Speaker 2 (00:20):
I joined now by oh mate Jim Dolan out of
Australia to give us the latest fun and games in
the West Islands Sporting flavor. Jim, have you been getting
the Instagram posts I've been sending in your direction or
have they just avoided you completely.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
I'm not on the Insta, Darcio. Sorry, but I'm glad
to know you're out in the wild today and the
fans can get to interact with you.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Well, I'll just tag you in. I mean, like written
mentioned your name. I know you're not on Insta. You
felt it far too long in the tooth of that
kind of behavior, But enough you I'm out here. This
is beautiful.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
It really is.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
It's almost like Sidney Harbor. I don't believe I said that.
I'm sorry I didn't. Let let's talk about the Australian Open,
because that is the big event going on in Australia.
At the moment I was watching that last night until
I realized it was eleven thirty at night and night
to get up at four, So I didn't see the
end of Djokovic. But a few Australians today an accent
we should be looking at.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, and they're also looking to try and stop some
of those late night finishes after we had at three
o'clock in the morning finish on Thursday night and then
the Lucky Journals who stayed at four o'clock only. But
this whole one of the players I wasn't coming and
mister Medvedev, So yeah, they're trying to do something about that.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Boy.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
You Alex demon Or, he's what we're all cheering for
this afternoon Australian wise, the eighth seed, this is his
biggest test so far. He's got the thirty first seed.
You Francisco Saren Doolo, he's our big hope. Of course,
even Nick Curios says the Demon can go all the way,
so that's the sort of endorsement. What He's also got

(01:57):
a fairly favorable draw. He won't come across the top
ten player until the quarter finals, so we're all yes,
looking at Demon all this afternoon. He has been playing
well apart from injuries, so thing as Crossack is okay.
And then tonight we've got our very own pantomime villain.
We've got Madison Keys will have more support in Australia

(02:17):
than she've ever had before when she plays fellow American
Danielle Collins. I'm not sure if you've seen how this
went the other night, but she's now described as the
fiery temph feed Colins. She gave it to the crowd
as she bundled out one of our last Ossie's Destiny
I have with gestures, then taunting them in the player

(02:38):
interview saying thanks for paying for my luxury holiday. The
booing didn't stop, it only got louder. So yeah, she's
basically declared war against the crowd at Melbourne Park and
they've decided to return serve. So I'm very interested in
that match on rodin laver Arena tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
You've got to appreciate the honesty. Though I saw that,
I thought it was fantastic. She's just telling her how
it is, and I thought the Aussies and appreciate that surely,
not Bood, who really, what's wrong with you?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
El Oh? These are different times now, but everyone's offended
by everything darky, so you can imagine it's going to
be an interesting thing to watch tonight, and I'll have
the sound effects tend up loud.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Okay, so what can we be offended by? In the
women's ashes close the Aussies are a head. We'll walk
an up seat to spot the.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
English as well. I think we'll probably be offended by
the weather. But the girls have swept the one day
as the Australians, that is, they've been a couple of
close matches, well not so much yesterday. The English did
have their chances, but there's just been some tremendous individual
performances by a couple of Assies that have got them
across the line in all three games.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
And yesterday was just a breakthrough century for one of
our favorite Ossi players. And then I'm not sure if
you saw the catch she managed to hang on to
in the England innings right on the boundary, ran out
of the field to play and then came back in
and it was just a magnificent moment in that game.

(04:05):
Aim for a Showia going on to win, and it
was Ash Gardener who's finally got ourself a century and
looking good. The t twenty is Sydney Game one and
as I said, whether not fantastic in Sydney, sale GP
be interesting on Sydney Harbor at the moment because the
winds are out of control, so fingers Cross will get

(04:26):
some play in that game tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, more than interesting, sound fantastic, That's what I want
sale GP and the chaos we want get to hear
of the easterly way you want to see? Hey what
about sorry mate? The Big Bass? Ho are we looking there?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Well?

Speaker 3 (04:42):
The finalists are starting to take chap with the last
couple of games. Hobart playing for a seventh straight win
and they were quite going top of.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
The table into the finals.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
The Sixers of the Thunder met in the Sydney Smash
last night and I think we got three overs before
the weather just completely destroyed any chance of play in
that game. It's been an interesting week. When the DJ
caught fire in Brisbane Thursday, the laying that game for
a while. So I think we've seen just about everything
in the Big Batch so far this week. The Sixers

(05:12):
will finish second on the ladder, so they'll play home,
but the Thunder will finish third on the ladder after
last night's wash out, they will play either the Heat,
the Stars or the Strikers depending on results this weekend,
and if the Stars are the team to make the final,
that will just be remarkable given they lost five games
in a row to start the Big Bash. So you

(05:33):
could say that they're on a bit of a roll,
but whether sadly may have a say in matches this
weekend too.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
So what do you means the DJ court fire. I'm
fascinated that someone set him on fire. Caught himself on
firewa expand he.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Was banging out some smoking tunes and when smoke and
flames started coming out of the electrical works nearby, and
they had to stop the game while he singleheadedly was
trying to put it out with the fire extinguisher, and
he was trying to do it on the quiet, but
once he noticed everyone was looking at him the game

(06:06):
at stock, he went and got a bigger fire extinguisher
before professional help arrived. They can'tly evacuated people to start with,
but yeah, it when it stops the game, you know
it's serious. And Brisbane, are they going to any links
to try and get that brand new stadium to replace
the gather fantas.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Jim that is entertainment, mate, that's what you need out there.
A literal flame up from the DJA. And on that note,
that rather burnt and smelling note, because you know burning
hair doesn't smell great. We thank you very much for
your time, Jimmy, look after yourself. Catch again next week.
If you don't mind, you'd be a.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Stole out on one of those boats today. It'll be awesome.
