Rob Parker kelvin Washington, hanging out with you on the
Magic City Monday.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
We doubt, no doubt, Elijah, whatever, Elijah, what do you.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Want me to do? Not eat Dodger dogs. I gotta
you can't crap on the team all day and then
eat a Dodger dog.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I gotta reel the Dodger dog though. Mineus one hundred
percent beef. I don't eat the other one.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
They got beef with you.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
That's okay, all right, That's why it's one one and
going back to New York and Ferris buellis pitching Game
three for the Dodgers. I'm just saying, all right, we're
broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios. Tyro
rack dot Com will help you get there. Unmatched election,

(01:19):
tire buying should be. Don't forget coming up in about
twenty eight minutes, Rod Woods in the Hall of Famer
and Fox Sports Radio NFL.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Analysts. So we're looking forward to that.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
And you know he does the Ravens, Yeah games, he's
a color analyst on radio, and they'll be good to
be able to talk more about the Ravens who started
zero to two, and me and you, despite it, agreed,
Ye at least he still thought, Hey, they're gonna turn
it around and they're gonna wind up being the best team.
We think they're the best team in the league. We
agree on that. We don't agree on a lot, but

(01:52):
we agree on that.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
But one guy, if you didn't watch him play Lamar Jackson,
I mean, he literally is Superman at this point. I
don't know if there's anyone, I mean, if Tyreek Hill's
going with Tua, maybe, but I don't know if there's
anyone more spectacular to watch, just because at any given moment,
he is going to do something that is amazing to witness.
And so you mentioned they started out oh two, Now

(02:15):
they've won four straight. They look great, and it's like
the old Tupac song, how do you want it?

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Right?

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Lamar Jackson's rush for over four hundred yards two scores
already this season number two all time now rushing for
a quarterback, which is incredible.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
He's averaging more than six yards of carry.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Then six yards a carry is ridiculous crazy, by the way,
the scary part if you're going up against the Ravens,
you know it was almost averaging six yards himself, Derrick Henry.

Speaker 5 (02:44):
So it's like, how do you want it? Like I
said with the Tupac song, what am I supposed to do?
But then let's go to the park Rod Parker where
people like to say for the last few seasons, Yeah,
he just can't pass. He just can't pass well. He's
currently averaging the highest passing yards per game his career,
two hundred and fifty five. He's also the fifth in
the NFL and QBR, fourth in raw QBR ready, fourth
in passing yards, fifth in touchdown passes to five, and

(03:07):
number one in first down percentage. So he is just
absolutely it's become video games circa two thousand and two.
Two thousand and three, Mike Vick when you play with
him on Madden, where your friends will say, no, you
can't play with him. It's not fair. But that's what
Lamar Jackson has become. And the only thing that I
would say, I'm still he still can improve and right,
every single person can improve on something. He still needs

(03:30):
to knock down those three foot putts. That's the only thing,
meaning those couple of easy passes a guy maybe he's
flanked out to the left, he's wide open, sometimes still
under or overthrows him. So there's still that to be
left to be desired. But he looks ridiculous, and I
can't be you know what I mat at the entire NFL.
How did y'all let this man team up with Derrick Henry?

(03:52):
How did y'all let him get you see what he
does with no backs because all of the backs were
hurt last year. Now you give him arguably the he
best backed the last five.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Six and he looks with Juventor, he looks great. And
here's the other thing too. You talked about it. Lamar
Jackson is throwing for six hundred and seventy one yards
the last two games.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
It's not just him, just all.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Running right, and oh, well, you don't know who's gonna
run as a him, Derek.

Speaker 5 (04:16):
No, he's throwing a football, throwing it and his had
Zay Flowers looking great, had a career yard one hundred
plus yards for him. He's got some weapons, obviously, you
know how they got the tight ends anders En. Likely
they're just a scary team. This is why you and
I have agreed they're just the best team because I
can come into a game with them, no matter the opponent,
and know what I'm getting, right, I know what I'm getting.

(04:38):
The defense can continue to tighten up a little bit,
but I like what I'm getting. I know what Lamar
is gonna do. I know what Derrick Henry and let
the chips fall where they may, you know what I mean.
Whereas other teams, I don't know what I'm getting from
the Bills, and I think Kansas City Chiefs, I don't
think that.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
I don't know is the offense gonna ball out.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
There's a few teams where you're like, I like him,
but with the Ravens, you know what you're getting. And
I like that in my teams where I walk into
it knowing I got a fighting chance because we're gonna.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Do X Y and Z night in night out here.
Here's my thing. I think it's totally and I get it.
We're in this world where you know, if you don't
win a championship, you're not validated.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
And this is okay, by the way, I hate that,
and I'm gonna say why. It has its place, But
we've gotten carried away.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
We totally carried away. And this is what they do
with Lamar Jackson. Okay, like even now, well, no matter
what he does, oh, he didn't won a championship. Well,
it wasn't that long ago that damn Marino that people
were saying that Dann Marino was the go the best
quarterback they'd ever seen.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
And he didn't win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
In fact, he went to a Super Bowl his second
year and never went back. But nobody held it against
Dan Marino. Could you saw what kind of player. Here's
a tremendous quarterback. Okay, we cannot totally discount or pooh
poo his career and other guys who never wanted. Everybody
can't win a championship. And I'm just mean can't from

(06:00):
the standpoint that.

Speaker 5 (06:01):
It takes a whole lot of people like basketball, if
you're that great, you can control it a bit more
because there's only five five guys.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
You played both sides of the right football.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
You could be great offensively and your defense gives it
up or whatever.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
You're the most amazing defensive player ever, but your JI
team can never.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
See you a bad head coach that whatever it is.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
There's a lot of stuff, But in my case, I
don't know how you could watch Lamar Jackson, watch him
play and not think that this guy will get it
figured out.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
And will win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
So he don't feel like that guy to me where
it's like, well put up the number, but he'll never win.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
I'm trying to tell you.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
When I covered Michael Jordan in this early days, remember
it took seven years, right, there were people said that
about Michael Jordan. Oh he's a great player.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
It' scoring sixty three points against the Celtics. Whatever. He
don't make his teammates better and he can win all again,
all the stuff and dunk contest and all that stuff,
but he's not gonna win a championship. That's what they
thought about Michael Jordan. I'm not saying Lamar is Michael Jordan.
I'm just saying, be careful with painting a guy with

(07:13):
that kind of brush.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
If I would love to hear from you.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Are you still using that crutch after watching this guy's
won two m vps, right, almost too unanimous one by
one vote that he didn't and he's on track. How
in the world is uh Mahomes ahead of him and
the MVP because Mahomes is not having an.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
M yeah reputation and just you what am I right?

Speaker 5 (07:38):
I mean like Lamar is Lamar infinite? Then Lamar then
then Uh then Patrick Mahomes. That's what out of doubt
And Patrick Mahomes would say that too. That's one thing
I like about him. He's you know, he's admitted that
He's like, I'm just keep working on my fundamentals every day,
trying to get right. He's not acting like he's not
sugarcoating or acting like he's just been amazing and he's
credited the defense. So shout out to Patrick Mahomes for
doing that, not acting like I don't see any I

(08:00):
don't know how good I you. He's like, yo, I'm
not I'm struggling a little bit right now. Well, you
know what a couple of points. I want to make
people listen. Let me look at this camera for Elijah.
I know sports debate shows Rob and I get into
it and have a little fun. Sometimes it's okay to
just appreciate greatness. It's okay, it's okay to just be

(08:21):
like wow, Lamar Jackson is fantastic. And I love the
fact that I get to watch him for three three
and a half hours, watches the.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
Guy play watch him like you don't have two ways? Well,
he didn't do that, Well, he didn't do that.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
You know, he hasn't been Patrick Mahomes, I get there,
my chips and Guaker, my popcorn said this boy is
good and it's okay to enjoy it, and we'll get there.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
We'll have the conversation and those whole career.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
And he never wins, then you could use that, But
to just use that every time he does something great
to go well, But he never won a super Bowl
or he never got through the thing. I'll say I
say that to about a lot of players. We talked
about it before. Jason Tatum in the same out.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
He never wonted. I just don't trust him.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
He never won a super Bowl championship and guess what
they did this year the joker.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Yeah, you can win all the envy. Yeah, but you
gotta win to win. What do you do?

Speaker 5 (09:11):
I mean Lebron believe I know people were tired of
it now because he's went, he's won a bunch and
he's gone so many times, but until he had to
win one, right, and so you have to do that.
I do think it's a compliment when you reach that
air where we say, well, you haven't won it, because
that's a cop because basically we were saying, man, you've
been dominating so long, winning MVPs, winning you know, awards,
putting up stats, getting to the postseason, but not getting

(09:34):
far enough. So it's a backhanded compliment that we're saying, well,
you can't win the big one, because all that says
is you keep showing up, getting to big games and
games that matter, games that count, primetime games, but you
gotta win it. But I will say what I've been
watching is a slight parallel to It reminds me of
Peyton Manning, who eventually, of course would win a couple,
but it took him a minute to get there because

(09:55):
he couldn't beat Brady. And I do see a little
bit he was winning MVP. He's putting up crazy breaking
records and it kind of does remind me at times
a little bit of Lamar Jackson and also Patrick Mahomes
kind of be in the new era two point zero
of Manning and Brady, these stars that are the best
quarterbacks in their position, best quarterbacks for a decade then

(10:17):
a generation, but one can't quite beat the other one yet.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
So we'll see what happens later on this season.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
But man, I just enjoyed Lamar Jackson, and I think
it's a shame that we've gotten so debate crazy, even
politically right. You can't have a nuanced conversation. It's gotta
be Trump's the worst ever, no Kamla hater, I've never
It's like whoa. Everything is so divisive. Lamar Jackson is fun,
he's talented, he's great, and I think it's okay to
just embrace.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
It's okay that fans want him to win and.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
It should eventually hold it, but hold them accountable right
to win, and I get that. I'm not saying that
we're giving him a pass, but we're in this throes
of a regular season. He can't do anything about that. Yes,
season until he gets there yet, and you can't always
keep rolling that out no matter what. Look at, this
guy's a chance to win a third. He won already

(11:06):
two MVPs, younger than anybody, and he got a chance
to win a third.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
I mean.

Speaker 7 (11:11):
Too.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Unless Jayden Daniels or CJ. Stroud just go crazy and
you know, for like a ten straight games of three
hundred plus yards, three touchdowns, something crazy, it's his to lose.
Because the thing about Lamar, give me a pen I
can piner pencil this end. Lamar Jackson two hundred yards
passing minimum, seventy five rushing, five spectacular plays, and two

(11:37):
touchdowns every single game. There's not a lot of guys
I can do that for right now in this NFL,
you know what I mean. Where I'm two two fifties passing,
maybe a touchdown, maybe one hundred rushing in a touchdown,
let me just start there, and three highlights that'll be
top three plays on a sports center. So he's just
that spectacular that I just enjoy watching him, and I think,

(11:58):
and that's why you again you and with that running game,
the way he makes plays, that's why they're the best
team to me right now, because I know going in
and that's why I'm big on the Lions because I
know what I'm getting from those two teams. All Right,
this is what they do night in, night out. They
have an identity and I like that in my teams.
Pick the sport, it doesn't matter. I like knowing win
lo's a draw. This is what we do. This is

(12:19):
how we get down and this is what I can expect.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Yeah, I mean, if you're watching him, how can you
not embrace this guy? And I'm just talking about as
watching a player, that's all we're not talking about it's
your favorite team or anything.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
I see.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
When I watched this guy play, I know I'm watching
a difference maker.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
I got a doubt last year.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
He didn't have the greatest stats either, but you have
to look at him bigger than that, broader than that,
and now with Derek.

Speaker 5 (12:45):
Henry, that is just treacherous. If you're a defense all right,
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Has your opinion
of Lamar Jackson chained so far this season or will
you still hold the postseason shortcomings against him?

Speaker 2 (12:59):
That's really what we're asking. Have you changed your mind.

Speaker 1 (13:02):
And looked at this guy who could possibly win a
third MVP and what is he? Twenty seven Rob g
third MVP?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
What's crazy? Which is crazy?

Speaker 5 (13:10):
It feels like we've been talking about Lamar Jackson at
least twenty two years. It's crazy like he went to
high school with me or something.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
So eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
We'll take your phone calls.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
It is the Odd Couple on a Magic City Monday,
Rob Parker kelvin Washington, right here on Fox Sports Radio.
You know what you need to do. It's uh stick and.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
Stay unless you're a Lamar Jackson. Hey, THESFA.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
Three three points for the Jets opening drive there, but
you got to put up touchdown. I told you they
bet not only come away with a field, go after
a good opening drive like that. Yeah, drop pass, Reese
Hall and a pass was catching. No, without a doubt.
It's a you should have but it wasn't the easiest,
but you should have caught it. Fox Sports Radio. The
Odd Couple Rob Parker and Kelvin Washington coming to you

(14:09):

Speaker 5 (14:32):
We are having a conversation about Lamar Jackson, how spectacular
he is, Robin, how folks still might be a few
little haters out there, a few folks who want to
just say, well, I've seen it before. I just want
to see what it is in the postseason.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Right, That's what we hear a lot just joining us
baseball game in the Bronx, no score, top of the third, right,
top of third. The Yankees have four hits in the
first two winnings, but no runs. I've been able to
play the run, but they have four hits. Cleveland has
a hit in this game and earlier the Mets bounced
back when the seven three went over the Dodgers after

(15:05):
getting skunked nine to nothing in Game one in LA
and as Kelvin said, thweet nothing Jets on their first possession.
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine. On Fox, Let's
start with who's that Arthur in Texas? You're on the
odd couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
What's up? Author?

Speaker 6 (15:23):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 8 (15:24):
Rob?

Speaker 2 (15:26):
What's up?

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Man?

Speaker 8 (15:28):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (15:28):
What I wanted to say about that that was that
Lamar been the best quarterback to me and getting the
last three or four years, he's been the best quarterback
in the league.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
That's not crazy, that's not crazy enough.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
Reason reason being, he has something. Rob compared them to
Michael Jordan's. Michael Jordan had something that a lot of
the other players didn't have when he came into the
and that's the same way Lamar is. Nobody can stop
that ruin that he does.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
No, he's got a gift, and now he's putting together
the other stuff of passing the football, and and he's
now got Dereck Henry in the backfield with him too.
I mean, like, like, that's why I think he's where
he is. What a chance to win another MVP and
where obviously we're only in the what week five or six?

Speaker 2 (16:26):
What is this week? We're going in two week six, right,
you know what I mean, it's still early to go.
But they started off zero and two and look at
where he is.

Speaker 1 (16:34):
We just talked about a six hundred and seventy one
yards passing the last two games. Uh, Jake in Kansas,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
What's up? Jake? From What's how are you you mean?
State farm? State farm? What's up?

Speaker 9 (16:50):
Jack?

Speaker 7 (16:51):
If I haven't heard that, I know.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Jake, you're like enough with the state farm? Right, tell
he's a whole demeter changed. But but but I did
like the like the original commercial was like what are
you doing?

Speaker 2 (17:02):
What are you wearing? Kakis? Yes, that was a good commercial.
She sounds hideous?

Speaker 7 (17:07):
Yeah, uh no, Man, he's about to be Lamar Jackson.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
He's about to be the only quarterback to get more
MVPs than playoff wins in history.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
But all right, let me ask you this, Jake, Okay,
do you really think that he's not gonna win a
super I'm just saying, I'm just asking you.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
If we're doing forward watching this guy play, do you
hardly believe he won one? Are you saying?

Speaker 7 (17:29):
Ever? Danno?

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (17:33):
He's gonna win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
He's got as many playoff wins as Tony Romo.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
Wow, I just can't.

Speaker 5 (17:39):
But he's twenty seven. By the way, you ain't got
another decade. This guy's gonna play longer than he's already played.
Like I would totally be with if you with thirty two,
thirty three, Like if you said that about Aaron Rodgers,
get it. At this point, he's thirty thirty nine, probably
has two three more years, I'd be like, I get it.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
I'm with you.

Speaker 5 (17:54):
You even said about Russell Wilson Brothers twenty seven in
amazing shape, doesn't take a lot of hits, considering you
run so much. And he's got a team, an entire
franchise that puts everything on like they had whatever he
needs to succeed, let's do it, well, change it.

Speaker 1 (18:12):
Looking at the Cowboys, right, could have had Henry derrih
Henry and they didn't get it.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
And what they went out and.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
Got to be fun to block. That was about Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Which was great is that they looked at it and realized, hey,
we're gonna get back to running, because that's not what
they did in the AFC Championship game, they went away
from running and they went out and got a running back.
They didn't gonna get over with him, a wide receiver. No,
they got a meat and potatoes running back yep, which

(18:42):
I love.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Which, by the way, he's got incredible breakout speed to
be the size of an extra large refrigerator.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Oh big time.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
We took a picture with him and interviewed him right
in Miami.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
And it's funny if I find a picture. Yeah, you know,
I'm a little bit better than him. You know what
I'm saying. You might be an taller No, no, no, what
do you see this picture? Chris is almost close to me.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
You know, we have a picture of that just just
really puts in perspective how massive he is. Most defensive
backs in the NFL are my size, like they most
of them my size.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Well, but you know that even when you look at
the dbs, when you you're like, these dudes are so little,
no wonder.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
And that's shut up. Okay.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
I was just said it my side, and you're saying
so little when you see this picture of me standing
next to Megatron, utterly ridiculous, Like how am I guarding this?

Speaker 1 (19:28):
This makes no sense? That's what it is all right.
One more Leo in New York City. You're in the
odd couple. Fox Sports Radio, the mecca of sports. Tonight,
the Jets's in the game and the Yankees hosting the game.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
What's up.

Speaker 9 (19:43):
My trial? First off, for you get a joke. You
know when you started that is se seventy if I
wire get you in the subway, if it's ninety.

Speaker 5 (19:52):
Yeah, I told him it's no. I ain't even in
New York and I told him I thought it.

Speaker 9 (19:58):
Was sc Okay, Kevin tried to tell you, but you
know this.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
When I buy mine, I don't buy a single ride.
You get a discount of you buy a card. Am
I right or wrong?

Speaker 2 (20:12):
Leon?

Speaker 9 (20:14):
I mean sure you got a disc when you're playing Wikier?

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Okay, yes, okay.

Speaker 5 (20:17):
You know you know he won't give up without a fight,
you know, to fight what you got.

Speaker 9 (20:25):
Well, well, when it comes to Lamar, I mean two
weeks ago you came here suddenly a soap box and
talked about how Josh Allen is dead to you. He
had to pay a minute a minute?

Speaker 2 (20:38):
What an how many m v ps does Josh Allen have?
I'm just stopping, how many? How many m vps? No, no,
he has none. He has none, and that's the difference.

Speaker 7 (20:47):
But that's my thing.

Speaker 9 (20:49):
So right now, we shouldn't talk about the regular season
when it comes to Lamar.

Speaker 7 (20:53):
We should ask it back enjoying.

Speaker 9 (20:55):
Him playing the regular season and wait for him to
see what he does in the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
I'm not a leo. I'm not accepting that. Okay, Why
is it different for you?

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Because you can't take a player who's gonna win three
MVPs to somebody who not won one.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
It's not the same.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
And my point is you're just you can look at
Josh Allen and hold it against him because he hasn't
performed right, but he hadn't won in the MVPs, he
hadn't done any of that.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
You're looking at an.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
All time great in Lamar, an all time great, and
that's all I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (21:25):
You might be looking at all time great Yankee home
run there too. Who was that was that Stanton? Who
was that Soto?

Speaker 1 (21:30):
He's unbelievable. Yeah, you see that guy holding up to
check with six hundred dollars on.

Speaker 3 (21:35):

Speaker 5 (21:47):
All right, thank you, Steve, and you see what just
happened right there right Buffalo gets a touchdown one yard
run from Josh Allen. And that's what I told you.
You have to score touchdown. You can't go down here.
It was fourth and four on the Buffalo's twenty. You
better go for that the quarter. Dude, you're not going yes,
you are. Well, you know what I can answer that stop.
Rod Woodson can answer that company alive from the tire

(22:07):
rack dot Com studios.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
It's the first quarter Hall of Fame dB.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
Fox Sports Radio NFL analyst Rod, you know what it is.
Sometimes you got to go for it, and you know
you're at you're at home. Great drive to get down
at the twenty, get some point. We will go and foe,
get some cahunas and go for it.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Man up.

Speaker 7 (22:25):
You know, since I've been a coach before, I don't
know if I would have went for it that early.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Thank you, Rod, Would I tell you what's gonna happen?

Speaker 7 (22:32):
I would have picked my point now if if I
was not saying for the first place, and we're just
losing names and we had nothing to lose, right.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Rod, you if you didn't, thank you, Roger playing fearless.
Don't be getting I'll get all of a sudden. No,
he want to get out, Rod, I want the rock.

Speaker 5 (22:50):
He was on the field fearless, roun No, No, he's
making to Remember I said they're gonna lose because of that, and.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
And remember this, Rod, that's why Brandon Staley got one out.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Out of the Chargers. Am I right?

Speaker 1 (23:03):
Not taking field easily for way too many, way too
many times. All right, let's go here. Lamar is just
balling out. I mean six hundred and seventy one passing yards.
He's in the top five and a lot of passing
categories with quarterback.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
We know what he can do with his legs.

Speaker 7 (23:20):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (23:20):
They started out owing to They could have won those
first two games too, They really could have.

Speaker 2 (23:25):
They're playing really well and they're beating really good teams.
Talk about Lamar and his progression.

Speaker 7 (23:32):
So think about what Lamar has he had to do
since he's been the starting quarterback for the Baltimore even so,
he had to be the leading passer and for the
most part, he had to be the leading rusher. And
now you bring in Derrick Henry and Derrick Henry is
a leading rusher, and Lamar has to run when he
has to run, right, it's not like it's not like

(23:53):
a must so for him. But he can now deliver
the football. He can still he makes he still makes
this with the seat right, but he can now deliver
the football to his playmakers. And what I really love
about what the Ravens are doing. They're so versatile. They'll
get in their twenty three package, they'll get in their
twenty two package, they'll get in their twelve package. They'll

(24:14):
get heavy, they'll be condensed, they'll run, they'll play pass
out of it, they'll run sweeps out of it. How
many times? How many? How do we see the cracksweep anymore? Right?
Not until you play the Ravens, Right, you better get
ready for it because it's coming downhill with a guy
that six three, two hundred and forty five pounds second roll.

(24:36):
So I think Derrick Henry's taking a lot of pressure
off Lamar to keep it real. And I think Lamar
has benefited been able to well that he gets ball
and he's been delivering strikes to everybody across the field,
tight ends, running backs, receivers, alike.

Speaker 5 (24:53):
Yeah, Rob Woodson our guest Hall of Fame dB, Fox
Sports Radio, NFL anal ASTs. You can get at him
on Rod Woodson twenty six on what are uh? So
let's let's let's we we have been singing this praise.
It's pretty much no man, nobody knows X.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
You know what I mean? Say? They say what Who's
Who's X? They want to put you out there? But
she didn't.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
She had to hit you back to Bex. We'll talk
about it later, Rob. All right, So Rod, let me
let me throw this at you. So Rob Parker and
I have discussed how the Ravens are there. Both of
us believe the best team in the NFL. You can
argue one or two other teams are right there, and
I have no problem with that.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
I look at this AFC and I'm saying, is it
the Stealers?

Speaker 5 (25:33):
Is it the obviously the Chiefs are kind of their
nemesis and the kind of that big boogiey man that
can't get past?

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Is it the Texans?

Speaker 5 (25:40):
Who do you look at and say, Man, if there's
anybody who can really give Lamar and the Ravens some trouble,
it is this team X.

Speaker 7 (25:47):
Who's that I think it's going to be the Chiefs
because they have I'm going to get the Chiefs in
the past with Patrick Mahomes, with Lamar Jackson, right, And
I think they can beat the Steelers. I believe, so
I believe they can be the Seris. I believe they
can beat the Textan. I think they're better football team
than them. Even though the Texans are playing really good
football and the Steelers are playing He's in football, really

(26:11):
good football. Defense offense has been sporadic, right, I think
the best team obviously so far in the record wise,
and the Chiefs. They go back and watch that game
that first game of the year, the Ravens had opportunity
to win even though they played terrible football in that game.
They were still learning how to play with Derrick Henry

(26:34):
and how the Sophints is going to look moving forward,
and then Zach Gore was still trying to figure out
what type of defense he was going to happen, how
he was going to call the game because he's never
really called the game. So I think mac dean te
board for Zach Gore is going to help the defense tremendously,
and it did because they didn't give up a lot
of big plays in the passing game like in the

(26:55):
previous week. So if that's the indication that DNPS is
going to help with this secondary and the pass coverage,
not just the second but line Packers also. If that's
the case, they keep moving forward, they will be their
best team in AFC. Will they have the number one seed?
I don't. I don't think the I don't think NFC
West is that good this year, but they will be.

(27:17):
They'll be that team the first seeds. They'll I think
it'll be Kansas City and then playing again trying to
get back to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Hey, Ron, let's go here.

Speaker 1 (27:27):
The Dallas Cowboys, and most people aren't crying, but it
has been horrendous since that postseason loss to the Packers.
They've given up one hundred and sixty seven points in
their last four home games.

Speaker 2 (27:41):
And in those games, you ready for this.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Concluding that Packers loss, I'm talking about the Cowboys have
been out scored in the first half one ten to
thirty five.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
What do you what do you make of what that?

Speaker 7 (27:53):
It's surprising because Mike Zimmer is such a good coach.
SuDS in the past, right defensive of all, always played solid,
good football, and it's not happening with the Cowboys.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
And I.

Speaker 7 (28:08):
Just think, is it a culture thing? I'm not sure.
I've never been in the locker room, right, I don't
know anybody that's in the locker room. But it's something.
It's something that they just can't get together. You know
what the problem I really have. Why aren't we keep
talking about this is the only bad team that we
talk about in the national We talk about.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
All the time. And I totally agree they get way
too well.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
You brought it up to bring it up, No, but
you got to bring it up when it's that bad,
because Rod, I mean, it's one thing to lose. Remember
before this four game losing streak, they won sixteen straight
at home.

Speaker 7 (28:46):
Right, something's gone. I mean, yes, you're right. They normally
played really well in September at home and this year
they're not. And this year they just they it's just
something not clicking in And I don't like the way.
And I don't know how Ceedee Lamb relationship with Ceedee
Lamb and Dak is, but man, some of it looks

(29:06):
at Ceedee Lamb gives back and it looks like they
want to fight.

Speaker 5 (29:10):
Yeah, yeah, they got some and off. Yeah, one man,
they're apologizing to each other, the next to not rot. Hey, yeah,
real quick, we'll let you go on this one. The
team we should have discussed the Detroit Lions. Aiden Hutchison
goes down, obviously, they're maybe that maybe their best player period.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
Real quick? What do you do? Do you just depend
on that d line or do you think they go
out and get somebody.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
There's rumors that maybe the Raiders will do something with
Crosby and bring him back he went to my school,
Eastern Michigan or saying come back home to Michigan.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
What do you think happens?

Speaker 7 (29:40):
I don't think that. I don't think he go out
and spend some first round clastics to get Crosby in there.
I mean, it'd be a great addition because eventually Hutcherson
will come back, right, So it'd be a great addition.
I just don't think that needs to be the case.
Can he play this year? You really don't know. I
remember would Charles Woodson? I don't. He didn't break both

(30:02):
of them, but he brought He did break his tibula,
and he came back and played in the Super Bowl,
So I don't know. Breaking both the bones you can
come back.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
He's out for the year.

Speaker 7 (30:12):
I mean said, but the year is record talk about.
So you never know. If the guy heals fast and
give him opportunity, it will be a loss for them.
But we know what I love about those guys. They're nasty.
They get after you run game past game. And Jared
Golf you know, I don't think he's a great quarterback,

(30:34):
but he fits that system. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:37):
And even even when he was with the Rams, and
I know we gotta run.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
I mean they had one of the fifth the fifth
greatest offense when they had him, when they went to
that Super Bowl you remember against the New England and
then Bill Belichick saw me Dad. I mean they they
have one field goal in that game, if you remember.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
And that what we all we all know for the
half time show because that was so boring. Rod, thank
you so much us. We appreciate it.

Speaker 7 (31:01):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Man.

Speaker 5 (31:02):
All Right, there's somebody who, uh, you know, you go
to college is usually four years, maybe a fifth year.
We all heard of six years seniors. What about eight years?
We'll explain it is Rob Parker Kelvin Washington. It's the
odd couple.

about this song right here left like just being in Atlanta,
like six to eight months before it made its way
up north to all the other cities. What a time
to be alive with the whole snap movement there in Atlanta,
Fox Sports Radio, The Odd Couple, Rob Parker, Kevina Washington.
We got a couple of good games going on. It's
Stuart Joined now Baseball, Yankees, Guardians, we got some good football.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
The city of New York. I don't know that was
at New Jersey.

Speaker 5 (31:55):
I guess where the Jets actually plays the technically New Jersey,
but you know what I mean, the New York Jets.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
It's the same like the cities. You know that, all right?

Speaker 1 (32:01):
And the only thing is New Jersey is only like
the stadium is like six miles away, right Like it's
oh yeah, if.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
You've ever been to New York, it's not. It's literally
just across a couple bridges and you're right there. For

that good stuff, so make sure you reach out and
follow that.

Speaker 2 (32:44):
All right, So I wanted to throw this at you. Listen.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
You know there's been like Super Seniors, right, you got
guys who get red shirted or because of injuries they
play another year. So then there's like, all right, this
is this is absolutely gone a little bit too far.
So there's a there's a kid who where's my uh,
where's my thing here?

Speaker 6 (33:04):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (33:05):
Robb ge set this up. I try to pull it
up and I just forget my phone. Will just mess
bad worry.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
That's what I'm here for. That is what creation is.
Like this, you're talking about Utah quarterback Cam Rising, Yes,
who has been a big time favorite. People have liked him.

Speaker 5 (33:18):
He's had he's had great season when he plays, but
the issue is he ain't played a lot.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
That's right. He is a you're a super senior. He's
a super duper, duper duper senior.

Speaker 8 (33:28):
He's in his seventh year of college football and us
he's only played or three games this season.

Speaker 2 (33:34):
Do do various injuries?

Speaker 8 (33:36):
Well, unfortunately in his most recent game he got hurt
again and they're saying this one potentially, they're still doing testing,
could be another season ending injury. Well, when your season
gets cut short like that, you're able to apply for
what's called a medical red shirt waiver.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
As a result, Cam.

Speaker 8 (33:56):
Rising could potentially, if he's out for the year and
he gets his way return next season for an eighth
year of college football.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
That's ridiculous. And he's on the campus with all these
kids and he's getting his doctorate, you know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (34:11):
Yeah, this is this is crazy because at a certain point,
it's like, all right now, this is almost becoming not
even fair, right because you got to think there's some
kids a grown campus to seventeen, right, because that would
have been me depending on the day when schools started
late birthday from me August twenty third, So I could
have been seventeen on a college campus. He's walking around

(34:32):
old as heck, he's gone voted twice getting his doctor degree.
Like how many years I fully get when you're injured,
when your red shirt things happen. But maybe six is
as far as we should go. Like if I got
to put a number on it, you can play college
football longer than you can be the president of the
United States, Is that what you're telling me? You only
get eight turn you get two terms eight years if

(34:54):
you want to be the president, you can play college
football longer than.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
That, and he'll be twenty six at the start of
next college football sick. That's just wild. That is Chris
Winky even run around somewhere, like, all right, now, you
got to settle down somewhere, right, Chris Winky. That was ridiculous.
That was ridiculous too.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Unless there's some reason like us Winky, if he was
playing today right, would get ni O money, uh, social
Security and his pension all at one time.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
That one, that one, that was a good one. I'll
give you that one.

Speaker 5 (35:22):
Yeah, they gotta be at some point, there's got to
be a cap on this because, all right, Rob G,
here's the challenge. Clearly he's injury prone. What if he
gets injured during spring football? Does he get another year?
I'd have to look it up.

Speaker 8 (35:37):
I don't know if there's a rule with how many
you can apply for, but the fact that this would
be his third medical red shirt season, I'm assuming it
goes on indefinitely.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
But my thing is, why are you still playing Let's
let the kids play like up man? Why are you
still hosting radio at age sixty? Let the kids? You
know what I'm saying, He's got a dream, You got
a dream.

Speaker 7 (36:01):
I ain't gonna lie.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
Rock clucking man. He sniper that one. You gotta come
out wait a minute.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Miles later in this one, I got to hold on, wait,
hold on, I got to This is Rob G's knocking
you out right now, you snagger, Come on, Rob right
back ageism.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
You're telling that that's exciting, that that's his source of income.

Speaker 3 (36:22):
Role.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
But the difference is one is a college age and
I'm not like I'm ninety years old still doing a
radio show or something depicable.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
He's saying, that's what he's saying, That's what you're trying
to do, Am I calling you what he page? Yeah,
so you or Bob Ryan. Bob Bob Ryan looks like
George Washington. Now, I mean Rob Ryan.

Speaker 5 (36:46):
Was somewhere mind of those own business catching shres, saying
like I'm a young sixty Yeah, but you.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Are stealing from some young thirty you know, KB. It's
okaycause both those guys have been on our show and
they're cool. They're friends.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
I think even they know on Tell I know they're
still catching you know what I mean? But Rob, yeah,
you are still on a young thirty year old job.
I just want to throw it out.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
No, I'm not what are you stealing? I'm still young
out here.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
I'm just saying there's some twenty four year old wants
your get, you know, Hey, tell them they better hold on.
I'm hitting him with the Heisman, all right, FA back up.
Don't let the dyed beer fool you.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
This man is thank you, Rob, hold on. At least
I ain't dying mind.

Speaker 5 (37:28):
It's all yeah, yeah you that is true. Although if
you hey mean my barber number, if you want to.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Hey, all, I want you to know when we were
in the studio together and Chris would put his head
up against that screen ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
It would leave like a dive. Mark. I would just
be like, what is that?

Speaker 5 (37:42):
Chris was out here leaving soul glow marks. Don't declar Yeah,
he about to text you right now. I don't do
him like that. Deshaun waxon What Not, wats we gotta
