that feeling? I mean, are you watching numbers like it's
a you're watching the stock market?
Speaker 5 (01:10):
I try not to.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I try not to because I like to be as
excited as like the first time I got ten thousand views,
and how hammered me and my buddies got when we
got their first ten thousand views.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Now, if it doesn't get like a million in a day,
I'm like, you wash.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Up, you suck, you know, like it's just not it's
not worth doing that myself, you know, because it's doing
well and it's for the people that care, you know,
and it's people are discovering every day. So I don't
want to hate on myself because it didn't hit some
milestone that I.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
But Teddy, we love, we love you, we love the art,
we love we love the music. And then there's the
business side. I wish we could just put up that
wall because they're all great at what they do with
graps and budgets and whatever, and thank God for them.
They they make you look good. They love you, and
you're making them very wealthy.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
Well we're gonna be very wealthy together, man, Generationally.

And he said, man, you crushed the jingle ball and
I was like, no way, and he said yeah. I
was sitting backstage. Robert de Niro was there, and I
was like, you got to listen to this guy's voice.
And I said, Jimmy, you told Robert de Niro check
out Teddy Swims.
Speaker 5 (02:20):
That is the coolest thing.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
So Robert de Niro and Jimmy Fallon just checking me
out back day. I was like, I can imagine that.
You see crazy crap every day, shout out New York Man.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
Yourself, those things, and this this my life.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Yeah, this is this is Thursday and I'm still talking
about it. Are you kidding me?
Speaker 4 (02:43):
It's Thursday? It's Monday. Well that was Thursday. Do you
know what day of the weekend is?
Speaker 5 (02:48):
All knows?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
We have a three day old cake and I'm ready
to eat.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Yeah, yeah, let's see, I'm ready.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Just talk about the album. Let's talk about the reason
they brought, the reason they brung you. Yes, I'm tried everything,
but Therapy Part two it's out. It came out Friday.
We've got a cake to prove it. Ay Man, Teddy Swims.
I want to play a song. What's a song that
hasn't been played on the radio at all? From this album?
I'm not really got to ask that.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
I know. Do you have a favorite? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Actually there's a song called it Ain't Easy. That's a
cute radio song. It's a cute radio so that one.
Or a song called not Your Man the first record.
That's a good record too. That's some good record.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Your pick one right now. Say I'm saying, say it
ain't easy.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Swims, Teddy Swims ain't easy.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
This is have an entire Dady with you, Teddy, an
entire day of Teddy Swims. What do you think?
Speaker 1 (03:51):
It's like a mini listening party. I love this.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
We're dragging this Teddy Swims interview out all day long.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
You're not going anywhere Teddy?
Speaker 2 (03:57):
All right more with Teddy Swims coming up, I'm gonna
play hooky Goodbye.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
How mister ran in the Morning show.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Freshen up your morning with Wendy's Breakfast like a breakfast
baconator or a grilled sausage breakfast burrito, or even a
honey buddy ready for a fresh wake up call. It's
got to be Wendy's at participating us.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Wendy's Teddy Swim, Not your.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Man more going? Should should we just do one for
like just three as of charm, isn't it? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Is there anything stopping us from making it a little
listening party on the air for people.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
I would love that. Telling you old Teddy all the
time idea, that's incredible.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
I'm tired of Teddy Swims. Pick another song from another artist.
I could, I could, definitely, I'm not doing that. This
is your time, this is your turn. You came to
our summer bash. It was outside at Hudson Yard, and
Gandi and I sat in the couch area and we
interviewed you.
Speaker 5 (04:52):
Oh, I was there too. I know you forgot, but
I was there.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
You're there too.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
You were all three of mister you know me don't
remember everything. Bitch in p and we're talking about schnauzers.
And I went to grab my phone to show you
my schnauzers, and my Instagram algorithm came up. It's all
guys with no shirts.
Speaker 5 (05:10):
Off right likes to me all the time.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
So Teddy goes just usually Benson Boone, it was usually shirtless.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
His chest.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
I think, I think my algorithms just got me pinned down.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
Man.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
I love me some Bens and Moon. I get you
mad at shirtless and Moon.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
So Teddy looks me. He says, hey, Elvis, crazy algorithm
you got going.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
There's like two guys done kissing each other.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
I'm like, oh god, I have no.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Idea where it happens. I can't wait to deep face
get good enough that I can make that me.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
And Bencon I want to. I think he was wearing
a shirt with your name. Yeah, he was.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Man back flips on the red carpet with a Teddy
Swims t shirt on crop sleeves.
Speaker 5 (05:57):
By the way too. I was like, but fine, because.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Oh my god, can I say, I say, fine, piece
of ascid anytime you want? So, you and Benson Boone
and Abrams Uh, the three of you alone made this
year's jingle ball.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
My god, it's my favorite jingle all of all time.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
That she had the way that she had that crowded
a freaking headlock. Those kids were just the songs with
an acoustic guitar and good lyrics. It's just like it
still works, you know it does. You could dress the
song up anyway. What a damn good song is a
damn good song and it still works.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
What a weekend we spent with your album. Of course,
I've tried everything but therapy Part two, Teddy Swims. It's
been out since Friday, and if you haven't listened to it, then.
Speaker 4 (06:50):
Where have you been?
Speaker 5 (06:50):
What do you do? What's your problem? You gotta listen
to this.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Give me another song. I'm gonna play another song. Actually,
I can do bad dreams. Let's play something that.
Speaker 5 (06:59):
You Knowlet's get another what's your favorite Mike.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
Guilty?
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yeah, guilty, due, that's it's that's like the focus track
I'm eating.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Okay, you're going to play the whole album. Guilty, Guilty, Guilty,
Teddy Swims.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
I see.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
By the way, can we talk about Uh, you're performing
at the Grammys? Is this true?
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Of yeah, it's happening.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
All right, we need a cake. This is congratulations.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
You're singing at the Grammys Friday. What is it when
you get that call that you've been nominated for a Grammy?
Speaker 5 (07:31):
It was cool?
Speaker 4 (07:32):
No, no, no, tell me where you were.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
I was in Spain, in Barcelona. We were doing the
Los Cordenta Awards. It was such a beautiful day in
my life. I think it might have been my favorite
day other than tomorrow, of course, and and I like that, yeah,
but it was my favorite day.
Speaker 5 (07:53):
So we just like watched the stream we we got in.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
I was getting my head shaved and get my makeup
done for let's go into awards.
Speaker 5 (08:02):
And I don't always wear makeup, by the way, I
just want to throw that out there, and just for.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
War shows, I need to believe you always have Yeah,
I do idea like, okay make up.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
I wear little panties too.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Okay, little jewelry. Can we talk? You gave your jewelry
away at every jingle ball because.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
I was crazy. Kids they take everything off of it.
You can't give it to you just kept giving them.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
Did you did you rob a zails at the mall?
Would you know?
Speaker 5 (08:28):
See?
Speaker 3 (08:28):
So now now what I've been doing though lately is
I I I get I buy like thousands of glasses
on like at seat that are cheap glasses because if
you got a kid in the crowd and I I
just remember my first time being in a show and
like seeing an artist and it like setting me on fire.
It was two thousand and seven tour and I watched
I watched, I watched Kohet and Camria like they he
(08:51):
did Claudio Sanchez stage dove and I like felt his
curly hair.
Speaker 5 (08:55):
And it was like that Suells like strawberries, Oh my god.
And I was on fire too. I was on fire
to sing for the rest of my life.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
And so now when I like go on stage and
I see kid in the front road that's there and
love like seven, nine years, ten years old, I'm always
gonna hand out my glasses or my earring or something
because that that will be like something that might light
the next kid on fire. Who's sitting in this room
saying my first concert was Teddy Swims and and it's
Michael Jackson we're talking to, you know, and He's like,
(09:22):
I have saw Teddy Swims when I was nine years
old and changed my life forever.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
So I stopped.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
Buying expensive sunglasses because I'd like be heading. I'd be
handing guccies out to these little kids, oh Dawn, and
I'd be like, why do I do that? I mean,
I guess, I guess like the five hundred bucks like
doesn't matter as much as what that moment will mean
to that kid.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
But also ten dollars glasses also mean as much. It's
just me for jewelry, you know.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
So I'm wearing nothing, but that turns my stuff green,
you know what I mean? That's that's all they're getting
off of me. Now I'm not I'm not giving that
kid my David Yurman ring.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
That's what.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Good idea. I'm like, you have a room.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I just paid for fifteen tickets just by giving him
the ring, you know what I mean. The crowd went
wild when he whipped out the Prince Albert ring. Gracious,
good God.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Have you no shame? This is what this is from.
That's just how I'm hanging. That's kind of pain right off,
my John brother. That's kind of hurt a little bit
at the beginning.
Speaker 5 (10:28):
So hey, look you should see you should see the
other guy.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
And everybody. Now he's the man, what a nice guy?
Are you having fun? I'll have a blast, man, No.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Really, I mean, okay, I'll take here.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
Yes, it's a fun time.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Man.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
I'm doing the best job in the world my best friends.
How could I not? Man, it's such a blast.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Has there been a moment that you've been tried? You're like, okay,
this is this song, of.
Speaker 5 (10:53):
Course, here's here's my thing. We've been doing this thing.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
When we tried doing our in our camp saying every
day it's a good day to be us, I learned
from my dear friend Allen Stone. It's a good day
to be us. And also reprioritizing gratefulness is what I
call it. We had a great night and through the weekend,
I had a great night, and and then you know,
getting up at six thirty this morning was yeah. I mean,
(11:18):
I thought when I was doing this job, I was
going to be like able to be just a child
and a degenerate forever, you know, and then it turns
out you can't get away from being an adult, and
that sucks. But some days, some days I'm like, man,
this sucks. But also I reprioritize gratefulness, where I'm like, man,
I'm doing the best job in the world of my
best friends, it's not that bad. Get over yourself, what
are you complaining about? And so I learned how to
(11:41):
like tell myself, man, have fun. This is fun. You
love this. And then also there are some days you
just want to be upset, and you also got to
give yourself the space to do that too.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
Some days I just want to walk around and be like,
no shit.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
And then some days you got to be a baby,
you know, if you want to, and that's what you need.
You got to do that too, and so learning how
to prioritize gratefulness when it feels like a job, but
also learning how to be upset.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
If you need to be.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Upset, lean into whatever and be honest with yourself and
then be that.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Listen to yourself. You know, if you want to be upset,
you need a day to be. You need a day
to just slave in your bed and cry if you
need it. It seems like every time I hear you
say anything, I learned something and I appreciate that. And
people are driving to work right now going damn man,
he's right. I'm turning around right now going home and
laying in my bed and crying.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Tips on throwing the tantrum, I said, if you ever
need tips on getting throwing the tantrum all the.
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Time, don't that was that was like a real w W.
She's going up. Donty flames through the table, you will
throw that chair.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
No, but you're talking about.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
The fog splash on the top roll.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
But look at me now, I have to stand the
styles clash.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
So you were talking about when you were a kid
you were set on fire, not literally, but Coheed and Camria.
As an adult, what sets you on fire?
Speaker 5 (13:13):
Uh, man, better be a daddy man.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Oh man, that beautiful, beautiful woman. Man, it sets me
on fire. Was great on a beach.
Speaker 5 (13:22):
Yeah, we were in Mali.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
We just went and had our little vacation in Mali
and had such a blast and connected. Also the whole
time we've been together too, I've been working all the
time too, so we hadn't really had like a week
of like just really being together. Usually like she's seeing
me on tour or on tour with me, playing on
tour with me, and we haven't really our whole relationship
ever had like a week just together, you know, which
(13:45):
is quite strange.
Speaker 5 (13:45):
Like I mean, it was so relaxing and so wonderful.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
We connected, But those those things that were coming up
that I was like, dang, I didn't even know how
much I've been working and how these things were coming
up as problems. And I was like, man, I got
a really lock in with my little baby. You know
what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I know, but you're you're going to roll into Germany
but in February to kick off that tour, so doing
June too, and so are.
Speaker 4 (14:09):
We all going?
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Is the whole family going together? Well?
Speaker 3 (14:11):
I mean, of course, like we're trying to like buying
a place and look at places, buy and set up
shop so we can have that baby.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
In June, you know, and I'll be picked out. We're
thinking of a couple.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Don't tell anyone, No, don't because everyone has an opinion.
You're not going to name your kid that don't share.
Speaker 5 (14:29):
So we know the six too.
Speaker 3 (14:32):
But I don't think I'm allowed to say because she's
she wants to make it like you know, I think
I'll just I won't say names because then you'll be
clear what it is and then she'll be like, just.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Whisper it to me.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
No, don't tell her anything.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Did you have a gender reveal party with your family?
Like that's the thing to do. Well.
Speaker 3 (14:50):
We was actually at a jingle ball, believe it or not.
She came to meet me. I think it was. I
can't remember what city were in, but it was at
a jingle ball. She came to meet me and we
just did it with the crew backstage.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
You know. I gotta tell my sweet Mega train or
two and Daryl.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
Like say it, say it, don't say it. I will
say his phone case is pink.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
I just say that's that's I guess.
Speaker 4 (15:15):
Is that salmon, salmon.
Speaker 5 (15:19):
Because of that, all right.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
I got I'm gonna play Bad Dreams.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
You know, we're celebrating an entire weekend of Teddy Swims
in bad Dreams.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
Thank you for coming in here you always.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
We don't even need lights because you are the light
and you really make us feel great. And and I
love how you're always honest with yourself about where you are,
what you're feeling.
Speaker 5 (15:46):
Got to be, that's all you owe it to yourself
and everybody around you.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
And thanks again for jingle Ball.
Speaker 5 (15:52):
That was thank you. I can't wait till this year.
You know, are you coming back? I like, I like
to think so I love that.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Wait, we do have the Vincent and not me. I'm
gonna be I'll tell you what. He's not here at
eight thirty this morning. So yeah, And again, the Grammys
are waiting for you for my songs.
Speaker 5 (16:15):
I hope I get the invite.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
You know, it's the least we can do, right the Grammys.
Let's not forget to show up to that. And congratulations
on everything, and thanks for giving in Teddy Swims.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
Okay,
