Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Movie Crush, A production of I Heart Radio.
(00:28):
Hey Everybody, and Welcome to Movie Crush. Miny Crush Monday
with me and Noel. Noel and I. The two of
us go in somewhere doing some things. Home, no way home,
I'm going home. It was a nice heart on you there, Chuck,
(00:53):
I did I didn't hear it because you're actually your
ship cut out. Did it sound good? Oh? I god,
I hope it sinks up. I really hope it's himself
because it was lovely. It warmed my heart. Chuck, how
are you doing? Good? Tune? I'm doing great? How are
you good? Have you heard the Amy Man and Her
Husband version of that that was on the I Am
Sam soundtrack? I have, indeed, I quite enjoyed that soundtrack
(01:13):
with different I think it's probably far superior to the
movie itself. I never saw the movie, but I will
say this, Uh, it has one of my favorite Beatles
covers ever, in the Granddaddy's version of Revolution is Granddaddy
doesn't get enough props. I really liked them a lot though.
They were one of my favorite legit one of my
(01:34):
favorite bands for their period. When I was living in
l A. They were fantastic top top five for me
from Modesto, which I think is so cool. They never
moved into the city. They just like we're like, we're
a Modesto band. I think that's so cool. Yeah, Jason,
I think he lives out in like Montana or something.
Now he's a He's looks like Woodland creature. They were
all like beardy kind of like Lumberjack looking fellas you
(01:57):
know before that was cool. Oh, but they I think
they were just very much themselves. I mean, anyone who
wasn't familiar, like you could kind of compare them to
like kind of like Radiohead but but much more just
like indie rock, but like they talked about similar themes
of like alienation between nature and technology and used lots
of synths and lots of cool blips and bloops. But
(02:18):
some of their songs are heartbreaking, le sad. Some of
them are also very hopeful and upbeat and just beautiful,
beautiful band. I love it. We do uh el Chiepo
does Geez like one to three. I think we did
like four or five Granddaddy songs for fun, like that
song Hewlett's daughter. I used to cover that in the
Bad We Do helets We do that. We do now
it's on, we do Crystal Lake. They're also great. I
(02:44):
can't remember, but they're all. They're always fun to sing.
He's so cool, it's great. He's a treasure. I agree.
Uh so, no, let's go ahead and get going here
because we got a few items to go over. I
asked the crushers this, NOL, what's your favorite all time
TV show cast? You got one off the Dome. Yeah,
(03:04):
great cast, very good cast making only since Parks and Wreck,
each character cracks me up and his growth throughout the series.
It's just a pretty stack cast. I agree. I couldn't
agree more. I mean, in terms of like a comedic
ensemble cast, doesn't get much better than The Office and
Parks and Rack. Yeah, yeah, totally. The Office is great.
(03:27):
I started following Angela Kinsey on Instagram and she just
seems delightful, just seems like a lovely human and mother
and wife and just person. Looks she's really enjoy her
Instagram feed and jenniferher to I follow her too, totally.
Where can people follow you? Know? You can follow me
on Instagram where I am at? How now, Noel Brown,
(03:49):
thanks for asking, Chuck, Sure you can follow me? At
Chuck the podcast or uh uh. Ruby started doing that.
Lately she started doing as Zumbi boys, Holy crab, that's creep.
That's almost like the Shining Voice Hellos as tar ads.
But it made me remember when I was a kid,
(04:10):
when he first when he first learned how to do that,
realize you can do that, when you first realize you
can roll your eyes in the back of your head
and make them just the whites, you know. Yeah, I
never could do that, but I asked her the other day.
I got a good video of it. She was doing
her zombie and I was like, what's your favorite food zombie?
And she went, zombie brains ice cream. Wait a minute,
(04:34):
Wait a minute, it's not to unpack here. So she
she's like a cannibal. Then zombie brains. I get. Yeah,
she didn't put it all together. She didn't technically know
what a zombie is. But I told her that zombies
eat brains and that's how they list. Yeah, but then
zombie brains ice cream, just that that little six year
old edition of ice cream was very love it. I
love it. It's a really adorable, a lot of fun.
(04:55):
Let me see. Benjamin the Cherito says psych I've never
seen that, because not only are all the main characters
amazing at playing the comedy and serious scenes, but the
side and recurring characters are just as endearing as wonderful.
Have you seen that show? No, I've not ever seen that.
Andrea Himans has lost. Everyone on that show was amazing,
lover hate the characters, and there were many, but just
(05:16):
the best. I think that's the thing that that redeemed
that show to the end, right, Like, I mean, I
think we were all I know you were very disappointed
with the way it ended, but I think what kept
us along for the ride is that the characters were
so damn good and compelling. Yeah, we were invested. We
were all invested. No, that's a tough show to end.
We talked about it before, but I think that at
(05:37):
some point they were like, oh, we kind of dug
a big hole here, guys, I'm not sure what to do.
Call in the script doctors. Yeah, Alicia Capps a stranger things.
Every single one of those kids are absolute stars in
the Rise. The way they worked together, in the chemistry
you can see on screen makes the project even more beloved. Unbelievable.
I do love that cast. Fabulous. Yeah, let me see here,
(06:00):
Terre Letrus as the I T Crowd. That's the show
I haven't seen, but I've heard it's really good. Chuck,
that is right up your street. My fine, no, right, yeah,
it really is. It's it's I mean, you know Matt Berry, right, yeah,
he's in it, and um, he's incredible and you know
he can only really do the one thing, but it's
just and um Richard Iowati, who is also a great
(06:23):
director who did a movie called The Double in a
movie called Submarine that are both really really lovely. Um,
he's he plays this nerdy character named moss Um who
is just the best. And you like the Irish guy
who you said it never gets his due, who was
in like Dinner for schmucks, you know, um, Chris o
dowd Uh. He plays the one of the main leads.
(06:43):
And it's just a I completely agree with the listener.
It's a perfectly casting, wonderful show. You gotta check that out.
Uh oh, or old pal Sammy Kahill. Hey, Sammy says
that seventies show those lovable characters who are perfectly cast.
I was a big fan of that seventy show. I
loved it, perfect ensemble vibes. And I know I mentioned
this before, but when I was screenplay writing back in
(07:04):
the day, writing specs, the probably the best thing I
ever wrote was the seventies show Spec. You did mention
that and it was it was. It was quite a
good up, I think, and it exists as reality in
my mind. Yeah. Second that from with Michelle uh Canyon.
That seventies show. Every other show I loved had at
least one or two characters I didn't like or hated,
(07:24):
from Friends to Peky Blinders, going through How I Met
Your Mother? But that seventies show loved everyone. That's great.
Shane Hill says, it's always sunny in Philadelphia. Yeah, I mean,
that's just a legendary group of actors right there. Totally.
I only watched a few seasons of that. I really
loved it, but it wasn't a show that I just
kind of stuck through all the way through. But I
(07:45):
really really did like it when I watched it. I
like it too. I watched it sort of like here
and there. It is a very aggressively mean spirited show.
So it's sometimes isn't isn't the vibe for you? You
know what I mean? Making Carroll says dead would with
the subtraction of Jeff Jones. Did a great job in
the role, but I don't want that controversy. Oh, I
(08:06):
don't know about that, is Jeff. I don't know who
is Jeff Jones. See, I'm not even sure. Oh Jeffrey Jones. Okay,
he's the chief executive officer of H and R Block.
Is that who we're talking? Yeah, he was from Ferris
Bueller's Day Off. He is quite an actor. But I
believe there was like a child pornography thing that he
(08:28):
was accused of at one point. I'm not sure. Yeah,
he was in Beatle Juice, the newspaper man. I didn't
know anything about that. Okay, well, yeah, now you do know.
Thanks not good, not good at all out about month charges,
child porn charges. Okay, no, thank you, sir. It's hard
(08:50):
to watch anything again then, you know me. You know,
I watched on a on the plane lovely people to
say that on the way back from Seattle. Um l
A Confidential, which is fucking awesome, great movie. Um it
has what's his face? Yeah spacey Um. He's noting it
that much. He kind of is. But it's like I
(09:12):
can still watch it do I have to not watch
movies anymore than it's all very personal and very individual
to the case. Like you know, somebody might still want
to watch Louis e. K Stand Up, but do not
watch Bill Cosby stand Up. There are different It's just
all very personal thing. I don't think anyone should tell
anyone what to do or how to do it, or
(09:32):
what to watch and who to watch. Yeah, that's my opinion.
I agree. I'm with you. Jennifer fitz Fee says Arrested Development. Yeah, yeah,
that's great. R I p Jessica Walter as Lucille Bluth
among many other great, great roles. She's really good. We'll
learn that so good too. Do you listen to uh
(09:54):
the podcast he does with Bateman and Sean Hayes. I've
seen it pop, but now I have not, Chuck. I
only listened to one podcast, and it's called Pod Yourself
a Gun, a Sopranos podcast. I let to do a
bunch of podcasts. I'll listen to their show some. It's
quite quite lovely. I like it a lot, and they're
a man. They're a top ten stalwart. Now, so good
(10:16):
for those guys. Invite me on for Christ's sake, I
would like to be invited on to pod yourself a gun.
They had Jack O'Brien on, I'm actually Chuck, tell me
if you think this is ghost I think I'm gonna
cold reach out to them and tell them what a
fan I am doing, that I work with Jack and
can I please be a guest that okay? Okay? Cool?
I think people write me and has to be a
(10:37):
movie crush and because I just really, I just I
think i'd be okay because I really love the show
and no, every my new show of every episode, and
I rewatched it every year, and I think a lot
of times they have trouble finding people that are really
in the sopranos, so I could be doing them a solid.
Maybe so and you're you're, you know, semi famous like
the rest of us. Fair enough. Zach Bonner says, has
to be Seinfeld. Jason Roberts says Molder and Elie in
(11:00):
their chemistry, A lot of people are saying the Office
no for good reason. Oh it's it's great, And again
they took that same vibe. It's Greg Daniels, I mean,
isn't it isn't the same show runner that did Parks
and rected at the office. I believe there's I mean
clearly an I for that type of chemistry, because it
really does feel similarly, you know, totally magical. Megan Broyle says,
(11:21):
gotta be Firefly and Buffy Reading maybe a douche Canoe,
but the characters and casts of those shows were awesome. Yeah,
he's he's turned out to be a big jerk to Noel,
good lord, get it together, men, what's your problem? Just
be decent? All right? No, we're gonna move on along too.
(11:53):
I can't remember what we were talking about. I was
talking about Bad Men, because here, here's the secret sauce. Here.
Noel had to stop up the recording for a minute
to tell me something funny that we didn't want you
all to hear. And then I can how could you
do that to them? Chuck? How could you do that?
Now everyone feels excluded. I will say this though I
had nothing to do with with Bad Men. No, definitely not. Um. Yeah,
(12:16):
so we're gonna move on altered this recast a movie
with one character, you know, like who ruined a movie
for you and put someone else in there. I think
I've done this one before, but it's always fun to
go back to Well, that's also part of the reason
I mentioned the whole l a confidential thing because a
thing that comes up in this list a lot is
Kevin Spacey recast him. But it's not because he was
bad in the movie. I mean, we used to love
(12:37):
Kevin Spacey is because he's like a bad man. Uh
So it's like a question, is where's the line? And
I'm you know again, like you said, very personal. But
let's get to the list. I'm interested to hear what
people have to say. Let me see here. Oldest of friends,
Debbie Franka Duckas says Star Wars episode to replace Hayden
Christensen with Matt Lanter. Okay, so he was a voice
(12:58):
actor in Clone Wars. And she says, and my sweet Jesus,
does he have the look? So he must be a
hunky guy, Matt Lanter. I'm looking him up. Yes he is.
He's a he's a piece and all. Oh boy Lantern
l A and T E R. I don't know about him.
Melissa Accountsys Donald Sutherland in the Buffey movie, he looked
(13:18):
like he hated being there. Become my definition of phoning
it in. Well, this is from mysa. Uh, Mickey on MESA.
You didn't recast it? Are you gonna put in there?
That's right, you're forgiven. Holly has his Tom Hanks in
the DaVinci Code series. I pictured Bill Pullman when I
read the books, all right. I only saw one of
(13:40):
those DaVinci Code movies, and I don't know. I didn't.
I didn't like Tom Hanks in that role either. To
be honest, I just don't care about I don't care
about it. The heists, you know, things do it for me.
That's why I didn't. I think that's the only book
on tape I ever listened to my life was when
I moved across country to Los Angeles. I listened to
The Code. Uh it was. It was a fine book
(14:02):
on tape. I enjoyed it. Marty interesting, I totally disagree here.
Marty Willis is Miles Teller in Whip Flash about Miles
Teller was great? Or Miles Teller in Anything? Okay? So
Marty Willis does not like Miles Teller fair enough, it
would seem so, or seem not. Eric Austen says Tom
(14:25):
cruises Jack Reacher. His physical appearance is totally different than
the book character, but his disposition is off too. I
didn't see the Jack Reacher movies. No, wait a minute,
no I did. I watched one because it had Werner
Herzog in it as a baddie had I had. I gotta,
I gotta honor the Verner. Give me, give me something quick.
(14:48):
I don't know if I can right now. Chuck. Oh,
but you have to know I mean good things, goodness, Chuck,
you really I've been telling people about what a thrill
that was. Oh. By the way, I was on my buddy, uh,
my buddy, um Nicholas podcast video Drum Cinema where he
talked about Mandy, which is a movie that I really
loved and I think you like just fine. Uh, some
(15:09):
people really hated, but it's just a favorite of mine
and um he mentioned what how how much he loved
that segment and how the main reason that he loved
it was all of the writing was so spot like.
The Crushers really like slammed it in. It was so good,
very proud of the Crushers. Actually, I'm gonna promote something
real quick. No, I was a guest and Ruby is
(15:29):
so excited because I was a guest on the Story
Pirates podcast. One of the great great kids podcasts that
my good friend Peter McNerney is is on and as
a writer on Uh. He was on the Stuff That
you Know TV show and a close friend and uh
did we know his parenting with us and his great
wife Beth Nowell for a while before they wrapped that
show up, and I was a fan of that show.
(15:50):
But uh, for parents with kids or whatever. Uncle Chuck
is on Story Pirates. I think it's being that will
have been out for about a week and a half
by the time this comes out, And don't know what
the episode is called, but it's about a whale who
hosts concerts and it's belly but is afraid to ask
people to come to the concerts because the whale has
bad breath. And I am that, well, oh that's so fun.
(16:12):
So you just they just give you a script and
you just sort of really red the lines and they
like walk you through it or how's that's the process.
He sent me the script and Peter got on his
zom with me and was my director and was a
really great director. He's very funny guy. So he I
was a little nervous. I was like, do I do
a voice? Like, do I really put on a thing?
And he sort of we sort of just did a
very moby version of me, like slightly exaggerated, but I huge, big,
(16:36):
weird thing. Are they going to pitch your voice? Do
you think? Are they gonna what pitch your voice? Like
make your voice lower? Don't think so. I think he
just liked it like it was. I think it was
just sort of like that. It's mean a little. I
can't wait to check that out, man, I have to
do that. I will definitely listen to a children's podcast
on my very own just to hear your performance. It was.
(16:57):
It was a lot of fun. And I enjoyed that
bit of voice acting because I don't get to do
that much. And it's Ruby's favorite show, so she is
really stoked. That's way cool, dude. And you know the
deal with Story Pirates is it's a kids write the
stories and then they send them in and they profession
have professional actors and then assholes like me um acted
out and they put music to it and stuff. So
(17:18):
it's it's really a lot of fun. That's awesome, good stuff. Uh.
Stephanie Stevens Stork, great name Triples. I love it. I
love the book The Shining, but absolutely hated Jack Nicholson
and Shelly d. Ball in those roles. I'm not sure
he be maybe Warren Beatty and Sissy space Sure. I
mean that that that would be a reasonable analog Sissy
(17:40):
SPACEK would have been great. Yeah, I actually I think that, Uh,
she's a little over the top though. Oh I did disagree.
I thought she was okay, all right, she's she's good.
You're right, but no, hey, if you don't, you know,
if you thought she was a little much, I enjoy it.
But I'm just saying I could see how to some
that might just be a little cringe Chnickeolas is over
the top two and the whole fucking movies over the top.
(18:02):
You know what are we talking about? Yeah, that's true.
He is very much Troy Nolans has pretty much anything
with Nicolas Cage heresy. You can't stand him. But I
made her watch Mandy and she kind of got it.
He's like, Okay, I can see how that was using
Nicolas Cage properly. I also we watched um adaptation and
she liked that too, But she just in general despises
(18:23):
Nicolas Cage. Oh you know, I did book that director
of Nicolas Cage movie that guy's coming on which one,
which which which movie? I can't remember the name of it,
but it's it's He said, it's not coming out until
later in the summer, and what I mind pushing the
recording too closer to that And I was like, no,
that'd be great, as long as you'll tell me some
Nicolas Cage stories and he said he would. That's awesome.
(18:47):
Mary Morales is Jack Black in the Holiday? Uh? Maybe
Adam Driver or someone who doesn't know he's hot, but
way more attractive than Jack. Oh that breaks my couch.
I love Jack Black, and I think he's too plenty
handsome because I don't look Jube different neither. Do you know?
It's true. We gotta go to bed for our nuts.
(19:11):
Brown here a Huskies. The Tenacious is a fun follow
as his Jack Black and Calcinane on Instagram. It's fun, dude.
Jack Black's Instagram is amazing. He has his own like
personal videographer. They're always making these Yeah, dude, he has
this guy. You can follow him too, um and they
make all these amazing like after effects videos of him
just like prancing around his insane mansion backyard and he's
(19:34):
like in his like speedo wearing like Captain America masks
and ship. It's so great he's he gives us. He
gives me a lot of encouragement to his like shed
that shirt and just own it. Agreed. Probably never gonna
do it, but nice to see. Uh let me see here.
Andrea Himmon says, the horrible acting of Jake Lloyd and
(19:56):
the Phantom Menace. He practically skipped his way to la
Law through the movie. Hailey. Joel Osmond would have been
good in the role. I could see that he's a
good actor. This is the pre Darth Vader character. No,
that's Hayden Christensen. Who's Jake Lloyd? He he was? He
was baby? Uh oh, yes, the little yes baby Anakin,
little little little Anakin. L I l there's a lot
(20:20):
of people trying to recast Star Wars ar Old pal.
Jeff Noel says Star Wars prequels recast Hayden Christensen with
Tom Hitteleston, same age, better actor, good with a sword. Yeah,
that's a really good call and he's getting a lot
of support there. Tom Hittleston is Anakin. Sure, he located
it up pretty good. Uh. And then let's finish up
(20:42):
with this one. Autumn. Joe Fletcher says Spring Breakers watch recently,
and while I didn't really care for it altogether, James
Franco's character, I mean literally laughing. I'm sure there's someone
who could have done it better. I can't imagine. Did
you see where Seth Rogan basically said I'm not gonna
work with him anymore? I did, I did pretty hardcore.
I didn't realize there were new allegations. He'd been sort
(21:04):
of like talked about for a while as having done
some questionable things, and then I read there was a
recent thing that was tied to like an acting school
that he founded, where he was apparently funneling like young,
uh you know, actors, up and coming actors to do weird,
you know, un inappropriate stuff with him in exchange for
supposedly being offered like movie roles, which is the worst
(21:25):
type of uh what's the word exploitation when you're like
capitalizing on someone's hopes and dreams, which obviously happens in
Hollywood all the time. And it's the same with the
Kevin Spacer story and the Brian Singer right like the
director or whatever we're doing with a lot of young
you know, um new to Hollywood people who you know,
he promises the sun in the moon too. It's just
(21:46):
about getting them into a hot tub. You know, it's
just that gross. It is gross, and uh, I guess
it's a power thing because like James Spader, just just
go out and get laid. You're James Spader. Why do
you need to do this? And I think that's the
James Franco. What I say, James Spader, Yeah, he should
go out and get late to Actually, I think James,
(22:06):
I think James Spader is okay. I think you know,
I think he just meant you know, I mean, you
can encourage everyone to go out and get laid today.
That's uh, that's on my T shirt. Um. But no,
like I'm saying, it's got to be a power trip.
That must be what that's all about, which is it
makes it all even worse and more gross. But yeah,
good for Seth Rogan. You know, I'm sure he's had
(22:27):
a reckoning with his his I'm sure. I don't know.
I was about to see a former friend who knows
what's going on behind It's it's hard to say, but
did you did you mention or see the the picture
that you posted or he shaved and stuff, and like
wasn't wearing glasses and he looks like a completely different person.
I did. He also had a bit of a mullet.
And then there are a lot of people saying, like,
that's not even him. I know. I saw that too.
(22:49):
I really kind of believe them. But then I looked
it up and it was an official, uh picture from
the set of this show that he's working. Yeah, I
think he just he just I think people forget what
he looks like, because to me, he looked like Seth
with a mullet. I was thrown. I was thrown for
a loop. And but the thing is that it's not
like he ever he rocks a full beard most of
the time. He usually just kind of has stubble kind
(23:09):
of right or like heavy stubble, heavy stubble to light beard. Yeah,
I think so. Yeah. Yeah, I'm just saying that it's
much more of a transformation when a fully bearded individual
shaves their entire beard. Right, Like when I shaved my
beard at the beginning of the pandemic, I looked weird
and your daughter didn't care for it. If I'm not mistaken,
she did not not like it at first, But then
(23:31):
she was fine, that's good. It's a Noel. I'm gonna
move on to our final segment today. This is from
Scott Schneider uh from the movie Crushers. He said best
ensemble cast in a movie, and he goes with twelve
(23:52):
years of Slave, great cast. I I haven't seen that,
but that is a great cast. And no, if you
haven't noticed, this is a themed episode all about casting.
I guess I should have said that at the beginning. Huh,
it doesn't matter, you're saying it now. Um, I you
know that's it's it's a movie. It's hard to say
you enjoyed, but it's because it's very heavy and a
(24:14):
lot of horrible things happen, but it ultimately has a
really really beautiful, uplifting ending and I think it's just great. Yeah.
And I gotta say ensemble. That word, to me implies
a little something different than just total cast in a movie.
Think means they interact with each other all. Yeah, Like
you wouldn't say die Hards ensemble, but you would say
the Royal Stanton Bombs ensemble, like and contres our old
(24:37):
friend voted for that one. Yeah, I think it requires
tour to be an ensemble cast that they like are
in the scenes together like almost all the time. Yeah,
I think so. I think that's the jam. I was
about to say this one, but Joel Kron points out,
of course, and I'm sure a lot of other people
will agree that knives out. Oh, it's one of the
(24:57):
best ensembles. And the Ocean movies and every Wes Anderson movie.
He says, I recently rewatched Oceans eleven and I just
think it's so fucking funny. It's a lot of fun
I like that movie a lot. The Scott con and
uh Casey of Fleck, they're great, two brothers that are
always fighting. Yeah, I love those guys in that. And
(25:21):
Elliott gould Man. It's just so good. Matt Damon's awesome
Cheatles great. I love cheetles accent. If you don't like it,
then I'm sorry because it's one of the great funny
accents of all time, totally. I also, it was the
first time I ever understood the concept of Cockney rhyming slang.
Where he goes, We're in Bonnie rubble Bonnie rubble trouble,
(25:44):
my my British best friend, justin. We'll throw it out
every now and then as a joke, and I'm always
trying to figure it out. Jordan Frey or Fry this
tropic thunder, Ben Stiller, Jack black Downey Jr. J Barushill
Barrichelle was pronounced. I'm not sure. Steve Coogan, Danny McBride,
Bill Hayter, Nicknolty, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Cruise. Yeah, that's a
(26:05):
stack cast. I enjoyed that, but I never really wanted
to see it again. Same you didn't know. Wasn't one
of your like faves. M Jonah Cassie says cast away.
I think that's a joke. I think I think it's
a joke. I love the volleyball. That was a great casting. Jonah,
how dare you after I bought you earbuds? That's the guy.
(26:28):
That's the guy man's working with me. He's rolling me.
He's not drolling me because I didn't make this up.
He's drolling Scott Schneider. There you go, let me see.
David Filaming says the Breakfast Club. Uh, Mike, perfect example,
perfect example of an ensemble cast. They're literally sitting at
(26:49):
a table together bantering for like a big portion of
the movie right there on that same room for almost
all of it. Mike or Mick Night. He gave me
a hard time about his name and actually also complimented
me on his name in the pronunciation. They're in pulp fiction,
of course. I don't know if I would call that
(27:10):
an ensemble. It's so weird and well, it's a weird
one though, right, because they do interact a lot a
lot of them. Do you could? Here's a question, can
you have a portion of a cast be an ensemble
cast in a larger movie? Sure, because then I would say,
like knives out, there's the ensemble and then maybe, well,
(27:33):
I'm trying to think of anyone would be outside the
ensemble in that movie. Probably not mhm, because yeah, I
would call them additional players or something. In pulp fiction,
they are only a handful of them interact with each
other at any one time. Then they kind of split
and interact separately and have their own little side stories
kind of. So I don't think that counts. I agree.
(27:53):
David Fleming says, clue yes, David Smith says the usual Suspects. Yeah,
that's great ensemble once again. Kevin Spacey Uh. The definitions
dot Net describes an ensemble cast as being made up
of cast members in which the principal actors and performers
are assigned roughly equal amounts of importance and screens dramatic production.
(28:19):
So I think maybe being in the same room isn't
the issue at all. It's more just like, are they
waited equally like in terms of their problems. So maybe
pulp fiction does count because I think that's right. I
mean Jewels and uh and uh, oh god, what was
Trubolta's name in that I'm blanking Vic Vincent mhmm, Vincent Vega,
(28:40):
not Vic Vega that was and the other movie. There's
certainly you could argue that they're the lead. Yeah, but
I would say maybe that is an ensemble. No, I
think so. But but like, like here's a big list.
If The Oceans eleven, Gosford Park shortcuts, any of the
Avengers movies would be considered that a bad the bad
(29:00):
crash Um the Roryal Tannebaum's Nashville exactly, any Robert Altman movie.
You're damn right, damn right, damn right, Son Brandon Read
Brandon surg most Paul Thomas Anderson movies, and David Smith
both say boogie nights. Uh. Speaking of p t A
that I would say that's certainly an ensemble. Sin City. Yeah,
(29:23):
I like that movie that first Heat. Nate Lindberg says
The Player, another Altman film. I love The Player. That
movie is such a good representation of like Hollywood snark
and just kind of it was before Curb Your Enthusiasm,
But it like does the thing the same thing Curb does,
kind of where it's like real people playing themselves and
(29:44):
kind of asshole versions of themselves, you know what I mean,
like in Hollywood. Yeah, like we do on this show.
So let me see here. Tony Kimbel says Glenn Gary,
Glenn Ross hard to argue Pacino, Jack lm and Alec Baldwin,
Alan Arkin At Harris, Jonathan Price and our nemesis Kevin
Spacey hm hm h. Karen Patrick, do you think he's
(30:07):
ever going to show his face again? I don't know, man,
he might have a hard time getting a job if
he wanted to movie. Maybe he has been trying, I wonder,
to show his face and everyone's like, no, I want
to bunchet m. Karen petrickss clue. Of course, Young Guns,
Dazed and Confused, Knives Out Oceans eleven and if we're
(30:32):
gonna say days and confused. I think we have to
say fast Times at Ridgemont High for sure. Yeah. I
love that movie. Cold Stratton, our old friend and cast member, here,
says Silverado. Remember did you ever see that? It's the
kind of a comedy western, no, very good movie, nol.
I think it was what's his face? That's a Mecca's
(30:55):
Who's the guy that wrote? I think it was Lawrence Kasden,
Got Kevin, Kevin Klein, Scott Glen, Danny Glover, Kevin Costner,
John Cleese, Linda Hunt, Jeff Goldbloom, Brian Dennahy, Rosanna Arquette,
Jeff Fahey, Richard Jenkins. Yeah, that's a great cast. That's
fantastic sneakers. This comes from Dennis Lopez. I saw that
(31:18):
back in the day. I remember that. Yeah, I want
to say River Phoenix. I think that might be right.
It was. Remember it was a little risque, Yeah, River Phoenix.
Mayor McDonald, Redford, Sidney Potier, who, David Strather and Dan Ackroyd,
Ben Kingsley, Timothy bus Bill, James Earl Jones, Stephen Tobolowski.
(31:39):
Are they burglars? What are they? They were hacker types, right?
I can't remember. Yeah, they were hackers, but it wasn't
the movie hackers. It oh a security pro They were
all about breaking into security systems. Yeah, yeah, breaking be
any experts. They were sneakers nol huh. Yeah, but it's
not about shoes. All right, Let's do a couple more
(32:01):
here then get out of town. Will Thomas is the
big chill. Certainly great ensemble covered that with the Lovely
Janie Hadad Tompkins, one of our oldest of friends, the
Lovely Daisy Christina brew bra You says Moonstruck Steele, Magnolias,
the bird cage and the color purple yes on all
the Moonstruck is when you keep pushing me to see
(32:23):
I believe I need to see that one good cag
nous in that one young, good acting cage and still
a little over the top cage. Uh. And let's finish
up with this one. Noel Kelly Burns Brockington, one of
our old friends, says, four weddings in a funeral that
was a good cast. Managed to never see that. I've
(32:45):
never seen that. Oh it's good, it's it's it's a
good movie. It's up the time, but it's um, I
don't like to use word cute, but it is a
kind of a cute little feel good movie. I can't
confirm or deny this, but I remember my dad liked it,
but he was bothered by the fact the first word
in the movie is fuck wait in which movie? And
(33:06):
four weddings in the funeral? Alright, No, that's it for us, right,
I think so. Well. Thanks to everyone for tuning in
and uh participating. As always, the movie Crushers just the
best little corny of the Internet. We love everyone out there,
and uh thanks for checking it out right. Well, let's
just let it heater, just let it go, goodbye. Movie
