stace A, Zorah and Charlie.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
On today's podcast, we'll take you through what went down
at the MTV Video Music Awards and I call.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
A Zora out Bra who've been hanging around with.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
Man No again?
Speaker 5 (00:16):
And why to Anthems. We have interviews and insights and
also we speak to David dallas All on the podcast in.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Everybody Your States and Sally, good morning, Happy Fridays.
Speaker 6 (00:31):
Well, guys, we're giving away that double pass that.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Day or mates for David Nika and Tommy Capince's fight
this week and that it'll be very very vip, very
demure go down tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (00:43):
Good to save your money because you might need your
money eventually to do what's just been done a space walk.
So the first private space walk has happened. So if
you have enough money, if you're a billionaire like these
people are, then you can go and do this. It's
on Polaris daw and so they went up and they
go for a well they've actually up for a couple
(01:04):
of days, so of course you think immediately what are
they gonna eat?
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Well, first of all, they can have fresh food.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
They have pizzas and sandwiches and eppinadas, and then when
they run out of that, they have to go onto
what Charlie eats, which is like protein bars and stuff
like that.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
So it's so crazy to me that you could have
that much money and be that bored that you think
I'm going to go into space.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
That's not rich people do. Man.
Speaker 6 (01:30):
The submarine thing is that you can do these things.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
You don't have to do them because you're not They're
not going to be trained astronauts.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
See, they're still up there, Yeah, just driving it around.
So Jared Isaacman, Sarah Gillis they left the spacecraft doing
the walk, and then their crewmates, I guess they're the
guys who know what they're doing, Scott and Anna and
they made history. And then two days time they come
back to splashing down in Florida or Gulf of Mexico. Okay,
well but I don't know that all just seems like
(01:58):
around about there, you know, it's not let you go.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
I know, I'm lameing at the airport at five forty five. Yeah,
I didn't think about that. I don't know if I
could do it? Could you stalk?
Speaker 7 (02:08):
Nah nah Man? I don't even have that type of
money to even start with.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Man, But these people have like one point nine billion
dollars forty one. He is the guy who bankrolled the
Polaris Dawn mission.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
The mission commander.
Speaker 7 (02:20):
Oh oh, that's why it's interested all the way up
the space just to eat pizza and protein.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Bas Come, where's the caveat Darling?
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Where's the caviar?
Speaker 7 (02:31):
And you know what, man, Every time I go to
my parents' house, I'm unlocking memories, right my dad, My
mom and dad they have this scene. They're retired now,
so they probably just go through one of those chest
boxes and go through all the old.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Photos and things like that.
Speaker 7 (02:45):
So my dad, I don't know, we are out of
the blue, decided to frame an old family photo.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
This is so old.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
They do this, by the way, like my name does this.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Every time I go over these different photo it's like
something to do, you know, they change out the old.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
It's just thing you a lot.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
So then yeah, I was like, oh this is a
cool photo.
Speaker 7 (03:04):
I was like I was stolen like kindergarten if anything,
and I was wearing this, like this army uniform and
I'm sitting on my I'm sitting on my mom and
dad's lap, and I go, I remember when this was
sort of taken because I just remember seeing my siblings
in their Sunday best you know, like, bro, we're in
church clothes at a school photo. So this school photo
(03:26):
was my brother Rob and my sister Juliet Clyde Moore Primary,
just when Clyde More Primary was still then. But tell
me why we go to the school photos and take
our family photo.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Broken We all just to do that.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
It's I've never put any thought into why. I still
don't know why.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
I doesn't know what happened to get to like free
or cheap photo shoot, But why don't they do that anymore?
Because you got your blooming phones everywhere. I think that's why.
And the thing is when they take the school photos
and they're still expensive, you go, oh, this is so expensive,
and you look at my gosh, it's so cute.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
I need it.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Yeah, made the same thing happened when I went to Tikahongo.
It was my first first year at school, and I
remember very vividly my brother, who would have been only
three at the time he came and we're all dressed up.
I had pigtails on, and my mom's in the photo,
and my nana's in the photo, and.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
I'm like, the whole family.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
It's quite funny because they obviously had to sign up
and put their names down because they do you on
your own, and then your family would come in for
the family photo.
Speaker 4 (04:27):
And this was just like the normal I know.
Speaker 7 (04:28):
And I remember I said to my dad, it's like,
wasn't this taken at Clydmore Primary. I was like, yeah, yeah,
we all had all family photo there, and you know,
I had to ask you all those guys.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
The question was was this like at.
Speaker 7 (04:39):
Every school or is it just like like you know,
like make it make sense?
Speaker 5 (04:44):
Man, Well it happened to your school as well, but
I think you had the option to go in.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Yes, well I don't do a family photo.
Speaker 6 (04:51):
Because I was five.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Well, we never got it done, so I just love it.
Speaker 5 (04:54):
One of those things. Oh no, that was because at
that time I was like, oh, she's from my broken family.
Speaker 2 (05:02):
You say, oh, I think you had to sign up
for it because parents did it.
Speaker 6 (05:06):
Yeah, yeah, broken meal.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
Times.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
But let us know whether you whether there was a
thing when you were growing up eight two double O
genuinely curious with me and Charlie just making things that
just mean because.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
No one else understands.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
You got the photographic evidence, but just how did this happen?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
But it wasn't in a photo studio and you're just
starting a thing. No, no, no, it's definitely at school.
We've all seen it.
Speaker 5 (05:29):
And I did check my youngest child and with the
other two when the other two were already at school,
and you had the chance to bring the sibling and
I did that. You've done that, yeah, but I didn't
put myself in there. And like my white my white shirt.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
On the bottom, and your mother, your cooly malow. Everyone
had those.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
And you're Rachel. You're Rachel from Friends Haircut.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Taylor Swift and Kanye, let's talk about it because they've
had a turbulent relationship since the year two thousand and nine,
the year Kanye jumped on stage when Taylor was about
to say an acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards,
which happened yesterday in twenty twenty four, went a little
like this.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
No, Taylor, I'm.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Really happy for you.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
I'm let you finish.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
But Beyonce had one of her best videos of all time,
one of her best videos.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Of all time.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
Remember the time this happened, ruthless Beyonce was cringe egg
no I know.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
So I'm pretty sure everyone on this globe knew about
the incident. Memes were being made, the.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Media ate it up, and even a trend.
Speaker 6 (06:38):
Started of being Kanye.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I'm really happy he I'm to let you finish, and.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
I love Beyonce.
Speaker 8 (06:46):
I want to thank BT for excuse me, Kanye, I'm
gonna let you continue.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
But yeah, that's jay Z interrupting Kanye. The incident was global.
Let's say that well. Taylor later admitted that he did apologize.
This was in the year two thousand and nine.
Speaker 6 (07:03):
They've also putched it together at the Grammy.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
She also presented him with the Video Vanguard Award in
twenty fifteen at the MTV Music Awards.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
So things were looking up.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Time had pass, you know, things were looking good until
Kanye released a song called Famous in the year twenty sixty.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Yeah from Kanye West.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
If you sing him minute sounds a little like that
he made famous, which is quite good, right, nice song,
nice song.
Speaker 6 (07:33):
Well. The issue that.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Taylor's fans, herself, her friends, her family were not happy
with was this lyric I feel like me and Taylor
might still has what I made that famous. I made
that famous, referring to her and Taylor doing the dirty.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
So, as you can imagine, people were not happy. Taylor
Swift's brother actually posted a video online saying, taking the
trash out while throwing away a pair of Yeezy's.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
Let's not forget that.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
The video featured a bunch of celebrities as sculptures in
a bed, with Kanye and Kim in the middle of
the bed. Taylor Swift on Kanye's side, so the closest
to him.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Yeah, Kanye me, You're wild bro.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
Oh yeah, so many remember the times we could do
just about Kanye exactly.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
She was only nineteen at the time, so she was
quite young.
Speaker 2 (08:28):
Yeah yeah, So, as you can imagine, the internet was
going crazy. And then that's when Kanye's then wife, Kim
Kardashi and decided, you know what, I'm gonna stand up
for Kanye.
Speaker 6 (08:36):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
She did it during multiple interviews and posted a clip
of Taylor Swift agreeing to the lyrics on the song
famous because famously, you know, her team came out and said,
we never we never said that that you could do that.
Why why have you not asked for permission.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
No, I don't think it's mean.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Okay, okay to all my south side is that know
me best?
Speaker 4 (09:04):
I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Help me.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
The conversation and clip was a little awkward, right that
was Bear in mind like twenty sixteen that that clip
came out, and it wasn't until twenty twenty that a
twenty minute phone call was released. So once everyone heard
the full full call, it was obvious Taylor agreed to
being mentioned, but it was obvious Kanye downplays.
Speaker 6 (09:33):
What he'll actually say.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
Yeah, I said I feel like we could still have
and that he made it famous.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
And it was just last year that Taylor said that
the feud at the time felt like career death for herself.
And all I have to say is look at her now,
the world's biggest artist right now.
Speaker 4 (09:48):
So we remember the time that Kanye had a Kanye,
I'm unless you finished, I'm a least finished work. I'm
leave FINNISHU, RecA.
Speaker 7 (09:59):
Stay, Zarah and Charlie joining us live in the studio
this morning.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
We have the one and only the Legion David.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Yella.
Speaker 9 (10:09):
Thanks for having me.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
The beast thing is is that you're coming bearing good news, right,
tell the people where they can see you.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Thursday the twenty six, Just a couple of monks.
Speaker 10 (10:17):
I'm doing this event worth Tiger. We we're heading back
to Galatos so Livenu in Auckland. I haven't played there
for probably twenty years, I think. Ah, so it's like obviously,
you know, live venues at the time need our support,
and I just thought it was a cool initiative to
be part of, to go back and play a place
I haven't played in a long time.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
Love Galatos, Good Galatos memories. What's some of your Galatos memories.
Speaker 10 (10:38):
It's the first place I played they had an actual stage,
you know, because at the time I was coming up,
a lot of things I played was like just little
clubs where you have a riser and you're like two
cinimeters in love the audience. So this is the first
time I like I can remember playing there. Standing on
the stage, you're feeling like, oh, this is what it
feels like to be right, I know, like, oh, this
is a real there's a real performance.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
It's a really good size though, because the stage isn't
it still intimate.
Speaker 10 (11:00):
It's a proper, a proper performance venue, and we don't
actually have many of those. Even you know, even though
there were heaps a place for me to perform when
I started out, there still wasn't much like that.
Speaker 7 (11:09):
And I feel that like now under day and age
live venues or venues in itself, like I've sort of
died down. You know, people are not really going out
or going to watch live gigs these days.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Bro. Do you feel that?
Speaker 6 (11:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (11:19):
Totally.
Speaker 10 (11:20):
I mean that's why that's why I wasso keen to
be part of the initiatives to do this venue veterance
thing with Tiger, like it's needed.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
You know, what are you going to do? Like what
can we expect from your big nights.
Speaker 10 (11:31):
I'm looking to do a mixture of like old Like obviously,
I've got a new project which at least couple of
months back, so I want to do some stuff off
that I haven't performed in of it.
Speaker 9 (11:38):
But you know, I think it's important to do a
bunch of old stuff.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
Yeah, People go like, okay, what him and David.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Dallas live band, live band as well?
Speaker 9 (11:44):
No no live band for us, because it's like they
wouldn't be authentic.
Speaker 10 (11:47):
I didn't start out with a life, right.
Speaker 9 (11:50):
I start out was me and the DJ and this
type of venue.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
So and I'm not gonna lie. I think some of
the best gigs I've ever gone to are those ones
where yeah, you're right, there's a stage, but I out
really close to the artist.
Speaker 10 (12:02):
That's when I was talking to someone about it, the small,
the small ones that we actually learned to perform, because
sometimes you can go to like when you start out
and you go to a festival or something and you play,
there's almost an ease to it, like because every.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Yeah, no matter what you do exactly, so you.
Speaker 9 (12:17):
Can come away and think like, oh, I'm a good performer.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
And then you go into a small place and you
play it like you've got.
Speaker 9 (12:22):
To try and pull the crowd.
Speaker 10 (12:23):
And come off the stage and you're like, man, I'm trash.
Speaker 7 (12:26):
Put it roofless out in these smaller towns, bro. So
if you suck where they'll just look at you, you know,
and it's like, nah, that's not it, bro.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Would you say it's more nerve wrecking them? Because again,
because you're so close to the audience, are you like
making content?
Speaker 10 (12:41):
Like the times that I've like forgotten my words, they
always come from things like that. Like it's like someone
will catch your eye and you'll be like, it's just
guys as this person playing attention and it and it
takes your mind form and then you're just like we're
a on the song.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I just think like Tiger coming together and doing this,
this big new Veterans series. It feels so special and
like something we've needed, especially because of COVID ha heck Man,
like live music concerts, even festivals and bigger things.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
It took a hit.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
It took a hurt, and I can feel it feels
like the dust are settling and we have noticed o
cool people are statting buy their festival tickets and their
big tickets, and we've sort of forgotten about these types
of venues.
Speaker 9 (13:23):
Yeah, and it's important, like it it is an ecosystem.
You need all of it, do you know what I mean?
Speaker 10 (13:27):
Like you need you need small venus artists, need them
to come up and perform like the whole thing, Like
you need.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
It and you need to be there.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
It is essential that you RSVP, So hit along to
Tiger Bear n Z on Instagram and make sure you
lock in for this venue Veterans and it is cool
heart on entry. When you show up, it'll be an
incredible evening at galatos.
Speaker 4 (13:48):
Man and all of the call goes to the venue
as well. So this is what it's all about.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
It'll be massive.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yesterday, it was a huge day for music the MTV
Video Music Awards and look some of the big winners
across the night.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
I mean, Song of the Year did go to Sabrina Carpenter.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Expresso and I wanted to give a special mention to
the Video Vanguard Award winner, Katie Perry, because that's that's
like the cream Della cream, Like if you're an artist
getting that award for.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Is it kind of like a lifetime experience award kind
of thing.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Yeah, And this is Katie performing because the Video Vanguard
Award winner they always do like a medley. It's usually
about ten minutes long maxima, which it's not to work.
It's like congratulations, but you're also performing for ten minutes.
And the song and the artists who walked away with
the most awards was Taylor Swift and post Malone for
(14:45):
this song Fortnight.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
There on It.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
Together, Yes exactly, so five awards for post Malone, but
then six for Taylor Swift. Show she got one on
her own eminem he won an Award.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
For who d.
Speaker 6 (15:02):
Oh Yeah cover.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
That's not just sounds like one I know older songs.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
It's a total cover.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
He got the cover, do you fear?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
He did get it for visual effics, so not for
the song itself. He's been recognized for it. We'll do
a lipa one biscoography for Whodini it may it makes sense,
Tyler one for frob a song don't know you all
(15:32):
try to do it on tiptop scissor one for Snooz.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
I can never figure out when these songs came out,
Like this feels like it came out years ago.
Speaker 6 (15:44):
Yeah, I know, yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Either way, Like those are your main ones from the
MTV Video Music Awards and if you've got spare time,
I always find it quite fun.
Speaker 4 (15:57):
Watching the performances on YouTube, like you, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I'm one of those people that think putting that on
the tully pretty enjoyable.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
And I always sit there and I'm like.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Dear lips locking sinking the back tracks really hard.
Speaker 5 (16:09):
I'm going to play you the song that it samples,
Abrika Daba by the Stig Miller Band.
Speaker 4 (16:13):
It's like ridiculous, it's a straight comm.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
I'm that mom.
Speaker 7 (16:17):
I know I am all right, Bro, I'm calling you
out on this one, a Zora man, because it's I'm
hearing words coming out of Zora's mouth that I'm like, wait,
hang on, bro, who are you actually hanging out with?
Speaker 9 (16:30):
Broke?
Speaker 4 (16:30):
I have who's influencing her?
Speaker 3 (16:32):
Who's influencing you? Because I've never heard Zora say these words?
Speaker 9 (16:36):
Right.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
I asked Zara a question yesterday in regards to.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
Like in a slip bridges that have fallen off, and
she goes, yo, nah, yeah, yo, that's that's good, easy Lallos.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
I didn't say yo, yo yo, that's good Okay, I'm
just yeah, I can do that for you.
Speaker 7 (16:50):
Yeah, I could do that for you, easy Lalos. I
was like, wait, what easy last Lalos? So easy Lallos
is like like to if I was to say, hey,
is there you got a fight coming up?
Speaker 1 (17:03):
Bro?
Speaker 3 (17:03):
How are you feeling?
Speaker 7 (17:05):
Easy lallos like that that means like easy drops and
tongue And so I'm like, bro, who are your.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Tongue and friends that you're hanging with?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
Bro?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Like, because I'm the only tongue in like, I'm life.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Yeah, you've already texted the tongue about.
Speaker 7 (17:19):
I'm friend here, bro, like whom hanging around with.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
You know, I'm embarrassed because I don't know why I
said it. I can't even think of the origin of
where I got it from. But I feel that people
have been saying that for for years. I can remember
in high school, people would just say it, and I
to be fear. I didn't next, you know, really whatever
saying until yesterday, I didn't like easy drops.
Speaker 4 (17:45):
I don't know that.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
I just thought it means like easy for me. That's
what I thought easy lallos. Honestly, Bro, this is your
last chime with the last chance here. Bro, don't you
ever say that we're without understanding the definition.
Speaker 3 (17:59):
Bro, don't do that again.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
You say lots of words in your vocably, but you
don't know who the word eng You know.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
Even an English had there understand Come on, bro, easy lalas.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Okay, I won't do it again.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Sorry. Maybe I've just got more talking friends and you
don't know about them.
Speaker 6 (18:18):
Look, I'm just going here.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
I'm gonna I'm gonna go ahead and say it. The
black ferns they're ballsy, man, They're pretty poor. Because have
you seen the video that's going around on the internet
of the girls literally a Buckingham palace with the king
the king.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
And what did they do in true Kiwi style, just ok,
we have.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
A huge ask and you shall receive men.
Speaker 5 (18:40):
She actually said, we wanted to ask you something, but
we're not sure if it's going to be okay, and
he said what is it? And she said, well, we'd
like to hug you, and he says why not?
Speaker 6 (18:50):
Yeah, yeah, why not?
Speaker 4 (19:03):
Why was I so happy for them?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
And this one that internet yesterday?
Speaker 7 (19:08):
To be honest, like, you know, when when you come
across like the king, yeah, it's the king really like
to be that close?
Speaker 4 (19:17):
Well it is quite old to it.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I don't think he relocally was signing up for because
he says, yeah, why not and then literally.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Yeah exactly. They all just go straight around him, and I'm.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Like, oh, I've never seen him smile.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
That much, to be honest, because there's always protocols you're
not supposed to, you know, reach, you're not supposed to
extend your hand to them.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
Then to do it.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Someone on his team was like literally sweating bullets watching.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
It's the Kick those News Zealand.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
I remember, I mean on the back of this, I
remember hearing one of Ourn's stories meeting the Queen my
brother in law.
Speaker 5 (19:57):
And when the Kiwi team went there, yeah, they all
they all trying to be on their best manners and everything,
but they were. They did actually decide to take the
teaspoons are very fancy from Buckingham Palace and then so
they were all putting them in their pockets because every
time we got a cup of tea there was like
a fancy little teaspoon there and so they said they
put them in their pockets and then they said, now
can you do the hacker and of course the hacker ticket.
Speaker 6 (20:23):
Did any of them fall out?
Speaker 5 (20:25):
They yes, I think they were. They were of security
was giving side.
Speaker 6 (20:29):
Eye at the time. They still went home with some teaspoons.
Some of them got them.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Well if you see one up for auction and you
know where it came from. Oh man, I love us,
say I love us.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Stace, Azara and Charlie the latest celebrity goss from around
the world Wave Breakfast, All Am Go.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
Caddie B has given birth to her baby girl, so
that's her third child off set and he was there
as well. Even though she has filed for divorce, everyone
seems pretty happy there and even though she actually only
revealed her pregancy last month.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
I bet you you know, with the birth of their
new baby, it's going to bring them back together. Urick
in Staff.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Hmm, don't I that She is the prettiest little thing.
She looks happy.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Yeah, I mean, you know, three child. She looked stunning
in those photos. And in other news, well, the MTV
Video Music Awards, they went down yesterday getting a Song
of the Year, which is a huge deal, was Espresso.
Speaker 6 (21:35):
By Sabrina Carpenter.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
But one of the moments that I really loved at
the Video Music Awards was Flavor Flav.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
He got on stage and he.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Actually awarded a bronze clock to Jordan Charles, who was
actually that got stripped of her during the Olympics. She's
a gymnast, and yeah, she's she's pretty happy about it.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
Who tried to drink your metal a week from you?
Speaker 9 (22:00):
You know, I'm saying, but you know what I got
you something that they can't take away from them?
Speaker 2 (22:12):
Yeah some bling, Yeah, yeah, Uncle Favor Flavor, come and
deal with the clock. She must have known though, because
they're both on stage at the Video Music Awards. But
can you hear the crowd going by when they took
about her meddle being stripped.
Speaker 5 (22:23):
Yeah, because I mean she got in fifth place, and
then the judges agreed to her coach's request to restore
an element of her routine, so that took her up
to bronze. But then the Romanian Gymnastics Federation asked for
a review and then she had taken off.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
You yeah, because apparently there's only a certain amount of time,
like grace period that you have for your coach to
go and complain to the officials and and get those
schools changed. So technically, even though yeah, she rightfully deserved
the bronze, the rules of the rule, and they're looking
and even changing the rule.
Speaker 7 (22:57):
So coming through clutch, there's word said he broke reach
out to me. I got something for you, lang baby,
that is.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Your even gossip. I do want to know, Charlie. Did
you know that we have a panic button?
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (23:13):
I did? You did? Yeah, it's somewhere under the desk
on on your right hand side.
Speaker 5 (23:18):
Do you know what a panic button is? What I
did just yesterday, I did so with confidence. Then yes,
I do know. But you just found out yesterday when
I found out.
Speaker 6 (23:29):
As well what you didn't know either?
Speaker 4 (23:31):
No, oh, my gosh, like you haven't been panicking.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, yeah, the panic button, it's it's actually just for
people's safety. I'm not sure the other officers have panic buttons,
but we've got one under the disc that we work on,
just on my side of the disk, and then there's
also one out in.
Speaker 4 (23:51):
The producer's booth.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
Now there's a couple of panic buttons, and so it's
for f say someone got into this room and was
threatening us, yes, exactly.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Or you could hit the panic button if someone was
being threatening outside and you could see that, or you know,
you were feeling unsafe, for.
Speaker 5 (24:09):
Instance, if there was a t Rex coming down the
street and luckily to smash into her.
Speaker 4 (24:17):
With the TX button. Well, crazy stuff, guys. I have
hit the panic button multiple times, wow, on accident.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
Because they put it like under like it's literally.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Like the movies, you know when in the banks when
they're getting robbed and they hit the button under the disc.
So if I go to fold my legs over like
cross my legs, I've had it and I've done it,
and the producers both as well. Do you know the
security came and checked on me twice, and I think
I had it quite often because yesterday I was like, oh,
I've had it, and I'm like, no, no, you hit it, Lakers,
and this is a reoccurring thing. You're still kicking it
(24:51):
on me. Now there's something now, but they still what hey,
it's like the boy who cried wolf, what opens ifire
and panicking.
Speaker 7 (25:00):
Her leg hit the panic button and again, oh man,
and a t rex could have got me.
Speaker 4 (25:05):
Yep, but watch out for the t rexes.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
If you're ever feeling panics, the two of you feel free,
you can come around my side or let me know.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
I'm a legal hit it.
Speaker 4 (25:15):
I'm here Monday to Friday. Did your knee as you
did it?
Speaker 2 (25:19):
No, I didn't even I don't even notice it. I'm
actually gonna go and look to see where it is
right now. Well, we are so excited because we're not
alone in the studio right now. Oh no, We've got
artists Chase.
Speaker 6 (25:30):
And my Welcome to fame.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
So you've got a big performance tonight and we're celebrating.
Way at the anthems, how they go back? I hate
the ball, nae.
Speaker 11 (25:40):
What have we got in a bit of at the
moment tonight? Showcasing all of our water that we've been
making over the past year under the Tomtol program.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
You talk about way to Anthems, it's a five year movement,
so you guys have got new way out there out
and who else will be there?
Speaker 8 (25:58):
Yeah, so obviously Mane I, we'll have towers there, Nico Grace,
the sixteen year old phenomenon who are George Shordan with
the y Magic made more, He will be there. He's
not feeling too well, and same with our brother hen
Idea from Illustrate.
Speaker 9 (26:19):
He'll be the he's on tour at the moment.
Speaker 3 (26:21):
How's her rehearsal's been.
Speaker 11 (26:22):
They've been pretty good. Ah, it's my first time performing
my two wives is live at all? Wow, without my band,
it's pretty buzzy. But we're in amazing hands with the
Nansen brothers. They took care of us and it's so
kind and absolute pros with what they do. So yeah,
looking forward to it.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
Yeah, well, it's such a special thing.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Like what Stace was saying, this is the fifth fifth
time that wa Anthems has has come out. I know
that they've got like a vinyl coming out today as
well as the gig on at Auckland Museum, and like
it's not just any place to perform.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
You know it's Auckland Museum. That's so cool. Do both
of you even go on like a school trip to
the museum and now you're like, yeah, I'm afore.
Speaker 8 (27:04):
Here, Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thirteen was the last time I
was there for yeah, for a school trip. So it's
going to be it's going to be crazy going back
for to perform, I guess, especially with with the with
the Tomataku.
Speaker 5 (27:16):
So with w the anthems. I mean, people have had
different journeys. Some of them I know, like say be
quite hard for her to be able to sing in
Thirdel Marti, we had six sixteen and writing Pepper really
big for them. How has this experience been for you
are el Nate? Is that there an easy part of
it or how hung accorded or more cord.
Speaker 11 (27:37):
Were crackt It's been an absolute like noctify.
Speaker 9 (27:44):
Pooh.
Speaker 11 (27:46):
But it's the kind of two hats you have to
wear one as an artist, but also ensuring that Theddell
is in your wayater and is acknowledged and is as good.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
Do you guys have like a co Marto that in
the studio, like boy do that again?
Speaker 2 (28:04):
That wasn't that wasn't rightday's name.
Speaker 8 (28:11):
Oh yes, Tommy, we we we spent a weekend with
them and our talkie and yeah, that was so cool
when they came to the they came to the studio
and just a vibe out really, no no criticism, no
no input, really just like little gems from Finny Michael
just scadding.
Speaker 4 (28:27):
It was crazy and adding to the coupper.
Speaker 9 (28:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 8 (28:29):
Percent until the dogs started fighting in the now we're
bringing it up because used to hear it.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
So in terms of that's that's this week and Wyata carrying.
Speaker 5 (28:43):
Out, that's one of our most powerful regeneration tools do
isn't it? What have you how have you seen that
come to life when audiences, you know, get into the
vibe of way Mary.
Speaker 8 (28:54):
You know, just all my final all my nieces and
nephews singing not just my songs but more his songs,
the songs, and it's just it's just cool because like
growing up, we would do the same and it was
I was kind of scared for a bit that there
was there was hardly any new Maldi music coming out
that other generations wouldn't have that as well. So I
think we're in a mean place at the moment.
Speaker 9 (29:15):
Everywhere you go. There's different sounds, but it's all in Maldy.
Speaker 4 (29:18):
Yeah, and that's what we're after.
Speaker 6 (29:22):
Are you going to crack up?
Speaker 5 (29:23):
Are you gonna get annoyed this weekend on your lovely
romantic getaway?
Speaker 1 (29:28):
I might?
Speaker 11 (29:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
We when I got back from Europe, we decided, you
know what, we should go on a little break, just
me and you.
Speaker 4 (29:35):
This is my partner, Dev and we booked.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
This this this cabin on this farmland by by a
little lake in Wypoo, near Lang's Beach and the caves.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
Obviously as well.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
He has mentioned that there's a good golf course there
but it's expensive for him, so just wip. Oh no,
we're not going to go golfing on a So I
was thinking, okay, cool, just me and him time outdoor,
bath vibes. You know it's going to be great. Until
we started talking today about finals footing for the league.
(30:10):
Oh man, and I know that he's big on this.
It's it's like his baby.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
I'm not so you thought you'd go away for a
romantic weekend. He's going to be watching finals footy.
Speaker 6 (30:21):
Don't say that.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
Haven't you been getting into it as well?
Speaker 4 (30:24):
Like I don't mind it?
Speaker 6 (30:29):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
I have a couple of wines and I'll enjoy it,
but I I don't want to watch back to back
games like he's so.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
He does not care.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
He will watch spoiling back to back to back if
he could. If there was good sport on, he would
sit from the moment it started to the moment it
ends it. If it takes eight hours, he'd do it. Well,
maybe there's no sky, maybe there's no service.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
He's got all of that. So what you need to
hope for is no service.
Speaker 6 (30:57):
Let's go no service. Don't let him hear me Offred Off.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
Have a good weekend. Everybody.
Speaker 6 (31:04):
We will catch you Monday.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
Stay safe, sanyup.
