So when it comes to golfers, you know, people don't
ever know what to buy us, and there are so
many different subscription services out there that I like to

try to help you weed through the bs. And so
today we are here to tell you about one of
the best subscription services on the market. We are joined
by Bobby from Short par Forward. Good morning, Bobby, how
are you. How's it going? Doing really really well? So
I want to say thank you for your time for
coming on the podcast. For sure. You know, as golfers,

people always buy us like stuff that we don't want,
Like they'll get you like a box of golf balls,
or to get you like some crap paperweight to put
on your desk and listen, it's not what we want.
You want of it that you can actually use as
a golfer. And that's where just one of the many
different reasons that these subscription boxes have really become huge.

I know my wife gets one from Makeup, and there's
there sucks subscriptions and underwear. There's all kinds of stuff,
but for golfers there really was not a great option.
So how did Short Part four come to life? Yeah, so,
you know in two thousand thirteen, UM, after seeing some
friends of mine has since have success in the men's

apparel of subscription space. UM. You know, I took an
idea to my business partner who was a good friend
of mine at the time, Martin, and uh, you know,
came up with an idea that said, Hey, I think
we can do this for golf and you know, golfers,
we'll do anything to look better and play better. Um.

And so you know, we spent the next you know,
really eight months to a year and putting this thing together. Um.
We launched in two thousand fourteens and uh you know, really,
like I said, just tried to make it easier for
golfers to get apparel. UM. The the pro shop world,

I guess you could say, was dying down, UM, the
brick and mortars UM. And so we started Short Part
four in two thousand and fourteen, and uh it's gone great.
Love the name. How did you come up with the name?
So interesting enough. I've actually owned the domain UM for
about almost ten years now. Um, I always knew I
(02:34):
wanted to do something in golf, and Short Part four
has every Short Part four involved has two options. You
can lay up or you can go for it. Um.
So I knew I wanted to start a business that
had two different options. I don't know, I didn't know
what it was gonna be, but it was gonna be
called Short Part four. Um. And when we initially launched
the business, there were the two different options where monthly

and quarterly. So the monthly box was kind of your
lay up, you know, it was forty five dollars a month,
and then the big gopher an all boxes two fifty
a quarter and you got styled for the whole quarter. Um.
So those are the two different options. Uh. And that's
how I came up with Short Part four. That's awesome.
So how has it changed now? So let's say, for example,

I wanna get started, is there a way you can
get started and kind of just dip your foot in
the water or and and that's kind of like the
beginners where the monthly and then can you still do
the quarter? Like how exactly does short Part four work?
So today we have on the men's side, we have
three different options. So we do have our you caught
(03:42):
our beginner box, UM and not necessarily beginner golfer box.
It's our you know, lowest price point. UM. It's fifty
dollars a month, UH, about a hundred and twenty five
dollars in retail value. UH. It can have anything from
polo shorts and a hat too, you know, shorts, belt,

socks in the gloves. UM. So starts off there. We
have four different styles. We offer athletic style, a traditional style,
a loud and wild style, and an all um an
all styles. So we start you off there in the
and what we call our fairway box, and then we
(04:25):
move up to our executive membership, which is a hundred
dollars a month. And the executive membership is stuff you
normally wouldn't see in the fairway box brand wise. UM.
You know, you look at some of the higher end
brands like Polo grainson UM, some of those where you know,
higher retail values. Obviously we can't get them down to

the same price point we can get some of the
other stuff. So, UH, that box is more about style
and really the higher end brands and and the more
executive experience. UM. And then Our other box on the
men's side is what is our Ricky Fowler Box. In
two thousand eighteen we brought Ricky Fowler on and we

now have strictly Ricky Fowler box. It's a hundred and
twenty five dollars a month and it's all of Ricky's
personal brands that he is sponsored by. So it's Cobra's Puma. UM.
Taylor made two under boxers. UM. Now he's got so
many of them now it's crazy. But you know it's
(05:32):
it's Quicken loans and uh Rocket Mortgage and all that.
So in that box you'll see really what Ricky wears
on tour. UM. And that's kind of why we call that,
UM the Ricky Foler Tour Experience. So you know, you
can get a polo that he'd wear, let's just say
it Torrey Pines the Farmers, and it'll have his logos

on it UM that he typically wears when he's scripted
into an outfit on the golf course. UM. So it's
really cool. I mean there's uh we we wanted to
make it, you know, affordable, but yet it is a
higher price point because you are getting product that you
can't get right at the two thousand eighteen US Open,

every member got a signed Shinnikock flag from Ricky, a
yardage book that was left there for Ricky Um that
the tour players all used. We got copies of that,
and then the actual yardage book holder that he used.
Everybody got one of those as well. So you know,
it wasn't apparel in that box. But at the end
(06:34):
of the day, you paid and you've got some exclusive
stuff that nobody else had access to. Wow, that's awesome.
So the quality of the boxes really what set it
aside for me. Like I had seen some other subscription
boxes and it tried them out and whatnot. And then
I met Kara. I know Kara what works for you?
She does, she does marketing for you guys. I met
Kara at a charity event here in the Jacksonville area

in St. Augustine and we had talked about short Part
four and I actually had a short part four glove
on and that's another thing I want to talk to
you about. Two um the gloves. The short part four
gloves I got from You probably know Brian Golf, Brian Laroche. Yes,
so Brian used to be a co host here on
the podcast. But was playing golf with him at TPC

Sawgrass one day and he gave me one of the
short Part four gloves, and the quality of the glove,
the way that it felt, the way that it lasted,
it stayed soft after multiple rounds. I really noticed the
quality of the glove was different than other higher end
gloves that costed way more money. I just felt like
the glove was a better quality glove. So I was

wearing it that day met Kara and she said, hey,
you should really try out the box. So I talked
to her about it, and I'll tell you the very
first box that was sent to me how a pair
of Travis Matthew shorts. They are now currently the favorite
shorts that I own. Every single once a week I'm
asking my wife, hey, did you wash my shorts? I
love the Travis Matthew shorts. They're they're comfortable, they look good,

they don't look like everyday golf short. You can wear
them casually, you can wear them to play golf. There
was a shirt in the box that was fabulous, another
glove and a short Part Part four hat that I
absolutely love as well. So a very quality experience in
the box. The packaging is great. Um, but the inside
of the box, what you're getting is not knockoff brands
that you've never heard of, and the style everything matched.

I also love that too, because you know how it
is you get a pair of shorts and it's difficult
to match a shirt to those shorts because the shorts
are a little wild. Everything in the box matches. It's
like an outfit boom, you were ready to go out
of the box. I really enjoyed the experience of the box,
and that's that's why I reached out to you guys
about having you on the podcast, because I like to

tell people about a quality experience that I've had when
I've tried other things. I really felt like the experience

in a belt. But the goal there is to tie
the two together. Um. And that's where you know, we

it's let's just say, take three boxes for instance, those

you know. And then when we do have the opportunity
to put an outfit in a box at the price points,
work and everything we do tend you know, we do
go for that, right. It's it's the style. Look, it's

sister says wow. Um, you know, so that's that's the
you know, on the style side. Um, you know, it's
really important to us. So you know, I really appreciate
the uh, the feedback there. Um, but I actually wanted

to take one step back real quick. I didn't get
a chance to mention the new women's subscription that we
launched last month, which is called the Magnolia Box. Um.
It's we signed Lexi Thompson who is now on board
with us as well. Um. She is basically the style
Caddie style curator for that box. Um, it's her. You know,

different styles that she wears on and off the golf course.
So it's more of an athletic at leisure type golf box.

other month. Uh so six boxes a year. Um. So
we we just launched it last month. Uh it went bananas.
It was. It was phenomenal. Um exceeded our expectations. She's

an un believable Brandon Bastor for us. She's awesome in
person and she's great on the golf course obviously. So um,
you know, we work very closely with her on the
styling of that magnolia box. That's awesome. So if you

things that our members want to do. They'll go and
get those right. Um. We are apparel and accessories, so glove, hats, balls, belts,
you know, those types of things. So the retail values there,
