Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mutter two are on very big winning ways and they've
got a big match in Nelson. They are up against
the Blues and joining us here. Really nice to have
her back on the airwaves. Amy Rule, good morning morning.
How you going really well? Thanks of course with those
who don't know, Black Fern, Muter two Canterbury tight head
prop and all I can say is I've really thoroughly

(00:23):
enjoyed the two games that you have played so far,
beating Chiefs, Manoa, Hurricanes Power now you've got the Blues.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Yeah, we definitely have started off the campaign. Well, the
girls are looking really exciting and there's some sharps that
are getting played. But yeah, coming up against the Blues
may played quite some create things out of nothing, so
it can be quite exciting forting to come up again
when you.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Think about last year's campaign and it seemed like you
guys got better as you went along, but it's such
a short competition or picky and there's no time to
play catch up. But this year you have started with
a Hessena row.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Right, You've now that last year that was a big
downfall for us. Yeah, we were too slow to get
to like the swing of things and yeah, you just
can't afford that. So I think we learned from last
year that we've got to be ready to go with
Ahasana War from round one because every game is actually
really important to we stand at the end of the table.
So yeah, we've definitely turned that around and stunning off

(01:20):
wild this season.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
What's been the switch? Do you think?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
That's a good question. I think, in a way face
understanding that's the requirement, Like it's just the type of
campaign it is. It is a six week six weeks
of games, I mean, so you've got to be on
top of it. I think it's prioritizing what we want
to get after and then being just world class in
that space.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Well, the connection certainly between the backs and the forward
seems to be extremely good. You've got pretty much the
same team maybe except for a couple running out against
the Blues, and that has to be a key part
that you've got consistency of selection.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Yeah, I think we've definitely had a lot of retention
in our squad, but also were quite a young squad.
I think that's actually really helped us and sense of
we're just really hungry getting out for it and we're
just really open to new ideas sushally when we've got
coaches like Winnie Hansen who is quite innovative and what
she brings to the table, sosh with her how she

(02:14):
approaches the game. But also we've had such cool young
guns come in like Handy Kane and her connecttion to
with Mai Joseph and that game driving peace. And then
Grace Brook is an absolute legend in that backfield. And
then our four well, our four packs always been quite
strong and competitive, like majority of us, they're all in
the Black Friends squad or on the brink of it,
so that does half as well.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah, absolutely, do you ever play louse head or you
always tight head? Prop?

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Technically a couple of years ago when I played for
a Tigo had awe jam LuSE head, but as soon
as I moved to christ Church it was I don't
want to be world's best at tight head, so I'm
putting all my focus into that.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well fair enough, absolutely, And so what are the different
skill seats for either?

Speaker 2 (02:53):
And well, we've tight hair mainly in the scrums. Tight
head you're trying to lock it down, you're the anger
of the scrum, whereas lucy heads trying to disrupt there.
So we have like the opposite role in that sense,
and then yeah, it's pretty similar everywhere else.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
So the lure up the end of the competition is
that this year twenty twenty five, the fourth year of
or Pecky is the winner gets to play the winner
of the Australian Women's Camp.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, the Super w comp Yeah, so that's really exciting.
I think it's a cool opportunity to transition or the
potential to see the comps combining for a bigger competition,
and I've got a personal excitement about it. To get
that a hope, well, I say hopefully when we get
the opportunity to go back back Massa two to go

(03:41):
all the way. But I played over for Brumbies a
couple of years ago, so I do have a good
connection with some of those girls over in Australia, so
it'll be cool to go up against them going over
the real fortune in New Zealand with the support and
the people behind the scenes. And I'm definitely down in
Master two, like we've got amazing management that work beyond

(04:04):
for us to create the best environment and any of
the Brumbies they're incredible and it's incredible team, incredible girls,
they just weren't quite supported resourcefully. But I definitely think
it is getting more and more better. I think socially
heading into a World Cup like the girls needed support
to perform basically. So yeah, I think it's just one

(04:25):
of those things that take time. As long as it's
getting better and better, that's the main thing.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Oh. Absolutely, And I guess you know, from their point
of view, it would be great if this was expanded
into like what the guys have got the super rugby
and you're playing against each other all the time, that
would be ideal.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, one hundred percent. I think you can train all
you want, you can't be the real deal of playing
actual Foodoo and Ami, how have.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
You enjoyed the feedback on your Zinger air commercial.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yeah? Yeah, I've had a lot of a lot of morale,
a lot of support. People have questioned my acting or
also they've talked about indocoreer could be a flight attendant.
So it simply opened up some options. I didn't quite
realize how much it was going to be out and about,
but it's so. I guess all exposure is good exposure,
isn't it.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Have you had a Zinger burger yourself?

Speaker 2 (05:16):
My political answer will say coaches no, but yeah, I
definitely had a couple beer in here. Good card loading.
