that WNBA ratings update for me? Ryan, that's the w
(01:40):
NBA TV ratings update right there.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
They're coming after you.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
We'll do that at the bottom of the hour. I'm
not gonna tell you what. I won't tell you what
the number is now, but we'll get there in the
bottom of the hour.
Speaker 5 (01:54):
And they've bottomed out. I'm just saying I tried. But anyway,
let's talk about it.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
The Pacers are up twenty seven, twenty four, Rob g
has some numbers, and then Ryan, I'm gonna get your thoughts.
Speaker 6 (02:14):
Yeah, guys, to say the Indiana Pacers got off to
a hot star would be an understatement. They came out
shooting the cover off the ball. They hit nine of
their first eleven shots, eight of them were assisted. They
started out four or five from three. The only thing
keeping okasee and at least early. I don't want to
put my Scully and Molder hat on, but through the
(02:38):
first six minutes of the game, Okasey had already shot
nine free throws.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
To hang around, Ryan, you know all about that the NBA. Sometimes,
you know, there's the the neutralize, All right, Ryan, your
thoughts just for both teams, you know, early start.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
Yeah, hats off to Oklahoma City for hanging in. But
the scary thing is that Pacers are in attack mode.
They're getting downhill and for them, they want to push pace.
And when they are aggressive with the basketball, what happens
you have to help driving kip game. Then they're hitting threes.
So this is not a good look, not a good
pace for the Thunder, although hatsalt for them for staying
(03:21):
in this game so far.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Now, let me say this to you and you tell
me if I'm wrong. I think all the pressure, of course,
is on the Thunder. Not that Indiana doesn't want to
win this game, but I think that the Thunder have
all the pressure where I think that's tougher sometimes where
Indiana they know, no matter what, the series will be
(03:43):
tied and it's best two out of three, do you
know what I mean? Like they know no matter what,
and the Thunder like we lose, we're in trouble. Like
we got to win three games in a row in
order to win, and that's a very tall order. I know,
It's only happened one time in the NBA Finals. Win
f and the war is choked against Lebron. But you
get my point is the pressure on the Thunder it is.
Speaker 4 (04:08):
Because they don't know. They don't know what their roles are,
they don't know what they're supposed to do in this situation.
Is the starting lineup has been changed already, You've seen
adjustments where Indiana's just in attack mode. They're comfortable in
their roles. They know who they are, they know that
they're gonna move the basketball, they'll find the hot hand,
and they believe in it and they're aggressive. But right
(04:28):
now for the Thunder, the one thing they hang their
hat on, which is up and down, is their defense.
So if they're getting turnovers, it's a great sign. But
offensively down the stretch, this is a group that's searching.
You know, Dagnal's probably saying, you know, who, do I
make the second action? How do I get good looks?
Does Sga become a screener? Do I put the ball
in Jalen Williams's hands a little more to see if
(04:49):
he gets going to help out? Do we move the
ball and try to play by committee? But Indiana knows
who they are, so in that sense, going into an
uncomfortable role, Rob, You are right, there is more pressure
to the Thunder.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
No doubt. All right, let's go here.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
So Jiannis, you know, all the talk was maybe his
time in Milwaukee, especially what happened, you know, with them
losing to the Pacers and whatnot, and they had a
real bad choke game in their series against the Pacers.
So everybody was ready to send Jannis somewhere else. Maybe
this is it. He's been there too long. It's time
to move on and go somewhere and have a chance
(05:28):
to win. And that was all the talk, and people
were waiting for Jannis apparently to ask for a trade,
and now he's in ESPN Rob Gia to report it
today that they don't expect a trade request is coming
from Giannis. So there's a good chance that he might
(05:48):
stay in Milwaukee. And I'm gonna say this, if he does,
I applaud Giannis. I think he's a different cat. He's
not because you don't have to. Giannis is a made man.
He don't have to bounce around, hop around. He's already
won a championship and he did it in Milwaukee without
(06:09):
another superstar, which was impressive on it. By his own right,
He's already won two MVPs. He's done all these great things.
And if you go forward, if he wins one more,
it'll be great.
Speaker 5 (06:23):
If he doesn't, he's.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
A made man Janni's and he continues to put up
great numbers.
Speaker 5 (06:28):
He doesn't have Rob.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
This is crazy. That's even more the reason for him
to have to go or leave, because Milwaukee is gonna say,
thank you, you gave us a championship, you stuck it out,
and you did your job at the end of the day.
If Damian Lillard wasn't injured, this would be a different conversation.
But for Giannis on to the coupo, if he wants
to say competitive, if he wants to be in the
(06:52):
mix of an NBA championship, he's gonna have to go. Rob. Now,
with all that said and done, here's the truth. And
I've been saying this from day one. I don't expect
them to leave. The fact that he's been speaking out
and talking makes me feel like he wants to stay
at home. And and for guys, when God, when when
people go quiet, Rob, right, when your girl goes quiet
(07:13):
on you, you're trouble. But when she's talking, she just
wants to be heard. And here's the thing, don't be surprised.
You see the NASAs okay on their trainer, training camp,
roster Okay, you see one of the little brothers on
the tap, you know he's gonna be staying. But Giannis
is such a loyal guy. I can't really see it.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
And then another that's what I admire about him In
sports me too, there are guys I think when I
look at players who get to play their whole career
on one team, I think that's awesome.
Speaker 5 (07:40):
You really that you don't have to win.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
You don't have to win three championships to justify anything.
Like everybody wants their day in the sun, which he
did get. He won a championship and a lot of
people respect it because he didn't go team up. Everybody
wanted him to go to Miami. You remember after they
got knocked out by Miami the next that off season,
everybody like, y'alla should go to Miami and this and that,
(08:03):
and he was like no, and he stayed and and
I remember people criticizing him, Oh, he's dumb, why would
you stay there? Oh Milwaukee, who wants to play there?
And he won a championship. He didn't want to work
out with the other players. He doesn't want to be
buddy buddies with Lebron and go to his barbershop and
get a shape.
Speaker 5 (08:22):
Up and drink wine. He didn't want to put any
part of that.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
When he looks around rob and he sees that his
team doesn't have enough, he's gonna regret the decision. And
you're saying, what's loyalty. There's no loyalty in sports. You
go and you try to win as much as you
can while you have the opportunity.
Speaker 5 (08:39):
But they why didn't they got him players? You're saying
that didn't to go? Did you just brought it hurt?
Speaker 3 (08:45):
Wait a minute, They wouldn't got players hurt, Right, he
wouldn't got Damian Lillard for him?
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Why?
Speaker 3 (08:49):
But what did Milwaukee not do for him? He wanted help?
And guess what they did. They went out and got
Damian Lillard. And you noticed Ryan Hollins when they got
Damian Lillard.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Every oh my god.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Perfect matches. Those guys go together like PETERU Butter and Jelly.
Oh my god, I get with ros he got injured.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
You can't say it wasn't Peanut, Butter and Jelly. He
got injured. They didn't have enough time, but there was
a piece of lettuce on that set. At the end
of the day, you know what teams do, the players,
they move on. So for Gianni's is time to move on.
Do I think he will know he's too loyal? He
doesn't know any different. They they're gonna bring him in
to the office. They're gonna have the NASA's sitting in there.
It's gonna be a nice car for the NASA's. They're
gonna they're gonna smooth things over. Okay, we know that,
(09:30):
but in all seriousness, he should move. He's a guy
who wants to be competitive for a championship. But here's
the tough part. Here's a tough part, Rod listening. What
do you get back and return when you move them?
You you tell me Milwaukee doesn't want everything. You tell
me Milwaukee would settle from yet for the last and
(09:51):
that's the problem. Rudy Gobert got four first round picks
for him. Okay, and now the teams you're looking at
it five you go to so the teams you're looking at,
what would New York have? They're just throwing everything they can.
They don't have much. Utah has a bunch of picks Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I don't want picks over a proven star that's had
an unbelievable uh run in Milwaukee that brought you delivered
the championship. If he can finish his whole career there
and you do whatever the best you can, Uh, you
could go wherever you want.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
There's no guarantee.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
Okay, everybody thought Luca and Lebron, they had them going
to the NBA finals.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
Were you in that group? Every all these but you know,
am I wrong?
Speaker 7 (10:37):
No?
Speaker 3 (10:37):
All these experts have had them going to the NBA Finals.
I'm not afraid of anybody in the West.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Rob g.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
How many times do we hear that there's nobody standing
in the way of the Lakers?
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Uh and Uh, Luca and Lebron?
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Who what two players are better than those two they
got knocked out?
Speaker 4 (10:56):
No? You no, You're You're right, and and and again.
I think it would be in Milwaukee's best favor to
do it now. Wherever Giannis goes, I don't think that
will be a shoe in. And even Kevin Durant had
mentioned this when he was in Phoenix and around the
trade deadline, he said, I don't want to go to
a team and then the trade ends up gutting the
team that I come to.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
And that's what happened.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
But that's gonna happen, or you'll be in an all
in situation where you have a one or two year window.
But for Janni's he's got to take that chance because
little Turt, they've already exhausted all options in the best
way for them to get something back is to move
Giannis out to the Coupo. Or for Yiannis to have
a chance to win, the best thing he's gonna have
to do is go to another team.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Yeah, but if you're Milwaukee, you're not gonna get anybody
that's gonna give you a chance at winning.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
Why would I If I'm Milwaukee, Milwaukee.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
You don't need to win. It's about the future. Tell
Oklahoma City and Sam Presty. When they made the move
to get SGA and a bunch of first round picks,
you just let Paul George, an MVP candidate, walk for nothing.
Nah man, They got the MVP, so there's a lot
of value rob and young players. So yes, Milwaukee would
come out on top. But the challenge for Giannis is like, well, Okay,
(12:06):
you get your future, but give me some type of
a present, which is let me win now within these
one or two years.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
All right, eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven,
seven nine nine six sixty three sixty nine.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
Should Yannis stay in Milwaukee or not?
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Real simple? We want to hear from you. We'll continue
that conversation next with you. It is the Odd Couple

And you know what you need to do.
Speaker 8 (12:41):
Stick and stay unless you like your Greek food to
go in the US of A.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
It's all Greek to me.

This sounds like the when I was trying to make
a baby.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (13:13):
Man? Rob?
Speaker 3 (13:17):
Yes, they usuals call me daddy once they get their
approval of my MasterCard.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
Ryan, you know, Scott. It is the Eye Couple on
a Father's Day weekend.
Speaker 3 (13:31):

Fox Sports Radio. Yes, uh ready for a new job.
Let Express Employment professionals help. While Express helps people in
all industries find work. Their sweet spot is logistic roles.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
And Express never charges. You heard me, never charges. Seekers
of feed go to expresspros dot com. I'll telephone number
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. And we're talking
about Yannis, the idea that he's not going to ask
for a trade, and is it a mistake? Should he
(14:12):
stay in Milwaukee or no, move on and try something else.
We got a couple of calls here. Let's just go
with Chris in Milwaukee. You're on the couple of Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 5 (14:24):
What's up, Chris?
Speaker 4 (14:26):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (14:27):
How are you good?
Speaker 10 (14:29):
Well?
Speaker 2 (14:30):
I'm all right.
Speaker 9 (14:32):
I keep hearing this talk every day and seeing these
shows talk about Yiannis. Yannis needs to go. Yannis get out.
I'm tired of it. Everybody's tired of it. He's not leaving.
The Bucks would not trade him. He's an icon in
the city. He's not going to leave. He said it
himself now, So I think it's just time to put
these rumors to bed and let's talk about something else.
Speaker 5 (14:55):
I hear you, and I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (14:57):
You heard me, Chris, I'm saying he should stay like
he won a championship. He's one m VPS. People say
he couldn't win in Milwaukee. He did win in Milwaukee.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Yeah, but loyalty gets you nowhere, right, Loyalty get.
Speaker 5 (15:12):
You You're on with a great career in one place.
You wear one.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
Uniform everything, Rob, everything. The guy wants to win, he wants,
he wants his names to be up there with the great.
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Why can't he win him one another one in Milwaukee?
How many did he have to win?
Speaker 4 (15:27):
Because Damian Lillard's hurt. If he wasn't hurt, I wouldn't
be we wouldn't be having this conversation. Hurt?
Speaker 5 (15:31):
What okay is his career over Damian Lillard?
Speaker 4 (15:35):
I mean, Rob, I don't know if he's got time.
Speaker 6 (15:39):
Right.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
And they got rid of all their draft picks, so
it's not like they have a slower draft picks. They
can go out and kind of lean on like they
kind of went all in on the move. That that's
the point, Rob, that they didn't have They don't have
a cushion. If they had a cushion, we'd be saying
something different like, oh, just let the young gun, you know,
get shot up and get touches this, you know, like
fully had when when hard and moved Philly had Tyresse Maxie, like, Okay,
(16:02):
we got a young gun here that we're gonna put
the ball in his hands and figure things out.
Speaker 5 (16:07):
Is if you're y honest, they did right by you,
that they.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Tried absolutely and when he comes back to play, they'll
give him ovation and a nice little video and everybody
will beats misty eyed, and you know that's the point. Rob,
But I look, I agree, I don't believe he'll be leaving.
Speaker 5 (16:24):
So you believe that too, right, that he's just that's
not he's.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Too long and that's not his makeup because he could
have left earlier before they won.
Speaker 5 (16:32):
You remember when they lost to Miami.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
And they smoothed things out and they do They walked
him in the office and said, well, okay, big fellow,
what you need Okay, I need my brother, Okay, cool,
the NASA's is there. If the NASA's saint back, he's out.
There's gonna be the first man we're.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
What would you I'm just just hypothetical. The best, the
really the best move. Where would that be?
Speaker 4 (16:54):
If he did go, he would have to go to
a team where the copboard wouldn't be, where you'd have
to see an abundance of talent. The reason that san
Antonio is thrown out is because you compare them with Winby.
You have a future. They have a number of assets,
so you could trade picks and possibly match some players
in there, and and you you, you wouldn't be completely bare.
(17:17):
You'd have something at least to build with, maybe not
win with right there, but build with. Because him and
Wimby are scary, the Houston name gets thrown around because
Houston has an abundance of assets, and you'd be able
to keep something there, even though they would take a
lion's share of the wanting to do that.
Speaker 3 (17:34):
If you're if you're Houston, though, do you do you
really want to break that up? I mean, I can't
start player who's won a championship and it would elevate you.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
My assumption, and I'm not privy to those real conversations.
And I think just just Houston can go any they
can explore. They have to be willing to explore our avenues. Hey,
do we keep what we have? Is it Kevin Durant,
If it is it, Gianni Santra Coupo, and I think
part of your job is to exploring check out and
I'm everything I hear is that Houston's doing a good
(18:03):
job of exploring.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
No, that is it? Uh?
Speaker 3 (18:09):
Did you just see what happened? Rob g unbelievable? So
Aaron Judges struck out three straight times. Tonight comes up
in the bottom and the top of the ninth Yankees
losing one nothing against the guy who struck him out
all three times.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
Guess what he just did?
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Homer hit a home run tiede of game. There you unbelievable.
That that's unbelievable. Like the dude is pitching a gem
three two count fastball. He leaves the stadium amazing. But yeah,
we'll see how we do have one more call. We'll
get to Dion and Texas on this Giannis thing. Dion,
you're in the couple of Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Dion?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Hey?
Speaker 7 (18:46):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (18:47):
What's up?
Speaker 11 (18:48):
That?
Speaker 7 (18:48):
By alright?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
Hey?
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Noisy?
Speaker 7 (18:53):
When However, I do believe Joannish to stay. I feel
like the reason that they hadn't won more is because
of him. He had some playoff failures and some of
those failures lie right on his ankles that was always turned,
or or them building the wall that he couldn't figure
out that they were going to do that every single time.
So but Dame Lillier is hurt, and guess what, you
(19:15):
wasn't gonna win with him anyway. So I don't think
that trade was all that great to begin with. I
would send him to Dallas and they'll get Cooper Flagg
for Jiannis, and I think they'll instantly make Dallas better.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
We never know.
Speaker 7 (19:28):
Cooper Flagg could turn out to be a hold from
the guy that's in. Uh, they can't play very well
for ok see, so thanks for checking my call.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
Yeah, I appreciate it. Where are you on that Ryan
trading Cooper flag?
Speaker 5 (19:41):
Would you do it?
Speaker 4 (19:42):
I think I think for Dallas, I think they're they're
going to hold put with their guy. But it was interesting.
Well hey, let me say this. You can't put it
to bed because John, excuse me, Jannis was asked for
for Luca apparently originally, so you know there is interest
there with with Giannis and that would be a scary
(20:03):
you know, front line. You'd assume one of the Biggs
would have to go back. But yeah, that that could
be that could be gold.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
How do you how do you make but how as
great of a player as Johannis is to make your
fan base feel better about everything? Right?
Speaker 5 (20:18):
You got right?
Speaker 4 (20:20):
Cooper Flag gives you will go room where if he's
not great for the first two or three years, you're like, oh,
he's gonna become somebody. He gives you a guy that
the fan base can get behind. He's a very likable player.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Off and and if they trade him, they would be like,
wait a minute. First they got rid of Luca and
they had the number one pick, right, Cooper Fla, they
traded him.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
And you're going all in, all in if you trade
for Giannis. So whatever team makes the move. No, the
expectations are playing until this time right now next year
that those what will be what the expectations are?
Speaker 3 (20:53):
All right, let's get the updates with Steve the seger
Uh that baseball unbelievable the NBA Finals.
Speaker 2 (21:01):

Speaker 3 (21:13):
It is the odd Couple, Rob Parker Ryan Hollins in
for Kelvin Washington on a funky flashback Friday, Rob Parker. Uh,
and we're gonna get to some w NBA stuff, right,
Rob G? Rob, do you have those numbers for me?
And I want everybody who were very critical of me,
(21:33):
because once again, Rob G, I'll let you first tell
the numbers that I was trying to tell everybody about
this before it happened, and everybody just thought I was
Rob the meanie, the mean guy trying to be mean
about the WSG.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
You are, Rob, you pride yourself on that.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
No, I just was trying to tell people what was
gonna be on your headstone?
Speaker 6 (21:54):
Again, what's the statement?
Speaker 5 (21:55):
If I'm writing I'm ripped? That sounds naked?
Speaker 6 (21:59):
Hey, Right, here are the numbers you were asking for.
Speaker 4 (22:04):
Guys.
Speaker 6 (22:04):
Though, USA Today did a deep dive and they released
a report late on Thursday night indicating that since Caitlin
Clark went down with that quad injury on May twenty fourth,
the WNBA's national TV ratings have fallen get this, fifty
(22:27):
five percent over the last three weeks. It's a tough scene.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
I think Ryance w fans, are you are you shocked
by that or not, because here we go, uh here,
here's the official WNBA TV ratings tracker. Ryan, this was
(22:58):
a layout, I mean what people don't want to admit.
And I'm not sure here to knock women's basketball and
the WNBA, but the popularity and what's happened to it
of late has mostly to do with Caitlin Clark.
Speaker 5 (23:13):
It just does. She's the Harlem Globe Trotters.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Even the game against the rob g when the Fever
remember you you gave us those numbers they almost had
two million.
Speaker 5 (23:23):
It was because her team was playing and people didn't
know she was hurt.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Yet as soon as they realized she's not playing, Ryan,
the numbers for national games have dropped.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
I'm not surprised.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
And it just tells you not as much as that
the WNBA is terrible.
Speaker 5 (23:40):
But about her appeal.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
She played differently, Ryan, you know basketball taking the logo,
threes and the stuff she was doing that attracted a
lot of people to the WNBA because of what she
was doing and her style of play.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Make no mistake. And here's the number here. They lost
one point eight million viewers. That's ridiculous. But here's the thing.
Same for the NBA it's a star driven league. Right now,
we're seeing one of the lowest rated NBA finals in
probably decades. Right there's no stars.
Speaker 5 (24:10):
Sort of recording it than the pandemic.
Speaker 4 (24:13):
And these guys are gonna be stars. But if it
was Lebron Curry, possibly even Anthony Edwards would be a
much larger draw in the NBA Finals. So as far
as ratings are concerned, you know, like the people like
me and you, Rob, we're gonna watch the game. The
basketball peersts are going to watch the game now the
alert pass. The casuals aren't watching unless it's Lebron. It's
(24:37):
it's Curry. It's one of those household names you know,
and you don't have that. But it's a changing of
the guard. And it's same with the WNBA. That's just
respect to all sports. A lot of people don't watch
unless it's names.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Now, names are big, and especially the WNBA. Caitlin Clark
is that she's a magnet and her numbers are in
incredible not surprised, but she is coming back.
Speaker 5 (25:02):
Is the announcement that she's coming back. Rob.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
She is supposed to play this weekend, just in time
because it is a nationally televised game against New York
on ABC.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
I believe and I and I hope that Rob Robin Rob.
I hope that the respect is put more so on
her name. Just that's hey, they are there to watch her.
Not to say that the w n b A hasn't
built an amazing brand, but the same way that the
NBA one watch it was on tape delay. Michael, Michael
Jordan and and and Magic Johnson, Larry and Larry Bird.
(25:34):
They made the NBA man and more. So let's just
put it on on Michael's back. Mike, Well, Michael Jordan
did made the NBA what it is and it wouldn't
be that without it. And and the Kobe carried it
from Michael, and Lebron carried it for him. And you're
you're you're looking for another name. And I can't stand
in the NBA universe where they go, we don't need
another face of the league. Yes you do, Yes, you do, yes.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
You do that idea When I hear that, I don't
know what people it's the marketing part of it. People
are attracted to that, you know, to stars, not we
don't want milk toes or nobody's better than anybody else.
And everybody's the same. That's not what fans you're drawn to.
And the word fan is what fanatics, right, it's based
off of that, derived from the word fanatics and that
(26:19):
and that is because you really care and you want
to see the best of the best, and you want
to see the big stars. That's just a part of sports.
But she she is incredible, to be honest, and that's
why I call it a Hall and Globe trotters.
Speaker 5 (26:32):
When they come.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
When she comes to town or she's on, people of
flipping and turn the channels to see her. Now have
you been have you seen her in person or not?
Speaker 4 (26:40):
I haven't seen her in person. I've watched a couple
of the games, but I haven't seen her in person.
And here's the thing I wanted to say this too.
We're watching some of the best basketball rot that we've
seen in the NBA Finals in the years, I mean
in the years. This is a great series, It's been
a great playoffs thus far, and nobody's watching because the
(27:00):
casuals don't want to see this. They don't, you know.
So again, with all the respect to the game, there's
there's a business of basketball that goes on behind the
scenes and it's a player driven league, you know.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
And market size matters. You know, people, I know.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Silver was trying to downplay it and talk about that
it doesn't matter the size of the market. But that's
just not true. And you know this because you played
in the league for a long time. As good as
the Spurs were and Tim Duncan, they always had the
lowest rated finals because they were in a small market
in Sanini.
Speaker 4 (27:32):
Just that. No, I'm gonna argue at that point Lebron
was in Cleveland and you watched there's certain players that
bring them out.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Now, No, no, no, there's no doubt. But I'm saying in
a small market, yes, it's harder significant the New Jersey
nets you say, oh, well, they're right outside New York.
You know that they didn't get the numbers either. People
didn't watch win the New Jersey that they made it
to the finals two.
Speaker 5 (27:54):
Years in a row.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Yeah, yeah, you're you're right about that. So it's city matter,
and even bigger than the city, players matter, and and
Lebron and Cleveland was a staple of that, you know,
and his respect is is definitely going to be shown.
To me, that's the biggest part of Lebron's legacy ain't
the winning in Miami. It's it's it's that going back
to Cleveland and winning was the one.
Speaker 5 (28:17):
Yeah, that was the big one.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
I agree that that kind of because even in Miami,
if you really want to be honest, it was he
was the one saying not two, not three, not four
about all the championships they're gonna win, and they won
two out of four. Now what lost to Dallas was
the one that people were like, really, you.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Know what I mean, it sticks with them and shout
out to Rick Carlisle. But absolutely, just to your point
with Caitlyn Clark, it's a player run league and hopefully
there's a next star that that comes around. It been
there have been unbelievable players man Candice Parker, Lisa Leslie
and all those, all those ladies and legends, superb Like
they built a building block stein It Thompson. Shout out
(28:56):
to Tina, see her all the time, cheryff swoops like
you can go on down the build.
Speaker 3 (29:00):
The buildings put it on a different level, right yeah,
right with the with the eyeballs.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
And you know, the irony enough and them, I'm just
gonna call it for what it is. Caitlyn wouldn't be
Kaitlyn without Angel Reese sparking the controversy and her it's
they're the perfect mix of controversy along with game. You
know what I'm saying. You can argue that when Angel's
game gets where it needs to go, you know, she
(29:27):
can be more of that draw right now, you know
you're not coming out to watch rebounds, but she's she's
great behind a mic. She has an excellent personality. But
making no mistake, she pushed what Caitlyn was and made
people start looking at what Caitlyn Clark does on the floor.
Not that she didn't have the game, but you know,
it became a national national shoot of World story.
Speaker 3 (29:49):
Rob and what's the update, Rob gees? A three point game?
Is that where we are? I think the thunder or
up by three?
Speaker 6 (29:56):
Is that fifty three to fifty three and a half
minutes left here the second quarter?
Speaker 3 (30:01):
Yeah, so we're not even a halftime. It's gonna be
a close one. This will be interesting to see how
it plays out, all right. You know here on the

What's up?
Speaker 10 (32:16):
Rob Parker?
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Hey?
Speaker 10 (32:17):
I just wanted to talk about the you know, the
Thunder and the paper. You know, good job, I do
get in the papers back. But today's a revenge game
for Who's the Thunder? And Scott Foster is actually officiating
this game. He's not gonna help the Indiana Papers. He's
gonna help the Thunder with SGA the MVP like Adam
Silver doesn't want this. They'll be a bad product. It's
(32:38):
just to blow out of the Pacers win four one,
you know, so they got to call Scott Foster. He's
gonna extend this game and a Pacer should win this
game like today and they should win the serieson in sixteames.
Rob Parker's only objects what's gonna happen? You know you
want you want to hunt for Obama it's like a
soap opera, you know, right, yeah, I'm loving it.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
Well, it's sixty to fifty seven and the Pacers have
the lead. It's under twenty seconds ago. So I hear
what you're saying. And I know Scott Foss's name came up.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
But by the way, mister Halliburn's not in the suites.
He's down there for is he down on it? Like
second row? He just high five the sun after a layup.
Speaker 5 (33:19):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
I told you anybody else, they wouldn't have seen the place.
Speaker 4 (33:23):
Of course, bright, I told you Halliburton been hitting shots.
He's back.
Speaker 5 (33:28):
So there we go. What are your thoughts? First half?
Speaker 3 (33:30):
It's halftime now, sixty fifty seven, this type of game,
speed of the game seems to be where the Pacers
wanted to be a myra right.
Speaker 4 (33:42):
It is, and it's gonna be hard for Oklahoma City
to keep up with the pace. But they are fighting, man,
And make no mistake, this is an elimination game, and
you see the sense of urgency. But again, as we
look in the second half, where's the execution gonna come from?
Where's the help for Shay gonna come from? Is it
just gonna be one on one with SGA. If they
can't manufacture turnovers, where does the offense come from. You
(34:04):
talked about it earlier with Medina. Is it going to
be Chat Is it going to be Williams? You know
those guys are playing better, but is it something you
can rely on? Here? Here's the thing.
Speaker 3 (34:13):
Shay has zero assists in the first half. They only
have the thunder six on their twenty baskets.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
Is that good or bad?
Speaker 4 (34:23):
It's hard to play basketball like that like that and
nim Hard is just bumping and elbowing and picking them
up for ninety four feet. And that's one thing Rick
Carlile did with Lebron. He had Jason Terry and JJ
Burrey picking up you know, Lebron James ninety four feet,
making him attempt to be aggressive, and you know you
can wear those legs out.
Speaker 5 (34:45):
I like where this is.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
As far as the pacers, I'm glad you listen to me, Rob.
Speaker 5 (34:50):
I listen to you.
Speaker 3 (34:51):
I mean I do no come on, you know coming
back to Houston, man, I'm coming. I was trying to
make the plans July. I'm trying to figure it out.
I was looking I need the astros to coincide.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
When I come. You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Didn't you go to like three games and one day
today you came out? Yeah? I are we calling it
a game? Which you did?
Speaker 5 (35:16):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (35:16):
What are we calling what you did? Out here?
Speaker 8 (35:18):
Man?
Speaker 5 (35:19):
What it was a tour? A three hour tour? So
what do you got? What do you got going?
Speaker 3 (35:29):
So if they I think the Pacers're gonna win, I
do where are you? If they win?
Speaker 5 (35:35):
Is there any chance that the thunder would be able
to come back?
Speaker 4 (35:39):
No, They're gonna take care of business at home, and
then when they come back to you know, they're gonna
win one at home. They'd be spirited, the energy will
be in the building. And then then they're gonna come
back to Indiana and it's going to be a boat racing.
A boat racing. And this game has been chippy, it's
been physical. I mean, okay, see.
Speaker 5 (35:57):
So some pushing underneath the back it's.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
Not really okay. Sees like the demeanor to me. I
think I think that's one thing that Indiana learned, and
that's when they really got much better. They learned how
to be physical, they learned how not to get pumped.
You know, they said, we got to keep James Johnson
on the rodster. We're not playing around. We bring JJ back, okay,
and and I feel like they are battle tested. That's
the difference, Rob Yeah, I like like kind of like
(36:21):
you with that MX battle tested. You know when to
pull that thing out man with quick draw McGraw man.
Speaker 5 (36:27):
Remember we had a great steak dinner there, Remember we did?
Speaker 4 (36:30):
That was bigger you you you paid for the dinner paid?
Speaker 5 (36:33):
And how much was that bill? Three hundred dollars?
Speaker 4 (36:35):
I didn't even look at it. The three hundred might
have been generous. It was about about ten of us
at the table. They might have been generating, rob G.
Speaker 5 (36:42):
I mean.
Speaker 4 (36:44):
You don't know that.
Speaker 5 (36:45):
And a gift card.
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Hey rob G when he's not having slurpees, man, I'm
telling you he lives it. Rob G took you took
rob G to seven eleven? Man, what you do? What
did you take? Rob G out? Man? The whole food?
I remember to take rob G Man.
Speaker 5 (37:02):
We did have a great night.
Speaker 6 (37:03):
He had a local coupon and he gave me the drink.
Speaker 5 (37:06):
That's why you got the drink out of it.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
I the chickens all right, my man, a Ryan, thanks
for filling it as always.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
You know, brother I'm just I'm just happy Father's.
Speaker 5 (37:16):
Day to you and every all the dad's out there.
Rob G. Everybody who's a dad daddy? Does that count?
Speaker 4 (37:23):
No?
Speaker 5 (37:25):
Both daddy's, Alex, I know right well, we'll.
Speaker 4 (37:27):
Throw you like a question mark on Father's they rob
like like TVD.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up next.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
I never missed your radio show.
Speaker 4 (37:37):
I never hear it, so I never miss it.
Speaker 5 (37:38):
Did you hear that
