Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Coast Breakfast Bonus Podcast with Tony Jason Sam.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Thanks for listening to our Breakfast Bonus podcast. Today we're
talking about the ADP, the Assisted Dying Pod. Have you
heard about this?
Speaker 3 (00:11):
I haven't heard, but I saw it and it gave
me the he b gbis because if you're a claustrophobic person,
you know, you can't even assist yourself dying because it's
so terrifying.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Do I think at that point that's the last year concerns,
isn't it?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
I'm telling you right now, even if I was thinking
that way, I still wouldn't want to hop in what
is essentially like like the most vacuum. It's like it's
the way to describe it for me is you know
how we all used to get Humbird's bag in the day.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Yes, you know, it's exactly like that, but close how
it looks to me.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
You know that some cars drive around tho big luggage
containers on the roof.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
That's it's basically a coffin you can see out of.
Isn't it Okay?
Speaker 4 (00:53):
So here's the question. Then, if if you to create
a sister dying, would you how would you do it?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Would you? Yeah? I just want to put on a mask.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
At least be able to be outside.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Well, why wouldn't you what your last your last moments
are looking at a plastic screen right up on your face.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
If you change your mind, you're being on the lid
because you're changing your mind.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Who knows, they don't know. They've never assisted themselves to
die before, so you know, you might. People say that
when they life flashes before their eyes, they suddenly have
this compulsion to live.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
It's much like getting on a roller coaster, isn't it.
Like you could get right up to the front of
the queue and they decide you don't want to go
on changed, And that's the same with the roller coaster
once again. You know, if you've got the if you've
got the harness on and then get off, you can't
get off.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
I am right. I am actually very pro assisted dying
because I think some people are in such extreme pain
and that's why it's hard for us to imagine. But
I also feel like the concept of choosing when exactly
you die is so hard as well.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
It's also clear it's because so new, it's so foreign
to all of us. But I sort of tend to
agree if the quality of life is just not there.
There's no quality anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Melissa Stokes wrote about this because who mum did it?
That's right, and she said it was very hard on
the family because the family knows that dates approaching. It's
one thing for the person and they know it's the
right thing to do being a family member.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
And also you talk about these family members so that
the first people who are going to use these assisted
dying pods, and this is how real they are. These
people have paid their money to do it as a
husband and wife. And the Gudio film and you can
get this filmed. Who wants to see that? Though?
Speaker 3 (02:33):
No one?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Well no, because it's about it's about making the decision
to educate. This is new territory for us, for animals,
and this is a chance to educate people maybe to
show that it's not painful or anything like that, because
people do go through how we'll death, and you know,
we know it's the right thing to do because we
do it to animals, but because because of human consciousness,
(02:55):
we're too scared to make the right decision ourselves or
for other people. All that we can learn about this,
I'm wholeheartedly for it, but I agree I don't know
if I want to do it in a tu lab.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
You're so right. It's like a gold confix, isn't it.
You know, we get to play gold when it comes
to animals and our pets and things, you know, the
little magic needle. But then when it comes to people, suddenly,
oh no, we don't want to do that. Yeah, so
you're right. So I think you're right. The more we
learn about it a bit bit for me looking at
this thing, this assisted dying pod.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
Absolutely not no, no, no, it's it's a lot.
