Speaker 1 (00:01):
Let's play a game with Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Let's do it. We win or wake up in the
moment caught? How old is this song? Just saved by
the bell myself as the bell. All right. The reason
why we're playing this old, washed up song is your

(00:28):
opportunity to win a Glamours prize. There are a lot
of movies out there about high school, and since it
is teacher Appreciation Week gone, he thought it'd be a
good idea to have a contest a game having to
do with high school movies, classic movies about high school.
All right, let's see if Kelly can do this. Hello Kelly,

(00:49):
thanks for being so patient and holding on.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
No good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
How are you doing okay? By the way, heads off
to you. Kelly is a speech teacher.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
I am, I am.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
We could use you here. Yeah, we must drive her
nuts sometimes. Yeah, we're an example of how you shouldn't speak.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
What are you?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
What are your biggest pet peeves when it comes to speech?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I feel like it depends on what the teachers know.
So having teachers country and say well, it's the speech problem,
and I'm going that's not not exactly what it is.
There's certain things are developmentally appropriate. So again it's just
the kind of matter of advocating for the kids.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Oh I thought you were like speech and debate maybe
and people were doing things. No, no, no, no.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
I'm a speech language pathology.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
So if I had a lisp or something like that,
I would come to you to help.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
You with that.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Okay, exactly, Okay, well, okay, let's say let's have a lisp.
I do have a little a little bit of a
lisp and wait and a stuttering problem. Let's start with
the lisp. How do you how can you curl out
the list? Let's say it's a lisp. So I need
to move my tongue somewhere differently, right exactly.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
So when you're doing a lisp, you're putting your tongue
between your front teeth. It's called intergentalizing. So I can
tell you to track your tongue behind your teeth. So
I often that's what I'm telling my little ones as
I'm saying, okay, put it in a cage, trap it
behind your teeth, and then try to try again. Get there,
and that kind of helps them move their time.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Let me try that, Let me try that. Okay, this
is whizzled this and with all this, now your whisper. Now, yes,
I'm trying to get rid of my list. Kelly, what
about a bronx accent? Do you help with that?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
I mean, the bronx accent. You just have to get
your rs back in there. But that's okay.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
But here's what they do, Kelly. And you're calling from Cleveland.
If you're from New York area, you know you add
RS when there's an A, and then you use an
A when there's an R. So it's it's it's Vodker
is the drink? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
And uh, if I was a speech therapist in New York,
I'd have to know that compared to where I am now,
you'd want to teach to what the local dialect are.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
See the wocal dialect is correct? Well, what Cleveland dialect
issues do you have to deal with? That kind of
drive you crazy?

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I mean, sometimes we get people who are saying, like
the vowels we say a lout of air like it's
up in our nose, or a yeah, exactly right, naster.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
You know, if you're teaching a child, would you teach
him Mario or Mario No?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I would depends It depends on if I was I
guess Mario. I would say Mario.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
So it depends on where you live, right right.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
And it depends on if it's like if it's the
child's name, or if we're talking about the video game character,
like if if their parents called them Mario, then we're
gonna go with Mario.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Perfect. Yeah, all right, let's let's do this, Kelly. Although
we could go on and on, and I find I
find what you do very fast. Okay, here we go, So, Kelly,
happy Teachers Week and all educators out there and everyone
has to do with anything that has to do with education,

just gonna say I texted and emailed it to you,
so Hopelly you have it. Here we go. Now, are
you good with your movies?

Speaker 3 (04:09):
