What's up, buddy g Mattcash. Remember the name a local
rapper from Detroit. You know the Tigers won again. You
know the Tigers won again, Rob because all they do
is win. Well, let them win game one, just one
game two. I like to stay in the present. I'm
just saying why you always want to hop into Dolorean
and look back. You know, you know what they do

(02:00):
with cars, Rod Parker. They make the wind shield massive
so you can focus and look forward and the rear
view is very small. I stay forward, brother, Okay.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
All I'm gonna say is Carpenter hits a three run
home run with two outs in the top of the
ninth and the Tigers win. That's a big wedgond They
got that for me. Yeah, Schooble pitched, you know, their
ace and for for them to get a win when
he pitches, because if it had they lost today without.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
It's basically it. Yeah, you can't.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
You're the opposite of the Dodgers.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
We just hope we can, right, We hope we can
get something with it.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
The Dodgers usually their two best pictures and it's one
one going trouble right there is the best. Weren't looking
great towards the end of the season anyway, but not
good man, good weekend. Uh spent time with the fam.
Got to see a really good documentary by some friends
of mine. Put that out there, and so yeah, so
I'm feeling good yourself, all right, Vegas, a little quick
turnaround Aria thanks to our god, Yep, Lamar Mitchell, Lamar

(02:57):

Fox Sports Radio NFL analyst. Also Henry McKenna, Fox Sports
NFL reporter and columnus. He's an our number two. So

(03:19):

Speaker 3 (03:21):

Speaker 3 (03:44):
She's beautiful, Rob G.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
Thank you, definitely thank God about her name. Her name
is Aria, named after them, not after the hotel. I
joke around like that, but I know. Fun fact if
all the original couple listeners know this, yes.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Yeah, we hear you are.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Her birthday is the original anniversary date of the kapany
Nice September seventeenth.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
No doubt about it. Great to have her in. Of course,
Steve the Seger is at the anchor desk. He'll keep
us updated throughout the program. Elijah, Elijah our social media guru.
He of course will do everything socially and.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
On the ones and two. You know who it is?
What'd you say?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Why you bug? There? You go? All right, let's get started.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
We got a lot of football to talk about from Sunday,
whole lot, and let's start here. Me and you we
both talked about this. We both said the Ravens are
the best team in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (04:40):
They go to Cincinnati, a big game. You know, the
Bengals need to win in order to keep their season
going there now right, they needed to win that game.
Joe Burrow comes out their quarterback, five touchdowns. He has
a bad pick at the end. Okay, he did, but
he had a big day. Five touchdowns and against the
Ravens defense. It's impressive. Okay, watch the entire game. That

(05:01):
was the game I focused in on because I really
wanted to. I'm not a flip around or watch zone. No,
I want to watch a game, and I watched that.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
I struggle with that. I'm told, do you understand, like
if it's not a time meaning like meaning I'm connected
to like the Lions, or you know, like you said,
a certain game, I have to I'm gonna red zone
it because I just want to keep up with everything.
But I do miss sitting down and just watching a
full game at times because you miss little nuances. You'll
just see the score you don't know. Well, this is
how they got. They got because football.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Isn't just a red zone offensively, like players are made defensively,
things are happening in the game, and that just I
just wanted to watch that game.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
I just thought, like, this is a game that matters.

Speaker 4 (05:43):
And for Lamar Jackson to come up with this game
four touchdowns. He had a big fumble that wound up
not hurting them because the Bengals missed the field goal
off of that, and then they came back to win,
and Derek Henry had a big run to set up
the game winning field goal in that and Derek Henry

(06:06):
was one rob G. Do we have sounds from Derek Henry? Okay,
but Derek Henry said Lamar is the best player in
the NFL.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
I mean right in that rob G. Basically what he.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
Said not only say he's the best player in the NFL,
he called him the goat. That tells you that everybody
get a little crazy.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Johnny was doing out y'all, didn't hear it? He said,
he said in Baltimore, making it up because he wasn't
talking about the goat.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Goat.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
He listened. Lamar is great, but he's not the goat.
But this is what you and I have talked about.
That is a deadly one two punch. Historically, you don't
necessarily think of like a one two punch of quarterback
and a running back. You kind of think of a
quarterback to a receiver. But man, that is a scary, scary,
one two punch out.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I'm gonna say that. I know he want to say
he just and I know that's not what he said.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
The goat in Baltimore, there's a quarterback named Johnny Unitas
who was okay for the Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
The franchise is gone. Okay, I'm just saying he's saying
the Baltimore ran. I mean, it's either him or Trendelle
for which one you want? You know, Johnny united, but
the Colts are gone. Man, let me talk about my quarterback. Okay,
that's how you feel right now. You know he listened. Obviously,
those guys are emotional. You're playing with a guy who
I mean, listen, if you're saying most talented, I mean

(07:22):
he's he'd be up there for sure. What he does
is scary. That one two punch is a lot to
deal with because Derrick Henry slow rolling, you, you know,
getting yards, getting yards, producing, having a solid game, but
then the ability he's the biggest, one of the biggest
backs I've ever seen, who can have who gets better late?
You know, brush off the fifty something yard run in overtime.
That's scary. You and I have talked about what the

(07:44):
Baltimore Ravens are and the reason why we both agree
that they're the best team in the NFL is because
they know exactly who they are and when they're at
their absolute peak, you just basically can't beat them. Now,
maybe they'll beat themselves, they'll overthink something, throw a turnover
here and there, but you just can't beat it. And
we're gonna have a conversation later about a team in
a quarterback who said that his team is struggling with

(08:05):
their identity and they have a winning record. For him
to say that that's not what Baltimore has. They don't
have an identity issue. Yeah, I'm not sure you're excited
about that conversation. They're scary, man. And what's crazy about
this is I was talking to Rob Gis said, look,
this is a game historically where Lamar kind of you go,
I can't win that one. You know, this was a
game to get a division rival out of here, make

(08:27):
him one and for push him to the side. And
he won that game. And he won that game. He
won it with his arm. Rob three hundred and fifty yards.
If you touchdowns. Man, he looked incredible, He looked super
has four touchdowns and I just I just love what
I saw from him from that team, and that's why
I'm just big on them, man. I just think they
know exactly who they are, they know what they do,

(08:49):
and you have to line up and try to stop
them if.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
You watch that game for real, and if you had
any doubt, I know he has the two MVPs and
only had missed one vote, and both to those almost
to two time unanimous. There's only been one unanimous before him.
That was Tom Brady, right, so he's been almost two times.
And when you watch how he affects the game, I
don't think if you're honest, just about watching.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
The game, what he does and how he alters stuff.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
He is he And that's what I was talking about,
me wanting to focus in and really watch him, not
just the highlights because there's a lot of new arces
in got three yard run that will never make a HI,
but it was important because jointed at what he had
to do. And I don't know, I mean, people could
say Patrick Mahomes and that would be off of reputation

(09:38):
that ain't off of right now, you know, what I mean.
And nobody's saying that Lamar's career is better than Patrick.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
No, Patrick has super Bowls, he has.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
MVPs in his own right, you know what I mean,
He's well more accomplished. But if you're being honest about
right here, right now, who's playing better and who else
would you look and say is the MVP?

Speaker 1 (09:59):
Josh Allen had a chance? But what I tell you?

Speaker 3 (10:01):
What did I tell you about Josh Allen?

Speaker 4 (10:03):
Like he's regular season dead to me because I've seen
those big games and then I've seen the he was
nine for.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Thirty, Yeah that was That's awful. He's too good nine
for thirty. He's too good for that. So so you know,
James Daniels, Jaydon Daniels is in the mix for MVP.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
He won't be.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I'm just stump throwing out. But listen, it's Lamar Jackson's
to lose because he's gonna affect the game. He's gonna
give you two hundred plus yards passing Dak near one
hundred if he wants to running, and his team is
gonna win. They're the type of team none of us
are shocked if they run off six to eight straight right,
and you look up and you're like, I remember the
time we two and two.

Speaker 4 (10:40):
And that game, right there was one that most teams don't.
You fall behind, you're on the road. If the opposing
quarterback is having a day five touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Is a Burrow looked great and he has a few
times this season he's looked great. Jamar Chase looked ridiculous
putting up crazy numbers almost two hundred yards a couple
of touchdowns. But I would say this about the Bengals.
If there's you and I had this conversation, if there's
a team to get down all three, you would still
believe could could come back. We were like, oh, it'd
be the Ravens, it'd be the the Bengals. Well, one

(11:12):
of them have done that and gotten the ball rolling.
I'll tell you what, every week for the next five
six weeks, nobody wants to play the Bengals, Like, I
know they're won in four, but you're gonna have Man, are
the Panthers available? But the only the only issue with
the Bengals is their defense. Defense is letting them down.
Because this is the second or third game where they
put up crazy numbers. Right now, they're leading the league offensively,

(11:33):
Joe Burrow's leading the league in pretty much every quarterback
statistic or category, but they just can't find a way
to win. And again, Lamar Jackson has had a history
of a couple of times a year he'll lose a game.
You're like, nah, you needed that, or you had the lead,
or you if you would have just kept being Lamar,
you would have won. I was very, very happy and
pleased to see him find a way to get that

(11:55):
w and make clutch throws. Rob not just run it.
He may clutch use his legs when he needs to.
And again, you're leaning on that all game and knowing
Derrick Henry any moment could bust a forty fifty sixty yarder. Man,
they're they're scary that anybody who looks.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
At that guy, really I'm talking about, really watches him
and doesn't think he's a game changer, one of the
best playing Derrick Henry, Lamar, I think you're crazy, nobody.
That is still just because he hasn't won in the
playoffs yet. Oh he lost to Mahomes.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
And he's not gonna get there. He's got he will.

Speaker 4 (12:28):
Get there, but that doesn't Right now, we're talking about
the season and during the season, they got off to
an oh and two start that could have easily won
those two games.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
And now look what it a.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's a credit to him in that organization. Nobody really
panicked when they were owing to you know. I mean,
if I'm sure, if you're a super duper diehard Ravens fit,
maybe good, but all of us are like nah, You
and I both sat here and like, nah, they'll be
fine because you know, if you took a ten game span,
they're gonna go seven and three of those ten, you
know what I mean, and get right back to where
they need to be. So you were overly worried, and uh,

(12:58):
they just yeah, man, I just a big fan of
what they're doing. And if they know who they are,
and when Lamar plays like that, do forget about it
all right?

Speaker 4 (13:04):
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. It's real simple,
Auto Ravens the best team in the NFL, and is
Lamar the best player in the NFL?

Speaker 3 (13:16):
Right now? It's real simple.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
And if not, who do you have as the best
player or the best team.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
It's clear to.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Me at Calvin, Yeah, the only person we both are
on the same page on this.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Unfortunately we are because listen, I ain't here to play
fake radio and act like that.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
We'll never do that.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Yeah, Lamar Jackson is the best. His team's been the best.
You and I have been sitting there for two or
three weeks now and they continue to prove it.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
But the other people trust me.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Listen now, on the defensive side of the ball, remember
we had that conversation.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
He really play defensively, but they've been struggling well.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
As far as best player, there's some guys out there.
If you said I get Lamar, but I love TJ. Watt,
you saw what he does. If you say a Hutchinson like,
there's a handful of guys, I'm not mad. If you pick,
I'll give you Lamar, but I absolutely understanding because some
guys outside of a quarterback, those are who I pick
best players in.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
All right, we'll continue the conversation with you. Next, it
is The Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday, Rob
Parker kelvin Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Justin and Kansas. You're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up Justin?

Speaker 1 (15:41):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (15:42):
I want to know how you two can sit there
with a straight face and say that the Ravens are
better than the Kansas City Chiefs when the Chiefs are
beating them twice now once in the championship game.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Now, we're not.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Talking about a lifetime achievement. That's not what we're talking about.
We're talking about, goody, We're talking about what do you
talk Have you watched the chick this year?

Speaker 3 (16:03):
Have you watched the Chiefs?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (16:05):
And I watched him beat the Ravens.

Speaker 4 (16:07):
Okay, So you watched the Chiefs and you heard you
saw where the player's foot was on the line on
the last play of the game.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Is that that's the.

Speaker 2 (16:14):
Game you're talking about?

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Okay? But it ain't like they ran over them.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
It ain't like they The Chiefs have been unbelievable and
and unbeatable. They're lucky to be four and O. It's
the worst four and no team I've ever seen. Patrick
Mahomes has been awful. He's got Yes, I still think
the Ravens are better. Did you see what happened in
Cincinnati in a game that mattered the most of the Bengals?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Did you watch the game?

Speaker 1 (16:42):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (16:42):
The Bengals are a good team. And and what did what.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
Did the Ravens do on the road against the division
rival that was trying to survive for their season?

Speaker 3 (16:51):
What did they do?

Speaker 2 (16:53):
That's the biggest win of.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
The NFL season for anybody. Get ordered, wake up?

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Stop it.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
You can't help it.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
You're about the Chiefs and they are.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
The Chiefs have not played well this year.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
Stop with Stop.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
Last year the chief went scoreless in the second half
against Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Stop it. I get it. They would no, I get it.

Speaker 4 (17:17):
But you also have to look at how these things
play out. And you can't tell me by watching the
Chiefs this year that they're better than the Ravens because
they're not. I don't care what the record is. I
don't care what the record is. Did you watch Sunday?

Speaker 3 (17:34):
Hello?

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Is this on?

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Did you watch? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
I'll say this, you know, I've said it all season long.
The Chiefs have put themselves in position to absolutely have
calls like that. It makes sense. I'm not even mad
at the call because to their credit, they have beat
the Ravens when it mattered most to their credit. No,
but I know I'm with you. I've already said I
think the Ravens are the best team. But I get
the idea that they keep winning games by how whatever

(18:00):
means necessary. They be the Chiefs, So I get the call.
It's not crazy. Do you remember the Chiefs are the
best team. They're the raigning champs and they're undefeated. But
if you're asking me who's playing better football, If you're
asking me who do I feel comfortable and you know,
let's just line up two teams this Sunday, I'm saying
the Ravens, and I think they have the most spectacular
player right now. If you're asking historically, if you're asking

(18:21):
whose career ultimately it will be Patrick Mahomes. But right
now Lamar Jackson is incredible. The Ravens to me, have
an identity where they know exactly who they are. That's
why they're the best to me. But I'm not mad.
If you say the Chiefs it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
It doesn't because and I'm gonna say this, because people
get caught up in what they've done, which I understand
No one's saying that the Ravens are better than them
or Patrick Mahomes's career. But you can't watch those Chiefs
games this year and think the team is playing well.
You could ask Patrick Mahomes it hasn't been fun.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
It comes down to wins and losses. So that's why
I would it. Doesn't I tell you why you're fair.
Let's park.

Speaker 4 (19:00):
It was eleven and oh, rob g a couple of
years ago. Weren't they eleven and oh? And nobody thought
they were the best team in the league. And that's
my point is you can win games and not be
the best team.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
But they don't have a record of having three Super
Bowl But the.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
Chicks are getting caught up in the past.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
I'm talking about Baltimore.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
I'm talking about that season they were eleven and oh
and nobody thought they're the best team.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
I just if there's a team, I'm not mad if
you say it's the Chiefs. They've earned that right, I'm
not mad if you say that. I just think what
I see week in week out. I like what I
like from Baltimore. Uh and they I love that they
know exactly who they are Andy and Washington. You're on
the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up Andy, what's
up Andy?

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Hey? I agree that the Ravens are currently they're.

Speaker 6 (19:46):
Hot, but I have a question for you guys.

Speaker 4 (19:48):
Yes, what do you think what could make this year
different for the Ravens' we're not.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
We're not there yet.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Wait a minute, we're not there yet, and the same
I'm just gonna for Andy, this is the same thing
they said about the Boston Celtics. Okay, they can't win,
can't win, They've been to the Covered Final, they've been
to them. Okay, they can't win. Guess what they did
this year. Some teams don't win until they win. So
the same argument you're making for Baltimore is what they

(20:21):
made against Tatum and Brown. Go back and listen. That's
the same thing in Denver, right with the Joker.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
Oh he's the NVP.

Speaker 4 (20:30):
They can't win a championship, and then he won a championship.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
I've all all I'm saying. So this is my to
shout out to the caller. This is what I've said,
and Rob has seen me now for almost four weeks.
Say this. You keep showing up to the dance and
Eventually you'll get in and you'll get on the dance
floor and you'll win. So they keep showing up now
to answer that they also have Derreck Henry. They have
Derrick Henry last year, and Dereck Henry has lived up

(20:54):
to the calling, lived up to the building. Sometimes you
can get these free agent signings obj being won. He
went to a few different places. He was like, oh,
they got old and he doesn't live up.

Speaker 4 (21:02):
Derrick Henry has lived, but he made it like it
was the same team from a year ago.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
And that's my point is.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
That he's just automatically because they lost you last year,
believes that they're.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Gonna lose last year. They got to the a FC Championship.
That's my biggest thing on the play away a few
players away from winning. So get me to the AFC
or the NFC Championship again. Gave me a shot to
win it. I'll take that any year as a general manager,
head coach, or owner of a team. Let's go there.

Speaker 4 (21:28):
Let's squeeze in TJ real quick. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio. You know, I mean, I'm
worked up.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
On the early bro.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
We got a long show, No, no, I got energy
for all three hours.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Rob.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
I'm not trying to get your work anymore. I got
it to disagree, man, and there's only one reason I
would disagree. I think the Raiders defense is horrible and
even worse than it was last year.

Speaker 3 (21:51):
Horrible.

Speaker 1 (21:52):
I can't give you. I'm not with horrible. I think
I want to TJ to your point. I think they
have gotten lasadaisical at times, because I think the scoreboard
watched you know what I mean, where they like the
rail they took their foot go hang out. Ain't no
way they coming back. We'll be doing tonight. I think
they have had some of those.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
DJ.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
You can't tell me.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
With Derrick Henry on that offense, you pick your poison there.
I don't know if you watched Lamar yesterday. There was
a play where he knocked down to stiff that he
stiffed on two guys and then to incredible touchdown throw.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Go watch that play, TJ. Did you see the player
we're talking about? You should go watch that.

Speaker 6 (22:33):
Superman or sperm incredible quarterback in the league. That defense,
I'm just here.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
You listen TJ now, TJ, TJ and other thing too.
Sometimes what TJ is not considering last point before we
get to trending is the opposite of what we're seeing
with the Chiefs. The Chiefs are leaning on that defense.
The Chiefs are relying on that defense because they ain't
boy scoring a bunch of points. You Patrick Mahomes not

(23:01):
going crazy with the numbers. Travis Kelsey hasn't e been
in so but thankfully the Chiefs defense has kept them
in games. And right now it's kind of the reverse
for the Ravens, who historically have been defensive minded. Now
you've got the offense getting a job done. So to me,
I don't really care as long as you both are
there and you finding ways to win. There's a quarterback
situation who doesn't even think the team knows their identity.

(23:22):
Will tell you about that.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Rob Parker, Kelvin Washington, The Odd Couple on a Magic
City Monday. There is something we've for the duration of
this show that's two point zero version.

Speaker 4 (23:44):
There's been one of the few things that we've kind
of disagreed on is the handling or just the idea
of Justin Fields and what he is in Pittsburgh still
get to get the little smile off your face.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
I don't like it. My thought has been, Hey, I
like what he's been doing, playing the best football of
his career. They were winning, and I just thought, you
don't need to break that glass of for emergency in
Russell Wilson anytime soon.

Speaker 2 (24:07):
Now.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
A couple of games in lost, a couple he played well,
they didn't cost him the game. However, he does question
Rob that did they know who they are? If they
know the identity?

Speaker 7 (24:16):
Take a listen, what are the identity options in football?
I've never heard of a team having an identity. I
think we have an identity. I just don't know, you
know what it is like, I never heard, uh, necessarily
an option for you know, an identity. I think we
ran the ball well today, Like I said, I think
we just misshots and you know, shot ourselves in the

(24:38):
in the foot again. So you know, I don't think,
you know, we're one of those teams looking for our identity.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
I think we know who we are.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
Yeah, the identity is a team that that blew that
blew a golden opportunity at home against the Cowboys. Who
would it's in two of their best defensive players, who
Dak Prescott when they turned the ball over three times,
rob g was a three turnover yeah, and.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
The Cowboys can't stop the run. He said.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
They ran the ball well, not well enough, because the
Cowboys can't stop the run. That should have been a
win at home and they didn't get it done. Calvin,
if you don't look at that game with the Cowboys
three turnovers, their two best defensive players can't stop the run,
and you don't win that game at home, there's a problem.
There ain't no way you can look at that and say, oh,

(25:33):
everything is good.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
No, everything's not good. That was a good game for
the Cowboys. They kept fighting, they ate themselves, ran the
ball pretty well too. Final they might have found a
little spark there and their new back. They ran the
ball well. Dak made the plays he needed to make
him and CD. I don't know what's going on with
him and CD Lamb. They got some beat to be
yelling at each other all the time. The second or
third game now where we've seen them have moments. So
I'm not calling him money market.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Crazy.

Speaker 1 (25:59):
I'm not dealing with you that. Hey you know what, dude,
get your invest on, Get your invest on. For people saying,
but I'm still not overly worried. And what I mean
is specifically with Justin Fields where I'd lie to blame.
It's not so much on Justin Fields. I blame it
on the Pittsburgh Steelers not realizing or maybe they haven't
realized that yet you can. It's time to open up

(26:20):
that playbook a little bit. It's time to time to
open up the play well they should, though he hasn't
been the issue.

Speaker 3 (26:26):
You got at least he got one hundred and thirty
two yards.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
But he wasn't. But if you watch the game, I
know you they were dropped passes.

Speaker 5 (26:32):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
He threw some beautiful Chris collins Worth talked about it,
do some great passes that for whatever reasons, the guys
dropped them. He's not drop balls. They do, but recording
when you drop first down catches, that hurts the team.
I think they need to open up the offense a
little bit more. I think they need to start to
evolve the offense a little bit more and realize you
got a guy who's not gonna hurt you. He hasn't

(26:54):
turned the ball over like that, and go ahead and
let him get loose. He's showing you he can make
great passes, especially when he gets the ball out with
it too two and a half seconds. So I'm still
that mad at Justin Field, and I still don't think
you need to break the emergency case and go to
Russell Wilson. I think Justin Fields is unjust fine. The
defense kept them in the game, and again they need
to focus on exploring more with the offense opening it

(27:15):
up some more pickings, gotta get to picking the ball
up with his hands, and I think they'll be fine.
I'm not overly worried. I don't think Mike Tomlin is either.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Yeah. I think if they lose another game and they.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
Doesn't matter how they lose, because that wasn't it was
they should It was more of a you should have won,
but it wasn't a horrible loss. If they lose a
horrible I'm just throwing this at you.

Speaker 4 (27:36):
I just think if they lose a third in a row,
they'll have to start to think, like something's not right here.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
We need to they needed to capitalize more. Would you
would you know?

Speaker 1 (27:45):
I mean they had an opportunity to out. For those
who you know saw the game, Dallas comes all the
way down against to their own to the two, I
should say, getting ready to score some bam ball loose.
Great play by the defensive linebacker for the Packer, for
the Packers, for the Steelers, and I'm like, this is
totally Cowboys esque, where you finally got a chance to
win one. This is how Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh's you wins a tough,

(28:07):
ugly game. And I was like, this is totally how
it gets Donny and credit that jumps on the ball,
makes a huge fourth down, had to have a touchdown.
So for me, I'm giving more credit to the Cowboys
then I'm dissing the Steelers. I thought they stayed in
the game, so it always doesn't have to be because
you lose the game, you're the worst team ever.

Speaker 3 (28:25):
You lost the game, not the worst team.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
Boys found a way to stay in it, stay and
stop to run enough and found a way to win.
And Dak made plays when he needs to, So I
give them credit more than I'm mad at the Steelers.

Speaker 4 (28:37):
I can believe that if if Dallas didn't have the
three turnovers and missing two of their best defensive play
like that, you're you're the Steelers, You're at home, do
you know what I mean? Like, that's the game scary,
that's a game you need to lock up.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
Here's knows or interesting to watch. It's gonna be the
Cowboys once DeMarcus Lawrence and Michael Parsons are back, you
know what I mean? Like, all right, they've had a
couple of solid defensive games. Now it's without them. It's like, uh,
if they come back and the defense goes back to
letting people get one hundred yards easy rushing the ball

(29:11):
and all that, then that'll be some Uh, that'll be
some that'll be some issues for sure. If all of
a sudden, I'm like, hold on, my two best defensive
players come back and now our defense got worse. What
the heck is up? Do you buy any issue with CD?
See here you go with CD LAMB and uh and
and DAK is just it's just just overreacting. Hey, it

(29:33):
happens every year, guys. You know we've seen quarterbacks and
receiver has moments or is there something to this?

Speaker 4 (29:39):
I think there's a little bit because it's just too relevant,
you know, like too out there, like it.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Keeps happening, Like, ceed, apologize after the first one, remember.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Showing it, because it keeps happening. I mean, you gotta
control your emotions. Understand, it's a long season. We're only
week five of seventeen games. Like, come on, it's a
long way to go. You just said it. Get your
thing going, start playing well, win four or five games
in a row, and that stuff is behind you.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
So yeah, CD CD is already apologized. More like, all right, man,
stop you apologize and quit making it happen. And again,
I'm not all to overblow those moments because they happen
all the time, you know what I mean. Like, we're
out here, competitive, passionate, trying to win. We're gonna disagree.
We're gonna have moments, even when you see coaches and
quarterbacks get into it. I don't overly buy it, but
when it starts to happen regularly, then maybe there is
something to it a little bit. You and I. Also,

(30:26):
something we did we disagreed on is the handling of
a particular quarterback. Now it might be time to make
a change. We'll tell you what we're talking about. It
is again, Roth Parker, Kelvin, Washington, Fox Sports Radio.

just a little that didn't overdo you. The lights was

got the young boys pants on? Young boy pants is crazy,
but that's what you know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (32:33):
He had on the rapper the lights real. Yeah, he
had on the NBA John Johns Yo.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
Mary, thank you. I was trying to do something different.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
You did you ACCOMPLI. All you need now is a
grown man gold chain?

Speaker 3 (32:46):
Is that it? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (32:47):
Not nothing crazy, just a nice grown gold man chain,
which you know.

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I got a guy. We I'll go with you because
I'm about to update mine now that I've been messing
with y'all, you know, give me a new Hey. But
I'm proud of you, brother, thank you. You might have
what list. Every year I'm with you at N A
b J. I need to see that. No, I know
we'll stand it this summer. But this year and this year.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
In Cleveland, you know, next year in Cleveland, strippers taught
you how to how to dress. Oh look at that.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
Wow, Marry ain't lying, that's what dad? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (33:17):
That was yeah, yeah, hey look Mary, Wow. You know
he smell I can smell him through the picture on TV.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
I was like, who is that? I'm like, oh my god,
I'm blowing my head up.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
No, that was definitely a hey daddy, where you've been
out there?

Speaker 3 (33:34):
That was where you had that. Yeah, the real t
I outfit.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
Actually, I'm not even sure somebody didn't go shopping with you,
Rob Parker didn't just walk by that mankin And.

Speaker 4 (33:43):
Let me tell you those pants. I'm the last thing
and we look at the Cecle City. The pants. I
bought a norse from rack. Okay, originally seven hundred dollars
for the pants. You see the white piping one, believe it,
and they were on sale for eighty dollars, and I
was like, I'm getting do you know the brand of
the pants.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
Music International or something like that, like a lot of
you know, like something.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
I mean, that's what designer everything. I told you he
had on the rapper Delights.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Wear that outfit to Magic City.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
No, don't wear that. You're gonna come back broke. Yeah,
she gonna be on your head all night.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Bands will make her Dad well.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
He spent a band on some pants. Goodness gracious, all right,
shechl City. Come on, Rob, tell me is you look?
You went from looking excited about your outfits and now
I'm nervous.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
You don't look so excited. I don't know, Shacko City.
Here we go, Friday zero and three. I'm on a
bath slump man. And this was dropped earlier by Elijah,
of course on social media. So I had the Guardians
plus one and a half, but they lost by three,

(34:54):
so that I lost that one. The Yankees minus one
and a half. That's the game going on right now.
Now they have two men on in the first inning
with one out, and I have the Saints plus five
and a half against the Chiefs. Now, this will be
a close game, and the Saints could lose, but I
think by three if they lose. So that's why I

(35:16):
got the five and a half, So Saints plus five
and a half, the Guardians plus one and a half.
I lost that, and I have the Yankees minus one
and a half. And remember, I'm not telling you who
to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 1 (35:28):
You A definitely listening to you, or who we should
bet on struggling. Hey, that's why he brought up Mary
outfit right there. He wanted to change the subject. He
didn't want to get to Shekel City. Hey, ye see
what I had on that You were a fly brother?

Speaker 4 (35:41):
No text me to Kevin Fraser, my body, Kevin Fragel
last Yeah, I was fly bro.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
I'm not gonna tell a lie to you. Man. You're
looking fly right there. All right? So, Drake May, we've
been having this conversation, you and I for about a
week or so now of when do you start him?
And you got some rumblings that heard a Patriot reporter
said that there's a uh, full blown, all a blown
mutiny right now because some players like yo, put this

(36:06):
this kid in. We all know he's better. My whole
take was, I clearly believe them, and even even h
Giro Mayo has said he's looked better. My thing was,
if you knew the season was a wash, you knew
this wasn't gonna be great, you knew this season was
gonna be our guy getting his head beat in, then
why not sit him for a while, let us see,
let him get better, let him keep learning the game,

(36:27):
sit behind the professional in Jacoby Brissett, and when he's ready,
when you're sorry, you know, get him in there or
wait till next season. But my thing was, basically, let
him get some reps towards the end of the season
a little bit late, I said, around week eight, eight nine,
just so that he's not getting beat and becomes gunshy.
And you know, you you you wear him out so early,
And so now Giro Mayo's saying, you know, hey, maybe

(36:49):
there will be a time here soon where we see
Drake may I'm not mad at the way they've handled it.
Given him five six, seven weeks whatever, and to ultimately
beat to get his feet away, get see what your
team is, then throw him in there. I don't think
you have to throw this guy in the fire when
you know your team is gonna be trash.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Anyway.

Speaker 4 (37:05):
See, I disagree with you, and I said, if he
can play, he should play. And it's not fair to
everybody else. I hear what you're saying, like trying to
develop a guy, But there are other players who are
playing for whatever they're playing for and their careers and there,
and they don't want to be a part of wasting
their time with the guy who they know is playing
but ain't gonna get you anywhere. So they see this

(37:26):
young guy in practice and he was drafted high and
all the other stuff, and.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
You go, well, how come he's not playing. We want
to compete, We want to have a chance to win.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
You don't know, it's not set in stone that this
that this guy can't turn out to be something special,
you know what I mean? And and uh and elevate
the team or whatever. And that's why I was saying
to you, I don't believe that Mayo has an unlimited
amount of time. You you gotta start like when you

(37:56):
start losing, ain't nobody sitting there going, oh, well you
got a quart up, I ain't playing. We'll wait for
three years. That's why I thought that that's not how
it go. I thought it was fortunate for him right
because you have in your back pocket. I haven't even
started my guy yet, so that buys you more time
because you're like, oh and I got my guy.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
That can you know? Finally say, hold on, the real
season starts when this kid come in. That my real
tim starts already. Kid comes in. I no, I get you.
But people are like, oh, well this is bad. Like
you start to look at it and go what is this?
Why is he not playing? And then the people start
to question you on why haven't you made the move.
If he ends up being the guy, nobody will care
he didn't play for six or seven weeks. Rob says,

(38:34):
it is time. It's simply time. We'll tell you what
we're talking about. It's Fox Sports Radio.
