Gonna be a good win.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
And Rob.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Rob Z didn't have my microwave take ready.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Why I say I've been saying all off season and
I said it again Friday, Dak Prescott will get signed
before the season.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Why didn't you break a story in you if you
had it, hey, I was just saying it.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
I wasn't reporting nothing. I don't report break stories no more.
I was just.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Saying my belief, my strong belief.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Was that this is Jerry Jones I mean that right,
he always came at the end still, but you didn't
believe he was gonna came, I know, get a deal.
I don't know it was going to be here, Chris,
I did. I'll say that forty million dollars sixty million
dollars a year, two.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Hundred thirty one million guaranteed to Dak Prescott Ross. So,
so what do you think just the whole thing, like
the the way Jerry Jones dragged this out like he
always does, and the money that Dak Prescott got.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I just I wouldn't have paid Dak Prescott.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I'm just I've seen him for seven eight years in
the postseason. I just think he might what's the right
way to me? He's a more melanin Tony Romo.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Can I say that?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I mean, like me more mean Tony Romo, Chris, And
there you go. I didn't want to say it like that,
but you get my point. Tony Romo had really good
seasons for the Cowboys. Chris, Am I wrong on that?

Speaker 1 (02:34):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
No, no, he had really good seasons, but they never
could win with Tony Romo as quarterback. And we've had
a good simple size, could they win somehow somewhere.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
I guess they could. I'm not saying that they can't win.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
If you get a great defensive uh performance and he
doesn't make any mistakes or whatever, sure he can win.
But do I really believe that Dak Prescott should be
the hot it's worth the money that they just paid.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
I don't believe that.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Go look at the last couple of playoff games when
green Bay came in there, and then the one before
that against the forty nine ers when that awful the
offense was awful. I mean, this is what we've seen
in those moments of spots. I'm just not a fan, Chris.
And I've told you for a long time when when
you thought he was even like on his way to being.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
The league, you remember that I haven't changed. I never was.
He's a Zach.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Carard two quarterback right a notch below that, like you
know the top five is or whatever. Yeah, but I
did think he was going to become an elite and
he's really good.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
No, I'm just saying, to start, all I'm saying is
not been consistent the whole time on him. I'm saying
I've not changed. I've just all you've been consistent on
him on him, that's all.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
But as we always say, you don't you don't win
it until you win it.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
No, I get ribbed.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Peyton Manning didn't win a super Bowl until his ninth
year in the league.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
But Peyton Manning was winning m v P.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
He's better.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Yeah, he was.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
What I'm saying that he was winning MVP and that.
But that goes for Lamar Jackson to Ron. Lamar Jackson
hasn't had playoff success and has actually played.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
He's one league, he's one, He's won MVPs. But I'm
just saying if you're if.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
I'm talking a second that was second last year in
m v PA.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
But he had a chance to win it. No, he didn't.
He was second. That he wasn't. I mean he finished second.
I mean that that's not in the running.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
No, because Lamar got all the first place votes except
for one. I mean, they they've changed the way that
they voted, and I'm just saying he was really second, Chris.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I mean, well he actually really was.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
I gap obviously, but I'm just saying he was the
second in the m v P vote again.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
But but I'm I'm saying that he had a.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
He had a very good year now he's but he's
not an MVP winner.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
I give you that.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
The difference between is that those two guys you're talking
about one m v P s before for they won,
so they have a trajectory where you feel way better
that they're going to get it done at some point.
I don't believe that after eight seasons with Dak Prescott
hasn't been a rob G is it eight years?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
I don't, But I think, and I hear you. I look,
I tend to think the cow Now you know. My
beef with the Cowboys, even beyond Dak, is their culture.
I don't think the culture, the tone that Jerry Jones
sets is conducive to winning at the highest, highest, highest level.

(05:40):
But so I tend to agree with you that I
don't think they're gonna win it, but they got a chance.
I do think you can win a super Bowl with
Dak Prescott.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
As your quarterback. I'm not saying you can't.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yeah the question though everybody would have said that about
Tony Romo two and they never got there. I'm just saying,
I hear you. I'm not saying he'll never win a
super Bowl under any circumstance. I would never say that right,
because we see way lesser quarterbacks, Chris when Super Bowls,
we saw a broken down Peyton Manning with tape and

(06:11):
glue and popsicle sticks to his neck win a Super
Bowl for Denver, didn't we I.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Just gave you the numbers earlier. He was terrible.

Speaker 4 (06:20):
Yeah, the thing is this, and look I get you
in your view that hey start all over because he
has these two and five in the playoffs. Romo was
two and four in the playoffs. But Rob, you know,
if my thing was this, and you know I was
saying this during last season or right after the season

(06:40):
and all that, the problem is if you would have
let that go, you're basically starting all over and you
don't know, Rob, it could be five years, it could
be ten years before you get that next franchise quarterback.

(07:01):
I get it, Risks, right, And sometimes they just gave
Ceedee Lamb all that money. So look at Devontae Adams,
you know, melting away, withering away in Las Vegas because
he's got no quarterback that could beat Ceedee Lamb and
the Cowboys if they let that go.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Vegas has a good defense. Rob G knows that's his team.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Rob G, where you you have a unique perspective on
this because you do have a team that's got talent
but not a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
So would you like you probably love to have dak Press.

Speaker 6 (07:40):
I would love to have Dakota Ring Prescott as my quarterback.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
See that's the thing, right, Like Pittsburgh would take him,
the Raiders would take him, but.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
It doesn't mean that they would win anything even if
they got him.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
I get that, Chris.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I mean, sure you look at the numbers and the
regular season and all that other stuff, but if you're
trying to win a championship, he is not like automatically
you're gonna win.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
No, And that That's what I'm saying. I I'm just
not a fan. I'm not.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
Look, the thing is with the sixty million dollars, here's
the thing.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
It, I mean, sixty million dollars. Your quarterback's making that much,
you're not. I mean, yeah, you can keep kicking the
can down the road, right, deferring money, deferring money, but
at some point you know it's Jerry Jones gonna.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Do that, right, So some of these guys they're not
gonna have us.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
And man, Rober, you got the San Francisco game one
they keep. They are killing themselves with penalties.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
They just had a touchdown run taken back because of penalty.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Uh, and they've had a few other big plays.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
But didn't they just get a touchdowns? This is a
second one? Oh, this is the flag? You got it?
So But anyway, yeah, I I what do you think?
Like my thing too? And this again, I just never
wavered because I've seen Jerry's act.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
But why like he.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Could have done this and maybe gotten back for less
than sixty million, rob, had he done it in March,
had he done it in April?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
You know, give him fifty seven million a year? And
now again I get it. Three million a year isn't
you know a ton of money.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
I don't get it either.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
I have no idea like the thinking behind it or
why they do what they do.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
It doesn't make any sense.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
It just doesn't if you're going to give them the
money of regularly, Chris, what is the difference.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
You lose out on training camp? Run our back practice?
But ceedee?

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Lamb didn't exactly like why you set him back? You
could say whatever you want. You set him back for
no reason? Right, He's like he's like, you know the
guy that tries to act like he's so tough and
talks all this mess, but at the end of the
day just crumbles the parent.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Who oh, you grounded.

Speaker 4 (10:03):
You can't go to the prom, you you can't talk
on the phone, give me your phone, you get.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
All that, and then at the end of the day,
you just crumbled.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Say you a Crystal who crumbled the most crumble?

Speaker 1 (10:16):
We didn't crumble. We nobody had to be the soft spot, Chris.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Somebody's got ground They laughed, now about y'all were always
grounding us, like.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
You're grounded, But they we taught our girls early.

Speaker 4 (10:29):
If my girls really weren't didn't give us much problem
because early on, I mean from.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Young we disciplined them, and I believe it in spanking.
But I but you know what, I don't know when
they got older, they weren't a problem. But I'm not
so sure if you tell them that if they act
up or act out, they have to listen to Doug
Gottlief show.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Is that really punishment? I'm just asking. I don't rip
the colleagues like that. Man, Come on, why are you
doing that?

Speaker 7 (10:58):
That's your colleague, bro. At least rip somebody from another network.
I can all right, I mean, you know what I'm saying.
I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
I don't know what y'all got going on, but I'm
just you know, I tell you what, who's this?

Speaker 4 (11:14):
This backup running back for Jordan Mason making a little
name for himself sixty seven yards on ten carries?

Speaker 1 (11:23):
The defense isn't stopping the runner?

Speaker 4 (11:24):
And right, that takes you, right because that Jets defense
is supposed to be bally Hood or is bally Hood,
but the Niners are running rough shot over him.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Get in, Deebo, here you go, all right? But anyway,
right for Deebo? What was that? Yeah? I want to
see him score? I know? What are you doing?

Speaker 6 (11:44):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
I don't report no more.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
You can call yourself a reporter, really when the last
time you report is up today?

Speaker 1 (11:53):
That last time you wrote a story today? What I
wrote a story?

Speaker 2 (11:57):
I was leaving know about Bowling, about bow Naylor, who's
a catcher for the Calver Guard Broyeah?

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I do, right, I still write a column, bro, I do.
That's right? All right.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
It's the odd couple Chris and Rob dak Prescott, the
sixty million dollar man, or really the two hundred forty
million dollar man. Two hundred and thirty one million of
it guaranteed. Did the Cowboys do the right thing? Should
they have given Dak all that money? And what do
you think of their prospects of winning the Super Bowl?
With Dak as their QB Fox Sports Radio The Eye

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Well you don't know is for my entire life.

Speaker 8 (12:55):
I have lived in something I refer to as the
Great Depression anxiety. So now I'm coming out with a
new podcast, Unbreakable, a mental health podcast with Jay Laser,

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Rob forty nine ers leading the Jets thirteen to seven,
a little over five minutes left in the second quarter.
If you're wondering about Aaron Rogers, well seven eleven sixty
four yards, he's had a little bit of miscommunication with
some receivers.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Well, I was gonna say, I've seen a few balls
Chris that he's zipped yep, right that he looked up.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I think he's you know it slants across the middle
of the undernease stuff he's throwing well, and just the
longer stuff. They've had a few miscommunications, but he's looking
pretty good.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
No, he looks like he's fine.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I haven't seen him like getting out of trouble that much,
you know what I mean, Like we haven't really seen
him there.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
But so far, so good. He looks good to me.
He doesn't like they lose.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
In San Francisco. There's no shame in that. It's just
they don't. You don't want to get blown out, and
you want Rogers to kind of look good. Remember he
didn't play in the preseason, Rode. He hasn't played a
game in well over a year.

Speaker 1 (14:49):
You know what I mean? This is good off some
rust and.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
If you could get him out of this, Chris, Well,
they play well, you say, not the end of the
world to lose in sam Facisco and get him out
of this game, and he's healthy, and you know what
I mean, and you can just move past that and
not have to feel like my god, you know what
I mean, Like just you just don't want any incidents.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
That's right, right, all right?

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven seven
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. Do you think
the Cowboys did the right thing by making Dak Prescott
the highest paid football player in the history of the world.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Your thoughts, Sean in Austin, Texas. You're on the odd
couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
What's up, Sean?

Speaker 5 (15:36):
Hey? First of all, Chris Man, good luck in your future.
You've given us a great six years. Thank you. I'll
continue to listen to Rob. Never called before, but I
love it. I love the two of you together. You're
not You're not faked, You're real when you so, I
just wanted to say, Chris, you know, thank you, thank you,

(15:58):
And Rob, you're gonna do five? And what's the new
partner or whoever you know you're gonna do? Good? I'll
I'll keep listening. We have we have minor league baseball
a lot of nights, but I go to the app
when I don't when I can't, So hey, you know,
thank you.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
I appreciate the words. Thanks for your support over Roddie.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
No doubt, Sean. That means a lot.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
And yep, Kelvin Washington is the new odd couple partner
and he starts on Monday.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
So thank you.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
He'll do and I'll keep supporting like and I'm a
blind listener, so I appreciate the way y'all describe it.
You know too, Wow, thank you. But as far as
as far as Dak Prescott unload, Okay, all right, Dak Prescott,

(16:44):
he he has a one with cowboys. But the biggest
part is not even Dak Prescott. It's their general manager,
the smart businessman Jerry Jones, who gets in the way
of the jederal manager, the drunk Jerry Jones. And as
long as a drunk general manager Jerry Jones is around,

(17:09):
then I win in the Super Bowl because drunk Jerry
Jones will get in the way of Dak Prescott or
whoever's the quarterback winning the Super Bowl. You got Tony Romo,
a good quarterback, you had all these I mean, now, granted,
Trey Lance sucked, we all saw that, but I mean,
whoever's there and they could have. Okay, if it was

(17:30):
a smart GM. I let Dak come in this year.
I see how he does, and oh I can trade.
But oh now I signed him to the not just
the highest paid quarterback, but the highest paid player in
the NFL. Now I can't get anybody because my salary
CAP's too high. So drunk Jerry Jones. Yeah, put down

(17:52):
the vodkome up, man, go call your daughter, call your
paternity daughter or whatever he is. You know, I mean,
you know, Jerry.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
All right, Sean, thank you, my man. Thanks for the support.
We appreciate Yes, thank you, brother.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
No Doubt seven seven ninety nine on Fox if you
do want to jump in, We're.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Going to weigh and Rob on this Tyreek Hill situation.
The the uh okay, the body cam has come out
and it's non shocker, is.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
It to you?

Speaker 2 (18:22):
Well, it was interesting to see the interaction between what
I'm saying. I was wondering, just wonder about the handcuffs
for a traffic stop, that's all. So it had to
be something else. But yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what
I meant, You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (18:34):
Yeah, right, right, right right.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Odd Couple
with Chris Brussard and Rob Parker weekdays at seven pm Eastern,
four pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
Before the Dolphins Jaguars game, it was on twenty to seventeen.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yep by the Dolphins. Was a big, big comeback by
the Dolphins. That was a good win for them. Yeah,
it was. It was, It really was.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
And Tyreek Bill had the There were a lot of
big plays, but he had a huge one with an
eighty yard reception that he ran about fifty yards or
forty yards for the touchdown after making the catch, So
big game for him at one hundred and thirty yards
receiving overall. But before the game, Rob it was a

(19:19):
huge story where he was on his way to the game.
I think it was it was not far what was it?
Robbed you about a mile away from the stadium in
Miami and cops pulled him over for speeding. He also
didn't have his seatbelt on, and then they you know,

(19:40):
pulled him out of the car, handcuffed him. At one
point he was face down on the ground and then
they took him over to the curb. He was, you know,
handcuffed still and then Caleus Campbell and John new Smith,
his teammates, came, you know.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
They stopped saw it and they stopped.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
And you know, just to see what was going on,
and they kind of they had, you know, interactions with
the cops, not physical, but well, Kalayis was handcuffed, I believe, yeah,
I think so. Yeah, And so so after the game,
Tyreek says he didn't know why he was handcuffed and

(20:20):
what happened, and you know, all that stuff and.

Speaker 1 (20:24):
We saw the body cam just came out.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
We will talk about this, but the Dolphins did just
release a statement after the body came cam came out
and Rob he's gonna summarize a little bit of it
for us.

Speaker 6 (20:37):
Yeah, it's a pretty lengthy statement. Here's some of the
key parts of it.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
Though.

Speaker 6 (20:42):
We are saddened by the overly aggressive and violent conduct
directed towards Tyreek Hill, Kalays Campbell, and Johnny Smith by
police officers before yesterday's game. It's both maddening and heartbreaking
to watch the very people we trust to protect our
community use such unnecessary force and hostility towards these players. Continues.
We are proud to have a strong and positive relationship

(21:02):
with the Miami DA Police Department and other law enforcement agencies. However,
as is on full display in the videos released tonight,
there are some officers who mistake their responsibility and committment
to serve with misguided power. While we commend MDPD for
taking the right and necessary action to quickly release this footage,
we also urged him to take equally swift and strong

(21:24):
action against the officers who engage in such despicable behavior.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
All right, Rob, what was your feeling on once you
saw the body?

Speaker 2 (21:34):
Camp I always thought that there had to be more
to it, right, And.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Yeah, because last night Tyreek after the game said he
didn't wasn't disrespectful and didn't curse, and he didn't curse
from the moment we saw, but he he was disrespectful, right,
And he was that.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
And Chris, you know this when you're you know, when
you're dealing with the police, and and you gotta be careful,
right because as soon as you kind of cross that line,
then you give them the right to to do stuff
like they did put you in handcuffs and say that
you're not being following instructions and whatnot.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
You gotta be. They released they said he was uncooperative.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
Right, and you gotta be and and and that, and Chris,
that's it. Like it's not like I've been in I've
never been arrested, you know, but I've been around and
I've seen cops act nasty towards people. I've heard, you
know what I mean, and things like that. But in
this case, he just he had every reason to me

(22:39):
to be like, you're right, in your work environment, you
could have made this thing probably a lot easier, right,
And saying, well.

Speaker 1 (22:46):
Let's let's describe.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
I mean, for those who make the body can well
I I.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Don't, okay, but he describe it.

Speaker 4 (22:54):
So it looked you know, it looked like he was
speed and I can't measure the speed, but you know,
when you see them, Yeah, first you see his car
and it looks like he speeds by. And then so
a cop on the motorcycle follows him, tells him to
pull over because he's speeding. Tyreek pulls over. He's in
I don't know, it looks like a Lamborghini or something.

(23:16):
I don't know what it is. But he's got tenant windows.
There's a black sports car with tenant windows. So the
windows are up. When the cop goes, you know, to
the to the door, and so he knocks on the
window and Tyreek rolls it down a little and says,
don't be knocking.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Don't be knocking on my window like that.

Speaker 4 (23:38):
He says it a few times and then he he
I think Tyreek says something to the effect of just
do what y'all gotta do. I'm gonna be later, I
got I'm going on my way or whatever.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
And then he.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Rolls the window up and the window, remember it is tenant,
so the cop is like, roll the window down, roll
the window down, and Tyreek rolls it down a little bit.
And they said, don't be telling me what to do.
Don't be telling me, you know. And so he won't
really roll the window down all. He's not rolling it
down all the way.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
And you know, then you know the reason why.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
As you know, the whole thing with tennant windows is
and I'm not saying in this case, this case being
a former, I mean a current athlete, but tended windows
somebody could have a weapon, know what I mean. Absolutely,
if I'm a cop, you got tenanted windows, I don't
know what, right?

Speaker 4 (24:34):
Why'd you roll it up to get something I don't
know right? And I'm just saying, right, no, that's exactly
why you want the person to roll the window, so
I can see there's a reason why getting something right.
It's not just flexing. And so you know, then the
cops ultimately are like they start, you know, pulling rank

(24:56):
because you're being disrespectful, and they pull him out of
the car and that's when they throw him on the ground,
handcuffed him.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
He's he did right, he didn't curse. By that point.

Speaker 4 (25:06):
Once they pull him out, he's kind of being more
you know, submissive, I guess, but they put him that's
when they had him face down, they cuff him, and
then they bring him over to the side. He's telling
and then a second cop comes over and he's being excessive.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
The second cop is like unnecessary, and you're right, right,
did he need to cuff Tyreek? No, you can argue, yeah,
he didn't.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
But once you to your point, once you start acting
like you're disrespectful, once, once you do that, you give
them the license, Chris right to act that way. If
you don't do that, I get I can't take that again.
There's a good chance you're not gonna.

Speaker 1 (25:48):
Be in handcuffed if you had just been like, rolled
the window down, let me get out. Was I speeding?

Speaker 4 (25:56):
I don't even think you had to get out? But
just all right, here's my because he did have it.
It looked like he was giving it to him when
they first stopped him. He rolled down to give him
that and be like, you know, don't be knocking on
my window and all that like that, and then he
rolls the window up. But I'll say this, I'm gonna
say two things. One, Tyreek was disrespectful.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Like you said, he gave him the right to do
what they you know, they were somewhat excessive, but.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
Also disrespect He enabled it to happen.

Speaker 4 (26:29):
Secondly, I have seen and all of us may have
seen on videos, you know, and I'm gonna bring race
into it to some degree. I don't know that it
was racial. They were Hispanic cops. I don't know if
it was racial or not.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
But I've seen white.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Drivers talk worse two cops, more disrespectful, and nothing happens.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Now these are just on videos.

Speaker 4 (26:52):
I'm sure sometimes they get himmed up to, you know,
by the cops whatever. But I've seen that and I'm
gonna be I'm not gonna be a hypocrit. I've been
talked back to cops.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Now I'm not.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
I haven't done what Tyreek did where I wouldn't roll
the window down or you know. But I last time
I was with Rob, my wife was driving me to
the train and I was, you know, we were running late.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I was trying to catch the train to get to
my TV show.

Speaker 4 (27:17):
This was within the last two years, and the cops
pulled this over because she was speeding, and I'm like,
you know, they pulled I'm like, look, I'm ready for
this train. I gotta can I get out, I gotta
get out and go.

Speaker 1 (27:28):
Because we were close to the train.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
I was like, I'm gonna get out and go to
catch his train, and they're like, stay in the car.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
So I like got out of the.

Speaker 4 (27:34):
Car with my hand and start walking towards him, like look,
I'm just trying to get to my train. I had
my hands up and they're like, you know, they wife
car dripping. My wife was ticked off at me for
a few days because she's like, they could shoot you.
They out here killing black men.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
On the you know. But you know, so I got
back in the car.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
But so I don't want to act like I get sometimes,
whereas a driver you can.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
You're like, man, just you know, you frustrated with the car.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I'll say for me, I had an incident like that,
and mine was Chris driving from Wilkesbury, Pennsylvania, to New
York early in the morning. I had a girlfriend there.
I stayed in Wilkesbury. I was driving to get to work,
right so it's early in the morning, and so they
pulled me over and it was like, where are you

(28:26):
going or where are you coming from? And I said,
none of your business. Like that was because I didn't
understand what does that have to do with if you're
saying I was speeding or give me a ticket, where
I'm coming from or where I'm going. I don't understand
what what is that question? You know, like what like
where are you coming from?

Speaker 5 (28:44):
It?

Speaker 2 (28:44):
Wass That's why I said, none of your business?

Speaker 1 (28:48):
Like and what they and then they were like, oh,
you're being smart.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
I said, no, I don't understand what that question has
to do with why you pulled me over.

Speaker 1 (28:55):
Where I'm going or where I'm coming from. I get it.

Speaker 2 (28:58):
If I'm speeding, you know, if that's the reason you're
pulling me over, then fine, then say you caught me speeding.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
Where am I coming from?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
It doesn't matter where I'm if I'm not committing.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
So then they yeah, I mean so I get it.
But I to your point, you're there's a there's a
a a line of authority, and the cops have the authority.
And you know, you would think if Tyreek was just
like rolled down the window, gave him his you know license,

(29:30):
all right, officer, you know that he's he's good now.

Speaker 2 (29:33):
He did say too, and maybe look, maybe we didn't
see everything.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
I guess we probably did. But he did say, remember
at the press conference, he said, I did what my
uncle always told me, and I put my hands on
the steering wheel and just said what I didn't see
any of that, any of that.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
That's what he said though, Right, Yeah, Well that's always
the thing now, And that's why the body cam is
such a big part of policing Chris, because people say
what they did and they didn't do that, but both sides,
both sides, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
And now you can't run away from that, okay.

Speaker 2 (30:07):
And I think after seeing the body cam you can
understand that he wasn't as cooperative as he needed to be.
And that's it was it still a little overzealous. You
might want to say that like the like the dolphins
are saying, yes, but Tyreek didn't do what he needed
to do.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
It's just as simple as that. And I'll say this
rob about Kalais Campbell, I mean, props to him. It's
it may sound some people may think this is an overstatement,
but he did kind of Rob. I mean, with some
of the stuff we've seen happen, he put his life

(30:48):
in danger. And I'm not saying he was feeling that
way at that moment, but a six ' nine, three
hundred something pound black guy walking up, like what's going on,
you know what I mean, Like these cops were one
of them was certainly over zealous.

Speaker 1 (31:05):
And we've seen things. Look at some of these shootings
we've seen No, no, no, it's yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
I mean, thankfully it was no issue. And he shouldn't
have been in danger.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
I mean, he didn't approach aggressively, He didn't approach violently,
you know, he wasn't. He was just like what's going
on as my teammate. And so I give him props
for for doing that.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
And they say he got hit.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
We didn't see it, but I didn't see it on
the Bible because the police can easily say this is
a police matter, sir, stay out of this, you know
what I mean, right, like, like stay out of this.
I've Chris, I was out in front of my house
once and there was something going on when you know,
growing up in New York and Jamaica, yep, And and
something was going on on the block, and the cops
were out and we were in our yard behind the

(31:57):
gate behind you know what I mean, in our house,
and he and the cop came and said, go in
the house.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
How old were you? Twelve to thirteen? You know what
I mean? Like y'all going to house, okay, and.

Speaker 2 (32:09):
And made us go in you know what I mean,
even though we were in our yard, right, we weren't
on the street, we weren't, right, but but that go
in the house, and that's what he told us. So
we didn't want to have any issue static to what
we do. Go in the house, house, right right? All right,

(33:05):
off the air. Tom Brady made as much anticipated Dey
Bud debut on Fox Sports, calling the NFL games called
the Cowboys, Browns game. Here, here's the taste of it.
And then what commentary from the NFL Red Zone host?

Speaker 2 (33:22):
This is a seventy one yard attempt and now the
Browns will call time out.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Maybe everyone's going to rethink this one. See seventy one
yard to the Jets down. Come on, Brady's got to
get more excited than that in the booth.

Speaker 4 (33:39):
And that guy apologized, right, like, yeah, he comment, but
it was it only I mean, if you watch Chris
Twitter and whatnot.

Speaker 2 (33:48):
There was a lot of people whenever you're making your
debut and you're a guy who's got a big name
like Tom Brady, people it's the same way.

Speaker 1 (33:56):
You get it both ways.

Speaker 2 (33:57):
Right, if he was great, they would be Valley who
went about how great he was, right, And it sounded
a little nervous to me. Obviously it's a work in progress,
but a lot of people, definitely, I don't know what
they were expecting because I said this to you before.
He really hasn't been that glib as a as a
player or anything, you know what I mean. So I

(34:18):
was I wasn't really surprised he was. He I thought
he was fine. I mean, I thought he was fine.
You know, he thirty. Fine, he's been on his.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Podcast and doing that and he sho showed his personality
in that. But yeah, I mean as a player, he
was never wanting to give the greatest you know quotes
and things like.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Right, that's what I'm saying. He was fine, Yah, rob
G jump in just a question.

Speaker 6 (34:45):
So tom Brady was very understated in his debut, whether
it was on purpose or not. That's how he came off.
Would you have preferred that or what we saw from
Tony Rum on his debut where he was off the
wall so excited to be there. It was like a
kid that has catched want it in.

Speaker 1 (35:00):
In the middle somewhere tom Brady was.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
But it was their first time, so you know you're
not gonna get that.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
But he sounded nervous too. That was the thing that
was your you know, you'll.

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Find your sweet spot because Romo gets a lot of career.
Romo was like everybody loved Romo, but Romo went over,
but he went over Boyd Chris like like, you know,
it's cool to like highlight a player a couple of them,
like what what's gonna come up?

Speaker 1 (35:27):
But when you do it.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Over and over and over and you're wrong starting to
be wrong on a lot of them.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
It doesn't it doesn't feel good, but you know what
I mean. I remember, I'm telling you what was that game?
That playoff game?

Speaker 2 (35:40):
Remember Mahomes came out who was a quarterback for the Chiefs,
the former Michigan Chad Henny, Channa Hendy, Chris and I
remember chant Henny was like a fourth down play like
midfield or whatever, and and and He's going, Uh, there's
no way, there's no way that they're gonna run play.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
This is just to see if they could draw somebody.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
And they went and they were and the Chiefs ran
to play and got the first down.

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Chris and I was just like, dude, like that's what
you look bad. He was like, there's no way they
run to play here. Who said that?

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Tony Romo, you know what I'm saying, like guessing and
is what I'm saying. So it works sometimes, And early
on in Tony Romo's career he was right. And so
people were like, oh, you know, listening to Tony Romo,
it's like a delicate balance. Obviously, Tom Brady's just getting started.
No one's saying that this is who he's gonna be

(36:34):
the entire career takes a while to get there.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
But for a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
Who really hadn't heard Tom Brady or wanted to hear him,
I think most people were disappointed, that's all.

Speaker 1 (36:44):
Yeah, you know, what'd you think? Alex or Rob g Alex.
I don't know if he watched the game. I'm sure
Alex did not want I was locked into every single game. CPS. No,
Rob g you heard him.

Speaker 6 (36:56):
He's okay, it was okay, it wasn't gonna maybe he
stop watching the game. But I will say Tom Brady
like an interviews, like when he jumps on the herd
or he does you know ESPN interviews, you get so
much more personality just in those moments than you do,
oh you did yesterday?

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Cause you know why sometimes guys getting jobs like this,
Rob Gene, they think they gotta be Joe Anchorman.

Speaker 6 (37:16):
Right, And and there was the only knock I'll say
on him is there was too many times where he
just kind of let the visual speak for itself, and
it's like you're there to analyze it, Tom, not to
watch it happen. So but he'll be fine. I'm sure
by the super Bowl he's going to be right. His ring.
He'll be just fine.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
I think he might quit after the season.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
I'm just saying, all right, it is the odd couple
Chris and Rob signing off. But keep it lots here
or Fox Sports Radio, the iHeartRadio app or it records.
However you're listening Jason Smith and Mike Harmon the next
