Gandhi breaks down everything going on in the world. Here's
her three things. On September eleventh, two thousand and one,
three hundred and forty three members of the FDNY died,
and now the same number of members have died from
nine to eleven related illnesses over the weekend. The FDNY
commissioner posted to social media that since marking the twenty
second anniversary of the nine to eleven attacks earlier this month,

the department has experienced the loss of two more FDNY
members due to those related illnesses. An emt died of
cancer last Wednesday, and a retired firefighter died of pulmonary
fibrosis on Saturday. It looks like a tentative agreement between
the Writer's Guild of America and Hollywood's top studios may
bring an end to the writer's strike. The guild released

a statement yesterday saying the deal was made possible by
the enduring solidarity of WGA members and extraordinary support of
our union siblings. The strike began one hundred and forty
days ago, bringing the film and TV industry to all halt.
While union members still need to formally vote to end
the walkout, actors will continue to strike until the sag
after union also reaches a deal with studios, and finally

some great news out of Maui. This is incredible. It
makes us all so happy. The Banyan tree is sprouting
new life and it looks amazing. People are rejoicing because
everybody thought the tree was done after being burned in
the wildfires that devastated the region. However, volunteers have been
doing whatever they can to make sure the tree recovers,
and now small shoots and live tissue have started to grow.
