Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm Corquadramos. This is the Moment, a new podcast from
my Heart Radio and Radio Bulante Studios, a space for
the conversations we've been having with each other for years
about this country, about our community, about what it means
to live through a time as uncertain as this one.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
So I've actually spent election night with mixed status families
in Arizona who were absolutely crushed by Trump's victory. But
then I spent Inauguration Day at a party hosted by
Latino's directionists who were feeling something completely different. They were
elated by what they imagine was to come. These last
elections in a way confirm something that I've been aware
for a very long time know, and it's this idea

(00:38):
that Latinos are one of the most misunderstood and complex
communities in America. So what that means is that we
need deep conversations to help us understand what's happening. So
our new show, The Moment will be the home for
those conversations.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
But it's not a single day that Baa and I
don't call or text each other, sharing news and thoughts
about what's happening in the The new podcast will be
a way to make that ongoing intergenerational conversation. Probably we'll
be interviewing some of the most significant voices in America today.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Do you ever feel demoralized?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
I might personally lose hope, but there's an institution that
doesn't lose it, and that's what I believe. Politicians, activists.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I would be the first immigrant mayor in generations, but
forty percent of New Yorkers were born outside of this country.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I've always presented myself as American first, recognizing that America kins,
the people that I care so much about, are in
a different situation than we've been in the past.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Thinkers, writers, artists. Why did I allow that to happen?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Why did we all allow this?

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Because we didn't have data. We didn't know that we
were twenty percent of the population, that we contribute four
trillion dollars to the GDP. So is, so, how did
you talk about drugs or sex or equal sex? Sex? Right?

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I known as conversation with a father and a daughter
to curious journalists, at times fighting to ask the next question.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Smarter, tougher questions. I come from a place of deep
curiosity about who we are and what it means to
be us.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
In this moment, so you know my story. For thirty
eight years, I was a nightly news anchor, part of
a team whose job it was to report from across
the US to inform a Spanish speaking Latino audience. Now
I'm an independent journalist, preven by a mission to help
our community make sense of this complicated counts.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
So we hope that you'll join us. Listen to the
Moment with Ramos and Paul Ramos the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
