Let's get this, punnies, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

It is The Odd Couple. I'm Chris, He's Rob.

com will help you get there. They've got an unmatched selection,

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Great to have him the night.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Love to hear his thoughts on tour and other things
in the NFL, so keep a lot for that.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
At the bottom of the hour, let's go say something, Chris.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
I want to say something about you, as I want
to do every top of the hour for people just
joining us. Everybody knows today's the last show on the
Odd couple. You move on to concentrate on FS one
and the first things. First, spend time with your beautiful wife,
Crystal and all that. We all got it. But the
(01:29):
part about the show and you I think that I
think resonated the most is that it was real. And
that's the part that people took two and and we
had our battles. I mean, we had some much and
they and they were all real. They weren't fake, you
(01:53):
know what I mean. And they weren't and they weren't
contrived or anything. And but the show went on, you
know what I mean, Like like we talk about it
all the time in this business. We know of people
who've had radio shows together and they do a radio
show for three hours and never talk to each other
off the air, never go out to eat, never do anything. Yes,
(02:19):
which I think is all Can you imagine living that life?
I just I couldn't.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
That's hard.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
So I appreciate the authenticity that this show had. And
it was just it was real. It was like brothers fighting.
And then you got to you know, you got you're
sharing the room.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
You got to go back.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
To sleep that night, Chris, Right, Yep, there's no doubt
everything we did was real.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Nothing was ever, you know, because we talked about it, right,
people always wonder yep, and I actually heard I'm not
gonna say the name. I respect the brother and and
really like him. But I saw recently, you know, within
the past few months, someone who had been on debate shows,
you know, like said that, you know, it's kind of
(03:05):
contrived one what show is that? Totally it was just
totally wrong false. It's not false.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
And yeah that me, me and you and skip right
well on the three first three right for first take,
for for cole Pizza, first take and undisputed the three
of us and not one time ever, Chris, were you
in the meeting. I was in the meeting where they said,
well take this thing and let's skip take that.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Never that never happened. And I know that doesn't happen. Rob,
we know Stephen A.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Smith, Well, none of these shows, they don't do that.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I'm saying now, Rob and I when we talked about
a topic before the show, do we want to do this?
It's better if you disagree because it's gonna be you know,
more tension and a little more edge. But if we
never force it, I mean, you guys, hear a lot
of topics we agree on, no, and we agree them
and they still can be good.
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Exactly because the listeners Chris might disagree, and then that's
what we play. Me and you are both on lockstep
and it's a topic we need to do. We're not
gonna fake the funk just to.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Do the topic.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
No, we we give our honest opinions, and we've done
that on all our TV shows and on this radio show.
So absolutely it's real. So Robert's also real. Shader Sanders, obviously,
the talented quarterback son of Dion Sanders, plays at.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Colorado for his dad. They're one and one.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
They play Colorado State tomorrow again on National TV, but
just about all their games on national TV, which is great.
And you know he's been called everything from the number
one pick in the draft to a top five pick
after his great game against North Dakota, the state which
in fairness is a Division one double A school, you know,
(05:05):
that lower level of Division one. But still, you know,
he's everybody knows his talent. But there was an article
a CBS Sports that talked to a lot of scouts
in the NFL and many of them were saying he
was not even a definite first round pick.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
So robb Gi summarizes article for US.
Speaker 5 (05:26):
Sure so with these responses, the grades varied from good
starter to strong backup. Nowhere in there was their top
overall pick franchise quarterback the way Deon Sander speaks about him.
Here are some of the quotes from the anonymous scouts
listed in the article. I'm not honestly convinced he's a
(05:48):
first rounder. He's solid, talented passer, holds the ball too long.
Don't see a top five pick. If someone like mac
Jones goes top fifteen, can shed Doll go top fifteen?
I guess he could. He's like a better version of
Tarad Taylor. And this is probably when they get a
rob skin. He's accurate. I just get turned off by
(06:10):
the me me me stuff and then when he threw
his offensive line under the bus.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
And Chris, here's my issue, scouts. It shouldn't be personal.
It should be about the talent and whether or not
you're you're You don't have to like the guy. There
are a lot of guys who are great players who
weren't nice people, Chris. People you wouldn't want to go
out to dinner with people you wouldn't want to.
Speaker 6 (06:37):
Invite to your house. Right, it's about their talent.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
And I'm not saying just because like Caleb, there was
a lot of people, Oh well, they say that he
wants to be a part owner of a team. Oh well,
they say that him and his dad want to do this,
or they want this kind of money or whatever it is,
or they want to opt out of the the rookie
rookie deal you remember on scale and all that, and
(07:04):
so people use that against him in to say whether
they liked him, or he shouldn't be on their board
or whatever because they don't like the other stuff.
Speaker 6 (07:13):
And I think there's a separation of the two. It
should be about the talent.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Now, you could say Chris as somebody who's going to
pick a player for your team, right, whether or not
he's a fit for your organization.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Do you see what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
But as a scout, I just wonder why it just
seems personal. I have no proof that's what some of
the conversations sounds like, My god, they're all watching the same.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Guy, and they're all over the place. And I know
scout's not going to be.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
In lockstep, but wow, from you know, the top pick,
no doubt about it too, don't I wouldn't like the
Caleb one was the one that got me. He's not
on my drift board at all. Okay, well but who
I don't even remember who was that?
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Ye Daniel?
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Okay not that got some different views. He said, Spencer
Rattler will be the best quarterback in this drift and
we'll see. But I'm just saying Daniels, he's hit a few,
but yeah, he's out there a little bit. But anyway,
but I do rob character does matter, and I agree
(08:29):
with you that everybody's not gonna be the choir boy.
Some guys, You're right, some of the best players ever Lawrence,
but he's.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
In the hall.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
He's also not a quarterback. Quarterback is a little different.
I mean, look at the great quarterbacks. I'm not saying
they were all obviously not perfect and choir boys and stuff.
But you you're the leader of the team. You are
an absolute leader. And so I'm not saying that is
only one personality, but I'm saying I do think teams. Now,
(09:04):
if you want to say the scout man, you're on
the lower rum.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
You're just a scout. Tell me about the kids talent.
That's what am you.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Could this the GM the coach, We'll deal with the character.
If you're saying that, I'm with you. But I do
think what I'm saying, don't. I'm saying this Chris the
scout that the team.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
I could agree.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
I get to interview the kid and all that, And
if I think he doesn't isn't a fit with our organization,
that's different. But a guy who's a valuating his athletic talent,
I don't think because he because he heard that his
father wanted UH not to be in a rookie scale,
or he wanted a part of the team, that shouldn't
be an evaluation of his talent.
Speaker 6 (09:45):
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Not I agree with that, but but the organization needs
to look at that. And the simple thing you talk
to the dad, Like in this case, that's just not
gonna happen. So now, like I really would talk to
the dad if he really was trying to put we
don't want to be in the rookies. Gil, You're like, look,
if you're gonna play in the NFL, you're gonna be
on the rookies scale. So is this going to be
(10:06):
an issue or not? And you still might draft the
kid because he might come to a census and stuff.
But I'm just saying, Rob, these things are for an organization.
They should be taken into consistent to me. You don't
draft the kid. Maybe you know, you feel like you
can work with him, or he's so good you're like.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Man, look, Christ take dudez.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
According to Tony Due, all of a sudden is the
is the cats me out?
Speaker 1 (10:38):
I mean they got all these shows because it was
on Netflix a few years ago.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Now they got a new one coming out.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Well, because the details about his life are like, you know,
put you out there, Chris, that people want to watch
when you have a football playing all of the stuff.
But look, this is what I'm saying. Aaron Hernandez according
to Tony Dungee and I hope I'm not miscoding him,
he said when he was in Tampa Bay, Rob G,
do you remember this that he was on there do
(11:03):
not draft list because right because of the stuff that
Irvin Mayer turned his head to and all the other
people knew what was going on in gang banging on
like this was not something that people didn't know. And
that makes sense there, Chris on a do not draft
list because you know, those.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
I mean there's a.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
Level, yeah, you know what I mean, violence and guns,
and then then yeah, there's there's a thing where it's like, look,
no matter how good it is, because if you're really
into that and you don't look like you're coming out
of it, in fact, we give you more money, you're
just gonna really get deep into it. Then Rob, you're
(11:45):
you're gonna hurt yourself and the team anyway. Ultimately, even
Lawrence Taylor, as bad as that was, I mean, the
drugs obviously was a bad situation, but it's not gunplay.
It's it's a little difference. It's not you know, where
you might be killing people.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Some organizations wouldn't have you know, but but he could play.
Some organizations wouldn't have wouldn't have allowed it.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Like well, the also thing I wonder Rob, and I
have no idea, maybe you do, was that And was
he like a drug addict in college?
Speaker 3 (12:21):
You know, because he was an addict.
Speaker 1 (12:23):
It seems like he was an addict by the time
he got with the I mean not by the time
he got with the Giants, but you know, during that run,
it seems like he was just addicted.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
He might have been a party guy, in North Carolina said.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Go get him and all kinds. I mean, that's just
the stories I mean that they talk about.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
So all right, but I hear you. I'm like the scouts.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
The scouts shouldn't make talent.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
I guess you gotta tell your team, Look, we hear
this or that and what that.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Executives can make it.
Speaker 6 (12:57):
Yeah, but that shouldn't be evaluated.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
I'm gonna because he wants a part of the team
like that.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Like, I don't like when you say that that has
nothing to do with talent.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Somebody in the organizations got to deal with it. But
it's not necessarily the scouts shot. But all right, look eight,
Chadure Sanders, what are your thoughts? There are a lot
of guys now, at least according to this reporting CBS
Sports saying that he's not even a first round pick
and rob g good starter or backup that's what I mean, surprise, Well,
(13:30):
and they may be that way, but I'm just saying
that map is limited because that map is backup or
good starter.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Nowhere on that map, at least for this article.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Do I see franchise quarterback all pro? You know, And
I think the kids got some real talent and you know,
I think he's got a chance to be really good
in the NFL. SO eight seven seven ninety nine on

Speaker 6 (15:39):
The age gap in this show is phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Now I would not have known, Well, Kelvin is younger.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
So he's in a show. You know, everyone talks all
he's a young guy.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
It's like, you know, he's in his forties, right, Chris
closer in age than me and Kelvin are.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Oh yeah, but I'm young too, Like from rob G
to me is still in that young generation.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
Class.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I mean round, I don't even want I mean the
big six. Oh man, that's that's special.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
I'm a young I'm really like forty five is a
great party.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Thank you. It was a fun time all right. Here
we go.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
And also, if you're on social media, I posted a
tribute to Chris Bussard.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
So when the commercial breakdo to collab.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
Collab me on it or is it?
Speaker 4 (16:27):
I said, I I tagged you so you should see it.
A tribute to Chris Bussar, my man, Charlie Duncan, one
of my students from usc MLB bro put it together
and Chris, it's a tribute to you. So during the break,
take a look at it all right, eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox Will in Kansas City, You're on
the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
What's up? Will?
Speaker 8 (16:49):
Hey, guys, first time caller, long.
Speaker 6 (16:52):
Time, Wow, first time six years in the making.
Speaker 8 (16:55):
Will thank you, Yeah, Chris, miss.
Speaker 9 (16:59):
You man, thank you.
Speaker 3 (17:02):
I appreciate you calling up man. Yeah, I appreciate and
I appreciate the words.
Speaker 8 (17:09):
But I do think chadur will go first round.
Speaker 10 (17:13):
There still a lot of season left.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
And there are a lot of teams out there that
need quarterbacks obviously, and I think rob when you look
at Shador and you scout him, I do think you
have to bake in the fact that he's playing with
no offensive line and he most unlike most you know,
big time quarterbacks. He is at a disadvantage just about
(17:40):
every week, not you know, not the first week against
North Dakota State, you know, not so much this week
when they play Colorado State, but.
Speaker 3 (17:47):
That big twelve play. They're gonna be.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
Undermanned in most of those games, and if he puts
up big numbers has great performances. I think that's gonna
have to weigh in because a lot of times some
of the quarterbacks ride from the big schools like Alabama
or even Ohio State. We know CJ. Strouds like the
first quarterback there to be really good in the pros.
They have such an advantage every Saturday in college. Not
(18:16):
only are they really good at the college level, but
their line is great, their receivers are great.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
They're better than the people they're playing.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
So your first options open a lot, your second options
open a lot. And then you get to the NFL
and it's a little different and they might they might
not be as good.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
So I think that does have to be something people
look at when they grade.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Shaudure Caleb in Washington. You're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
What's up, Caleb?
Speaker 8 (18:43):
Hey, how you guys doing the odd couple?
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Yes, sir, how are you?
Speaker 8 (18:48):
I am doing great? I called in a few years ago.
Just man, I listened to you guys every day, all
every single Fox Sports Radio, and I'm so glad that
I have been part of that opportunity. You guys are
the perfect mixture of Christy and you know, a good
Christian man and Rob being.
Speaker 6 (19:08):
You know.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
What what what about? Else?
Speaker 8 (19:15):
I love your intro. It's the best intro in the
game by far.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
That's a great radio intro because you far to find
because it's supposed to be a radio show like like
and I'm not knocking anybody else Chris, but shows that
are like Christ and Rob. Hey, it's Christ and Rob
right right now. We we had a great intro veto
did it outstanding?
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Man, Vito? Yes, I know you guys will have a
great one too. Yes, we got a new one coming.
Speaker 6 (19:43):
Yeah, I can hear.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
It is in Corona, California. Man, and it's you're on
the odd couple of Fox Sports Radio. What you got, buddy,
they got.
Speaker 5 (19:51):
A great show.
Speaker 10 (19:52):
Was always I gotta I feel like I gotta bring
Chris down a peg. I mean, he did this two
weeks there.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
I know that was not my idea. That's not my id. Yes,
I'll take it.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
I have no self esteem after these less I was
just I was like a dish rag on the show.
Speaker 9 (20:10):
No, you know what.
Speaker 10 (20:11):
Rob look, I mean, Chris, you know everyone's gonna miss you.
But you know that other the previous caller trying to
you know, besmirt your name. How many people have you
put through college?
Speaker 9 (20:21):
You put so many?
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Thank you?
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Thank you everyone.
Speaker 3 (20:26):
We don't know that.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
We don't know what they're doing with the money that
makes right, that enables rab to sleep at night.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
They say they're going to college. What else am I
supposed to think?
Speaker 4 (20:36):
Chris, I'm gonna call them a liar in the strip club,
I'm just saying that's true.
Speaker 10 (20:41):
And married guys like Chris and I, you know, we
don't we don't get involved with things like that. But anyway,
what I will say is, uh, I don't like the
anonymous scout things. Put your name to it. I understand
why they don't do it.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
That's the way it is nowadays. I mean, it's rare
that you say a aim on a quote now in
the story.
Speaker 10 (21:02):
Because they don't want to, they don't want to say
something wrong, and then this player ends up being right,
and they're out on a job, and they're always going
to be looked at as the guy who you know,
missed out on the player. But I do think if
you're a team, because Shador has a ton of upsides,
I think there is really good value in the first round,
especially if you're like a perennial player, like the middle
(21:24):
of the pack sort of playoff team where you can
get a guy like him, get rid of the older
quarterback on your roster. Now you got the rookie deal on,
you can bring people in and really develop him out.
I think there's a really good upside.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
Listen, I agree, I agree, Greth you Yeah all right, brother,
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Sean Kings around the corner.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm
Eastern four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
We're live from the tie right dot Com Studios. Our
next guest former NFL quarterback. Oh we got new tell
your NFL an list?
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Now?
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yeah you got music?
Speaker 9 (22:02):
Now?
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Oh King the King with the Down with the King
run DMC and where can get them from? Rob g
did you come up with that. Sean. That's Sean. That's
his era. Man, that's their era. Me and Sean. All right,
he can't hear us, Sean can't can he hear?
Speaker 9 (22:26):
Hey?
Speaker 11 (22:27):
Listen, guys, whole School never ever, ever ages still the
best music ever invented, having between let's say ninety and
ninety nine. I stand by that.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
And when we're later, it was some great stuff. That
was good stuff, no doubt about it, bright stuff. All right,
It's great to have you on, brother.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Obviously, the huge story is Tuur and what what are
your thoughts? Everybody's talking about the retirement question. Let's not
beat around the bush. What are your thoughts on this
whole thing.
Speaker 9 (22:59):
Here's why I say he should take a very introspective
look at his health. That wasn't a big hit.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Right, that's what a routine hit.
Speaker 9 (23:09):
Yeah, that's what makes it extremely extremely dangerous to me.
That was his helpmet hit DeMar Hamlet's arm. It wasn't
like a massive like collision. I mean, if he got
lucky last year, I'm gonna say, and relatively stayed healthy.
But obviously whatever the conditions or underlying issues are, they
(23:30):
still exist. I mean, he's gotten the one thing he
didn't have last year, which is the bag ye're gonna
do right buying. So I think he got to take
a really close look because that's dangerous because that was
not a big hit.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Yeah, I mean, it's one of those things. And Chris
and I were talking earlier. That's why NFL players deserve
to get real money, real contracts. You know, your career
could be over in a blink of an eye on
some hit or some situation. And you said it, it
wasn't even that big of a hit. And that's the
scary part for him. Players should think about that. I
(24:05):
still can't believe how unprotected NFL players are.
Speaker 9 (24:12):
Yeah, it's scary, it really is. It's a part of
the game. I think it's what at least all the
older guys. It was a badger honor for us back
in the day at quarterback was to not just perform well,
but do it under the rest doing an environment where
they could hit you, where you had to show you
a tough That's just not the age we live in now.
So I just think Tools gotta be very very smart
(24:32):
about how he moves on.
Speaker 1 (24:35):
Yeah, how tough is that he's twenty seven years old.
I believe how tough would that decision be?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
And maybe you for you, it wouldn't be tough.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
But I'm just I really want to know the mind
of a professional athlete who's played his entire career to
get here, and you know, you got a good team,
and you had a very productive year last year, and
you know, so this is your dream.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
How tough of a decision do you think that is?
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Even while getting hurt like he has to walk away?
Speaker 9 (25:09):
Well, I mean it's tough because of how much work
you put into getting to this level. And you know,
from a legacy standpoint, if he doesn't play another snap,
I'm sure his legacy doesn't sit in a situation that
you know hit it a vision, you know, as far
as like being viewed as one of the top quarterbacks,
you know, having the potential to be a Miami Dolphin
Ring an honor player. You know, everybody wants to like.
(25:32):
He hasn't achieved that level of success. So I'm sure
he feels like with the supporting cast he has, if
he can find a way to stay healthy, he's on
that path. So it's a tough decision. But man, I
wouldn't make the decision to retire simply because if that
hit caused him to have a concussion, I mean, I
(25:53):
just don't know how you move forward after that.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
You know, so Shaan, you evaluate quarterbacks and all that
obviously played at quarterback in the NFL, uh Shador Sanders.
I mean we're talking about the scouts. I think there's
a lot of As a scout, I don't think it's
your job to be worried about what people are saying
(26:16):
or what kind.
Speaker 6 (26:17):
Of card drives, or what he's doing.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
In college or you know, or whatever his flash whatever
to evaluate the talent of him, and that's his evaluation
is all over the map, where some people think he
could be great and the top pick, and other people
think he could be a great backup quarterback. Where are
you on on chaquur and what uh? And what you've seen?
Speaker 9 (26:39):
We ain'table, He's ain't questionably a first round talent. I
mean you're talking about a league that drafted Kenny pick
It in the first round and drafted Zach Wilson in
the top five. I mean as a potential player than
those guys. My thing with Sad is it might be
too much, too fast. He's almost delusional, like he's so
(26:59):
immature in ways that you wouldn't anticipate being that you
know Dianni's dad. But he has a long way to
go before he's ready to lead an organization. But his
talent alone will get him drafted in the first round.
Is he good enough to be the number one pick?
It probably depends what some of the other guys do.
Can kem wi Warre continue the level he's playing that,
what kind of season is torrens in beccalf like some
(27:21):
of those other guys. But the talent is there. I
just think he got to grow up a little bit.
I don't think he's ready to be the face of
a franchise from a mental standpoint.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
What what were your thoughts on Caleb? You know, obviously
his debut wasn't great. They did get to win. So
were you did you see anything or nazis anything that
discouraged you?
Speaker 3 (27:47):
I mean, obviously his first game.
Speaker 1 (27:48):
You're not gonna make a long term judgment or him,
I don't think, But did you see stuff that make
gives you pause or maybe how great he can be
or not?
Speaker 9 (27:59):
Well? I think I been very fair in my evaluations
of Caleb. I have not put undue expectations on him.
I've said, I think he's a super talented kid that's
a developmental quarterback that will get better in year two
and three. Then he will be Initially, I think fundamentally
he's still very unsound. I think he's so used to
(28:19):
playing outside of the scheme at USC it's going to
take some learning from him. It'll be a learning curve
to sit in the pocket, throw the ball in rhythm,
with anticipation, accurately, on time, consistently. He got to grow
into that. Like, the one thing I worry about the
Bears is they really think they got like a Super
Bowl calibration.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yeah, it ain't just the Bears, though, Are you kidding Sean?
Have you heard these guys?
Speaker 3 (28:48):
I mean, don't see.
Speaker 9 (28:49):
I don't see that because I don't think his game
is refined enough to consistently play at the high level.
But the talent is there, and if they're patient with him,
he will develop into a good player.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
So what do you think he does this weekend against Houston?
Speaker 1 (29:01):
A lot of people wondering if he can have the
big bounce back game and do I want?
Speaker 3 (29:06):
I want that question, But here's another one too.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Do you think he can avoid the one on one matchup? Right,
he's facing CJ Stroud, who had the great rookie year
last year, who everybody's comparing Caleb to and have risen
actually expectations for Caleb because of CJ. Do you think
he could actually get, you know, get caught up in
(29:31):
the one on one thing too, where if k if
CJ's cooking, he's gonna try to do some stuff that
maybe needs he shouldn't try to do.
Speaker 9 (29:40):
Absolutely. I think every time Caleb takes a snap, he's
trying to prove that he's deserving on the number one pick.
I think the Bears would have a better chance of
success if he took Perty's approach, which is I don't
need or desire any of the credit. I'm just gonna run.
Speaker 4 (29:55):
That's that's hard to do. Come on, Matt, one guy
is missing irrelevant degree. It's just not come on, Sean,
Ain't no way, no no, Let me let me just say,
ain't no way. He's thinking thinking to himself, I want
to be brock Purty and act like I didn't have
these big games at USC and play on national television
and one a Heisman. He can't have that philosophy. He
(30:19):
can't think that way. Sean that's ridiculous to think that.
Speaker 9 (30:22):
So I'm gonna take your wallet out your pocket and
I'm gonna take your credit card and you're gonna buy
dinner for me and Chris because at the end of
the day, it's about winning football.
Speaker 4 (30:31):
No but that, but that mentality is not possible when
you've had the success that he had.
Speaker 3 (30:36):
It's for college. But it's hard. No, come on, it's
to be mister irrelevant.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
No, no, not that, but but just to be like, look,
I just want to win. I don't care about the
numbers or whatever, and just yeah, I mean it's hard
though with all.
Speaker 9 (30:50):
The here's why it's not hard. The guy on the
opposite side of him, Sunday did it exactly that last year.
Didn't take what the second pick in the draft. He
didn't approach the game like, let me make a highlight play.
He said, I'm gonna run the offense.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
I'm gonna be you could you know what, Come on?
Speaker 4 (31:10):
You could say that when somebody has success and then
act like they're totally different and they took a different
approach and when people struggle or fail, oh it's because
they did this. There were other quarterbacks who didn't make
a big you know, splash who still didn't succeed. I
don't remember Zach Wilson. I don't remember him going, oh
(31:30):
I'm gonna be this, I'm gonna be the greatest thing
who ever played in New York. Or he just couldn't play.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
How about that?
Speaker 3 (31:36):
Sometimes you just can't play.
Speaker 9 (31:39):
So let me simplify it, because I know you like baseball.
It's like if O Tiny goes to the plate and says,
I got to hit a home run to get the fifties,
as opposed to let me get the right pitch, let
me put solid bat on it and hit it hard.
He's probably more likely than the home run with the
second approach to be great at quarterback in this league,
rob you have to have bulletproof emotions. That means you
(31:59):
don't get too high that you lose control. You don't
get too low that you lose confidence. Perfect example, Will
Zvis gets mostly high jack. He gets too high, he
makes a good play, he goes and rubbing his hands
in his hair. He's yelling at everybody on the sideline,
you knowing implosing it and imposing is coming. He's gonna
throw an unnecessary pick six and lose the game. Daniel
(32:21):
Jones the opposite. The minute something goes wrong, he gets
that will.
Speaker 11 (32:24):
Look in his eye.
Speaker 9 (32:25):
They beat him up. He's lost his confidence, he has
no shot.
Speaker 8 (32:28):
He can't play.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
How about he just get we gotta roll. G is
in my ear, Get off, get off. We got you know,
we got bills to pay.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
All right?
Speaker 1 (32:36):
They having you on, brother, We will talk soon, all right, man,
that's our man.
Speaker 4 (32:41):
Sean, I'm not down with I'm not down with the king.
Speaker 3 (32:44):

down with the queen. All right, Moro couple coming your way.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
Yeah, I was gonna say it at the top of
the hour because I know Rob G's tripping that we
we gotta rush the pakes and pickoff. So yeah, but
but awesome though, but uh yeah, pigskin pick off.
Speaker 6 (33:38):
Now, that's right.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
It is the NFL pickskin pickoff Chris and rocking NFL
Games against Spread for the last time. I wasn't feeling
nostalgic until I'll be missing you with p Ddy and
Faithamas with their Dan.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
Then I will. It's gonna be tough. It's gonna be tough.
We only got about I know. It's like Chris is dying,
but he's not. It just feels that way.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
Rob G told me he's never gonna talk to me again.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Rob I'm just saying, I watch he won't. He'll be
so busy and him and Kelvin will have a bond.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Yeah, and he won't even talk to me.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
Yes, that's right, all right.
Speaker 5 (34:12):
Here we go NFL Games against the Spread, Week number two.
Last week tough scene for Rob one and four, good
scene for Chris forour and one. Let's get to it first,
game Saints at the.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Coloy here at the end of the year, so I
could care all these bet Mgskelvin's getting these points.
Speaker 6 (34:31):
Cowboys six and a half point home favorites. Chris, who
do you like?
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I got the Cowboys? Look New Orleans quietly, Derek Carr.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Rob has been playing great lately his last five games,
and I know he goes back to last year obviously.
His last five games robed fifteen touchdowns, one pick, one
hundred and twenty nine passer raady.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
All that said, Cowboys and they cover. I'm gonna I'm
gonna take the Saints. Wow, closer game. Uh but got
the saying is winning out right? No, I think they cover.
I think they cover like a big point game, six
and a half of the lot.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
Speaking of big numbers, Bucks at Lions, Rob's Detroit Lions
seven and a half point home favorites. According to Lamar Mitchell,
Rob are you taking?
Speaker 4 (35:15):
I'm taking the Bucks plus the seven and a half again,
Lions win the game, Bucks cover.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
I'm with Rob on that.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
One, which scares me, But uh yeah, I got Detroit winning.
Speaker 4 (35:26):
But even when they lost that playoff game, it was
pretty close. The Bucks are a pretty decent team, So
I don't think it's the.
Speaker 5 (35:33):
Bucks in the points, rob My Baker Mayfield take just
age terrible?
Speaker 4 (35:36):
Just I know what was the other one you had
on Twitter that we two.
Speaker 5 (35:41):
It was just a great quarterback and then he threw
three picks in that first half, So you know, a
tough scene for me, all right?
Speaker 6 (35:46):
Last one? Third game with the Pixie and pickoff.
Speaker 5 (35:49):
Niners five and a half point road favorites in Minnesota.
No Christian McCaffrey in this one, Chris, What's what's there again?
Speaker 6 (35:56):
Five and a half.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
I'm going with the Niners.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
I know it's a big spread, especially on the road,
but I don't think they I mean, look, they need
McCaffrey ultimately, but I think they'll be fine in this game.
Speaker 4 (36:09):
Yeah, I hate to agree with you on this one.
I'm gonna take the Niners as well, coming off the
big win, and yeah, I'll go with the Niners, all right.
Speaker 5 (36:21):
Game number four, pigskin pick off the game of the weekend,
Bengals at the Chiefs in Burroughhead chief six point home favorites, Rob,
are you taking?
Speaker 6 (36:33):
I'm gonna take the Bengals to win outright?
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Wow?
Speaker 6 (36:37):
I think they played so poorly.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
They have something to play for and to prove that
they're better than they really are.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Chris, is a lot of points.
Speaker 10 (36:46):
You know.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
The one thing about the Chiefs for a long time,
on the last couple of years, they don't cover. Like
they win a lot, but they don't always cover. I'm
saying that the Bengals gonna win this game. I'll take
the six points they can lose and cover for me,
but I'm gonna take the Bengals to win.
Speaker 1 (37:00):
I definitely think Kansas City wins. They are motivated by
that trash. You know, you hear Mahomes and Kelsey mentioned
you know what so and so said during games and
things like that, or you know then the press conference
will say it.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
So I'm gonna go with Kansas City. I'm hesitant because
they might not cover.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
I definitely think they win, but I'll go with the
Chiefs even covering last one.
Speaker 5 (37:23):
Number one picks. Going head to head Bears at the
Texan CJ. Stroud Caleb Williams Houston six and a half
point home favorites. Chris, are you taking I'm.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Again a bit hesitant with the points.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
I'm gonna take Houston, though I think they definitely win
and I'm gonna take them with the points too to cover.
Speaker 4 (37:40):
I think the Bears defense is pretty amazing what we
saw last week. I think that the Bears lose, but
they cover, Chris. I think it's a closer game. Their
defense is pretty doing good.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Yeah, that's one that you could be right on that
because it's gonna be it'll be interesting.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
You just don't know how this thing is gonna go
with Caleb.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
And he could bounce back. He didn't play that well
sold you know what I mean. Chriscident but decent with
a good defense. And it's a close game, all.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
Right, A couple last hour of the show, not only
the night, but forever.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
At least we're rob and I keep it lot Fox
Sports Radio
