New Costco Store Opens In Sharon

Sharon welcomes a new arrival in the form of a massive warehouse. WBZ's Chaiel Schaffel has more.

Long before the sun rose and the ribbon was cut.
Donald a man his post here at the brand new
Costco and Sharon.

I got here four fifteen am.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
And he wasn't even the first in line. That guy
flew in from California and camped out overnight. They were
after a special edition bourbon. But this new store has
been the talk of town for years, and now it's
finally here.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I get stuff like paper towels, makes the membership really
worth it. And then it's nice having one like now
five minutes away from home.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
The context is key. Sharon has been trying to do
something with this land for close to two decades. I
actually grew up here. They've been talking about this since
I was ten years old.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
You know, I actually was in high school when the
idea first came out in the concept of Sharon Gallery
or at the time, I think it was even called
Sharon Commons. It's been years in the making.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
This is Costco's first new location in the state in
more than twenty years. It's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, best Costco we've been too yet.
