Speaker 1 (00:04):

two point five dve. Our next guest is brought to
you by calli Ante Pizza in Draft House, the Pizza
of champions, Ladies and gentlemen from the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Derek Harmon first Raft raft Charts.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
How you do it? How you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
What's up?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Man?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Derek? I'm good man, I'm good. I I can play
shift well.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
I mean, I'm doing fantastic.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
And it's been fun watching you get acclimated this year,
uh with the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive line. So this weekend
you're going to be facing a Bengals team in which
the defensive line had a tough go of it against
Chase Brown and their running attack, and it was a
surprise to everybody, but it seemed to be the impetus
for you guys for the next couple of games to

(00:49):
write the rudder.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Would you say that that is an accurate assessment?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Most definitely, Most definitely. We know near the beginning and
a half of the season, like we in and like
our run defense, and we knew we had to change
some things quickly and just to get back on on
the road, where we're trying to go, and I feel
like we've done that and just to sure amount of games.
But this game is big because, like you said, he

(01:15):
had a game last game, and it's our job to
stop him from having one this one.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
So, Derek, if we talked to your training camp, if
you've broken anybody's hands sets that.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
I have, not, not you.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
I wanted to ask you about your approach.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
You were.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
You were really relaxed that you know you're a number
one pick. You come in a lot of a lot
of hype, a lot of spotlight. You just kind of
go about your business. You look completely unchanged just watching
your day to day. Uh is this all coming is
seemingly naturally for you as it looks?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yes? And no, man, because for me, of course, you
feel the pressure of being the first round again. No,
you got to go make plays. But I try not
to look to that, man. I try to just go
play my ball and just know what I can do.
That's the best that I can, man, Because once you
start worrying about outside of noises, start dying or so,
thinks can get bad out there. So as long as

(02:12):
I'm focused on just playing good ball and helping my team, win.
I'm good, Derek.

Speaker 5 (02:18):
We talked to your teammate Keanu Benton last week. He
said he tried Permanny Brothers wasn't for him. He said
he didn't even know Pittsburgh really had any good pizza.
He said his favorite restaurant was Chipotle. Please tell me
you've at least tried something kind of Pittsburgh, any pizza,
any food whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I have not, not yet. Man, the most closest day,
I had some beat ups the other day.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Derek, I'm gonna I'm driving a van over there and
just taking you guys to some places because I feel
like everyone's.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Somebody is we gott to bring it to you?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Yeah, Cam Hayward is dropping the ball like like to
not pass down the traditional places. Sad these guys need
to be eating is a dereliction of duty.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
We would enjoy it more than defensive life.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Exactly, Who's got the biggest appetite on the d line?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Is it you?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Probably it's between me and Black, Me and Black.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Oh, dude, he's proud of his belly. That guy is
my gosh.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Uh So the other thing you're you're Alma Mater's playing
tonight right The Duck's got Friday night football tonight.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I believe so, I think I've seen it.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Yes, sir, playing Minnesota. There's other Alma maters playing tomorrow. Well,
I don't know which Alma mater. Do you claim.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
More Oregon because I was with him over there, But
I don't do you wrong. Uh, Michigan State is still home.
But when somebody asked me, yeah, I went to Oregon
to play football and I went to school at Michigan State.
There you go.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I can live with that, Derek.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Thank you so Flacco again this week? And what have
you learned about Joe Flacco since he's faced him the
first time? And namely, well he's not a you know,
forty year old statue. This guy can hurt you.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Yeah. Man, he's a savvy event man, been doing this
since I was a kid. Man. But once again, he
gets that ball off quick like, very smart at the game,
knows the game inside and out. We got to get
him down, man, and in the back end has gotta
we go cover. And once they covered the defront, de
won gonna get you to get to the QB. Man.

(04:31):
So that's our biggest game planning focused Derek.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
You don't even have to get him down just I'm
sure you've seen by now. You get out there for
warm up and certain guys on the respective team say
hello at the fifty yard live maybe exchange.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Hug, just shake.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Yeah, and then when he drops to his knees walk away.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Game, Uh yeah, fuddy.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Derek Harmon with this from the Pittsburgh Steelers and back
home this weekend, And did you sense, you know, for
the indie game, there was this anticipation among Steeler fans
that it was a game that was going to be
a harbinger of things to come, like it was going
to indicate a direction for the season. And there was
kind of a vibe in that stadium, and there was

(05:24):
fans in the first quarter of that game that weren't
exactly thrilled. And then you guys turned it around and
stopped the most prolific offense in the league and get
out of Akroscher Stadium with a win against the Colts
this weekend. Since that game, there's been a little bit,
you know, with the backslide against.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
The Chargers, there's still some of that uncertainty.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
What do you expect the atmosphere to be like at
Akroscher Stadium on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
And since I've been hearing the fan has been real,
and they've been real since day one. Now they don't
come up support. We've got to go out there and
put on the show. Phone man out of that staying
what it does.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Derek Harmon from the Pittsburgh Steelers, brought to you by
Caliente Pizza and Draft House.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
We'll get you some Caliente Pizza. You can start there
and then.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
We'll bounce around Perfey all right, Derek Harmon, Ladies get
along Sunday Man.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Appreciate that.

Speaker 3 (06:17):

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
