Speaker 1 (04:19):
I see that's very excited about Elijah And I thought
y'all were.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Cool, Like Himer is my favorite. You love soccer, soccer
watch his anime with me.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
That's right, I have that. There you go.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
So a lot to get to on this Magic City Monday,
including uh some a lot of football and Chador made
his debut. Cops pushing football players, people spitting on each other.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
This just so much. This is so much, like so much,
like they gotta relax.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
We're gonna talk about it. But the spinning is getting crazy?
Did I miss something? Was there a spin a tht
a memo that went out.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Hey, we're gonna spin on everybody all at twenty twenty five?
Speaker 7 (04:59):
You know?
Speaker 3 (04:59):
The other thing to like, that's the lowest thing you
could do, you could do all but spitting on me. Yeah,
that that's the kind of stuff that's kind of so disrespectful.
Uh but uh, rob g, can can we start with
the Lions and Eagles on Sunday Night football? You know?
(05:20):
Kind of a boring game. It was unless you like
defense or a pitcher's duel or whatever. But it was
kind of glaring about the Lions and just that that
really going into that gift field goal that they got
at the end where Sreanni gave them a field goal.
They had six points the entire game.
Speaker 8 (05:42):
Yeah, it was rough, especially for one Kelvin doub Washington,
because he was very excited about this game, measuring stick
for the Detroit Lions super Bowl bound, and then they
just didn't measure up, but did not show up in
any way shaping.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
You know, it's funny when we did our pick on Friday,
you weren't here. I was like, when you were here?
Ean was here. When he brought it up, they heard
me go because I just didn't. I didn't like this
game for the Lions. The Eagles have mucked up every
game this season. That's just what they do. And the
Lions ain't the best when it comes to muck up
ugly games. That's just not their thing. So I walked
(06:16):
away from that not feeling great. But go ahead, ROGI.
Speaker 8 (06:18):
Yeah, and especially if you are a fan of one
Jared Goff. Now, Jared Goff is a pro Bowl caliber quarterback. No,
it's been in the Super Bowl. One thing that you
can say about him, though, is number one, he doesn't
play well in cold weather. It's that show that And
number two, if you can get him off his spot,
he becomes very mediocre. Last night against the Eagles, he
(06:39):
completed just thirty eight percent of his throws, the lowest
by any quarterback this season. That includes justin field and
door standers.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
We'll get to him later, which is.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
Craz which is horrible.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
It was also the worst completion percentage of his NFL career.
Keep in mind, coming into Sunday, he's completing over seventy
percent of his passes. I'll go from seventy thirty is
really bad. He was oh of twelve, passing one under pressure,
the second most incompletion in the game in his career.
The last quarterback to have twelve attempts and zero completions
under pressure Blake Bortles in twenty seventeen.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
All bad for Jared Goff and the Lions. Yeah, and
the worst part about this for me? And I said
this to Rob maybe when two weeks ago I lost
to the Vikings. We are having this conversation and I
believe it now more than ever, that the countdown has
begun for Jared Goff. Not that he won't be a
quality quarterback, as you mentioned, Rob, not that he won't
(07:36):
have a high percentage completion percentage, that's what he does.
But the idea that you can continue to think you're
going to win a Super Bowl after about this season,
maybe next, Rob, because right now they have an infrastructure
built in right this is what we are, this is
the system, this is it. So they're in a good
place still expecting to make the playoff. They made it
harder on themselves yesterday. But I watched that game realizing
(07:56):
and I've mentioned it before, as we have other TVs
going on here right now.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
They got the Chiefs and the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
I'm looking at bow Knicks and I'm looking at Patrick Mahomes,
both guys who can make some plays. I'm looking at
other games that we got to hear. Both guys who
can make plays with their feet. And Jared Goff, if
you put the pressure on him, he is not able
to do anything else. And he is the last of
that Tom Brady Peyton Manning, somebody's coming. I'm just gonna
drop down that stand up in the pocket, can't do anything,
(08:24):
is gone. And obviously the Eagles do the blueprint, bring
the interior pressure, bring the defensive lineman on him, and
he'll get rattled. And they even had Jalen Carter talked
about we knew if we blocked a few of his passes,
he would even get right on and get down on himself.
So I watched that game saying, man, you can't be
the last of the dying bree He's the last of
the I can't move in the pocket, I can't run
(08:44):
because if you look at bow Knicks is not having
an amazing season, Jackson Dart hasn't had an amazing season.
But some of these guys are able to make game
winning plays here or there, Rob Parker, because they can
get out the pocket, or if the play breaks down,
they can go pick up that first down right, And
it's not the they're having two hundred and eighty five
yards and eighty percentage. It's that they can make a
(09:04):
player two and Jared Goff if it's not there based
on the play that was exactly called.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
He can't do that.
Speaker 1 (09:11):
And the league is becoming a custom to playing that
kind of guy. Think about it, who's not that kind
of guy. Josh Allen, Jered Goff, Justin Herbert, Jayson Daniels,
all these guys, Jalen Hurd, the Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence,
everybody can move, Justin May Drake May.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
I mean everybody can move. And you see that Jared
Goff can.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
And this is not going to be sustainable past this
last two or three years when they had a shot.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Well, that doesn't make sense to me. Why why would it?
Why would it be sustainable this year and next year
or the year after. I'm saying this year. I'm saying
this year, And that's a fair question. The reason why
I said this year I said the reason I said
this year, everybody ain't the Vikings. Everybody ain't but the team.
But there's a game plan there that tells you, right,
But when you have a game plan and want to
(09:55):
beat the Warriors when you couldn't, but you couldn't, what
I'm saying is everybody isn't those two teams. But as
the year goes by, next year, you can start to
formulate and you can start getting they're going to become
accustomed to chasing down the darts.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
But I don't understand why you can't do that. Thisause
everybody I just do This is just me.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
I don't just know the teams are built this way,
like this is the reason why they've never lost twelve
or twice in a row and like thirteen losses and
they haven't lost tof because you can't just go, well,
that was the blueprint, let's just try a.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
Lot a lot.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
But a lot of it has to also do with
the schedule and who they've played, who they beat.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Rocos, but in the playoffs you're gonna be playing better teams,
but they might not be.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
So when you say.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
That that's why they haven't lost two in a row
or whatever it is, I could look at the schedule
and say, yeah, well the schedule.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Where everybody can't do that. So that was the teams
that I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
But in the playoffs, when you have a time to
game plan for somebody and you see a weakness, I
just think it's bigger than that. And again, Dan Gamble.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
That's another whole story.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Dan Gamble continues to be you know, the Lions were
the enemy. And the other thing too is I know
everybody just accepted it that he took over the play
calling right. They Actually we were with Johnny Morton, Johnny Morton,
the new offensive quarter. They were averaging twenty nine points
a game. When he made a change. That was strange.
(11:17):
I thought he was something was wrong with him. He's
at the hospital for me. Not even be funny because
because like all of a sudden, I think they had
the bad what loss was that they had a bad
They had a loss and then he made the change
the viks one loss. Like before that, they were rolling,
they were putting up points and all this other stuff.
And and they scored fifty two against the Bears earlier
this year Game two, remember after struggling in game one.
(11:41):
So that was weird. Zero for five fourth down, not
taking points, all kinds of stuff that game. That was
a defensive struggle.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Take the points. This wasn't a blowout or a shootout.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Before before they got that the Eagles got that other touchdown,
they were nip and tuck right there.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
That didn't make any sense, Like I shot to myself,
this isn't a shootout. This is two teams defensively playing
and you just need to put up points every time
you get close. And what were they I said, zero
for five fourth down on fourth down, and I think
they were, like.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
They're terrible and third down, yeah, three for.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Eighteen on third and fourth down combined, three for eighteen.
I mean, those are those are those situations. And and
I'm you know, you know, I picked them not to
make the playoffs. And I feel even better after that
game and I going to Philly and losing that game.
It's not the end of the world. But I'm just
looking at the schedule and looking how they had no
fight in that game, like they disagreed.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
I don't think they Well, here's what I mean. Offensively,
there you go.
Speaker 1 (12:43):
I want to say that defense showed up every single
possession except for maybe one and even even.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
But even then that you know, they only had, like
I said, the six points going to the last three minutes.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
This is on the offense with a lot of weapons.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
There's no reason they should have six six points And
Sirianni gave them the last field goal. Who goes for
it a fourth down.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
On your own when the team had been hurting, and
you give them points.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
You're giving them like I like you, your defense.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
Have been that.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
If they don't, if the fourth, if the passing fear
is don't happen, say Lions go down score or whatever.
Bench Ultimately they do that. But I'm just saying because
that was a big like, it made no sense. Your
defense have been playing spectacularly. Hunt the ball and let
the defense play.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
And if they and if the Lions get two scores
in three minutes, you don't deserve you don't deserve to win.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Let me, let me id this missed my last point.
Real hit you under Dan Campbell, Dan Gamble as we
call them. Here's my concern Lions fan. Obviously you know
I got him going far. The concern the one thing
if I had a chance to do is sit down
with them. I happened to run into him in the elevator.
My thing is he has no in each game, each quarter,
(13:53):
each half, awareness, meaning if the ethos is were tough,
we go for We did it. That's great, right, you
have your ethos, this is your team. But each game,
each half, each quarter, each drive requires a different thought process.
To your point, this is a defensive game. We're on
the road, it's cold, it's hey, let's take the three
(14:15):
because that's gonna matter in this type of gas.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
And every game is different.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
When you're playing a team, you know you're gonna blow
and you decide to go for for let's put him
out early, Okay, I get it.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Or the Eagles are scoring on a touchdown on every
position touchdown, we can't win this year.
Speaker 1 (14:30):
That's why they do that against the Ravens. Remember they
didn't because I get against the Ravee. You know it's
gonna be one of those games. He needs to be
able to contextualize each game, each half, each drive, and
he struggles with that, like, if you're gonna go for it,
just straight up go for it, don't do a fake
punt on your own side of the ball.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Just go for it.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
Then now you know what he be going for it. It
is one of our go for it plays, not a
fake punt. So my issue with him, and you know
I've said it off here. He concerns me in that
he can't read each game. Sometimes each game is more
this is just who we are are, okay, coach, But
this is one of those games we can If we
can beat the Eagles, that's a big win. Let's just
kick the field goal. And I don't know if it
his players got to come up and is it cut
(15:08):
with we co with the three? We cool with the three?
Speaker 4 (15:10):
This time coach.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Sometimes those factor in down the street later on again.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
And they turned to Eagles because the Eagles go, you know,
starts to change. We gotta score. Maybe they press and
maybe they go for it too much, and like it
changes the game when you keep getting points versus walk
away with nothing, nothing nothing, nothing.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Nothing, all right?
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Three one, three, my god, eight seven seven, give my phone. Yeah,
I thought you did.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Definitely that's Detroit eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Do the Lions have a Jared Goff problem in Detroit?
Dan Gamble? Is he another issue there? I think he's
even a bigger problem than I would really do.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
I'd have to agree.
Speaker 3 (15:49):
We'll continue that conversation next with you. It is The
Odd Couple on the Magic City Monday, Rob Parker, Kelvin
Washington right here on Fox Sports Radio. And you know
what you need to do and stay.
Speaker 6 (16:02):

a Magic City Monday for you boys. Rob Parker kelvin Washington,
got a big show coming up. Mike Jones, who Mike Jones?
Get read to join us the Athletic National NFL Writer
in about five minutes or so, and shout out to
everybody on YouTube right now soccer's running that for us.
Odd couple FSR go ahead search it. And by the way,
(17:43):
when I was doing the shows on the road home,
yes last week, I was, you know, I had it
all said. I was watching YouTube, kind of got to
pay attention to the comments a little bit, and then yeah,
we got a nice little community in there. They do,
Robi to your point, they do find a random left
turn and they would just ride that conferenceation. Hello me
and Robert talking on something else now, but I'm name right,
but I'm still riding it. There you have it, so again,
(18:04):
shout out to all the youtubeans. Add a couple FSR,
go find it subscribed like share. We appreciate it, all right,
we're talking about the alliance. Is it a Jared Gofisher
that you're concerned with? Is it Dan Campbell aka Dan Gamble?
Or are you just fine with where they are? Eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox?
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Who we are?
Speaker 4 (18:19):
Mike in Montana.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
I can't believe anybody would be cool with where they
are right now?
Speaker 4 (18:24):
Mike, you're in the odd coup eight six and four.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yeah. They only lost two games last year. They've doubled
that already. They're a human Okay, what.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
Are supposed to go? Fifteen and two again?
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Yeah, Mike and Montana, you're in the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. What's up, buddy?
Speaker 7 (18:39):
How's it going? Calvin Rob it's been a minute. I
don't think I spoke to you both since it since
the I'd lost in the playoffs last year, the.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
One I called against Washington, right, Hey, Rob, I.
Speaker 7 (18:50):
Called back and took my heat for it too, Man,
I called back and I took the heat.
Speaker 5 (18:54):
It was a game.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Yeah, it was doubt.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
So here's the deal.
Speaker 7 (18:59):
One off miss and Laporta, who's been his number one
outlet receiver for the whole season, that's a major hit
right there, is that his safety that disappeared and is
gone for maybe the rest of the season. The way
they're talking about it.
Speaker 1 (19:08):
It sounds like that because I told Rob g that
that was a big loss.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
Those third and two, fourth and two. That's who he
would go, right.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
And it's not just the dude chips and so what
was the big problem was the defensive line for Philly overwhelmed.
We got new guys, we got a rookie at the
right guard.
Speaker 5 (19:24):
We I ain't playing.
Speaker 11 (19:25):
I get it.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
They there you go.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
You know, they got these guys playing, and it is
a newer system for the guys in front in terms
of the guards right and Ratledge was getting bull rushed
and what was happening the d tackles new if we
push in the middle, we raise our hands, we're gonna
knock that ball around five bat passes. That's coaching and
scheming by Philly d.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Mike, I knew they were ready for that, Fike, I
got that.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
But here's the other thing too, When you look at
their wins, they've only been two teams over five hundred.
That's that's okay, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
Mike, I want. I want that Ravens win back. Don't
do that.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
No, I'm just saying, Ravens are five and five over five. No,
but I'm coying that as all over five about to
be okay, But I'm just saying right now, Mike knows this. Uh,
the Bears were over five hundred. Who weren't when they
beat him? You know what I mean? But they are?
Speaker 4 (20:19):
And then what was the other? One was the other?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
The Tampa Bay and Tampa Bay those are the only
two wins.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
That's the thing that's right.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
Don't do that, Okay, Ryan, and last week we all
did the schedule and we like it in our favor.
Speaker 4 (20:32):
I'm just it works for me.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
Now my narrative, Brian, you'red couple of Fox Sports Radio.
What's up beat to talk to you?
Speaker 5 (20:40):
Yeah, you know, he's a good quarterback. He was a
super Bowl champ not many years ago.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
No no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (20:47):
No, no no. He went to the Super Bowl, right,
he didn't he didn't win.
Speaker 5 (20:53):
Yeah, well yeah, I got you on that. But he
was in the Super Bowl a few years ago. Anyway,
I think he's a he's I think he's got a
warm weather arm. It was forty five degrees. It's felt
like thirty three degrees. Last night. He was throwing some
low balls towards the end of the game there. I
think his arm is getting cold. I think he's a
warm weather. That's quarterback.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
That's what they say.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
Rogers.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
The numbers right bear it out that he does not
perform well, Well, he better man up, because da you
know this is about to be December.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
Bran, thanks, you appreciate it, no doubt, appreciate it, all right,
all the way.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Mike Jones, who Mike Jones will talk to him in
a minute, right now, Moncy Bolognas, what are you doing here?
Speaker 4 (21:32):
That's not what you said.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
What you doing here on a Monday?
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Get a Monday, mons a Monday time and time you
get on.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
A Monday, Moncey. This is what this is what I
want to hear you about to say. This is what
he said. He didn't say. Bologna is what he said.
It's our first name. See why we did and if
(22:05):
you asked me.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
I just want it on the record.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
Mon this is always your fault because you have your.
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Power to press.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Player because them up and then we got to go there.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Nobody calling you out.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
Yes, I said two years you can't say your name?
I said you did not? Why is she here? I'll
go to the you said many Bologna something?
Speaker 3 (22:37):
Okay?
Speaker 6 (22:37):
That we have Alex, Yeah, it's fine.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Rob Parker and kelvin Washington weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (22:53):
It is the on a Magic City Monday. We are
joined now by Mike Jones. Mike Jones, the athletic NFL riter.
He's probably tired of hearing that for the last twenty
years by Mike Jones on X.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
Make sure you give him a follow there. Mike, what's up?
Speaker 7 (23:07):
Brother?
Speaker 11 (23:08):
Hey, I's got Jones this morning, this evening.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
That's Monday, min Are you in Japan right now? Sorry? Tuesday? Hey,
let's start here, Mike. We we were just talking about
the Lions and Dan Campbell and taking over the play
calling three for eighteen on third and fourth down. They
just really had nothing going against Philadelphia. They did get
(23:33):
the gift three point the field goal at late in
the game with three minutes ago. That was a weird thing.
But where are you gauging the Lions and where they
are because everybody in Detroit said this was their measuring
stick and they didn't measure up.
Speaker 11 (23:47):
Yeah, you know, I think that this is going to
be something that Dan Campbell looks back and you know, look,
they lost a offensive wizard in Ben Johnson, and I
felt like the move to promote from within with John Morton.
I know that he was looking at continuity, but I
think that, look, you have an opportunity here, you got
(24:08):
one of the best teams in the NFC. You don't
want to be complacent and make a safe move. I
think he should have cast a wider net.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
And we're seeing now we said that we both agree
like with that you got to go for the best
offensive coordinator available those weapons.
Speaker 11 (24:26):
Right right, and that they're suffering, and so I wonder, now, look,
there's so long way they still gonna work out some kinks.
You know, It's interesting to me, Okay, is there nobody
else that can call plays? Mark Brunell, David Shaw like
you know they can't because Dan Campbell I don't think
this is his thing. He's a great motivator, he's a
(24:46):
great leader, but some of the decisions as a play caller,
you could just tell that he is not, you know,
fluent in that, and so I hope that they're not
limiting themselves again. I still I think they have an
opportunity to make a deep playoff run. They still are
super talented, but they got a lot of kinks to
work out there as far as that operation, as far
(25:08):
as the play calling and putting this offense in the
best position to succeed, because look, you've got a running
back tandem like you have there, and to hardly use
them last night was just really really I know they
gets tough defensive front in Philly, but you got to
keep them honest and help, you know, flow that pass
rush by running the football, and they didn't do that.
(25:29):
And so there's going to be, you know, really gonna
be watching them closely to see how they worked to
sing out and position themselves for successfully into the postseason.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Yeah, Rob has them not making it. I haven't making it.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
They made it harder on themselves obviously with a loss
like that, but again, that's a tough Eagles team.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Right before the season, I picked them and the Chiefs
not to make the playoffs, and I want to go
down with the Chiefs because I'm looking Kelvin thought their
offense was backing and everything in the last couple of weeks,
and they that was a huge game for Denver. And
(26:04):
what do you make of the Chiefs and where they are?
Think about the only loss? What two games last year
one where Mahomes started, and they have five losses here
we are through ten games.
Speaker 11 (26:13):
Yeah, And the most amazing thing was, look, last year
they won eleven, they were eleven to zero in one
score games, and this year they're zero to five. And
that's just amazing to me because I always feel like, man,
you can't bet against Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid and Steve Spagnola.
They always give you a chance, and here they have
not been able to do that this year. They've come
(26:35):
up short in those situations. And now like they right
now are in that situation where they'd be on the
outside looking in because they've lost to the other teams
that are a positioned for a wild card. They've lost
the Buffalo, they've lost to you know, Jacksonville.
Speaker 4 (26:50):
They've lost a lot of good teams too.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
That's the other thing. When you look at who they've
beaten me and who they've lost to, it's scary, right.
Speaker 11 (27:00):
So I look at this and I still think, look,
they have the talent, something's missing, you know. I think
some of it is, Look, the competition, the has caught
up to them. You've got a Hall of Fame coach
and Sean Payton in your division, you know, and so
you know, you look at that, and he's got that offense.
(27:20):
There's still got kings to work out there. But they
have their defense that is playing at a championship level
there in Denver, and now they are firmly in the
driver's seat there. And so I think the competition catching
up to the Chiefs is one thing. But also, look,
they've got, you know, some young guys in key roles
on offense and on defense. And then you have some
of the other guys that you've leaned on that maybe
(27:41):
you're having a little drop off. But you know, Chris
Jones doesn't come off the edge nearly as much anymore.
Travis Kelsey looked like he had a resurgence last night,
but hasn't been the same type of dominant force there.
And so, yes, you still have Patrick Mahomes, but Patrick
Mahomes didn't even look good last night, and so they've
got to dial in. You know, they have very little
margin for error. They have the Kansas I mean Kansas City.
(28:05):
They're hosting Indianapolis this coming week and that's gonna be
a big game. They don't want to fall further into
this hole because if they do, it might take ten
to eleven wins to make the postseason. And you know,
right now they're at five hundreds, and you know, one
loss could could do it for him.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Mike Jones, our guests, the Athletic National NFL writer own
with the Akaba Robin Kelvin. Another game, at least on paper,
was going to be a good but it ended up
being a good one as far as you know, the
exciting but the offensive excitement wasn't there? Two good defensive
teams Seahawks taking on the Rams. Rams ultimately get to win.
Sam donald look bad with fordnal. Sam McDonald's right. What
(28:45):
the Rams wasn't great offensively, but they able to get
to win defensively, And I'm lucky that they missed that
lost said that that punt. Who knew the punt would
be the player of the week. But what do you
make of the Rams in the Seahawks? Is that just
a tough loss or was there something there?
Speaker 9 (29:02):
No?
Speaker 11 (29:02):
I mean, I think that death was maybe maybe the
game of the year. It is an amazing chess match
where you have Sean McVay, one of the brightest offensive minds,
going against Mike McDonald, one of the best defensive mind
and look, even with the four interceptions, I mean give
Chris Shula, the Rams defensive coordinator, a lot of credit
(29:23):
because he had the perfect game plan, forcing Sam Donald
to a lot of mistakes, making him really uncomfortable. But
even so, you know, the the Rams started off that game,
their offense was clicking, and then the adjustments that Seattle
was able to make and make things hard on them,
and it was really back and forth defensive struggle, and
(29:44):
you know, the Rams were able to you know, eat
that one out there. It's going to be interesting to
see next time they face each other. It'll be up
in Seattle and the stakes will be very high. I
still think that the Rams are one of the best
teams the NFC, and I still think that that they're
the future. This year even is bright for Seattle. But
(30:06):
Sam Darnold's got some work to do when he, you know,
comes under pressure. We've seen him now in big games
twice against the Rams last year, also against the Lions
when those quality teams is top level defenses and a
lot of pressure. He really was not able to deliver.
And so we'll see how he continues to evolve down
the stretch of this season because the blueprints there now
(30:28):
and so he's got to respond.
Speaker 3 (30:30):
Hey, Mike, last thing, Uh, the Raiders are playing the
Cowboys tonight in Vegas. And I don't want to say
that Pete Carroll's old, but I looked at his Uh,
I got the menu for the pregame meal, which is
DCAF coffee, sodium free bacon, and the chest X way.
I mean, I Mike, help me. I didn't like to
hire in the beginning, And where are the Raiders going here?
(30:54):
Because it has not been it's been it's it's been
a disaster and not just Gino like everything like what
the Raiders are bad?
Speaker 11 (31:03):
Yeah, I mean I think that it's a situation where
there's a lot to clean up and it's gonna take
a while to undo some of the damage that they've
had there. I mean, outside of brock Bowers, can you
really name an impactful draft pick that they've had the
last several years. So when the coverage is kind of bare,
it might take a little bit of time.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
When you hire a seventy five year old, I mean, what, like,
what it's a five year plan. I mean you know
what I'm saying, like, I don't get right.
Speaker 11 (31:33):
Yeah, And I was just about to say, like, they
don't have a whole lot of times. I think that
was good in a sense that he brings credibility and
can help restore order. But by the time that you
just start getting things turned the right way, I mean,
he's gonna be looking at, you know, retirement. But maybe
(31:55):
they're like, hey, we just got to get our foundation
in place and then we're build from there. But yeah, yeah,
they they I feel like, you know, and and Tom
Brady's involved in this right here, and so expectations are
high there. But this is gonna be very interesting because
you don't have a whole lot of time. Maybe the
succession plans have peat Carroll and then tearing it over
(32:15):
to Chip Kelly. But this offense is not looking great
with Chip Kelly. And every time that, uh, every time
the Sam Donald has a big game, you're like, man,
they picked Gino Smith over Sam Donald. Now some of
that has to do with Sam Donald's comfort with the
offense with Kubiak who it was just in San Francisco
and in the similar offense to Minnesota. And Gino has comfort,
(32:39):
you know with Pete Carroll, but he did not run
this offense in Seattle. These people aren't fitting.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Right and they don't.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
Yeah, and we'll see tonight maybe Monday night. They can smart.
Cowboys roll, Cowboys roll, all right, and I appreciate you man,

the Cowboys all I think favorite. So take them minus
to points. And remember, Calvin, I'm not telling you who

Rob G's never been to Buffalo. He's been in New
York though, because he wore Timberland boots when he went
to New York. You felt like nads or something. You
feel woul tangs or something with a.
Speaker 8 (37:12):
Triple fat goose and a shisty hot.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
Yeah, with a sisty too.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
You got a shisty Oh yeah, you took it to
a whole new level. Anywhere in the sisty is in
the summer. Now, relax, Alex.
Speaker 3 (37:22):
Have you been to New York yet?
Speaker 6 (37:23):
I have not.
Speaker 3 (37:24):
You need to.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
I feel all Americans should have to either be an
eighth grade trip or senior trip.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
You gotta go. Have you been?
Speaker 3 (37:35):
You've been to New York?
Speaker 5 (37:36):
Right?
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Yeah, it's just this, Manzy, what about you New York?
Speaker 3 (37:40):
No, I love New York.
Speaker 6 (37:42):
I don't think Alex will like New York.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
I'm starting, But Alex, you know what I think why
you would like it once you see all the different people.
I'm dead serious, Like that's the part to me. As
you walk the streets.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
You know that I would like it, Manzi, because Alex
would be like you know about New York. I went
to each corner and like there's a different person, it's
a different story. And I'm just walking on the walk, right,
I want to run through the crosswalk. My man said, hey, man,
you have the time, and I realized he didn't mean
a watch because that's the deposition that time is not infinite,
And so I talked to him about the understanding that
the cerebral understanding of time is limited to you would
(38:17):
love it, just walk It's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
And then, Alex, the best part is you'll be able
to bite into a hot dog there on East Corner,
right from a dirty water dog, all right, from some
n run from rats, right right at our giant and eating,
carrying a slice of pizza with him as well. But
I think you would. I think you guys would. No,
(38:39):
the pizza's not overrated in New York's copit. Stop saying that.
Don't even say don't even care about that.
