Speaker 1 (00:01):
Today's Daily Highlight from Elvis Duran in the Morning show.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
You know, Gandhi and I have our Medium apps on
our phones because we love reading short essays by people
that have brains and insight and a philosophy to share.
Today's I read was about personal growth that bad habits
every man should stop immediately. I think women can stop
(00:26):
some of these two. Number one personal bad hygiene. Oh yeah,
it impacts your career, relationship, social life. No one wants
to be near someone who smells or looks unclean.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
No, it's bad for your actual health too. If you
don't take care of your teeth and stuff.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Wash, brush, shave, flos. See I go days without shaving.
I guess I don't care another thing you have bad
habit every man should stop, according to this article, not
keeping your space clean, I mean a messy house a
car can like harm your mental well being and make
a there's uncomfortable. I know if I'm going through a
(01:02):
down in life. As we go through ups and downs,
I typically look around my house and it's cluttered. Yes, absolutely,
And I don't know if the clutter causes it, or
me being down causes the lack of picking up from clutter.
Only both ways. Uh, neglecting your mental health. Why this
is bad. It harms not only you, but also your
loved ones. The stigma around seeking help can prevent addressing
(01:24):
the issue as well. Never ever, ever, ever hesitated asking someone, Hey,
help me out with something? Okay, Wasting time on your
phone hmmc.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Scary set those limits.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I mean, look, you know, I don't know. When I
go on my phone, I tend to fall down into
these holes where I'm looking at cats doing push ups
and pizza making. Sometimes I think, well, how does this
hurtful for me?
Speaker 3 (01:53):
There are ways I think that it's still hurtful. I mean,
I know it's enjoyable and that's great, but one screen
time is not good for your eyes in general, so
that's not great. And not moving, not getting out and
living your life and doing things.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
You know, and taking me away from things I could
be doing, like hanging, socializing and family time, cleaning up
your house right, bad, eating habits good? God, damn it.
I know, I'm.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
A We're all this whole room right.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
No exercise routine. You gotta move, get up and move.
I've been I've been exercising more. I feel better. Good
for men, This is a good one. Habits every man
should stop immediately stop disrespecting women. Yeah, buddy, the arrogance,
the outdated behavior harm personal and professional relationships. Treat women
with respect while listening understanding their perspective. Don't don't woman's plain.
(02:41):
Didn't explain to me the other day? What was that?
What was Oh, you're you're a black girls plaining to me?
I'm a black girl. I know what about? Seriously, black
girls plain me?
Speaker 3 (02:58):
Don't you do that?
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Also? Lacking ambition, yeah, you got you gotta have a drive,
you gotta have a dream. If you wake up one
day like I have many days, I'll admit I'm like,
I don't even know what the purpose is here? What
am I doing? Well? You need ambition. Ambition is a
good thing, and being financially are financially irresponsible is awful.
I you know, I have just several friends in this
(03:20):
boat who have just they totally don't watch what they're spending.
They don't think about what they're gonna need that money
for later down the road, and therefore they're out of money. Yeah,
so these are these old silly habits. What else? What
else are we neglecting in our lives that we should
be doing more of sleeping.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah, oh my god, we were just talking about that.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yeah, without doubt. What were you saying?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Oh about the sleep. We were all saying that even
if you look at charts of somebody who gets eight
hours of sleep a night versus somebody who gets six,
which is probably all of us on a good night,
six hours of sleep, the effect that it has on
your body and your brain is insane, just those two hours.
When you take it down even lower, which I think
a lot of us also do, it's terrible. Sleep is
so important and people look at it as this horrible
(04:05):
thing that you're wasting time doing. No, your body needs it.
You have to have sleep. Don't be better.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Think about how you feel when we are on vacation,
you know, for a little while and you get to
sleep in like I you start to feel like human,
Like you'd be like, oh, this is how it I
feel to think clearly and to you know, what I'm
doing a game changer. It's kind of crazy.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
Eating better and you're getting out and walking, which you do, Yeah,
every day. We got to have Matthew Walker on he
wrote walking, He wrote Why We Sleep, And I'm listening
to that book now and audible.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
And I am horrified all of us here in this room.
We're all going to get dementia in the next ten years.
We're going to get it. I've got it.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
It sucks the point you do too, That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
I think I do too sometimes and you're demented.
Speaker 4 (04:53):
I don't even know what we're talking about. That's how
much dementsia I have. But no, we are seriously developing
that because we are not sleeping.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
That's why when.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
People complain that we take too many vacations, I say, guys,
you got to realize that we have to sleep sometimes.
Like it's like not.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Good micro habits. This is a different one. I've been
reading a lot. Okay, never do this before you go
to bed. Do you know what this is? No? Watch,
never leave a dirty kitchen.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Why did that yesterday? I cleaned up my kitchen yesterday
because I was like, Hm, I'm not gonna.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Wake up to don't wake up to a dirty kitchen.
And when you get up, make that bed. It's the
first it's the first thing you do. Absolutely, what's scary.
It's so funny. I was gonna say, eat Mexican food please.
Last night. That was a great train, rolling into the
station or out of the station.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Gandhi's Revenge.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Oh okay, no, I'm not ready to take a break. Sorry,
I've got to mention it. I had one thing. What
you said? What else?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Do we need to be focusing on what? I think
we should all be focusing on joy germs, on the
things that make us happy and enjoying it a little
bit more. You know, we are so quick to spread
the negative news and talk about all the bad things
that are happening. And they're playing about things happening. I
get that, But right, find the happy thing, spread the happiness,
find your own happy thing and enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Speaking of that, what's that book you're reading over there?
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:08):
Good people, look at this.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
It's called Stories from the Best of Humanity. From our
friends that upworthy. They always post really good, uplifting stories,
and this is a compilation of the best stuff, just heartwarming,
joy filled.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
Amazing stuff, catching people doing something right. All right, Always
clean your kitchen. Park your car one thousand yards away
from the door. Oh yeah, I never park up front.
I never do that trolling for a place up front.
I always park in the back of the lot. I can.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
I have no patience to drive around a parking lot forever.
I'm like, wherever I go, I'll go all the way
in the back. I don't care. I'd rather walk no way.
Hate it.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
There you go. Flossing your teeth just takes a minute. Yeah,
a minute or two. Just flosh your teeth.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
I'm like a drug dealer with my flas sticks. Every
time someone's done eating, I'm like, hey, you want a
flow stick? I got a flas stick.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
You want to offer them to me? Because I do not
floss enough. I ask our.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Okay, I'm gonna ask him, would you like a flow sick?
It's in my backpack right now.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I'll take one. Okay, we're gonna floss hair together.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
And how often are you supposed to wash your hair?
Because I was just talking abby about this. I can't
remember when I washed my hair last because I've been
waiting to get a trim and I'm not going till
next week. And I feel like I didn't care, so
I just was wearing it up and stuff and I
don't I mean, is there do you.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Have to wash it? Right? When I went platinum blonde, yeah,
I didn't wash my hair. I would I go three
or four or five days without washing it because they
don't want you to message.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
This has been at least a week.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
No, but I got into the habit. Now I will
go two or three days without washing it. Yeah, I
don't know. I think, what the hell are you guys do?
Then again, my hair is all falling out. So why
are you just throwing stuff at each other? He wanted
to Are we gonna floss in this room together? It's
gonna smell like No, but we.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
All always ask for sticks.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Give me your teeth, give me a disco stick. We
got to take a break. No, but I have dementia.
We're so late. We're early for tomorrow. Look at that
planning ahead. Thank you for this day. He didn't even
close the bag.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Oh my god, Look what they're.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
All over the fild. You can use those. This is
a clean for Okay, we got to take a break.
