Episode 142: Review of “Companion”: A Humorous and Bloody AI Story

Companion was the choice for this week's Mystery Movie Monday, and I viewed it beforehand. I had no prior knowledge of it, which was a great thing because one of the best parts of the film was learning about the premise. Here's another reason I don't watch trailers. There is a lot of intrigue in this film, particularly at the beginning as we learn more and more. It's also unexpectedly funny; at a few points, the whole auditorium burst out laughing. For the most part, I was enjoying it, but a couple factors prevented me from really enjoying it. The third act seems unsure of its direction and lingers.
