You don't know what's happened.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
I'm little just combobulated.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
All right, all right, I'm looking around the studio. I'm like,
are you looking for Angela anything? They were like, what
furniture do you need? We have nothing?

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Oh a lot of it is this MIRI but the
mirror that's a true unique, amazing.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
I need to I've had these flowers in.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Here since they look good on camera the day we started.
They say, way up, we have our Spirit of Detroit Award.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
Shout out to Mary Sheffield.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
That's about it, and you also have some other flowers
behind it that need to be.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, I think it's time to do some interior design.
You love that because oh we have is bags of
stuff in the corner. Sheese itself everywhere. I don't have
any place to put anything. If you look underneath this desk.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Right here, there's an ironing board on it there, right.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
How do y'all feel about having too much clutter around?
It bothers me so much, you know it bothers me?

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Yes, I know this.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
At home, I'm always like, Okay, I gotta clean. I
clean up every day.

Speaker 4 (01:29):
Angela cleans up before someone else cleans up.

Speaker 5 (01:31):
Yeah, I clean up. I'll have the housekeeper come once
a month.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
I clean up before she comes because I'm like, I
can't ever see this looking like this. All right, Well,
today we have a really special show for you. We
have tremain Wright joining us. Now. A lot of people
want to get into the cannabis business, the cannabis industry. Well,
she is the chairwoman of the New York State Cannabis
Control Board, and she's going to explain a lot of

(01:55):
the different laws and regulations and a lot of times
you go into these places it's smoke shop? Is it legal?
Do you know what you're buying? Also, how can you
participate in this industry? Maybe you don't have to have
a dispensary, Maybe you don't have to own a farm.
There's many different ways that you can also benefit and
make money from this, all right, So we'll learn a
lot about that. And also we have to look at

(02:17):
marijuana as an industry that because it's such a huge business,
we have to make sure that we're involved in it.
So many people who are black and brown have been
locked up and have had families torn apart and had
to pay all kinds of money and fines and had
all kinds of issues because of the result.

Speaker 5 (02:33):
Of marijuana marijuana laws, and now.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Things have changed. Those same people who I feel like
we're so against it are the same ones that are
now trying to profit off making money off. So we
just have to make sure that we, as usual, stay
informed and get involved. So we're going to talk about
that today, which remain right, but of course we have
to shine a light on them. Eight hundred two nine
two fifty one fifty is a number. Call us up
and let us know who you want to shine a
lot on, spreads and positivity.

Speaker 5 (02:56):
You know how we do it. It's way up with
the Angela yee for sure.

Speaker 6 (03:00):
I'm a shame.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Turn your lights on y'all, spreading love to those who
are doing greatness.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Shine a light, shine the light on. It's time to
shine a light on them.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Yes, you know what time it is. It is time
to shine a light on.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I'm eight hundred two ninety two fifty one fifty is
the number. Now we want to shine a light on
somebody who we actually came across yesterday, me and Jasmine
from the Jasmine brand, right, We were actually cigar shopping.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Yes, we were. One of our friend one of my
friends loved cigars, so we went on a hunt for
cigars yesterday. I don't really know much about cigars, Angela, kind.

Speaker 5 (03:34):
Of don't I did.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I did spend a day in a cigar bar in
Jersey and I did smoke some cigars that day, and
I learned a little bit. But I definitely am not
the person to come to yees.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
So we both were in there like the blind leading
the blind. But we have to shout out, Agore, noel at,
how's the name of off? Duva?

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Dive it off?

Speaker 4 (03:55):
I don't know of Geneva d A v I d
o ff And yeah he's here Manhattan. But the thing
is a gore uh huh. And he helped us out tremendously.
He gave us a little rundown of the dues and
don'ts of cigars and what's a good cigar and pricing
and all that good stuffs.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
Came price anywhere from like five it's like eight hundred.

Speaker 7 (04:18):
Yes, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
I don't even know.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Yes, no, something he was suggesting was like eight hundred.
But it was like a gift thing or whatever. So
but shout out to him. He really helped us out.
So thank you so much. We'll be back there, for sure.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
We were.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
He took us in the what's it called the humidor
a humid or.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I don't know what that room is.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
It's like a glass room right where they have all
the cigars stored. And yeah, so that was interesting. I
was like to be educated on those things. And yep,
what it's like. You know, with cigars, one thing you
have to understand is that you don't inhale it. He
was trying to explain that to you, because you'll definitely
start choking, so.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
You don't smoke it like it's marijuana stuff.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
For all your cigars. Smoke us out there, and that's
what we did yesterday, all right, But who do you
want to shine out a light on eight hundred two
nine fifty one fifty is a number, Elijah, who you
want to sh trying to light on?

Speaker 8 (05:01):
I'm trying to shout a line on my plug though
the owner of the Rollaway, Brooklyn, New York.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Oh love Rollaway?

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Okay is this?

Speaker 1 (05:10):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I hope so?

Speaker 8 (05:11):
Hey, yeah, I think you need that for the for
the opening.

Speaker 7 (05:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:15):
I was there for the grand opening with the Mayor
Eric Adams.

Speaker 8 (05:18):
Oh yeah, definitely.

Speaker 9 (05:19):
So yeah.

Speaker 8 (05:20):
I just wanted to start shout out my plug, you know,
for people in the roller ways going and keeping the
gate community alive in Brooklyn.

Speaker 7 (05:26):
So and you know any black owned businesses out there?

Speaker 1 (05:29):
No, absolutely, And listen, it's been amazing, Like I feel
like they've been extending the roller way.

Speaker 5 (05:35):
It was a pop up, but now it's staying longer.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
It was supposed to be over this month, but I
know it's going to be over in July and maybe
they'll keep it longer.

Speaker 8 (05:42):
Yep, we're going to July thirty first help they'll live
all right?

Speaker 5 (05:46):
Well, thank you, all right?

Speaker 1 (05:48):

She's a personal trip. She did an amazing job on
my event that I have with my a couple of
my friends. And what happened. She came out, she did
her things. She does cheesecakes. I mean, you name it.
There's nothing that she doesn't do that. She does an

(06:20):
amazing job at and I just wanted to let her
know how much we appreciated her.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Oh I wasn't cheesecake right now?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Now, just like food, we like food.

Speaker 5 (06:29):

Speaker 4 (07:01):
Okay, look at all these cakes and she's she's she's

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Right yeah, okay, all right, well.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
Thank you, you're welcome, thank you.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
All right, Well, that would shine a light on him
eight hundred two nineteen fifty one fifty. I remember you
can always leave a message and shine that light when
we come back. We have yet, and let's discuss to
Wendy Williams, her son is concerned. We'll tell you all
the reports that we're hearing. It's way up at the
angela Ye. She's like the to like they angela ye,
like they angela jee.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Man, she's spilling it all.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
This is yet well, all right, this way up at
angela yee.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
I'm angela Ye. Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
Good morning. I'm my own brand.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
And Wendy William's son, Kevin Junior, has done an interview.
He told the US Son exclusively and by the way,
this is his first ever interview, that he has a
lot of issues with Wendy Williams in a circle. He says,
they're taking advantage of her wealth, taking advantage of her fame,
and also taking of her inability to make sound decisions
amidst her battle with severe alcoholism. He said that his

(08:06):
mother's mental and physical health has been in jeopardy ever
since being placed under guardianship last year, and he believes
that those concerns have been pushed to the side because
people are trying to profit from the projects that she's
involved in. Kevin Hunter Junior told the US Sun, I
know there are all sorts of things happening that I know,
in her right mind she would never agree to. As

(08:27):
hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of.
I know that if I'm making sure she is a
person is okay, that is the important thing, all right.
So she was hospitalized, yeah, in New York and that's
confirmed also from her son. And that's really sad to
see how everything has been spiraling out of control.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Yeah. I mean the thing is we're seeing it kind
of in real time too.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Yeah. And while her health may not be great, you know,
he said that she needs to keep on earning income.
He said, in my opinion, that should not be a
priority at all. And whoever has been hired, they are
taking advantage of someone who needs to get better and
her health has declined since she was living with him
in Florida from late twenty twenty one to around the
spring of twenty two, twenty twenty two. He said he

(09:14):
would take her to restaurants and didn't serve alcohol, and
he had her exercising and eating healthier when he was
there with her.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
But she was there with him, so you know, that's
just a difficult thing to see.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
That's your mom. Yeah, all right, Well, hopefully she does
get the help that she needs.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
All right.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Now, Shannon's Sharp, as we know, is leaving Undisputed very soon,
and they're saying the plan is for him to leave
the show once the NBA Finals are over. A lot
of people felt like they saw this coming. Yes, he
had gotten to quite a few arguments with Skim Bayliss,
which was good tv by the way, Yeah, it's good tv.
But I'm sure he felt like, I don't have to deal.

Speaker 4 (09:49):
With this issue, right, you know when he started taking
off his glasses again upset.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Yeah. So now people are speculating over who could be
the potential replacement, and person that they are saying is
Lashawn McCoy. According to Front Office Sports, he's expected to
be given an extended tryout, so that could be interesting
to see.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
All right, I got to look him up. I'm not
familiar with him. Oh you don't know shady m all right? Well,
probably fastening his picture.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Yeah, I'll show you who he is because he's also
been in the blogs.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
Oh yeah, OK, quite a bit.

Speaker 12 (10:19):
Now.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
I also wanted to bring attention to this and I
saw this was going viral. Yesterday Kim Kardashian, she was
on Live with Northwest, and one thing people talked about
was the T shirt that she had on.

Speaker 5 (10:29):
She's worn this ship before.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
You're laughing already because I thought it's Kendall Jenner and
it says Kendall starting five and then it has all
five NBA stars who Kendall has dated.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Yes, Kendall, Jordan Clarks and.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Blake Griffin, Ben Simmons, Kyle Kuzma, and Devin Booker. Yeah,
she has a type oh my gosh, I love But
now she's dating bad bunny, so that's different.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Would you be.

Speaker 5 (10:53):
Offended if that was you?

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Yeah, if you were her and you're dating somebody knew
and then your sister's wearing this T shirt and she
knows it's gonna go viral when she's on Live with
this shirt on the starting five shirt and it has
all five NBA players.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
I think you know the shirt is. It's a funny moment.
I think I'm sure they all all the sisters have
a sense of humor. This is light work compared all
the stuff they have to face. She probably don't care. Okay,
you think you think she cares. She feels the way
about it.

Speaker 5 (11:21):
I couldn't tell you.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
It feels like they be getting a little tight at
each other sometimes. But for sure, again that makes good TV.
Yeah all right, well that is your yet. And when
we come back, we have about last night. These are
the things that we did last night. By the way,
kind of on topic with that, we went to go
eat yesterday and we got an amazing dessert plate. We
did shout out to Ava.

Speaker 5 (11:42):
They came.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
They brought us baklava, orange cake, chocolate mousse, pineapples, grapes, watermelon.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
It was if you know Angela, you know she loves me, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
All kinds of things.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
I was like, man, I'm trying to be good, but
God said indulged.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
All right, it's way up with Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
So about last.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Night last night last night.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
I went down, all right, it is the way up
at Angela yee, Angela yee.

Speaker 5 (12:10):
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Why are you brand on my own brand? Why are
you giggling, Angela?

Speaker 5 (12:15):
Because I'm just laughing about what we're about to talk about.

Speaker 4 (12:18):
Okay, So yeah, that's a fun show.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
If why go ahead, because every day something happens, and
I know for everybody in their lives listening right now,
every day you're like, this is hilarious. All right. So
yesterday me and Jasmine went out to eat, and then
after we went out to eat, Jasmine was like, I
really want to buy some ear rings and I was like, Oh,
the Diamond District is right here. The Diamond District is
this one street in Manhattan where it's and you see

(12:43):
there's like big diamonds on the on these pillars, just
to show it's a diamond District.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
But it's a block where it's like all different jewelry.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Stories, right, And I had never been.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
It's like a mall and everything it's just jewelry, and
so a lot of times when you go there, everybody's
trying to get to the coming to store. I told
her it's like when you go to Miami and you're
on Ocean's all these restaurants and everybody wants you to
come inside. Yeah, they have.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
All these deals.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
But anyway, so I was like, well, let's go to
the Diamond District and you can get some stuff there.
So we get there and they show her these earrings
and they give her a price. They might have said
like two fifty or something for example. She said, yeah,
go ahead, just for example. And Jasmine tells to me
and she's like, you think I should try to get
it cheaper? Angela responds, and I said, yeah, that's what Really,

(13:28):
what they do is they expect you to do that, right.
I feel like, and when you go to the Diamond District,
when you go to Canal Street or wherever, they give
you a price because they know that you're gonna go
and negotiate and as we call it, haggle. Right, And
so what happened Jack?

Speaker 4 (13:42):
So I said, she, you know, Angela gave me the
maybe you should try to talk them down, which makes
me uncomfortable. And so I was like, so can you
go down at all?

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Like eah?

Speaker 4 (13:52):
And she was like yeah, And I think she went
down maybe like one hundred dollars or something.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
It wasn't one hundred dollars, but sure, I think it's
like eighty dollars. Can't remember the exact price, but it
was the way you asked. It was so nice to like,
do you think you could possibly go down?

Speaker 4 (14:06):
It made this and she did and.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
She walked away because she knew you were going to
do that, because that's what you're supposed to do. And
then jasmen trying to haggle even a little bit more.
I did pay cash and say, but listen, every penny
counts now. I did a deep dive, and this deep
dive was how to haggle for almost anything. This is
on kiplinger dot com Personal finance. Right, and learning how

(14:32):
to haggle isn't an invaluable skill. Some people love it
all right, Dan who works with us, he loves haggling prices.
That is his thing.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
He takes pride in it.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yeah, he's like, oh no, forget it, I got this
much off, I did this, I did that, and we're
maybe just not that good at it.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
I do think men, it's a generalization, but I do
think men are better at like negotiating.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
The car dealers ship so uncomfortable. You don't just take
the price that they give you a lot of times,
what I do do is coupon's, Like I always have
some type of I waited something's on or a coupon,
But I don't necessarily haggle. So according to this, there's
some tips that they give you on how to haggle properly,
talk less, listen more, ask open ended questions rather than

(15:11):
ones that might yield an abrupt yes or no. So
they said, do not ask do you have flexibility? And
said say what flexibility do you have?

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Or should say how much can you go? Down?

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Right?

Speaker 4 (15:22):
That's open ended.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
Yeah, that's more open ended. Show confidence as.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
Long as you're like Angela should they say, as long
as you act in a confident manner, people will think
you're confident, even if you're not. Sometimes you'll feel fair
embarrassment or desperation when haggling. But at this, if this
comes across in your voice, you'll be at a disadvantage. Okay, No,
one to walk away. That's important before negotiating. No research

(15:47):
and this is what Dan said up here to our producer.
Research and market conditions and prices. Sell as a product
with a large profit margin and short shelf life usually
have more flexibility with pricing. Timing is key depending on
what it is you're haggling about. Knowing when to haggle
is key, So don't start. Don't if you're at the
start or midway through, it's often a good idea to
hold off until the contract is a month or two.

(16:08):
So if it's like your cell phone contract or your
cable subscription, gotcha, And then consider how the deal looks
from the other side. What are the barriers if you're
going to get rejected? Is it a price that you
would accept? So on and so forth and so yeah.
Well you two takeaways I got from this. I could
have had an open ended question, yep. And also I
could have had a little bit more confidence in my
in my voice. I actually kind of faded back because

(16:31):
I was embarrassed too. I get you over here about
to have it, and let me fade back.

Speaker 4 (16:35):
My business partner haggles on everything, and I just walk
away while he does this thing. Imbarrassed. I'm embarrassed, very incoloring.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
All right, Well that was about last night. Now we
want to know about you guys. Do you enjoy haggling
like our guy Dan up here does and some people
are really really good at it. Can you give us
some tips? I said, don't give up, and also I
do feel like research is important. And also be willing
to walk away because it's the worst You're trying to
haggle and they're not with it, and then you pretend
to walk away and then you got to come back. No,

(17:05):
ma'am ain on to two nine fifty one fifty It
is a number? Are you a haggler? And what's the
best discount that you ever got? Was it worth it?
It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 13 (17:13):
Ye you ride, but way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
All right, it's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here, yes,
and we are talking to you guys about haggling and
how to do it because both of us are not
that great at it.

Speaker 5 (17:29):
But I tell you who is really good at it?

Speaker 4 (17:30):
Oh my mom.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Really when I tell you my mom. First of all,
she's an expert shopper.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
She I know, she's a good shopper.

Speaker 1 (17:37):
The other day I was with her, actually, I went
to go see her at the store. She works at
an Aileen Fisher store, if y'all know the brand Eileen Fish.
So she also works for New York City Transit. But
I was went to go visit her, and then she
was like, oh, come with me down the block to
this other store. So it's a jewelry store. So we
go in there and she's talking to the women and
you know, this piece of jewelry is on sales. So
I'm like, oh, this is cute. My mom's like, oh,

(17:57):
you should get it, so she gets an extra percentage
off her and then she says, you know, if we
have them ship it, there's no tax if we ship
it to New Jersey, Jersey, right, So she wants to
ship it. So then the woman's like, okay, yeah, that'll
save you some money. And then it's only a fifteen
dollars shipping charge. And my mom was like, wait a minute.
She's like, they normally don't make me pay for shipping,
and so you guys can't wave this.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
And then next thing you know, the shipping fee got.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Waved, no tax, and she got an extra ten percent off.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
But she's really good at doing that.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
My mom will go to a store and be like, oh,
it looks like there's a little spot right here, can
I get and they always do it, and then my
dad will just try to switch the tag.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
So I'm I'm too embarrassed to do that. What do
you do when she do? You just sit there while
she does this back and forth.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
I think it's okay when it's your mom, because then
you let us my mom she's so wild, you know,
but thank you for the I can't walk away from
my mom. I walk away from you while you do it,
but I can't walk away from my mom. But it's
very impressive and she's always been really good at it.
So we want to hear about your haggling stories. Leslie
tell us about yours.

Speaker 14 (18:57):
Basically, I pretty much go in to every store and
I negotiate. And there's a model that I call it
is that I love. It's called everything that's negotiable, nothing
is for free.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
So an example, say I'm trying to sell you. Let's
say I'm trying to sell you something. Tell me how
you would haggle with me. All right, that's out two
hundred and fifty dollars.

Speaker 14 (19:18):
I'll tell you what can I talk to the manager,
the emod, the manager on duty, and then the manager
on duty shows up. And then when the manager comes,
I said, hey, can I get it for a fifty buck?
He said I can't go that low?

Speaker 12 (19:31):
How about two hundreds? I said no, how about one hundred?

Speaker 14 (19:34):
And then he says, okay, I said you want it
out of here today?

Speaker 15 (19:37):
Right?

Speaker 6 (19:38):
He said yes.

Speaker 14 (19:39):
I said, it's called cash and carry, right, Okay, I
got the cash. I'll take it out right now about
one hundred bucks, and he gives it to me for
a hundred.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Can I bring you this shit now with me?

Speaker 14 (19:51):
I do it every day all day long.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
I like this. And she sounded like a haggling, so
she's on it.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
Yes, you've done this a million times.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
I can tell everything is negotiable, nothing's free.

Speaker 5 (20:02):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
Thank you, Hayman Ryan.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
How are you?

Speaker 16 (20:07):
I'm good handsling?

Speaker 4 (20:08):
Hey, Jasmin, good morning.

Speaker 1 (20:10):
We want to hear about your haggling skills. Do you
have skills?

Speaker 6 (20:14):
No?

Speaker 16 (20:14):
I am not a haggler whatsoever. I am a very
like shy person. I get embarrassed very easily. So any
type of former rejection I am like no, like, oh
they ruin, And then I definitely agree with you guys,
Like if I'm around people that do like the haggling,
so I'm like, you have to kind of walk away
because I'm here.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
It's like, you know what we should do next time
we're gonna try this, I'm gonna be like, you know,
I really like this, but my budget is X, Y and.

Speaker 5 (20:40):
Z, so can you do it for that price?

Speaker 4 (20:42):
That's good?

Speaker 5 (20:43):
That's good, right, because then that's just say.

Speaker 16 (20:46):
But then they're like no, and then you're just like, well,
I don't know what to do now, so I'm just go
ahead and walk with you.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
I am all right, well, thank you, and then they'll
be like no, wait, miss, come back. But it's worth
a try. Yeah, the thing about being over where were
There's a lot of other stories there too, so you
have options.

Speaker 5 (21:02):
It's always great when you have options. Then you can haggle.

Speaker 16 (21:05):
Right right, See, we'll be missing out on our blessings
and we don't want to speak up.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yeah, come on, my right, we gotta do it exactly
all right, thank you. She's like hell no, hey, Pasha,
how are you?

Speaker 12 (21:23):
How are you talk to you?

Speaker 9 (21:26):
How?

Speaker 8 (21:26):
Ay?

Speaker 1 (21:26):
So let me tell us your story about haggling. I
heard you save some money.

Speaker 12 (21:30):
Yes, I love to haggle. I'm going to haggle. I
love a good discount. Yeah. So I was quoted with
a vehicle, I'm the saby Bin and the price tag
was twelve five and I got it for ten.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
That's good.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
That's an amazing discount. You say, twenty five hundred dollars.

Speaker 12 (21:46):
You better know it.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
So tell us what your technique is.

Speaker 12 (21:49):
Like, Oh yeah, so what I did was. I just
kept talking and like, you know, so you know I
don't have it like that.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
This is what I have and what I have.

Speaker 12 (21:57):
I guess you probably just really wanted to so you
know that's not with me. And if he was willing
to come down to where I wasn't willing to go
up anymore, then let's do it. And we made it happen.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
That's dope. That's why he was a motivated seller, and
you were able to take advantage of that and get
to the to the price that you needed it to be.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
He said, this is what I have, right, and.

Speaker 12 (22:16):
He like and I'm, you know, pretty sincarre about it,
even though I could have that. But I know that
my dad sold hard forever, so I knew they were
to discount in there. It was wiggle on hear it?

Speaker 1 (22:27):
Okay, selet she was an educated consumer. On top of that, she.

Speaker 12 (22:31):
Was exactly a lot of people taught me everything.

Speaker 13 (22:34):
I know.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
We love to try.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
All right, thank you, I'll see you out there soon.

Speaker 12 (22:40):
You're talking to you you too?

Speaker 5 (22:41):
Hello?

Speaker 17 (22:42):
Is this.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Angel?

Speaker 5 (22:45):
Would you like to haggle?

Speaker 18 (22:47):
I haggle with everything everything. If I borrow money from you,
I might hag you down to pay you back left.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Oh my god, I tell you right now, that's not
gonna work. So tell me how you would do it though.
Let's just say you borrowed one hundred dollars for me.
I want my money, alright, Look.

Speaker 18 (23:01):
I give you twenty dollars. Every somebody get paid.

Speaker 5 (23:03):
Okay, so five times you're gonna give me twenty dollars.

Speaker 18 (23:06):
Yeah, and I'm gonna extend it every time. Every time
I come up, y' I got you.

Speaker 6 (23:09):
Next time.

Speaker 19 (23:10):
My problem, Like I did my water bill.

Speaker 18 (23:14):
Let me tell you how bad it is. Right, I
went to dr with my homeboys, and you know what
we're doing?

Speaker 1 (23:18):
Dr Lord, Oh my god, not assume we know what
do you do?

Speaker 4 (23:23):
What do you do in d R? Please you don't
be specific.

Speaker 18 (23:26):
Yeah, look, you know, a couple of dollars gets you
a couple of things. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Okay, go ahead, gosh, yeah, I'm out there.

Speaker 9 (23:33):
I did.

Speaker 18 (23:34):
I did. All the girls. They knew me in the
whole island.

Speaker 6 (23:36):
They was like, oh, hey, you get what you paid.

Speaker 18 (23:42):
Hey, listen, I had a good time and I'll save
you some money.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Okay. You should be ashamed of yourself with that last one.

Speaker 17 (23:47):
I know.

Speaker 4 (23:49):
A nerve.

Speaker 1 (23:50):
He's gonna he's gonna put off paying me back so
he can go to DR.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Right, thank you TP, TP.

Speaker 18 (23:55):
Have a good one, y'all.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
You too, All right?

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Well, I think Jasu and we learned a lot today.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
We did.

Speaker 1 (24:00):
We definitely have to learn how to negotiate, even if
it's in DR for some favors. Yeah, all right, when
we come back, we do have a yet, and let's
talk about some new music. What Superstar did announce that
they have an album coming out. They haven't had an
album out in five years. With Angela Yee, they say.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
From Industry Shade to all the gossip out, Angela feeling.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
All right, It is way up with Angela Yee. I'm
Angela Yee. And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.
Good morning Angela, Good morning Jasmine. And first we want
to send some love to to change. He is mourning
the loss of his dog. That's not easy. Have you
ever had a pet?

Speaker 9 (24:44):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (24:44):
No, I have not.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
I had two dogs when I was younger, Actually we
had three. We had a dog named sarah O. Then
we had a dog named Marvel, who's a German shepherd.
And then I had a dog named Misty and then
now we have cream and I would be crushed if
something happened to her. I love cream Puff and he said,
can't believe I'm even saying this. Man, I'm crushed like
an MF.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
Man.

Speaker 1 (25:04):
This my heart right here. I've had Trappy Goyard for
ninety years. We have traveled and kicked it all over
the world, and he is no longer here.

Speaker 9 (25:11):
Man.

Speaker 5 (25:12):
Hurt me, no, cap feel like a person passed away.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
I love my dog. He was so smart and laid back.
I was sending you guys some love. I know for
the whole family. That had to be hard, especially for
his kids and our French bulldog. They are the sweetest
dogs and it's so cuddly. They snore, okay, so do pugs,
so do a lot of dogs. But they are so
cuddly and cute and they fart stink all right, right,

(25:36):
all right, Well shout out to Trappy Goillyard into two
chains in his family. One more and you're lost with you, Yes,
all right. Nelly Fortato is back making music. She said
Drake actually told her to boss up. She was talking
to Variety and she has a new single out. Should
I have more gratitude? Nowadays, so I realized how blessed
I am to be a performer and creator. I'm really

(25:57):
leaning into my profession. I met Drake a year ago
and we had some deep conversations about life and art,
and he blew up my head, reminding me what a
valuable artist I am and told me to boss up
and make new music. And I listened, so I couldn't
say no when he invited me on stage, I had
to be brave and boss up and start the next chapter.

Speaker 5 (26:13):
We were just doing.

Speaker 1 (26:14):
A little refresher on some Nelly fatitle songs like a Bird, Yeah,
I'm like a Bird that was my song, and then
a Promiscuous Girl for Miscu Whisker yep, and tim zim me, yeah,
I like that one. All right. Well, here's her new song.
It's called Eacher Man Him and that is each of

(26:40):
Man by uh Nelly, Fortito and dom Dalla. It's their
first music she's put out since twenty seventeen.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Okay, I feel like I'm shopping in Miami, and you see.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
She referenced like a bird in that song.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
All right, Nicki Mina, speaking of new music, hasn't put
out an album since twenty eighteen, and She has announced
on social media the album is coming out October twentieth
of this year. She posted that ten twenty twenty three
the album so hey, I'm read about time.

Speaker 4 (27:09):
Yeah, I'm ready to go. And is it going to
be called the album?

Speaker 5 (27:11):
I guess so, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
She just put the album and so she's definitely put
out a lot of music. Though she's put off some
one off singles, she's done some features, she's done some remixes,
and they've all done really well. So it looks like
this is what's up next. She's on the Barbie album
as well. Okay, all right, and La La has a
new movie coming out. It's called The Perfect Find. It's

(27:34):
going to be on Netflix, and she's working with Gabrielle Union,
who is also a friend of hers. But she also
has been talking about this and anybody who wants to
shoot your shot at La La. She is seemingly open
to dating. Now. Here's what she had to say, you
really are I am.

Speaker 17 (27:52):
I'm just trying to just be more open, you know,
and not have all these like Okay, I can't do this.
It's just like about living and just having fun and
living in the moment. I'm really working on being more
present in the moment, and I'm enjoying that space that
I'm in right now.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
And you're open to being set up, right kind of?

Speaker 17 (28:10):
If I trust the person that kind of set me
up and I feel like they know me, then yes.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
But getting set.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
Up is not scary.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Yeah, yeah, getting set up is scary.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
The best thing I can do is bring you around somebody.
And then if y'all like each other naturally, yeah yeah,
because everybody is like, hook me up a Laala, hook
me up a Lala. You know, she lives in Brooklyn,
so she'd be outside going to places and everybody's like,
what's up a Laala?

Speaker 4 (28:35):
That's Lama.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
And it's hard because you don't want to set somebody up,
and then the guys like trash.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Yeah, and then and then they're blaming you, like why
you didn't tell me this, dude.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Like I didn't know. It's so embarrassing. All right, Well
that is your yet, and when we come back, we
have under the radar. These are the stories that are
not necessarily in the headlines, but they are just as important.
We have two really good ones for y'all today, so
make sure you pay attention it's way you put Angela
yeol news.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
This in the news that relates to you. These stories
are flying under the radar.

Speaker 5 (29:08):
All right, it's the way you put Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
I'm Angela Yee, and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is
here and it's not just.

Speaker 5 (29:15):
It's time for under the radar now.

Speaker 1 (29:17):
Apple had their huge event yesterday where they're talking about
all of the new devices that they have, and the
one thing that everybody is talking about is Apple Vision Pro.
They did a demo here and people were trying out
the new mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro, and a
lot of people are buzzing about this.

Speaker 5 (29:38):
So it's thirty five hundred dollars.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Oh oh.

Speaker 5 (29:41):
It's the first major new.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Product since the Apple Watch, which was back in twenty fourteen,
and people were impressed. But we've heard a lot of
different things about it. They said, it's very heavy, so
it's going to be hard for some people to wear
it for a long time, so it's not for that
type of use. Some people that even had it on
for like thirty minutes felt like it was or ready
too heavy. Now you can look at your apps in

(30:03):
the spaces around you. Okay, so you can use your
eyes and hands to navigate through apps. You can search
with your voices the headset. You can use that to
watch movies, including in three D, and it can also
be used for work with video conferencing apps Microsoft, Microsoft
Office Tools or Adobe light Room.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Okay, well, if it's the only concern is it seems
like you said, is heavy m.

Speaker 1 (30:24):
Hm, and some people got nauseous and dizzy. So here
is here is what happened yesterday, and they're explaining everything
about this Apple new product of Vision Pro.

Speaker 15 (30:36):
When you put on Apple Vision Pro, you see your
world and everything in it. Your favorite apps live right
in front of you, but now they're in your space.
You navigate with your eyes, simply tap to select, flick
to scroll, and use your voice to dictate. Even though
these spatial experiences are happening inside Vision Pro, it looks

(31:00):
and feels like they are physically there. Foundational to Apple
Vision Pro is that you're not isolated from other people.

Speaker 4 (31:07):
When someone else is in the room, you.

Speaker 15 (31:09):
Can see them and they can see you.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
So you navigate with your eyes.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Yeah, or you're and I think you can also use
a knob or something to turn down the sensitivity of it.
If I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
Interesting.

Speaker 16 (31:22):
OK.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
So they're also going to have a new app store
to download the apps that are built specifically for Vision
pro as well as compatible iPad and iPhone apps, and
there's going to be a lot more apps. And this
is actually helping you out all those other apps too.
So once they announce what you can use it with,
and a lot of people are going to be going
ahead and downloading.

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Those Okay, thirty five hundred, All right, would you try it?
I'll try it, would you get it? Would you purchase it?
I think this will be make me nauseous, probably because
I get nauseous kind of easy.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
So they're saying it's going to be here early next year,
so you have some time to think about it and say, Kenny,
you know. And I also find with certain products you
want to see how other people use it first, because
usually when something is the first line and the first
round of it, then you.

Speaker 5 (32:03):
Got to see they got some things they need.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
To tweak, got to work the kinks out.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
Yes, all right, so there's that.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
Now.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
This story I also thought was really interesting for under
the radar. Thousands of women were participating in a sit
in at the Colorado Capital against gun violence, but this
is different.

Speaker 5 (32:19):
These were pretty much all white women all right.

Speaker 1 (32:22):
Now. The Here for the Kids movement, which advocates to
end gun violence, is behind the event, and they said
about two thousand people were among the first together. They
specifically want white women to do this sit in and
participate in the demonstration. Tina Strawn, who is the movement's
co founder, said that black people have always been on
the front lines for social justice, and it's time for
white women to show up. It's time for white women

(32:44):
to put their bodies, their privilege, and their power on
the line to save our kids. And it's something that
they are recognizing that they need to be doing, and
that's why they are showing up, all right. So that
is why you see that these white women are showing up.
Lake bell actress and director Lake Belle, is one of
the thousands of women who are participating in the sit in.
She told ABC News, this is the thing to do,

(33:05):
which is to show up, to make the effort, to
participate in the action of really advocating and demanding for change.
And this is something that I see when it comes
to social justice. Like when they had the Women's March,
it started off as a thing that was really white women.
And then that's when Tamika Mallory, That's when everybody else
came together and was like, yo, we are part of
this too. And so I think now just saying, okay,

(33:26):
we want to make sure that you know, as we're
trying to because a lot more a lot of black
people are affected by gun violence, a lot of people
of color and white women need to be on the
front lines and also make sure that we are stronger together.

Speaker 4 (33:40):
So okay, shout out to here for the kids movement.

Speaker 1 (33:42):
Yeah, here for the kids movement. All right, and that
is your under the radar stories. Now we do have
the Way Up Mixed coming at the top of the hour.
Plus Tremaine Wright, who is the chairwoman of the New
York State Cannabis Control Board, is going to be joining us.
There's a lot of conversations right now about people who
are wanted to get into the cannabis business, people who

(34:03):
are wanting to open dispensaries, get a farm, or somehow participating,
and maybe you don't need to do those things if
you want to make sure that you can profit off
of something that so many people were locked up for
and so many people were given heavy fines for so
many people had marijuana offences on their record. How can
we rectify that and make sure that this money trickles
down to our community.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
While she's going to discuss all of those things.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
When we come back, tremain right is going to be
joining us this morning, and again, let's party.

Speaker 5 (34:30):
It's the way up mix. It's way up at Angela ye.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Sure, she's about to blow the lid abof this spot.
Let's get it.

Speaker 2 (34:36):
Oh, Angela's feeling that yee tea, Come and get the tea.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
All right, it's way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here. Yes, And
you know I look at the Jasmine brand every day
and so I saw you guys posted about Candy Burris. Now.
Candy's mom, Mama Joyce, has never really seemed to like
Todd too much from the beginning of their relationship. They've
always but it has How do you handle it when
your parent does not like your significant other, but clearly

(35:04):
he's here to stay. They've been together for a while now.
They've been married since April of twenty fourteen, and they
have four children in total tour than they share together.
And here is what is going to be happening now
because they've been needed this.

Speaker 4 (35:17):
What are you and your man like?

Speaker 7 (35:19):
What are thes?

Speaker 10 (35:20):
I get one exactly?

Speaker 4 (35:22):
If you get one? Now leave my man alone.

Speaker 10 (35:25):
I think you just got to accept that. I like who,
I like you, and I just think different.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Okay, I agree with that.

Speaker 10 (35:33):
I think that we should go to counseling and it'll
be nice if we could just kind of sit and
talk and try to figure out how to get on
one accord.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
That would be good.

Speaker 5 (35:44):
That's so funny. Mama just was still ill shady.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
She was on a.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
Specific she said. I can agree with that.

Speaker 4 (35:49):
Listen, I don't understand after all these years, she it's
cool that still not like him, but she still talks
about it on camerao.

Speaker 8 (35:55):
I know.

Speaker 1 (35:56):
I mean, I get being overly protective of your daughter.

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Yeah, I understand that, you know.

Speaker 1 (36:01):
And Candy definitely is very financially successful. Yeah, but Todd,
it's not like he doesn't do anything, and he's not
He married through work, right, he worked on he was
he was on a production right, Yeah, he worked in production.
So well.

Speaker 4 (36:13):
Also, at this point, she's not going to leave him
because you think because her mom doesn't think highly of him.

Speaker 5 (36:17):
Yeah, it seems like things are going well.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
So yeah, that's why sometimes it's hard to let somebody know,
like and not that this happened with her, but in general, yep,
if there's ever issues or problems and you tell your
parents or you tell your friend group, and then because
we don't let it go, no one likes them ever
and they don't forgive you.

Speaker 4 (36:36):
Didn't you still back with him?

Speaker 1 (36:37):
Yeah? So all right, Dame dash He was on math
hoffas My Expert Opinion podcast and he was talking about
how he knew that things were over with his partnership
with jay Z and with Rockefeller and all of that,
and this is a very subtle way of knowing that
it's come to an end.

Speaker 19 (36:57):
I knew that Rockefeller was over when they stopped playing poors, like,
you know.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
The other side was like kind of like, we don't
do that no more.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
We've grown, and it was like, I'm kind of over Pauls.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
I know it was such a New York thing, but
I get it, Like you feel like everybody's just looking
like here we go this joke. All right, we get it,
And sometimes it's like the most inappropriate time, but you
can't help it right all right now, Pete Davidson left
an explicit voicemail for the senior VP of cruelty investigations

(37:31):
for Peter and that's because they were upset because he
would not adopt a dog. I guess he bought a
dog from a pet store. Oh, which, by the way,
I've done.

Speaker 6 (37:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
I don't think you're supposed to. I don't think you're
supposed to do that.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
Yeah, I've done that once in the past. But anyway,
here's what he had to say. He told TMZ and
uh that you know he I guess he's alert to dogs.
I don't know if he bought a dog, if he's
a dog. But here's what he said.

Speaker 9 (37:59):
You so much making comments, probably that I didn't adopt
the dogs. I just want to let you know I'm
severely allergic to dogs, so I have to get a
specific breath. And my mom's dogs, who was two years old,
died a week prior and we're all so sad. So
I had to get a specific dog. So why don't
you do your research before you create news story for people?

(38:23):
Because you're a boring kier you.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
And suck my oh my gosh, Pete Davidson.

Speaker 4 (38:33):
He is so funny to me.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Now, he did say it was a poor chasse of words,
and he did tell TMD in a statement his anger
was due to the grief that he and his family
are experiencing in light of their dog passing. Yeah, he said,
I haven't seen my mom and sister cry like that,
and over twenty years. I was trying to cheer up
my family. I was already upset that the store had
filled me without my permission or acknowledgment. That's at City Pups,

(38:56):
he said. Then this organization, Peter made a public example
of us, making our green situation worse. I'm upset. It
was a poor choice of words. I shouldn't have said
what I said, But I'm not sorry for standing up
for myself and my family. Peter be going hard, yo, Listen,
Peter does not play. And yeah, so remember when they
would throw paint on people? Yes?

Speaker 4 (39:15):
Do you remember what they try to get little Kim
about her fur and she was about to fight them.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
Oh my gosh, listen, I don't even know what to say.
I personally don't wear fur.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
Yeah, but did you I don't? Yeah, I don't wear
Did you adopt your dog?

Speaker 15 (39:28):
No?

Speaker 1 (39:28):
That's how I said. It got the dog from the pets. Yeah,
oh yes, she was purchased from a pet store. You
hear that, Peter, Wow? Really, Jasamine, where'd you get that
hair from?

Speaker 4 (39:40):
It's adopted here?

Speaker 5 (39:43):
All right, Well that is your yee tea.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
And when we come back, this was interesting to me
and I just want us to talk about this amongst ourselves.
Bobby's murder. He said he doesn't listen to rap because
it's dangerous to kids. I want to see what you
think about that. Jasmine's way up at the Angela Yee oka.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
Yeah, she back at it. The way up with Angela
Yee is on.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Yes, it's way up with Angela Yee. I'm Angela Yee
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Happy Tuesday, Angela.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yeah, I'm glad. You know what data is fine, I'm
just struggling with that.

Speaker 4 (40:15):
All right.

Speaker 1 (40:16):
Well, Bobby's murder was recently on the Danza Project podcast
and he said that he does not listen to rap
because it's dangerous to kids. Here's what you have to say.

Speaker 19 (40:26):
He got these kids following you, guys. And when these
kids are following you guys and you're rapping about these lifestyles.
It's in dangerous, very detrimental, you know what I'm saying.
It's very dangerous to the communities that these little kids
think that is going on that you did not even live,
you know. And it's supposed to be changing the kids,
like the raps. Like I think rap's supposed to be

(40:46):
telling mother to go from negative to positive, coming from property,
to go into riches and stuff like that, and how
to stay in that and how to change. That's why
I don't listen to rap. The only time I listen
to the rap is when I'm in the club.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Wow. The crazy thing to me is that all rap
is really not like that. I feel like the majority
of it isn't.

Speaker 4 (41:05):
No, so he's saying is like violent? Is that his issue?

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Yeah, and that kids are listening and it's dangerous for
the kids. So only when he goes to the club
he also does, however, like reggae, Okay.

Speaker 4 (41:17):
Well, I don't know what they be saying, so you
be having to interpret for me sometimes what does that
music usually consist of in terms of lyrics?

Speaker 1 (41:24):
I feel like there's just such a wide variety of
what you can choose to listen to. Like, look, I
just posted a clip from when we interviewed Armani White,
and he was talking about, you know, putting his feelings
in his music. He was talking about his father passing
and him taking a break just to deal with his dad,
you know, dying from cancer. And I feel like there's

(41:47):
just such a it's a reflection of what's going on
in the world, and a lot of these kids today
are talking about like what they're dealing with. I don't
feel like it's necessarily just dangerous, but.

Speaker 4 (41:58):
There are lyrics when they talk about ourself, death, shooting, violence, fighting,
you know that exists.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
And he said it was supposed to be telling people
to go from negative to positive, coming from poverty, to
go to riches, how to stay in that, how to
change life.

Speaker 5 (42:11):
He said, that's what I want to hear.

Speaker 1 (42:13):
But I don't know that it's necessarily the genre, you
know what I mean. And I also feel like when
he went to jail and then he came home, it
wasn't like people embraced him the way that they should have.

Speaker 4 (42:25):
You know, you think that you don't think people embrace
them like that.

Speaker 1 (42:28):
I mean kind of, but then people had jokes about
every little thing that he did.

Speaker 4 (42:31):
He was smiling all the time.

Speaker 5 (42:33):
Yeah, and so clearly he was happy to be home.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
And so it could be also just the whole industry
in general, and how it can be very jading. Yes,
is that the right word. Ja, I know you can
get jaded.

Speaker 4 (42:44):
Yeah, I'm jading.

Speaker 1 (42:48):
Yeah, I made it into something else, yes, So yeah,
I mean listen to each his own. He said he
wouldn't even know if somebody was dissing him because he
really doesn't listen to the music to even know if
that's happening. Interesting, But I can't necessarily agree with that,
just because I feel like the music has been in
a space where there's a lot more room for everyone

(43:09):
because of the streaming services that we have, the access
that people have to listen to whoever they choose to.

Speaker 4 (43:15):
Yeah, and so on and so far. I do appreciate
him being concerned about lyrics though. I appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
Yeah, all right, Well, that is just something that we
wanted to talk about with Bobby Schmerda because he's from Brooklyn.
I'm from Brooklyn. I thought it was an interesting take
on a topic. And tremain Wright is going to be
joining us when we come back. She's the chairwoman of
the New York State Cannabis Control Board. There's a lot
of conversations about cannabis, a lot of rules and regulations.
A lot of people don't know if they're going to

(43:44):
an officially licensed marijuana dispensary or if they're just going
to a quote smoke shop that's not even authorized to
sell marijuana.

Speaker 5 (43:52):
So we'll discuss all of those things.

Speaker 1 (43:54):
I know there's a lot of controversy over who's getting
these licenses, how much it costs, how can you be
involved in the business. So she's going to break it
all down for us. Tremain Wright is joining us when
we come back. It's way up at Angela.

Speaker 5 (44:05):
Yee.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
You ride way up with Angela.

Speaker 5 (44:12):
Hey, it's way up at Angela.

Speaker 8 (44:13):
Ye.

Speaker 1 (44:13):
I'm Angela Ye. Jazzman from the Jasmine brand is here. Yes,
I'm sitting here getting all of these scam calls. And
I did a deep dive, okay to find out what's
going on, right, And it says here, if you answer
a scam call, you'll be targeted by even more scammers.
So for people that don't answer unknown calls, like myself,
don't do it. It says answering just one spam call

(44:34):
as a signal to scammers that you are willing to
pick up the phone, so they'll keep calling you, sometimes
from different phone numbers, trying to get you to answer again.

Speaker 4 (44:41):
Well, how did you know that was a scam call
or potential scammer?

Speaker 1 (44:45):
You want to hear the message?

Speaker 4 (44:46):
Uh sure?

Speaker 1 (44:48):
All right? This sounds like an audit, like somebody left
a message that was like a type to text to audio,
a type of message. Okay, and I've been getting a
lot of these. All right here, okay, let's lot that's
the way. Let's play.

Speaker 4 (45:00):
All right, let's listen.

Speaker 1 (45:01):
Okay, okay, come on, play all right, here you go.
I don't know.

Speaker 18 (45:07):
It's not.

Speaker 5 (45:10):
It's not working.

Speaker 4 (45:11):
It's very low, so low. It sounds like they said, oh,
all right, this might work now.

Speaker 7 (45:17):
He called me back, sair daddy.

Speaker 4 (45:21):
Oh this is your dad. This is your dad.

Speaker 5 (45:23):
This is not just dad, this is your daddy. Don't
it sound automatedly?

Speaker 1 (45:25):
One more time? Let's play it one more time. I
don't know who else is having this problem.

Speaker 18 (45:30):
He called me back, said daddy.

Speaker 5 (45:34):
So, first of my dad don't say nothing like that.

Speaker 4 (45:36):
He does not sound anything like that.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
My dad would call me billy, Yo, what up, what
are you doing?

Speaker 5 (45:41):
You have work?

Speaker 1 (45:42):
All right? You will call me back, and he wanted
to and first of you woldn't even leave a voicemail.

Speaker 5 (45:45):
So let's there's that, okay.

Speaker 1 (45:47):
But yeah, so you know, it seems like this has
been a major issue from people getting all these calls.
If you guys are getting these scam calls too, and
things that are likely for because I you said when
it rang, it would be like a little thing that
said that is probably a spam.

Speaker 4 (46:02):
Likely spam.

Speaker 1 (46:03):
Yeah, likely spam. But now I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 4 (46:05):
So interesting. That's a little scary because you feel like
you can you.

Speaker 5 (46:08):
Know, and you can do voice.

Speaker 1 (46:10):
So there's this AI voice cloning that's on the rise
and all these different scams and things. But all and
they said, if a person calls you and they're saying
can you hear me?

Speaker 5 (46:20):
Can you hear me?

Speaker 1 (46:20):
It's those are scam calls too. So I just want
to question everybody. I know, I keep saying this, but
just be really careful about all of these calls that
you're getting. Don't never give out no information, no credit
card information. If somebody's calling you and asking you to
read any type of off the back of your credit
card or what was the what do they give you

(46:42):
the number? When they give you a number, a confirmation number,
or a code, don't ever get those out over the phone.

Speaker 5 (46:48):
Don't give out a pen none of those things over
the phone.

Speaker 1 (46:50):
If you have any questions, if you feel like it's
your bank calling the I R. S, whatever, whatever, hang
up and call the number back that is officially your
bank or your credit card number, not the number that
called you.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
Absolutely.

Speaker 1 (47:03):
I keep seeing so many people getting scam lately, and
they're getting a lot more clever. So just giving you
all that information you care keeps happening to me. But
when we come back, speaking of information, Tremaine Wright is
joining us. She's the chairperson for the New York State
Cannabis Control Board, so she is going to be a
schooling us on all things when it comes to the
business of Mara wanna all right, it's way up with

(47:24):
Angela ye.

Speaker 3 (47:27):
You ride a way up with Angela Yee.

Speaker 5 (47:29):
All right, it's way up at Angela Yee.

Speaker 1 (47:31):
I'm Angela Yee and Jasmine from the Jasmine brand dot
Com is here and we have chairwoman Tremaine Right. Can
I call you that?

Speaker 13 (47:37):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (47:38):
Indeed you can. Okay, all right, now, this is an
important thing, and I know you guys are going to
be so excited to get some really valuable information. But
chairwoman to remain right is the chair for the State
Cannabis Control Board.

Speaker 13 (47:49):
Yes, ma'am, we are here in New York. We're trying
to roll out legalized cannabis. We're working on regulations and
putting the rules together so the people that want licenses
or to open business, or even just to purchase something
that they can reliably trust has been tested and grown
here in the state, all right.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
And whoever would have thought this day would come working
on it for a while. So we've been working on
it for a while.

Speaker 13 (48:14):
I'm gonna tell you what the surprise is, probably for me,
is that we really did get a lot of things
that we were hoping for. We have found a way
to have access points for a lot of people to
enter into this marketplace, and we have found a way
to make sure that we're prioritizing people who were harmed
by their prohibition of cannabis. There's a lot of money
involved in this, and so there was probably an inkling

(48:35):
that we were going to get here, and somebody was
going to take advantage of it, but that we've actually
found a way in New York State to make sure
that the average person has an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (48:44):
I think that's what a little bit of the surprise
and enjoy it. Yeah, and not just the average person.
I mean, statistically, ninety three percent of marijuana arrests were
black and Hispanic people, right, even though we're clearly not
ninety three percent of the population and everyone, I feel
like they all use it. This is the equal rates.
So how do we ensure that this does because we

(49:04):
were most affected by it as far as having to
go to jail, pay fines and different things like that.
And sometimes I've heard people say capital has been a
huge obstacle for people to be able to even partake
in this. So how and what things are happening to
make sure that we can So I'm.

Speaker 13 (49:20):
Gonna say I think the first thing is that the
law that pass has a two tier system.

Speaker 1 (49:25):
So what we've done is we've broken up the market.

Speaker 13 (49:27):
We've said that you cannot have a license to do
everything from grow to sale. We've said you can either
be a grower and processor and do distribution, or you
can operate it on the other side, which is the
retail side, where you can sell directly to the public,
host a consumption space, or do personal delivery, so nobody
can dominate the market.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
Right now, we are talking to tremain Right, the tairperson
for the New York State Cannabis Control Board. I think
the first thing people think is, I want to own
a dispensary, but that is very costly. What are some
of the rules that are in place for people who
own dispensaries or want to get a license for a dispensary.

Speaker 13 (50:04):
So everyone in New York State currently who has a
dispensary license is a conditional dispensary owner. And what we
did in New York States so we can get it
up and running quickly, is our legislatures came back and
they created the conditional program for this state. It's called
Seating Opportunity. We took hemp farmers and gave them conditional
grow licenses as well as processing, and then we said

(50:25):
people who were harmed by prohibition get the first dispensary licenses,
so they have the conditional dispensaries. We currently have issued
two hundred and fifteen of those licenses, eight of which
went to not for profits and we have about fifteen
stores open in the state currently right and I know
that's not a lot and it's not enough, but that's
what we were doing to get them started. We are

(50:46):
also we have a social equity office, an Office of
Social Equity, and we have a cultivation mentorship program. We
have an incubator program for dispensary owners, and we're developing
what the rest of our equity program looks like. Additionally,
we have a fund that was created by the state

(51:06):
to offer our conditional dispensary licensees funding so that they
can actually build out.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
And that's pier stores. That is the high part. But
is there anything in place just to help with people
who were arrested before have been convicted from marijuana use
or possession.

Speaker 13 (51:23):
Built into our law is a mandate that forty percent
of all of the tax the tax proceeds collected from
cannabis must be reinvested back into communities that were disproportionately
harmed during a prohibition, and that's going to be managed
by the advisory board that's already been constituted here in
our state. They get the opportunity to look at grant

(51:43):
applications and then to distribute those funds. So since we
just started sales, we have not actually distributed any grants.
But we're starting to talk to local communities and say, hey,
what would it look like for an investment in your community?

Speaker 1 (51:56):
What do you need money for.

Speaker 13 (51:57):
Sometimes it looks like a loan fund so that people
can buy homes or open businesses. Sometimes it looks like
rebuilding places that have been abandoned so that people can
live there. So we really have a lot of opportunity
to decide what it looks like. But additionally, in our law,
we always prioritize people who've been harmed and come from
communities that have been harmed.

Speaker 1 (52:17):
Right now we are talking to Tremaine right, the chairperson
for the New York State Cannabis Control Board.

Speaker 4 (52:21):
I'm not familiar with the process to actually get a license.
What is the process? I mean just in high level,
don't have to go detail, but what's the process of it.

Speaker 13 (52:27):
So we're still working on it actually, and we just
issued our second draft of the regulations about a week ago,
and it is going to be an application form with
very simple requests of from personal information and we'll also
ask you for your operating procedures so that we know
that you know and understand how to keep your workers safe,
your customers safe, the products clean and uncontaminated, so that

(52:53):
it's it's a good experience for all New Yorkers essentially.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
Now, what about all of these smoke shops that we
see everywhere where? You can go in and ask for
as some weed, but they're not licensed for that, right,
and I see all over the place they're not.

Speaker 16 (53:06):
Really.

Speaker 4 (53:07):
I also see people like this is more of an
out of state but they you buy like a sticker
and then you get like and.

Speaker 1 (53:12):
That's illegal in New York State as well.

Speaker 13 (53:15):
So one, you do not get to trade cannabis for
anything in New York State unless you have a license.

Speaker 1 (53:21):
We have recently had.

Speaker 13 (53:22):
An enforcement bill that was passed by our state legislature.
Now we have the right to go in and to
actually enforce against people who we have not licensed. So
originally the law said you get to regulate the people
you give licenses to. They realized all of this was
popping up. It hasn't happened in any other state like this.

Speaker 1 (53:39):
Yes, New York. I was gonna say New York is different.
IVE never seen so many snow shots ever. So now
we can go in and enforce against them.

Speaker 13 (53:46):
We can seize product that is presented as cannabis whether
or not it's actually cannabis, because a lot of these
products are laced with other things.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
Yeah, that's the danger that you don't know what it is. Yeah,
And the problem is that people will go there because
it's less expensive and going to some place that is licensed.

Speaker 13 (54:03):
And I'm going to say the prices are not that different.
So if you are considering making a purchase, please go
to one of our licensed facilities, because the product is well,
it has been tested. It is sun grown product, and
I believe believe me here y'all.

Speaker 1 (54:18):
It's been a good crop season, so we.

Speaker 4 (54:20):
Have good products season if the weather's done for the
growing like what.

Speaker 1 (54:26):
Is So the outcomes are good.

Speaker 13 (54:27):
Okay, they've had tremendous produce. They are producing great products.
And I think that if people actually go and just
try it, they will realize that you know what this
is the I'm able to achieve the thing that I
wanted with this product.

Speaker 4 (54:40):
So I have I have bad cramps and so I
lived in LA for years and I would go to
the We have lots of dispensaries in LA, and I
would go to get these drops that were really helpful. Yeah,
and that and that was more like for a pain thing.
But I also smoke too, but it was very good
for like cramps and people that had cancer. What we
would all come to the same place and get, you know,
what was helpful was like medicine to us.

Speaker 13 (55:00):
And so we've expanded our medical program so if people
do want they have some medical conversations and they want
to have something a little bit more sophisticated, or if
they need a product blend that's not available in the use,
it is available in our medical program.

Speaker 1 (55:13):
We're talking to Tremaine Riety is the chairperson for the
New York State Cannabis Control Board, And when we come back,
we have some more find out how you can get
involved in this business of cannabis. It's way up at

and you went to the dispensary that was legal and oops,
I didn't realize I couldn't bring this. Then it's a
federal issue because those are.

Speaker 13 (58:12):
I'm not saying, you know, I'm going to say, I'm
glad it was an accident.

Speaker 5 (58:17):
You don't have to take any.

Speaker 4 (58:18):
Mistakes like I don't just beyond me at this point,
I got to do with that because.

Speaker 13 (58:26):
I don't want you to land in the state that's
not so friendly, right, Yeah, we're friendly here clearly now
when it comes to other businesses that you can get
into that have to do a marijuana because I always
tell people there's a lot that you can do around
that you don't have to think about just being yeah, dispensary,
or you don't have to think about just growing.

Speaker 1 (58:43):
There's other things that you can do. Let's talk about
other opportunities.

Speaker 13 (58:46):
This is what excites me about cannabis because I think
that this is where we are going to see New
York just take flight. Currently, we have one store that
just opens, which is a home furnishing store. It's a
cannabis retailer. But if it's home furnishing and it's an
experience and you walk in, why because how do you
live your life with cannabis? When you want something that's
going to revive you or make you feel relaxed. You

(59:07):
want to see colors, you want to have sensations. That's
what life is about. So how do I incorporate it
into the business that I already do. If I'm a cleaner,
I want to clean the spaces that sell cannabis. If
I'm a marketer, I want to market your cannabis. If
I do communications, I want to create the communications package
that you're going to use for social media and for print.

Speaker 1 (59:28):
I want to make.

Speaker 13 (59:28):
Sure that we're growing the spaces that we are already
in before we think about picking up something new. People
that deal in that manage food businesses. I was going
to say, they can do any brothers and blends. I
was going to say I was going to somebody's juice
bar regularly up until my schedule didn't permit.

Speaker 1 (59:47):
And you can imagine juice.

Speaker 13 (59:49):
Being in the space where it's juiced into the blend,
into the coffee. We have a whole host of wellness
and beauty people who are already working on products, Like
I was just at an expo here a few blocks
away and it was talking about how luxuries meeting cannabis,
and it was all about products that are going to
make your life better.

Speaker 1 (01:00:10):
Right now, we are talking to Tremaine right, the chairperson
for the New York State Cannabis Control Board. So where
do you see this, say, five years from now? What
do you predict?

Speaker 13 (01:00:19):
So I like to think that in ten years we're
going to see federal legalization, but I'd say in five years.

Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
What I'm thinking here in New York, we have.

Speaker 13 (01:00:28):
A robust market by that time, and what I'm imagining
is that we have started to define what a New
York experience looks like with cannabis. I think that we're
going to see a lot of consumption spaces, and I
think that we're going to start to define the same
way we defined, say the consumption of liquor and music
with our club scene, and I think we're going to

(01:00:50):
start to see something similar in the with that utilized.

Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
Cannabis, Like coffee shops in Amsterdam. Yes, because I've definitely
been to some of those, and that's so long. You
can't have liquor, and you can't have liquor and cannabis.
You can't. However, there's a whole product.

Speaker 13 (01:01:06):
There are so many product lines at this moment that
do sophisticated cocktails without any alcohol in it.

Speaker 1 (01:01:12):
Because I know people who are like, I smoke, but
I don't really drink like that.

Speaker 4 (01:01:15):
Yeah you know some people.

Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
Yeah, some people usually do either or yeah both of them.
Is like, okay, you're going over crazy now, all right, Well,
I'm glad that you came up here to get all
of these things out, just because I know there's so
many questions about it, and I do want to encourage
people if you're not in the position right now to
be able to get a dispensary. There's other things like
you said that you can do. You know, you can market.

(01:01:39):
You can also come up with products that people can use.
If you have a delivery service, there's a way that
you can also partake in delivery if you do online.
You know that people are going to need all of
those different services, and so it's a perfect time if
you're an entrepreneur to come up with some ways to
incorporate and take part in this business.

Speaker 8 (01:01:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 13 (01:01:57):
I would just want to also encourage people go to
our website cannabis dot ny dot gov. They can get
information on our proposed regulations, any guidance that's available if
people want to talk to their kids about cannabis and
try to develop what that language looks like. We have
tools for parents on there as well. We're running a
why bi legal campaign. It'll help our communities that are

(01:02:19):
concerned with the oversaturation of these smoke shops. How do
they address it and how do they educate one another
so that people know what to look for so if
they're not going into these spaces, so that we can
make sure that people are not getting sick.

Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
All right, Well, thank you so much, chair women, tremain right,
We really appreciate it. We're going to keep on checking
in with you if there's any big news or things happening,
just because I like to go right to the source.
Thank you, and I'm available in time and when we
come back, we have ask ye. Eight hundred two ninety
two fifty one fifty is a number if there's any
questions that you have. It could be about relationships, friendships,

(01:02:51):
work problems, whatever it is, We're here to help. It's
way up at Angela Yee?

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
Are going everybody sens with its relationship with career advice.

Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
Angela's dropping facts.

Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
What's up? Its way up at Angela Yee. I'm Angela Ye.
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here. I'm here, Angela.
You look very elegant. I might add, thank you, and
it's time for ask ye. Eight hundred two nineteen fifty
one fifty is a number. Hello, who's this Tony?

Speaker 5 (01:03:19):
Tony?

Speaker 1 (01:03:19):
What's good? What's your question?

Speaker 18 (01:03:22):
So I want to know how to deal with my
wife's ex husband or baby daddy.

Speaker 19 (01:03:27):
The co parent.

Speaker 18 (01:03:28):
Okay, he's a narcissist.

Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
Those are the worst.

Speaker 18 (01:03:31):
So he does the minimum and act like it's the
greatest things in the world, like of course, it's pom season. Yeah,
he rented a suit and won't shut up about it.

Speaker 3 (01:03:43):
He gets my.

Speaker 18 (01:03:44):
Sons, it's three of them, four days out of a month,
and they just sit in the house, oh sugar, and
acts like that. Yeahs now, my wife, my wife is
okay with it. I'm not and I'll never be. And
that's me and my wife's issue. And that's the biggest
help I.

Speaker 3 (01:04:02):
Need right now.

Speaker 1 (01:04:04):
Well, first of all, so these are her children, but
you treat them as though they're your own, right.

Speaker 11 (01:04:10):
Yes they are, man, I'm raising boys to me, Okay, Yes,
these are your children.

Speaker 1 (01:04:14):
And I will say this, it's really more her responsibility
to handle what her ex does when he spends time
with the kids, and she can't necessarily dictate if they
sit in the house.

Speaker 17 (01:04:25):
She can.

Speaker 1 (01:04:26):
It's just hard, like you can do what you can
do on your end, but you can't tell the other
parent how to parent the kids necessarily because that's always
going to cause friction, right, And so all I can
tell you to do is to do the best that
you can when it comes to the kids. I think
sometimes approach can be really instrumental because if you go

(01:04:46):
in there combative.

Speaker 4 (01:04:48):
Right, Yeah, with her ex, that's not gonna be helpful.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
It's not helpful. It's gonna make him defensive, it's gonna
make him keep doing whatever it is that he's doing.
He probably also kind of enjoys being combative with you
and being like, see, you told you so, and if
she's not.

Speaker 18 (01:05:04):
Right at all, yeah, and he makes them feel bad
about when they try and say something to him.

Speaker 1 (01:05:10):
You know, it feels like this is something that your
wife really needs to take on because this is her
ex relationship.

Speaker 4 (01:05:16):
But he's saying his wife doesn't have an issue with it,
but he does.

Speaker 3 (01:05:19):
He does, he does.

Speaker 1 (01:05:20):
She does have an issue if he has one, and
it seems like she has to take it more seriously.
She's got to learn how to figure out that situation
better because it's going.

Speaker 5 (01:05:30):
To continue to be a problem for the two of you.

Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
And it sucks when there's somebody that's on the outside
of the relationship that can affect your relationship so strongly.

Speaker 5 (01:05:37):
But there's children involved.

Speaker 1 (01:05:38):
Here, yes, and so it feels like between the two
of you, you and your wife, you guys need to
come together as a team because y'all are supposed to
be a team, correct, yes, ma'am? All right, Well, now,
it's time to put that teamwork into action. How can
we handle this together?

Speaker 18 (01:05:52):
That's what I'm talking to you.

Speaker 5 (01:05:53):
I need help on how to handle it together.

Speaker 18 (01:05:56):
So it's hard, it's hard for me to get to
a therapist because of our schedules.

Speaker 1 (01:06:02):
Well, you're gonna have to make that a priority. I mean, listen,
you schedule everything else. Work is important, right family is important,
and this seems to be a top priority right now.
So it's time for you to prioritize that. Maybe it's
time to take a couple of days off from work
to focus on this.

Speaker 18 (01:06:17):
Yeah, because I won't feak to my life and I
won't happiness and I won't happiness.

Speaker 4 (01:06:21):
It's amazing. It's amazing that your kid that you, that
your kids have you though.

Speaker 18 (01:06:25):
Thank you. I appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
Mm hmm. So just remember everything is always focused on
for the kids. Better for the kids. It's not And
I do feel like she has to hear you out.
If this is an issue for you, it is an
issue for her, Okay, you know, so I would say
prioritize that. I'm glad that you already have contacted somebody
that can help with counseling for the family. But you
have to prioritize that.

Speaker 18 (01:06:48):
Mmm, I think I'm gonna end up trying to try
and better health.

Speaker 1 (01:06:51):
Okay, I go out, I use that.

Speaker 18 (01:06:54):
Yeah, that's what I got it on from you.

Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Oh well, that's good.

Speaker 5 (01:06:58):
I'd like that. You're very pro active when it comes
to everything.

Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
He don't play about his kids. We don't play and
his voice.

Speaker 18 (01:07:05):
No, that's that's just who I am.

Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
All right, Well good, let's let's get that together. Let's
prioritize that. Let's let her know how important it is.
And remember, approach is important too, So it can't be
going in there and feeling like you're always right and
and and attack mode has got to be more like
we a team.

Speaker 5 (01:07:21):
Let's come together, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (01:07:22):
Let's figure out some constructive ways that we can move
forward yonder moving forward, yes, and even counicating with the
kids too, you know, and making sure that you know
in a positive way that whatever support you can give,
you're there for it, and so that they can always
feel free to express themselves to you, because sometimes kids
are kind of scared to say things and feel like

(01:07:44):
they shouldn't be doing that. They don't want to pick
a side. There's all kinds of things that can be happening,
So make sure that you know they can speak to
you without judge and without you judging.

Speaker 3 (01:07:52):
Yes, ma'am, all.

Speaker 5 (01:07:54):
Right, well, thank you. We appreciate you with sending you love.

Speaker 18 (01:07:57):
Thank you. Ladies. Have a wonderful dad, y'all you you too?

Speaker 5 (01:08:01):
He sounds amazing.

Speaker 4 (01:08:02):
Tony is the man?

Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
All right? Well that was Asky And when we come back.
We have last word every day, you guys get the
last word. Eight hundred two nine two fifty fifty. It's
a way up at Angela yee.

Speaker 3 (01:08:12):
Hey, up the phone, tappying to get your voice heard.
What the word he is? The last word on way
up with Angela? Ye?

Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
What's up? Its way up at Angela yee. I'm Angela Yee.
And Jasmine from the Jasmine brand is here.

Speaker 4 (01:08:24):
Hey, Jasmine, Hey girl.

Speaker 1 (01:08:26):
Happy Tuesday? Yes, uh so, a lot going on today.
But again I want to thank Termaine right for joining us.
She is the chairperson for the New York State Cannabis
Control Board. Is that a business you've thought about getting into.

Speaker 4 (01:08:37):
No, But after having a conversation with her, I kind
of feel I'm kind of a little bit more intrigued
about how I can make money and doing that mm hm.

Speaker 1 (01:08:44):
I'll tell you what though, I mean me personally. I
know there's a lot of money potentially in opening a dispensary,
but it seems like a lot, yeah, and it is
out of ways to be involved, Like I wouldn't mind
being able to supply some of the things.

Speaker 5 (01:08:56):
And what y'all mean not know is I am like
a small percentage own in a farm.

Speaker 4 (01:09:01):
You're so rich, Angela, Well, I'm not, okay.

Speaker 5 (01:09:05):
But this was something that actually I did super early
on right, so it was a good thing to do.

Speaker 4 (01:09:11):
Wouldn't it be nice if you could integrate this in
your coffee.

Speaker 1 (01:09:14):
Yeah, that is something that we've actually been talking about
and CBD yes, like she said, you can use that everywhere,
so that could be something that is potential, you know,
because the coffee shop hasn't been opened that long. But
shout out to everybody who's been getting some coffee uplifts people.
I actually am going to be at my coffee shop today. Cool,
it's in Brooklyn. But I also have a brand, not
just a brand, you're your own brand, the Coffee Uplifts brand. Okay,

(01:09:38):
and I want to thank y'all for joining us today.
I know tomorrow we have tell Us a Secret, Oh goodness,
and I do want to say I saw somebody on
social media, you know that tell Us a Secret from
yesterday was posted about Scotting.

Speaker 14 (01:09:50):
It was a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:09:51):
But that's not all that's discussed on the show. You know,
tomorrow's also a Wealth Wednesday, and we have a great
one tomorrow because Essence Festival of Culture.

Speaker 5 (01:10:00):
Yes it's happening, and we do.

Speaker 1 (01:10:01):
Have the CEO and president of Essen's Ventures who's going
to be joining us, Caroline Wanga. So if you've never
been to Essence Fest, or if you don't even know
about all the different things that they have going on.
They have Afropunk, they have Beauty con all of those things,
they have Essen Studios. We're going to discuss all of
that for Wealth Wednesday tomorrow. But as for the rest
of the day, you guys, enjoy yourselves, be safe out there,

(01:10:24):
enjoy your life. That's what we're about to do. Oh yeah,
all right, and again you guys have the last word
every single day. Eight hundred two, nine fifty one fifty
is a number less go Hi.

Speaker 12 (01:10:33):
I just wanted to get on here and say this
is pass us some Savannah's been listening to you since
the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 7 (01:10:38):
Now you're way up.

Speaker 12 (01:10:40):
I ain't got t to argue with you. It's I
love the intro. But yes, I just want to say
clue that I love to haggle. I'm gonna haggle. I
want it cheaper because I have been in the retail
industry and I know what you're possibly paying for something.
So it's kind of hard to give you my money
when I know it's a discount that can come off

(01:11:02):
from something. And plus I'm a woman you'd like to
keep all money. Thank you for keeping us entertaining, Angie,
and have a today. This is Tasha from Savannah.

Speaker 11 (01:11:11):
Wait yep, Hi Angela, Hi Jazzman. This is Eric from
South Jersey. I want to shine a light on myself today.
It's my birthday, and I want to also shine a
light on my girlfriend Tania. He's gonna be taking me
out at dinner tonight to celebrate, and then I'm gonna
try to light on one more person. My cousin Alex's
birthday is tomorrow.

Speaker 18 (01:11:31):
Thank you love the show.

Speaker 7 (01:11:33):
Yeah, and Angela, it's just cut from South Side Jamaica. Queens.
You're hackling was one of my best act brouts, whether
it was Jamaica Avenue and Queens, whether it was Beacon
on that Ah room. That was one of my things
I enjoyed doing. I always played out of town called
sometimes look im from out of town, though, Man I
gotta get back home. Man do anyway you can knock

(01:11:55):
a few hundred off the high have them, you know me.
So that was my way of success, turning it a
little way up.

Speaker 3 (01:12:03):
Angela Yee is way up.
