Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yeah, it's it's been going all right. I'd be lying
if I said I wasn't a little bit slack.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Are you a kramer? I'm a bit of a grammar
You know what helps her?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
There?

Speaker 1 (00:29):
I read this yesterday. Dark chocolate. Apparently it's the flavonoids
and dark chocolate that helps with the short term memory,
pushing stuff to the long term right, and the processing
of knowledge. So there you go. When you're sitting in
the because that's what I used to do as well,
sitting in the corridor before the exam, you've still got
all the text books and you've frantically flicking through your nose,
be smashing that chocolate. Bro right, Well, mamma, if you're listening,

(00:52):
supplies please right, let's pass the mic to Isabell Wang. Hello. Hello, So,
outside of all the exam excitement, you've been kicking some
goals in the world of performing arts over label weekends.
You were up in Palmerston, North of all places. What
was this?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
So that was for the National Young Performer Awards run
by pac Hands, and yeah it was really great. I
entered into the musical theater category and the speech and
Drama category, and for musical theater I made it to
the semi finals, and then for speaking drama I got
third place overall out of how many out of I

(01:30):
think there were twenty four from around the country for
that one.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
And this is like the beast of the best, Yes,
the real stars. Yeah, well you've been a star on
the rise for a while now, so that's rather exciting.
Do you take drama as the subject?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yes, for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Is it still an exam?

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yep, got one today this afternoon.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Yes, oh good luck. Wow, so you must be stoved.
And then somebody else that we've got in studio here
as well is a seema good morning to you, Good morning,
and this is a radio debut I understand or congratulations.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
So from the big stage to the big field. You're
a league players, I understand, and tell us about which
team do you play for?

Speaker 4 (02:13):
So first I started at Hornby and after the season finished,
we had a child game Childcavery.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
That's the balls.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
Yeah yeah, And after like five weeks of training, the
head down to to have a tournament and so we
faced off like teams from around the South Island, like
a Targo, West Coast, Yeah, Nelson and Araka. And after
that there would be a tournament tip and I got

(02:43):
selected for it.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Is there something that's organized by the Warriors up the
wars Oh my gosh. And with all that, so you
were unbeaten through that tournament, is that right?

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (02:54):
And then through that there's like talent scouts from the
Warriors that keep an eye out to offer some extra opportunities. Yes,
So has anything come from there?

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Yeah? So I recently just played under fifteen Warriors tournament.
Ah again last week on Saturday against there is another
competition called pac so we first had a team from there. Yeah,
that's all.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Wow, what a cool opportunity. What position do you play?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
I play wing?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I see you're pretty quick.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Right on?

Speaker 1 (03:29):
Nay. Is there anything else that's lined up from all this?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
No, just have some I think we have like trainings
with some coaches from the Warriors, and that's just it.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Wow. How cool to have your name on the radar
that way, watch this space and on the sport front
super super quick. Back to yourself here soon to be
his student tonight. Congratulations to you as I understand that
the Oraki Sport Towards were held recently and you were
named tops Sportsman of the Year. I was, yes, congratulations,

(04:02):
So what's this for?

Speaker 3 (04:04):
So I am really involved with small ball rifle shooting
on the.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Front page of the Courier about six months ago, Yes, yeah,
it was.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Yeah, there was also for a small boar. Yeah, it's
been gone. Well, it's went really really well this season
and I've managed to make for New Zealand teams, which
is really awesome.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Yeah, So what's that mean?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
So I went to loads of competitions that got me
a ranking for the entire South Island and then I
made the South Island teams and then I went to
a competition in Nelson where I shot reasonably well on
the day it made some teams for New Zealand.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Do you travel with your own rifle?

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Is that logistically challenging?

Speaker 3 (04:45):
It is slightly yes, yeah yeah, but we managed just fine.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, I bet there's got whe's the skill in small
ball rifle shooting, the ability to keep so still.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah, yeah, it's pretty tough. It's a big mental challenge
because of course, if you don't shoot the shot right,
then that's your entire car gone.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
So wow, congratulations to you mate. Look at all these
goals that are being kicked by the high achievers at
Ashputin College. Really appreciate you coming on by a team
and sharing in the achievements.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
