Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran inthe Morning Show. You know what,
last week we had the best day. We flew down to Memphis and went
to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital.God, that's the second time I've been
there. I went like eleven yearsago, and the place is just amazing.
I mean it's overwhelmingly fantastic, right, I mean I was with Danielle

(00:24):
and Nate. You know, oneof my favorite people from Saint Jude.
Can we get can we get JessicaTurrey on the phone? Is she wround?
Yeah? All right, My god, that was fast. That's so
funny. I said, can youget me Jessica Turrey from Saint Jude?
And she's there. That's this ishow, this is how amazing Saint Jude

(00:46):
truly is. She's always on hold. She's always on hold. Can we
tell you, first of all,the first time we met you is when
you came to New York and wehad a big meeting with you and other
Saint Jude Saint Juter's I don't know, uh. And then when we saw
you last week, you're the besthost and you're just if you want to
know anything about Saint Jude, Jessicaknows it, and if she doesn't,

(01:07):
she's very convincing. She'll make itup. Yeah. Anyway, you know,
we've been talking a lot about aboutgetting our listeners to join us in
becoming partners in hope with Saint Jude, because I'm not gonna be happy till
everyone has this shirt, Saves Livest shirt. Thank you for being on
with us today. Can we talkabout Saint Jude for a few minutes,

(01:29):
of course, thanks for having us. Happy Monday, everybody, and happy
belated Mother's Day. Let's talk aboutthat. You're you're a mom of course,
thanks to a really good friend whoactors as had acted as a surrogate
because our friend Jessica actually was apatient at Saint Jude at one point,
and because you went through with yourcancer you needed some help with a great

(01:51):
friend to have a child. Happybelated Mother's Day to you too, Thank
you so much. Yeah, talkingto a Saint you family about twenty years
now. Had a cute little plasticleukemia that's the most common form of childhood
teacher when I was nine years old, so I went through two and a
half years a chemo at say Tutand super blessed to be in remission.

(02:15):
But like you said, later inlife, it's common to have some side
effects and and for me, youknow, it's nothing compared to a lot
of the friends who went through itwith me. So I'm super thankful for
all that I have. And oneof those amazing blessings was my best friend
from middle school. Yeah, shecalled me one day and said, every

(02:38):
time I'm still here, a voicetelling me I'm to your baby. I
was not able to do that, and she said it there any way I
could do that for you. I'vealready talked to my husband and I would
love to be your circuit. Sowe have a two year old, a
crazy little toddler. Wow, wellguess what I got. I get news.
I got good news for you,Jessica. I am in line to

(03:00):
be your next shirt fantastic. Ialways wanted to carry a baby, so
I've always wanted I always wanted apush gift, if you know what I'm
saying. Hey, so okay, let's talk about Saint Jude. I know
that you know we're asking our listenersto to uh do do a monthly a
monthly contribution. If you sign upto do a monthly contribution. You can

(03:22):
get this incredible this shirt Saves Livest shirt And all you gotta do is
text the word Elvis and you knowhow to spell it. I'm not going
to spell it for you. Textthe word Elvis to sixty two sixty two
sixty two, and Saint Jude atthat point will have a digital conversation with
you about how you want to contributeand what you can do and how to
do it. It's so easy.So you know I want you to because

(03:46):
you do this professionally, I wantyou to say the magic words. They're
gonna make the most people sign upvia text right now. So go,
You're on Jessica, You're on Massy. I don't think people really understand what
they're doing when they're giving that monthlynineteen dollars a month, So that really
becomes transfusions and chemotherapies and antibiotics forthese kids and their families who are fighting

(04:12):
cancer. And that means that, say, Jude, We've got kids from
all fifty states and all around theworld, because think Jude is global,
and that's only possible because of ourdonors, and so these families never receive
the bill, and that's not fortreatment, and that's travel, housing,
food, it's all taken care ofand the only thing they have to think

(04:32):
about is getting their child well. And that's because of people like you who
raise their hands and said we willbe there for you wor to help join
the things you family and allow youto just focus on getting your child well
very well. Put see that that'swhy. And you know, going back

(04:54):
to what Jessica said before about howlike, you know, she went through
chemo as a child and she hassome side effects now. She was telling
us when we were there that that'salso what they're doing research on, like
so that what she what caused sideeffects for her, Maybe they can figure
it out and it won't cause sideeffects for someone else in the future.
Yeah. So I'm going this thingcalled the Saint You'd Life Study with thousands

(05:16):
of other former patients and they're studyingwhat happened to us later in life.
So they taken alter the current treatmentsfor patients who are there now, so
hopefully down the line they won't havethese side effects. So it's not just
curing cancer, but it's about thatquality of life later down the line.
Wow, you know, there's noway to even make a master list of

(05:36):
all of the millions of millions ofthings that Saint Jude does. Uh,
it's more than just curing cancer.I mean, it's also, as Jessica
saying, it's being a partner witheveryone they've cured or they and they've worked
with through the rest of their lives, because it's not just about getting rid
of cancer, it's about living therest of your life as well. And
the families, like she said, never pay a bill ever. And another

(05:59):
thing, I'm thinking, if Iwas a kid who had to go for
treatment or a parent of a kidthat had to go for treatment, Saint
Jude has done everything to eliminate thatfright concept because if you think about it,
it's cancer. It's a frightening, frightening thing. But when you visit
Saint Jude, you're like, Okay, if I'm if my child does get

(06:25):
cancer, this is the place. It's so fantastic. They take such good
care of not only the kids, but their parents, the families. There's
so many moving parts. So SaintJude Children's Research Hospital our friand Jessica Turrey
is here to tell you right now, if you sign up right now and
do a monthly a monthly give youcan you can be what twenty bucks?
I mean? I don't even knowhow much a month? Can I It's

(06:46):

twenty It's actually nineteen dollars a month. And you get this shirt Saves Lives
t shirt. Do it now?Just text the word Elvis to sixty two
sixty two sixty two. Jessica. We love having you as a friend,

(07:06):
and I can't wait it's your turnto come to New York. We can't
wait to see you again. Okay, Oh, I can't wait to be
there. Hey, thank you allso much for all you're doing for Saint
Jude and your listeners too. Weare so so thankful to have you in
the same Jude family, and weappreciate you starting Monday. Thanks much for
