Speaker 2 (00:26):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, our number two of
the Odd Couple, Rob Parker Chris Bussard.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yes, we're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com
studios tierrach dot Com. We'll help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free roadhazard protection, and over
ten thousand recommended installers. That's right, tire rack dot Com,
the way tire buying should be. And what a big

(01:00):
hour we have ahead of you. Shop talks coming up
in about forty five minutes. But first we have the coach,
Charlie Weiss, the four time Super Bowl champion coach, joining
us here on the I Couple. Charlie, what's happening.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I'm doing great? Did you know that the owners of
the tire Racker from South Bend, Indiana?

Speaker 5 (01:24):
Is that right? South Been, Indiana?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Wow, they're one of the biggest owners to most of
the charities in South Bend, and also Saint Joe High School,
where my kid went to. The owners are just absolutely
wonderful people.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Hey, Charlie, we're gonna talk NFL, but let's just start
there real quick. They lost to Northern Illinois. People can't
be too happy there in South Bend.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yeah, well, you know I lost games that people weren't too.

Speaker 6 (01:57):
Happy about too, right.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
I think what magnified this. You know, they go to
Texas A and M and beat Texas A and M,
who I don't think is any good anyway, but they did.
They beat him on the road, a ranked team. So
you have to remember that college kids are still college kids.
They're eighteen to twenty three year old young men and

(02:23):
very impressionable. And what ends up happenings You start reading
your press clippings and you're ranked fifty in the country,
and you got an easy schedule, and you're going to
be playing playing in the college football Playoff, and then
you don't show up.

Speaker 5 (02:37):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
And they didn't just lose. They got physically dominated in
the game. The score doesn't indicate how much of a
physical domination the game was.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Charlie, Chris Bruce are here. Great to have you on
the show. You obviously coached at the collegiate level and
you know what it's like. So how different and to
be honest, even exasperating is it for coaches now that
there's the nil and the portal and it kind of

(03:10):
like free agency in college football today? You've seen Nick
Saban and some other step step away. How tough is
that for kind of a guy who's coached so long
before the portal became such a big deal.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Well, I think that that's the reason why Nick Saban
is not coaching anymore. That nothing more needs to be
said than that. But I'm gonna give you the flip
side of that now. I mean, my kidsy up as
a coordinator at Old Miss. He's working with Lane Kiffins.
Lane Kippen's got it going on at Old Miss. If
I would have told you five years ago that Old

(03:48):
Misses right would be ranked fifth of the country and
have a chance to win it all, you would have
told me, I'm a hallucinated.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Right right, Give me some of those mushrooms.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
But see, some guys have evolved in this game and
know how to play the game. And it actually is
a great equalizer because you know, let's face it. I mean,
do you think Ole mess is going to go head
to head with Alabama for high school kids? Still win
some of them, but you know, but Alabama's going to

(04:24):
in Alabama and Georgia and a couple of those blue
blood teams are going to get more of those guys
than anyone.

Speaker 7 (04:29):
Else right now.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Well now with the nil they can get for five
star guys that have already played in college coming from
other schools, that you already have evidence whether they could
play or not play. It's not like a high school
kid that comes out that you have ranked and all
of a sudden they spit the bit and they're not
with the crap. I mean, you know what you're getting
locking in the door. So I think that there's a

(04:53):
lot of teams that a lot of teams that, if
you know how to play the game, okay, is a
great equalize.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Four time Super Bowl champion coach Charlie weis joining us
here on the I couple rock Park on Chris Bussard. Charlie,
let me guess, let's do some NFL Daniel Jones with
the Giants.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
And you know, people in New York are up in arms.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
He's now since signing that big contract with the Giants
has more pick sixes than touchdowns. How bad is it
for Daniel Jones and the Giants?

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Well, the worst part about it is you're going against
a team where Sam Donald was starting at quarterback. And
you know, we want to talk about Daniel Jones. Sam
Donald completed about his first hundred passes in a row.
So it wasn't just Daniel Jones. I mean the oppositive

(05:50):
line has been a suspect. I mean they went and
they went and drafted a fine, you know, a fine
star wide receiver. But I think there's a lot of
heat on Daniel. And you know how it is, when
you win, the head coach and a quarterback get to
get up way more credit than they when you lose.

(06:14):
When you lose, those same two people, the head coach
and a quarterback are right where those errors are going
to be pointed to. Ay, So I think that what's
happened is early in the year, just the heat is
got turned way up, you know, way up right off
the bat. And that's never a good thing, that when

(06:36):
the heat gets hot early.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
But but but Charlie, let me just say, like like
when they picked him over sa Kuan right, they wanted
to pay the quarterback, not to running back.

Speaker 5 (06:47):
Chris and I.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
We were like, I don't know what they're watching seriously,
and I'm just being honest. I'm not trying to trash
the kid. It's how good is Daniel Jones as a quarterback.
I don't believe he's that good. I was shot that
they gave him the contract that they gave them.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Well, he might not be that good, but let's I'm
just being objective. I'm gonna I'm going to glass half
full here. Okay, his rookie year when he was playing.
At the end of the year, everyone to watched him says,
this guy's got a chance.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
That was one of his best years.

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, the same thing with Mac Jones. Remember Mac Jones'
right year. Everyone says, this guy's got a chance. And
you know, he's making forty million a year, which you
know we figures on godly, but look at the money
that these quarterbacks are making now, you know, it's almost
like you're making medium money when you're making forty million

(07:42):
dollars a year.

Speaker 5 (07:43):
I mean, I.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Don't think I don't think he should throw the towel
and on him yet, but I think it's getting close,
you know, because you know, they got some winnable games
early in the year. Minnesota was one of them.

Speaker 8 (07:56):
Though.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
Now they're going to Washington this week. This week, a
team that they only beat. They go up and don't
play very well against Washington. You know, it's the pressure
is gonna that pressure is gonna go up even more.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Charlie, we saw a great opening game season opening game
between Kansas City and Baltimore. Of course, Baltimore got Dereck
Henry this year, only ran him thirteen times. He didn't
have much of an impact on the game besides his
first touchdown. They clearly seem to have struggled, and I
think maybe still are struggling to figure out how to maximize.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Both him and Lamar together.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
What do you think is the best way for them
to play with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Well, I think Lamar Lamar and that offense is killor
me for how they're playing in Baltimore. And I think
that Derrick Henry has still got guests left in this tank.
And I think that when you look at Baltimore and
you think, now, are you going to stop the running back?
Are you going to stop the quarterback. You know which

(09:07):
which one comes first? Right, Well, there's only one of
those two guys that I just mentioned as the ball
in his hands on every play. So uh, I think
that let's not let's not worry about whether or not
they're going to involve Derrick Henry in his offense and
once Derek. Derrick Henry has notoriously all the way from

(09:28):
when he was back at Alabama, Okay, has gotten better game,
the more carc yes, and he's had a lot of
mediocre first half in great second halfs. And I think
you're going to see more of the same with Derrick
Henry and Lamar Jackson. I think they're going to be
a run play action team. You know, they'll throw, they'll throw,

(09:51):
they'll throw a drop back past when they have to,
but there'll be a run play action team. And I
think Baltimore is clearly going to be one of the
best teams in a league.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
All Right.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
That's four time Super Bowl champion Charlie Weiss.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
Charlie, thank you for joining us.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
You got it should be an interesting one tonight. I'm
really interested in watching this one, no doubt.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Yeah, no question about it, no question about it. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
That's Charlie Weiss, four time Super Bowl champion, speaking of
Lamar Jackson Davante Adams.

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Hi praise, but was it too high? We'll get into that.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
All right, Rob.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
As I said earlier, Devonte Adams receiver for the Las
Vegas Raiders, Uh, really was great with the packers now
didn't really have anybody to throw him the ball. He
had some high praise for Lamar Jackson, the great Lamar Jackson,
two time MVP.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
Here's what he.

Speaker 11 (12:11):
Said, Area that I really wanted to focus on and
pushing and make better. And I was literally finding myself
watching Lamar Jackson highlights, like in my locker before the games,
like dude, change the game. He's the best, in my opinion,
best ball carrier ever. You know, no matter what position

(12:31):
you want to talk about, I don't think anybody's as
big of a threat to carry the football.

Speaker 5 (12:37):
Chris. This is the year we live in.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Anything that happened yesterday is bigger and better than anything
that's ever happened.

Speaker 5 (12:43):
I love Lamar, you know, I do. I do the
best ball carrier ever. Come on, stop it. That's loot.
That's just ridiculous. I mean, it's been some great.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
Jim Brown, Chris, Mary Sanders, Emmett Smith, I mean, can.

Speaker 5 (13:00):
We I'm Walter Payton, the great running backs? Come on, man, I.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Mean you can go how many deep dozens? I mean
and nothing? And you know I love Lamar too.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
He runner.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
He is the best running quarterback ever. To say he's
the greatest ball carrier is lunacy.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
It's just lunasy. This this is what we talk about
all the time. Chris. It's just like.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
I don't even get it, Like is it just because
and and and and I'm I'm not buying into this. Well,
they didn't see Jim Brown.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
Stop. We talk about it all the time, Chris. Did
we see Babe Ruth? Right? Stop? Obviously you don't even
have to go back to Jim Brown. I'm just say this.
I'm just saying, you know what I mean, You don't
have to do your research.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
But it's just disrespectful to the running backs. Now Luball again,
greatest running quarterback ever, one of the most dangerous weapons
during the regular season for sure that we've ever seen.
But put him at tail back full time. I don't
think this would be the case. I'm sorry, I don't

(14:16):
think this would be the case. He's not a better
runner than Derrick Henry, his teammate.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
You can't. It's just so.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
It's like taking a cornerback who return is greater returning
kick or interceptions for touchdowns and saying he could he's
probably the best.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
Best pass catcher ever.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
It just and and with all due respect for DeVante,
I don't know him at all, but it seems like
a great guy and I respect him for just being
professional there in Vegas and all that, this makes him
look bad. I don't know who would sign off on this,
Rob Who would say this? I mean, I wouldn't have

(15:02):
thought anybody would say it, but but this just makes
you look bad.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
What was this on a podcast?

Speaker 12 (15:08):
Rob? G?

Speaker 5 (15:08):
What was this on this was news com? Wow? Did
you hear the next question after that?

Speaker 3 (15:15):
You know, I'm always just curious, Chris that being said
in the room, and then nobody flinched, thought thought.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
Oh that's interesting.

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, I mean, wow, right at the very let wait,
what what did you so? Lamar Jackson is a better
ball card than Eric Dickerson, Harry Sanders.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
That's what I would have asked Walter Payton.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
I mean, but we can just and again you can
just talk about some of the guys today. It just
it's bizarre. I mean, it has been some crazy takes.
You know what people talk about the report week with

(15:55):
the Parker pushback.

Speaker 5 (15:57):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
I mean, we've heard that Joe Burt, these are from players, right,
He's a guy who isn't that good? Lamar Jackson is
the best runner ever, and I mean I love him.
I love all all these guys are you know, we
know James James, great guy, loves he can have his

(16:21):
opinion and this we love this guy. My man Greg
Jenny's on this week with us on first thing. You
know Daniel Jones top ten quarterback?

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Do we do?

Speaker 3 (16:30):
We jumped on him, Chris, he's our friend. We're like, no, no, Greg, no,
what do y'all do when you play with Aaron Rodgers
and you're looking at that guy saying he's the top
tenen quarterback? Everybody Daniel Jones, Aaron Rodgers say.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
Right right right?

Speaker 9 (16:50):
No?

Speaker 1 (16:50):
But and Rob and I'm not saying this is the
case with any of these guys, but Rob, we've talked
about it before you and I, like, I've talked to
several NBA players when I was covering the league and
stuff about and a lot of they did not follow.
Not all because some like Lebron's a student of the game.
They're a lot that are actual students of the game.

(17:11):
There's also a fair number that didn't watch games like
those of us who weren't those great athletes did right
like they they were out playing, you know, and all that,
and they don't. Some of them don't know the history
of the game the way sports writers do. And these

(17:34):
are some, I mean, this is a clear example of that.
I we're gonna open this up to callers. I will
be shocked if any caller is not as dumbfounded as
we are by this.

Speaker 12 (17:52):
No.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
I love to hear that as well, because it's some
of the takes are just so off the wall and
just I don't know, if that thought out. You could
say Chris he's one of the most dynamic runners that
we've seen or whatever. There's a lot of ways you
could talk about his ability and what he does, and
I have nothing but respect for it, you know what

(18:14):
I mean, and his ability, But really.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Rob g you're in this new generation where you know,
whatever happened yesterday is the greatest.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
You know, screw the nineties, You're in all that. So
what do you think it is?

Speaker 8 (18:29):
Well, yeah, before we get to the Davontae Ac, I
know we can take calls on it, just to illustrate
your point, because you guys are saying a lot of
these guys who are what they saw last is the
best thing they've ever seen, and YadA, YadA, YadA. I
don't know if you guys saw it this week because
it's the football season and we're dominated by the NFL.
Trey Young was asked the name is all time starting

(18:50):
five on a podcast this week. He chose himself as
the point guard, which say, what you want, that's fine whatever.
It's his team, Kobe kd lebron Shack. His sixth man
was Michael Jordan. Oh god, he would.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
Have been better off leaving Jordan off.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
We would have been like, you know, look, I honest,
I mean him being on there is ridiculous, but hey,
if he you know, that's him as his team.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
Fine.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
The other guys I would have just been like, Okay,
this is who we've seen.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
But to throw Jordan on there to acknowledge it. Every
single one of those dudes like what that. Come on?

Speaker 1 (19:30):
I mean again, I could live with that team and
just be like, Okay, that's his era, but come.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
On, man.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
And that's the thing that's interesting because Davante Adams, going
back to this original conversation, we've heard it. He doesn't
talk a lot, but when he does, he's always very insightful.
He's very in tune with what's going on, either with
himself or the team that he's playing for. And this
goes back for years. This is not a new thing
with DeVante. That's why when he does speak, people listen,
because he rarely speaks well.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
It would have been nice, like Rob always says, to
get some have him expound.

Speaker 8 (20:03):
Shut and so for him to say this knowing because
he is a student of the game. And just as
you guys mentioned, if you're even just county current players,
not even talking historically, as great as Lamar Jackson is,
you know, he's one hundred and ninety pounds.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
And you mentioned derrek Kenby what Derek Henry's done in
his career, right, does that nothing?

Speaker 5 (20:27):
He's done? Nothing to Lambar do?

Speaker 1 (20:30):
Could Lamar do what Josh Jacobs says, I mean he
going through the holes every game like that.

Speaker 8 (20:35):
You gave twenty carries a game? How long does he
last season?

Speaker 5 (20:40):
No? And we like Lamar, it's just right.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
We even some of Lamar's the biggest supporters in the
you know, as far as pub name in his game
and all that.

Speaker 5 (20:49):
But come on, come on, Davante, you're better than that.
All right.

Speaker 1 (20:54):
We're gonna throw it out to you guys, eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox. Particularly if you think Devinte
Adams is right, I mean, call in all of you.
But you know, Rober, if we got somebody that actually
he's like, nah nah nah, Davante's right, y'all tripping, we
want to hear from them, and we want to hear why.
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Call us up,

(21:15):

way in on Davonte Adams claim that Lamar Jackson is
the greatest ball carrier.

Speaker 5 (21:41):
Ever, including running backs. Of course, your thoughts.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
All right, let's see, let's Kyle and Tacoma. We'll start there.
Kyle and Tacoma. You're in the odd couple. Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 12 (21:55):
What's up, buddy, Oh man, I'm doing well. I hope
y'all are doing good. First things, First, Chris, congratulations on
your your future endeavors. He's great. On Firstie's First, I
want to put this place. You know this, this show
has got me, been with me through my first kid,
I beat cancer two years ago, you know, on some

(22:15):
stuff and finding God after that, you know, and he
guys have been there the whole time. So I just
want to give you guys a shout out while I
got you here. Best show on radio. And now let's
get back to the fact.

Speaker 5 (22:29):
That that means a lot. That does for real, no doubt, thank.

Speaker 12 (22:32):
You on everything I mean that. Uh now, you're not
gonna find nobody calling that was gonna agree with Davonte.

Speaker 7 (22:40):
If you do, that's cool.

Speaker 12 (22:41):
You know they're they're trying to be like Davonte, just
trying to go viral or something. Lamar is probably Lamar
is probably one of the best quarterback. You know, ball carriers,
Cam Vig, they were nasty too, Let's be honest. But
you know he he could, he could already have the
spot for the quarterbacks. But all time, no way, I mean,
I'm from Tacoma.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
He's not even.

Speaker 12 (23:02):
Close to my boy Marshawn.

Speaker 1 (23:04):
Come on now, no, I mean real talk, real talk right,
real talk right, just as a ball carry.

Speaker 5 (23:10):
No, you're definitely going with my Sean.

Speaker 4 (23:12):
Lynch all day, right, you know.

Speaker 12 (23:14):
So that's my piece. You guys have a great rest
of night. Thanks again for everything and best love to
you and thanks for everything you've put out on this show.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Thank you, Thank you, brother. Continued good health and happiness
with your family. Yeah, let's go with Eric in Austin,
Texas because he thinks that dvantage Ryder think right.

Speaker 6 (23:35):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (23:36):
Eric's Chris? How you gonna do it?

Speaker 5 (23:38):
Good? Good man? What's happening?

Speaker 7 (23:41):
I'm good, y'all friend.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
I gotta say, Chris Day the last of talent for Thursday.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
I hope you and.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
I gotta win.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
I gotta win. I want to hear it. Thank you, brother,
and I gotta win. But I really want to hear him. Yeah,
let's call back something because your is a bad connection. Okay,
but I do want to hear from somebody that thinks
Divonte is on the.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
Same Marty, Marty and Kentucky thinks said Davante's on. He
sees this point Yep, Marty, let's hear this. Uh, you're
in the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Martyn?

Speaker 6 (24:16):
Me crazy?

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Uh, it's what River? Hey, I'm glad you got in.
I was wondering this River gonna call in before I
go Yu.

Speaker 7 (24:28):
Yeah, we got him.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
Man, nice man, Thank you, Marty. That's great to hear
from River.

Speaker 7 (24:35):
What's going on with you?

Speaker 8 (24:37):
Well?

Speaker 6 (24:37):
I just became an uncle today.

Speaker 7 (24:39):
Oh yeah?

Speaker 5 (24:39):
Oh wow? Is that right?

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Ratulations, and I hear the growth. Let me you sound
older than you know what I mean? Like you can
downold on you now.

Speaker 5 (24:47):
River.

Speaker 7 (24:49):
He turned in on Sunday. His oldest sister, I turned
twenty four on Saturday. His second oldest sister turned twenty
two on the fourth. Wow, and then and then she
had a baby today.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
Congrat and your grandpapa. Hey, Hey, real quick, Marty. Though
we got River from the original. Let's se let's hear this.

Speaker 7 (25:22):
Yeah, that's a big thing. That Yeah, I'm glad it
ain't that high pitch anymore.

Speaker 5 (25:28):
That's all right, awesome boy, Yeah man, goodk you for
putting more Marty for sure.

Speaker 7 (25:36):
Yeah, we're watching the game hyped up and then star
as Devontae Adams goes. I respect his opinion that I
respect him so much as a player because he is.
He's got so much talent, and he's one of those
guys he just when he plays and you throw a
bad ball to him, that dude will lay out. He'll

(25:57):
turn into it DC and lay out to make sure
that don't get picked. And he has Aaron Rodgers and
those pick numbers all those years, and that's why I
love him so much. He plays to win. Now, he
might have overhyped his a little bit, But my issue,
I mean, I think he's got some points because he
is a great runner. But my issue is when you

(26:18):
play for another team and you have your own quarterback
room and you're hyping up this guy in that level,
it maybe isn't the best idea. But maybe he's trying
a lot of fire under her. But I don't know,
but having a girlfriend a girlfriend talk about how hot
somebody else is, right, But I think here's the This
is what saves him.

Speaker 5 (26:38):
I mean, he we think he's crazy for.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
That take, but what saves him is that he said runner, yeah,
when I know it's like he's not. I mean, even,
let's keep it real, even if he said Lebar Jackson
is the best quarterback in the league. I mean, how
can Aiden O'Connor or Gardner miss?

Speaker 5 (26:55):
You get mad?

Speaker 8 (26:55):
Right?

Speaker 4 (26:56):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (26:56):
Yeah? When I when I call guys, I misunderstood. I
had a little breakup in my signal and I didn't
pitch to keep the saying that he was the best
runner period.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
Yeah, that was that issue, Marty.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Yeah, that's why I was shocked.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
I was like, Marty's agreeing with this.

Speaker 7 (27:11):
No, I'm not agreeing with that, remarked on or Jim Brown,
and I got.

Speaker 3 (27:17):
Right, that's our issue. All right, Thanks Marty Man call tomorrow.

Speaker 5 (27:22):
All right, Marty.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
See, we got Jerry in Seattle. You're on the couple
of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
What's up, Jerry?

Speaker 7 (27:29):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (27:29):
Not much.

Speaker 13 (27:30):
I was going, guys, doing good?

Speaker 5 (27:31):
How are you?

Speaker 4 (27:33):
Hey?

Speaker 13 (27:33):
Great? And Chris you know, I know you've heard a
lot of this, but man, you are best some of
the best. Thirty minutes driving home every day and really
going to miss you on the show, Bud.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
Thank you, man, I really appreciate it. You can't hear
it enough. I gotta be honest.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
No, no, no, it means that we no, it means
you put in work over these six shimes.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
It's nice.

Speaker 13 (27:53):
You're not chop delivery either, brother.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
No, no, no, And you know what, you know, give
the new show a chance on Monday, Elvin starts and
the couple.

Speaker 5 (28:02):
We're going to keep the tradition and keep this show together.

Speaker 13 (28:05):
Absolutely. But hey, so yeah, obviously, Earl Campbell, Jim Brown,
oh Jackson, you know, uh, but then't even talking about
flight fellas you know, Gail Sayers is before our time.
But you know that guy, you know studio, I've seen him.

Speaker 8 (28:20):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
There's so many great running backs, and it's even once
they weren't great.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
I mean, let's just keep it real, you know it
just no, it's just it's just this.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
I mean again, and I don't know that I'm not
saying DeVante minute this or Deonta DeVante minute this way,
but it is disrespectful to the running backs in the league.

Speaker 13 (28:40):
Yeah, yeah, hey, and Chris. One other thing, man, I
just want to tell you how I've always appreciated his love.

Speaker 6 (28:45):
You give a.

Speaker 13 (28:46):
Chem Olajuan, you know, and this off topic, but that's
my guy. And I just you know, few people you
know talk about how great he is, you know that
to digress, But the Ant Edwards thing a couple of
weeks ago, I was like.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Yeah, you know, that's kind of what we're talking about.

Speaker 5 (29:05):
Another example, that's what we're talking about.

Speaker 13 (29:07):
The skyhook man, I mean whatever, you know. I mean, like, really,
Tim Duncan isn't isn't at thirty and twelve at the
third quarter in every game if he would, you know,
play not Tim Duncan, but the Admiral rather.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
You know, the skills those guys, yeah, particularly Elijah Wyn.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
The footworks, Jerry, the moves, those the skills, no doubt. Tim,
Chili Tim in Atlanta, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
What's up, Chili, Tim?

Speaker 8 (29:32):
Yo?

Speaker 6 (29:32):
Whatever? Fellas, whatever, what's up? I don't know if I'll
get you tomorrow, man, But you know you all we've
always there, brother, We always that.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
Thank you, bro, thank you.

Speaker 6 (29:42):
But yeah, I was just gonna mention, like Bo Jackson,
Edrin James, I mean just even from the last generation
of Hall of fame running backs. You know that had quitness.
I mean, have you ever seen bo Jackson run over
people and mo down people with the speed and size
that he has. I mean he played center fa in
their field and Major League Baseball. I mean about it.

(30:03):
You know, the kind of speed you have to have
the track down ball. So yeah, Di, I mean, is
he looking to play with Jamar Jackson or something? I mean, look,
that was like, is he trying to get on with Baltimore?
Is he looking for a trade or I don't get it,
but glad these young guys there and trade young man.

(30:23):
They need to check him for drudge man. I mean,
come on that. These young guys, they just they don't
study the game. They do only you know, only go
for what they can see as far as what they think.
They not for what they're on the internet, I mean
with YouTube and stuff. Now, if you don't know, go
back and look, right, there's no excuse not to go
back and see these games.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
There are a lot of great people in our in
our uh and you know, in the history of mankind.
We don't have to have been there to acknowledge how
great they were. Stop whenever I hear that, I think
it's ridiculous. Oh, I don't know what kind of guy
Martin Luther King was. I will deal right, like that's
what they're saying.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Chris, right right, I bet Rob, And you know, obviously
we're pushing him back. But if he starts, if Divinte
gets a whole lot of pushback, I bet he will
retract it, you know, like we've seen so many other Yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:19):
Yeah, and he.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
May be sincere, like you know, I was just I
just kind of wasn't thinking really about running backs, you know,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (31:26):
And and maybe that beat will be true.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
But yeah, I'd be shocked if he stood on his
square ten toes down. If he really gets pushed back
on this, I just don't see how you can. All right,
shop talk is next. Rob Parker has had to be
Rob's idea.

Speaker 5 (31:46):
What are you talking about? It's Newsy, It's news.

Speaker 1 (31:49):

Speaker 12 (32:45):
You know that.

Speaker 5 (32:46):
Ain't nobody you talk about whoever, whatever, whatever you want
you in the box.

Speaker 9 (32:51):
Wait, you know it's shop talking.

Speaker 5 (32:53):
That's right, it is shop talk.

Speaker 8 (32:54):
Here on the I Cup of Fox Sports Rino Sigma,
we go and discuss something that but outside of the
world is sports. And two would just through another interception.
That's two in the first quarter for the first quarterback.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
But you seven seven just for love it is that
two interception was a tip, Chris.

Speaker 5 (33:11):
It hit the Guy's an interception.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
Not now it's always been it's two interceptions in the
first quarter.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Yeah, but the first one was hit the guy and
bounced off two interceptions. That's a bad one, right, So
this will get spicy. I don't care for next to last.
I'll spice it up with you. So it's about to
get spicy.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
This weekly shop talk.

Speaker 8 (33:35):
It comes to us actually from the world a sports
friend of the show, friend of your guys is on
a personal level, Shannon Sharp, you all know by now
at a very viral moment where he went on accidentally
Instagram Live and there was audio of him, you know,
in intercourse with a woman take off your uniform now
credit to Shannon. He said in the statement last night

(33:57):
that he was not hacked, that it was him on
the video. He took full ownership of it, and he
seemed very contrite in his apology. The reason I'm asking
you guys this question is he had the apology and
that's great, But all throughout the day the thing was
more of a joke than like in any kind of
People weren't condemning him. People were kind of poking fun

(34:18):
at it. In fact, so much so ESPN has told
TMZ Sports he will not be facing any kind of
management whatsoever from their network.

Speaker 5 (34:26):
So Rob, here's the question.

Speaker 8 (34:27):
Does the fact that it's just the audio and not
the video make any kind of difference here for Shannon Sharp.

Speaker 5 (34:34):
No doubt about it. That's the difference between it.

Speaker 3 (34:37):
I think if you remember the Paul Pierce stuff was
video where we see the woman towerking in front of us,
and people smoking weed on camera and whatnot.

Speaker 5 (34:47):
Chris, this was where you could buy the argument.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
If he had set this up and we saw like
a camera image of him, I think it would be
totally different from what he said happened, which is somehow
it turned on. It wasn't focused in on him, and
we just heard what was going on, And I'm chore.
He's embarrassed only from that. He's a single guy, not married.

(35:11):
He won't do anything you know, against the law or
anything like that. But it's embarrassing as a professional guy
who has always tried to maintain, you know, a certain
level of professionalism. Chris, that's that's all. He must be,
just embarrassed that it happened.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Well, I definitely think it makes a difference. I mean, right,
it just does because now you don't have the visuals,
and you know when you have, if you had the
visuals at least initially when you saw Shannon Sharp, that's
what people would.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Be thinking about.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
And they still may be thinking about the audio a
lot the first few times you see him back on
the air, But that's different than having visualization of that
now the question, Rob, I mean, it's just a different day,
and like you said, he wasn't breaking the law or anything.

Speaker 5 (36:01):
I wonder even if there was video.

Speaker 1 (36:05):
Now, if like you said, if it's a camera set
up and he's purposely you know, that's it, You're gone.
If it somehow was accidental, or maybe a woman filmed
him without.

Speaker 5 (36:18):
Him knowing, you know, something like that.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
I don't know if he'd have got fired, But don't
you think with the Paul Pierce like that was him
showing what was going on, like it was like, I
don't know, And.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
At that time was marijuana. He was in California, right,
so was it legal?

Speaker 5 (36:36):
It might have been.

Speaker 1 (36:37):
But I also think this right, and we talked about
this with sports Shannon.

Speaker 5 (36:43):
Sharp is huge for ESPN.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
I mean he would have even if he would have
got fired, he would have been fine with his podcast
and autist.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Oh yeah yeah, But I'm just saying but there are
certain levels that even a company like ESPN, if they
felt like he purposely said that up.

Speaker 5 (37:00):
If he purposely did no, I totally agree.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
But I'm just saying if it was a similar situation,
whether it was an accident by him or like, like,
what if he had just hit the video and the
camera was in a spot where it could see them,
I'm not sure. I still don't know just having a
video would have I don't know that he would have
got fired. I lean toward no, because again, he's huge

(37:26):
for the network. Pierce was, you know, fine, but he
wasn't like a star, you know, as far as a
broadcaster like Shannon was or is. So I don't do
like do you think again, I agree if he purposely did.

Speaker 5 (37:39):
That, I think that you just.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
Questioned somebody's maturity when you're at the levels a broadcaster.

Speaker 5 (37:47):
I totally agree with it.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
If it was purpose What if it was an accident
but you saw a video instead of audio, you still
think he gets fired?

Speaker 5 (37:56):
Video of him?

Speaker 1 (38:00):
But the morcenalities who as stuff leaked?

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Yeah, but I don't know you no, I've seen them.

Speaker 5 (38:08):
Rob what tape do you want to see more Robert
Kraft or Shannon Sharp? I want to see Robert Kraft.
I've been I've been waiting for years for that, you're
gonna get your your feelings hurt. He would, I want
to see I do.

Speaker 3 (38:22):
I want to see what was going on in that
strip mall in Florida.

Speaker 5 (38:26):
Allegedly, Yeah, I do. I want to see. Oh, that's why,
And then he wonders why he's not in the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 1 (38:32):
I'm just saying, oh, oh wow, place play something for us, Alex.

Speaker 5 (38:39):
Not that I mean, if it's what.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
I went to Bill Cosby's house too. I had a
drink and I woke up this role
