No doubt, last call as well later on in this
hour in case you don't get a chance and you
haven't gotten a chance to get in on some of
these topics, we'll be able to do that as well.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
And did you see that Dan Hurley stuff from you?
I did see. We canna definitely talk about.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
That at the bottom of the hour, just how appropriate
that is. And I get it they were yelling f
you or whatever it was throughout the game and tempers
can you know, flare and people could get upset. But
he's a college coach. He is a college he's a
role model, no is he? Yeah, supposed to be know
that at the moment. Uh No, Well, we'll get into
(01:58):
that and much more.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Brus said he didn't give a dang either, by the way,
he was like, he didn't. We'll talk about it later.
We'll talk about it later. Yeah, we got time, all right.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
So with NBA, we got the trade deadline that happened
last week. We got some first of all, the biggest
trade at least in my lifetime, and Luca and Anthony Davis.
But another one you got that happened was Jimmy Butler
heading up to the Bay. They've already played a couple
of games now with the Warriors to and O. They've
been happy about it. A conversation was had with Draymond Green.
(02:28):
Was it on his podcast? It was on the Draymond
Green Podcast. Uh, here's what he had to say about
them acquiring Jimmy Butler and what Steph Curry.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
Told him, Like, we got Jimmy Butler, Like this is
no small dude, it's Jimmy Butler. Steph after the trade,
he looked at me and he said, man, it's crazy
because it just dawned on me.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
They're like, this is it, Like this is this is
the last run? That's ron like, and I said, let's
do it. Let's right right to the hills, fall up. Yeah,
let's go out.
Speaker 6 (02:56):
It was an emotional moment, so they call it the
last drive, last ryde already, h I want Let me
first start by saying, this is another example of when
we talk about, man, can.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
Something stay between us? Can anything stay between me and you?
Speaker 3 (03:15):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Steph Curry talking to Draymond like, hey, man, it's our
last rye. Let's do what we gotta do. Let's give
it at all, Like, I didn't mean for that to
be public. That was between me and you.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
But again, Draymond has a podcast.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
He's got a podcast and says he's got you know,
folks to get to listen to the show. But I
just felt like, dang, I was between he and Steph.
But he just said it. So now it's out there,
so let's talk about it. They acquired Jimmy Butler. They
look good right now, they say. Jimmy say, look, I've
never been a guy to shoot a bunch of threes.
Steph obviously, as we know, shoots a bunch of threes.
I'm more of a defensive guy. Steph not necessarily known
(03:47):
for that. They like that they're the opposites on each end,
and they're calling this the last Ride. And I think
it makes sense, rob because remember Steph Curry said he
didn't want this organization to fall flat and give up
any everything for the sake of him to sell the
whole team for the second him and then once he's
done and you know, two, three, four years, whatever it
may be, be screwed for a decade and never be
(04:09):
the same. So this last ride actually reminds me of
kind of what we're witnessing as well in LA. Who
knows what's gonna happen. But the Lakers go out and
get Luca. Is for the future. But Lebron, I'm sure,
looks at it and says, man, this is for the now,
me and Luca for a year or two. This is
the last ride.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Now.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
While I don't believe the Warriors have enough, I don't
think Jimmy Butler moved the needle enough for them to
do anything to actually be real contenders in the Western
Conference and have a chance with.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
The rest of the team or no Warriors.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
No what I gave Andrew Wiggins, they gave up a
slow mo as they call him, and some picks as well.
But I do enjoy the idea of seeing a possible
last ride for Steph, you know, for a year or two,
last ride for Lebron, and if they're competitive, I think
that's great for the league. If your main star players
are actually competitive, not just in the as we mentioned
(05:00):
earlier a couple hours ago, not just Kevin Durant on
a Suns team that ain't really doing nothing, but if
you have a very competitive Warriors team, a very competitive
Lakers team with Lebron and Luca with Steph and Jimmy
and Draymond, and they're making noise and for the last
year this season, maybe next year. I think that'll be
good for the league as you begin to slowly start
(05:21):
ushering in the new teams that potentially in the new
Stars can take this league and hopefully, as the Adam
Silver would hope and even us fans of the game
to the next level.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
So if this is that Fast.
Speaker 4 (05:31):
Infurious last ride like we watch with the Fast and
Furious even though they're on like the sixteenth movie, I
hope it ends up being a fun one where we
get to see the last little bit of Steph and
it's fun and it's before he's broken down and old,
and the same thing with Lebron, before he's broken down
and old. I want to see another year and a
half or so where this can be entertaining. And then
they says, hand of Paton over to the win Beast,
(05:53):
the Anthony Edwards, the John Morans, the LaMelo Balls and
things of that nature.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
They don't have enough to win it.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
I think it's a desperation move and I think it's silly,
and and I get it. You want to feel like
you're not wasting staffs. She gave up Wiggins Way, who's younger.
Jimmy Butler's been banged up. He can play. I'm not
saying the guy can't play, but you're giving up picks.
You're giving up Wiggins, Like, like, that's not the future.
Do you really think you know a beat up Draymond
(06:22):
and Steph who's not even playing that well himself, it's
really gonna it's gonna like come somehow win the championship
or get to the final.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
I don't see. I think I just don't tried.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
You don't want to be in bad They were got
They lost that home this year by forty points for
forty points for zero. So I just I like, I'm
not saying you throw to toweling, but I'm not giving
up picks and I'm not giving up younger players. I
just don't understand that. If you don't, there's a lot
of teams in the West. I'm just don't. I don't
look at the Warriors as one of them.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
They're looking at it as.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
The ownership group is saying, you know how much I'm
spending on you guys. You know how much I spent
over the last seventy eight years put it.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
Off more bad money, good money after bad.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Money, and that's what they're They're saying, Hey, I need
for me, Joe Lacup, it's rings.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
So we didn't want to pay Clay but no.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
But my point is you don't want to spend money there,
But now you're gonna go and give a thirty five
year old who's been banged up, who's been I'm just saying.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
I get what you're saying it, but it is a
way better player.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
But what I'm trying to say they still they're acting
like they didn't have money for that situation. And I'm
not saying they had to break the bank. But then
you go give it to a money to a player
a who held a team hostage, right, and B.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Is heard a lot and is aging. I just I don't.
I don't see.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
The other issue though, rob with Clay was it wasn't
just simply the money. It was that he actually thought
he was better than he was and had been for
the last three years. And no, I agree with that
he had the equity without of that competitor for Jimmy
Butlers a equity.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
We didn't win anything like you could say, oh he
got the he to I get it to the finals twice,
but man, he didn't win anything. I think if you win,
it gives you a little more cash at.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
I think that thissue with Clay was where they needed
him to be.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
He didn't. He didn't want to come off the bitch.
He did it, but but grudgingly he didn't really like it.
He didn't want to give a way for the you
and he talked about it. I didn't handle the situation right.
I wasn't the most humble and best team player towards
the end.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
He wasn't. He just he got he was. He was
not that he just lost his way as a player.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
He was losing his way as a person to Clay
because he just wasn't handling all those injuries right. He
wasn't handling the new role right. It was just difficult
for him to remember. He was mad acting like he
was a top seventy five player. Clay, you had a
heck of a career, bro going to the Hall of Fame.
You're not a top seventy five player. But he was
really upset about that. So I don't know. Clay the
last few years was really not understanding where he was.
But I think the Jimmy Butler move again. I don't
(08:57):
think it's all of a sudden put them as top
three four contenders in the West.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Not in my opinion.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
I still got Okay, see, I still got Denver, I
still have the Lakers up there.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Memphis obviously would be sitting right there as well.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
But for me, if danget, we get a crazy out
of the blue run with Steph, we get a crazy
out of the run with Lebron, and.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Everybody says that, that's what I mean that, Like that
is like what.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
People I'm talking about desire what I would love to see,
Like I would love to see a last little one
run Lebron and Steph going at it before.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
We move on to this scene. I would love to Steph.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Clay and those guys can't even get in the playing,
you know what I mean? Like I'm dead serious, Like
Steph's had a chance a couple of times to advance
in the playing, and they lost once while I was
at home. I just I just went to Ring a
couple of years, Okay, but that was I'm just saying
they went that the team that lost by forty at
home this year is what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
No, they got the same two. And then if you
want to include the coach saying Cora what I'm just saying.
But that's how bad you.
Speaker 4 (09:58):
Yeah, rough, that's why they was so desperate and they're
out here they were putting it up that.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
A team that wanted so desperate.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
They were out there trying to spend the block with
Kevin Durant, and we know how bad that went.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
And it was public you want.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Leaking thing.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
It was even Kevin Durant. I'm not going back, are
you kidding?
Speaker 4 (10:15):
This wasn't a league thing, This wasn't a we wasn't
supposed to know thing. This was out there that they're like, hey, man,
come on back. I know with Draymond cust b. I
know you felt like you were getting you know, second fiddle.
I know Bob Myers when he was here was talking
about you ain't Steph and you ain't homegrown like that,
and I know all of that, but come on back.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
That's how that's what they were for sure.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
But they're in their mind they want to return on
investment all this luxury tax they're paying for all these years,
and the only way we get that is by winning rings.
And that's why they're just throwing things out there, training
and Jimmy Butler being there.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
They try to get kd's and no, I'm straight win
the championship. Where are they going?
Speaker 1 (10:49):
Oh no, no, they're not winning, no champions going to the
Western Conference finals.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
No, all right, I want the same.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
Obviously we don't. We gotta see how play like the
tournament the route don't. But the Lakers could get there
and okay, see I like that. No, no, I'm not
with the Lakers. I know you're not. This got that
game just started too, do you You didn't put money on this?
No second on this one? No, no, no, no, out
of the easy money though, because the Jazz are terrible.
That's what I said. Easy.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
But at least it's not in l A for a
second straight night. That bulls two nights of them. The
row in Chicago. I got to look at that. It's
something happened we missed was there?
Speaker 3 (11:23):
It was weird. That's why I kept looking.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
I kept looking because to your they'll play it back
to back, but they'll go to the track right right,
That's what I thought.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I was like, did they wasn't the game in Chicago
the other night? Maybe it was so bad?
Speaker 4 (11:33):
Rob they were like, now, run that back, run that
that game didn't count.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Ain't nowhere.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
There's no way we're gonna let that that let people
in for free, Just come back in here, you get
a free snack, get a free hot dog, free beer.
We're gonna were gonna run that back because ain't no
way we can have that be our actual real game,
all right?
Speaker 1 (11:50):
Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox eight seven, seven,
nine nine six sixty three sixty nine. All the New
Look Warriors legitimate contenders, you know, no, No, okay, I
say no, but maybe I'm here for the fun ride
if it's fun. But they're not contenders? Yeah, do you
think they are? With Jimmy Butler, let us know. It's

Well you good on one of your shekels at least
right now? Very nice, man, I'm on the row, four
in a row, Alice. Did you hear that? Fo in
a row? Get the fives? Get the fuck? What's the
next one we got? We had the Brooklyn and.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Philly they're still going I think yes, And then we
have Milwaukee plus seven and a half.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
We got a buck.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
Score Yeah, I have to look it up to get
on that right now?
Speaker 3 (13:28):
Yeah you know what?
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (13:30):
How you looking? Bucks are at one? Bucks?
Speaker 7 (13:32):
Up?
Speaker 2 (13:32):
One?
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Right now? What time? Much time left? No?
Speaker 1 (13:34):
No, no, no, no, no, no, I'm sorry I got that wrong. Okay,
So we got Philadelphia minus three and a half with
the nets, and we got the Patriers minus nine and
a half their tank and on Washington.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
But the game is.
Speaker 8 (13:45):
Close, right, Uh, Philly's getting smoked and Papers and Washington
are tied with less than a minute left.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Oh that's no good. I needed I needed points there,
you didn't need points? All right, it's all good. Well
I got four in a row. I'll take that, yeap hey.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
Earlier today, we had the commerce about Kevin Durant and
becoming the eighth player in NBA history, which is crazy because,
I mean, eighth in all of NBA history is an
astonishing feet to be eighth and thirty thousand club point club.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
Especially when you miss two and a half season.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
But he has just been an automatic walking bucket. So
the conversation we're having is with Kevin Durant, who is
playing right now, has the ball right now even as
we talk about and literally just hits a bucket. I mean,
it's insane what he's been able to do his whole career.
The conversation becomes, you know, where do we put.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
Him right now?
Speaker 4 (14:33):
As far as scores, I think most people know what
he is. He's one of the greatest scores and even
you know, aesthetically like just watching him, he's basically a
seven footer being able to do any and everything on
the floor. Dribble, shoot, go left, go right, post, hit
free throws, hit three point. He's mit Rangers. He is
an absolute assassin out on the court and he's a
(14:54):
main man, and that he is a finals MVP two
time over with the Warriors. But it has been a
weird seven eight years stretch for him where folks don't
like him anymore because he went to the Warriors. Folks
say he, you know, the only one because he went
to the Warriors, he jumped on their back.
Speaker 1 (15:09):
No, but that's what they say. I know what I'm saying.
I think that's a lot of people. You know that bro,
A lot of people will It would be different if
he went there and he didn't win the finals mv
and he was just like a hanger on.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
Uh he made the shot over Lebron. I mean, I
just can't.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Play the best defense of his life too, by the
way he was blocking shots and rebound it was the
best version of Kevin Duran was.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
I just and had he not gotten hurt, it probably
would have won it three three peat and three finals MVPs.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
But so then it does get weird because my biggest
issue Rob has been that he's been and I can't
find any other word but bullied out of situations and
for where how great he is arguably you know, at
the end of the at the end of their careers,
we'll see where people rank him over Steph. But for
the time being, he was better than Steph for me
(15:58):
for sure. He got bullied out of places. He was
there in Seattle first before Russell Westbrook. Then he became
obviously Oklahoma City Thunder. It was his team. Him and
Russ were a great one two, probably the best.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Watching for years, all the way up in twenty Tonalds
was unbelievable and then he bombed.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
He came yet, but later we would see that's kind
of him in the postseason, doesn't necessarily live up to
what you hope for. But leading up to that, he
was a spectacular and he was so young you thought
he'd get past that.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
It was, you know, the second third year in the league.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
So Russell Westbrook, they had issues, he and KD, and
KD wanted his own team. He wasn't relcessarily getting along
and he was ready to do something different.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
So he lee.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
He leaves where we know he was the one, he
was the OUTFA, he was the best player on the team.
But he leaves to go join with the Warriors, where
it would never be his team. It will be Steph's team,
even though he was the better player. In my opinion,
it's Steph teams his team. He's the warrior, he's a
two time ragning MVP, so on and so forth. Then
when they get into it, Draymond calls him a b
(17:02):
on National TV. We won before you, we'll want after you.
You ain't nothing.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Boy.
Speaker 4 (17:08):
Meyer's disrespective and all that he leaves, and it's like
he keeps getting bullied and instead of going like I'm
about to go here do this and go be the
man on the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
No, Kyrie, hey, come with us, me and you hard.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I don't blame those guys for not wanting at that
time to play for the Knicks, even though they are
the bigger, But where he was in.
Speaker 4 (17:26):
His career, it's not not where I'll get it right.
He's on the tail end of his no.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
But I'm saying, even at that time, their owner is
a bad owner. He more concerned about his rock band,
you know what I mean. And that's where like nobody,
nobody really wanted to go to the Knicks.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Last person really really was mellow the last you.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Know what I'm saying, Like, like so I'm not surprised
Kyrie grew up in New Jersey as a Nets fan,
so his allegiance.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
But what I'm saying is again, which the best of
the three, and yet he's just all right, cool, we'll
go there. And it's just it's weird. You never felt
him take control of situation, being like the man. And
that's what makes it weird when for his talent, for
a decade decade plus, maybe he was the second best
player behind Lebron, and he always said he wanted to
be I'm tired of being literally second fiddle.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Though Lebron went everywhere like it's not as very like
when you look at Lebron. The reason a lot of
especially former athletes, don't respect Lebron totally is because of
the movement and because of he always had to stack
his team. And that's why there are people, despite all
the numbers, despite all the stuff that he's done, there
are people who will never give him that.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
And I'm talking about from his own peer.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
The counter would be he went and he completely shifted
the franchise, meaning but he didn't win Ornobody. But he
always say literally he won with every team he went
to Miami one, but he didn't ninety one I hear
you like to play twenty two years with your championships,
seven rings or something like that.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
I'm with you.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Even Tom Brady who's played a long time, he has
the most. At least you're gonna play the forty five.
You got the most. You know, most guys with quarterbacks
are done at thirty five or thirty three or thirty four.
So Brady, if you're gonna play the forty five, then
you gotta win. Remember he won those three early nine years,
didn't win and then if it wasn't for the flurry
(19:18):
at the end, you know, you wouldn't be talking about
Tom Brady, wouldn't even be a conversation.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
He wouldn't be a running But that's a massive flurry.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
You gave full set back in and so but I'm
saying with Lebron, that's the difference. When Lebron went to
these teams, it was a seismic shift, meaning he was
in control what do we call le gm. He was
in control of teams. You felt his presence.
Speaker 3 (19:37):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
But even though likes when you look at it, like
like to me, I get it. They won the Bubble championship.
It's a championship, accounts. But there's a lot of disappointment
that came here as well, like the like they didn't make.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
The playoffs few times not you want more, tell me
what I'm saying. Let's say they went eighty two. My
point is you felt his presence on an organization, is
what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Whether they could be, they could be.
Speaker 4 (20:01):
You could be underwhelmed, you could be overwhelmed, you could
be perfectly satisfied. You felt Lebron's present. He has control,
he's running the team, he's running the organization. They're doing
everything to cater to him. They put his son Miami.
They let like you felt his presence, good batter and different,
winning or losing with KD just ghost places outside of
the wards when he was still but he just goes there,
like like if Lebron went to or Steph Curry went
(20:24):
to Phoenix, it would be a seismic shift, it would
be the thing. He just in Phoenix. He went to
Brooklyn out He's just in Brooklyn. And that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
That it's that Bucks championship that should have been his,
that was the one that would have changed.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
He had the Ravens big toe, that big toe.
Speaker 1 (20:40):
I mean, I'm just saying it would it would have changed, Yeah,
and I want to win with an organization that had
never won.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Anything that would have been made.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
And it would have been him like he Even though
we know you and I both, that's one thing we
do agree on.
Speaker 3 (20:54):
He was the best player in the Warriors. That's for me.
That's not even really people.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
Who do that and make that, I just I don't
know how they watched that and really think that he wasn't.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
Because what he was doing on both sides of the
floor for those few years he was there, You've never
seen them defend like that. One of the best defenders
in the league for a few years. Best, he was rebounding,
obviously scoring, Yeah, it was. It was incredible to me.
But yeah, but I think that's a part of it
is that he hasn't had that where he controlled a
franchise like a Kobe did, like a Jordan did, like
(21:22):
Magic did, like Bird so on, where you felt his presence.
It was seismic shifts because KD has arrived like you
would hope. All right, I want to hear what you
got to say about Dan Hurley, who got some fans.
We'll have a conversation about that in just a moment
right now, We're gonna get you set on what's trending
with Mark Weiss.
Speaker 2 (21:40):

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Coach of Yukon the Yukon Huskies going up against Creighton
and has some words for some fans. As a matter
of fact, felt good about those words that he had
to say to them.
Speaker 8 (22:02):
Rob g you yes, yes, yes, Okay, I'll take it
over sure, Rob, So I'm here.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
It's just I thought you were gonna keep going, and
then he.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Just just And then I was like, okay, Well I
wanted you to say you wanted to Rob, you to
say it.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
Okay. Now you know when dub sets it up. No,
it's not. They said, he sounds too much like a
news man. That's the problem. You won't be Okay, let
me let me give you one a little more, Robb.
And now he's like, Dan Hurley, you played yesterday crazy.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Let's go with a live report with Sarah Wallace that
he's on the scene.
Speaker 7 (22:33):
Well, Dan Hurley gone, Huskies so crazy, yes, crazing you
know they've been pretty good for for a minute now, right, Yeah,
they had just come off a nine game winning streak.
Speaker 8 (22:46):
They were down by fourteen points in this game, and
it was all looking bad.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
Once again for Dan Hurley this season.
Speaker 8 (22:52):
This season, even though they're seventeen and seven, has been
a down year for them.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
I think it's pretty safe to say so.
Speaker 8 (22:57):
Of course, Dan Hurley being Dan Hurley, the same guy
who told a referee don't turn your back on me.
Speaker 3 (23:04):
I'm the best e fing coach in the sport. Well,
I'm glad you brought that. Thank you.
Speaker 8 (23:08):
So he's getting into it with some of the fans there,
and when Yukon erased that deficit went on to win
a key win over a ring opponent heading into the tournament,
they caught him on a hot mic yelling at a
Creighton fan two rings, Baldy pointing to his ring face.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
Baldy, you see what Dan Hurley looks like, ball half.
He ain't George Clooney.
Speaker 8 (23:35):
And you know what's funny about the whole situation is
normally when that happens, the coaches and micd up they
just kind of see the back and forth. This one
was caught right on camera so he couldn't hide from
h Yeah, and he's doing showing off his finger and
everything like that. So he said afterwards, he basically yeah,
he kind of confirmed the exchange. He said, I'm not
gonna lie to you. That was very gratifying. I waited
(23:56):
up some people.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
I just wish there was more of them still left.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
That was him saying that they exited the they were winning,
so we went full dad hurly what he did. My
only thing is, and I get it, Rob G and
Kelvin they were yelling f you or whatever, Adam Like,
I get it. But as the coach, the role model,
the gentleman, the grown up to set an example for
(24:21):
your kids, I just think that's one of those things
where you just got to accept it. You're on the road,
you know, college kids they drink. It was dollar beer
night too, Did I throw that in? It was dollar
beer night, so people had the beer goggles and the
beer courage and all that going on. And all I'm
saying is it looks classless. It does.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
And Rob G, I'm glad you're doing the other thing he.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Said about the referee, because he's been doing that all year. Like,
I don't know if it was because the Lakers were
trying to hire him and he turned them down.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
I get it that he's coming off two championships.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
I get all that, but but there's an air of
arrogance and and like this class to you. You don't
have to stoop as low as other people or people
in a group. You know that the lowest common denominated.
When people are in a group, they'll do stuff that
they would never do to your face individually.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
And you got to understand that. I just think it's
a bad look for him.
Speaker 4 (25:18):
Man, clap back. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of
grown people. Sixteen year olds don't go to games on themselves, right,
you can't you you're at home. This is grown people.
I don't care if it's twenty one and seventy one. Daggett,
you talking about me. You're screaming at me all the time.
Every now and again, you deserve a clapback. I'm not
saying you do everyone. I'm not saying you you argue
with everybody, because otherwise you be doing it all day
(25:39):
long as a player as a coach. But dagget I
don't mind the clap back every now and again to
remind these fans that you are a fan and I'm
down here doing it, coaching, playing, whatever it may be,
and have a little fun with it too. Plus we
talk about this from what we do. I don't mind
having a little player with an edge. I don't mind
having a coach with as a little edge to them
that says something every now and again, that's a little
rowdy every now and again.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
I think it makes it good for what we do.
Speaker 4 (26:02):
I think it makes it good for sports that everybody
is in the exact same You know, everybody's.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
Gonna be the same.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
But the model that comes with with winning and being
a role model in college, it's not the role get
not the pros.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
That's what I'm saying. How I handle these guys like you,
I'm handling them. Yeah, but they see you doing stuff
like that.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
And that's why the refere we think, because he's been
you've been feeling about That's what I'm saying, no doubt
about a lot more than he did before he won
that second one.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
And remember, didn't they lose their first two games. It
ain't been They've lost some games. They lost quite a
few games.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
I thought they lost the first two in Hawaii and
that's got off to a bet and then they lost
some us.
Speaker 3 (26:43):
It got so bad he said, I'm never coming here again.
I'm never doing this kind of format. Do you remember that?
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Like that, like like all of a sudden, everybody go
to Hawaii and now because you lost, when when you
were going there the other two years and you were winning,
it was all right, Now you're not coming back.
Speaker 4 (26:57):
Gonna be when he comes back from I ain't never
coming back. You better wait till I go on that
leave for six weeks. Oh my, you're gonna have to
bribe me to come back. And you know what, Rob
g They tapped Ince in Hawaii?
Speaker 5 (27:11):
You know?
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Did you know that? No? I know you do the hula.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
You just can't hear it because of the sad Oh jeez,
Alex nothing.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
Rob and I had a very complimentary the last four
or five days.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Truly, if Rob is gonna take.
Speaker 4 (27:28):
Five steps backwards, Rob, all right, I'm like, how many
times do I've been going?
Speaker 3 (27:33):
All right? That was a good one. I gotta give
you that. I got that.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Then you're gonna do it. You know what you just did?
You did a Michael Parkson just because you could. Don't
mean you don't have to say that into the mic.
Speaker 9 (27:41):
You know for a fact, when ROBG is gone for
over a month, you're gonna be calling Robbie like Rob listen,
how's about fifty k of my pace sound to come back?
I need you trust.
Speaker 8 (27:52):
He's gonna be a long time inside the parking money
you could have it.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
That's all right, Rob, I died. Robb G.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
You're gonna have to put on a do not disturb
Rob Parker because he's gonna hitting you.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
I know you're busy, I know you love your family.
Real quick, I'm gonna say with his video your thoughts on, Hey,
real quick, can you send me this back?
Speaker 4 (28:08):
Real quick? Real quick? Hey, when the cheese lost, give
me the cheese losing numbers, when they lose on the road,
Text it to me right now, real quick.
Speaker 8 (28:18):
She does.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
Though, you've got a producer who's sipping on my ties,
enjoying himself in Hawaii with the fan.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
But Alex is probably.
Speaker 1 (28:25):
The best one. And I've never done this to Rob G.
I'm dead serious, and I don't know what came over me.
I just we're having breakfast with Chris Broussard. All of
us was here. This was the worst Calvin Rob. I'm
actually sitting next to Rob G and he orders pancakes,
No one, big one, right, robb G.
Speaker 3 (28:45):
And I just looked at him and I said, is
that a pancake?
Speaker 4 (28:49):
As if it was anything else, Alex, as if it
was macaroni and cheese.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
I immediately start to cut me a piece when I
don't even I didn't even ask him.
Speaker 8 (28:59):
Did I? And that reminded me that dumb noses having kids.
It reminds me so much of my daughter. Over your shoulder,
what you got?
Speaker 3 (29:07):
What's that?
Speaker 4 (29:09):
And you already know they're gonna my three year old?
She here, let me give me something. She hears this,
what do you got? She know it's a snack about
the you know, you know how you have that moment.
I'm about to have this whatever the thing is, candy
bar moment. This candy bars back of the Rito's like
my moment. I deserve this. As soon as she hears
(29:29):
what's that?
Speaker 3 (29:30):
I want something? You don't even know what it is,
but I want something.
Speaker 4 (29:32):
And if you're about to open it, that man can't
even have a pancake to him, So he couldn't order
his bread the night before all Rob.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
He was forced to do was eat. I wasn't literally butter,
I was on the move just for a little slice
of the pancake. And I didn't want to order a pancake. Rob,
you only have one.
Speaker 4 (29:47):
The worst part about it is Rob cut you the pancake.
Rob that you didn't fight him, you didn't argue, you
didn't pull back up the menu.
Speaker 8 (29:56):
And I feel like I had just had a come
with one of you. I don't remember which one. It
was going to the meat a center where I said
one of my biggest turn offs by behavior you said
that they hum up. They'd be like, hey, we all
got food at the dinner table, like, oh, what'd you get?
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Let me have them? Try to peace. No, I ordered
this for me. If I wanted what you had, i'd
be ordering that. But I don't know.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
I ordered breakfast, but I was just I saw a
pancake and I just was like, pancake.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
No, it's a freaking no, it's a freaking in and
out Burger pancake.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
You know.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
It's funny. I've been a single man for a long time.
Speaker 9 (30:26):
That Rob Parker comment would have went right over like yeah,
it's a pancake and kept beating. Now that I have
a girl. She always says, like, what's that one you want?
Does fries sound good? Which means I want fries? Pancakes
sound good? We want to ask you about your Is
that good? That means I want something? It looks good
and I want something. There you go, Rob. He just
didn't even hesitate, He didn't even look. Rob's my work wife.
(30:47):
Here's your work wife. So I was mad at you.
We can't both be husbands, Rob, what evidence says?
Speaker 4 (30:57):
The evidence has you being a woman, Rob Last eight

Alex just said his girlfriend? Does that move? My wife?
Does that move? Rob G's move? You're the workwife in
this case?
Speaker 9 (31:13):

She tells me that she don't want to be listening
to that sports because she got into sports man like
I am.
Speaker 3 (32:48):
Well, tell her, don't touch the odd couple. Tell her
we got her. She'll enjoy it.
Speaker 10 (32:54):
I tell her all the time. I'll to mess with it.
She don't listen that You're.
Speaker 4 (32:57):
Gonna be sleeping on the couch if you keep doing hey,
you know, oh yeah, down.
Speaker 10 (33:01):
To the cops. To, especially if I want to watch
something that she don't want to watch when we're going
to bed.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Yeahs, all right, so what you got?
Speaker 10 (33:08):
Uh yeah, listen, Robbie, you should have told him to
order his own pancakes. The same thing like I got
a four year old daughter, man, and she does the
same thing any time to go anywhere, opening anything she
wants that she wants some.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
Yeah, you know what knows what it is.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
I know I shouldn't have taken a piece of his pancake.
I didn't want to hold pamp But that's.
Speaker 10 (33:29):
The best part chester Chester stuff and and she gets
her own stuff, but she still takes stuff off our plate.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Chester.
Speaker 4 (33:36):
The best part about this was this wasn't even his
own money. He could have just got it and he
could have got some pancakes and Fox Sports Radio was paying.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
It wasn't even his own money. He could have let
me go ahead, get some let me get extra pancake.
Speaker 4 (33:47):
And robb g didn't even batter eye, did blink, didn't look,
he just started cutting, just tried to help me out.
Speaker 3 (33:54):
In fact, that man drizzled some syrup on it for you.
I know he did not. I think he did like
a perfect little drill like, I hed get the speak.
Speaker 8 (34:01):
Speaking to Douve's point, whoever put their card down was
immaterial because we're all getting reimbursed. Anyways, I noted, I
don't know if y'all noticed. Rob's like, no, I got it. No, no, no,
I got it. I said, no, no, no, I got it.
The one person at the table did not pull out
a single cash check, money order, debit card. He's like,
(34:24):
I'll just charge my portion in the room.
Speaker 3 (34:26):
No he didn't. Was that Christmas?
Speaker 4 (34:31):
We're all we're all the same company to Yeah, we're
all hotel.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Wow. Yeah, look at Alex. You already knew.
Speaker 8 (34:40):
Alex it was. It was good to see. I told
you that you ruined it, Rob, you ruined it. If
this was two years ago, he may have come out
of pocket.
Speaker 4 (34:52):
The wings to go just because the streets wanted to
know to the streets were asking going up about a
double breakf it's or anything.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
No, you just order you got a double meal. You's
got one here and one to go.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
What if I ordered it all at the restaurant and
then took home leftovers.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
It's the same thing, because nobody orders a double thing
on somebody else's day. If we all go out there.
This everybody got I will say, you get a meal,
you get a meal, you get me. Nobody goes and
let her get another meal. Alex, how what's time to
We have time? Okay, so I will say this. So
I had ben mallows warm it up.
Speaker 1 (35:24):
So I was supposed to be a double date my
brother and his girl and this woman I was seeing
in Detroit. And she came mad late to the dinner.
Your girl, your date, yes, okay, mad late. So she
was so late I was like, just order your food.
We're not waiting, you know what I mean, Like, oh,
I'm on my way, I'm on my wait. But she
(35:44):
didn't come. Like, so we order, we eat. She shows
up and they're giving us a bottle of champagne. They
recognized me and just said, hey, it's some champagne.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
But when she got there late after we had had dinner,
had to or whatever, she wanted to order dinner to go.
I was like no, no, no, I was like, the
check has been paid for, it's all done.
Speaker 3 (36:09):
If you want to order something, order yourself. Put up.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
You're not gonna come a hour and a half late
to a date and then order a meal to go.
Speaker 3 (36:16):
That I wouldn't stand for.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
What was the Yeah, were you dating? Was his first
maybe one we were dating.
Speaker 1 (36:23):
But I put but you know, but early on in dating,
early on like we were like, I'm not paying for that.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
If you're dating, you gotta do it right. No, no, no,
all right, you pulled that off. That's why you're not
dating anymore. That's that's why.
Speaker 3 (36:37):
And that's why I got extra one hundred dollars in
my wallet.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Yeah, and stot lead that man pastries along his bread
and his pancakes.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
Please.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harmon is coming up
next radio show.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
I never hear it, so I never did you hear
that
