Speaker 1 (00:06):
You're listening to the All Sport Breakfast podcast with Darcy
Waldegrave from News Talk s B seven thirty seven.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
And there's only one Jim Dolan, one Jim Dollar. Only
one Jim Dolan, Hello Jim, you wouldn't see the other,
I believe the last couple of days, how are you?

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (00:21):
At the Opera House Thursday night, very very good. Yeah,
only waited forty years for that's it's pretty good to see.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
It was fantastic. I went along, very blessed for an
old man to go and see another old man play
rock and roll. Right to Sport.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
We go the most polite crowd. He's performed in front
of the best singers. So give yourself a pat of
the back down.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
It said that we were the best singers on that.
There's just some platitudes that you say. Everybody's I'm amazing,
honest guy, this is good, right, it's get the sports.
Sorry about that? What a what a start for your
test series against it? What was that all about?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
Can I just ask you something? First? Will was his grandparents.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
You guys didn't need him, No, we didn't.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Uhh yes, the good work of bowling in you're out
for one hundred and fifty all undone by the Aussie batsman,
seven for sixty seven Kerry, who's actually looking good and
stark well where he could make a hundred or he
could be back in the pavilion next moll Wh's.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Going to give it a gill'sbee. You wait, he'll turn
around and make ninety nine.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
That would be exciting to see. I'd like somebody to
make ninety nine because they had added something to this
and I'm pretty sure the Cricket Australia and the fans
would probably like it someone who make ninety nine too,
because otherwise anyone who's bought tickets on day three or
four and five might be a little bit nervous. The
worst ever score at home againts Cindia. Yep, we've already

(01:45):
started looking those up eighty three at the MCG in
nineteen ninety one, so they've got to make sixteen more
to get past that. Stark After places, there's some big
cracks appearing in the pitch and it's going to be
hotter today, so batting might not get any easier. Can't
blame the pitch. What's happened. He's spent some superb bowling
the Aussies led by Josh Hazel that fantastic early only

(02:07):
part put up some resistance there. But then Boomra, He's
just led by a shining example as captain and his
spell was remarkable and I just was enthrilling to watch
the way they bowled. It was fantastic. So fingers crossed
somebody can perform a little bit with the bat today.
Smith and Coley under a bit of pressure, some people

(02:28):
blaming the pitch, but plenty saying maybe it wasn't a
good idea to wrap the Aussie top order in cotton
wool in the week's leading after this Test when they
should have spent some more time in the middle.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Well that's what Carry did, didn't he He's actually playing
cricket and you can tell you can see the ball.
He kind of understood things like that and the bowling
was superb on both sides. I still stand by my
motion that Boomra has got the ugliest action since Paul Adams,
but like it's effective, so you can't complain too much.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
You're just expect him to fall over. And then Rada
when he got a wicket, he actually stepped out of
his shoe past Whether this bike's got slacked the ground
or whatever it was, just the ball was stuck on
the crease and everyone's looking or did he catch cleanly
or not? And it's oh, hang on, issue is still
in the in the weekend.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Oh, he probably got stuck in one of those cracks.
And I'd suggest this several sets of car keys and
them as well. Okay, just before we go to the
next topic, can you explain what as Steve Smith was
doing or what was that.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Tim has been out LBW the first time in his
career and I think he certainly could have benefited from
some more time in the middle and just not getting
the feet moving. And Pat Caman said, oh, his hands
are fantastic at the moment, just the eyes and the
feet maybe not doing what they should.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
You try a combo if you will. You're looking for
some golf? What for you to play today? Or is
there something else more important on?

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Well, some people might say the Australian PGA is a
little more important. For the first time ever, it's a
fifty four whole event. Two hundred and fifty millimeters of
rain fell at Royal Queensland in Brisbane yesterday morning and
they said we could have gone picked in place, but
there was just no dry spots on the fairways to
move the ball tooo bunkers full of water, so the

(04:12):
green staff will have been working over time. There's still
some rain forecast today but nothing like yesterday, so fingers
crossed they will get out in the next hour or
so to get that underway. Elvis Smiley or when you're
in Perth recently he's demanded catch. He's six under, leading
by one for the local fans and the organizers Jason Day,
Cameron Smith and Mark Leachman, they're all four under, so

(04:33):
just a couple back. They should draw some big crowds today.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
How close to the sea is the track, No.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's a fair distance. But Queensland, well, the south southern
part of Queensland. I can tell you from driving up
there last week. It's it's had plenty of rain. It
probably doesn't need too much more. It could go west
or north and it to be very welcome.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
What are the chances of crocodiles or bull sharks on
the fairways.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
It hasn't been that much rain, but yeah, it's still
gonna be a little.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Bit muddy a craft Those bull sharks mate their craft
sult order to fresh water. I'd watch them. I'd be concerned.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Away from got white trousers.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
To the next the subject looking forward to the final
test of the season for the David Campese inspired resurgence
of Joe Schmitz.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Wallaby's Yeah, and they're going to introduce some magic. I'm
sure he's heard them all. Western Force winger Harry Potter
makes his international debut against Scotland on Monday morning at Murrayfield.
Eight sorry six changes to the side. Harry Wilson is
back a number eight and skipper Joseph Swale he's back
at outside ceda because Samukurev's got a three week holiday

(05:45):
suspended for that tackle last week, and Ikeitaw goes to twelve.
So Scotland they've just made fourteen changes from the side
that thrashed Portugal. They're bringing back the big guns, of course,
in an effort to end the Wallabies winning run. It
is a little weird that Melbourne and Australian under twenties
player Sione two Pilaru he will for Scotland. His grandmother,

(06:08):
who makes him eligible, born in Scotland as she was
she has been flown home for the big game, so
he'll obviously want to put on a show for Nana.
But there's plenty of people who I think might even
make the effort to get up on Monday morning. And
now I have a look at the Wallabies have a
stranger a couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
But it's refreshing, is it not? This is good. I
know that we don't particularly like the Wallabies, but the
fact that actually present clear and present danger what I
are up there anyway, it kind of adds a bit
of something, albeit far too far out to bleedterslow cups like, wow,
you've got a rugby team that can play. How cool?

Speaker 3 (06:42):
Yeah, but it's silaced. A couple of the critics too
about the British and Irish Lions two and next year,
that the Australia would be just a cake walk for them.
So perhaps might have.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
A little bit of resistance looking forward to it. And
on that We'll let you get on with your busy
old day. Watch out for those bull sharks, said Jim Dolan.
Will catch again next weekend.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Uh, I'm going axe throwing this afternoon at a Bucks party.
What could possibly go wrong?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Oh well, it's gonna be nice dealing with you. Thanks
for all your time in the last few years. Seven
forty three, This is News Talks as Jim Dolan out
of Australia. This says The All Sport Breakfast.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
