Not The Podcast

Not The Podcast

This is not the podcast I was planning to do, but it will have to do until I do what I intended. I used to do a podcast called Schnauzer Logic back when people would say, "What's a podcast?" Then I had an idea for a new podcast but got stuck and decided to try a different podcast and that fell apart too and now I'm doing another podcast. But this was not the podcast I was planning to do. And people no longer ask, "What's a podcast?" but instead ask, "What's it about?", and the answer to that question is much easier: This podcast is about me. Enjoy!

I had a plan to mark the 10th episode anniversary of my podcast with a special discussion that I actually planned in advance and just as I was heading into the studio there was a knock on my front door and my friend Kirsten was there for a surprise visit. So I invited her into the studio and she asked if we could record together and I said, Let's Try, and quickly set up a second mic and headphones and pressed Record. This is a ...

Feels like every 5 months is a good time to record another episode of my weekly podcast. (Ewww...Ehhh...Ahhh...Insert Rodney Dangerfield Tugging At His Collar Emoji Here). But seriously folks, this feels like a good one. Fair amount of rambling (you love it!), and also talk about my guitar teacher calling me a "Hobbyist" (which is still bothering me) and a screenwriting coach saying I should have a one-woman-show. So swings...

Three weeks in a row! (Great, kid! Don't get cocky.) This is all about my first time out as an Uber driver and a little about the anti-trans sh*tshow wrapped around Spitfire Audio and getting booted from a music composers FB group simply for saying I no longer felt welcome (thereby proving my point!). Also we have beautiful 3" die cut stickers. Just drop me a note with your mailing address.

Full Disclosure: I'd give myself a B- (grading on a curve) for this episode. Not only do I say uhh and umm and swallow and smack my lips an annoying amount, but I ramble for the first half and then don't even have the details on the shows I want to recommend in the second half. I'll do better because I want to do better, and if you decide to drop off early I'll understand. But don't worry... pretty soon there wi...

It's a new episode. Lots of angst. Lots of insight. Some complaining about The White Lotus. If you like this kind of thing, this is the kind of thing you'll like.

I don't know how time passes so quickly (while that eggplant parmesan sandwich I had last weekend seems to still be hanging around), but here's a new episode. I thought I might talk about the sh*tshow that is Twitter or the amazing song parody I wrote of Sweet Child O' Mine, which I transformed into Sweet Biodesign (I'm the Weird Al of Academia!), but none of that happened and I still managed to talk for more than 3...

Mental health issues... they're not just for breakfast! After a 2 month break (it's not you, it's me), an energetic if somewhat 'rough' return to form. I talk a bit about cycling (no bike required) and triggers (no Lone Ranger required) and the parallels between mania and doing a podcast. I know this may sound heavy, but there's a lot of giggling (some even in appropriate places!).

Oh, and Grain Churner is no...

Every day and in every way I'm getting better and better... or at least a little less bad. We (and by 'we' I mean 'me') flex a bit about doing some home electrical (and not getting electrocuted or starting a fire), and about why I decided to delete the Clubhouse app from my phone.

First actual episode, except for the last episode which was kind of an actual episode too. I talk about critical thinking vs empathy, needing to be able to root for fictional characters, and how to solve PI to 284 places using some toothpicks, a piece of fishing line, and some unsalted cocktail peanuts.
