Speaker 5 (03:37):
Rob Parker, Yeah, and he'd understand because he understands that
when a brother is so out there and he can't
acknowledge and understand the experience and the knowledge sitting next
to him, and he's going to discount.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
To appreciate this experiencing next toime. I ain't talking about that.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Now.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Let's get to with the Lions and the Washington Commanders.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
You had to nerve the audacity to goll to sit
here and try to discount my thoughts on the Lions
everything I said. You tried to make it like I
was a hater, and what holdell, I'm a hater.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
That's why I'm saying what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (04:24):
Okay, And you couldn't have been more wrong about the
Detroit Lions.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
And despite all the stuff I pointed.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Out all year long, you just kept acting like you
didn't see it, or that I was some deranged old
man who's living in the past.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Oh, that would de pad.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
You're talking about the old stuff. I'm talking about the new.
No matter what I told you on this very radio show.
I told you about Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Did I tell you? Yeah, you want to go there,
I'm gonna go there.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
You were wrong.

Speaker 5 (05:02):
I told you about Ronald McDonald and the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
You were wrong.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
I told you about Aaron Glenn and that he didn't
work up some magic defense that it was Sam Donald
not Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
You were wrong. And I told you about Jared loss
not Jared Garth. I told you I sat here and told.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
You you could throw three interceptions and lose a big game.
I told you the reason that the Rams traded him
was because they didn't think he was good in big games.
And you discounted, Oh, you were wrong. And then I
told you the Lions all year. I didn't buy in fraudulent.

(05:50):
I gave you all the reasons.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Why you mean the NFC North forty and eleven.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Yeah, because they played the AFC West oh and three
in the postse ten interceptions from the three quarterbacks. I
told you that the Lions your revenge tour. All you
talked about running up the score, right, A bad coach
putting his players in harm's way all year long for

(06:17):
no reason to beat up also rans.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
And there you go. What happened? You didn't have enough bodies,
enough people at the end.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
And then I told you time and time again, Dan
Campbell's not a good coach, and.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
We saw more of that. We saw twelve.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
Men on the field when the game was in reach
ten points and they give him a first down and
goal at the one because they don't have a they have.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Too many men on defense.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
They got a wide receiver throwing in a crucial point
of the game, making a throw to another wide receiver.
Guess how many throws at that wide receiver thrown in
his career in collegen and the pros zero. That's the
spot you picked to be cute. Come on, man, it
doesn't get any worse than that.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
You.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
No, I'm not done.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
I've been telling you this franchise wasn't going. You ignored
all the signs, all the signs all year about Jared Golf,
about the defense, about this team. I'm not shocked when
I sat here on Friday, you stuck out your chest
and told me how you don't believe what you just said,

(07:35):
that the commander is gonna win. You somehow think that
I'm gonna sit here and I'm just saying something to
say it you for three hours, and I told you
I've been covering this league since what year?

Speaker 2 (07:48):
I forgot nineteen? Oh, let's number one. You rushed you wrong?

Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yes, clearly they lost, but you are Are you gonna
admit you wrong?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Fifteen times? So I wonder fifteen?

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Are you going to it makes you were wrong fifteen
times because Rob g knows for fifteen weeks you said
they were gonna lose, so you weren't wrong the other
fifteen times.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
I picked him to lose. Every week.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
You know that ain't twelve out of the fifteen O
one I did not. No, I did not twelve out
of the fifteen. So against Jacks, against Jackson Okay, there's
your one. There's your one.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
I just said twelve out of fifteen.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
So a team that is fifteen and two is fraudulent
that you pick every week to lose and they don't
lose that.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Let's just start there.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
And you brought up Russell Wilson who lost five straight games,
who got blew out in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
And that's the guy you hanging your hat on.

Speaker 5 (08:35):
Yeah, because I told you he would be the starter
when he came back and he looked and he looked
terror did he come back? Was he just started for
the rest And he told you that and he looks terrible. Okay,
whatever you want, I told you, so watch how you
do this. This is the best part about it. See,
let me break down the lines real quick to prove
to something. I am a fan of the Lions. Watch
how I can be critical of something. I'm a fan

(08:56):
of something. I'm gonna school you on real quick.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
Number one, Ben Johnson made a horrible call. Absolutely, you
can't have Williams thow in that pass when you're down
ten with the chance to go down to score easily
because the offense was moving and he gives him the
ball and gives it in a kid who is always
a hot head, who's immature. You cannot do that. Absolutely.
The one big glaring flaw from Ben Johnson throughout that game,

(09:19):
Jared Goff, I even got a better name than you.
Just came up. Jared lost. Jared Kauff. He did cough
it up three times. Absolutely, he threw those interceptions. You
can't win when our best player, our quarterback, our star
players just say star quarterback is given the ball the way.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Absolutely, you can't play like that.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
But for you to act like they didn't have all
of these injuries that you were.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Banking, nothing to do with that, that had nothing to
do with this game. They had nothing to do with
this game.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Sorry, they did the defense not stop the Daniels in
that you sat on this very show and when they
stopped the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
You gave ten times credit.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
To Hoe, to Gary Dim No to Aaron g Yes,
he no, did not. I said here, and I told you,
first of all, this is what I can This is
what I told you. We both one of us can't
admit when they're right or wrong, and the other camp
like you you, I let you talk.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
You can never be wrong.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Aaron Glynn doubted up. What was wrong with that? It's okay,
I asked you once, very simple. The Lions aren't fun
to watch it on score. You couldn't answer that. I
have no problem coming in here and tell you that.
Jared cough he coughed it up. He threw a terrible interception.
The fumbling the red zone might have changed everything. They
might have gone up fourteen to three in the first quarter,
and that might have a whole different ballgame. Jared Goff

(10:38):
was a large reason why the Lions problem lost. I
have no problem that.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
Oh yet, yes you did, because we sat here on Friday,
and when I said that he would throw three interceptions,
you said you are gonna be the extreme.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
No, I was telling you extreme.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
I was telling you I'm not letting you do this,
telling you I'm not trying to tell you you talk.
Thank you, I'll let you talk for ninety seven percent
of the segment. You can't do extremes every week and
be right once and expect somebody to give you a cookie.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
That's what I'll never do.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
You can't say somebody sucks, they're gonna lose every week
and they don't, and then when they finally do once expected.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
Because I want you to show me the tape. You
do that every week?

Speaker 1 (11:17):
When does it not go to the extreme Every week
we literally make a joker segment of it. So what
I'm saying to you, you finally got it right with
Jared Goff had a bad game and still had a
chance to be in that game. So there's no denying that.
Deny what is obvious. I have no problem doing that.
They lost. The Commanders were perfect. They were literally flawless.
He didn't get sacked, he didn't throw any he being Daniels,

(11:40):
no interceptions, didn't get sacked, ran the ball well almost
three hundred yards. Couple tell them they literally were flawless.
When they get an interception, they didn't just get it in.
They picked sixty. They were flawless. Congrats to the Commanders.
They played an amazing game.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
It ain't no congrats. It was an ultimate choke job
by the Lions. Don't give them no digma. They played again.
This is not an ultimate joke. It is an ultimate
show job. It would not and a half point favorites.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
At home, and that would have who played amazing? That
was not a children.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
Did Vegas give money and just go, oh yeah, we're
gonna give not and a half points to Washington, not in.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Coverness since eighty whatever. You know it right all the time.
All right, and I'm telling you that your choke jobs
a lie.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
What happened?

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Free path to the super and it was not a
free pass. They got to be abuld have had to
beat them. They would have to possibly now we know
it would have had to beat the Eagles. It's not
free pass. What are you talking about? Yes, everything had
to come through Detroit free.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
That's what he played. That has an easier pass. That's
exactly what you just like last.

Speaker 5 (12:38):
The same coach you had, Dan King, how you last year?

Speaker 1 (12:42):
The same coach that is that has an amazing record
is a terrible coach.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
You know what his record is? Oh and too, You're.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
A terrible Rochester because you're wrong on the time you
make it makes on your standards that don't make any sense. Yes,
his team is fifteen to two Banks and his record
is oh and too. He tell he literally won the
forty nine Ers game and he lost to the Washington games.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
He won. No, No, those are the two biggest games,
Jerry Piggy. He lost them both.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
She's going to let me know when you're done, because
are you done now? Because we got a whole nother
two hour, fifteen minutes. I would like to get just let.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Me you could talk to rest the show because my
voice will be done. So I just had to make
so inconclusion.

Speaker 1 (13:27):
So again I just set up here in discussed and
broke down all the ways the Lions lost the game,
Jared coughing it up, Ben Johnson with a terrible play
call that was absolutely horrible, and finally the injuries caught
up to him. There's absolutely no way you can watch
that game and not see that. And if they if
they had seventy just seventy percent of their defensive guys,
we're talking about a whole different game.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
But that's why throws the ball and you're not. Absolutely
we're having a different game. This ain't about defense.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
That was about wait, here's the best part about it.
All you've been talking about. I don't like the Lions defense.
Now it's not about defense. I just need you to
stay consistent. Please do that for me. I am chop
down all your point.

Speaker 5 (14:06):
All I want to say to you is you the
guy who sat here, he said, despite watching all the
other issues and problems, and I tried to warn you
about Aaron Glenn.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Literally, I don't understand what you're talking about. Fifteen to two.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
That's nice against the AFC, sound against every single tea.
Here's what I told you. The idea that you really
thought they were going to the Super Bowl is laughable.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Yes, and as they continued to get injured, that became
a very difficult thing to do. But why, okay, you
just here's what going by your logic again? Vegas, Vegas, Vegas?
Who had who that Vegas had the odds to win
the Super Bowl?

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Who had who? Did Vegas have the guys favorite to
win the Super Bowl? All the Chiefs?

Speaker 1 (14:43):
They had the Lions? No they didn't, they had the Lions.
Rob Gie, Am I lying?

Speaker 2 (14:48):
No, you're not lying.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
So he wanted to go by Vegas, but now you
don't want to go by Vegas. This is what I'm
telling you, This is what I'm dealing.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
With, telling you, I sat here and tried to.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
Lost high straight and might not even have a job
he wanted. He won five straight after and he lost
five straights when it mattered, all right, Aaron Rodgers a
horrible season.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
You make up all the excuses in the world for
Aaron Rodger here, you gotta go. You gonna go to
aass cat.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
My point is to do not even know to prove
that I can break it down the Lions way.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Bet you can't.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
You can't because you're you're deep down, You're so caught up.
You had your Lions glasses on and you didn't want
to hear anything that I tried to tell you anything.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
This I did.

Speaker 5 (15:26):
And I told you about Jared loss on Friday and
when I picked them, You're picking.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
To lose another game.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
You're to lose Minnesota, Minnesota to.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Lose every week.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
Oh I did not, and I literally no, I did
not of the sixteen seventeen game, absolutely not A eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven nine
nine say it right, we see three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Did Saturday's loss to Washington prove that the Lions were
nine days on?

Speaker 1 (15:56):
The Lions will continue the conversation that begins to Lion
It is the odd couple on the Magic City Elijah,
you know, kelvin Washington.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
But this guy got right, sat here all year like
the lines were going to some super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
Please the live, live loose.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
And I was right, and I was right. Not the
other eight out of nine Fox Sports Radio, Stick and.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yeah, Stick and State were about to go still at
it off the mic like I.

Speaker 5 (16:28):
Was saying what the great words of Ron Parker says
everything I said.

Speaker 2 (16:33):

Speaker 2 (17:22):
We got all right?

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Antonio on Michigan. We can try to get through as
many calls as possible. What's happening you on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (17:28):
It's as quick as possible. I called last week the
I waked to warrant actually, and the old lady got
hit before making to the eastbound media. Six. Okay, Calvin,
I don't know what world you're in, man, but I'm
forty I'm gonna be forty nine this this there's different
forms and shapes and ideas of a curse. This team

(17:56):
is a black hole that's going nowhere. I don't know
how you can wrap seize.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
That was an absolute facad and an embarrassing embarrassment of
four months of jolly and glee.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Thank you, That's all it was. That's all it was, Antonio,
Thanks for the call.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
I don't just agree to that, but that I would
not have called them frauds for this season.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
That was a horrible game, without a doubt. Kate did Reno, Nevada.
You're in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Kate?

Speaker 7 (18:25):
How are we doing?

Speaker 2 (18:26):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Kate?

Speaker 7 (18:27):
Hey, listen, I'm a die hard Packers fan. But to
call these this team of fraud? You know, the best
team doesn't always win the Super Bowl. And you watch
every game this year, the Lions were the best team
for eighteen weeks.

Speaker 5 (18:44):
Kay didn't play anybody stopping and listen to me Kate.
Last year they were up seventeen in San Francisco with
a trip to the Super Bowl. Choke that down. They
got a back coming in Detroit. Can you spare nine
and a half point four favorites?

Speaker 2 (19:00):
Spend?

Speaker 5 (19:01):
Go look and find and see a team that gave
up a nine and a half point nine and a
half point favorites to a rookie quarterback in their crib.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
It hasn't happened. Okay, go ahead, bron you spend.

Speaker 7 (19:13):
I'm not I'm not arguing. I think the Lions are
a cursed franchise, But that doesn't make this team a
bunch of frauds. They were the best team, and they
were not the best team this past this past weekend.
But but they weren't fake all year long. They were.
They had a bad game the same way that any
other team have a bad game.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Okay, before before the Vikings game, they were giving up
thirty two and a half points per game. This is
no shocker to me, a blonde Seahawks fan in Olympia, Washington.

Speaker 2 (19:42):
You're on the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 8 (19:43):
What's up Rob Parker and Calvin Washington? Yo, Yo, Washington,
Yes they're Now, that was a great song selection by you,
Tyshert getting the you know it skating?

Speaker 4 (19:55):
That really?

Speaker 1 (19:56):
Am?

Speaker 8 (19:57):
I mean I don't think any clothes are getting taken off,
but I mean I could be wrong.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Yeah, you didn't see the commercial break, No, that's why
you got real.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
We got real.

Speaker 8 (20:05):
But about the Lions. Now, first of all, I think
Jared who Jared Coff, was a lot to blame for
this loss. You know, those horrible interceptions is just you
can't be doing that in the playoff game and expect
to win. I mean, that's just real. But the second
part of it, to call the Lions frauds is crazy.
Where they were fifteen and two all season and like
we are we forgetting that? You know, we've got like

(20:26):
half their defensive line, like their doordass drivers, Like who
even are these guys? Like if Aidon Hudgerson was there,
I guarantee that was the reason they lost forty five.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
Well, it was literally the reason they lost it was
it wasn't the reason. It was Jared Golf And maybe
we'll get to the last last call if you guys
couldn't get through. Obviously the phone lines are lit up
right now, but we got to get to Steve to Sayer.

Speaker 3 (20:46):

Joining the couple now Rob Park, Kevin Washington on The
Magic City Monday MLK Monday as well Devin Gardner, Fox
Sports College football analyst. Former University of Michigan quarterback Devin
Gardner is our guest.

Speaker 5 (21:10):
Hey, Devin, we got we gotta start with the Lions
because I gotta get your take on how are you
You're doing?

Speaker 2 (21:16):
All right, let's do that first.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna tell you the guy's
hones truth. I did a couple of shows last week
and I picked the Lions to lose, regredgingly didn't want
it to happen, but I just saw the writing on
the wall and thought they would lose, and I bet
fifty dollars and one forty. So yeah, very I benefited.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Very very nice. And that's what I tried to tell
Kelvin here.

Speaker 5 (21:40):
And once again, I know the defense and all the injuries,
but but Jared Laws showed up and this is why
he was available by the Rams, and this is why
people always we had Rod Woodson on the show a
million times and he kept saying, all we got to
see if Jared Golf turns into a pumpkin like like

(22:00):
I like, like just easily rolled out of his mouth.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
What what happened in that game?

Speaker 4 (22:07):
So for me before the game, which is I was
kind of bullish about the fact that they wouldn't be
able to win the game, is because all the turmoils,
I thought, right, you got your devs, the coordinator, you know,
he's earned the right for a new job. You offense
the coordinator, And I thought that in that game, you know,
with Jayden Daniels, who is playing the best football we've
ever seen from a rookie quarterback.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
No that's not true. That's not true.

Speaker 4 (22:30):
Well it's your opinion.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
No wait a minute, so you're telling me that Kurt
Warner wasn't the best rookie quarterback we ever saw in
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (22:40):
Kirner was a year away from the AARP. Wait a minute,
Kirk Warner, he hadn't played in the NFL. It was
a rookie. What are you telling me?

Speaker 4 (22:48):
He was a grown man.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
What's what's aokie? Had wife kids? Is he a rookie
or not? Union fees? He was a rookie, hadn't played
in the NFL. He was bagging gross. Don't disrespect rob.
He was playing in the Arena Football League exactly.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
That's professional football. He was getting paid. Jayden Dames in
front of Low still hasn't fully developed. He's not twenty
five yet, and he is playing outstanding football. So allow
me to finish the turmoil. And it felt like a
perfect pot of just gumbo to to have a letdown
just because of all the stuff that was going on
with the Lions. And then you add in the defense. Right,

(23:28):
the defense is as good as they played against the
Vikings and I should say against Sam Darnold, right, as
good as they played. You can't expect that from a
bunch of guys that and you know, no disrespect obviously,
but misfit toys. Right, you put a bunch of guys
together that I don't truly know each other, and you
expect them to perform well, and I think it was
just too much to ask, especially the way that the

(23:50):
Redskins were playing.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Yeah, the Commanders, Yeah, I got you. You know I
want to ask you this. Yeah, trust me, I do
the same thing. When you look at they get these
guys back, right, Hutchinson and a bunch of other defensive
players next year, How do you think that will affect
them when they now haven't possibly losing both the defensive
coordinator and offensive coordinator. So do you think they'll still
be able to be a good to great team or

(24:13):
is it gonna be a tremendous loss losing those two coordinators.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
I think it will be a tremendous loss. I think
they'll be a good team, and I think it remains
to be seeing if they'll be great or not. Because
the best version of Jared golf right, he had a
number of different games where he was completing fifteen passes
in a row. We've never seen this from him, and
I think it was a big part of why it was.
The coordinator Ben Johnson. I remember doing the preseason game

(24:37):
and talking to him and just talking to him as
a former quarterback is like, oh, he understands what I
need right, as everybody knows he was a former quarterback
a backup at North Carolina. So I just think that
his ability to get the best oute of Jared Golf
was something that I don't know can be replicated. But
Jared Golf has been in the league for a very
long time, so maybe he'll be able to transition out

(24:59):
on his own. About that kind of almost springing as
its coordinator, But I guess it remains to be seen.
But I think they're good enough roster that they'll be
good but great. I think that'll be a tough ass
after losing such great Secually. Ben Johnson is such a
great coordinator, and I think Lynn not Land but the
corner did an amazing job too.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
Uh the College Football Championship, let's go there. So there's
a game tonight and then spring practice is tomorrow, right,
I mean like, like, like, how late is this? I
mean it feels like it's a week or two too
too late. Uh, and that and that it's just it's
just not the juice that it should have. I don't know,
it just feels far. But I don't know how Michigan,

(25:41):
Ohio State doesn't win the championship, and am I wrong here?
They look like they're better.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
I mean I think it's I think it would be
utterly ridiculous if they don't, right. I mean, obviously a
much better roster and from top to bottom. And I
think the best player on the football for at any
given time today is going to be uh the safety
who I think was the biggest get in the transfer
portal for Ohio State coming from Alabama, first team All

(26:08):
American as a freshman and a sophomore, Caleb Downs is
unbelievable as a player and the way he plays and
the way they use him, he is the reason their
defense has been able to excel so much. Obviously their
front seven does a night job, but him in the
back end as a run stopper, as a pass defender,
I mean he literally does everything. And then he returns

(26:30):
a punt sports or kick a punpports us down the boot.
So I think that he's very important. But the thing
is for Notre Dame, I think they have a real
shot because they have the tools to have the same
plan that Michigan put together to beat them, right, and
then you have to put Ryan day on this on
this hot seat of are you going to try to
prove how tough you are? Everybody remembers that stat he

(26:51):
had with Lou Holtz about how tough his team is,
right that outburst after the game. And he's been known
to be a guy that allows his emotions to get
the best of him and not use his tools the
way he should and exhibit a with Michigan. Right, there's
no chance they shouldn't have beaten Michigan by three scores,
but they refuse to throw the ball to their talented

(27:13):
athletes that would have I think dominated Michigan because they
wanted to prove how tough they were. Right, So they
have another opportunity, and I hope for Ohio State fans
sake that he will not go in trying to prove
how tough he is, because then you play writing to
Notre Dame's hands and they can run the football. They
haven't gotten what they I think they expected out of
their quarterback as far as a passer, but it's something

(27:35):
about Riley Leonard where he's not the greatest passer. He's
actually not the greatest runner in my opinion. However, he
has like a knack for making the play when it
needs to be made, and he's done it this entire
playoffs and his team believes. And that's a scary sight
when you're a complete underdog and nobody's going to pick
you to win.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
Devin Gardner, our guess Fox Sports college football analyst, former
University of Michigan quarterback. I want to ask you just
about the overall college football playoff system now being twelve teams,
first year at it. Overall, how did you feel about
the whole system? Did you like it? What are some
of the room rooms were improving? If you have issues
with it.

Speaker 7 (28:11):
I don't, I don't.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
You're not gonna love it obviously, right, it's more trial
near than anything. But I think they did the best
they could, Right. I got a chance to go through
the process of being on the committee as like a
mock committee member, and what they do. They put the
work in, man, and I know there are always going
to be criticism for stuff they put the work in.
They watch the film. They have heated discussions. Even in

(28:35):
our mocks deal. There were some heated discussions between myself
and other guys that were on the mock panel or whatever.
And so I think they really are diligent about getting
the best teams and the teams who have earned it
into the playoffs. And with twelve teams, right, you kind
of see that the best teams will rise eventually. Right now,

(28:56):
Oregon got a bad shake. I think that the one
thing that can be improved is if you've be I'm
the number one overall seed, the reteating should definitely take place. Right.
You shouldn't have to be the number one overall. See,
you have a buy and have to go have to
see Ohio State, right while ben State get to play
play you know who they got to play, you know
what I mean. So I think that that's something that
should definitely be revisited, just like the NFL does right here,

(29:18):
you see on the graphic on TV, Kansas City will
play this team or this team depending on who wins, right,
And I think that's something that could be improved very
quickly in this one years time and then you'll just
continue to see things that you might be able to
improve on as years gone.

Speaker 5 (29:34):
Yeah, but we do have to look at it as
maybe there are four teams too many. We got all
those blowouts in the first round. Maybe they are only
eight teams and not twelve. I know they're not going
to go back financially, but the brand of football isn't great.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
I mean, at some point people want to see competitive games.

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Yeah, I understand that. But even in the NFL, in
those first rounds you have blowouts.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
Yeah I have no I agree, because they're not They
shouldn't be in the playoffs, right.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
I agree, Yeah, that's true. But you got to think
about this. Nobody on Earth would have said Tennessee shouldn't
have been in the playoffs, right. Everybody believes that they should. Yeah,
but they got black.

Speaker 5 (30:09):
They got black, black, they didn't belong and and uh,
you know, we'll see what.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Oh you got what kind of scored we're looking at?
Real quick?

Speaker 4 (30:18):
I think he's gonna be a low scoring game. I
go twenty four twenty Notre Dame.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
All right, And this is just for you. Kurt Warner
is also the first quarterback. Okay, this is from He
is also the first his whole time trying to get
the first quarterback to win a Super Bowl during his uh,
during his first season as a star.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
I just want you to know, I don't care. I
don't care. You know what man had grandkids? You want
to talk about it?

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Hey, you know what each your role played six years
in the Japanese League, came to the United States and
guess what he won his first year he was Rookie
of the Year of the Major Leagues because he had
never played in THEA in Major League Baseball.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
He was a thank you you had to go through this, man.

Speaker 4 (31:03):
I have no interest in your in your claim that
the the that forty six year old man is a
better for Ricky quarterback than the key we're watching right now.

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Hey right, Devin, man, appreciate your shout out to Inktown
Inks to the building too.

Speaker 2 (31:15):

daily Dix against the spread.

Speaker 5 (32:31):
Yes, and the game just kicked off. We got Ohio
State is my best bet minus eight and a half.
I like that a lot. We'll see about that as
my best bet. Also in the NBA, I got New
Orleans tonight.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
They are Zion playing or not my goodness.

Speaker 9 (32:48):
Minus ten and a half. Well, he must be playing,
and they're playing the Wizards. Raptors playing a bad team.
They playing the Jazz. Oh, I didn't forget about the Jazz.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Pelicans in New Orleans minus ten and a half at
home against the Jazz, and I'm taking the Clippers minus
six and a half at home taking on the bull
So Clippers minus six and a half, New Orleans minus
ten and a half and Ohio State minus eight and
a half. And remember, Kelvin, I'm not telling you who
to bet on. I'm telling you who I bet on.

Speaker 2 (33:22):
Park. I was two and one on Friday night.

Speaker 5 (33:25):
That takes me to eighteen and twenty one, So three
and oh to night and I could get back to
five hundred, right.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Who do you think looking at this game here? Not
needs it more in a sense, but like just what
for the legacy of the school? Like when we're looking
at this, what college football would want X team X
to win?

Speaker 2 (33:43):
It doesn't matter with Notre Dame.

Speaker 5 (33:44):
I know they haven't won since nineteen eighty eight, but
they have a ton of money to have a big.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
Following on episode. You know it's real when you got
your own TV loan station deal. You kidding?

Speaker 5 (33:53):
They got to deal with NBC for like thirty somebody years.
I mean they're making money hand over fist. They don't
have to share any more with any other school, Like
they got it set up and there are tendance doesn't
go down because they every won the national championship.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
Since I'm not necessarily the school of themselves, but I
meant like, if you're you know, we always say dream scenario,
Like dream scenario was Dodgers Yankees, right, if you could
draw that, it'd be Lakers Celtics.

Speaker 2 (34:16):
He sent a dream scenario. From the standpoint, is an
eight and a half point that part of it?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
I mean, yeah, the way not the Dame has been
all kind of just beating teams that everybody didn't think
they would and the fact that they made it here
in the quarterback, isn't the greatest eight and a half
is a lot?

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Yeah, World championship game, that's all. It was Like the
Lions being nine and a half point favorite. I didn't
even feel comfortable with that.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
Even that was even I went, that was a whole
We've been seeing that in the postseason, like these massive
vegas is.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Not they got to get people a bet on both sides.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
No, I'm just saying everybody, everybody in their uncle picked
the Lions the Lions, right, So if that's the case
you got somebody actually to put money down on the
on the commander what.

Speaker 2 (34:58):
We just had Devin Gardner on he said, been safer dollars.
That don't even make sense.

Speaker 1 (35:04):
That guy leave out of out of did that even
with a Lions turtle did that.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
That's crazy money right there.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
But yeah, I just I think, yeah, I think Notre
Day kind of has this this little little magical run going, right.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
I'll be interested to see any other thing.

Speaker 5 (35:19):
You know as much Jane Daniels is tremendous, but he's
not the first quarterback to start a conference gat Like
people are making it like this has never been done.
Five people have done it before him. Like that's That's
what I'm trying to say, is like pump the breaks.
I get it, he's excited. It's fresh and new, But
it ain't like nobody that rookies have started.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Five guys have done it. Not nobody.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
This is the first time ever, Like be careful with
I think it's more so not this fact that he's starting.
It's the fact of how grat he looked, like you
know what I mean, it's not starting. I get that
because anything can happen, right, you could just kind of fumble,
fall into it, u injury here there next time.

Speaker 2 (35:58):
But I think they've.

Speaker 5 (35:59):
Both been very lucky and and and that doesn't that
doesn't take away from his uh ability and what he's done.
There were four games I think they won, four games
in the final ten seconds that they easily could have
gone the other way if they don't get that fumble.
There was one turnover in that Tampa Bay game. If
they don't get that fumbled, they don't win that game.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
But I mean, but there is something to luck that
he keeps happening to the same team, like the City
Chiefs keep getting lucky, you know what I mean. And
I've even said it, like that kick didn't how they
make that kick or that kick, this, this they blocked
this and last second the big toe by the the
likely the tight end.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
For at the referees thenation another penalty. We're gonna get
to that in a little bit too.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
But but yeah, at a certain point, you're almost like, Okay,
how lucky can they keep being? And there's so we
got a whole week to gear up for this football
uh and you know, we get close to these conference
championship games. But man, if y'all looked at that story
of jayde and Daniels. I didn't know he was going
in the matrix, rob Ge, I'm unaware of Jaydon Daniels
like setting a new trend that might be the new

(37:03):
thing for all college quarterbacks. Uh and maybe you know,
if it's college, then it's gonna be high school. There's
gonna be a bunch of kids doing it. They who
knew Madden could make you one of the best quarterbacks
in the NFL. He was doing his virtual reality stuff,
watching it at one zero point seventy five speed faster
than the actual real time. And he's been doing that
since his LSU days. And if you look at him pride.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
As soon as he throws three picks, they'll forget that story.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
As soon as he was he was like, eh, middling
quarterback before that. Start doing that. He wants a Heisman.
Start doing that. He's balling in the NFL. And uh
So it's interesting. Copy is always a copycat league. When
somebody's doing something, I'm wondering how many people gonna walking
around and practices.

Speaker 2 (37:44):
And that you Kyler Murray started that a right remember
call of duty?

Speaker 10 (37:48):
Yes, he was the first gaming quarterback where he thought
I ain't worried about the playbook.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Let me get my XP points up.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
Don't be doing call of duty. In the same with
this man living in the virtual world playing.

Speaker 10 (37:57):
He thought he was doing something. He was and you know,
game planning. It just didn't really work after work. Is
he coun be an MLB pitcher and he is starting quarterback?
Maybe while sitting here talking smack, I'm doing it wrong,
Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
Is time we got to talk about it.
