Rob and Kelvin argue over whether Brock Purdy has shown enough in his NFL career to deserve a massive contract extension and explain why the NFL needs to abolish its rule mandating that only players three years removed from high school are eligible for the NFL Draft. Plus, former NFL quarterback and FOX Sports Radio NFL analyst Shaun King swings by to discuss Purdy’s long-term future, whether it even matters that Patrick Mahomes’ numbers are down across the board this season and much more!

Speaker 3 (01:32):
And I hope you're enjoying it on your Friday night
where it might be driving home ready for the weekend,
or just hanging out with us, listening in the backyard
or something and getting ready for this baseball game, which
a lot of people have a chance to watch on
a Friday night. Not that often, a very big, meaningful
baseball game on a Friday night feels weird.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
And not only that, you said meaningful. One that's been contentious, right,
has some drama, has some attitude, have a little beef
into it. Because sometimes you get a good game, this
good game for the sake of it, but this one.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Is actually lived up to it.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Right.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
You literally couldn't draw this up, and it's hard to
do that.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
In baseball. We've talked about like.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
If you had the you know, the Warriors versus certain
team and their prime, you kind of knew what you're
gonna get, Like, all right, it's gonna be Warriors calves.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
And when Lebron was there.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
This was like, all right, you got Dodgers padres. Okay,
can it actually go the distance?

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Check? Okay? Can there be drama infusing it? Check? So
it's like checked all the boxes.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Home runs, someone's gonna yeah, and someone's gonna go home hurt,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, So that is great, man.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
This is great for whether you fans of the teams
or not, or the best part about postseason anything is
you get the casual fan who's like, all.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Right, let me just peep in and they're like, oh
shoot man, this is exciting. They're going at it right.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah, Like you said, this drama here between these two teams,
some bad blood, the incident at Dodger Stadium, some of
the other stuff. Like there's there's a lot of subplots
as well, so uh, definitely something will keep our eye
on as this is about to kick off and get started.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I should say in law, matter a few nuts here, Yeah,
no doubt.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
All right, let's talk about brock perty you're ready to
give him seventy million dollars. You've seen enough. He's the
greatest quarterback ever.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Explained, all time, the goat, the greatest thing ever. Pay
the manness money, like they said in rounders.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
No.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Look, I just think he has done everything we've asked
of him. It almost feels like we keep pushing the
goal post, you know. And I don't mean literally you
and I, but just you. Hey, Well, maybe he locked
into it. It was a situation where he fell into
a good sitch. Okay, cool boom. All I've done is
ball got you to a NFC Championship game, got you
to a super Bowl, and was actually up in the
Super Bowl. Well, well, well it's just a system. Okay,

(03:46):
then a bunch of players go out. This year, he's
still balling and putting up big numbers and keeping them
afloat until everyone's back. And so I mean, this guy,
it's like what it's like, Alex, you got my tyres?
What more do you want from me? That's what I
feel like it is for him, Like what more do
we want from him? If you look at the numbers
rob he's put up last season and end of this season,

(04:08):
he set franchise record for passing yards and a franchise
with two of the great quarterbacks of all time, Steve
Young and Joe Montana.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Has a game changed at all since then? I'm just
just I'm not trying to No, No, I'm not dock party.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
The game has changed, right I just a body of
plays now are destroying the numbers that the greats then
throw the ball like this.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Okay, but he's doing he's putting up to say, he's
putting the up numbers and leading the passing and leading
the league currently where everybody is passing. So it's one
of those things where I'm like, I honestly don't get
what more people want from this man.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
He wins, he's uh, there's no drama.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
He seems to be a great leader from all accounts, uh,
and guys love to play for him. You heard Deebo Samuel,
you had your back, you had a great game.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
What was it?

Speaker 1 (04:53):
He said, Brock Purdy, That's all he said. So for me,
this guy is about to break the bank. You know me,
I'm not I'm a big fan of I have to
pay the next guy whatever. Okay, that got sixty and
I gotta pay him sixty eight. But somewhere wherever leading
him in the top three or four, I think he's
gonna get that. He deserves it, And to me, I
don't know. In the words of Tyree's what more do

(05:13):
you want from me.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
Paid that to me and his money.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
What they want is to actually win a super Bowl
because they've been a good team even before he got there.
And that's what hurts him. It's not that he's mister Irrelevant.
It's not because there have been other people who have
shown up in the NFL. Right, Kurt Warner is the

(05:39):
perfect example. Everybody keeps saying the reason that they don't
buy into Brock perties because he missed irrelevant. Can you
tell me where k Warner was drafted? Can you tell
me where Kirk he was not drafted?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Right?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
He was playing a renal football league in bagging groceries. Okay,
And this guy, the reason people bought into him is
he came into the league, he won Rookie of the Year,
he won an MVP, and the Rams won a Super Bowl.
That's why you didn't have to convince people about Kurt Warner.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
The reason that people haven't bought into Brock Purdy is
because they went to the Super Bowl with Jimmy g
They've been going to NFC Championship game before he got there.
It's not to take anything away from him, but those
are the facts. Had the forty nine ers been also,
Rams could never make the playoffs Kelvin, you know what

(06:34):
I mean, And then he got there and got them
to a super Bowl. Then you would say, wow, you
know what I mean, you would And this is what
they've had, you know, without him, they've had two appearances
in an NFC Title Game and they've gone to.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
The super Bowl, you know.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
So that's why people are luke warm and the idea
that the forty nine is going to break the bank
on a guy, especially now they went to the super
Bowl last year. I'm just asking you, say they fall
short this year, does that make you still want to
go out?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Say just say he plays fine, and.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I'm not saying that to be terrible, but does that
make you want to break the bank? If they don't
even get back to the super Bowl this year?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Man, I'm go get my slaghammer.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
I'm cracking the bank open, absolutely because he is playing
well this year with or without the Avengers. Obviously with
the Avengers when everybody's healthy and they're going again. I
look at everything because it's not just about it, it's
the full spectrum. If I'm gonna make you the guy,
can I trust you in the building? Can I trust
you not gonna have ninety five massuits, massage parlor ladies

(07:43):
filling lawsuits?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Can I trust you?

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Now? Want?

Speaker 2 (07:45):
Does Deshaun Watson gotta get strayed? What he cat?

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Because that's who they chose to give the most money
ever guaranteed to in the NFL history to that guy
that one forever. Somebody's at the dinner right now, just
sitting there like so looking up.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
I can't believe he just did.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Like what made So what if they massage just wallet?
I just don't understand what the issue is.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Yeah, it's a whole bunch of massage and going on
too many, that's the problem. And I look at Rock
Purty and I'm like, man, everybody can't be Kurt Warner
where I'm a Hall of Famer, Uh, you know, So
I don't want to judge.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
On that, but I'm just you don't think, But is
that a fair analogy on why there was no question
about Kurt Warner?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Because I know all that, you know what I mean,
Kurt Warner?

Speaker 1 (08:24):
But then again, look, we gave up on him when
he went to the Giants and oh, you know, nobody
want to know is what I'm saying. Like there wasn't
this look prolonged? Oh, I don't know if Kurt Warner
is the real deal because because he won a Rookie
of the Year, he won an MVP, you know what,
and he won a super.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Bowl, it was immedia it was immediate success.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
But I would argue Rock Purty outside of the actual
last you know, seven eight minutes of the Super Bowl,
he's right on track with that.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I mean, he was an envy.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
But it's still about winning here though, right, And he
was until Baltimore showed up. And if you remember that
game on Christmas Night, brock Purty through four interceptions, was
it should have been six?

Speaker 2 (09:01):
They were like t D and that was the bad
game that was That was a game we lost t MVP.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Agreed, agreed, But I still I still like what I'm
getting out of him. Now I can officially say it's
been year in, year out, meaning it wasn't a flukey
six seven games. You know, two years ago it was
that little running had at the end when uh, when
your boy got hurt and Garoppolo. Then last full season,
you know, oh, shoot, he's really liked that.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Then this season he's playing well.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
He's in the top five and most passing categories again
with or without his team. So I just look at
it as again, everybody can't be Lamar Jackson as far
as just that, to my eyes, dynamic.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
He's throwing passes.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
A lot of guys can't throw, brock perty Is, he's
making plays, a lot of them can't.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Throw even with his feet. He's sneaky athletic.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Unfortunately, I saw that against my Lions in the NFC
Championship game, and again I have and it would not
surprise any of us if you had an NFC Championship
rematch against the Lions and then at that point, you know, made.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
The best man win.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
So I just think I'm looking at a guy who's
about to get They're gonna break the bead.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
They're gonna feel happy with giving the future.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Loud paid quarterback. Ever, who is anybody else up this year?
Because I mean, if there's one other guy up, you
know what I mean. I don't know if Josh Allen,
somebody else, not money, but he's gonna, yeah, he's gonna
be right there to.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Get a contract bigger than that. I don't know. I
don't know. He maybe gets fifty eight million, maybe it
gets better. My point is he'll be right there.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
So I don't know if he gets sixty and one
just to make it a petty thing, or if he
gets right there fifty eight instead of sixty, but he's
gonna be right there.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
I think it depends on what happens this year. I don't.
I don't. I do. I don't think that. I think
if if they to.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
What you say, yeahs franchise, this franchise is ready to win.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
They can't hold it together much longer. So I don't.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
I don't believe that if if they somehow flame out,
or we've seen them already a couple of games this
year where they gave up big leads in the second
half or whatever. They did go to Seattle and they
won last night. I'm just saying, you gotta take a
look at the entire team and where it is. At
some point. They had two holdouts this year. Do you
know things are starting not to be as rosy as

(11:07):
people want to start getting paid, They're not just want
to Oh, it's cool to be on the forty nine ers.
You know, like football has a shelf life, like a
card in the milk. You can't wait too long and
you can't pay everybody well, I'm paying him.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
That ain't a question. I've seen him.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
I've seen him play well without McCaffrey, without Debo, without
a kittle.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
I've seen what he can do. I'm sold. This is
my guy.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
And obviously it's my job is as John Lynch and
the GM and all the folks involved there to make
sure we still keep talent. Every team wants to keep
talent on the field, and it's my job as Kyle
shann and to keep trying to be innovative, not blow
games for him and start calling some bad plays. And
I think they got their guy for the next seven
to ten years. And I think if you're a forty
nine Ers fan, you should be fortunate because to me

(11:53):
last point, it's an upgrade between having Jared Golf, who's
playing really well with the Rams and went to a
Super Bowl, but then all of a sudden you get
Matthew Stafford. You're like, oh, there's the difference. Not that
Jared Golf was horrible or bad. He was solid, he
slid to really good. But you saw the difference with
Matthew Stafford, and that's the difference between him and Garoppolo.
To your point, Garoppolo let him and they were good
and they were solid and Groppolo played well. But you

(12:14):
see the difference with Rock Party, like, oh this he's
that next level up where icking.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Up been on.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
No matter what Brock Party did, what did what Jared
Golf did. He didn't win a super Bowl. He did
what Jared Golf did, and they and at some point
the Rams decided, remember they were in the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Like they were. But I say, you know he didn't
win a super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
What I'm saying you see that talent level where you
go all that, but that moved.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
On from Jared Golf. Is my point is that when
they went to that Super Bowl, they had the like
the fifth greatest offense in the history of the NFL.
They averaged thirty five points a game that year. If
you go back, Jared Golf wasn't all was but you.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
Saw them, you saw the limitations. And then you bring
in to Matthew Stafford, who's just now he's just and
again Jared Goff is really good. I love him for
a Lions, but I'm saying, you see everything I said, he.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Can't win the Super Bowl for the Lions that were
just saying, no, what's up with you today?

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Choun.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
So you're saying, let me saying, I absolutely can believe
I got him in the Super.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Bowl this year beating the Chiefs, but they got rid
of him.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
I'm saying, but yeah, if you're talking about the Rams yet,
because Matthew Stafford is just naturally tame more talented, that's
not even debatable. No one would argue that. Jared GoF
wouldn't argue that. So I'm saying Garoppolo wild quality. He
was really good for the for the forty nine ers.
You also see all brock perty is just and next thing, brock.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Perty's contract has a lot and is hinged on this
season on how and I'm not saying he's not going
to get paid on how much, and what the deal
is will be based on how well he performs and
how well the team performs. Because they could have signed him.
They don't have to wait because you know what.

Speaker 2 (13:51):
The price only goes out the way throws.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
No, they don't the way his structured deal because he
was where he was drafted. They gotta they can't do
it early to wait till the end of this season.
So it's coming. He's gonna and that's when he's gonna
get paid a whole lot of money. Don't even worry
about it. It'll happen, and he don't got to win
a Super Bowl. Rod Parker, that's crazy to think that.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
I just said. It depends on this season.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
And if they don't when they take a look at
the team and say we're gonna start losing people and
we didn't look to the NFL Championship game. I'm not
saying they are, but it depends on how much money
they're talking about. All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine
on Fox eight seven, seven nine nine six sixty three
sixty nine. You with Calvin, you've seen enough back up
the Brinks truck. I'm saying I haven't, and I need

(14:36):
to see the end of this season before I really
determine where he is and where he fits in.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
We want to hear from you. It is The Odd
Couple on a Funky.

Speaker 3 (14:43):

six percent off and free shipping. Rob and I are

(16:03):
talking about rock Party. I say, pay the man is money.
At the end of the year, he's the one, He's
the guy. What else do you want from him? He's
showing up no matter what, whether he has all his
best players or not. You say you want to wait
and see what happens later and that it would dictate
what they do, right, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
I just want to wait some time. I'm I'm not
rushing out, you know and saying that, oh yeah, I'm convinced.
I just think that there the jury is still out, and.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
That jury ain't out. They didn't deliberate it for thirty
five minutes.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
That the jury is still out on Rock Party. I'm
not saying that.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Whether he's to be a quarterback in the NFL, but
whether or not you're going to make him the highest
paid quarterback. I think the jury's out on that. I
think they want him back. But at what price is
the question. Caid and Reno, you're on the odd couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
What's Upcaid?

Speaker 4 (16:55):
What's no boy?

Speaker 5 (16:55):
Thank you for taking my call? Yes, sir, gotta storry
by saying an awesome edition of the show Man.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Appreciate you, Hey, appreciate your brother.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Hey, so Rob, I totally see your point. But the
problem is you don't have a quarterback. You don't have anything.
I'm not saying Rockberty is the best quarterback in the world.
But you lose Brock, you're starting some scratch and you
don't know what you're gonna have. You'd rather lose a
debo than your your number one quarterback. And at this rate,

(17:25):
the market dictates what they're getting paid. So if he
gets paid fifty five million, he might not be worth it,
but that's what he's gonna get.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
I understand that point.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
I do, because you're right in the NFL you have
to have a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
But I'm just saying if things.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Flame out and you look at your team and you're
gonna lose some other people, I'm not saying you don't
want them. I don't know if you want them for
more than what they just paid Dak Prescott, who hasn't
been able to perform. And I understand, I do. I'm
not teams are dying for quarterbacks. If you don't have
a quarterback, you're not in the mix.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Not only a quarterback, right, you actually have a guy
who's been a top three to four performing quarterback the
last two years. So I guess it's not as if
I'm like scratching my head about a middling guy like
I don't really want to pay.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
But there are.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
People who say, I get that, who say, well, you know,
is it him or is it just a.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
System that's been set up because.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
They've been winning for the last few years, no matter
who's been the quarterback. And then the argument is, if
they could win with Jimmy G and get to the
super Bowl with Jimmy G's not maybe as good as
Brock Purty, why does that mean that they couldn't get
to the super Bowl with some other quarterback if they
have all of those weapons and pieces in place a
win or not.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
I get that, But you're trying to win or not.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
If you've got a good, healthy relationship, this thing working,
I ain't breaking it.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
I get that, But.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I'm just saying I want to see how this season
plays out.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
If I'm the forty nine ers, that's all.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
And if he gets you to the super Bowl again
and you feel like, okay, even if you don't win,
but you get there again a second year in a
row with bron then you take a look and then
you'll be like, dude, the guy's done everything. If you
get knocked down the playoffs and he has a bad game,
and I'm not saying one game is going to determine
whether you sign him or not, but it might change
how you look at him, that's all.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
But my whole point is I'm sold.

Speaker 1 (19:15):
Like he doesn't unless he literally threw two interceptions for
every game for the rest of the season, I'm already sold.
I've seen enough for me. I have nothing else to
really worry about. I'm like, this is the guy, Sean King.
We can ask him the same question. Former NFL QB
with the King.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
Until I hear his answer, I'm just saying, yeah, oh,
you're down.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
All the temporary look at a friends you are, I'm
temporarily down. We'll get to him in just a bit,
but before we get to him.

Speaker 7 (19:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker week days at seven
pm Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
All Right, Sean King, former NFL QB, Fox Sports Radio
NFL analyst Real seaw Keg on Twitter, coming to he
Live from sorrreck dot Com.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Students, We are down with the king. What's there? What's up?

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Sean Friday?

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Before we get Friday, Brock Sean, who you got in
this Dodger Padres game?

Speaker 2 (20:11):
I know it's the second inning, but who you got?

Speaker 4 (20:13):
I'm with the whole.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Game, Alex, go ahead and hang up on him.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
There we go, all right, Well, look we got some
football for you.

Speaker 2 (20:26):
Having is the biggest.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Dodger guy, so uh well, just Higers first, dodge the
Dodgers second, as I live here and work with him.
But hey, Sean, we've been talking about this man. I say,
play Brock perty has done enough, whether it be the
half a season, then last season, the full season, and
what he's done now with or without all of his players,
his teammate, he has put up good numbers and looked
really good. I say it doesn't matter pretty much. He's

(20:49):
he's locked in for me. If I'm John Lynch and
the crew, I'm paying the man his money at the
end of the season. Rob says, no, it still depends
on the season.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
Where are you from saying how much he gets to
ends on where they are, Like, if they get to
another super Bowl, then that can answer a lot of
questions for you. But if they fall short and say
it doesn't play well, I don't think he gets sixty
million like that did.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
I can kind of agree with that, although it doesn't
seem to matter who the player is. Contract is negotiated.
Like each quarterback, Rob has gotten slightly more than the
guy that just signed a new deal.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
So not everybody, because there was a couple of guys
that didn't get the higher contract that got it, but
I can't remember there were a couple other people, But
I understand.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
But I'm saying, if Brock perty because.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
This is a team that's going to the super Bowl
without him, And all I'm saying to you, Sean, is
if say they fall short this year or he doesn't
play well in some big game or whatever, not that
he doesn't deserve a job or a contract. But I'm
just wondering, would they just automatically break the bank and say, oh, yeah,
we're gonna give you a dollar more than.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Dak I'm not convinced to that.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Yeah, but I mean, in reality, he's one of the
top twelve thirteen quarterbacks in the NFL right now. I mean,
you can't name thirteen guys better than Brock Perdy not
in my opinion, he's talented. He throws.

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Ray Jennings said that Daniel Jones was top ten. That's
all I know, man, That is ludicrits. Why is he
figured out Daniel Jones? Rob stopped doing that?

Speaker 4 (22:22):
No, don Jon, go ahead, Brock Perdy, Daniel Jones don't
even live in the same building. You know. Therdy not
get enough credit for. How will he's playing in spite
of all the injuries. I mean, they're down a bunch
of guys. They've had guys out, they haven't had continuity,
and I know they've had the whole group together for

(22:43):
a while, but I mean, no McCaffrey, probably no Mason now,
Kiddles missed a little time, Deebo's missed the game. I mean,
he's doing this now and it's not like their full strength.
He's a much better athlete than people giving credit for.
And listen, he's almost got bullet poof emotions. Like the
one thing I love about the kids who can't rattle him,
like kind of just if he makes a mistake, he

(23:05):
comes right back. And I think you're going to top
twelve thirteen guys in the league, and I think they're
gonna pay him like that.

Speaker 8 (23:12):
Well, let's go here, Sean speaking of Daniel Jones, and
these are just facts not feelings, Okay, because a lot
of people can't separate Patrick Mahome with the achievement.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
I'm believing that I was playing right now.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
But if I gave you these numbers two hundred and
sixty three yards, six touchdowns, six interceptions and a passer
rating of eighty eight point nine, am I talking about
Daniel Jones Or am I talking about Patrick Mahomes?

Speaker 4 (23:41):
Well? Can I give you some numbers?

Speaker 1 (23:42):
No?

Speaker 2 (23:43):
No, no, I want out answer my question first. No,
I want you to answer my question first. No question, No,
this is our show. Answer the question.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Listen, I know what your context you're putting it in.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
We're asking a question.

Speaker 4 (24:01):
Those are Patrick mahomes.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Numbers, Okay, Daniel Jones numbers two forty nine total yards,
six touchdowns, three interceptions, and an eighty.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Six point three passer rating.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
All I'm saying is, Daniel, you know, Patrick Mahomes is
turned into Daniel Jones with a great defense.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Man, I can't believe it.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
Double Kevin. I feel for you, but I'm gonna speak
out here because I don't I don't advocate bullying, and
Robin's trying to bully me right now. You want to
know the numbers, Hey, let's talk these numbers. Patrick Mahomes,
first of all, is undefeated. Let's talk that number.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
There you go. Is he undefeated on the team's undefeated?
Because now is he undefeated?

Speaker 3 (24:40):
Or is the team undefeated because Sam Donald?

Speaker 2 (24:42):
Is he undefeated? Or the Vikings undefeated?

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Now it's out with she Rice, also with Isaiah Pacheco.
Let me give you some numbers for Daniel Jones twenty
twenty the entire season leven touchdown passes twenty twenty one,
eleven games, ten touchdown pass twenty twenty two game, fifteen
touchdown passes. You can't look at him in a vacuum
and put his name in Patrick Mahomee's name in the
same preach.

Speaker 9 (25:07):
Yes you can, because we're talking about the here and now.
It ain't a lifetime achievement at ward stopping. We're not
saying that he's better than Patrick Mahomes or he's a
Hall of Famer. I'm asking you last year, Patrick Patrick
Mahomes had a bad year, and now he's followed for
a second year. I mean, the numbers are ridiculous there

(25:30):
thirtieth in the red zone, the Chiefs a thirtieth.

Speaker 2 (25:33):
I can't believe you're a championing for Daniel Jones. This
is good day. I never thought I would see.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
He's got six interceptions in five games.

Speaker 4 (25:40):
What you know, I know you're mostly like in a
very very fragile situation because the Tigers got a big game,
tom All.

Speaker 8 (25:49):
So no.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
Tiger hater too.

Speaker 4 (25:53):
So I'm like, you don't have like all of your
your wig one about you right now watching Mahos is
doing with m Kelsey's old now and he's basically in
a situation off the field. It's obviously impacting his ability
to be the elite player he was, and they have
nobody else to be anticipated having they picked up Juju

(26:14):
Smith Schuster, like because probably when Brown was out and
they got Kareem Hunt.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
What's the problem he has?

Speaker 3 (26:20):
He has weapons, Kareem Hunts badop a rob shot.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
All right, shot Sean, I apologize we had to interrupt
on Friday like this, Well.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
He has Kareem Hunt because Isaiah Pacheco and Claud's Edwin
the Layer are both not available, Like they're down to
their third string. Almost everything outside of Kelsey. So, I mean,
I don't even know why I'm arguing with you about.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
It, Like stop, Yeah, that's what look you feed. Look Sean,
don't fall for it.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Man.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
They're going crazy. They're already beating them up on Instagram
and Twitter. That's why he's showing the double down. So
let's switch. Let's switch. Sean King joining us right now.
It is the odd couple, Rod Parker and Kelvin Washington.
I wish I didn't have to say my name with
him right now because he talks it's crazy.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Now listen, Sean, I'm gonna switch gears to this.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
We have had a conversation about the Cowboys and the
Lions being a big game for one for the Lions
to say, hey, look, I know you guys are talking
about the Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
I know you're talking about the Ravens.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
I know you're talking about some other teams who maybe
aren't faring as well.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
What about us?

Speaker 1 (27:16):
We are the reigning We got to the NFC Championship
Game and within a few plays of getting into the
Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (27:21):
So if they win and look dominant, what does that
say about them?

Speaker 1 (27:24):
And on the other side, if the Cowboys were somehow able.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
To win and maybe are they writing their ship. What
do you look at and try to take from this game?

Speaker 4 (27:32):
To me, it's two different storylines. If you're a Cowboys fan,
you got to be extremely nervous that they're extended back Prescott,
like he's done nothing up to this point to look
like an elite player, and I know, to the Pittsburgh
to make him to win the game. But other than that,
I mean, he bad that's going on. On the other side,

(27:54):
Detroit really wants to make a stand. They got to
figure out how to play some better defense. Like it's
cute and everything the ball around, and it's tining to watch,
but the end of the day, you very rarely win
the championship if you're not good on defense. And that
secondary is not very good right now. So that's what
I'll be watching the narrative that I'll be looking at,
where the hell is that? Because somebody please find him.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
That's a good question.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
I mean, that team and thank god, you know, they
came up with the big They came up with the
big play to win the game against Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
But he had three interceptions. Dodgers just took the lead
one nothing.

Speaker 1 (28:28):
Man, that double play was huge. Because they would have
had a couple of runs there. Yeah was that k Yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:33):
That was yes, sir? All right? One nothing Dodgers in
the second inn it Uh yeah, the Cowboys and where
are they? What did you have.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
Them shown before the season started? Did you feel good
about them or where they were or not? Because they
didn't do anything in the off season. They brought back
Ezekiel Elliott. I mean they really didn't do anything.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
Yeah, and people don't talk about this, but losing Stefan
Gilmore to the opposite of it's significant because now have
some injuries. They can't cover anybody they have them in
Cincinnati has the most unathletic group of linebackers that I've
seen in the National Football League. No, I can't in space,
they can't cover the other team's tight end or running backs.

(29:15):
And offensively, I don't get why they're not playing Ezekiel Elliott.
He is by far, in my opinion, the best running
back they have on this roster, and then they played them.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
They're saving them for the playoffs. That's saving them.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
I saw that, like you gotta get the first Jerry,
tell me this. Why is McCarthy playing the fullback on
the third down? It makes no sense, Like why is
Deuce Vaughan on the team and then they throw forty
the ball. I don't want to mass his name. If
he's a kid from North Dakota State, I don't know
what that loop key. I think it's how you say
his name. So like they're doing some things offensively, they

(29:51):
really don't do enough in the passing game to design
place for Ceedee Lamb, Like there are large stretches of
the game where he doesn't have a target.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
One last thing, Lamar Jackson came up with a big
game against the bat. I mean, Joe Burrow had five touchdowns,
had a bad interception at the end, but there was
one play there where I really sean, you know what
play I'm talking about where he stiff arms the defender,
throws a back across his body the other way.

Speaker 2 (30:21):
What you're not supposed to do, throws a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
In the end zone. What did you think of his
performance and what he's done so far this season? Because
I really like the Ravens. I think they I know
they're three and two, but I like where.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
They are and where they're headed.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
Lamar Jackson is a guy that shoots six for twelve
from three but missus eight layups. He hit a yo
for three on that play he stiff farmed the guy
throw that bumping across his body as here likely. But
how many times with the clean pocket does he miss
the running back in the flat? Does he throw the

(30:57):
hits from inside so the guy can't pitch and run
it a crossing route is loaded as a catching it
fall down. I want to see Lamar get better and
doing the things necessary play elite offensive football on a
consistent basis. I know he has elite talent. I recognize
he's won two MVPs, but he hasn't gotten better at
the little things that go play in that position. And

(31:18):
that's what I want to see from him. Make your
lay up tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Yeah, you're right about that. He'll hit a three hundred
yard Uh.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
You know, uh, coury hit a logo three. But when
you really need a basket at the end, here we
make it.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Man, this is what is this?

Speaker 1 (31:32):
Fucky flashbacks, Toddy or hate on everybody Friday. I don't
know what's going on with you, my guys. Sean Kate,
we appreciate you. Sean, do me a fact, brother, you
keep me in your prayers. You see what I'm dealing
with all right, Sean. Go there you go, just when
I'm riding with him. Never mind, shant I get off
the phone, Sean. We don't want to talk to him

(31:54):
anymore like that. Man, it is one nothing dodgers up.
Will continue to keep you updated on that.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Hey, Rob, they.

Speaker 1 (31:59):
Need to make a big rule change in the NFL.
We'll tell you what that is. It's the Odd Couple,

don't got to you know whatever you were talking about
on a get Freaky Detroit Friday.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
I don't know what's going on with you today.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
You've been acting up just a little bit Man coming

(33:00):
see today's show. Post it right after we get off
the air. I got to send a big shout out
to my guy Vern, my boy Vern, he's a big
time listener of the show Man. He called me earlier.
Robin told us we've been doing our thing. He's been killed.
He said, I didn't never think I would like Rob Parker,
but now I like him. So I don't know if Mom,
he just like I don't know if he just likes
you now because you're with your boy.

Speaker 2 (33:19):
But it sounds like my ex father in law. I'm
just saying, that's why it's X. That's all right, all right.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
I want to throw this, this this story at you
about the idea of college football players. You know how
they have to wait a few seasons before they can
go to the NFL. And they're starting to be a
conversation of hey, maybe that's not necessarily what's best and
if a kid is ready to go after a freshman year,
he should be ready. And it starts because you got
the big game going on, Ohio State taking on Oregon

(33:46):
the first time they'll both be in the Big Ten,
and Ohio State receiver. They've got this stud receiver named
Jeremiah Smith.

Speaker 2 (33:53):
And he's absurd man, one.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Of those one of those ones where you go, Okay,
he's insane, and he's already looking like he's gonna break
all of Chris Carter's freshman records.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
Uh, he's huge, he's a physical specimen.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
So the conversation starts to become with he and some
other like, well, why do they have to wait? Why
can't he go after this year if he's ready, and
if a team is willing to give up their first
round pick for him, second round pick, whatever whatever it
would be, why does he have to wait? Why the
NBA has a one and done tennis. You can be
in high school, you can be in high school for MLB,
so on and so forth. Why they act the NFL

(34:25):
and obviously it would be a rare case. Was because
you want them to grow physically as best they can.
But hey, if a team wants to do it, I
ain't got a problem with it. That's your pick. Nobody's
forcing you to pick him or anybody else. So I
don't see what it is. They get nil money.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Now it's called collusion, is called uh uh, it's called
us enough work collusion, but it's called organized crime whatever
you want.

Speaker 2 (34:50):
A racketeer as a term racketeering.

Speaker 3 (34:53):
Because the NFL and college football is in kahoots.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
There's no law or reason.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
If you can go into the mill terry and fight
a war, there's no reason that you can't play football.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
And this whole idea, well, you got to develop their
body and they can't play football.

Speaker 3 (35:08):
People get hurt whor fully developed every day, so that's
not going to stop you from getting hurt. And number two,
nowhere else in the world do you stop a prodigy. Okay,
so if a kid is smart enough they graduate college
at fourteen, you know why, because they're a genius. Or
if you're a pianist and you go playing Carnegie Hall

(35:29):
at eleven. Right, nobody stops a prodigy except college football
and college basketball, tennis, fourteen baseball, everywhere else. That's because
these guys are in kahoots. There's no reason why that
a guy has to play three years of college.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
Football if he's a prodigy. And I as a team, am.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
Ready to use my first round pick on somebody, that's
on me.

Speaker 2 (35:57):
If it doesn't work out, that's on me. Is that
matter where it could?

Speaker 1 (36:01):
This is one time maybe in the odd couple this
this rendition. Brother, I tell you we are an exact
same ideology on this.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
Man, I don't understand it.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
It doesn't make sense if you're telling me now especially hey,
you're old enough, wise enough to get a million dollars
before you ever even touch a college football because of nil,
If you're telling me that they can go out there
and get this money that they can do already play
the game, which is pretty much become professional, then they
should be able to go be professionals. And as you mentioned,
it happens in no other place. And you know, I listen.

(36:33):
I try to look from fourteen god with soccer players
around the world. Soccer plays, so it makes no sense.
And again, this is something that's gonna happen rarely, right
because most of you, if you're an offensive lineman, you
definitely got to get bigger game weight and all that.
But if there's a stud Leonard Fournette, Adrian Peterson, this
kid Jeremiah Smith, if it was Marvin Harris junior, there's

(36:54):
some guys who you just go, man, he can get
into the NFL right now, And to me, it makes
no sense for them not to be able to especially
considering no one's forcing them to draft them. It's not
you didn't work out. Guys like five years don't work out.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
And if if you don't want to draft them, don't
draft them.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
I mean you.

Speaker 1 (37:15):
You try not to find you try not to become
conspiracy theorists. You know, there's some thoughts of like, why
is it the predominantly black sports where these young guys
can't get paid early? As you mentioned, is there are
they looking at college.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Farms and you're and I'll agree with that, But here's
the other part that these guys, the NBA and NFL
players have sold out their brotherren because they signed They're
the ones who signed these cbas that are anti.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
The college player. And that's the shame of it.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
You hear me, The NBA players signed off on that
you had to go to college for one year before
you could come into the league. Who would do that
to stop people from making money?

Speaker 2 (37:56):
That's that's the shame of it. What is six months? Right?
I can even you're gonna do that? Fine? Two years?
What six month? One year?

Speaker 4 (38:03):
Like?

Speaker 1 (38:03):
It makes no sense and you should and there's no
other that's so actually unamerican, right America? You got look,
you know what, my kids watch this little kid named Ryan.
It's a little kid who is on YouTube opening gifts
some years back and making thirty million dollars a year
when he was eight years old. You hear what I
just said to you, absolutely ridiculous. We got somebody who

(38:23):
wants that old thing back in the NFL. He's flirting.
We'll tell you who. I had a couple. Rod Parker
