Carry that's right, write it down, committed to memory eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. For you layman out there,
it's eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine,
not trigonometry. And if you hear feedback on the line,
it's your own fault. It means only one thing.

Living a good life, living a good life, no drama,
no bs, eating, sleeping, doing whatever you want to do.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
I always wonder like a guy like you, what what
what do you do?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Like if I don't know if I my bills were paid,
I wasn't married, you know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (02:50):
I don't have any kids carry exactly.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
I would just be I would probably be into so
much trouble. Why why would you do that?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Would you put yourself in trouble when you just said
all the things you just said. No, yeah, you're comfortable,
you feel good, you live in the high life, you're
standing out.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Why would you want to just drama? There you go,
people line up, you want to drink a lot? Or no,
not a drinker. I don't do that. No, I can't
do it.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
So there's like that's how people get in trouble though,
because you know they have nowhere to go.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
You have to have something.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
You have a passion obviously with acting and singing and
doing sports talk radio, so you have something that you
have a passion.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
For outside of football.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
So all right, Well as always great to have you
along brother on the.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Rob Parker Show with Kelvin Washington. But that's another story.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Oh shots fired, let's welcome in the Odd Couple crew,
because you wouldn't be able to do this fire radio
program with the Rob G. Was that a smirk by
you or no? Bud Mexican.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Did you laugh?
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Rob G is our producer, Bud Mexican. Yes, Alex is
our engineer behind you had asked for my favorite movie.
I did hear that one more time.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
It ain't just your favorite movie, you know, I said, okay,
all hours.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
I was like, all right, yeah, number two though if
I had to do a number two because because number
one of the Wizard, yeah, yeah, what's too?
Speaker 4 (04:16):
The original Planet of the Apes with uh Charleston has Wow?
Did you ever watch the original? Alex Rob G? The original?
Am I? Right? Of course? Yeah? It is as good.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
That's movie making, Like they took me to another place.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
The makeup, Like seriously, I noticed what is it called CG?
What CG? I go go watch.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
The original Planet of the Apes and look at the
detail on the makeup and the way did they move,
you know, like it's fantastic.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
When you did practical effects at that time, you had
to still be a really good actor, right, Like it
enhances the movie experience for sure.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
That that is that is one of my Isaac loh
and Kron is at the anchor desk.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
He'll keep us updated throughout the program. And Saga.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
Is our social media guru in for Elijah.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Love Elijah exactly did you say that? Yes? You did?
All right? Uh?
Speaker 3 (05:19):
So much to get to, so little tome, Rob g
we got breaking news, while not really breaking news, but
big news.
Speaker 6 (05:27):
There we go, fresh on the heels of what may
have been the worst debut in NFL history quarterback. Oh day,
but you mean day, but Shoulder Sanders will be getting
the start on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Carry what if?
Speaker 6 (05:42):
What was the QBR or quarterback where the lowest for
a debut by any quarterback?
Speaker 1 (05:48):
I think in fifteen years. Man, Listen, those are fact,
that's a fact. But this man hasn't even taken a
first team rep. Well, he's gonna be getting all.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
The reps this week because again should do centers will
be getting to start QB one for the Cleveland Browns
this Sunday in Vegas when they take on the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
All Right, I'm just gonna say it out front, and
I know you're gonna think it's hyperbole. And here's Rob
of course going overboard and making something bigger than it is.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
But this is.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Judgment day for Shador Sanders. Judgment day. I don't want
to hear about snaps. I don't want to about He
didn't you who have a week's practice, all of that
under his belt.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
He better not hold onto the ball too long. He
better not fumble.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
He better not throw a couple of interceptions against this
terrible team called the Las Vegas Raiders. If you can't
beat them and perform like everybody's been beating them like
a drum, here's your opportunity.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
You better play well. All of your excuse me, I
don't want to hear you.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
If he throws two or three pigs or fumble and
they lose to the Raiders, it's set up on a.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Platter for you. This is better than Thanksgiving. You know why.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
You don't have to have the gravy or the joy,
the cranberry sauce.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
This is straight turkey juicy, and what okay, captain about
the turkey. All you need to do.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Is come out and ball out and beat the Raiders
like everybody else.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
Put your athletic talent on display.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
We already know that the Browns have the defense that's
gonna stop the Raiders, right yes, So now it's just
a question of can you put up points against that team,
that pathetic team that Pete Carroll has in Las Vegas.
You better play well, you better excel. If not, don't
(08:03):
want to hear it. Don't want to hear the excuses.
Here's your opportunity. Should do No one, this is a
prime opportunity. He's playing a team that is not good.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
I'm not gonna go to your level with the rod,
but they are not good, not a good team.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Ideal situation. Pete Carroll should be embarrassed.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
It's one thing carrying and I'm just gonna say that
you could be like, Okay, Pete Carroll's there. You know,
you know you expected Gino to play batteries play really bad.
So the quarterback players an't great, but they still got
a decent defense. They still got a decent special team. No, no,
they're nothing. They can't run the ball, quarterback players atrocious.
(08:45):
Their defense is bad like not special teams as bad.
They fired a special teams coach earlier this year. Yeah nothing, No, no,
that they're a bad team. And Shada does have a
chance to come out and get get solid footing early
against a really bad team and put up some numbers
and show why he should be the guy there. This
is this may be his only chance in Cleveland, which
(09:07):
it sounds crazy. I mean, obviously he's a rookie and
he hasn't played any games. But for some reason, they
weren't giving them snaps and they weren't putting them in
that position to succeed anyway.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
So now, but you saw maybe there's a reason. Oh,
I mean you see that game one the numbers. Yeah,
he holds on to the ball. Yeah, am I right?
That's not Is that a fair criticism? You're like, he
holds on to the ball. Ye, he doesn't know what
he's looking at yet, right, And that's part of it, right,
Like he hasn't gotten the reps, he hasn't gotten the
time to be on the field to actually process things.
And so when you're putting that situation in the game,
(09:39):
a lot of people aren't going to succeed.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
But in this game, he has a week to practice.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
He's going to be the guy that has rapport with
all those guys and they're going to know a snap count,
They're going to know what he needs to look at
and be successful. If he doesn't succeed this one, it's
going to be a lot of a lot of people
coming coming out the woodworks ready to crucify him.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
For sure, could I raise my hand? Go ahead, No,
you already said, I already said it. I do. I
believe this is a layup. I'm saying this is set
up for him, for all the people.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
The NFL has conspired because they don't like Shador. They
want to put him in his play, so they had
him dropped down to the fifth round.
Speaker 4 (10:19):
I remind you that.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Tom Brady was drafted in the sixth round, right, But
they conspired against your door.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Why why? In Cleveland?
Speaker 3 (10:28):
They having won, Jack, don't tell me that Stefanski and
the GM that they would rather lose their jobs by
not playing a guy who can play.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
Come on, carry, it doesn't happen. It doesn't happen. What
is the NFL stand for?
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Not for long? So if you don't win, you think
you're gonna get to stick around?
Speaker 4 (10:49):
And who doesn't play? Everybody in that.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
Locker room, everybody. I've never been in there, but I've
been covering sports for almost forty years. They you know
who should be playing and who shouldn't play.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
One hundred am I right? One hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
If that guy was ready to play, and he was
a guy that was gonna get them wins, he would
have been playing.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
All the players were going to the coach and go,
what are you doing? This guy should be the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
He can't. The other guy can't play one thousand. Yes,
that's how it happens.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
No, for sure, like, yeah, this is his chance, man, Rob,
this is one of those moments where you're a fifth
round guy. The fifth round guy usually usually does get
the scraps right. But that doesn't mean you can't change
those scraps into a like into a into a big
tasty meal.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
Even in that game, Yeah, carry was there.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Did the last drive he could have drove down and
throw a game time touchdown.
Speaker 4 (11:41):
There's a couple opportunities there.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
What so, So it's not like, oh my god, no,
there was a chance that on his first game he
had a chance to throw a game time touchdown Tyd Baltimore,
who knows winning overtime?
Speaker 4 (11:52):
And then you have a totally different narrative, wouldn't you?
You would?
Speaker 1 (11:56):
But I'll tell you this, I don't think, Yes, there
wasn't opportunity. Their opportunity presented itself, but I don't think
he would have been able to process that and win
that game.
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
The only big completion he had on that drive Baltimore
plays his own and they of course he's singing cover two,
Cover four his whole life, right, he knows where to
go with the ball. After that, they pressured that man.
Oh yeah, he had They did what no answers. But
now he has a week, so hopefully he has the
answer to the test.
Speaker 3 (12:24):
All right, we want to hear your answer. Eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. I'm fired up on this
worship Wednesday. I see you know I never come in
you know, uh half, I don't want to use that word.
I'm never eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight
seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. That's
(12:46):
because Alice records everything, so I didn't want to say
to every everything, So I just let that one go.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
How much pressure is on Chador Sanders.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
I think there's so much pressure pressure bust pipes and
Chador Sanders if he doesn't get it done Sunday against
the Raiders.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Here we go. We'll continue that conversation next with you.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
There?
Speaker 4 (15:37):
You go, He's gonna get a star, get a change.
You said that the Cleveland doesn't want us to succeed.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
Obviously they do because they're starting him against the worst
team in the NFL. All he's gotta do is kick
their butt. And then that you know, he's got pressure.
He'd better perform. That's all I'm saying. Eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox, you want to hear from you
carry a couple of people want to jump in.
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah, let's hop into the callers. Here, we got Thomas
from Orlando. You're on with the odd couple.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Man, how are you?
Speaker 9 (16:06):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (16:06):
How you doing?
Speaker 4 (16:08):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (16:10):
Thomas?
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Man?
Speaker 6 (16:11):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (16:11):
Man, Hey, Rob Look man, you can't be talking about
any game in the NFL is tugued, especially for the
Cleveland Browns, who are also bad.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 10 (16:21):
They're both bad. So there does well. You can't to
give him his props, man, God, to give him his props.
He deserves it. He deserves it. He's gonna do well.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
And if he tells, and if he Hey, your name
is Thomas, let me tell you what my name is.
When it comes to shador Sanders. What is my name
is doubting Thomas.
Speaker 4 (16:37):
I'm gonna just tell you, is that Thomas Thomas. If
he doesn't play well, then what what he's want? You're
gonna make an excuse? Seriously, what would be if he
if he if he, if he fumbles.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Wants two interceptions, and just doesn't play well, holds onto
the ball, too many sacks.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
You can't sit there and go like, oh, well, well
it's hard to win in the NFL. It's the Raiders.
Speaker 10 (17:01):
Well for him, that's why.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
Oh come on, you can't. It can't be so, It's
never so. It would never be his fault according to you, right, never.
Speaker 10 (17:13):
No, not about his fault, but.
Speaker 5 (17:16):
Better team?
Speaker 3 (17:17):
I think, okay, well he went to a bad team
and guess what he turned to the round? All right,
thanks Thomas, all right we got up with that.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Oh none in the right the way? You need a
better go you need Come on, Carrie, It's always been
the nature of the draft.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
You go to the worst team and and the Cincinnati
Bengals couldn't win a playoff game to save their lives?
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Am I right? These have good team. Joe Burrow shows up,
he's hurt. Halfway through his rookie year, comes back the next.
Speaker 3 (17:50):
Year, takes him to the Souper, beats the Chiefs in
Kansas City, and goes to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Stop making excuses, Well.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Rob, yes, I mean Joe Burrow was the number one quarterback.
I'm just saying that there's a difference in skills set
there just a little bit. But I'm saying is you
can't make an excuse.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
You can't make it every time somebody doesn't play well
and blame the organization and the coach and everything else.
Speaker 4 (18:15):
That's all I'm saying. I got it.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. All right, let's go to let's
go to the phone again. We got call from Albuquerque.
You on with the odd couple? Man, how are you.
Speaker 5 (18:22):
Hey, not too mad?
Speaker 9 (18:24):
Aren't too mad? First time caring?
Speaker 4 (18:26):
Appreciate, Thank thank you, thank you, my man.
Speaker 10 (18:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (18:33):
Two things.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
One share.
Speaker 9 (18:37):
Only written the sounds only because all the hype Daddy
was putting out here on him. That's why Pittsburgh didn't
want him. And second, mister Crosby from Las Vegas, those
chops waiting for it.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yeah, no, I agree with that. He's looking at the
tops for everybody, no doubt. How do you how do
you think you should do? What's good to play?
Speaker 4 (19:01):
Do you just you got a gut?
Speaker 9 (19:05):
Many surprise people, but I doubt it.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
There's another non committal right in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, yeah,
I played well, but I doubt it. I've been like,
what which one is it?
Speaker 4 (19:21):
All right? We appreciate you. Ready, set the car? Thanks
for yeah? Uh carry where where are you? Just the
like this?
Speaker 1 (19:30):
This is a little bit of a measuring stick. I
mean right, yeah, no, I'll agree with you on that.
It is a measuring stick and it is a real
good opportunity. It isn't one of those games where he's
thrown in the fire and he's playing the Buffalo Bills, right,
He's playing the Raiders.
Speaker 4 (19:44):
It's a chance for Cleveland to win the game. They
just played well last week against Baltimore.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
They got a chance. So if he plays well, they
will win. So the person's on him. We got one
more call, squeeze, one more. We got Kurt from North Dakota.
You own the odd couple man. How are you?
Speaker 4 (19:59):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (19:59):
Kurt?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Hey?
Speaker 5 (20:01):
Carry on? Thank you very much for taking my call.
You guys are the best and I love you. You
know You're most welcome you're most welcome. I'm just saying
I'm I'm pulling for Shador. You know, I think it'd
be a nice story. Obviously now it's spotlights the game,
and uh, you know, people like heroes and good stories,
and I'm pulling for him. I'd really like to see
him have a good game. And to be honest, I
think he really is going to have a good game.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
So uh uh and if he has a bad and
if he has a bad game, what would you say?
I'm just I'm just curious, I just what would.
Speaker 10 (20:28):
What would you say?
Speaker 5 (20:29):
Then he probably has to, you know, start go back
to be in the thirst string and try to work
his way up. But he's got to have attitudes, you know.
Speaker 10 (20:35):
But uh but I do like you.
Speaker 5 (20:37):
A caller of yours a couple of days ago talk
about him playing behind uh Lamar Jackson. I think that's
that's kind of an intriguing idea.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
Well you had that chance, turned that down.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
He turned down Philadelphia like people when they talk about
and thanks for the call, carry about yeah, oh yeah,
Well everybody skipped over him. Teams called he did and
he and he said, no, I don't want to go
to Ultimate. I don't want to go to Philadelphia.
Speaker 4 (21:01):
I don't want.
Speaker 3 (21:02):
Well, then that's how we when people ask how did
he drop the fifth there's your answer.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
There is that. Yeah, that is part of the answer.
For sure. You can't be. You can't be come out
of college.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Come on turning down opportunities unless you're a number one
pick in the draft.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
We've seen that happen. But you don't do that. It's crazy.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
All right, A an all NBA big man could be
on the move. We'll get to that next. That's a
good tease, but first let's get to Isaac Low and
cron I Low.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Right here on Fox Sports Radio and Rob g some
crazy news. I call it crazy out of Dallas. You
got the details.
Speaker 6 (21:53):
Cover your ear drums, carry yes, Caro for your team.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
We're not done yet, and it's the one of the
worst part is Mark Cuban is getting back in the seat.
That's right now.
Speaker 6 (22:05):
ESPN's Tim McMann, who's covered the team for decades now
he covers the NBA at large Free. ESPN reported today
in a long form piece discussing actually Mark Cuban and
Eico Harrison in their battle for power there at the
end that the club is expected. Team sources tell him
to try to trade Anthony Davis ahead of the upcoming
(22:26):
NBA traded line, which means the headlining guy in the
Luka Doncic deal they're looking to move off of.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
Well, Rob that was trending earlier. But then Cuban just
came out probably that he did say they're not trading.
The problem is he does have any say in the deal.
That's the only problem that's like me say no, we
ain't trading it.
Speaker 3 (22:46):
But Mark, the only thing I do on the stand Seriously, Mark,
if I'm the new owner, do go away? Why because
I gave you. You sold the team to me. You
don't get to sell team and then and then play
with it. That's all I'm saying, Like, seriously, you know
what like and then you're going to be the spokesman.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
No, you sold the team? Why did you sell? Then?
I know that's crazy. I don't know why I did
it right?
Speaker 10 (23:12):
Why?
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Salo?
Speaker 3 (23:13):
This is your passion and you love the NBA and
you still want to be out there. That it's just
so you can't have your cake and eat it too.
I agree with that, But the fact that he's back
in the mix, I don't know how I feel. I
feel better about that.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Niko is just I don't know what he was doing.
Speaker 6 (23:31):
So carry's your team. If the report holds true that
they are gonna shop Anthony Davis at the deadline, is
that a mistake? Yes, it is.
Speaker 1 (23:39):
I mean, obviously at this point, everybody's panicing right and
saying it's time to hand the keys to Cooper Flag
and plan for the future. No, you got guys there
who are ready to play. So if you're trying to
get rid of Anthony Davis, and if that's the play,
then all those other veterans around Naji, Marshall, PJ. Like,
those guys want to win. They came there to win.
You got to start shopping them too. So that's the case,
(24:01):
then you're in a total rebuild. And that just doesn't
make sense to me right now. See, I'm with you,
it's illogical. Okay, you built this team. It's one thing.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
If Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving were healthy and you
were playing this poorly then it ain't gonna work.
Speaker 4 (24:20):
This is a mistake. Let's do something else.
Speaker 3 (24:23):
Yes, can we see it together first before we're ready
to I get it. And Cooper Flagg, Now that's the
other part. If he would have started like better and
like people would feel better about like he hasn't. Yeah,
So that compounded with the losing and the injuries, people
think they should do something else.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
I want to see it. I want to see it
together first before I decide that I'm going to pull
the plug on it. That was the disappointing thing in Brooklyn. Seriously,
they had a team, yes, of course we rob g
how many games did they play in Brooklyn together?
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Like eighteen?
Speaker 7 (25:00):
Si?
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Yeah, what was it? Thirteen?
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Like like, think about that, all three of them healthy
played thirteen games together, which is just mind boggling, I know.
And with this down saying oh it failed in Brooklyn,
well did it really?
Speaker 4 (25:15):
Did it? Really?
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Right?
Speaker 1 (25:16):
And you know, like and even with the Dallas situation, right, like,
so Kyrie is out, eighty's been out and then Derek
Gladley's been out too, So nobody talked about that, like right,
that's another and then you talk about Cooper flag not
playing well, and beginning, of course he wasn't. He's not
playing with the guys who was going to give him
space operating the first place. So now the focal point
is solely based on Cooper Flag, an eighteen year old
(25:37):
rookie to go on, think.
Speaker 3 (25:38):
And go right, and you think those NBA players are
gonna do that. No, no, no, I ain't going to
guard nobody else. I'm sticking right on you right here.
You ain't getting And then he had to play point guard,
which is another one. I mean, it's just it's just
it's all of that that made no sense. That was
that was weird by Jason Kidd, and I.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
It was his idea.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
What was it that, you know, using this time with
Kyrie or whatever, or just the idea of him handling
the basketball.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Well he did that with Yanna, remember, so he had
that as his as his deal to try to make
this thing happen. And I mean, and even Yanna's he
struggled with it at first. And so for this guy
to do it in his rookie year, just as an
eighteen year old, I agree with you. Yeah, yeah, I'm
not I'm not there.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
I just.
Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yeah, people are so my goodness gracious, I get it.
When you start off three and eleven or whatever they
started off, they were zero and two, and they were saying,
break it up. That's quick, like the Maverick fans were
the mff als. But how I mean, don't they won
one championship since the Louisiana purchase. Like really, all of
(26:44):
a sudden, they feel like, lou I hate to break
Luca didn't win you in a championship.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
I hate, I hate to break it to you in Dallas,
and he's looking great in La because he's on he's
on a revenge tour. He's going to look that way
and it looks he's been balling.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
But we'll see what happened exactly, just like I was
told by all these NBA people that who Luca Lebron,
who else you would rather have in the West.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
That's what That's what they're saying. Well right now, I'd
rather have Shay Gilders Alexander Okay, there you go.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
But they but they were saying that, you know what
I mean, going into the playoffs, as if they were
going to make this run and Luca Lebron and all
that last year. What I'm saying that was the talk
and of course when they got knocked out in the
first round, we didn't hear that anymore.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
That unbelievable. I did tell you all about rob G.
I told you about Ayton was going to play well
with the Lakers though. I told you to Rob dominating
what I tell you. I thought, he he's gonna play well.
He's in the like, is this a contract year?
Speaker 6 (27:41):
Yeah, well he's there was a buyout, so he only
has one year.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Game on your Lakers. He's going to play well. Yeah,
they're looking all right, they're looking good.
Speaker 6 (27:50):
Just look at how much carries The eyes light up
when he's talking basketball. When he touched football muted, his
head goes down. He's like, hey, you know we'll talk
because he.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Knows the deal with the ball basketball definitely. Yeah, yeah,
I don't know. Uh So when you say the Lakers
look good, what are you saying? Are they top four?
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Are they easily top four? Right now?
Speaker 2 (28:13):
No?
Speaker 4 (28:13):
No, not right now?
Speaker 6 (28:14):
Well they will be top top four? Rob G, you
with that too, Yeah, and this is real simple. And
we talked about us on the air. I think carry
I might have talked to you off the air with it.
If you have a top five player in the NBA,
whether it's Giannis or Sga or Luca or Jolkic, whatever, Yeah,
why would I all bet against you? Like if you're saying, hey,
(28:36):
they were the force to three seed last year and
now they're going to be the seventh seed, It's like,
well why, Well, but historically that doesn't happen anymore because.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
Other teams can improve as well. Would you?
Speaker 6 (28:47):
But you never bet against the best players historically?
Speaker 4 (28:50):
Well but would you?
Speaker 3 (28:51):
But I'm not saying we're counting him out, like you're
not going to make the playoffs. He could be fifth
if Denver or somebody else. I'm just saying, no, can play.
It's not like it's that.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
But right now the three best players in the West
are all the top three seats. But it doesn't always
work out like that was the case, then.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
Luca and Lebron would have went to the next round,
but they did not because because you still got to
play it is all I'm saying. I agree, if you
would have matched it, you would think, oh yeah, that's
why people were saying that, And it still didn't come
to fruition because you still have to execute, you still
have to play, you still have to get uh a
production from other people.
Speaker 4 (29:29):
It's just not one or two people.
Speaker 6 (29:32):
That's the that's a playoff rock like if you're saying
the length of a regular stem.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
But I'm not convinced that they. I got to see
how it works out. Lebron Right has an injury is
not always healthy. I've seen the bad Austin Weeds as well. Right,
I'm seeing the great right now, but I've seen the
bad one in the playoffs. Couldn't get makeup basket sure, right.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
I can't believe that a guy who is so anti
black quarterback as would have an issue with the Snow
time Lakers.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
The snow we got.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
Three Cacas, the exciting white, exciting whites Luca Revees and
La Ravo on the court at the same time, Robins
like nineteen ctl over again. You know that it is
the best decade in this country's history.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Ninetill Liverpool crazy. I told you this before.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
I don't think carry I told you, But I remember
watching an NBA game, this is old CBS. Yeah, and
they had the Jazz were playing the Celtics and it
was ten. It was like an end of a blowout,
and the coaches emptied the bench and it was ten
white players on the court at the same time five
and five, and of course Utahn Boston that it makes
(30:38):
total sense. And I just remember Tommy Heinsen was doing
the color for CBS, Dick Stockton was doing the play
by play, and he said, Hey, Dick, hey, there, you
guys at home, hit your button, roll record on your VCR.
This is the last time you ever seen ten white
guys in an NBA game at the same time.
Speaker 4 (30:56):
Ever, Because he.
Speaker 1 (30:57):
Played back with the Celtics in the fifth it might
have been twelve thirteen including the ref.
Speaker 4 (31:01):
Yeah, but back in those days, no doubt unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
All Right, we do got a lot here coming up
on The Odd Couple, big changes of coming to college football,
plus a little Shekel City that and much more.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
We'll explain.
Speaker 3 (31:15):
It is The Odd Couple on a worship Wednesday, Rob Parker,
Carrie Rhoads right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (31:23):
Stick and stay, especially if you want to know about
Carrie Rhodes love life in the UK.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Oh no, no, be sure to catch live editions of
The Odd Couple with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays
at seven pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
It is the odd couple on a worship Wednesday, Rob
Parker carry Rhoads in for kelvin Washington.
Speaker 4 (31:55):
And now it's time for a little Shekel City.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Welcome to Shekel City, the whole base for Rob Harker's
Dalley Dicks against the.
Speaker 4 (32:13):
I knew that.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
I knew that.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
I knew that. Come on, that was that was classic
television right there? It really I knew that. Did we
do that? And guess what? It was a bad night
last night? Oh hello darkness? Oh for three last night?
Speaker 3 (32:39):
And guess what all three Rob g all three games
where a team I had them getting the points, that
was the underdog.
Speaker 4 (32:47):
They all lost by one or two points. Like it
was right there.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
They all had a chance to win those cover because
I didn't have them winning. I had them covering.
Speaker 4 (32:56):
All three lost.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
All right, So now I'm seventy five and seven, seventy
one zero and three last night, I don't know not yet.
All right, here we go tonight. My best bet Nicks
minus seven and a half. They take it on the
Mavericks in Dallas.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Why why are you doing? Flag? But why do you
do that to me? Right now?
Speaker 3 (33:13):
I'm right beside you, I gotta I'm trying to win money.
How about the Bulls minus four and a half. They're
in Portland taking on the Trailblazers. Uh and Washington. Here
we go another one, Washington plus sixteen and a half
the Minnesota te Wolves. So again best bet Nicks minus
(33:34):
seven and a half, Washington plus sixteen and a half,
and the Bulls minus four and a half.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
And remember carry, I'm not telling you who the bet on. Oh,
I'm telling you who I better, especially after last night. Yeah,
I know, is Jalen Brunton playing tonight?
Speaker 3 (33:51):
Is he? Is he out?
Speaker 4 (33:52):
I don't know you better? You might want to check
that one.
Speaker 6 (33:54):
Yeah, but money again, I don't even know who's playing
in him.
Speaker 4 (33:57):
That's how I just forgot notes tonight? Is Brunton still owe?
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Yeah, okay, I don't know. I'll still take that seven
and a half. All right, here we go, and what
do we am? I on the right sheet. I'm sorry
about that player today. I turned to the wrong sheet.
All right, It's time for the tire rack player today.
And it's the ball bounce past the dura on the
right wing, drops it back to Jenkins, turns the corner
cut off of the baseline.
Speaker 4 (34:22):
Here's a cut by Thompson for the Dunk Pacers.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Oh, I couldn't hear Rob Ge speak up Pistons radio.
It didn't sound like Pistons Radio. The player today was
brought to.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
You by tire Rack.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
For over forty years, tire Rack has been helping customers
find the right tires for how, what and where they drive.
Ship fast and free back by free Road has a
protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation.
Speaker 4 (34:54):
Tire rack dot Com.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
The way tire buying should be, Rob g We got
the coaching carousela some big jobs open, some coaches.
Speaker 4 (35:04):
Lane Kiffin is in the mix.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
What's the latest that's right now? Big news today?
Speaker 4 (35:09):
He should stay in his lane.
Speaker 6 (35:11):
Steve Sarkisian said, no way, no how, I'm staying at Texas.
Speaker 4 (35:14):
He better.
Speaker 6 (35:15):
But Lane Kiffin, who is being recruited heavily by LSU
and Florida, Yeah, will not commit one way or the other.
He's trying to have his cake and eat it too.
He does want to finish coaching the rest of the season.
He told Pat McAfee today he plans on coaching in
the upcoming Egg Bowl. Would like to see his team
in the College Football Playoff and then figure it out
from there. The only problem is courting multiple reports. Ole
(35:37):
Miss wants the decision made like yesterday. They put a
deadline on him November twenty eighth. Either you're staying with
us or we got to go somewhere else. Good for
old Miss. Don't wait around with for Lane Kiffin and
his decision. Mean for me, I mean, I don't know
why he's got everything cooking and old myths. Obviously he
hasn't won the big one yet, but he's right. There's
(35:59):
been on the cusp with all these kids, and I
hate when those coaches leave like that for quote unquote
Green or pastor Up.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
I mean, here here's the issue, and I get it.
There's so few coaches out there that when those jobs
open up, they they that's why they have these fifty
million dollar buyouts and all that, because they just sawt
that many coaches available, and so that's why they hop
around as soon as those jobs open.
Speaker 4 (36:24):
That's how they get their money. Of course.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
And my the thing is as long as the players,
which they can do now with their transfer port, can
leave when they want, I'm fine with it. I am
like I'm at Ole Miss and I'm not playing, but
I'm a really good player. I came up and I
can go over there and they got a starting job
for me and it's a good program or whatever, and
maybe I could get into the league or you know,
showcase my talents. I'm not mad at somebody because they
(36:49):
recruited me. They told me I was gonna play, and
some other kids showed up, right. It happens all the time, yes,
and you're stuck. No, No, I agree with that part
of it.
Speaker 1 (36:58):
That was a great point about now, the to have
the flexibility tonight be stuck in a situation before.
Speaker 4 (37:03):
I didn't like it for that reason. And that was
my biggest thing.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Is if the kids have to stay, and then you
should make the coaches live up to their contract or
if you wouldcruit somebody then knows, you know, you have
to stick around.
Speaker 1 (37:14):
Whatever happened is to stay somewhere and you know, finishing
something that you started. You know that doesn't this is
your generation, you know, Man, I don't get it. Man,
I know I'm old school with that though. Yeah, I
don't like that at all. Man, Lane Kiffin, if you're listening,
staying old miss and win a championship. It'll be so
much special than going to going to l s U
(37:36):
and winning. They've already won there, so I stay in
old miss.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:39):
I mean, you want to win, you want to get
your opportunity there, but you also you know it's it's
to pay. You can't get that big of a praise.
How much Rob numbers how much how much l SU
is offering. You know, they have not released the details.
But the only thing is we talked about the show.
Speaker 6 (38:00):
The governor is telling anybody who's around him, yeah, we're
really hot and heavy for Lane Kiffin.
Speaker 3 (38:06):
I think that's a good or a bad thing, because
you know, it's a state school, so it's got to
come from the kiddy.
Speaker 4 (38:12):
But that's why the governor saying.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
Elo governor, he's saying, I'm gonna be involved in this
cause the U and they got rid of the a D.
Remember that we were talking about that once. He came
out and said, this guy signed two coaches who both
got huge buyouts, and they were like, we're not doing
that with that guy.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Again. Yeah you don't.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
I don't know why they got Brian Kelly in the
first place. He wasn't he wasn't the right fit there. No,
but he had the accent. I think No, he did
not have that either.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
He tried it. He did actually do that. All right.
Odd couple hour number two coming up. Stick and stay hey,
smart wise
