What up?
Speaker 6 (02:34):
Everybody?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Man?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I'll tell you what. We got some juicy stuff me
and you have had. We've been doing this now. This
is week four. Yeah, this end of this week will
be a month. Yes, stuff, it's kind of falling in
our lap. You know what I mean, Well, set it down,
I mean, you know what I meant, let me, let
me backtrack that a little bit. We're having these I
thought you were married.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
I am Mary. That's what I'm saying. You know, I
make sure you didn't get any ideas. I'm just tolling.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, I'm just saying, we get these amazing stories you
and I. Not one is sad. Obviously you don't want
anybody to pass away. But we got Pete Rose right
in the air now just a few hours earlier. Today
you get the story and what's going on with the Jets.
So we've got some some juicy stuff that just kind
of happens for us.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
No doubt.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Let's welcome in the odd couple crew, because we wouldn't
be able to do this fine radio program without him.
Rob g of course is our producer, Alex is our engineer,
Brian Finley is a guest, and of course Elijah is
our social media guru.
Speaker 6 (03:33):
And yes, already dang, And before we get to.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
The jets and what's happened, and the Mets are for
nothing and they're going to the bottom of the seventh
they just added two more runs. It was two to nothing,
bases loaded all walks, and then of course a two
out hit and there you go four nothing Mets over
the Phillies game three nds in Queens.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
All right, let's go here. The Jets they did the deed.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Yep, they fired Robert Sala, who's the head coach of
the Jets no more. They escorted him out with security,
which is if you've been in this business or whatever,
this is not new. I know TV anchors who have
been giving a box you know this and said you
got thirty minutes to get your stuff together and we'll
walk out.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
It's it isn't always, especially if it's not end of
season or some celebratory you've been here for twenty years.
Speaker 6 (04:28):
When it's just business. We need you up out.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Of here, and they mean and they're not playing man.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
They don't care. It's a lot of interesty.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
My wife is in the farmer sales world. They come, hey,
we're taking the car. You know you get company cars.
You look out, some beep beep backing out, like hey, hey, young,
what the world is going on?
Speaker 4 (04:46):
It was a pr guy long time with the Pistons,
and the same thing. The time came they were going
to fire him.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
So he had a company car all that They called
him a cab took the car.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
It can be brutal, took his stuff out of the car,
put it in plastic bags, do it in the cab,
and we're like, we're taking the car.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
Whatever not go clean it out, watch and bring it back.
But no, nothing, they don't.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
This is so I'm just saying when people go, oh,
the Jet security, this is this is this is how
people do business.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
All right, But can I I'm gonna stand up. Okay,
all right, stand up, and I'm going to applaud the Jets.
Speaker 6 (05:26):
Okay, let me hear it.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Why first I joint in on that because I think
I'm gonna feel differently.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
They are a terrible franchise and a made mistake after
mistake after mistake. This wasn't a mistake. And my point
is the season is in graph and reach. The season
ain't over. I told you before two or three, if
they beat Buffalo, I think they played what Monday night,
they beat Buffalo be in first place. So so you
(05:58):
don't want to chuck the season. You don't want to
say we'll give them to the end of the year. No,
We've seen enough after three years and the bad record.
They can't run the ball, false starts, all the other stuff.
Aaron Rodgers hasn't played great, but there's other things problems
on the teams as well. And I'm saying, if you're
ever gonna make the move, Kelvin, it's now the season.
(06:22):
The division is up for grabs. Miami doesn't have a
quartered of it. The Patriots are gonna start a rookie quarterback.
They're making that move because they can't have no traction.
They can't do anything. They can't score it against. Right,
So those two teams are out of the mix. You
only have one team in front of you. And Buffalo
started out as a house on fire, and now they've
lost their last two. The division is there. You got
(06:45):
a forty year old quarterback. You gotta try to do
whatever you can to make this happen. For once the
Jets got it right. How much longer do you need
to and say, well, you know, we don't get what
we don't want to. Jane want to get the guy
Jams keep all of that. It has been bad. I
(07:08):
never thought he was a head coach, Sala I didn't.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
That's I did.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
I just did not.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
He doesn't reek of Andy Reid, of Bill Belichick, of
Mike Tomlin, and so on and so far.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
I understand that.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
But let me let me bring you back down a
little bit. I'm glad you you're sitting down, you and
your little Arnold Palmer.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
Here.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
Here's where I challenge you.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
I don't I'm not gonna sit up here and be
a public defender for Robert Salam.
Speaker 6 (07:29):
That's not what I'm gonna do.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
However, I am gonna say, this is what happens when
you go all in like we've talked about, and they're
all in on the Aaron Rodgers experiment, so they have
to do things that they normally wouldn't do. They normally
don't fire coaches in middle of a season. They don't
normally do that. They've never done that, at least under
this ownership. You know what they just did. They fired him,
(07:51):
Adam Gage. You know what he didn't do, get fired
middle of the season or in the middle of a season. Now,
Robert Sala definitely what in the solution, but he also
wasn't a problem.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
I could not disagree with you more.
Speaker 6 (08:04):
Here's why.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Though the one stability on this team was their defense.
It was either great for a couple of seasons, including
last season and the season before that, or this season,
it's been what's keep kept them in games because it Shirley,
wasn't Nathaniel Hackett in his offense, and it sure ain't
been forty year old former MVP because when I'm looking
at the offense, it's twenty third and first downs, twenty
(08:27):
seventh in scoring, and twenty seventh to total yards. So
when he's getting ready to rumors have it the reports
are he was gonna let Nathaniel Hackett go. Then the
owner had a conversation with him and then obviously with
Aaron Rodgers, which he said Aaron Rodgers had nothing to
do with it. Now, Nathaniel Hackett has a job and
Salad doesn't. But I'm just saying that's the one consonant
(08:48):
was that their defense kept them in games. Their defense
was the thing that had them giving a chance to win.
The offense surely wasn't it. So the one guy who
has been doing his job pretty well is the guy
that's let go. That shows me, hey, whatever Aaron Rodgers
needs to succeed, that's what they're gonna do. And I'm
not saying that's the worst thing in the sense of
(09:09):
you've already made your bed, you gotta lay in it
with him.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
But that's how I view this.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
They're all in, fully all in on the Aaron Rodgers experiment,
including not letting Nathaniel Hackett go and instead letting Robert
Salad go, which to me, all right, good luck his
Why your argument holds no weight, zero a lot of weight, No,
no way holds early eighties oprahweight Because since twenty twenty two,
the Jets have had the worst offense in the NFL
(09:32):
by mile, way before Aaron Rodgers ever got there. They're
thirty second in points, thirty second in touchdowns per game,
thirty seconds in turnovers, thirty seconds in EPA, and thirty first.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
In yards per you're saying this is pre Rodgers, Yes,
then you're approving the point.
Speaker 6 (09:48):
This is the offense ain't working. No has that had
to do with the defense.
Speaker 4 (09:52):
Because he's a head coach. This is before the Hackett
got there. This is before Aaron Rodgers got there.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
This is a long.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
So I bring an Aaron Rodgers, who you believe is
the almost greatest of all time. I give him everything
he wants offensive coordinator, former players. An issue is the
defensive side of the ball that's been either good to great.
Speaker 6 (10:13):
Help me understand what.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
You're saying that nothing has changed, that that's the problem.
That he's in charge and nothing has changed since he
got there. And my point is that you have to
at some point decide to make a change. You can't
continue to do the same thing. And he's the one.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
He's not the.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
Defensive coordinator anymore. That's his specialty. Yes, okay, but he's
not the defensive coordinator.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
He's the head coach.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
And if we're gonna give him credit when they win
eleven games, right, even though you have an offensive coordinator
defensive coordinator, the head coach would get credit for the
eleven or twelve wins.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
I'm gonna give him the blame when they don't win.
Speaker 6 (10:52):
And that don't work.
Speaker 1 (10:53):
You know what, you can give him walk like they
give him the blame because you're forced to give him
the blame.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
No change.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
But we all know what the issue is. I just
sold you Robert Slain the solution. I ain't gonna sit
up there and act like, don't let him go.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
He's a man. I'm just saying, Aaron Rodgers, got you
acting all kinds of difference.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
No, it's not you.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I'm talking about the ownership. I never let a coach go.
Adam Gates was terrible. Adam Games kept a job the
whole season. The ownership said, we have weapons. Are you
kidding me? This has to be fixed. What side of
the ball on the offensive side of the ball. Okay,
we have weapons. Can't even run the ball? Was supposedly
fixing the offensive line. Did you see this game Sunday?
(11:32):
They were all over Aaron Rodd. You can't he did,
and listen, you ain't where they had no choice. You
can't let Aaron Rodgers go at this point, it's not
like that's not even a possibility.
Speaker 6 (11:43):
So all I'm three.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
It ain't about letting Aaron Rodd.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
You're two and three, and then you're one game behind
the division. You're two and you're trying to fix what's wrong,
and it ain't the players. You gotta get somebody else
in there. And Robert Saler, you can see that all
you want, dude. Ain't nobody hiring him, Ain't nobody running
to hire him as a head coach.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
No defensive coach. That's a specialty.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
And again, never get another opportunity after you see what
they've done over you too.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
You've coached, You've been in this game long enough to
know that that that is necessarily the case. But again,
I'm not about to sit up here and argue with
you that Robert Salah is again the next great head coach.
All I'm simply saying is this is an example of
the fall guy. Somebody got to be the fall guy
in this situation, and it was him. And I've been
telling y'all for two weeks now, the Aaron Rodgers experiment
(12:33):
you made. They put all the chips on them, and
these are the types of moves and results you have
to do when you've done all that with Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 6 (12:42):
We knew this was coming.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
We thought the thought about this and later on the
hour number two.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
But eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine, did the
Jets make the right decision to fire ahead? Coach Robert
Solli will continue this conversation next with you.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
It is the odd couple.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
And you know what, Kelvin what they said to Robert
sala on his way out.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
They surely didn't say stick and steak.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
No, they said, nbce you later. That's what they said.
Speaker 4 (13:12):

Date?

Speaker 8 (14:31):
Again.
Speaker 9 (14:31):
I haven't called you guys with Calvin Washington.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
But here's here's the first thing.
Speaker 9 (14:41):
Calvin Washington, he ca, okay, whatever, But I'm like Rob Parker.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
And Ben Wash Ben Wash so washed up, guys, This
and the other salas washed out.
Speaker 8 (14:51):
He's done, And honestly, I think it's the best.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Thing that can happen for the Jets.
Speaker 9 (14:55):
Don't really care for him, but you don't know who
they're gonna get. But at the same time, there is
going to be a juice in them once he's gone,
and that whole team is going to be like the
Raiders last year, or you know what I mean. And
yet him and appears in there, and like, dude, I
don't see.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Him doing anything super special.
Speaker 8 (15:13):
They need a lot of help on the O line, right.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
They need but but but they're still in It is
a big thing. It's not like it's not like they're
oh and five and the season's over, and then you
can look and say, well, why are you doing it now?
Speaker 5 (15:25):
Thanks for the call, Darren, appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Let's go to uh Eric in New Hampshire. You're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (15:34):
What's up? Eric?
Speaker 7 (15:35):
Hi, guys, real quick. I'm pretty sure Thala is more
of a you know, a defensive minded guy, and the
defense was doing pretty well and they promoted a defensive
coordinator for the coach. So still leaves me the question
what in the offense is going to change? Because Rogers
is still Rodgers. A couple of weeks ago. He had
a towel over his face last week through a pick six.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah you mean when the kicker missed the field goal
and they lost to Denver?
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Right, yeah, I remember.
Speaker 7 (16:01):
That, right, national towel over his space, pouting last week,
pouting and then this week.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
What has Robert Salah done in his three years before
this before Aaron Rodgers showed up? Or is that makes
you feel like he's the right coach and he got
screwed because I don't.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
You could have to show me something that they did.
All right, All right, thanks Eric, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
It ain't about what he again, he ain't the solution
per se.
Speaker 6 (16:30):
And I knew this move had to happen.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
My only thing is a the timing thing whish to happen,
and it shows that they're doing something they never do.
They've never done this. And then me again, this is
what happens when you're all in. I'm not even mad
you had.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
This is when you have to act like this when
you've decided to be all in with it. Ever won
the Super Bowl since nineteen sixty nine? Yeah, So what
do you I mean like, if it's not now and
you're not going to try to salvage your season with
a Hall of Fame quarterback and try to make it work,
what is the point?
Speaker 6 (16:59):
Got Honestly, this is it. We can get back to
the cars.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
My only thing is you keep saying that, and I
totally understand that seriously, especially as the Lions fan, you
know that. But man, that offense is what you were like,
we already know what the defense now that we got Aaron.
Speaker 6 (17:13):
Rodgers were about to lie. No, you're not lighting up.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
You're at literally the bottom of the entire NFL and
all offensive stats. So that's the thing that I think
for some people, it's like, well that wasn't issue. The
defense one issue.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
Caesar in Texas, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio was up, Hey, how.
Speaker 10 (17:31):
You doing howe how are you? I'm doing good. I
agree with you. I got tired all day hearing all
the talking to his just saying them because of his defense.
And this is all I want to say. Still Belichick
one of the greatest defensive coaches ever. You know why
he's at home right now because all he can do
(17:51):
is coach good defense. You gotta be if you want
to continue to be here coach, you gotta have offense
on your resume.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
And you know what, that's a great point because as
soon as they couldn't score in New England, they were
ready to move Bill Belichick out of there too. And
that's the other issue. And you would say, well, Bill's
not the offensive coordinator, Well you're the head coach, and
you're gonna get credit for the wins and you're gonna
get the blame. And he's one hundred percent right, because
when Tom Brady was there and their offense was good,
(18:21):
Bill Belichick wasn't going anywhere. Last year, Remember, they couldn't
score and they wound up putting him out.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Reason why that's also not quite fair is because Bill
Belichick was trying to have control over everything. Rob Salad,
all right, you want it your way, y'all. Controlled offense,
you do what you want. You want that Daniel Hacket,
you got him. You want to call all the plays,
Aaron Rogers do that. So it was almost like I'm conceding,
y'all do what you want to do. But then it
falls on me when I gave.
Speaker 4 (18:45):
You you're the boss, you're the head coach, so you
just can't turn everything over.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
That's what was going at the end of the season. Regardless,
I'm not even gonna sit up here.
Speaker 4 (18:54):
If they won the division and they made won a
playoff game, I don't know if that was four goinge conclusion.
Mic and Washington, you're in the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
What's up, Mike.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Job?
Speaker 5 (19:06):
Would you say? You say it again?
Speaker 8 (19:07):
Mike said, you guys love the show. You guys are
doing a great job.
Speaker 5 (19:10):
Appreciate you mine, thank you, Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
So the way I look at the New York Jets,
it's like they're the NFL's landa.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
Missed It toys, that's for sure.
Speaker 8 (19:18):
You got Aaron Rodgers of the quarterback. He's the train
with the square wheels. And this is a prime example
when teams allow a player to come on board and
dictate who going through it. Now with Lebron and he
brought all his fellows on, and he brought his offensive coordinator,
and it hasn't worked. And it starts from the top.
(19:40):
I've seen many I've watched. I'm fifty four years old,
and every owner I've ever seen has always been very
composed but together. The first time I ever seen Woody
Johnson would last year on the beginning of the first
season where Aaron Rodgers hurt the dude showed up a
dresser and a giant.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
I remember that right on the opener. I remember that.
Speaker 8 (20:03):
I like, like what the first thing I thought was like,
is this about the team or is it about WOODI
there's a lot about the culture there, right.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
The culture is bad. And I said that from Jump Street.
But there's just no life preserver to say Robert sala
he just hasn't done enough to warrant it. You're off
to a bad start. This is not the start that
the people expected. And once you do that, people are
gonna move on.
Speaker 1 (20:29):
From it, and once I again, once I go all
in with Aaron Rodgers and the whole Aaron Rodgers experiment,
this is where they are. I hope it works for him.
Don't get it twisted. I hope this works out. But
that's where they are now.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
You might look back and remember this moment here where
you said this, and you'll look back and say, unbelievable.
The season turned around and they won the division. I'm
going to sit here right now. The defense and the
players on the offense are good enough so that they
could beat the Buffalo Bills and they could win the division.
I'm telling you what. The right guy at the time,
(21:00):
and I believe the interim guy who was right behind Salo,
who's a solid guy, is the is the right guy.
I just say, okay, that don't make the math and
Matthew how anybody but Solo you ever hear?
Speaker 6 (21:10):
That means literally my guy who plays the side of
the ball.
Speaker 5 (21:12):
Everybody's not a head coach.
Speaker 6 (21:14):
Everybody best interim coaches.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
Man. All I know is I don't know if he
is or isn't, but I know Robert Salah is it.
You know how about that Nathaniel Hacket ain't either That's
what I know. Hackey can't Hackett all right?
Speaker 11 (21:28):
Salam joining us for the NFL who gave him that name,
Kevin Washington him that.
Speaker 6 (21:38):
You like, we gotta get to Brian all right, but
first give me.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
His mic.
Speaker 3 (21:47):

What's up?
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Man?
Speaker 6 (22:09):
How you doing?
Speaker 5 (22:09):
What's up?
Speaker 2 (22:11):
How you good Man?
Speaker 6 (22:14):
Were there arguing you know nothing to it? You talking
about these Jets from here?
Speaker 2 (22:18):
I am.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
This is my point.
Speaker 4 (22:20):
The division isn't lost. Okay, they're two and three. Uh,
Buffalo's three and two. They could be in first place
on Monday after Jets be Buffalo. Buffalo doesn't look like
they're gonna run away with anything. Miami doesn't have a quarterback.
Speaker 11 (22:33):
UH.
Speaker 4 (22:34):
New England's not good and start a rookie quarterback. The
division is there on on a you know up for grabs.
Robert Sala hasn't done enough for me. I think the
Jets made the right move. This is not the start
that they expected. Has Aaron Rodgers played well? No, but
they can't run the football, they can protect the quarterback.
There's a lot of issues here and they've had enough.
(22:56):
For Robert Sala, I don't have an issue. I think
they made the right move.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
I think look and I agree with you, I'd say this.
I know Robert. I think Roberts phenomenal. He was on
the coaching staff when I was in Houston. It just
became more about Aaron Rodgers and who he was going
(23:23):
to bring in. And so they've now to turn the
New York Jets into Aaron Rodgers, and a Rodgers hasn't
played well. So when you get that level of responsibility
and they heat that level of taysoul in terms of
offensive coordinator, players, all of these things, you get all
(23:47):
of those things and you yourself can't go up out
there and live up to your standards that you set
for yourself. It becomes a problem and it most likely
reflects more and not reflects back on the head coach,
like did Robert Salo want Nathaniel Hackett, did he want
(24:07):
him right? No, you have to start asking yourselves that question,
like how much did he have a say so in
the direction they were going. But on the other hand,
you know he's a defensive coach, he was a defensive
coordinator tremendous and their defense hasn't lived up to what
(24:27):
it had been and so and so you know, Aaron
Rodgers isn't going anywhere, Nathaniel Hackett isn't going anywhere, and
so the next logical thing would be the head coach
and that if they had lights out defense that Aaron
Rodgers was struggling right now, this will be a different conversation.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Well, you just pretty much said a lot of what
I was saying from is that they are all in,
put the chips, all in on the Aaron Rodgers experiment,
no matter what it means, and no matter what we
have to do in order for that to continue and
include let our head coach go.
Speaker 6 (24:58):
So this is just where they are now. They have
to continue to do this. So let me ask you this.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
You know they got interim coach right now, who is
Robert solid second in command on the defensive side, how
do they now if you're a player on this team.
You're an offense starting offensive lineman. How do you just
turn around and say, all right, we got to keep
going with this thing. Maybe there's a DeVante Adams signing
at some point, but how do you right the ship
go through all of the drama that has been the
Jets the last couple of years.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
As players, we just go play man. We don't, we don't,
we don't try to figure out moves and who's going
to do that? For us? It doesn't matter because their
livelihood is attached to how we play. So for the
offensive line, losing Moses was a big issue for them.
(25:44):
They gotta find a way to uh, you know, run
the ball consistently. Recently, running the ball fifteen times with
with with with the level of running backs you guys
have in a one score game, that's that's that's awful.
That's the Daniel Hackey, that's Aaron Rodgers. You gotta be
able to run the ball. I don't care if you're
(26:05):
getting two yards to carry. Eventually one of those things
are gonna break, but you gotta run the ball. You
can't run the ball fifteen times in a two possession game.
You threw three interceptions. So to me, it's more of
who are we, right, like, what type of team are we?
And let's do that all of it can't just be
(26:28):
on the arm of an aging forty plus year old
Aaron Rodgers, No doubt, you got.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
To be able to be way more balanced. Let's go
here Patrick Mahomes and of course the Chiefs for five
and zero. But from these numbers are alarming, Patrick mc
last night, no touchdowns or interception in the end zone.
Speaker 5 (26:48):
Are you ready for this?
Speaker 4 (26:50):
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are ranked thirtieth in red
zone efficiency. He's ranked twenty second amongst quarterbacks in the
red zone behind bow Knit Uh. He's played five games
this year, six touchdowns and six interceptions, one passer rating
in the eighties this season?
Speaker 3 (27:10):
What what?
Speaker 4 (27:11):
And I'm not looking at the year two fifty touchdowns,
But there's no way you could keep looking at this
and say this is the same Patrick Mahomes that we saw,
you know what I mean a couple.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
Of years ago.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Well, yeah, he's not. And we saw that last year,
right last year? Was it weren't If it weren't for
their defense, we wouldn't be talking about Kansas City S
a repeating champion. So when you lose the level of
star that they've lost offensively, projectos down rights is down.
(27:43):
Those are big time playmakers. Now guys can come in
and they can fill it and they can do an
omen's job and they could be okay. Well, when you
have lights out knockdown playmakers and you remove them from
the game plan. Now it's just kelsey right, and teams
feel comfortable letting allowing Kansas City to dink and dunk
(28:06):
them down the field. They're going to keep two safeties back.
They're not going to give up the big play. They're
not going to let Xavier Worthy just run past the defense.
So Patrick Mahomes can drop the deep ball in, it's
not going to happen. And it's frustrating for an offense
that has been in the past putting up big plays
and things like that. So the thing with the Kansas
(28:29):
City Chiefs, no one is panicking because they're five and zero.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
I get them coach.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
They're so well coached that they can survive with the
thirtieth ranked offense in the Red zoon like, they can
survive that as long as you have Patrick Mahomes and
you have any time left on the clock in the
fourth quarter and Andy Reid. They feel like they have
a chance because their defense is constantly keeping them in games.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
He also is taught, uh leaves the league in interceptions
or it's todd right. I'm just saying when I look
at the Patrick ma I just can't believe how bad
they are.
Speaker 6 (29:08):
Listen to point.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah he's not on point, but off, all I need
you to do is make a magical Patrick mahonmes play
once or twice a game, then so be it. We'll
just keep winning that way. And he credited the defense
himself last night. He says, about time people start recognizing
they've been good for two years. I go for me
the last one here. I go to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Uh,
real quick for us Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson clear for
(29:32):
full practice. They're kind of keeping the door quote a jar.
What do you think Mike Thomas gonna decide to do
come Sunday.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
I think if Russell comes to practice Wednesday and he
has a great day, and Thursday has a great day
and then they're doing blitz pick up in red zone
on Friday, I think he'll be the starting quarterback on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
All right, we'll keep an eye on that he is.
Speaker 4 (29:52):
You would know as an offensive line gonna be hurt,
aren't you when they bench your boy?
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Push it all? Haven't pushing.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
My whole point was there was no need to go
to just to Russell. Yet Justin Fields is playing privately.
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Fight.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
By the way, they ain't been the problem.
Speaker 5 (30:04):
They lost the last two games. And I'm telling you
what the problem, hey, from you know what it is
in this league. Man, you start to lose a couple
of games, they ready to make a move. That's how
it is.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
That's how it is. I appreciate your brother, Thank you too. Hey,
you want to talk about your.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
Chips are falling as we keep going here, I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
No, wait, wait, wait wait, he said Wednesday, Thursday, and
then through Friday. Next thing, you know, come Sunday. I
might still be good on this Justin Fields all right?
All right, hey, somebody out hanging out with the fans
with no security. Rob thinks it's crazy. Plus Sheckle City
coming up. It is the odd couple.
Speaker 4 (30:37):

go tonight. I'll get the right music tonight. I'm a
bounce back. I think maybe man come.
Speaker 6 (32:47):
On saying what's your chest? Come on right, I'm on right.
Speaker 4 (32:50):
I got the Padres minus one and a half runs
to hold one Dodgers.
Speaker 5 (32:55):
Well, I got on a jersey, so I can't beat
down with that one.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
So then the Dodgers and Padres under seven and a
half runs for the total under no no over, okay
to say over seven and a half. But I did
have the Phillies minus one and a half at the
match six to two. Yeah, Phillies mining one and a half.
I mean you still got like one inning, one inning
(33:18):
for them to score. I was ruled, but did have
to score like eight runs because even if they were
to win by one, they need another half run. All right,
so I have Let's do the other two games, Padres
minus one and a half and the Dodgers and Padres
over seven and a half runs tonight in San Diego. Remember,
I'm not telling you who to bet on. I'm telling
you who I bet on. I don't even want to
(33:41):
tell you how many games in a row I've lost.
I know minimally it's six, not three, not four, because
it was five, not six, Keep.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Going, le Bron seven.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
And when I say that, I really believe it. What really?
Speaker 4 (33:56):
I don't remember the last time I've lost nine in
a row. Yeah, that you have, do you know, Heart?
That's almost a talent, Rob. Do you remember I was
hot to start?
Speaker 7 (34:07):
Rob.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
This is why.
Speaker 11 (34:10):
Lamar Mitchell, MGM Grant and all those hotels say, yeah, Rob,
anytime you want to come back, the phone out come.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
Here's a couple extra, but here's an extra three hundred,
four hundred dollars, and here's a room and some food
and beverage credit.
Speaker 6 (34:23):
Here you are, because we know you're gonna give it
all back, because they know day one you might be up,
but day two and three gonna whoop that trick.
Speaker 5 (34:30):
I'm hurting, all right, enough for that check.
Speaker 1 (34:33):
That's all right, Yeah, switching switch gears for yourself. Man,
somebody's out hanging with fans with no security. What you're
talking about.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Steve Cohen, the owner of the Mets, who's worth like
two three billion dollars. There was a picture on social media.
He's standing outside the city Field in Flushing, Queens greeting
fans as they come into the stadium.
Speaker 5 (34:54):
How many owners would do that? Come on, Kelvin, you've
been around.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
I mean there's a few that come to But but
either way, it's still ridiculous. Like I mean, that's that's
credit to him.
Speaker 5 (35:03):
That would be Steve. Wait a minute, but I left
out one part.
Speaker 2 (35:06):
Was that.
Speaker 5 (35:08):
No security. Look at the picture.
Speaker 2 (35:10):
Let me see.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
There might be some secret service outside of that pic,
you know what I mean. It might be a couple
of people a picture with and Floyd Mayweather type, big
huge dude standing around the corner. But to your point,
it's unbelievable. It is Mark Cuban starks me as somebody
who would do that. He's just one of those fan centric,
all about the good time vibe kind of guy.
Speaker 6 (35:30):
I can see. I can see him being out there.
Steve barber Man, Steve Barber would be out there too.
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Man, I've seen Steve Balmer.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
The only person would next day it would be his son.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
You wouldn't see him outside. Steve amongst the people. Give
him that in the crowd. But I'm talking about outside.
This is not in the stadium. I'm just saying this weather, that's.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
Not I don't think that's crazy for Steve ball. I'm
not even just just crediting code. I'm saying that's dope
that he's out there, he's amongst the people living it up.
Speaker 6 (35:55):
Oh that was just all bad.
Speaker 5 (35:57):
That was all bad.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
And we're watching this this Philly Mets game and it's
just it's when it's rain and his porn you go,
you go, oh for nine, just stopping and hey, you
know what, it's all right. That's on your boy. Things
turn around, that's on your I'm done. That was my
last one.
Speaker 5 (36:14):
Remember when I turned. When it turns around, that's a
good point.
Speaker 6 (36:17):
You're right, so that was the last one.
Speaker 5 (36:18):
I was no more, I can't lose forever. You can't.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
But dang it, it's a run right now.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
I mean, you know, you know that you grew up
as a Lions fan, so you can lose. I'm just saying,
now that's what we're doing. I'm just saying, you know
what years after, did you not want to go to school? Man,
it was bad by Lions Jersey or you're like.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
It was can't do it.
Speaker 6 (36:39):
The literal only thing that was the saving grace was.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
Barry Sanders got that you would see something magical and
that was a stretch the two thousand yards. Yeah, there
was a couple of years where they you know, they
had the Scott Mitchell, uh Johnny Morton who was the
receiver hermy more and more had a few years of that,
but overall it was just basically perpetual seven and nine,
that kind of thing where it's like they were terrible
(37:06):
and then they had a terrible then they got bad
in the two thousands.
Speaker 5 (37:09):
Yeah, when Matt Millan became the worst general man.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
And they started to you and uh, Sean beligian A,
y'all started the fire.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Get Matt Millan parade going that was I gave it
the name. Sean had a organized the Angry Man. He did,
but I was the one who came up with the
milling Man March, which is the one that you was
doing television.
Speaker 5 (37:29):
Sean got mad because he didn't get.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
Christ I'm starting to know something about you with nicknames
and names, and you were trying to figure out who
took the name first.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
Rob.
Speaker 1 (37:38):
We gonna have to remember that because I have a
feeling I'm gonna come up with some unique, cool stuff
and then he gonna try to steal that.
Speaker 5 (37:42):
Nah, I'm just original.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
You know that now nowhere.
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Steve the Saga when I need him, come on so
he can call you out on your non originality.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
The milling Man manch Rob, real quick, real quick?
Speaker 11 (37:53):
How many iterations of the odd couple has there been?
Speaker 5 (37:56):
What do you Rob? So original?
Speaker 6 (38:00):
How many different shows have done trash talk Christmas?
Speaker 11 (38:03):
Leave me?
Speaker 6 (38:03):
Calvin Washington, we don't call it the odd couple? Two
point zero?
Speaker 5 (38:08):
We've only had three odd couples? How many trash talking Tuesdays?
I'm only three or four?
Speaker 6 (38:14):
Come on, bro?
Speaker 5 (38:14):
How many TV things on Thursdays? The shows have I had?
Speaker 12 (38:17):
If I know for a fact. There's somebody who worked
with a name Tysher, and you did a tower of trigger.
I know, no, no, no, hey, you don't go away
from good stuff. That's all I'm gona say. Why Why
go away from where?
Speaker 11 (38:28):
They say?
Speaker 6 (38:28):
Rob?
Speaker 5 (38:28):
Play the hits, Play the hit, Hey, hey number one.
Speaker 6 (38:31):
It's business. We all know that.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Uh, the Jets were all land. This is the result.
We'll talk about it. The odd couple, two point oh,
three point oh, whatever it is. Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (38:40):
Rob Parker The in and out of Fox Sports Radio.
