Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
This Dan in the Morning Show.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
We have such a great time last night all together,
well most of us. Scotty Bee couldn't make it, Froggy
wasn't there, Deanna wasn't there all the rest of the show.
I mean, there were twenty of us at the Chef's
for Kids Cancer dinner where every table has its own chef.
We had our friend Peter Boutros from Staten Island the best,
(00:28):
and there are a lot of great chefs there. I mean,
it was just, of course, you know this organization, it's
originally you know, Cookies for Kids Cancer, and now in
the chef world, the chefs want to do these dinners,
and it was this incredible yeah. But I get such
a kick in the head looking down the table. We
had twenty of us at our big table, and everyone
(00:48):
I work with in love is just talking with each
other and having fun and laughing. And you're meeting my
friends from the you know, the chef world and whatever,
and now you're friends with them. I love that.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
It's awesome. It is nice. It's nice when we have
a work event and we're all going to be together
and I'm not like, oh man, I have to hang
out with my coworkers. I love it.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Now. We had a lot of fun, raise a lot
of money kids cancer research. Seriously, but you know it's
kind of funny. Where and scary brought us up years ago.
Don't you get a little, a little upset when you
see one of your friends poach another one of your
friends and they become friends. Now's poaching. We're all friends.
(01:33):
Who cares?
Speaker 1 (01:34):
If I'm friends with you and I introduce you to Gandhi?
You can never be closer to Gandhi than I am
with God.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Well, yes I can.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Sounds like good.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
This is the world, This is the world works. You
can never have more joy than I can have never and.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
You certainly cannot hang out with Gandhi behind my back.
You always have to invite me if I introduce you
to Gandhi.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
No, No, If I introduce Gandhi to anyone and from
another a friend of thee and they become friends and
they start going out with each other having dinners, and
I'm not invited. Okay, you don't get no, I don't.
Speaker 5 (02:08):
I think maybe in the beginning, like the first time
or maybe the second time you hang out. Maybe you
should just like invite the person just to be nice
and see if they want to hang out, but not
forever scared. You can't like go all of them. No, wait,
even years ago they invited us. I see what you're saying, Frog,
but you can't always do it.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Sometimes. Whatever I'd love for you guys to get to
know each other behind my.
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Back, friends of friends is usually the best way to go.
Because your friend that you like and you trust and
you know you get along with, has already vetted that person,
so you know, like, Okay, they got something something good
going on over there.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Let it go. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I can understand why he'd be a little incent.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, I don't see. This is the thing. If you
don't have any crap talking going on, then you have
nothing to worry about. Go ahead, Daniel, what are you saying?
Speaker 6 (02:51):
I just I mean, because I've seen it happen before,
and I've seen people get hurt by it where they
were really close to someone and then this other person's
introduced and then that person kind of gets out and
I can see feelings getting hurt.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
Maybe you don't do it on purpose, but.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
I can totally see feelings getting hurt. You know, especially
you know everyone's talking about scary, so you know there
is that crap talking.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
I mean, so if I introduce a friend aid or
friend being and they go out and hang out, as
long as there's nothing some animosity going on or some
underlying conditions, yeah, then we're fine. I don't care. I
love it. I actually get joy out of it. I'm like,
look what I did. I brought these people to get
another having fun.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
You do, and you also don't really care too much
about mixing your friend groups. You'll everyone come have a party.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Oh absolutely. And you know me, I'd rather stay home
if you guys want to go out there, it's one
lesson dinner I have to go to. I'll stay home
and pet the dog. And I'm being serious, you know
I'm being serious. Are the fear of going out? Fogo?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
That's what I have too. I have the fear of
being invited?
Speaker 3 (03:48):
What is that almost has? Homo? The happiness of the
happiness of missing out. I'm joining you there, are join
me in the world of homo. I'm as homo as
Homo gets.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
They always go, aren't you upset? You're not going?
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Like no, no, no, it's no no, Homo happiness of
missing out. Our friend Shelley Flash. You know, two girls
cookshop her Jamaican tacos that won at the be It
was in a Taco and Tequila Knight at the Wine
Food Festival. She's coming in really, Yes, she's bringing the
(04:22):
taco Oh my god, I love her. Also, Oh, we
have a guest today, yes, Oh, a Sherry Shepherd. Love
Sherry Sheppard. Her show yesterday was great. She was talking
about confidence and how she you know, she's known for
many things, not only hosting The Sherry Shepherd Show, but
she stands up comic as well, and she talked about
(04:44):
how she kind of gave it up for a while
and then when she had to go back on stage
to do stand up comedy, she lost she lost her
confidence and she had a really good segment about that.
Let's talk about that with her today. Oh we're talking
about friend poaching. Ronnie texted and good morning.
Speaker 7 (05:01):
Good morning.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
How are you.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
We're doing well? So you wanted to say something about
friend poaching in your life? What happened?
Speaker 7 (05:09):
Yes? So it was during my wedding. I only had
two bridesmaids. They're both my friends since high school, but
they weren't necessarily friends in high school, and so you know,
they got together to do bridesmaids things, no worries, everything
was fine. But then after my wedding, they just didn't
really text me back really a lot, and so I
just kept reaching out, kept reaching out, and they just
(05:31):
ghosted me. And now I see on social media that
they are best friends and they hang out and do
everything together, and yeah, I never got any idea why.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
So was there an underlying issue with one or both
of them, or I.
Speaker 7 (05:48):
Mean one of them was also planning her own wedding
at the same time, and so sometimes that would be
conflicting and I would get, you know, a little upset,
But there was really nothing more than that.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Wow, have you ever reached out to them to say, hey, guys,
what's going on? Remember me bride?
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I did.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
I reached out a lot to them, just wondering why,
and they literally won't say anything.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
That's their number, We'll.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Text them, yeah, we'll call them. Yeah, that's weird.
Speaker 7 (06:17):
One of the reasons may have been because the one
that was getting married said that if I was trying
to start a family, she didn't want me in her wedding.
Speaker 6 (06:27):
Because you would have been pregnant when maybe the pictures. Yeah,
you know what, good riddance.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Yes, sometimes things happen for a reason.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Let the other lady have them have her care.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Yeah. See, it's kind of weird how people see different
sides to a story. Someone would say, well, I don't
know I want I don't want her in my wedding
because she's starting a family. Another friend would say, I'm
so excited she's starting a family. I mean, I don't exactly. Yeah,
And it's such a simple decision to make to be
happy for someone.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Gosh, so stupid. I don't like her. You don't, You're
better off.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
I don't like her at all. Oh yeah, I Sometimes
these things in life they happen for a reason, you know.
Good for you. All right, go find some friends. You
don't need her, all right. Hey, it's good talking to you.
Thanks for listening to us. Have a great day.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Okay, thank you, bye bye.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
It's not only National Taco Day, it's also National cinnamon
roll Day and National Vodka Day. Can we combine the three?
Is there a way?
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Why not?
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Vodka and cinnamon rolls and tacos? I don't know. We'll
give it a try. What time Sherry Shepherd and a Half.
I can't wait, it's the weekend. Hey, this is Miley Cyrus.
