Speaker 1 (00:00):
What would you talk about on your on your podcast Fine.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Elvis Present fifteen Morning Show.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Here we go at the holidays.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Holiday solid Everyone's like, don't but day jobs?
Speaker 3 (00:26):
And Andy Williams do anything other than Christmas music?
Speaker 5 (00:30):
Did he? Why are you asking people like we have
any idea?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I think because you know, I think we know a
lot of these people for doing their holiday songs, but
they did stuff other than holiday music.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
The most wonderful time of the year.
Speaker 4 (00:42):
Where do I begin speak? Soft? We love a time
for us, can't take my eyes off you? The possible dream?
Speaker 6 (00:50):
Great?
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Well, see the original artists on.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Those sounds like he was all no, he he does
cover song like.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
Wait, what's the Hawaiian wedding song? Something different?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Okay? Well, Andy Williams, we love you.
Speaker 5 (01:08):
Who was the artist that came in and said, you'll
know I'm struggling when I do a Christmas album.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I've been trying to remember that.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Yes, was that It wasn't chord Over Street, but it
was somebody in that vein. Was it Charlie Pooth?
Speaker 3 (01:18):
I think it was Arlie.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
I think it was like cord Over Street.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
But yeah, is that like a thing in the music
industry where if you record a holiday album, it means
you need the money and you.
Speaker 7 (01:30):
I think it has that Vegas that Vegas feel to it,
like how artists like, if I'm doing Vegas, my career
is over. But if you look at artists now there
But but that's what I'm saying. I think Christmas music
has kind of taken a turn, with the exception of
Charlie Poof just saying that recently.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
But also you like the Michael blue Blaze of the
world that he's known to be a Christmas well.
Speaker 7 (01:49):
I think some artists, if they can get to that
point and find the Mariah Carry or the Michael boul Blade,
then it's like, Okay, I'm good. But if you can't,
then you're just putting together a crappy Christmas song and
you'll be known for that for the rest of your life.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Away your Andy Williams passed away in twenty twelve.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
So soon I told you about his ex wife, right, No,
she was a murderer. She killed her after they separated.
She killed her boyfriend. And then Andy Williams went to
like trial and stuff with her. Oh supported her anyways.
Speaking of celebrities from the Holiday box of questions, ooh,
(02:25):
what has been your favorite interaction on or off the
air with a celebrity?
Speaker 4 (02:30):
Oh, how about that?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Okay, I'm going to go to one of the first
people I ever met, Will Smith. He was I was
at Ryan Seacrest show at the time. He came in,
and he went out of his way came over, Hey man,
I'm Will Nice to meet you, but what are you
doing here? Fifteen minutes the guy talked to me, probably
was like thirty seconds, but he actually went out of
his way to make me feel like I matter, is
(02:55):
what I think a lot of people don't do for sure.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Gosh, this is one we played this game the other day,
The Best and the Worst. Yeah, yeah, so I think
we kind of all know people's favorites, right I think.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
I mean, I feel like I feel like with us,
it's like I feel like the Enrique I. Glaciers is
of the world, and the Michael bou Blaze and the
Ed Sheeran's anytime we see them, anytime we're out and about,
they take the time to hanging Jimmy, they hang out,
they chat with us, and Rique's just like the most
amazing person. He's just like.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
Coming on, come hang out.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
You know.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
They always remember you, which is nice.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Chris Martin from Coldplay. I just vividly remember him walking
into where the phone answering area was and sitting down
and with with you know, people that might have been
interning with us at the time. He's like, oh, what
goes on here? Oh, this is where we take our
phone calls. He was, may I try. He was answering
the request line for Z one hundred and people don't
even realize. And he's like taking song requests not even realizing, Hi,
(03:50):
this is Chris Martin on the other side of the phone.
But people who take a genuine curiosity in us.
Speaker 7 (03:55):
You had one with Jimmy Fallon at jingle Ball right
after his interview. I watched him come up to you
and yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
On, you know, unprovoked. I wasn't trying to get a picture,
you know, I know it was very busy. I thought
I would have. I would have jumped Believe me, if
I wanted the picture, I would have jumped up on
the stage like everybody else did. I literally would like,
I have a lot of pictures with Jimmy. I was
just kind of standing there watching he comes off the stage.
He didn't have to like stop and and he saw me,
(04:24):
he was scary, and you know, it gives me a
big hug. He's done that like three times now, where
he's seen me randomly whatever, like when I was but
you're missing the moment.
Speaker 7 (04:31):
He goes, hey, I just saw you and Rose uh
played apt So he literally watched the video.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Watched the video of me doing at top of tit
with you know, the Rose drinking game. So and he
told me about that video, you know, and that was
kind of cool because you know, you don't really get this.
I didn't know that Jimmy watches any of any of
our stuff, you know, but that was kind of cool
that he stopped down. Sabrina Carpenter Last year, Danielle and
I were waiting to go on stage somewhere and then
all of a sudden, Sabrina was walking by with her
(04:59):
on Taraja people, and then she doubled back, doubled back,
came up to us and started hugging and kissing. H Yeah,
and she'd have to do that. These are the people,
the people that like kind of get to know us
beyond what can you do for me?
Speaker 6 (05:15):
That's a very good explanations, right, But people who take
genuine interests in us, and and and people around us,
are you know, you know, into the back room.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
This question goes deeper. It's not just who's your favorite,
it's like, what's that interaction that you really truly remember?
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Right?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
I remember seeing uh Nick Jonas one time outside of
this venue and he just looks at me and he goes, hey,
what's up. Good to see And he actually remember who
I was, which I don't ever think these people remember
who I am. I'm wallpaper. I'm just here to facilitate
getting you from the green room into the studio and
find some interesting stuff to talk about. But the guy
(05:58):
actually remembered who I was and that it was that
cigar party? Were you at that thing? And he offered
me a cigar? Yes, oh okay in Yes Vegas. And
it was just like, wow, this guy actually remembered who
I was.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
I'm just shocking.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Yeah, that's so funny that happened with like in Sync
and Backstreet and stuff because we've known them for so long.
Well now that we see them, they go, oh my gosh,
I haven't seen you in so long. How are you
or you're still there? That's so cool, like whatever, and
they remember and they and then they started reminiscing about.
Speaker 5 (06:27):
Remember the time we did this with the show and.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Remember, and that's it's nice because it's like you've grown
up with those people, and like they actually do remember
being there and being part of your whole world.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Do you know flow your mind, Yes, somebody remembers their
interaction with you.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I think about that all the time, not in uh
oh my god, the story. I heard you were going
to say something, but I know, so we think about
this all the time. We meet hundreds of listeners all
the time, so you might not remember them, but I
always try to think, like, well, they're probably gonna remember you,
so be nice about it, just like we remember every
interaction with celebrities for the most part, So be nice
(07:03):
to people. It's important.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
You know.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
For me, it's people that are kind of my kids.
And over the years there's been a lot of them.
I mean, when Jonah's brothers were performing up here, Cooper
was here and they were like super super sweet to her.
And I took her to see Jack's at Jones Beach
one time and she pulled my daughter behind stage and
was talking to her for like ten minutes and took
all her rings off and gave them to my daughter
(07:26):
and like that was the highlight of her year. She
still talks about that. How So it's really you know
a lot of these people that make time to you know,
talk to my kids. I mean, that's that's super special
to me because those are memories they'll have forever.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Like what's his name? The other night, after he got
off the jingle bowls Teddy Teddy swims and he was
giving all of the kids in the audience different pieces
of the jewelry off his body. Those kids will never
forget that. You ever forget that, you know.
Speaker 7 (07:53):
Yeah, justin Timberlake, he came up one day. He was
doing something with Elvis and the night before there was
a listening party where like maybe a thousand people. He
saw me and my wife Ally, who was pregnant at
the time with our son Hudson uh or no, our
daughter Madison. And after the next day, you know, hey,
I just want to say I didn't get to say it,
but thanks for coming last night. When'd your wife do?
(08:16):
What's the name going to be? And he took genuine
interest and he goes, hey, sorry, it was so late,
you know, we were just running behind. And I do
apologize like he made me feel like a human, you know,
and not.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Just like you.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
And then there are the opposite, Like I remember taking
to my mom to the Grammy Awards and we met
Elton John and he was wonderful to her, like absolutely wonderful.
He met her one night and said hi, blah blah blah.
The next day he saw her again and he said,
oh my gosh, I remember you from yesterday. Your daughter
brought you to the Grammys. And my mom was like,
oh my gosh, okay, I experienced.
Speaker 8 (08:47):
We met Barry Manilow and it was a totally different
you're not The picture is the picture of him, and
my mom is like, why are you making me take
this picture with this woman I have not, Like, it
was just horrible.
Speaker 4 (08:58):
He didn't talk to us. He did and then she
was just like, you know, and I felt bad because
she's been the Barry man.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
You say that that very mantle picture your mom got
is the same picture that I got with Elton John.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
Do you think maybe they were unable to smile from
all the work that they had got done.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
That could be, But he just wasn't friendly. He just
wasn't friendly. Like Ellen John was so friendly and so
nice to her, and and and the other one was
like whatever, yeah, you know.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
I would say on and off the air are two
totally different things.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
On the air.
Speaker 5 (09:26):
I've really loved Neilda grass Tyson and Bill and I
because they were so interesting and they had a ton
of cool stuff to say off the air. Jimmy Fallon,
of course, I feel like he's so targeted with the
things that he says about how I'm doing my job
or something that he thought was really funny. I appreciate that. Yeah,
and I like the all of us are good interactions,
so that someone paid attention to us. Yeah, and then
they complimented us we're fickle.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Well, thank you, Ruddy, I thank you. Interesting, fine, fine.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
