Speaker 1 (00:09):
Ye shooters.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Hell no, no, no, no, no, no. Welcome to the
naughty v nic sham your head stop shooter. It is
Monday morning, and our dear friend Garrett Vogel is with us. Hey, Garrett,
are you there?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Good morning, Bobby Shooter.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Good morning. It's been a minute, Garrett. Our schedules have
been up and down. You've been traveling. You had some
time off.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
I missed I missed you too, But you know what,
you need a good holiday from time to time. I'm
taking from your European brethren and taking as much time
off as possible and just to come back and refresh
and just win over the day.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Win over. I'm for that. I tell everybody that works
with me, works maybe for me, take your vacation days.
Do you know so many Americans do not take their
vacation days, which.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Is so stupid. Like I get it.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
You feel like the person that is, uh, you know,
Carl in the mailroom, He's going to come in and
take your job. You know what, good for Carl? You know,
let Carl do that, because at the end of the day,
Carl's going to be where you are if you don't
take your vacation.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Take your vacation days. It does make you a better worker,
a better employee, a better person. Enjoy your vacation. So
Kellyt's jump into the show. What time is it? My
friends that have tea time talking about working hard and
taking no vacations. Jennifer Lopez was spotted holding hands with
Matt Damon. Now, before you all explode, there is no
romance here. They are not not together. What happened is
(01:32):
that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, his longtime friend, are
producing Jlo's new movie. It's called Unstoppable, and it debuted
at the Toronto Film Festival. At the after party, Jlo
was spotted in deep, deep, long conversations with Matt and
at one point they were even spotted holding hands. Now,
(01:55):
Matt's wife was there. Ben was in la with his children.
He didn't want to distract couple of things here. Can
you be friends with your BFFs X and you're still
allowed to be friends if your best friend is Ben Affleck?
Can you still be friends with j Loo? And they
knew they were doing this in public. This wasn't in
a private meeting. This was at an after party that
(02:18):
literally had invited press, so there was press everywhere.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
It feels like a playbook out of Jennifer Lopez's you know,
work right there, knowing that hasn't been the best of
press times for j Loo and this would just you know,
turn things around, maybe just a little bit. But on
the on the other side of it, they have a
movie together. They need to promote the hell out of
it eventually and get the buzz going because as you know,
(02:46):
as the public, we hear about these award film festivals.
We just hear about the standing ovations. We don't hear
about the film per se. You know, we hear about
it after the facts. So this is trying to get
their project to stand out from the rest, and you know,
if it works, it works, So you know, and I
think that might be the thing right there.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
It does feel like a j Loo stunt, doesn't it.
We know Jennifer, she's the queen of this. She's really
the original real housewife, Like when you think of all
the shenanigans those housewives get up to, she was there first.
Jennifer Lopez knew how to get our attention. Now, just
so we do break that rule that you said, Garrett
about film festivals. I have friends who are at this
(03:24):
film festival, who are critics, and they said it is
unbelievable and they couldn't believe they were telling me this,
but they said that Jennifer Lopez could be nominated for
an Oscar and win. Now, we all thought she might
get nominated for Hustlers, but it never really was that serious.
I'm told Jennifer is giving the performance of a lifetime.
(03:48):
And ironically, the gift that Ben Affleck is gonna give
Jennifer to say goodbye is an Academy Award.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
So like raises a question like if you and I
were just sitting around in joying a glass of veno
and going would you get into and on again, off
again marriage twice, married twice to someone just to win
an Oscar?
Speaker 1 (04:11):
You know what I mean? So, so do you think
Jalo would go through all their trouble and.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
All that break, humiliation.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Or break and walk away with an asker?
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Yes at the end of the day, yes, yes, yes, yes,
if I get the asker, you could humiliate me twice
in public, maybe three times if I get the Oscar.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I do like that Matt is taking the high road here.
Like Matt, as a producer didn't need to go to
this A. He's a straight down guy, and I think
it must be difficult for him because you know that
after this conversation he went back to the hotel and
he called Ben and was like, she said this, she
said that, And so you know, those conversations are going on,
which brings us to our whole question of the day.
(04:53):
Jlo was spotted in a deep conversation with Matt Damon.
I question is can you stay friends with your b
f f X? So can Matt stay friends with Ben
afflecks X? Do you do that? If your best friend
breaks up with somebody, am I still allowed to be
(05:16):
friends with that person? It gets so complicated, there's friendship rules.
I have friends, some friends who if they fall out
with someone not a lover, if they just fall out
with another friend, they expect us all to fall out,
which is something I try not to do. But it's
complicated here, Garrett.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
I mean we're able to do this podcast. I mean
we turn off the mics, don't we just go out
of each other?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
I love you, we never find I love you. Go
vote on at Twitter page at Northey Nice rob. Our
facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure to check
back to morrow to hear your results, Garrett, what are
you working on?
Speaker 3 (05:49):
You know, the more that we realize James Gandelfini isn't around,
the more we.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Hear of the good that he did behind the scenes.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
You know, it's one of those things where you take
a look at life and wish that you knew about
these things about these people while they were alive. So
James Gandalfini, of course, playing Tony Soprano, he gave the
cast thirty thousand dollars each except for Edie Falco, who
played his wife, So everybody was They've been talking about
(06:18):
James Gandalfini recently and about his generosity. In the new
documentary that David Chase, it's pretty much about David Chase,
and it's it's pretty much extending the Sopranos story because
everybody wants a little piece more of Sopranos. They can't
get enough of rewatching it on Max. But Edie Falco
said that he gave the thirty grand to the crew,
(06:40):
you know, the cast and crew, the lighting, everybody behind
the scenes. And it's interesting because Gandolfini signed a five
million dollars per season contract after the third season, and
then after the third up until the third season. Then
after that his salary doubled, so that thirty thousand dollars
to James pretty much was you know, it was like, hey,
(07:01):
this is just extra money, and he gave to the
people that help support to make the show what it was,
which you love to hear. And that's just a small
small piece of the story in generosity that James Gandalfini
was while on the set of Sopranos.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, lovely, and even though he was earning ten million
a year, it still was thirty thousand, Like he still
did it. I know a lot of really rich people
who will barely pay for dinner. So to actually give
somebody cash to sit down and say, I'm going to
write every crew member on this production a check. It's
something that Taylor Swift did recently on her tours. She
(07:36):
gave everybody massive bonuses. So you can do it. I'd
love if this became the norm. But the documentary is extraordinary.
So it even has early audition tapes and you get
to see your favorite actors who went on to play
these legendary characters. And the last one that they that
they cast was Camilla was Edie Falco. They couldn't find
(07:57):
a Camilla An. Originally Dr Melphie went in for the
part of Camilla, but she didn't want that part because
she had just done Good Fellows, so she didn't want
to play a new another mobster's wife. An amazing, amazing documentary.
Just to give you some sense of people's generosity or
lack of it. David Chase, who earned I think more
(08:21):
money from the show than even James Gandalpeene. He was
the creator, the writer, the director. He moved into the
Penthouse in the building where I live, and for.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Christmas, Penthouse, let me tell you, you got David Chase,
you got Pete Wentz, you got Rob Shooter.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's the amazing building. I mean, it's an amazing building.
A couple of days ago the elevat Vater opened and
there was two Tony winners in the elevator and Bruce said,
is there room for a Grammy Winner because I know
it's like so no, it's a lovely, lovely building. But
in any case, David Chase bought the Penthouse and you
(08:59):
know what he gave the woman as a Christmas gift.
You give in New York City, you give out cash.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Gifts, a Sopranos box set.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
That's exactly what it gave them. He gave them, He
gave them the box set for you. The doorman loved it.
They absolutely loved it.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
But you know what's interesting about David Chase though, because
it's interesting that this documentary is out now because Sopranos
has been off the air for what almost fifteen or
twenty ish years? Wow, But he's trying to erase everything
that he did after the Sopranos, like the many scenes
of Newark, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
So it's like, hey, let's go back to the Sopranos.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
That's very fugular, probably very true. Okay, moving along, we
had a weekend of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's sightings.
They were at the US Open or they looked lovely there.
My sources tell me that she was on no lists
and she came through the entrance that the tennis players
come through. She was whisked up to that box and
there was lots and lots of security around the box.
She was also spotted at a friend's wedding, So in
(09:56):
New York City, a friend got married. They were spotted
at the wedding and probably my favorite sighting over the weekend,
they got pizza together in Brooklyn. So they were as
in Brooklyn and they walked into a pizzaia.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
And the shooter.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
Luke Cally's is a staple. It's like you look at
the list of you know, best pizzas in New York.
You're you're talking top of the top of the list
of Like this is where celebrities go. This is where
jay Z and Beyonce go on their date nights when
they're when.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
They're in the area.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
Is it hard to get in? Have you been there?
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (10:31):
It is extremely hard to get into, especially since the
fact that you have to punch bypass people like jay
Z and Beyonce, Taylor and Travis ed Sheeran, Charlie Pooth,
like these guys like Luke Cally's became so popular that
it's almost like the one of the hardest places to
get into.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
It's delicious pizza.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Oh it's yes, but you have to but like people
like us, we have to go like like at two
on a Tuesday, strolling in the places. This place is
like closed like once or twice a week too, Like it's.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Do they have a takeout? Can I just go and
buy a slice of No.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
No, this is this is a this is a restaurant,
This is not this is not a takeout. This is
this place rapture or do yourself for Google, and.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
I'm going to Google. Say the name of it again,
Garrett Callous. It's very famous. I've got it in my
notes here in my show notes that it's in Brooklyn's
Carroll Garden's neighborhood. Where's that, Garrett?
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I mean Brooklyn, obviously, but I mean we don't need
to get into the ground.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
But it's an area in Brooklyn. And if you can't
find it, just follow the limousines and all the celebrities
will lead you to this pizza place. What do you
think about spotted them over the weekend. I think it's
really great that these two are trying to have a
real life, Like even though she's the most famous person
in the world, going to your friend's wedding, going to
get some pizza, go into the US Opens. That is
(11:54):
sort of normal couple things to do. Maybe not that
fancy restaurant, and maybe we wouldn't go to the US Opens,
but going out and enjoying life is I think very
normal when you're dating.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
And you know what It's interesting because where her friend
had the the fashion show is Taylor Studio pretty much.
That's where she records most of her most of her stuff,
So it was like, could have could it have been
a front for Taylor to go in and record, But I.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Mean to plan the whole wedding though. Just to get
Taylor to record two new songs is a little much,
But you never know. With her, she's remarkable. I'm told
that at the US Opens, I had friends who were
lucky enough to attend that final amazing tennis match. They
said it was somewhat distracting, like there were a lot
of celebrities there, but then there's only one Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Oh oh, without a doubt.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
And the fact that that they're in the area, and
the other thing too, which I got to do a
little research when I'm pretty pretty positive about it, that
Travis is also in the area too outside of just
hanging with his his girlfriend Taylor Swift, but he is
in the process of shooting Happy Gilmour too with that
I'm Sandler, which is filming in New Jersey, so he
(13:03):
is uh a lot.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
Oh good, it's gonna pop up if we'll.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Well, probably he'll be in and out because he has
to travel back to Keebody.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Okay, let's move along. Nick Cannon is saying that he's
happy Mariah Carey has finally moved on. I think she
did a while ago. Niit Nick saying that dealing with
him must have been madness, and I think he's probably right.
What's he saying?
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Yes, so I'm sorry. I was looking at Kelly's pizza
for a second. All right, So so Nick Cannon shutting
down the idea of rekindling anything with ex Mariah Carey.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
Now it's the question that he receives.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Probably second most outside of are you having any more kids?
You know, is the fact are you getting back with Mariah?
So this is what this is what Nick said in
comments about that getting back together, saying, yeah, she don't
want me. She moved on from my crazy antics, which
you got. You gotta think like when Mariah looks like
the bigger person, like that just goes to show you
(13:58):
how crazy thing, how crazy Nick might be, you know.
So it's interesting they share kids together, and in all yes,
Nick told E News that he believed that him and
Mariah belong together. But you know, we're now in September
so things change in a month, you know, and he
might have realized, Yeah, that's not happening. Dealing with me
(14:20):
must be madness, he joked, And you know, when he's
joking about it, it's kind of like a little bit
of reality where he realizes that the life, especially outside
of just the business side of things, but more on
the pro creating side of things, is a little crazy.
And I'm sure Mariah Carry doesn't want to fully be
associated with that as much. So I could see that
might be the main reason why she might not want
(14:43):
to rekindle anything, you know, because that's the main source
anytime if they were to get together, let's just say,
Mariah Carry would constantly have to answer questions about Nick
Cannon and his dozen plus kids.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Yeah, that's exactly right. I think he had Nick wants
it both ways. In some interviews he implied is that
they are soulmates and one day maybe they'll get back together.
And then in other interviews he tells the truth, which
is she'd I'm want him back. It's a I think
it's been a little clever here but by Nick. But
the truth is, and I hit the phones, I spoke
(15:16):
to my Mariah sources. It is over, Mariah Carry and
Nick not getting back together. Okay, We're going to take
a quick break and we will be right back. Welcome
back to the Naughty but nic Sho. I'm rob shoot
with their dear friend Garrett vocal, Hey, Garrett, let's get
to the polls. Last last, thank you, Lasha. We talked
(15:39):
about Lady Gaga revealing how she met her fiance. It
was via her mom. Her mom set her up. Our
question to you was, would you allow your mother to
set you up on a date. Let's have a look.
Sixty percent said yes, you would. I think I would.
I think my mom would have a good sense of
(15:59):
who I would like.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
What about you, Garrett, Yeah, I think I would give
my mom a shot to kind of play match maker.
But you know, there's no turning back now, can't make
that happen. But since I'm married, But you know, I
think my mom would understand my my my likes and dislikes,
and I think she would do a good job.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
She'd pick me. It's painfully Garrett.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Imagine imagine just by fate, like my mom, My mom
somehow makes it to the UK, runs into you at
like a baguette shop.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
You like the palace. Maybe someone nice the palace.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
You're outside, you're outside, You're you're outside having a having
a smoke for some reason.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Right work past a horse and I looked out and
said Garrett's.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Mother Rob heard about and then she text.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
You, I've just met rough Shoes. When you two should
be together, I'll be lovely. Okay, don't forget to vote on.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
The day story Disney go.
Speaker 4 (16:58):
To that.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
A Facebook page and what he goes, and be sure
to check back to my brow to hear your results.
And now and nicest of the day, which also two
might be the biggest news of the day. This is
buried in the show. This is a big news story.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
So normally we get this like probably October November, but
since it is the first day of football, we find
out who is performing at the Super Bowl halftime show
this year, and we're talking Kendrick Lamar, probably one of
the biggest hip hop acts of the year. Definitely has
has seventeen grimy wins. He was a part of last
(17:37):
year's Hip Hop Show as well. He pretty much has
has quieted Drake from any type of noise that Drake
tried to make. He had a big beef with Drake
and everybody is arguing that maybe maybe Kendrick was the
winner of that. But all the rumors I have already started.
Could Kendrick bring out Drake at the Super halftime show
(17:58):
and make everyone's mind blown?
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Yeah? Amazing. I mean, my friends love Kendrick, they really do.
You don't get seventeen grammars if you're not the best
of the best. But there was a little disappointment. I
think my friends wanted Taylor Swift. I think I did two.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
She she's holding out man, And you know what, it
goes back because I think it's a It's Apple's halftime show.
So and jay Z's the curator. You know, maybe Travis
and Taylor took jay Z's Lukelli reservation the other night,
and maybe she was She was slated to she was
slated to perform, but once jay Z couldn't get into
(18:34):
luke Cally's because Taylor was there, he went with Ken.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Maybe that's theory.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
I'll go with that. I'll go with that. Okay, let's
have notice the day. Naughty naughty Andy Cohen's in real
trouble because private recordings and documents will be exposed by
Leah mcswainey. She was a former housewife and a drug lawsuit.
So Andy maybe facing some uncomfortable revelations as a judge
has allowed private recordings and documents to be accessed in
(19:02):
the lawsuit against him and Bravo. So McSweeney is suing
Andy and the network, claiming that they pressured her to
break her sobriety for the sake of making the show
more interesting. Now a judge had to decide what they
were going to allow in and the judge has decided
that these private materials, including recordings, documents, and even under
(19:25):
oath interviews, will be allowed. Insiders are saying this development
has the potential to expose and his inner most secrets. Previously,
Andy and his legal team had requested that the judge
pause the lawsuit until their motion to dismiss was heard. Clearly,
(19:49):
this is moving ahead a major moment for Bravo. Let's
end with a moment of Rob You're Robb, Rob you
Robbi you Rob. There's a new study. It's amazing. I
listened actually to a podcast about this, this news study.
It was an hour podcast and the takeaway was like
literally four or five words. But I didn't feel cheated
because the takeaway was so obvious, and I still didn't
(20:10):
see it coming. What makes people happy? Who are the
happiest people? Let me tell you the answers. You don't
have to listen to the hour. People are the happiest
are the ones that prioritize doing things that make them happy.
It's that easy. Think about what makes you happy, walking
your dog, going to the movies, listen to some music, maybe,
(20:30):
working out, whatever it is. Make a list to day
of what makes you happy, and then make all those
things a priority in your life. That's what makes you happy. Naughties, Hey,
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
listening to The Naughty Bit Nice with Robin Garrett Show,
a production of iHeartRadio. Don't forget to subscribe on the
iHeartRadio Apple podcast. Wherever you listen, leave us a review
(20:53):
if you can. They really do help. And remember all
together now, if you're going to be naughty, you gottabullicetate
everybody quick.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
It's not even nice with m
