Let's give this, buddies.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
Our number two on a worship Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
We're broadcasting live from the tier rack dot com studios
tire rack dot com. We'll help you get there an
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free roadhazard protection, and over

Speaker 2 (00:47):
That's right, tire rack dot com.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
The Way tire buying should be coming up in about
twenty eight minutes. Mike Jones, the National NFL writer, Mike
Jones who the National NFL right from the athletic Yet
he has to hate that, Mike Jones, Yes, there you go.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
We'll do that.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington, and I hope you're enjoying
the show and the entertainment you just got at the
way last und of that that was entertainment.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
No, you were better off saying entertainment. They got the
whole first hour. I'll give you that, the last segment,
last segment. Now, now you did all right? I told
you the Twitter one, keep the block one. I'm not
mad at that. You know what's crazy, Wendy will keep
it because it's gonna be a long twenty probably years
of win being.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
But it got a nice beat to it. You know,
you don't made that song that originally was made. It
was called Wendy Windy. We figured that by the association,
which is very fitting. It works even more right.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
We'll give you by the association and the other one.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
The Twitter song is Leslie Gore and what's surprising is
and you know, music is just music Leslie Gore, but
the Quincy Jones produced a lot of her music.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
You wouldn't it is amazing when.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
You go, he's crazy when you do your research and
start this song. I used to say all the time, Kevin.
I used to be like, why do I like this
song so much? It would be like, you know some song.
I was like, man, I don't even like this is
surprising on the beat or the two you know, like
I'm just really into it. And then I did my research.
This song was originally done by this person or this

(02:28):
group or written by this person.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
You know what I mean, And then you realize, okay,
it makes sense why I like it. The Quincy Jones
may be.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
The great, like, the most impactful person, Leslie Gore.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I would never have thought Quincy Jones produced.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Her Austin Power theme song. He revived Frank Sinatra's career.
Frank Sinatra literally was like becoming the old this old
guy who is that? And he gets me Jones lays
of glory went. I would have blazed of glory did
it his way, Uincy Jones. Then Michael Jackson could have
just been having a little kid with the Jackson five,
gets with Quincy Jones and gets off the wall, gets thriller,

(03:07):
I mean Quincy Jones.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, we can go deep dive on that ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
All right, our here in the hour number two, we
started with baseball. Let's update the scores one to one
Mets and Brewers. Mets have a man on second inning,
so that game, you got some hope, there's one one there.
If the Mets win all three of these teams sweep,
it's incredible, it really is, because you just thought that

(03:31):
the Yeah, that's what I mean incredible U And of
course if you're just joining us, the Astros were eliminated
by the Tigers two games sweep, and the Oils were
eliminated by the Kansas City Rolds or two games sweep.
All those games, those wins coming on the road. But
let's get to football, and you have a problem with

(03:52):
the Jets and more more importantly Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
So let's let's unpack this. So, I mean, it's like
the low hanging fruit, but I want to hear what
you gotta say.

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Well, I will break it down where it may not
be that low hanging to you. So I think what
the Jets end up doing. And for those who maybe
don't know the latest, you gotta launch your stuff. You
got Garrett Wilson out there saying that the offense is
not where it needs to be. It's changed, it's become
boring and predictable. His routes aren't what they used to
be the last couple of seasons. Obviously, we know you

(04:23):
got the whole chest bumpet or the two hug or
not to hug between Seila and Aaron Rodgers. They got
a lot of drama going on right now and a
lot of it to me is tied to their marriage
to Aaron Rodgers. They go out on the lamb to
get Aaron Rodgers. They say, hey, why not, He's a
Hall of Famer, he is a former MVP. And I

(04:44):
get it right, they've struggled to have great quarterback production.
And I'm not mad at them going to get Aaron Rodgers.
But once you got to realize, Rob, when you do that,
you've signed on for that diva. You know how you
got the voice like Lebron, you know how you're sawing it.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
That's facts, that's true.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I mean, you know how you have the American When
you go and get that, you know we need a
new judge, right, the show's getting a little stale.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
We need a new judge on the show.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
And when you go get that new, big, huge diva
person to come revive the show, it could work.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Ratiings could go through the roof. You could be a
TV darling.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
It could revitalize the fan base and it could be
great for business. Or it could become cancerous. It could
become drama field, it could become problematic. It could become
he says, she say, and it isn't working anymore. And
kind of burns the thing down. And to me, that's
what it is starting to look like with the Jets.
Robert Sella has got a bunch of issues.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Now. You can tell he's starting to lose the team.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
You got Nick Hackett and Aaron Rodgers, who the offense
is supposed to be singularly going through them.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
You mean, can't Hackett and Nick can't Hackett ain't hacking it?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
And the offense is terrible right now.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
The defense is still solid, not great as they say,
but it's solid. And now you got guys coming out,
Gary Wilson, You're best receiver, saying, man, this ain't something
ain't right. The offensive he said, I watch other games.
Are offenses born? I watch other games. Our schemes are simple.
He's saying it a loud.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
But Nathaniel Hackett is the one who was the offensive
coordinator right when Aaron Rodgers won those two MVP and
go look at the numbers in Green Bay.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
I get it.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
I mean that was that was you. I'm not even
saying right, no, no, no, but I'm just saying, but
that's the guy he's talking about. That is the guy
he's talking about.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
But I'm saying, now, you've married yourself to this, and
now you gotta hope.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
You have to hope you can go out.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
There and get de Vonte Adams and this is the
last saving grace and something works, because now you got
too much starting to happen. Man, you got they're arguing
through media about cadences Rob Parker, No, well, usually he
does cadence in the offensive line. Well, it ain't the
offensive line. We need to get it better. Like they're
arguing about cadences, they're arguing about fists and chest bumps

(06:50):
and hugs. This is where it is starting to It's
the ship is going down, and it's going down fast.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
To me, it's too early for that to be the case.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
And obviously this is because the kicker missed a very
makeable field goal that they should have won that game
in Denver. So when you lose a game to a
team like that where you don't get any end zone
and the kicker missed the kid, it wasn't too long,
the kick had the leg, he missed it.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
He missed the field goal.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
So when you lose a game like that, that is
what's going to get people worked up.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Because normally in football, you take the w and you.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Move on to the next week, right, But now you
have to look and go unpack it all.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
And I get it.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
Wilson not happy with the way the offense. It hasn't
been great. Aaron Rodgers' first game, Rob Ge, we talked
about it. He looked great, Like as far as the
way he was in the second game, the way he
was just throwing the ball around and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
And you were like against the Patriots, and that's what
you're supposed to do.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
And that's what folks thought they were gonna get. But
when you really start to look at this offense, man,
the offense is not producing, and that's why they're you know,
the thought of them going out and getting Devonte Adams
is enticing to them.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
But like I said, when you make this marriage to this, you.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Know, if you're bringing on this diva, you're bringing on
this social media influence to revitalize your mom and pop business. Hey,
maybe if we get this social media they have five
hundred thousand followers, that'll save us. You're hoping that it
all works out, But the one thing about it is
it has to work out in its entirety or it
can bring the whole thing down.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
And so far between.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Aaron Rodgers wasn't his fault, but he gets hurt the
first year, four plays in and now he comes in
and again there's a lot of time left in the season.
Hopefully they can save it for them. You know, they're
for themselves, but it's just now it's drama after drama,
Gary Wilson talking. They're arguing about, like I said, the
chest bump slash hug thing becomes a thing that everybody's
complaining about their offense. What's going on here. They're complaining

(08:41):
about offensive lineman. They've been penalized crazy. They shot themselves
in the foot the last game with all those offensive
false starts. So something's off right now within that team,
in that system, and it's kind of like they've put
they put basically, it almost feels like rob they put
everything on Aaron Rodgers went what god he's here well
because and they stopped building and stop having a scheme

(09:02):
and stop having an identity, and they're just like, oh,
thank God, Aaron Rodgers here, I save.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Well because they had a good defense and they were
winning seven eight.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
With no quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
You look at the quarterbacks that they've had the last
couple of years, you're like out in the world. They
even got a seven wins, they should be one in
fifteen or one in sixteen or whatever it would be,
you know. And now I just think whenever you have
somebody of that stature, and what was the expectations in
that division? Now Miami's out right, New England's not going

(09:33):
to play. It's between Buffalo and the Jets. There's a division.
It ain't between Buffalo Jets. No, no, but I'm saying,
but there's a chance there's nobody on Miami's now out
of the way is out of the way, It's what
I'm saying. So there's a lot of stakes, and you
don't know their high stakes there, and you don't know
how long Aaron Rodgers is going to play given his
age and what's happening.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
So a lot of things for the Jets. This was
about a big year.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
And you looked at Denver on the schedule and you
thowt w and when you lose a game that you
think you should win, and again the kicker missed it,
like like you could say whatever you want, Yes they
didn't get in the end zone, but should they have
won that game?

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Absolutely, he had the leg he just pulled it. But anyway,
Denver snuck out a couple of wins. By the way,
we were terrible.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
You remember, starting, I could think, you know, maybe they're
not maybe they're men, and maybe they end up being
nine and eight kind of a thing.

Speaker 2 (10:23):
But they're not a one do they have one one touchdown? Right?

Speaker 4 (10:27):
But I'm saying the team as a whole. Look, they're
two and two and that's a lot better than a
lot of teams that we thought. And the shoot them
down a the Bengals would love to be two and two.
But yeah, it's still early. And if they mess around,
and like I said, they mess around and pulled Davonte Adams,
then we might be having a different conversation here because
now you got somebody with familiarity, you got somebody that
wants the ball.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Can you're the Jets? I would just I would do
whatever I can because you've all.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
At this point, you've already pushed all your chips in exactly.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
So if you got a guy like that, even if it's.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Only for one year or him and Aaron Rodgers and
you try to we already those guys, you're there.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
You're there, and you.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Need something, especially coming off of a game where you
don't get into the end zone. I mean that if
there's any if there's ever a time that you're going
to reload offensively, and a guy of that talent, who
has a familiarity with Aaron Rodgers right and.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
A connection with him, it only seems to make sense.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
It seems like that's absolutely gonna be what they're trying
to do. And we just had a conversation earlier with
Vic Tafer about that. Who covers the Raiders for the
Athletic You know, that looks like something they're exploring. I
give up look second round and maybe it's not a
second one. Maybe that's what they want, but it ends
up being a third round pick for him. That's something
they would do. But I'm looking at this offense. Man
old total yards a game, The Jets are pretty much

(11:43):
the bottom third when it comes to offense per game,
not even three hundred yards a game. You think with
Aaron Rodgers of those running backs, you know, and they
made some bad decisions not giving the ball two hundred
and forty and fifty pounds running back at the one
yard line. They don't give it to him a couple
of time and up getting false starts. So Yeah, something's
not clicking with them right now. They have listen, they

(12:05):
have plenty of time only quarterway through the season to
get it right. But right now something else is going on.
You got too many people speaking out, you got too
many issues. Uh the false start. Something is not clicking
and they got to figure out way to get it right.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
All right.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox is the telephone number.
Eight seven seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
And by the way, three to one Mets in the
bottom of the second, Wow, we go, oh and three.
You know it could be owing through. It could be
a really bad night for me. But here we go
on the Jets regretting putting all of their eggs in
the Aaron Rodgers basket. We'll continue that conversation next with you.

(12:39):
It is the Odd cuple Rob Parker kelvin Washington right

I'm gonna invite you to church. You're coming, yep, I
will come, all right, look me in my eye when
you say it. Stop looking out over the place, will you?

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Yeah? All right? Whatever?

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Weight eight seven seven nine not on Fox, Calvin is
saying it's all Aaron Rodgers' fault, but.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Generally the way you phrased that, but someone like that.
All right, let's go to the chip very far for
going all in on Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Chili Tim in Atlanta, you're on the odd couple of
Fox Sports Radio. Chili Tim, I know you're hoping against
hope that the Atlanta Braids can extend this, but my god,
look at all the teams going down in the baseball playoffs.

Speaker 6 (14:27):
You know, I'm a man that say, man, the club,
but I believe it is some things you just can't
bring back. Come on, no, man, I just I'm looking
forward to the next season and the Korean you know,
can get back, and we just come back healthy next year.

(14:48):
I just don't even know.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
The Padres are good.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
I'm a really good but I was proudly I was
like the Detroit Tigers, man, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
Everybody everybody went on that story.

Speaker 4 (14:59):
Yeah, said, I'm going to be real with you, you
know what, And I think Tim will feel me for
some reason the Detroit teams. So maybe it's we've been
down so long that people, like when the Lions last year,
everybody was coming up to me like, hey, man, I'm
actually rooting for them to get to the Super Bowl. Man,
like everybody, you know what, Man, I want the Lions
to do well. And now the Tigers, people like, man,
you know what, I'm not mad at the Tigers. We're

(15:19):
one of those cities where people actually aren't mad at
the success.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
Because if there hasn't been any successful long time talk.

Speaker 4 (15:26):
Held Sam set him down to Tim, all right, now,
set him down. I mean, you can't hate on it.
All right, get to the let's get to it. Oh, Tam,
you were supposed to talk about Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
We brought up the Detroit Tigers. All right, We're doing next.
Dion in Texas, you're on the odd couple of Fox
Sports Radio. What's up, Dion?

Speaker 4 (15:48):
Hey?

Speaker 7 (15:48):
What's up? Fellas? Loving the show? Like I'll speak for Tim.
This what Tim was trying to say, he was going
to say what I'm going to say. I'm gonna make
two quick points. Aaron Rodgers. I'm off with him. Man.
He is won one NFC Championship game and has gone
to five in the quarterback of his type of elk,
you would think that he would lead to Ben the

(16:09):
two Super Bowl right. That's what I'm trying to say
is I don't think Aaron Rodgers they went all in
on him. There was a big mistake.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
What was the other option, Zach Wilson?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Is what I'm trying to say, like you gotta find Yeah,
there's there are ten twelve teams that need a quarterback.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
I'm just asking you.

Speaker 7 (16:26):
What I'm saying is Aaron Rodgers has proven that he
can't get you over the top.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Is that true? Okay? And also I'm just gonna get
what you mean. It's true, It's literally true.

Speaker 7 (16:36):
I'm gonna get you literally true.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
Yes, But also that their defense is given up forty
or more points.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
The three games that.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
Aaron Rodgers lost in the playoffs, we'll never touched the ball.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
Point never touched the ball. Let Deon Cook.

Speaker 7 (16:49):
The last game, that last NFC Championship game he played
against Tampa Bay, Aaron tom Brady threw three interceptions in
that game. Aaron Rodgers converted that to nine points. I
do believe. So that's not How about the defense? He
got three interceptions the game.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
So that's a point that's been Where was the interceptions?

Speaker 1 (17:05):
Did you watch the game? Where were he in a
stress that matter? If I get it, no, no, no, no, no.
If Tom Brady, If Tom Brady throws the ball down
all the way down to the other end and you
pick it all off at the.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
Thirty yard line, that ain't like getting it up there.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
That's another recession. I did it, but it doesn't the possession,
but it doesn't automatically mean that you go. I remember
the game. They weren't like turn the ball over at
the at their own thirty.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
He has to have layups.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
No, I'm just saying, game, you gotta get those in there,
you know when you.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Get the ball there.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Rodgers fanatic, they appreciate the call. I've been in Aaron
Rodgers borderline apologies for years and I sat here and
I shout out to my man Bucky Brooks too. He
would always argue me about this, and I've realized, look.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
Yeah, Bucky Brooks, who told that Aaron Rodgers was finished
before he won his last two MVPs.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
That buck no, Because that.

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Buddy Brooks, Aaron by Rogers becomes the guy Honey went
to MVP because he's That's the point, Rob, He's that
talented that at some point can the talent Matt, Can
it get you a championship? Can you win another Super Bowl?
You're too talented to only have one? You're too talented.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Consider how many times did Tom Brady play in a
playoff game where his team gave.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Up over forty points. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
I think one time and it happened to Aaron Rodgers.
So I'm trying to say to you what trying to
say to you. There's a couple of things going on.
I'm not saying he's perfect. It's hard to get back
to the super Bowl. Ask Damn Marino, who is one
of the all time great quarterbacks. Yes, okay, he went
to the super Bowl his second year. He never went
bad and he is never went bad.

Speaker 4 (18:43):
And what I'm trying to say rogers talent and Aaron
Rodgers was in a division where a year after year
after year he was getting these cracks set. Look, nobody's
not questioning his ability. No one's questioned that he was
had a great career and you would absolutely take him
if there were a lottery.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
You remember the.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Game against Seattle would on side kicking and the tight
end fumbled the ball and Seattle got it back.

Speaker 2 (19:04):
I'm just trying to you don't remember that.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Here's because the on side kick is field that he
goes to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Remember that game? What you're missing?

Speaker 4 (19:17):
The talented quarterbacks have found the way the great, the great,
the great.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
We just talked about outside of when his last year.
You know how paid Manning got a second Super Bowl
that last one. Yeah, when he got there. He got
there with the Colts, he won one. He got there again,
he lost to the Saints. He got to the there
a couple of time with the Broncos. All we're saying is, dang,
Aaron Rodgers, at least get there. That's all we're saying,
because it's a compliment to him about because we're saying

(19:44):
he's that talented pilp river is good, but you also
have to look at and you got it if you're
gonna do a deep dive.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
And I'm just trying to give you, like be realistic
about it.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
And I'm not saying he shouldn't have gone again, but
some of those games I get him. We games in
the playoffs that ended with Aaron Rodgers didn't even.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Touch the barrock. Do you have any before the stats?

Speaker 4 (20:05):
You know, his stats when he's down in the fourth quarter,
it's staggering. Like I'm not even trying to yell it.
Aaron Rodgers stats down in the fourth quarter, It's mind boggling.
It's almost like a Lamar Jackson against NFC teams where
you're like, wait, a manute how is he with Is
he now twenty one and one against NFC? Like that
doesn't even make sense. Aaron Rodgers went down in the
fourth quarter. He never comes back, and it doesn't make sense.

(20:30):
He's so talented. You though, my got Aaron Rodgers only
down seven or ten points fourth Absolutely we got a shot.
This is Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers went down like seven
or ten points. He never comes back. Matthew Stafford comes
back all the time. We already know what Patrick Mahomes does.
You see what Lamar Jackson. It's taggering to me that
he's that good, that talented. We all agree, and all

(20:51):
we're saying is man, the math doesn't math when we
need we need to rely on him. We need to
depend on him. We need to look at him and say, hey, man,
here's the more. Just don't win it for it you
need doesn't you need the.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
Defense not to get have to give up forty seven
points where you need to.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I watched every single game in this game. I'm shocked
you're arguing for this. Yeah, because because I think that
it's just the take you have. No, it's not a take,
it's it's it's easy, and it's lazy.

Speaker 4 (21:16):
No, it's not Laz's a line I'm giving.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
I'm giving you. I'm giving you, I'm giving you game.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
You're complaining about a team giving you the ball three times,
Rod Parker, three interceptions, I'm giving you three extra recessions
to go do something with it.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
No, because I can give you the same thing if
you look at the situations where Tom Brady was involved,
where he got the ball back against the Raiders, and
in that game he got that ball back when he
won the Super Bowl against the Panthers, the kicker kicked
the ball out of bounds which put it on the
forty yard line.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
You know, on and on and bring it up with
singular plays because Rob keep doing it. Rob Parker, I
know what you preach to your mentor me men tease.
I know what you're preaching his kids at USC. What
you are not preaching them is a bunch of excuses.
And that's what you're getting out right now, a whole
bunch of excuses right giving you facts about you. He's

(22:12):
too good to not have one enough, that's all. And
it's a compliment to him.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
People zam Marino was considered Some people say he's the best, best,
quarterback they've ever seen, and he never went back to.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
The super Bowl? Why is that? Why?

Speaker 7 (22:24):
How is that?

Speaker 2 (22:24):
How did that happen? Okay, so you bring the literal
anomin you breathes a hall of Fame quarterback? Course, all right?

Speaker 1 (22:31):
How many super Bowls did he go to? Brees Aaron Rodgers?
I'm asking you see a Hall of Fame quarterback? That's
so No, yes, it's your name of the Hall of
Fame quarterbo. This he is shouldn't be. How many super
Bowls did he go to?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Won me? I could go on and on argument. No,
absolutely not. Aaron Rodgers is the only four quarterback home
in the one Super Bowl before back off homes.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
We've said he's the most talented quarterback we've ever seen,
and he's only been the one that ain't did nothing
in a long time. That's all all we're arguing about that,
all right, Brian Finley, my bad man.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
No, we're gonna go to the guests.

Speaker 4 (23:05):
I know that's what I'm saying. My bad to you,
Brian Finley. We're gonna go to Mike Jones right now.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
We'll get the updead. Joe.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
I apologize, you had to hop in on this right now.
Mike Jones. Who that's what you'll say, Mike Jones. Jo,
do you get that you already know what it exactly?
Mike Jones, I us. You could jump in on this
too if you want to this conversation that we're having,
why don't you put a button on this for us?
He is a national NFL writer for The Athletic Company
Live from the Tyreck dot com studios.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Basically our conversation, let's talk about the Jets.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Look how you're gonna say that because I would rather
talk about Fine, we'll go to about the Jets and
your take on the Jets and whether or not the
Jets made a mistake by bringing Aaron Rodgers in.

Speaker 8 (23:45):
Well, I mean yes, they did well because they have
had a problem with evaluating and being realistic with themselves
about the state of their team for years now. They
swung in this on Sam Darnold, and it looks like
Sam Dunnold was actually a fine quarterback. He just wasn't
developed properly and wasn't supported properly. Then they, you know,

(24:07):
swung and missed on Zach Wilson and we don't know
if he's a good quarterback or not. But given the
track record. You know, they didn't have a plan in
place to help him grow adequately. Then they felt like
going and getting Aaron Rodgers was just going to turn
them into a super Bowl team when I mean last
year they didn't have a quality line. They tried to

(24:29):
upgrade their line this year, but they're still not there yet.
And Rogers is you know, he's tell you know, talking
about how the coaches need to hold people accountable. It's
just not a good situation. And so, yeah, they weren't
a quarterback away like they thought they were. And so
I do think that this was a mistake and I
didn't think it was going to work. And I mean, look,
it's a long season, but it's pretty shaky Rocky Waters

(24:53):
right now for them, and wait early in the season.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
And that leaves me to my question, Micha again, Mike Jones,
National NFL right for the athletic, I mean, where's Robert
Salin all this? He was, you know, supposed to be
a defensive guru. And Rob Parker here made it a
point the other earlier today that look, he was able
to get some wins, six to seven, seven wins from
what bad quarterback play because the defense was that good
defense has been okay this season, kept them in some games.

(25:20):
But with all the stuff coming out him and Aaron Rodgers,
what's the relationship. Garrett Wilson talking about the offense is
bad and we don't even were we're boring in comparison
to other teams. Where is he right now as far
as stability with.

Speaker 8 (25:31):
His job, well, I mean, I think that the pressure
is mounting. And yeah, you thought the defense was going
to be better but Chrousso have to remember they traded
for Hasan Reddick and that was going to give him
a you know, a talented pass pressure and he's not
there because he is still looking for a long term
contract that they don't want to give him, so he
doesn't have the full collection of talent that he was anticipating.

(25:53):
But even so, the defense had shown some wards in
previous years as well. You know, and you know Gary
Wilson talking about the offense, Well, they're running the offense
that Aaron Rodgers wanted to run. He basically hand pick
Nathaniel Hackett as his offensive coordinator because he was the
guy that was the in between between Matt Lafleur and

(26:15):
Rogers when they were there in Green Bay, and he said, Okay,
get him there. He knows what I like to run. Well,
if they don't. If Wilson doesn't like the offense, that's
because of his quarterback and his buddy. Who's the offensive coordinator?

Speaker 1 (26:29):
All right, I'll guess is Mike Jones from the Athletic.
He's a national NFL writer. Your last piece or latest
piece I should say in the Athletic is that anonymous
player poll and one where they have Tyreek Kill as
a non quarterback to build around and Josh Allen as
the next guy to win his first MVP.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Let me start with the Tyreek Kill.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
He don't look like the same player without two at quarterback.
So doesn't it matter like who the quarterback is because
we just saw a Tyreek Hill team go ten quarters
without a touchdown.

Speaker 8 (27:06):
You ain't lying no right exactly. But the question was,
and this was something that we did as a team.
All the beat writers were pulling guys all over of
the league, so not just me, but the question was
which non quarterback would you pick? So I guess you
know you have to have a competent quarterback. Now, look,
Tyreek Hill has definitely elevated the level of play for

(27:27):
tour because everybody thought too was going to be a
bust until they went out and got Tyreek Hill and
you know, he and Mike McDaniels to be able to
use him as the ultimate weapon for him. Now, you know,
they've got a guy that's you know, in Skyler, you
know Thompson that I mean, he's not an NFL starter,
And they got Tyler Huntley in there the other night

(27:49):
and he's not an NFL starter. So Tyreek Hill is talented,
but he can He's not a miracle worker. So you know,
you have to have at least a proficient quarterback and
then you can do a lot with him because of
the speed and his versatility and things like that. But
we're not getting to see his full potential and his
full you know, skill set because they're so limited at

(28:10):
that position.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
Right now, let me ask you this.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Okay, so Mike Tomlin has gone out of his way
there three and one off to a good start. But
we'll not say Justin Fields's quarterback now in the future,
and let's move forward.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Why is that.

Speaker 8 (28:26):
I don't think that he wants the young fella to relax.
I think he wants to keep the pressure on him. Like, look,
I could pull you at any moment, and that he's
trying to bring the most out of him, you know,
you know when he knows that, Okay, I don't have
this thing locked up. I've got to keep pushing myself.
I've got to keep working hard. And I don't think

(28:48):
that he wants them to subconsciously if he says, yeah,
he's our guy, we got our guy for the future,
he doesn't want him to subconsciously let up and look.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
But all the other guys have been told that they're
the guy and they're the franchise quarter back and it
hasn't hurt them. I just I just don't understand, like,
if he's really Russell Wilson is in your future, if
you really believe that's why I have to do it now.

Speaker 8 (29:13):
It's four weeks in there.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
It doesn't matter how far in you are. If you
believe in somebody and you really believe that. I don't
believe deep down that Mike Tomlin, who hasn't won a
playoff game since what twenty sixteen or whatever it's been,
he hasn't won a playoff game in eight years, that
he wants to he needs to win a playoff game.
Did you do it? And I'm not so sure that
he thinks that Justin Fields is going to lead him

(29:36):
to that, and that's why he holds on to Russell Wilson.

Speaker 8 (29:40):
Well, look, this is a it's an audition basically. You know,
it's not just you can't lock up the future in
four weeks. Yes, he's done some good things, but he's
still got room for improvement. A lot of things has
got to improve upon. And so that's why he's not
naming him that guy yet. And yeah, I mean, who
what's going to happen with Russell Wilson's you know leg

(30:03):
and if he's going to get back out there, you
know that the plan was for him to They were
going to ride him to the Wills. The loss then
turns Justin Fields and we'll see what happens. But I
think that Mike Tommlins like, look, he's done some good things,
but he's still got limitations. He's got a lot of
more growth that he needs to see from him before
we name him the guy for the future. Look, they've

(30:25):
got to get to the playoffs and they got to
win a game. If if they get to the playoffs,
then everything's going to take care of himself. For justin fields.
If they fall short, then yeah, okay, hey we tried,
he wasn't it. We'll go and get somebody else.

Speaker 2 (30:38):
Hey.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Yeah, you echoed the same sentiments when Robin I had
that conversation Mike Jones with us again, national NFL writer
for The Athletic, Get you out of here on this one.
You also were part of the team that put together
a poll that said that Josh Allen most of the
one hundred plus anonymous voters in the NFL players, they
pick Josh Allen's likely to be the next MVP. Some
even said he should have won it last year. The've

(31:00):
been Lamar Jackson. How high are folks on him within
his own league?

Speaker 8 (31:05):
You know a lot of people around the league have
a lot of respect for him. You know, I think
that as far as people on the outside, we look
at what he hasn't done, but players are looking at
skill set and things like that, and they're like, man,
this guy can do it all. And they know that
it's not just one guy that's going to carry a team.
We do see guys like Patrick Mahomes and you know,

(31:25):
elevate his team to new heights and play beyond what
it looks like the their limitations are, and so Josh
Allen has got to prove that he can do that.
But around the league, everybody looks at him and says, hey,
if it had to be somebody other than Mahomes or
or Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen is definitely the guy who's
got everything could ask for in a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (31:47):
All right, Well ask Mike john Thank you man, appreciate,

Speaker 4 (32:42):
We did a fun with last hour. It was your jingles.
It was the one Gotta Go edition. We did jo jingles.
We all agree, Well, Rob G didn't agree, but you
were outnumbered that Uh, which one has to go?

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Dubaye dubaye bye to Dubai. You say hello and I
say duba.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
We all said dubaie to it. Yeah, it had to go.
It had to go. But this one, we're gonna mix
it up a little bit. This one is social media,
Rob G. Beginning, folks in trouble, breaking.

Speaker 1 (33:09):
Down, then even number.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Figure it out. That's right.

Speaker 9 (33:19):
Social media has been a problem all week and basically
for all of existence, for athletes and freaking the locker rooms.
Just this week, Antonio Peers alienated his best player with
a simple ig like, you know, we've had situations where,
you know, a certain Golden State Warriors player may or
may not have snapchat in his genitalia and said he
got hacked.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Oh my. You know, there's just a lot of different things.
So here's the question.

Speaker 9 (33:42):
If you ran a professional yes, a professional sports locker room.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
You're in charge.

Speaker 9 (33:49):
One of these social media outlets has to go Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat,
or the Rob Parker special play led podcasts.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
Oh we know his answer, so you go last, Rob
Kay Devils start with.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
You're trying to say I'm predictable. No, well, we just
know this one is you did. We just heard you
screaming during the provo about it was up me screaming
that was going crazy. This one for me, Rober, you actually.

Speaker 4 (34:16):
Had to put a lot of thought to it because
I think people's initial reaction maybe Snapchat because it's like
because you mentioned people putting out you know, you think
you're sending in something to your lady or whatever you're going,
and somehow you click everybody and you have an issue.
And we haven't seen too many issues aside from your boys,
Shannon Sharp going I'm sorry. I didn't know I was live.
I'd never been live before. I didn't know Michelle. So

(34:38):
aside from Michelle and Shake Sharp going live, I think
Instagram is pretty safe.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
I think it's it's okay. Mine is gonna be Twitter.

Speaker 4 (34:45):
And the reason it's Twitter is because with Instagram typically
it's a post and you know it's there and you
see it all that. You know, if you don't like it,
maybe you posted whatever, you can delete. It's just like
it's there. So that was a picture of me or
video hanging out Twitter, you kind of forget right and
it's usually in a Twitter passion. You're watching the debates
president vice presidential debate. You're going crazy. It's a game.

(35:06):
You're going crazy, and it might last there that you
said something. And we see all the time these celebrities,
these players said something before they get drafted. He said this.
This sounded racist, This was misogynistic. This was that.

Speaker 2 (35:17):
I think Twitter gets to most people in trouble every
single draft.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
I gotta see this kid who said something when he
was sixteen and it comes back up.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
So Twitter is my answer.

Speaker 9 (35:26):
I'm going last, I thought, no, Rob, you're the start
of the show. Come on, your name's of the Marquis.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
All right, Well, I was gonna say Twitter, because you
know I have a song for Twitter. We kept it, Yes,
but I'm going to say the player podcasts. I think
the player podcasts are just ridiculous. Like you have a
short window to play sports. I understand you want to
get into the media when your career. Just be an athlete,

(35:52):
be a player, get that done right, and don't have
on like they're all kinds of issues now where they're
inviting a home it's on their podcasts, and teammates are like,
what what is that you have an issue?

Speaker 4 (36:04):
If it's during sea Like, let's say I'm talking about
nexting them, I'm off season and my summer.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
I want to have a podcast.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
You can do whatever you want to off see that
I'm talking about during the season.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
I would rather you focus in on your job.

Speaker 1 (36:15):
That's it. And it's not like I'm not trying to
silence you. I just think that it does sound like
we just heard your screaming it. No, it just doesn't
make any It doesn't make any sense to me to
have Draymond Green running home after a playoff game so
it's hotel room to do a podcast.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
It just doesn't to infuriate the other team. That doesn't
make sense to me.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
The only thing I'll say, you talk to a lot
of players, they tell you more to the contrary to
what fans believe, we have a lot of downtime. Right,
we got a quick practice at team. We're done at
eleven thirty. We come back at three and they're like,
I got a lot of downtime, So instead of playing
Call of Duty, if they do it, no podcast, Yeah,
I mean, I'm telling you their mindset. If I'm just
gonna do a forty five minute podcast in my hotel room,

(36:55):
what's the big deal?

Speaker 2 (36:56):
That's their mind So the big.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Deal is that you're calling out some guy on the
other and starting something that's.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
Man friends Anyway, they all go play hang out a Alex,
what you got?

Speaker 5 (37:07):
I don't know, Rob, Like, I feel like that's kind
of misconskewed though, because I like the fact that I
know they're at home doing a show, being authentic, showing
me their side of their beliefs, rather than just social media. Like,
I think that's a good expression for anybody. I think
everybody truly should have a podcast. If nobody listens, at
least you're talking out loud about stuff. It's a pro
say that last part. Everybody don't need a microphone. That's
the point though. I Mean, we could say a lot

(37:27):
of people don't need a lot of things we got
going on, But if you said social media, I'll say Instagram.
For a simple reason, there are way too many things
going on on Instagram from a different perspective people don't
know about, and Kanye West said it best. Instagram got job.
It's just a dark place where it's basically a hookup
social media platform where the it's just it's a bad
place to be if you're an athlete because you can
get into some deep trouble in that appen.

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Tender Tender looking at you right now, like, what's wrong
with me? Oh, that's fine, Tender, We know what's going
on there.

Speaker 9 (37:53):
It looks like all of these are staying because we're
split my most for Snapchat. Only one of these, as
far as I know, has had X rated content published
to the masses more than once.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
By the way, you got a chap chop.

Speaker 9 (38:06):
Yes, we've had two players in the Western commerce alone.
I mean you got one who allegedly you know, is
a multiple time NBA championship in gold and Stay. The
other one a one time champ who just got re
upped by the Denver Nuggets. I'm not gonna talk about
their names because it's private, but we've seen it.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Tula's value. We'll talk about it next
