Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today is International Women's a Day, and it's full title
is United Nation's Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.
You call the people curvy. That's curvy of you. Your
show is helmed by strong women. I quit first, but
they said they were gonna fire me for punching somebody.
But you International Women's Day. Choose celebrating International Women's Day.

(00:31):
We want to look the Alis, Duran and the Morning show.
Good morning everybody. Yeah, it's I think it's International Women's Day.
I'm Danielle. Hello, Gandhi, Hello Danielle. I'm super excited we
get to host this thing today. Yes, hello Sam, Good
morning ladies. I know will be bringing in Diamond, will

(00:54):
be bringing Indiana and Ali throughout the morning, so all
the ladies are here for a little before we start.
And I just say thank you to the guys because
being a woman on this show is amazing because you
guys always support us and you're always you've always held us,
held us high. So thank you. Yes, all right, we
love you. I mean without you we'd be nowhere, all right,

(01:17):
So I love you. We're gonna kick it off with
the first song of the day. It's a little bit
harmony and Boss listen to the lyrics. It's Happy International
Women's Day. Actually I should say Happy International Women's Day. Hello,
it's Gandhi and Danielle is here. We're gonna be hosting
the show today. Sam is gonna pop in of course,
as well as Ali and Dianna and Diamond. But the

(01:38):
guys are still here and we appreciate them. Yes, hello,
we get to you them the way we want today.
Apartment do that anyway? Oh? Yes, sorry, kind of very clear.
The women always rule this show, doesn't matter, doesn't matter
what day of the year. That's right, But all the
guys are here. So Hello, Froggy, how are you? I'm good?

(02:00):
How are you? Oh? Fantastic? Elvis is here hanging out
in in his What are you in the basement? I
know it's your studio. Where is your studio? Studios in
the basement, studio in the basement. Elvis is here in
the basement. Yes, Scary is back at Master Control. Hello,
Scar where I always am? Yep? Scottie Bee is that
back there too? And of course we have producer Straight Nate,

(02:21):
who has already hit us with the first caller of
the day, and we're already getting frustrated at him. So, Elvis,
still you're paying today? I know he's frustrating. Am I frustrating?
I don't know why you're frustrating. You're just taking you
a while with the first caller because it's not about you,
it's about it's about the women. So shut did ye? Why?
Whether that is it all good? We're a Maria has

(02:42):
a great story. Okay does she? Let's go talk to
Maria Morello. Hi? How are you? I'm wonderful? Oh my god,
it's grandy. Hey, Hello, what's going on? I am just
coming home from my third job. Um, getting ready to

(03:05):
get ready to start my second one. Oh and uh,
thankfully I don't have to work my third one tonight. Wow.
So you hold it down, that's for sure, my goodness.
I do hold it down, Danielle. Yes, I do three job.
God bless you. When you sleep, Maria, um between the
hours of ten and two. Wow, that is not enough time.

(03:29):
You have to get more sleep. Hey, do you have
something to give her more sleep? Should ask her about
her mom? Oh? Tell us about your mom? My mom? Um?
My mom was my hero. Um. She passed away about
four years ago. Friday was her birthday, but she was

(03:50):
a single mom. Just like me. Um. She raised three kids,
my brother and my sister and myself by herself. She
put herself through college starting at thirty eight. She worked
as an accountant in a CPA until six months before
she passed away. Wow, but that just shows us you
got your drive from your mom. She instilled in you

(04:13):
all these amazing qualities. Yes, I did very much. So well,
thanks for listening to us on your very short time
between your jobs there, Nate. Do we have a prize
for her? Let's give her something? This is I wish
I had something better to give this we do too.
You should find it. I'll look for something and I'll
give her something more. Okay, cool, Nate promises to give

(04:34):
you something. You don't know what that is and hope
it has a monetary value on it, but you never know,
you know what. I gotta say something, Maria Nandie Danielle. Yes,
being International Women's Day, you're going to hear a lot
about moms today because mothers mothers. As you just told
that your story, Maria, mothers really are the superstars. You
really are the superstars. And we have our own mom.

(04:55):
And Danielle so absolutely has. She is like some sort
of fibian. I have a lot of plants too, and
some fish. I have a snail. But I also have
a mom and I love her very much and she
has been so instrumental in my life. So I totally
get it. You're a great example of that, Maria. Well,

(05:15):
thank you for the morning. Oh it's so wonderful to
talk to you guys. I listen to you guys every day.
Thank you. Do we have to do horoscopes? Now? We do.
We're trying to move it along. We don't know what
we're doing here, Yes we do. We can absolutely do
this without the guys telling us what to do. We
can do it. Thank you. We're going to put you

(05:36):
on hold and hopefully Nate finds something good for you well,
and he's gonna flirt with you in the process. I know,
of course. All right, Sam, who are you doing horoscopes with? God?
Do you want to help me out this morning? I
would love to help you out this morning. If you
are celebrating a birthday today, Happy birthday. As soon as
I find the horoscopes, I'll tell you who you're celebrating with.
And I don't see them. This is exciting, this is

(05:58):
got him. Happy birthday. To you, to Freddie Prince's junior,
and to James Vanderbeek. The nineties are having a big
day to day Capricorn. The people around you are looking
to you for guidance, so be open to hearing their problems.
Your day is at ten Aquarius. Try to fix your
restless nature before it gets out of hand. Your days

(06:20):
try to avoid any confrontation. Your day is an eight Aries.
Be ready to go with the flow and allow yourself
to live in the moment. Your days and eight Taurus.
Throw your plans out the window and be ready to
start all over. Your day is an eight Gemini. Double

is a nine oh Leo. An unexpected bit of news
could cause your emotions to spiral. Be sure that you
can rely on the people around you for help. Your

(07:01):

to the important details you may have missed at first glance.
Your day is a nine. And finally, Sagittarius, allow those

(07:24):

You might be considering your days of nine. And those
are your Monday morning horoscopes. Thank you, ladies. Yes, it's
time for Three Things with Gandhi. Yes, and I just
want to say too before we get into the three things.
We have a lot of stuff lined up today. We
have games. We have some of our favorite women coming

(07:44):
onto the show to talk to us about why they're
such badasses in their lives. And I think some of
the games might be very entertaining for you today. At
least they'll be entertaining for Danielle and I. Yeah, we'll
have fun. We will have fun. All that's coming up?
All right? Doctor Fauci is warning about the possibility of
a fourth COVID nineteen wave, urging Americans to be as
careful as possible as the country starts to reopen, much

(08:05):
to the dismay of many health officials. He noted that
the New York variant is alarming because it is resistant
to some effective treatments and it's spreading. Fauci added that
we are headed in the right direction, but we can't
ease up now. In the meantime, restaurants throughout New York
will be able to open at seventy five percent capacity soon. Yesterday,
Governor Cuomo said that indoor capacity will increase on March nineteenth. However,

(08:26):
New York City restaurants are not included in this move
and will remain at thirty five percent capacity. Millions of
Americans could start seeing fourteen hundred dollar coronavirus relief payments
as soon as next week. The House is expected to
vote this week on the one point nine trillion dollar
coronavirus relief package the Senate passed over the weekend. If
the House approves it, the bill will go to the

(08:47):
White House for President Biden's signature, and direct payments to
millions of Americans would start going out. And finally, we've
been talking about it all morning, You're going to hear
a lot from Danielle and I. Because it's International Women's Day.
This year's campaign theme is Choose to Challenge. The goal
is to encourage people to choose to call out gender
bias and inequality while seeking out and celebrating women's achievements. So, fellas,

(09:09):
we expect to be celebrated a lot today. And those
are your three things. We celebrate you every day. I
know you are actually great. Yeah, you guys are awesome stuff.
All right, So coming up next, we're going to do
feel goods with Sam. We're gonna we have a bunch
of really cool facts about women that you probably didn't
know that we're going to give you throughout the morning. Um,
and you might get to ask the girls on the

(09:30):
show anything within reason today, right reason? Yeah, reasonable. We
can call up and ask us things they wanted to
ask us. But like we said, do you know, let's
nothing perverted. Guys, this is a day. Yes, yes, yes
it is. You're in charge, all right, all right, we'll

(09:51):
see you're back. Hey, this is Diana Moore and I'm
the video producer for Elvis Strand in the Morning Show.
An influential woman in my life is my cousin Lisa.
She spent years of her life dedicated to cancer research
while also battling breastcancer herself, and she was there for
my mom and I while my mom bound breast cancer
this past year. I truly admire her celebrating International Women's Day.

(10:14):
Alvas Duran and The Morning Show. Hey, it's Gary Jones.
State Farm is the real deal when it comes to
car and home insurance. For personalized service and an award
winning easy to use mobile app just part of what
makes their rates so surprisingly great. So when you want
the real deal, like a good neighbor, State Farm is
there celebrating International Women's Day. O. Good ladies, Malassie alvas

(10:39):
Duran and The Morning Show. Good morning everyone, Happy International
Women's Day. We are so happy to be here celebrating
with you today. It's Danielle and Gandhi's here. Hey, Sam
is here, and the other ladies are going to be
joining us very very soon. So I know, Gandhi and
I were so intrigued by a bunch of facts that
we found about women, like women invented some really really

(11:03):
cool things, and it was kind of like what get
out of here, Like, Okay, did you know that women
invented circular saws. What aquium? Right? Aquariums, the ice cream maker,
computer algorithms, submarine telescopes, the dishwasher globes, the life raft,

(11:25):
the fire escape, the car heater, central heating, and even
the medical syringe. Real, how about that? This is where
you go shut off to aquariums? Yes, I mean, okay,
slemen did it? No offense? Who ever invented the aquarium?
It's just like it's just a glass bowl. Really good,
you think about it, But but who put fish in

(11:45):
there before a woman decided it would be a really
cool thing to look at? Right, No one could have
wound up being something stupid inside of that, not a
not fished. The circular saw, the circular saw and central heating.
Really yeah, So next time you tell me I don't
know what I'm doing at lows, do you think about that? Okay, Danielle, Please,

(12:08):
next time Nate dismembers a body with a circular saw,
you can thank women. That's right. That's way too messy
to use a circular the aquarium. Yes, Also, did you
know that women actually invented the first monopoly game? And
it was all to show the evils of unchecked capitalism.
It was patented back in nineteen oh four. That's thirty

(12:30):
years before a man patented a very similar game and
then sold it to Parker Brothers. So without women, monopoly
wouldn't exist either, exactly unchecked capitalism. And then she got
ripped off. You know, she didn't get any money for
that nothing. There's also still though in the world, there's
still a lot of injustice when it comes to women,

(12:51):
and we wanted to talk about that a little bit too.
We're not going to make it super heavy, but there
are some crazy facts going on. I mean that are
still happening right now. Did you know at women earn
more than sixty percent of all college degrees in the
United States, but we're still paid eighty one cents to
the dollar for all of our male counterparts. Boo to that.
And when considering both paid and unpaid work like housework

(13:14):
and childcare, women work proximately thirty minutes more per day
or thirty nine more days per year than men actually do.
Interesting we make less time or you work to it.
We definitely do. We do, all right, Sam, We need
you to make us feel good. Lady, all right, I
got you guys. Of course you knew I was going
to be featuring a brave woman for Today's feel Goods

(13:36):
and it was submitted by Bethany Mutson. So, the girl's
name is Liza Scott and she's been suffering from massive
seizures lately, and last month was told that she needs
to have multiple brain surgeries to revocate this so as
Froggy can attest to, and we all know that's just
super frightening, and even with insurance, it's going to cost

(13:58):
a lot of money. So I decided, I can't even imagine.
She decided it would soothe her to try and raise
some of the surgery money herself before she goes in
for it. But here's the incredible part. This girl is
seven years old. She started a lemonade stand in her
local bakery run by her grandfather, and insisted on staying

(14:19):
there all day to raise money. She charges a quarter
four a glass, but of course people have been paying
so much more, and in two days, this girl made
herself over twelve thousand dollars, Oh my gosh, and the
community has been so inspired, and not everyone can get there,
so her mom has started an online collecting of money.

(14:39):
They have over three hundred thousand dollars in donations and
everyone's just so inspired by this seven year old girl,
so we wish her the best. We know her surgery
is coming up. And thank you so much Bethany for
the submission. And if you have a story that deserves
to be featured, email me Sam at elvistrand dot com,
subject line feel goods and Sam, what did you have

(15:00):
for dinner last night? Oh? I have so much left
over catering food from my sister's wedding on Friday. I
don't even know what I'm eating anymore. It's just like
lopped on a plate. You have party girl voice. I
think he totally Did you have fun at the wedding? Though?
It was so much, so much fun. I want to
do it all over again, But not really because it
was high stress, but it was so much fun. It

(15:21):
sounds like it. And coming up, we've got Danielle's entertainment report.
I know we have tons of talk about off the air.
We were all just gossiping about the Meghan Marko Prince
Harry interview. But what do you have coming, daniel Yeah,
we're gonna talk all about that. Katie Corix is taking
over Jeopardy today. Liam needs some surprise, some people at
a movie theater, so a lot of fun stuff to
talk about, and of course tons of games. It's International

(15:42):
Women's Day, guys. How are you doing, Elvis? Are you
still with us? You still have to I'm intrigue. I'm
watching the text messages. I just looked over a lot
of people were doing some great things. I forgot the
ladies we're hosting today. This is such a great surprise.
Good luck. Love listening to you guys. Happy International Women's
Day to some of the most badass women out there.
I love supporting courage, equality. Hello, lady, they're they're loving

(16:03):
the show. Happier full men's Day of my sisters. I
love this. That's very happy. I'm happy too. I'm back
and join the Showbody, use me and abuse me whatever
you me. We have a lot of abuse planned out
for later in the day for you guys. So we're
excited about that. Direct most of that toward Froggy and
straight ename okay normally does Hey, We'll be back with

(16:29):
Danyelle's Entertainment and tons more right after this International Women's Day.
Celebrating International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and the Morning Show.

choose to create history, not to be created by celebrating
International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and the Morning show, Good morning,

(18:15):
It's International Women's Day. Ali, Ali, was that you on
that on the promo? I thought our digital director she was.
That was her voice you just heard on the promo.
That was awesome. I just say something, Yeah, thank you
to Ali and her voice and Josh who did this
incredible production for the day. Yes, just for International Women's Day. Fabulous.

(18:36):
Thank you, back back to you, thank you, thank you.
So we do have our ladies with us. Dianna is
gonna be with us, Sam Diamond, Ali, we are going
to um let you guys basically ask us anything within reason.
No perverts allowed, please, No foot fetish people. You know
the requests we get on Instagram, fetish people get on

(19:00):
that's entertaining at the very least. Oh my gosh, you
can call us one eight hundred two two zero one
hundred if you want to get in on the fun.
We're gonna do that next. But I think we have
a very special Mama Gandhi on the phone right now. Hey, Mama, Hello, Mama,
good morning, baby. Hi. How are you good? How are you?

(19:23):
I'm fabulous. I know this is the first time, maybe
the second time that you've actually been on the air
with us, and I really we were just calling because
today's International Women's Day and there's no woman in my
life more important to me than you, and I love
you very much, and I just wanted to thank you
for being the best mom in the world and helping
me do so much with my life and just my time.

(19:44):
And I love you, Mama. Oh, I love you too,
but too, don't cry, that's firstly. Can I thank you too,
Mama Gandhi, because you have no idea how much I
love your daughter. She is awesome. She is a blessing
and I thank my lucky stars I have her every day.
And you know, Danielle, she loves you too, and I'm

(20:06):
so thankful that you're there for her. Oh, thank you,
Mama Gandhi. May I say something too, Yes, Mama, Gandhi,
it's Elvis. I just want to say thank you, because
I mean Gandhi when she arrived on our shoes several
years ago. Right it's been two years, right, Yeah, she
totally changed the way we do our show. She changed

(20:28):
the way we think about things. She really gave us
new ways to think about how we do our jobs
every day. And without Gandhi and Danielle and all the incredible,
incredible foundational women on our show, we would we would
not have any success at all. So thank you so
much for being Obviously you did a great job as
a mom. We want to say thanks. Oh, thank you

(20:49):
all so much. You guys are awesome yourself. We really are.
And Mama, Okay, last thing, Mom, I swear I also
wanted to thank you. I know I wrote you let
her not too long ago saying the same thing, but
I wanted to thank you and dad for not being
the totally typical Indian parents that forced me into doing
all the things I didn't want to do. And thanks

(21:11):
for encouraging me to paint and do art and just
follow the beat of my own drummer. I know that
was probably hard for you, guys, and I love you.
Y'all are the best. Oh, I love you too, baby,
more than you know. To the moon and back. She's sleepy.
I can tell we woke her up. Okay, we're gonna
let you go now, Mom, I love you. We're gonna,
I think, talk to Danielle's mama if she's on the
phone now too. Let's see great. Okay, bye mommy, bye mom,

(21:36):
Bye bye bye mom. That's not mom, Danielle. Something has happened.
Oh Frank, that's Frank. All right, Well, while we get
Danielle's mom on the phone. Yeah, we have all the
girls here for a reason, so at least let's do
the introductions right. If you don't know our team, there

(21:59):
are women here at the Elvis Duran Morning Show. Obviously
there's Danielle. She's a co host. Love Danielle and me
co host as well. But we have in the zoom
room with us producer sam Hi. Sam Hi, can you
quickly just explain in like a sentence or two what
it is you do? That's weird? How hard that was
the first time I was asked to do. It's a potpourri.
I'm a producer. I mostly do audio work, but I

(22:21):
try and come up with some fun ideas. I do
feel goods. You know, it's kind of a whatever puzzle
pc net. I try and fill the gap. Cool Diamond,
who is our phone producer, give us a sentence or
two about what you do every day. Hi Diamond, what
do I do well? When we were in the studio,

(22:42):
I was building through calls and texts to get people
to talk on air and stuff like that. But since
I've been home, I feel like I've been more of
a listener. We have a flush. I know, we have
a flush the format coming up, and Diamond was very
instrumental and putting together a lot of the song so
that I think are gonna be really exciting and we're
gonna get that playlist up on the iHeart app. Also,

(23:04):
so don't listen to her. She doesn't just listen. She
does stuff. Ali Gold, our director of digital, Give us
a sentence or two about what it is you do
for us. Hi, guys, So I do all the social media,
So anything you see on our social channels, that's done
by me. I write articles for our website. I help
make sure the website is up and running, and we're

(23:25):
on TikTok, so everyone follow us at Alvastranshawe and last,
but definitely not least, our video producer Deanna Diana is
with us too. Hello. She obviously makes all the videos,
but give us a couple sentences on what it is
you do? Okay? Yeah, So I'm kind of the brain
behind any video you see on our social I work
with Ali and we kind of tag team and do

(23:45):
all the video stuff that's everywhere, and that's how we
get to see your beautiful faces every day. So if
we look terrible, we blame Ali and Deanna for everything.
I just want you, Wait, Deanna, what do I tell you?
Every time we record a video together? Make me look good?
And I'm like, you always looked and never looked. It's
your fault if I look bad. Make me look good, Danne.

(24:08):
She does a good job every now and then they
will post a sketchy picture that I'm like, damn, why
that picture? Currently the one that's on the Elvis Rancho page.
Not a fan of it. There's something going on there,
but it was a good effort. Do we have Danielle's
mom on the phone now? Yes? Ma, Hello, good morning,
good morning mommy. I love you. I love you too.

(24:29):
I don't We're calling our mom's just to say thank you,
and Dan, I wanted to I just wanted to tell
you that I love you very much and today's International
Women's Day and that I know that. Um. You know,
over the years, you and Dad were my biggest supporters.
Where you let me do anything I wanted to do.
You encourage me to do everything that I wanted to do,

(24:50):
and you never held me back and it meant the
world to me. And I always told you that if
I could be half the mom that you are, then
I have succeeded. So um oh, that's so sweet. Thank you.
I love you all. You're an amazing mom. Daniel Danielle
better than I ever was. She's pretty great. But can
I say something to your mom too? Um? Hi, Mama

(25:12):
Mo Narrow. I like very much and I love your
daughter has changed my life. I have never a better
female co host and partner in my life. She is
super supportive. She's not just a great co worker, but
she's a really good friend and I love her and
you it's because you did a good job. So thank you.
And she loves you too because I know you're an
amazing person. The first time I met you, I knew

(25:33):
it I picked up on it at you were a genuine, great,
sweet kind person. Oh and I know that the boys
want to talk. Yes, okay, So speaking of this is
so appropriate for International Women's Day. Uh. You know, Danielle
of course grew up on our You can embarrassed me today. No,

(25:53):
talk about one moment that happened between you and Danielle
and me. And I think you remember. And because I've
told this before, I'm gonna start crying. Um in the
limousine outside the church when huh, when Danielle got married
to Sheldon. Right, I went out to the limo and
I opened the door and my little sister Danielle wasn't

(26:17):
in there with you. It was a woman, Danielle. She
turned into a woman that day and right before my eyes.
And I'll never forget that moment ever ever. And you
were there. You'll love you. You know that my husband
loved you so much. And people, oh my god, he
was like the biggest fan. Roy. Wow, he's looking he's

(26:41):
looking down from heaven and he's so proud of his daughter.
And I know, Mom, this hasn't been an easy year, um,
with Dad gone and everything. And I know you're moving
by me soon which I'm very excited about. But you
have been so strong, so amazing. Wow. But there's only
one way to do it. You can't fall apart. What
are you gonna do? You have to put one foot

(27:01):
in front of the other and keep moving. Falling apart's
kind of fun, you know, self preservation. You just have
to keep going no matter what happens. Right. Oh, I
love your outlook absolutely. Froggie has something he wants to say. Okay,
you know how much I love you. I love you,
and my husband loved you too. You know that you

(27:22):
have been amazing. You know that. Lisa and I absolutely
just adore your daughter. She's such a great person. And
I know that where all that started and where it
came from. I just Lisa and I love you so much,
and we love Danielle, and just thank you for giving
us Danielle and putting her into our lives. Thank you.
And she's lucky to have all of you. I mean,
it's an amazing place to work. Really, you don't find

(27:44):
it that often. I am so she knows. I still
it's so crazy. I've been doing this for almost twenty
six years, and still I pinch myself that I'm still
doing this and I'm still here and I still have
this amazing family, and it's just it's a blessing. So
any day that one morning I remember there one morning
and Greg t has had his face off a chair

(28:06):
and and everybody's laughing, and I go, why are you laughing?
Are you okay? Greg? Are you okay? And they go,
he does this all the time. And that happened to
where I work. They'd have fired me. You couldn't even
talk where I were. I guess, I guess we'd take
it for granted. I mean, this place where we work
is just an amazing place. Well, thank you, Mom, I

(28:28):
love you. I hope you have a great thank you.
All Right, you can go in the shower now. They're
not going to ask anything else. No, we're not going
to ask you any embarrassing questions. We decided against it.
Respecting you never get embarrassed. So that was the thing.
Nothing embarrassed you. You just made you, you know, stand
out more. You didn't care. Goodbye, Mom, I love you, everybody,

(28:52):
I love you. So many people are texting him saying
they're they're not only crying, they're having ugly cries. But anyway,
we're here to celebrate the women of our morning show
and everyone who listens to our show, I mean our
the foundation of our show is women when always, yes, always,
and it's always been that way. And someone actually said

(29:13):
to me, how do you accomplish that with your show?
And I said, well, part of it could be because
I'm a gay guy. I don't know, I have different
a level of sensitivity to what's going on. But I
tell you, without the women on this show, there would
be no show. There's this period. Elvis has always been
so amazing Gandhi. I mean, you know it now, but
for ever since I've I've been here, it's always been

(29:34):
about uplifting women and listening to women, and it's just
you don't get that everywhere and we I've worked on
two other shows and it was nothing like that. And
it's such a fresh experience and welcoming experience here that
it is completely different than a lot of other shows.
So let's share for the guys. Incredible place to work. Ok, Nate,

(29:57):
do we have time for entertainment or do we have
to brysolutely? You should take Frank first, though. Frank, thank
us for all we do. Quick do it now is great?
This is awesome. Hey, Frank, what's up. Hi long. I've
been listening to y'all for fifteen years. This is crazy
to like finally be talking to you. Oh, how does

(30:18):
it feel to have grown up with your children on
this show? I remember when you first had them, and
now they're like many adults. Yeah, it's crazy. The crazy
part is that they listen now, and so when I
say things, I get questions and they're like, mah, what
did you mean by this? I'm like, oh my gosh,
please um. But you know, they've grown up with it.
This is there. They consider Elvis and everybody here their

(30:41):
family as well. So it's just nice that they've grown
around it and they have great people around them. And uh,
it's it's awesome. I mean, I went to I went
into labor on the air with my first kid, almost
had him doing the show. So you know, it's it's
just it's awesome. So thank you. That's so cool. Y'all
are may Thank you. Thanks Frank, And if anyone has

(31:03):
questions for any of the girls on the show, Diamond, Ali, Deanna, Producer,
Sam Danielle, or myself, give us a call. We would
love to hear from you again. Questions within reason We're
not answering any weird stuff. But you know, for the
most part, we'll answer stuff. And I know Danielle has
her entertainment report, so yes, lots to talk about. Well,
if you didn't see Megan Markel and Prince Harry. First
of all, most of the interview was Megan Markel, and

(31:25):
I kept saying, where the hell is Harry? He didn't
say come until the virt Yes. So the biggest thing
that we learned was that there she and the son
were treated differently and how at least one family member
raised questions about how dark the skin tone would be
of their son Archie. They didn't say who, but they
did say that it happened. Can I complain about something here? Yeah?

(31:46):
With us? Okay, So they had this like bomb, Oh
my god, we're gonna drop all these bombs, tell all interviews.
She drops that one about them being colorless and racist
and all that, and then doesn't name who it was
that did this. Yeah, I feel like they need a name.
Names if they're to come out and do all of this,
tell us who we should we should really get They
talked about creepy uncle andrew it all. Not really, not really,

(32:07):
they did not they also talked about Megan having mental
health struggles, that she had suicidal thoughts at one point,
and they did say that the queen was never blindsided,
that they talked to her about their plans way before
it happened, that they were planning this for like two years,
that they were thinking about stepping back, or a year
before it all happened, So everybody was supposedly in the know.

(32:28):
So Lizzo clap back at one of the haters online
who took to asking her, so, what is it like
being obese every day? What a jackass? But here's what
Lizzo said. Oh God, I walk into my obese, gorgeous mincentry,
modern kitchen, and by the time I've made it some
my kitchen, I've already made another obese million dollars. She

(32:57):
is amazing obese, Like did I try to put it
on a dire She's obese all the way to the back.
She's awesome. Also, gen Z is still trying to cancel
eminem on TikTok over some of his controversial lyrics. So
what was his answer, Oh, a new song called tone
Deaf Can't Understand over you This way out to stay

(33:25):
won't stop befndling. My hand turns. Katie Kirk is making
history today the first woman to host Jeopardy. She's doing
two weeks starting today's to get ready for that. Liam
Neeson did something really cool over the weekend. He surprised
people at the movies the AMC Lincoln Square in New
York City because it was the first time we were

(33:47):
able to go back to the movies in New York,
you know, for a year. So he showed up and
he said, thank you for everybody being there. Bobe Rexa
gave us a new single called Sacrifice last week, and
she did a live stream prior to the song's debut.
There were eight thousand people on the live stream while
she was doing it on Instagram, and a male flasher
turned up and really upset her because she said, you know,

(34:11):
I have fourteen year old kids watching this and it's
just not cool to do that. I'm very protective of
my fans and I don't like that. So over the
weekend we found some new shows that we're loving. First
of all, Alvis and I watching Flak on Prime with
Anna Paquin. She's a public relations professional and she gets
all these crazy clients that she has to fix their lives.

(34:31):
It is nuts. Then Ted Lasso on Apple TV with
Jason Sudeikis, Oh my gosh. He plays the small time
football coach hired to coach a professional soccer team in
the UK. He has no experience, but it is so
freaking hysterical you're gonna love it. Also on The Bachelor
of the Good Doctor and The Voice and don't forget
WandaVision Disney Plus it's wrapping things up over there and

(34:53):
a lot of people are loving that. And that is
my Danielle report. Awesome. And we have Carol Now Online three,
who has a question for all the ladies. I believe Hi,
good morning. I can't believe I'm talking to you. I
listened to you all all the time and I just
absolutely loved you and listen to your show on replay,
even though I've heard it ten times, I'd listened to

(35:13):
it again. But I just wanted to ask you all,
what is the hardest obstacle you've had to overcome in
your industry? Because you know it's for so long was
dominated obviously by men. So what have you? What have
you fee? Danielle? You want to start? So I'm going
to be totally honest with you, I have been blessed

(35:34):
because I started on this show, and I grew up
on this show, and the people that I've always worked
with have always been very women friendly and promoting and
promoting women. So I have been blessed. And I have
heard horror stories of other places, but I thank thank
God every day that I am here and that I

(35:56):
started here. So I'm I've just been very lucky, all right.
I came from a different place than this, and I
know very well that women are not treated the same
in other places. I'm not gonna to nail anyone to
cross here, but all of them worked at two other stations.
You can put it together. So I will say that

(36:18):
being a woman is definitely difficult because a lot of
male co hosts don't want your actual opinion. They want
you to agree with theirs. They want you to laugh along.
They don't want you to stand on your own. They
want you to be an accompaniment to them and everything
that they do. And I have been told, as a
brown woman in particular, that my lens on life is
not something and I quote anybody cares about but you,

(36:39):
so oh, I'm you wanted Megan Markle to name names that. Yeah,
but maybe I'll tweet it later. No, No, I've we've
been we've been told things that you know, there's an
audience that you're catering to and you are not necessarily
that audience, So just kind of be careful about the
things that you say the way that you say them.

(37:01):
And then I came here and Elvis was basically like,
take the gloves off, do what you want. So I'm
going crazy, And that's that's what happens when you have support.
I love it. I can't imagine. I can't imagine working
anywhere where you're asked to not say what's on your
mind and in your hearts. That's what makes our show work. Yeah,

(37:25):
it does. And we've been very fortunate here. So who
wants to take it next? I saw Dianna raise her hand, Yeah,
go for us. Well, um, I think the biggest obstacle
I've experienced is not like within my heart or the
el A show or anything. It's the fact that I'm
a woman video producer because it's always men that are
like doing the camera work and kind of taking the reins.

(37:45):
So I know, like, for example, one time, I was
on a shoe and like this man's wire wasn't working
and he was telling me that it was my problem,
and I was like, no, like this is a wire
like connection thing. It was just like a fight that
didn't need to happen. So I think, like what I've
learned from doing this now for almost three years is
that like you have to kind of just hold your
own and like be confident in what you know, because
of course, if someone's questioning you, you you start questioning yourself.

(38:08):
So you have to just know that you are doing
this job for a reason and like your experience and
you have the ability to do your job best you can,
and you have to just be confident in yourself. So
that's what kind of I've learned. Nice ali Ye. So
when I started at iHeart, I was known as the
quiet digital girl, and through meeting like older women at

(38:30):
I Heeart who had more experience than me, they told
me like, I mean, everyone has been in a room
where a man has said the same suggestion as you,
but he said it louder. And it was just like
building up my confidence talking to myself in the mirror.
And now I don't think anyone here thinks of me
as the quiet digital girl, Like I know we love it, Diamond, Oh,

(38:58):
she has to unmeet herself. Um. For me, I'm kind
of like Danielle in a way. Like everywhere that I've
worked has been I've had like female bosses, so they've
always been able to guide me and mentor me and
stuff like that. Before I ever like really had any
issues or anything. But I think, um, society has made

(39:22):
me feel like I need to like tone it down
a little bit. I mean, you guys know that I'm
very like or I was very out there and stuff,
and society has made me feel like calm down, like
a woman should be seen not heard. Blah blah blah.
But I think that hair specifically has helped me come
back out of my show. You know, like, I'm really
excited to be here with you. I just I miss

(39:47):
having all of us together in the same room. I
missed that for me too much. Everyone on this show
is so great at what they do, and they everyone
in the show contributes to the the show's foundation and success.
I mean, without anyone who's on this show right now,
we would not succeed. I'm totally confident of that. Yeah, anyway,

(40:08):
I'm sorry. And finally, Producer Sam and then I know,
we have to take a break, Nate sweating. So I
think my biggest obstacle has been myself in my own mind.
Because I came here straight from college, it was my
only job, and because of what I had heard from
other areas of this industry, I kind of put myself
in this little box to try and not be disruptive

(40:30):
or impolite. And in one way, I don't regret it
because seven years, eight years later and I'm still here
and I'm smiling with you guys. But it's something I
think women do a lot in any industry because it
took a long time for me to work myself out
of my own damn box that I put myself in. Wow,
fair enough, And I think you're doing a great job.
I think you guys all are You guys are awesome.
It's a great team to work with. Just my two cents.

(40:52):
Love you guys, Love you guys. Yeah, that's a thing
that the women on the show are always butt slapping
each other. I don't know why, but we just do it.
So I missed that. Love you guys girls only all right,
we gotta take a break. We'll be back celebrating International

(41:14):
Women's Day. Alvas Duran and The Morning into cyber safety
using Norton three sixty with LifeLock, get device security, identity
theft protection, and more. No one can prevent all cyber
crime or identity theft, but now you can save twenty
five percent off your first year at Norton dot com.
Slash Elvis celebrating International Women's Day, Albus, Duran and The

(41:45):
Morning Show. Good morning, it is International Women's Day. Oh
my gosh, Josh is kicking ass with these this unbelievable production.
So thank you to Coasta boy Josh for his production
because thanks Josh. Yeah, he's so and he's so insane,
so we love you. So. Yeah. Well, we know that
we're still doing to ask us anything. We have one

(42:07):
more person who wants to ask all the ladies something.
That would be Dan, and he has a question for us. Dan,
what's up? Hey, guys. I was calling to see if
before the women got into the industry, if there being
a lack of women in the industry was a driving
factor and if choosing the career path was based on
how women were treated in it. Oh wow, oh wow.

(42:31):
Do you want to start with that one, Danielle, Yeah,
not for me, not for me. The funny thing with
me was I always wanted to do television broadcasting, and
I wanted to be on television doing that. And then
some really nice lady came up to me in the
elevator at Saint John's University where I went to college,
and said, hey, do you want to be on the radio?
And I go sure, and that was it. I fell

(42:53):
in love with the radio. He never went near the
television station. And we had a lot of really cool,
powerful women in charge at Saint John's, so they always
lifted us up as well, so it was always great, Well,
I'll step in there too. I accidentally got into radio.
One of my best friends sent me an internship and said, hey,
I think you're gonna love this. Give it a try.

(43:13):
And then once I started interning, I thought, I don't
want to go anywhere else. This is amazing. And I
knew that there were very few females involved in radio comparatively,
you know, compared to the guys. But the internship was
awesome and I just loved it so much that I thought,
you know what, challenge accepted. Let's see if this works.
And I'm still waiting to get fired. I know it'll
happen at some point, but so far, so good. What

(43:33):
about you, Sam? So, I don't think I even told
any of you guys this, but my romance with this
show in particular started in I think seventh grade because
I sat next to my very quiet friend Alyssa on
the school bus and to my shtick every day was
I would just rant about whatever in the morning show
talked about like it was a stand up comedy routine,
and it was such a great way for us to

(43:54):
start our day together. And so I kind of always
romanticized not only radio but this show in particular, And
then as I started to get closer to needing a
job and money in a career, it was all the
more appealing to me. So I don't think I was
ever turned off by it, but it was probably because
my head was just too far up the butt of
love of this show about you, Diana. So I don't

(44:21):
know if who guys knows either, But actually my freshman
year of college at Rogers University, Carla Marie came into
my class and talked about Elisa in the Morning Show.
I was a listener growing up, but when she came
in and talked about her experience, I literally like I
was about to be a teacher, and I changed my
entire career path to go into radio and like whoa
Pasting because of Carla Marie, because she need such an
impact on me and she was such like a strong

(44:42):
woman figure. So that's kind of how I got into
I've always been in love with like this show, in
this idea because of her. And if you don't know
who Carla Marie is, she actually grew up on our
show as well, started as an intern. Then she spread
her wings and she flew away and did another show
and uh, yeah, but she's one of the strong women
who grew up with us. Yeah, I saw Ali raising
her hand. Ali is our director of digital. What are

(45:04):
your thoughts? So I always wanted to do broadcast journalism
and I went to Syracuse and the college radio station
there was completely run by men, completely, and I was
one of the only women on the station of like
one hundred and fifty people. And I eventually became like
the president, and that definitely did drive me like we
needed change, we needed more women at the radio station.

(45:26):
And when I became president, I probably brought in like
thirty freshmen women and they were running the place by
the time they left Syracuse. So it was the best
feeling in the world and definitely drove my passion to
this industry a lot more. Wow, Diamond Phone producer, what
are your thoughts. I've always loved radio, and thankfully the

(45:47):
New York market has always had women in it. Like
when I was growing up at the afternoon drive was
like Wendy Williams or Andy Martinez. Of course Danielle was
on in the morning and stuff, but I really wanted
to get into TV, and similar to Danielle, Saint John's
kind of forced me down this radio path like a
year and maybe freshman I sawed me sophomore year, someone

(46:08):
said to me, like, you know, Danielle Minaro went here,
like this is a big deal, And I'm like, did
you really? Like it's actually because of Saint John's that
I'm here, because um Joe Malerba, who I still talked
to to this day, was somebody at the radio station.
He said, hey, Z one hundred is giving internships. Does

(46:29):
anybody want to try? And I'm like, yeah, I'll try,
I'll try so because I grew up listening and I
got so excited that I could actually be at the
place that I grew up listening. And then it was
during one of my classes at Saint John's, professor Potilly
I told him, Hey, just so you know, the phone's
gonna ring. It's gonna be Z one hundred. I'm gonna
find out if I get the internship or not. And

(46:49):
he said, take the call. So in the middle of
class the phone rang. He excused me. I took the
call and I got my internship. So Saint John's is
why I'm here. And also Tom Pullman, because you know,
Tom believed in me. He like runs. I think he
runs iHeart and he believed in me. And you all right,

(47:09):
so thank you guys for being here with us this morning.
Again it's International Women's Day and it's time for Gandhi's
Three Things. Oh wait, Frog, I see your hand. What's
going on? I want to tell you guys something that
we're all in the zoom room together, and I don't
know if you guys have been watching, but my favorite
part of everything that's going on here is watching one

(47:30):
person in this room, Elvis, is just sitting here watching
you guys do this, and he is so proud. He
is absolutely glowing with I saw him wipe his eyes
he has tears rolling down his face. He is so proud,
And to watch somebody just be so proud of other
people working is so rewarding. So it is. You guys

(47:52):
are doing amazing, absolutely, and watching Elvis be so proud,
it's just adding to it. You're making the day all
about me, and I love I'm not how proud you are.
You have no idea of this is unbelievable. You have
no idea how proud I am of the show and
the people who work here. You. I wish nothing but

(48:12):
success for every single person on this show and every
every single person listening to the show. I think that's
the magic of our show to make you want to
quit a little bit less, a little bit more. I
know every everyone is a superstar on this show. And
that's it. Thanks. Alright, Three things alrighty restaurants throughout New

(48:36):
York will be able to open at seventy five percent
capacity soon. Yesterday, Governor Cuomo so that indoor capacity will
increase on March nineteenth. However, New York City restaurants are
not included in that move and will remain at thirty
five percent capacity in the meantime. Doctor Fauci is warning
about the possibility of a fourth COVID nineteen wave, urging
Americans to please be as careful as possible as the

(48:57):
country starts to reopen. He noted that the New York
variant is alarming because it's resistant to some effective treatments
and it is spreading. Fauci added that we are headed
in the right direction, but we can't ease up just yet.
Millions of Americans could start seeing fourteen hundred dollars coronavirus
relief payments next week. The House is expected to vote
this week on the one point nine trillion dollar coronavirus

(49:17):
relief package that the Senate passed over the weekend. If
the House approves it, the bill will go to the
White House for President Biden's signature, and direct payments to
millions of Americans of fourteen hundred dollars could start going
out as soon as next week, like we said. And finally,
Oklahoma wants to pay you two point one million dollars,
but only if you can hunt down Bigfoot. The whole
thing is obviously a tourism play. They're hoping that it

(49:40):
brings people to the state to go on big foot hunts,
and it'll give businesses the chance to sell big foot
hunting licenses. Yet, of course everybody is slightly worried because
what could possibly go wrong when you're hunting for a giant,
hairy looking man thing. Nothing. Those are your three things,
Thank you God. Right coming up next, we actually have
a sponsor this week for the for the phone tap.

(50:03):
It is Rayo's Homemade Elvis. Elvis is gonna tell us
all about the meal he made this weekend with Rayo's.
And it's International Women's Day. We'll be back. Hey, it's Diamond,
the phone producer of Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. Thankfully,
I don't have to look too far for female inspiration.
My mom, grandmother and aunts have been amazing examples of
strength and resilience. They've shown me that women can be

(50:26):
both badass bosses and kick ass moms without even breaking
a sweat. Celebrating International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and The
Morning Show. Monday, March eighth is International Women's Day. Celebrating
International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and The Morning Show. Good morning, everybody,

(50:47):
it is International Women's Day. We are hanging out. It's Danielle,
It's Gandhi and the rest of the show. He's here, guys,
say hello. I don't want I don't want people to
think we locked you in a closet and you're right
here to comfortable closet. Hey, I'm gonna I'm gonna tell
you right now the text message is coming through. Are fantastic.
All you women are inspirational. During the height of the pandemic,

(51:11):
as a frontline worker, I often felt really alone driving
to and from work and cried a lot, but hearing
you guys in the morning as usually got me through.
Thank you, loving the women in the Morning show. Have
a great day. It's a happy cry today. I needed
you guys Friday, but today's not too late. Let's see. Wow,
did I mention an announcement? You guys are all being

(51:33):
so nice to each other as someone leaving the show, No,
what is the apple but slapping among female friends? Uh,
maybe you can address that. I wish I had a
supportive a room full of people working with me as
you guys have. And anyway, they go on and on
and a great job. Daniel and Ganda, you're doing so well.

(51:54):
Thank you. Um. I think when Elvis is they should
run the show instead of Nate. Oh, don't tell Nate
that damn. That's okay. So we've got the phone tap
coming up, and we're so excited because you're actually getting
money today that's not out of our own pockets. Yo's

(52:14):
Homemade is actually our sponsor, Elvis. You made some Yo's
deliciousness over the weekend. Oh god, yes, hey, you know what.
I know. We love talking about their sauces. But they
also have jarred roasted peppers with Pinoli pinon nuts and uh,
like you put them on bread. It's on frigging reel.

(52:35):
We ate an entire jar this weekend. And they have
frozen on Treys two that are so amazing like nia,
Oh yeah, they're really good, really good. All right, So
if you want when we give the money away at
the end of the phone tap, so one eight hundred
two four two zero one hundred if you would like
to win. And uh, here's our phone tap, Elvis, el Dan,

(52:56):
Elvis durand phone tap and it's from Gandhi. Hello, all right, Gandhi,
let's see what you do. All right? This one HiT's
kind of close to home for all of us. So
Kendall is an Instagram troll. She leaves hateful comments for
celebrities and it's just kind of rude. Her friend Sam
is sick of it and got a hold of us
with Kendall's logging information, so she changed it, and we're
going to give Kendall a call from Instagram customer service.

(53:19):
Oh this is devious. It all right, let's see what
happens in Gandhi's phone. Tap, here we go. Hello, Hi,
is this kendallness ni h h? Yes? Is this uh
Affy nannielfus on Instagram? Yeah? I'm contacting you to discuss
some of your recent Instagram activity because you're violating our

(53:41):
terms of services. Umw okay, So basically you're kind of
a negative bitch. So we're just gonna have to go
ahead and take a minute for you to pause and
think about what you've done. That's first of all, you
can't do that. Oh, we can do whatever we want.
The beauty of Instagram is that I can write over
the I want and you guys can't correct. Also, you

(54:04):
have to face the consequences. So I just want to
make sure that these were some of your comments. Did
you mention that Kim Kardashian's new baby is ugly like
a baby bird? Um? Yeah, because that's true. Did you
also say that Kelly Clarkson jin put down the pizza
and pick up on microphone? Yea lose weight and everyone else?

(54:24):
Why do you have no joy in your life? I
have so much joy in my life. But like Stu,
and I am about to ban you from Instagram, so
get up with me. Well you can't do that because
here Instagram please. So you hear that sound? That is
the sound of me banning you from Instagram? Oh is it? O?
Guests night? I'm gonna put up a post down about

(54:46):
how much do you suck and how much your customer
service sucks? Oh you're gonna report me to Instagram? I
work there? Okay, So what I would like you to do?
And oh wait, go ahead and log into your account
and just see if you can post your hateful crab.
Okay I am okay? Hell wait, so I'm locked out
right now you're actually banned. I can't get in Instagram.

(55:08):
Customer service has stepped in and shut you down brand
and you guys can't ban me because Instagram is like
what an influencer? What a bummer, especially because now you're
insta banned? Only what doing this? Are you shutting down everyone? Okay?
Here's the deal. You can apologize to Kim Kardashian and
you can apologize to Kelly Clarkson, or I'm gonna start

(55:29):
deleting your pictures starting with this one of you in
the hideous screen dress. You're well, you're calling me about
pulling people, and you were saying the exact same to me.
I will make a deal with you. You say, Kim Kardashian,
I'm so sorry for calling your new baby an ugly bird,
and we'll post the audio on Instagram. Oh my god,
and then you'll you'll make my count live again night. Okay, Okay, okay. Hi,

(55:54):
I'm kimdall Tennis, my host, and I want to apologize
to you Can Kardashian for saying that her baby looks
like an ugly baby board Okay, and then one more time,
can you do the same thing for Kelly Clarkson. Hi,
I'm kendalled in this night, and I just to Kelly

(56:16):
Clarkson first saying that she should put down the pizza
and pick up a microphone. There's just one last one.
Can you say I'm kendalled in this Hey, I'm getting
phone tapped from the Elvis to ranch out. Wait what
This is a phone tap. This is Gandhi from the
Elvis R Morning Show. And we were calling because your

(56:36):
friends Sam is sticking you trolling people on Instagram? No where.
Didn't I tell you they were going to be consequences.
I can't believe you would do that. Thank you Rayo's
Homemade because they they've saved me money and everyone else
on the show Money Today, they're to dig it into

(57:00):
their pockets and they're giving away a thousand dollars. So, Nate,
do we have our winner? Yeah, it's line sixty draw. Hello, Hey, Hi,
you won a thousand dollars. Authred's got that's good? Yeah, yit?
Do you use Rayo's Homemade? Oh my god, it's awesome. God,

(57:21):
turn my whole family onto it. Yes, yeah, she's a
perfect winner. Fantastic congratulations Audre, And of course we also
want to thank our friends over at Rayo's Homemade. You
can get all of their stuff at rios dot com.
And Dan Yelle, I know, has something very special coming
up right now. She's got some of her friends on

(57:41):
the phone. Yes, so. Audrianna Carrig is the founder of
Little Words Project. Now, you guys know we have been
giving away these amazing bracelets. We've been selling them um
profits benefiting project qure twenty five percent of the profits.
On says hello, lady, one says what are you bananas?
One says hope. They're twenty five dollars each. And I
got together with our friend Adriana from Little Words Projects

(58:04):
and we actually have known her since she started this
company years ago. Adriana, you there, I am here. Hey,
how are you hie? Hello lady there? Yes, So if
people don't know what the Little Words Project is, can
you just sum it up a little bit? Yes, absolutely,

(58:25):
Thank you so much for having me. You guys a
few super huge fans since the very beginning. So Little
Words Project is all about inspiring kindness and self love
amongst women. So what we do is we put different
inspirational words on each of our pieces, and the idea
is to wear your word for as long as you
need that bit of inspiration, and then to pass it
on one day to a woman who needs it more
than you do. And the best part is that each

(58:45):
one has a little tracking number on the back of
the tad and what you'll use that for is to
register the bracelet on our mobile app or website and
then when you do eventually pass it on and the
next woman does the same, you can actually track and
see where it goes. So really fun pay it forward concepts. We,
like Danielle said, started about seven years ago, and you

(59:07):
guys have been a part of our growth since the
very beginning with Carlo Marie's What's Trending back in twenty
thirteen when she essentially announced us to the world and
we got like the most sales we'd ever gotten and
it was really what put us on the map. So
you guys have really been a part of it from
the very start, and we're so grateful. That's super exciting,

(59:27):
and I just wanted to thank you guys, because, like
you just said, you're supposed to pay it forward and
pass that bracelet on to someone else. So I was
wearing one actually from Carlo Marie, and it said you
look great. We work with a girl named Erica America
over here in New York City and she saw my
bracelet and said, oh my gosh, I love that. So
I took it off and I gave it to her
and when I tell you, she just started crying. She

(59:48):
started crying. She said, are you serious? You're just going
to take that off and hand it to me. Oh
my gosh, I needed this so much today. It makes
the world of difference. And she was just absolutely thrilled.
So it's like, you buy this, let you can give
back to charity a little bit, but you also get
to see with your own two eyes how it takes
an effect on somebody. And it was great. Yes, yes,
that is the best part. We always say the givers

(01:00:10):
feel better sometimes than the receivers even Yeah, it's such
an awesome experience, and that's why we thought, Like when
I was thinking of something to do for a charity donation,
she came into mind. Because you know, we all love
our Hello Lady shirts and we wear them all the time.
But you can't wear a shirt every day unless you
wash it every day. Now, yes, you can wear every
day on your wrist look down. And I feel like

(01:00:33):
it's a little reminder of people that people know that
we're with them every day, that we're helping you get
through the day. We love you guys out there. We
know it's not always easy, but you know what, Hello Lady,
we got this. So I love I love that we guys,
we collaborated. And also today is a big day where
they're telling you to shop women. So you know, Little
Words Project is a great example because owned and operated

(01:00:55):
by women. Absolutely. How many women do you have working
for you guys now? Twenty five? Wow? Wow, it's a
far cry from when you guys first announced us and
it was me, my mom and my dad. So we've
definitely come. Yeah, we've come a long way. So thank
you guys again so much just for your endless support

(01:01:17):
and love and yeah, we're so excited to be working
with you guys and project care for this. Um, I
think it's going to be a really just wonderful success.
Who doesn't want to wear hella lady? Or what are
you bananas? On? Their risk at all? Exactly exactly? And
where can you get them? If people want to go
buy them? Where do they go? Of course? So you
can get them at our on our website, Little Words
Project dot com. Um. You can also find us on

(01:01:39):
Instagram at Little Words Project, where we are constantly adding
swipe up and just keep telling you all about the
brand and the story so you're able to shop there endlessly. Adrianna,
thank you, We love you, and we hope you have
We hope you have a wonderful international Women's Day. Yay,
thank you so much. You guys too serious. We have

(01:02:00):
been listening since I was a kid, so it's just
an unbelievable inch me moment. Thanks for being a part
of our show. Yeah, oh please, I wouldn't have it
anither way. You take care, all right? Coming up, we
have something I'm super excited about. We're going to play
a game, and this game is going to be a

(01:02:21):
pyramid game. But because it's International Women's Day, we would
like to get two gentlemen callers on the phone to
play this pyramid game with. So Nate, do your thing.
Give us a call one eight hundred two two zero
one hundred if you want to play the pyramid game,
and we will be back with that, plus Danielle's entertainment
and all kinds of other fun stuff. Right after this,
my boyfriend got a whole pizza thrown at him, so

(01:02:44):
I turned on and shucked it at his head to
show that Celebrating International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and The
Morning Show Discover matches all the cash back you earn

(01:04:11):

up I been drying. Not just get some time, I

(01:04:43):
take up looking. Just don't make a time myself. I'm

(01:05:21):

you let me got it work what I call so

(01:06:29):

United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace. Dare
you call other people curvy? That's curvy of you. Your
show is helmed by strong women. I quit first, but
they said they were going to fire me for punching somebody.
But your International Women's Day. Choose celebrating International Women's Day.

(01:07:00):
We've run Alvis Durand and the Morning show. Good Morning everybody.
It is International Women's Day. It is Danielle and Gondhi
and the boys are here too. Love on the show.
I'm a fan. I'm a fan of your show. Today.
Oh my gosh, thank you. We are getting ready to
play a pyramid game, which you know I suck at game,

(01:07:20):
so I'm hoping he'll be Okay, it's this game today.
I think you will be if you the way that
we're going to do this. We have decided we would
like to describe some things to the fellas that are
typically either used by women or that could be maybe
found in a woman's purse. So if you think that
you can play this game, give us a call one
hundred two for two zero one hundred Yes, Elvis Durant.

(01:07:42):
Interesting text, Good morning, Hello lady. Just wanted to say
Happy International Women's Day. I've been a chef since I
was twenty two years old. I've had to prove myself
to men over and over well as being a chef.
It's definitely a male dominated industry and it wasn't the
easiest career for me to choose to have to work through,
but I worked so hard. I'm so proud of myself
for how far I've come and how I've been able
to hang with the guys for this many years and

(01:08:04):
still keep my identity as a woman. Thank you for
your text texts and congratulations to her, because that is
really difficult. I know that good for her. All right, Well,
Nate is getting someone on the phone. Shall we go
around the room and see how everybody's doing today? Do it? Yes?
Even the boys can play this one, even the boys.

(01:08:26):
All right, let's start with Elvis Duran. We haven't heard
a lot from you this morning. I'm loving the show.
I'm truly truly loving the show today. It's interesting to
sit back and listen to the show. It's a great show. Thanks.
Uh A great message. Yeah, Okay, around the room. This
is when we talk about what's on our mind and
our hearts. I love being able to do this. Uh. Women,

(01:08:47):
my mom, God rest her soul. She's looking down. She's
looking down at me and my dad. I got my
spunk for my dad, who's looking up at us. Mom's
looking down. If ever you see me, be light or
uh give to other people. I got that from my mom.
My mom. We lost her several years ago, and uh,

(01:09:12):
I think about her every day and thinking about how
much grace she had and what a brilliant, brilliant person
she was. So mom, you know, she never really experienced
something like International Women's Day the way you guys are
doing it. But she was always a strong woman and
she always let you know how you fit into her
world because it was my mom's world, always love, and

(01:09:33):
she gave us you and you are so special. Yes right,
very lucky. Ankles in distruption pushed me, Froggy, what about you?
You know obviously my wife Lisa is extremely strong. To
see how much she's able to she can have conversations
with four people at one time. She really is amazing.
But the first amazing woman in my life was my mother.

(01:09:57):
And I always remember one lesson that my mom taught me,
and it was a quote from Maya Angelou and it
was people will never forget how you make them feel.
And so that's why I always try and make people
feel better than I do try to make them feel worse,
because I always remember what my mom taught me. You
can say whatever you want, and you can say you're sorry,

(01:10:17):
but the way you make somebody feel is extremely important.
And my mom always many of you know my mom.
My mom goes out of her way to make people
feel good and make people feel special, and so for
that I am very thankful for my mother. She's the sweetest.
We love her. She is a real sweetheart. She is
all right, scare what's going on with you today? You
know I said this on Friday. I want to reiterate
it again. I want to salute my mom today on

(01:10:40):
International Women's Day. You know, she grew up at a
time in the late sixties in Brooklyn, which was a
time when you know, it was like women were not
doing what they're doing today. Only eight percent of United
States women had graduated college at that time, and so
my mom always wanted to come back to that. So
after have her kids, her family, she said, I'm going

(01:11:02):
back to school. She got a job, and she does
it all. I mean, I mean, she's superwoman. I got
to hang out with her yesterday. She's cooking dinner. I'm like,
what are you doing. I'm like, well, we should be
in saluting you, mom, But that's what she loves to
do best. So we had our Sunday saw him. So
I love you, Mom. You know that, I said it
before I made her cry the other day. She probably
got to get Tis shoe box right now. Producer Sam

(01:11:24):
Yes scary still talking, Yeah, yes, yes, did you not
hear a word? I heard all of it. Producer Sam. Hello, Hi, So,
of course, beyond my mother, I am just so proud
of my sister right now, who is another really strong
and powerful woman in my life. And it took writing
my speech and watching her get married to put some

(01:11:47):
of those feelings in check because she's always been my
little sister and I can't help but look at her
that way. But Elvis, it reminds you reminded me when
you were talking about Dan Yelle getting married earlier. It
was so bizarre because I was watching a woman, like
a full grown woman, and I'm just so proud of
not only the partner that she picked, but the version
of herself she's become since being with her now husband, Jesus,

(01:12:12):
that's so weird to say, her husband, Joseph. So you know,
I'm just I'm beaming still from this weekend and I
love her very much. And my favorite part was when
the little ring bearer, who's just a tiny little child,
cried down the aisle and then threw the case at
the two of them. One of the highlights of the web.
Very very much in love with my little sister and

(01:12:33):
her husband Joe. Today, I was gonna go to Nate,
but he's on the phone, oh Nate, can you do one?
Got some around the room, and yet absolutely you know what,
as Scary mentioned about his mom going back to school,
I remember when my mom went back to take classes
to learn how to use a computer because this was
in the eighties and it wasn't a very common thing.
And she did that because she had to go back
to work to support her three kids and her family

(01:12:54):
and stuff like that. So she's always been a hero.
And you know, and on top of that, every female
ill nurse I've ever had, thank you. Because I've had
some great guy nurses, but there's just something like a
woman that is caring that just makes you feel so
much better when you're sick. So I just want to
say thank you all of those women at oh Nate

(01:13:15):
And finally, last, not least, Danielle, Yes, thank you mine.
So we talked to my mom this morning, and you
guys know how much I love her. But she always
used to say and she still does when I were
I said, well, Mom, they did this, so they did that,
and she was Danny, it doesn't matter. You do what
you know is right and what is in your heart.
You be the better person who cares what other people do.

(01:13:35):
As long as you're making people happy, you're making people
feel good, you know that is the right thing. And
so I thank my mom for always instilling me that
who cares what other people do? In your heart, you
know what's right and you be the better person. So
thank you, Mom. I love you. I love it all right.
I think we're ready for the pyramid game now, yes,
Nate contestants. All right, So the pyramid game today. We

(01:13:59):
have two different category. We've got things found in a
woman's purse or products typically used by women. Yes, some
men are probably gonna use them too, but these are
typically used by women. So on the phone, we have
Tom Tom, are you there? Hello? Hi, Hi Tom, good morning,
good morning. Tell us about yourself really quickly. I'm a

(01:14:20):
kitchen installer from Des Moines, and can I say quickly
that my mom is the most strong, awesome person. She's
a computer programmer, being a computer programmer for decades, and
both my sisters are nurses. So I'm just honored to
be on the radio on today, especially, So Oi, thanks Tom.
Well you wait, Tom, are you married? Single? What I'm single?

(01:14:42):
I was gonna say, because that extra hot Tom Tom
might need to drop his Instagram name at the end
of this last made me create one, and he's not
on social media. Love Tom? All right, Tom, would you
like Danielle to play for you today or me to

(01:15:04):
play for you today? I would like Danielle to play
for me today. Alright, alrighty, I'm warning you ahead of time,
this is not my best moment. All The theme today,
your theme is going to be products found in a
woman's purse. Now, Danielle is going to describe these to
you as best she can without using any word that's

(01:15:24):
actually in the clue. And if she does and it
gets disqualified, Okay, okay, all right, scary you got the music.
Are we gonna get the other contestant first? Are gonna
just do this first? I think we do this first
and then we'll go to all right, all right, here
we go, all right, go for it. Oh you use
them that time of the month, you know the other? Yeah,

(01:15:48):
that's it, Dane, I can't see. Oh you take it?
You take it once a month, or you don't have babies.
Oh no, every day? Okay, oh do you I don't
take it? Oh you put these on when you want
to suck in your stomach? Look slimmer, in your dresses.
Thank you nice? Um oh, you put these on if

(01:16:09):
you want to have a nicer hair, maybe your hair
you want it to look different, so you put a
blonde one on or a brown one on. Yeah. Uh
oh this you used to like get hair off of you.
But it's not for it's not a razor. No, it's
not a razor. Hair on your legs. You put this
on gets the hair way, No, it's something else. It's

(01:16:30):
called something else. U. Yeah, that's it. Hey. Um oh
you put these on there. They're hurt your feet, but
they look great. They right? Okay, wow ny oh you
wear they're very tight on you. All right? How many
we get? How many we how is good? Though? He
got sick? How you? Yeah? Actually impress it. I love you.

(01:16:54):
I thought wonderful things found in a woman's purse. It's not.
Oh yeah, that is what Nate messed it up. That's okay,
that's okay, all right, Well you found a tampon in
a woman's purse, you do. I was worrying about the wig.
Yeah yeah, I can't remind all the time and high heels.

(01:17:17):
Leave it to a guy to execute the game, and
it gets mixed. Six okay, yes, all right, who both
of that was stuff typically used by women. Now we're
going to switch it and let's go to Pat. Good morning,
Good morning, how are you doing? Happy Woman's day? Thank
thank you. Tell us about yourself, Well, I used to

(01:17:40):
be I'm retired right now. It used to be a
supermarket manager in Manhattan and Gristide's and I would just
really like to uh an international woman's day really from
my wife and my three daughters. Really praise them for
all the love that they give me and the work
did they do. They try so hard. They always try

(01:18:01):
to take care of me in any way ship or
for him, and the memories of my mom teach me
all the things to make me a good human being.
Oh all right, Pat, we're gonna play a game. You
know how this works, right, yes, okay, So the category
is things found in a woman's purse, which was supposed

(01:18:21):
to be Danielle's but pivot Nate. All right, are you ready? Pat? Yes,
time starts go scary um tail and all aspirin anything
to deal with allergies, little pills and yes, correct, all right,
you use these to open the door to your home. Yes, Um,

(01:18:45):
you rub this on your skin to keep it from
getting dry to keep yourself. Yes, oh my goodness, you
put your credit cards, your money inside of this. Yes? Nice. Um,
you talk on this, you use it to call people? Yes? Um?
What does that say? Oh this is a type of
makeup that hides flaws. Um let's pass that one. And

(01:19:11):
Nate's still writing? All right? That was a concealer god?
All right? Um? Quarters pennies dimes? Yes, yes, yes, he's
going too fast. Sorry, way to prepare, fella. Oh you
choose this to make your breath smell better mintier or
you chew it. You can blow a bubble with it.

(01:19:32):
Times up. Oh he got it at the end. All right,
So here's the deal. We ended up tying six and six. Nate,
I think really screwed it up for Pat there. But
he did pre written I mean, I'm sorry, I'm confused today.
He couldn't you have written them with a sharpie because
it was very hard to read the clues light pencil

(01:19:54):
with light behind here. Why do you hate Pad so much?
You're playing against him? I think this is an anti
women thing, Nate, because you want it's Elvis's game. You're
always prepared. But I think you're trying to sabis. I'm
just kidding. I don't mean that at all, a little lady.
Should we you're not going to help the lady shout?

(01:20:17):
Should we? Nate? Should we give each of the guys
thirty more seconds to try again since it's a tie,
or do you think you're going to screw that up
to just give them both? Do we have all right? Wait?
What are we giving them? I'm going to chip in
one hundred dollars each. They both want one hundred dollars bills? Yeah, yeah,
doesn't want a little lady, We're gonna send you a

(01:20:39):
hundred dollars in tom our incredible kitchen installar from Des Moines.
We're gonna send you a hundred dollars too. Thank you,
Thank you guys. Oh you guys are great again, happy
and a woman's say thank you, thanks for playing guys.
And nice Scott, well those are two really awesome guys
on there they were those good good job Nate with
finding those contestants. He did something right, Yeah, he did

(01:21:00):
something something good. Happen all right? Timing wise, Nate, if
you have a second, should we do entertainment here? Would
you just want to get straight into the three things
could do a quick entertainment and three things. But Bobby
Brown's going to be jumping in here in a second.
Two okay, okay, so we'll do Bobby Brown on the way.
Danielle's got entertainment, then let's go for that, all right.
So it is iHeartRadio celebrating International Women's Day Today. They're

(01:21:23):
giving you iHeart presents. See her, hear her celebrating women
in Music. It's taking place today when Stefani Cardi, b
Kelsey Ballerini. It's a one hour special. It's going to
stream on iHeartRadio's YouTube and Facebook pages eight pm Eastern time,
so check it out. Everybody's talking about Megan marcle and
Harry last night sitting down with Oprah. People were wondering
why it took so damn long to bring Harry out

(01:21:45):
because he wasn't there for the entire interview. And what
we really learned was that at least one family member
raised questions about how dark their sun would be, and
also Megan admitted to having suicidal thoughts at one point,
very very hard for her. She's sad while living there,
and the Queen was not blindsided. Apparently the Queen knew
everything that was happening and that they had talked to

(01:22:07):
her ahead of time. Kanye West put out his new
Yeazys for they're the easy four fifties in cloud Whites.
Do you have them yet, Gandhi, because I know you
would love your Yeasys. No, I don't, but I actually
do like them. I'm just conflicted on buying easis these days.
But yeah, well they went in one minute. He put
them on sale at seven am, seven oh one, they
were gone. And now you're gonna have to pay Prime

(01:22:29):
if you want to get your hands on them, because
it's insane. Speaking of International Women's Day, let's end off
with this Miley Cyrus crediting a bunch of female musicians
for paving the way for her in music, Eda James.
She said that her dad used to play Eda James
in the car and he had like one CD or
one tape in his car and that's all they would
listen to over and over again. She said. Stevie Nicks

(01:22:49):
and Joan Jet and Debbie Harry, all of them have
instilled in her being a powerful woman in music and
rock and roll. And so let's just talk about television.
You've got Ted Lasso and Apple TV. I am loving it.
It's so funny. Elvis and I are loving Flack on
Prime without a so what a surprise. It's a great show.
It's so good. You may want to watch that Bachelor's

(01:23:10):
on tonight, The Good Doctor and the Voice What I say,
Flack flock, No, it's Flack. You said it, Flack, Flack
said Flack. Okay, yeah, and that is my Daniel report
text in. They find it ironic that on International Women's Day,
two men just want to contest. Oh, come on, what

(01:23:30):
we wanted to see if they knew about women's stop
exactly the Challenge show. It's always got a bitchet motif. Seriously,
we're not going to leave the guys out completely. I'm
do we have time for three things? Oh we have
to break wait wait you guys wanted two guys, didn't you. Yeah,
we are specifically asked for two guys. Girls would have

(01:23:52):
swept those categories so quickly. Yeah, and the guys would
have done better had Nate not screwed it up. But
you know, it is what it is, all right. I
think we're doing three things. Scary here we go. It's
weird to toss it to myself. Yeah from me, alright,
you're like okay. Police are on high alert as Minneapolis

(01:24:16):
prepares for the trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police
officer accused of murder and manslaughter in the death of
George Floyd. Jury selection begins this morning, and city leaders
are trying to reassure people that the city is prepared
for any possible unrest that could result from the trial.
In case you forgot, George Floyd died in police custody
on Memorial Day last year. Chauvin is the white officer
seen in the viral video kneeling on his neck for

(01:24:38):
eight minutes. Doctor Fouci is warning about the possibility of
a fourth COVID nineteen wave, urging Americans to please be
as careful as possible as the country starts to reopen,
much to the dismay of many health officials. He noticed
that a New York variant is alarming because it's resistant
to some effective treatments and it is spreading. Doctor Fouci
added that we are headed in the right direction and

(01:24:58):
that's good news, but we cannot ease up just yet.
And finally, if you're wondering why the heck, Danielle and
I have been hosting the Show and talking so much today.
It's because it's International Women's Day. This year's campaign theme
is Choose to Challenge. The goal is to encourage people
to choose to call out gender bias and inequality while
seeking out and celebrating the achievements of women. And those

(01:25:20):
are your three things. We got Bobby Brown coming up
on the way. Hey guys, it's Sam. I'm a producer
here at Elvis Durrant in the Morning Show, and I
bring you your daily feel goods. And an influential woman
to me is Alissa Carson because not only is she
the youngest person to graduate from the Advanced Base Academy,
but at nineteen years old, this woman is training to

(01:25:41):
go to Mars. So yeah, she is pretty kick ass.

Durand and The Morning Show. Good morning, it is International
Women's Day. That is Elvis. He's not a woman, but
sometimes he pretends to be. He does strive. I strive
to be more women like everybody. Danielle and Gandhi take

(01:26:28):
it over the show today. We're we're really having such
a fun show. It's been so awesome. Sounds awesome, right,
thank I've been having a blast, so thanks for letting
us take over. We'll take over any time you okay,
And now we welcome to the fun one of our
favorite people in the world. She's family to us, Bobby Brown,
who we've We've known Bobby Brown for years and now
she's launching her new Jones Road Beauty. I was just

(01:26:50):
there the other day playing with her and we had
the best time. So welcome Bobby Brown. Oh thank you.
I wore this shirt for you guys. Oh yeah, the
world girl girls. Yeah, we do. Thank you for allowing
us to run the world. Elvis. No, no, I don't
allow you to do anything you do. You know what,

(01:27:12):
you have always been the most respectful man. I know
you allow these girls to be themselves, and you know
you've always like respected any any woman who's near you.
Thank you. I must say that I don't allow anyone
to do anything they do it. I mean, it would
be an awful world if I had to allow you

(01:27:32):
to be yourself. It's but you encourage, which is a
big deal because a lot of people don't encourage people
to be themselves or to be powerful. You know you do.
You allow yourself to be you, and that's that's where
it comes from. And I'll go ahead, enough about me.
We're in trouble, so if we have permission now, guys,
we're in trouble. That's it. It's all. I feel like

(01:27:56):
there's so much that we could get into with Bobby.
I mean, you have branded and started a new makeup line.
I know that you're working with one of my favorite
Instagram accounts of all time, the female lead. I love
that you're offering up a mentorship. But where should we start, Daniel,
Where do you want to start with Bobby? I want
to start. I've noticed Bobby in a lot of articles lately.
She's talking about reinventing herself or introducing herself again to

(01:28:19):
people because people know the other brand. And now jone
Georld Beauty is her new brand and it's doing so well,
how do you do that? Like, how do you reinvent
yourself like that? Well, first of all, how do I not?
I left Bobby Brown Cosmetics in October of sixteen, and

(01:28:40):
I had a choice. I could either play cards, play golf,
be sad, be upset, or I could just say what
do I really want to do? And I know a
lot of people are doing jobs that pays them well
or pays them okay, but they're not that happy. And
I'm not saying leave your job, guys. Everyone's financial things
are different. But when you really get to stop and think,

(01:29:02):
what do you want to do? Like, if you, like
you could write your own things, what would you do?
And I always think that way. I always think that way.
So I knew I wanted to, you know, have a
voice and talk to people about empowerment, health and wellness.
I went back to school from i N Institute of
Integrative Nutrition, got my degree as a health coach. I've

(01:29:23):
been working on Elvis forever and it's not working. And
then I have a wellness brand, Evolution eighteen and now
Jones Road and I'm just having so much fun and
doing anything I want and there's no one to say
not a great idea. See, that's what I love. I
love the fact that, like maybe back in the day,

(01:29:44):
did you have people that told you what to do
or told you it's not going to be a success.
And now, all these years later, you're like, you're making
your own rules. You're doing what you want to do.
I always had people telling me that something didn't make sense.
It's when I was a makeup artist and tried to
get hired in magazines. I have photographers that said, oh,

(01:30:05):
you're never gonna work. I've had makeup artists, big makeup
artists that I would ask questions to about career advice.
You're never gonna work. You don't have a style, like
you need a style you need And I'm like yes,
And I took me years to realize my style is
my style. Having no style is my style. If that
makes any sense. It does. So you're all, you know,

(01:30:27):
you always hear things, and of course when you're you know,
in a corporation for so long, there's always people, for
different reasons that say, no, not a good idea, you
can't why did you do this? And yes, I was
a good soldier. And then I left and I realized,
now I only have my husband and my three boys. Mom,

(01:30:51):
that's really dumb. House to mom, that's really dumb. Yeah,
I get, But Bobby you were talking about you know,
obviously you've you've shifted and you've rebranded, and personally I
wanted to say thank you to you because when we
very first met, you said you need to start a brand,
and from that time you sort of hit me a

(01:31:12):
few more times after that saying, hey, where's your brand?
Hey what are you doing? Hey, you've boards start a brand?
And I did. It wasn't the hot toss you were
talking about, but I started making art and it has
been the most fulfilling thing for me next to this job.
And I want to thank you for crawling up my
butt about that a little bit and making it happen.
So it also hasn't been easy, It's been difficult. So

(01:31:33):
from somebody who has started a brand like you, what
is some advice that you would give to young women
or any woman trying to start a brand for herself.
What's the most important If you think it's easy, nothing
is easy raising kids, hang your rant. I mean nothing
is easy in life. You know, a long, happy marriage, girlfriends, certainly,

(01:31:56):
starting a business nothing is easy. So if you think
it's going to be easy, no no, no, no, no,
not going to happen. And don't be afraid of the
hard work. And when things aren't going well, it's just
an opportunity to say, okay, let me do something different.
This is not working, and it's okay to feel bad
and be upset. That's how you get better. You know,
it's easy for me to say now that I'm of

(01:32:18):
this age and experience. I didn't know this when I
was just starting out. I was, you know, constantly crushed
by people, you know, saying you couldn't do something or
something that didn't happen. I remember the first time my
lipsticks before I even sold the company, the tops of
the lipsticks didn't fit. I thought I was ruined. I

(01:32:38):
was like so freaked out. We somehow we figured it out,
and I know that's perfect. Yeah, And I know you
always tell people like not like you said. You know
a lot of people have to pay their bills and
they can't quit their jobs. But to do a side
hustle and start small and just like maybe when you
have some extra spare time instead of like being on
Instagram or whatever, you know, I'll play around insta or

(01:33:01):
using Instagram, you know, to help your cause. You know,
people say, well, during the pandemic, you're stuck at home.
I'm like, yeah, you're stuck at home. Get on the
social media and start looking for like minded people. And
if you have a business that's local, don't try to
get you know, shouted out by a Kardashian, just like

(01:33:22):
align with the local business. Honestly, it's everything about business. Okay,
here it is. Get your pens out is common sense
once you figure that out, and it's not as complicated
as people make it. Yeah, and I think one of
the things that people don't see. So I'm going to

(01:33:43):
ask you how many times or how many failures do
you think you have experienced on the road to success.
I mean, I can't count them because none of them, no,
because none of them were big enough to say that
was you know, that was such a giant and you know,
like downfall. But there's so many and it's what you

(01:34:04):
do with them. So it's what you do with them.
It's who you have around you to talk to you,
to say, Okay, that happened, Now what do we do?
What could we have done better? And I always like
to kind of figure out how I could have done
something better. I was talking to my son about this
the other day because he was getting upset about something
that happened. Then I said, listen, you're allowed to get upset,

(01:34:25):
You're allowed to have these feelings, but you're only allowed
to feel this way for a little bit of time,
and then we have to find a way to move
on and move forward. I said, so you know this
is this is a lesson that you're getting taught because
I go through it too. But now we move on.
And I think he honestly took it to heart. I
was like, Okay, that makes total sense, that really makes sense.
And by the way, being open to you could look

(01:34:48):
at it as criticism, you could look at it as
you know, learning. I remember when I first tried to
do year, I did it again, tried to do a
podcast and I did a couple things with Elvis, and
Elvis kind enough to say, you have to let me
finish talking before you start talking over me. And I'm like,

(01:35:08):
I could have been like insulted, but I took it
as such a okay, a learning opportunity. When the supermodel
Jerry Hall, who'd you guys, she was married to Mick Jagger.
A lot of people don't know people from back then.
I did her makeup and I handed her mirror. I
was really young, and she's thank you, it's beautiful, and
she said, do you mind if I fix it? She

(01:35:30):
redid her entire faces. Hello, because I didn't know what
I was doing in nineteen eighty something. I didn't know
what I was doing and I watched her and guess what,
the cover looks really good. And I didn't really do it,
but I learned and I didn't feel bad. And that's like,
you know, that's how you learn, guys, We're here to
learn things. Yeah, absolutely, Froggy, I think you had a

(01:35:51):
question I did. I heard a quote one time and
I don't know who said it, and it was I
never failed. I just figured out ways not to do it.
And that's kind of what Bobby just said, is that
you just just because it doesn't work that way, even
find another way to do it. Don't quit. And it's
great that you never quit and you just kept going
until you found out what worked. And that's being an
entrepreneur and it's also being someone. I mean, growing up,

(01:36:13):
I have to say I had learning disabilities. They were
back then. No one helped you when things, you know
were tough. And now I know it's because I am
very creative. I'm very visual. I'm not normal quote unquote smart.
Luckily I married someone who's super super smart, so I
got to make some really you know, mixed kids, which

(01:36:35):
is nice. But I probably can't say that right Okay,
Oh I'm gonna love this one. Um, But you know
the point is us, guys, instead of feeling bad, I
learned how to figure things out like I learned, like
you should see when I write things. And I've written

(01:36:56):
nine books, Guys, I don't know how to type. No what,
I've written nine books. I don't know how to type,
So I write by hand. I give to someone to type.
If you would see my crossouts because I redo everything.
I make them retype it. But that's how I'd get
it done. Wow, you find a way. So, speaking of
all this I mentioned earlier, you have joined up with

(01:37:18):
one of my favorite Instagram accounts. It's called the Female Lead.
If you are a woman, even if you're not, and
you just want to learn all kinds of stuff, that's
a great account to follow. But I also saw that
you were offering up a mentorship and I saw that
on Instagram as well. So what is that about? And
how can people become part of it? And like myself,
well asking for a friend, asking for a friend. Yes, well,

(01:37:39):
first of all, you know you've got my cell number? Yeah,
everyone else have my cell number. I did a master class,
a makeup master class. I took it. I was the best.
Thank you. Yeah, I'm thinking I'm taking a health and
wellness one now and I really love it. But we

(01:38:00):
all there, we're doing with them. We're offering mentorships. So
you have to join master Class. Correct, you have to
be a member of master Class. And it is the
greatest learning educational tool that everyone out there should they do.
They do deals all the time too, for ones. It's
not that expensive. You have access to all their amazing people,

(01:38:23):
and so you get to watch these things and how
do you how do you win this? I forget you
enter to win and we pick and we take people.
We're picking five. That's awesome. Yeah, that's amazing. Yeah. And
then like, what what exactly is included with that mentorship?
What are people going to expect to get from you?

(01:38:44):
We're going to have zoom meetings where they could talk
to me about you know what issues they're having, what
problems they're having, and you know advice. So you never,
by the way, you never know what conversation you have
with someone you know you're is able to kind of
take you to another level. You just never know. I

(01:39:05):
don't care. If it's like your next door neighbor's aunt's
son that you meet somewhere, they might know you, They
might know someone they might know. You know, have a
Twitter account that tweets something and someone sees it like,
you've got to be open also nice? All right, Bobby,
Bobby Brown's here with us if you don't know. Uh,

(01:39:26):
And before we let you go, Bobby, we're going into
spring soon, you know in certain areas, and then hot,
hot months, and I know that you always say we
have to change what we do to our face in
those months to keep it looking beautiful. So what is
your suggestion for everybody? What should we be doing right
now to prepare well? Certainly, um, thank goodness, it's going

(01:39:49):
to be warm here, because it's not been. It's not
been great for anyone's skin. So you've got to make
sure we're rubbing your skin right now and putting on
the right moisturizer and choosing makeup textures that are right
for your skin. I happen to love things that give
a glow, which is why I made the Miracle bamb
I mean, I named it miracle bomb because for me,

(01:40:11):
it's a frigging miracle. Can use it. You can even
use it on the flyways in your hair. It's so
crazy you could you could use it on anything. So
there's one that has no color, which is on Naturale,
and then there's three that are tinted. I wear the
tawny because I like to have like a vacation look.
There's you know, a rosy one, there's a bronzy one.
And for you guys, you know, guys also could use

(01:40:33):
the on Naturale or the Hippie stick. So the Hippie
stick is a bomb, and I leave it in like
next to my bed in the bathroom. I put it
on my face, I put it on my cuticles, I
put it on my feet. It smells like like a
hippie product, which is why it's called hippie stick. And

(01:40:54):
then for for your makeup for spring, you just want
to like have fresh skin, so maybe don't wear up
your foundation or wear less of it. You know, maybe
get one of the pencils to kind of cover up redness,
dark circles, and just like do makeup. That's right with
your style, smoky eye. First of all, everyone needs everyone

(01:41:16):
needs liner. And for spring, you know people are gonna
want to get out and feel good. So just go
play and have fun. Sparkles, Sparkles, we Love. We're still on.
We learned that the average woman will eat four pounds

(01:41:37):
of lipstick in a lifetime. Just a little bit before
you pounds an opportunity to make a natural and Jones
Road is all natural. It's all clean. By the way,
maybe I should make a lipstick that has multi vitamins
in it. Yes, yes, you should be it's actually doing good.
That's a great idea. Trademarked right here on air. You did. Yes,

(01:42:01):
So if people want to follow you on Instagram, where
are you? I know you changed your Instagram handle not
too long ago. I am just Gus just Bobby dot
com dot com. Yeah, bibb. I not the singer, not
the singer Road and not the brand. That's why I
dropped the brown. Yeah, every dropped the brown because it

(01:42:21):
gets a little couches. That sounds so wrong. You dropped
the brown my dog. My dog just dropped a brown
under the piano. Clean it up. That was awesome. I
gotta tell you, guys. I was on the phone with
Bobby for a long time yesterday and just having it's

(01:42:42):
a conversation on the phone shifts my world every single time. Yeah,
and Bobby. When I think of Bobby, I think the
word courage because I just don't see you running away
from anything. You run into it and run I run
away from not not feeling happy and good and being aggravated.
I run away from that stuff, and I try to

(01:43:03):
change my attitude. You're frightened by all the things you
should be frightened, but you're fabulous. Having you on the show,
especially today, is just an honor. Thank you for help
you guys. Then I want I'm going to order some jewelry.
Wait to you guys, see me next time with my bracelet.
Love me well, Thank you so much. We appreciate it.

(01:43:24):
We love you, Bobby. I'll be harassing you later. Yeah,
in the hood, that was a man. I love her.
I love her. I feel like I could sit and
pick her brain for hours, just on business and the
things that she's done. She's so impressive. Do we have
Sam would sound? Do I have to do it? I

(01:43:45):
would come back with Sam can do her name? All right?
All I hear is do sound with Sam? Right now? Yeah?
What is your show? You can do what you want? Suggestion. No,
we don't want to be that bad. I mean we
want to be kind of good, right, all right? Up
next with Sam would sound? On International Women's Day. Celebrating

(01:44:05):
International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and The Morning Show choose
to create history, not to be created by it. Celebrating
International Women's Day, Elvis Duran and The Morning Show, what

(01:44:25):
a great show today. Thank you, Good morning everyone. It
is International Women's Day's Danielle and Gandhi and we have
taken over the show. We can't believe how fast this
show has gone this morning. Get like flew by. It's
so insane, but it did. You bring this sweat. I
feel like I've frogs just a little bit this morning.
I had to take a migraine pill. I'm getting a microne.

(01:44:46):
That's so much responsibility. It's great, you're doing a great
showy guys. We heard from Bobby Brown. She called back
and said, if you go shopping on her website, it's
uh Jones Road beauty dot com, Jones Robeauty dot com.
Use the checkout code Elvis twenty and you'll get twenty
percent off your order. Yeah that's all. That's a lot

(01:45:07):
of money. I went ahead and dittle shopping. Go get
that stuff. It's great. We actually had our digital director,
Ali was telling us how she swears by that magic bomb. Yeah, miracle,
it's miracle bomb. Yeah that it's the most amazing thing ever.
And her sister loves it. And I love the fact
now that Sam is taking over for Garrett today. So
Garrett usually brings us the sound every day, but today

(01:45:29):
Sam is giving us the sound. I'm very a homage
to our greatest American Yes, with all female sound today,
it's only appropriate. All right, let's get into sound with Sam.
All right. So first thing, I am always so impressed
whenever I would learn about a cartoon character that's a
dude and I find out their voice by a woman.

(01:45:50):
So here's a little montage. These are five different female
voice actors playing six different male characters. So let's see
if you could get them all. Just get blah blah
blah dark Jackie. Listen, you're bugging and dying. He's alive.
I tell you hellave think Think, Think my lost. I

(01:46:11):
wish you were the only wine school. Eat my shorts.
I got your gut, I got the dude from Rugrats. Yes,
and Bart Simpson, and I think I fell off after
any of those are before those text Laboratory Chuckie from Rugrats,

(01:46:34):
Tommy Pickles, Jimmy Neutron, Timmy Turner from Jimmy Neutron is
a girl, I know that's hello, Bart Simpson. Yeah, I
love them. Okay, So we were all super impressed this
year because Sarah Thomas was the first female Super Bowl referee.
But someone else had to pave the way, and that
woman was Jane chas Stain. She was the first female

(01:46:56):
sportscaster in the country in nineteen seven five, and there
were so many obstacles for this woman. But here's a
little clip from her local station in nineteen seventy one
at a basketball game. Good guys moving them all across
the mid court line. The defense is pressing. Now, that's
going to be a hell ball and there's going to

(01:47:16):
be a drum. Even only one though, I was holding
the ball because he was holding it in his front
court for more than five seconds while being closely guarded.
It's so old time. Yeah. And then another woman that
really impressed us this year was Amanda Gorman And you

(01:47:38):
guys know she did the inaugural poem, but in nineteen
ninety three, Maya Angelou was the first woman to do
that for us. So here's a little clip from her poem,
on the Pulse of Morning, and I think it's super powerful. History,
despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived. But if faced

(01:47:59):
with courage, need not be lived again. Lift up your
eyes upon this day breaking for you, give birth again
to the dream women, children, men, Take it into the
palms of your hands, molded into the shape of your
most private need, sculpted into the image of your most

(01:48:21):
public self. Well, yeah, she's the powerhouse. You guys got
to look up that entire speech if you can. They
say that stand up comedy is the toughest job in
the entire world, and if that is true, Phyllis Diller
might be the most impressive woman of all time because
she's so good Elvis. She's credited as the first female

(01:48:42):
comic and I freaking love her. So here's a little
bit of her stand up from nineteen sixty nine. Thank you,
Thank You, thank you very much. She's thinking I'm overdressed.
This is my slip. I gotta figure that just won't start.
My body is in such bad shape. I were prescribe
shouldn't underwear. I finally had a ship tattooed on my chest.

(01:49:04):
I wanted something on it. Would you believe that I
once entered a beauty contest? I must have been out
of my mind. I not only came in last, I
got three hundred and sixty one get weld cards. If
you're not familiar with Phyllis Diller, do yourself a favor

(01:49:25):
and check her out. She's just completely hilarious even to
look at. I love that woman. And of course, I
mean we are top forty, so it's only appropriate. I
finished this segment with the top selling female recording artists
of all time, and you guys know who it is.
Who is she? Madonna? Madonna? Oh yeah, first number one

(01:49:53):
hit in nineteen eighty four. Thank you, Sam. I know
we have to take a break, but we're gonna be
coming back with our boss, our big boss lady. We
love her. THEA is on the way for ye. Right
after this International Women's Day. Celebrating International Women's Day, Elvis

(01:50:13):
Duran and The Morning Show celebrating International Women's Day. Elvis
Duran and The Morning Show. Good morning, it is International
Women's Day. It is Danielle and Gandhi taking over your
airwaves today. The boys are still here. Hello boys. We

(01:50:38):
didn't lock him in a closet. We thought about it,
but we didn't do it. We did so when we
were talking about who we wanted to have on today, um,
we decided that one of the women that maybe you
don't hear a lot about on our show because she
really is running the show behind the scenes, is THEA Mitchell.
She is the executive VP of Programming here at iHeart
and I know, and I know, God do you have

(01:51:00):
a million stories about her. But she's one of those
women that anytime I have a problem, or if I
have an issue or if something's going on, I can
go to THEA and she is going to embrace it
and fix it and just make me stronger. She is amazing, absolutely,
even when it comes to this. Yesterday, you know, we
were tossing around ideas and at the very last minute
we were all like, oh my god, we gotta get THEA.

(01:51:21):
Like THEA is very important. I texted THEA late at night.
She got back to me within minutes and was like, yeah,
whatever you need. So that's the kind of person THEA is.
She's not only our boss, but she's a coach, she's
a friend. We love her, and she's on the phone.
Hi THEA, Ya, Hi lady, and then hello, thank you
for coming on to talk to us, because there's a

(01:51:42):
lot of stuff that we want to talk to you about.
I see Nate raising his hand, so yeah, let's let's
let Nate get this. In's laughing. You're gonna listen to
THEE and you're gonna say, wow, she sounds amazing. That's
a such a clear connection. THEA is such a pro
She text me and goes call my landline because it'll
be a better connection. Yeah, school, I'm old school. Well

(01:52:05):
we appreciate that. So THEA. One of the reasons that
we wanted to talk to you the most is because
I know Dan yell and I get the question all
the time, how did you get into radio? How did
you get into the industry? What are some of the
issues you deal with and what is it that they
look for? And you, as the executive VP of programming,
would have all that information, maybe even more so than
Dan Yell and I. So, what would your advice to

(01:52:27):
those women be. Yeah, I think for anyone who's looking
to get into industry, particularly women, you know, you have
to become a student of the game and focus on
you know, focus on the basics. I really really believe
that you have to run before you crawl and build
upon that foundation. And I recognize, particularly now in our

(01:52:50):
you know, with the pandemic hopefully coming to an end,
but still with internships and things being still kind of
on lockdown, that you have to get creative and so
you can be a content creator anywhere right now today
if you take advantage of technology to watch the greats.
When you talk about Elvis Duran or Angie Martinez, I mean,

(01:53:10):
all the behind the scene footage is there. It used
to be when I got in the business. I got
into college radio Hampton University, shout out to all the
HBCUs out there, and that's where I learned my craft.
But nowadays you can literally go through the Internet and
go behind the scenes and see what the greats do.
And when I say watch them and hone your skills,

(01:53:31):
I'm not saying become them, because that is not what
it's about. You know, you can be inspired by others,
but you still have to be your own person. And
I think the best personalities are authentic to themselves. I
always I'm a strong believer in looking in the mirror,
and you have to look in the mirror and say
to yourself, who do I want to be? What type

(01:53:53):
of talent do I want to be? Do I want
to entertain Do I want to be a jock talking
of music? Do I want to be a commendator, commentator?
Do I want to do talk radio? Whatever that may be?
But you have to be your authentic self. And then
the other thing, ladies, is there's so many jobs behind
the scenes, and you know, so let me you know,
there's so much of us behind the scenes, and maybe

(01:54:14):
your gift is making others shine. It's such an important gift.
So there's producers and digital directors and marketing teams and
program directors and just a world of incredibly talented people
who can make the magic happen. But you know, all
of us have a phone. If someone I get this
from young ladies all the time who want to be
air talent, all of us have a phone. You can

(01:54:35):
right now start doing audio notes on your phone. Or
you can start a podcast, or you can use social media.
And the other thing is you don't have to make
it public. You know, I don't know about anybody else,
but my first air check was horrible. Yea, and so
and so you can start, you decide when you make
it public, and so and so forth. But I think

(01:54:56):
that nowadays, with technology, there are so many ways to
start honing your skills and learning before you even walk
in the door. And then the other thing I would
like to share is and this is for everyone, but
you know, more importantly, I would say this. I say
this to women all the time. I say this to everybody,
young people. Women, you have to get comfortable. Being uncomfortable,

(01:55:19):
you have to fear can paralyze you. It can keep
us from reaching our greatest potential. Women certainly has challenges
we have to maneuver. I believe some more hurdles. But
this goes for everybody. Self doubt, anxiety, those things that
stop you. You have to conquer those and you have

(01:55:39):
to willingly put yourself in situations that you confront your
fears and your self doubt. I mean, someone said to
me one time, where you seem so confident, and I said, well,
you know, confidence comes by doing, it comes by action.
I have the same fears and self doubt and have
been in situations where I've been like, oh my god,
I've never been in this before, I don't know how

(01:56:00):
to maneuver, or oh, I'm the only woman here. I've
had all of those situations throughout my entire career. But
you know, you have to conquer them. You have to
make sure you confront them. And that's how you breed
confidence by doing by action. And that's the best advice
I can give to anybody, particularly women, because we will

(01:56:21):
most often be the only woman in the room and
as you move, as you move higher, that's the case.
But you have to want to be that woman in
the room because you're going to open the door for
the next women coming in, and that's an important responsibility.
And I also think that I remember when I was
coming up, I always asked if people needed help, even

(01:56:41):
if it wasn't in the area that I wanted to
wind up in. I would walk around the building and
I would say, Hey, I'm Danielle, does anybody need any help?
Because people remember you that way. They remember that you're
a go getter and that you really want to be around,
and they go, if something opens up, they go, you
remember that so and so who puffed her head in, Yeah,
talk to her, maybe she can do something. And I
feel like that's one of the reasons why they asked

(01:57:03):
me to stay around, because I just made my face
known and I was in everybody's face, and I'm like,
that's right, I'm here, Daniel, You're one hundred percent right.
I built my career, especially in the beginning, and I
am here to serve, right, I am here to serve. Yeah,
And so that's what it was. It was taking the
jobs that others didn't want to do, being available when
other people said, hey, it was inconvenient, and making sure

(01:57:26):
Because let me tell you why it was that way
for me, and I'm sure it was this way for you.
I was learning. I was learning every every job I did,
every time I helped out the programmer or the jock
or the producer or the production person or whoever it
may be, the currency was learning and knowledge. And so
as much as I was helping them, they were helping

(01:57:48):
me too, and and me being open to say, hey,
I'm here to serve. I'm here to help you whatever
you need. It was a mutual relationship. Do you know
what I'm saying, And You're right, it sets you a heart,
it sets you apart. Yeah, and THEA, I just want
to take a moment to tell you thank you very
much because one of the biggest things that I've dealt
with as a woman and as a minority was imposter

(01:58:11):
syndrome and feeling like I don't belong in the room
where I am because for so long we're told you
don't belong here, right, but you, being a minority and
being a woman and just being an amazing in general,
you have really helped me get past that. This whole
show has helped me get past that and say, you
might not feel like you belong here, but we're telling
you you belong here. So step up, step up to

(01:58:31):
the plate, and do what you need to do. And
I love you guys for that. And if there's anyone else,
any other little brown girls out there, are girls in general,
just know that you do belong in the room. You
are wanted. Your voice is important, it's necessary, and that's
how we make things different. So thank you THEA for that.
Ah well, thank you, thank you for being such a
great example to everybody. Well You're the only person who
would ever say that I love you. True, It's true,

(01:58:52):
It's true. You have you guys have to own that.
I mean all of you guys up there. I mean
you know you're you're an example. You know, Gandhi, Danielle,
what you guys do, Sam, Diamond, Ali Deanna behind the scenes.
I mean, it's it's amazing, and you certainly have a
great crew of brothers to help as well. But but
you know, there's we talk about diversity and inclusion, and
a lot of times you forget the inclusion part. And

(01:59:14):
diversity doesn't matter if the inclusion part isn't there. Right,
you have to have your voice, you have to be heard,
you have to be part of part of it. And
so I think you guys represent that every day. We
love Thank you everyone who asks THEA with all your stuff,
because obviously she's amazing, really quick. Uh, listening to THEA is. Look,

(01:59:35):
you know how I feel about THEA. I'll leave it
right there. But yeah, everyone needs a THEA, you know what,
and look for the thea's in your circle. Someone who
lifts you up, makes you feel great. They don't make
you feel stupid when you ask any question you want
to ask. Everyone needs a THEA and so at the
same time we all need to be Atha, so it
works both ways. THEA. We love you. Thank you so much.

(01:59:57):
Thank you ladies. Okay, thank you. Happy International Women's Day. Yay. Yeah,
oh that was awesome. All right. I know we're running late.
I saw Nate do the sweaty take a break sign,
so I guess we have to take a break so
he doesn't swept more. It's International Women's Day. Hi, This

website and social media accounts. An inspirational woman for me
is Taylor Swift because she uses her voice to help
empower other women. Happy International Women's Day. Celebrating International Women's Day,
