that want
to completely turn the page from him, that's the majority. Now.
It means that you know, from my interaction with fans
and from the thing people that I talk to and
(29:30):
what I'm hearing and seeing, it feels like the fans
are done with him. And it's interesting the Baker Mayfield
chronology in Cleveland. The fans were done with him, and
then the team decided they too were done with him.
And so, you know, is it possible that they do
turn the page and move on from this? Likely? But guys,
(29:52):
remember if they do that, they own this and at
this stage what they've gotten from him and what they
gave and by the way that Houston Texans are taking
out An added a newspaper just practically thanking the Cleveland
Browns for building what they think is the Super Bowl contender.
We gave them three first round draft picks, so and
(30:14):
other draft picks, but it was the big asset was
the three first rounders. So if the Browns pull ripcord
on this, you're looking at potentially the second worst trade
in the history of the NFL, second only to the
Herschel Walker debacle for the Vikings.
Speaker 2 (30:30):
I was going to ask you what's worse.
Speaker 1 (30:32):
I mean, that one obviously led to a lot of
Super Bowls for the Cowboys, but this one, when you
considered a guarantee money, I mean, this is this could
rival that it could.
Speaker 4 (30:45):
It could brew. And it's funny, these contracts become trivial
year by year because time it was the largest guaranteed
contract in the history of American football of the NFL.
And you know, since probably I think Fencer passed at
least once, maybe twice. And although those other contracts that passed.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
It, well, yeah that passed it.
Speaker 4 (31:09):
Yeah that daft and I think maybe some others have
as well. So it almost becomes trivial. But at some
point you have to take inventory of where you stand
today as an organization because of that trade. And you know,
look We're going to find out down the road what
this did for the Houston Texans. Remember that is the
(31:32):
team that bounced the Browns from the playoff last year,
and we had to watch guys running around the field
making one play affter another in that game that went
to the Texans because of the picks he gave them
to get DeShawn Watson.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
That's our man, Jay Crawford. Great stuff. Hey, that's why
I hope you and the family are doing well.
Speaker 9 (31:51):
Well.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Man, we miss you.
Speaker 4 (31:53):
I always miss you. Guys. You're some of my favorite folks.
Great talking to you and don't be strangers.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
And you know, Chris, this is his last week on
the show. Did you know that.
Speaker 1 (32:03):
He's yes, yeah, Well you know I'm doing first things
first on FS one, so I'm just gonna focus on that.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
It's a lifestyle move, you know, it's a life He
just doesn't want to work with me. Jay, that's all right,
I got it, I got it.
Speaker 1 (32:17):
You know what a little more free time with the wife,
you know, hang out.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
And enjoy it.
Speaker 6 (32:22):
But Jay, this sixth year radio show lasted longer than
my marriage, so I'll take it.
Speaker 4 (32:29):
Well, I'm glad to hear that. Chris continued success to
you and Rob, I know you're gonna keep killing it.

Last night three and oh we cashed out again last night.
When now I am now nine, I mean six and three.
I wanna say nine and three. Last night with six

Listeners here on the couple. All right, here we go tonight.
Speaker 6 (34:01):
I'm gonna take the Oakland Age plus one and a
half runs. They're in Houston taking on the astros A's
plus one and a half runs. I got the Padres
minus one and a half. They were in Seattle, taken
on the Mariners. And I'm gonna go with Milwaukee plus
one and a half runs, Chris. They're in San Francisco
taking on the Giants. So I got Milwaukee plus one
(34:22):
and a half, San Diego minus one and a half,
and the Oakland Age plus one and a half. And remember,
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling
you who I bet on.
Speaker 7 (34:33):
Rob.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Here's what I wanted to say to you.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Remember you've always stressed how Deshaun Watson, you know, could
have settled the first lawsuit years ago and none of
that stuff would have come out well with this latest allegation.
It's interesting because these lawyers are the same ones. You know,
Tony Buzzby who's represented the plaintiffs before, and now he's
(35:00):
representing this woman. He said Rob that they reached out
to Watson's attorneys for ten months, Chris, trying to get
this settled. And I mean Watson said he wasn't aware
of that. But you know, ten months, I don't know,
(35:20):
that's hard.
Speaker 6 (35:21):
This was the thing and we talked about it, and
I don't know, you know, I mean, I'm just saying.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
A lot of people, Chris, where there's.
Speaker 6 (35:31):
A lot of money involved, careers, reputations, all that have paid.
We saw that Jerry Jones thing that just came out
with the daughter. He finally had to recognize her right.
But he had paid a long time ago, Chris to
keep that under wraps. Jerry Jones is married, he had
a kid out of outside his marriage.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
He didn't want that out there, right.
Speaker 6 (35:54):
He was taking care of what the daughter wanted to
know and have it acknowledged that.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
He he's her father.
Speaker 6 (36:01):
Yeah, she don't care about their arrangement that the mother
had right right.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
That's why I came out, Chris.
Speaker 6 (36:07):
The mother made an arrangement with Jerry Jones, not her right.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
Right and once she becomes an adult, she can do
what she wants she wants, and she got them to
finally him to finally acknowledge that he's her father.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
And in this case, I'm just saying, this could have.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
Been really, really avoided, had he probably paid off the
first woman and not have it go because once the
story gets out, other women.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
We talked about Bill Cosby.
Speaker 6 (36:34):
You're at home, Chris, you read a story in the
paper and you go, you know what.
Speaker 2 (36:39):
I went to Bill Cosby's house too.
Speaker 6 (36:41):
I had a drink and I woke up disrolled, or
woke up feeling like I was violated.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Right right right, No, no doubt. You get what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (36:51):
No, absolutely, And I mean I guess Deshan feels like,
first of all, maybe he's innocent. You know, we innocent
to a proven guilty. Yep, we're not choosing a side
on this. And he also might feel like, you know,
it's a it's he said. She said, it's just those
two there, So maybe I get it.
Speaker 6 (37:08):
But sometimes Chris, people you settle to avoid all of
the stuff that comes along.
Speaker 2 (37:14):
With and I think everything he's been through that he
would have. I agreed. And here's the thing he said.
Speaker 6 (37:21):
She said, it's fine if it was one person and
you had no paper trail. He had his DMS Chris
and all these women with that I'm talking about with
this last but you know what I'm saying, right with
that one, he knew that was all there, right, I
mean like it wasn't like like it was just him
and some woman and it was just those two and
nobody else was involved. Maybe you could beat that case, don't.
(37:42):
I don't think he ever really thought he was gonna
beat this?
Speaker 1 (37:45):
All right, how much time we got left, Alex thirty seconds?
I was gonna say, Robbi wanted to do this, Dandy
Dines some of the players, the Vikings players, saying they
felt sorry for him.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
He thinks that's a big deal. Robb you go get
on the mic. You do you want to leave this?
Isn't that just funny?
Speaker 6 (38:02):
Like what I'm surprised that is that they would even
waste time talking about another quarterback feel sorry for him
if he calls you up?
Speaker 2 (38:09):
They were probably joking.
Speaker 7 (38:11):
How come nobody felt bad for Zach Wilson but didn't
didn't Danny Duns beat the Vikings in the playoffs?
Speaker 2 (38:16):
He did, so why they feel it for him? Chris?
All right, we got two hours left, y'all know what
to do? Keep it locked.
Speaker 6 (38:23):
I want to Bill Cosby's house too. I had a
drink and I woke up dis rolled
