and more. They also work withstudents in nursing school studying for the

Let us welcome the owner, misterScott Parker to the show to tell us
all about Know it All tutor.Mister Parker, how are you doing today?
Good sir, I'm doing great.Thank you, Twina, Thank you
for having me on the show. No, thank you for joining us in
(02:10):
As the father of one child whohas just graduated high school and another who
has matriculated from the eighth grade andwill be going into high school this coming
fall. It is an absolute struggle, just this entire process of drilling this
information into your kid's heads and thenretaining it and being able to apply it
(02:35):
to test and studies and everything. It is an uphill battle. And I
know for a fact both my children, my son and my daughter, they
benefited greatly from after school tutoring, but they needed a little more. Tell
us how does Know it All tutorsstep in and fill that gap? Well,
Twala, First we want to hearfrom their parents if they're in high
(03:00):
school, middle school, elementary, and we want to find out what what
their struggles are. Sometimes it's focusingcell phone usage, uh, sports,
in the mix. Sometimes they justdon't have time or their their classes are
large, and it's tough for themto pay attention. I mean, no
one can be exceptional at every subject. And and so these days I'm finding
(03:24):
at the subjects such as history andEnglish, a lot of kids are getting
by. They're they're putting their thoughtson paper and they're able to read and
get through it. But sometimes mathis the is the real a barrier that
kids face. And I think it'soften because we are a cashless society.
We we you know, kids whenthey're young, they think the money comes
(03:45):
from their phones, their parents' phones, and you know, don't understand how
numbers work. And if you don'tunderstand and you're not in in the in
the in your life, if you'renot counting, whether it's coins or dollars
or anything, then you don't reallyunderstanders. So math is the biggest demand
that we have every year. Wow, that makes absolute total sense. Tell
(04:09):
me. From coming out of thepandemic, so many of our children have
struggled to just get back into goodstudy habits or get back into the whole
rhythm of it all. What haveyou seen and know it all? Tutors
has been the greatest struggle that studentshave been experiencing coming out of the pandemic.
(04:32):
Well, everything is shifted in thepandemic to the online mode, and
in many schools the kids still dailychecked portals see what's been posted. It's
definitely shifted. We're very very littleare we papering pencil books. Math has
to be done on paper, andwhen you have the option of ordering or
(04:57):
having that physical math textbook, Iwould do it. Private schools make you
buy their books, and I wouldadvise parents to try to pick up a
used math book at the public schoolsif they're not, or request one to
have at home so that the kidscan actually you see it on paper,
turn those pages, see those examples, check their answers. It's not the
(05:20):
same. It's three dimensional and online. You've got a screen, and to
go to another screen takes efforts. What we found is sometimes our tutors will
go through the screens with the kids, make sure see the missing assignments and
write things down on paper so thekids can get through them and feel more
(05:42):
organized rather than overwhelmed. Parents maybe better at going through portals and actually
checking things. These days, we'vehad the internet for almost thirty years,
but these kids just got thrown intothis digital world. And I do think
sometimes a parent to help a studentgo through the calendar and really write things
(06:03):
down in a planner on a paperand then you cross them out as you
go, because if you wake upevery morning feeling overwhelmed, you to go
to sleep overwhelmed. So we've foundthe ability to sometimes raise a grade from
a D to a C or aB to an A literally by finding things
online and emailing the teacher and askingfor a couple extra days to get something
(06:24):
done, and boom, you know, it makes them feel better just you
know, doing something getting that gradehigher. We know there's no immediate reward,
but the concept is if we havesome standards, like you don't have
to be an A student, butI'd like you to be a B student,
well let's get that C to aB or let's you know, let's
and it can happen. So Iencourage parents to log on and instead of
(06:47):
looking at it as a negative,it's looking at it as like teamwork.
It's a Sunday's an easing, let'sget ready for the week, you know,
let's see what's going on we'll doit together. I'll do my planner,
you do your planner, and wedo it together. Absolutely. If
you are just tuning in, I'mspeaking with mister Scott Parker. He is
(07:08):
the owner of Know It All Tutorsthat Know It All Tutors. They provide
one on one tutoring for students ofall agents, from elementary reading and maskills
through all AP courses and college levelcalculus, chemistry, physics, writing skills,
and more. They also work withstudents in nursing schools studying for the
EMT Exam, VET Tech exam, taking accounting classes, computer science, the
(07:31):
ACT SAT exams, and nearly everysubject and test. We are going to
have more with mister Parker on theother side because I definitely want to get
into studying for the EMT Exam andthe VET tech exams and more. So.
Don't you go nowhere, Keep itright here. This is kfi AM
six forty Live Everywhere on the iHeartRadioapp. You're listening to Soul cal Saturday
(07:55):
with Tawla Sharp on demand from KFIAMsix forty kfive and six forty Life Everywhere
on the iHeartRadio app in Malibu,Porta Ranch, Redlands, and Marino Valley.
This is soul Cal Saturday. Weare right in the middle of our
(08:16):
soul Cal Saturday Small Business Saturday Spotlightwith Know It All Tutors. Mister Scott
Parker, the owner, is joiningus today to tell us all about Know
It All Tutors and all the servicesthey provide. When we left off,
we were getting into or I broughtup the fact that it's not just elementary
through AP courses in high school thatKnow It All Tutors provide services for.
(08:41):
They also work with students in nursingschool studying for the EMT Exam, VE
TECH exam, taking accounting class ofcomputer Science, the ACT SAT exams,
and nearly every subject test and more. Mister Parker, what went into the
decision to take Know It All Tutorsand the services you provide beyond on the
elementary through high school and AP courselevel to working with individuals who are studying
(09:05):
for the E M T Exam, that tech exams and more. You know,
it's it's interesting. We we didsome work years ago with Homeboy Industries
and we had to help people gettheir GEDs because without their GEDs they weren't
able to get jobs. And wealso worked with Upward Bound, which is
(09:26):
a federal UH A federal program thathelps students succeed in high school and beyond,
and we help them with their SA T and a c T exams,
giving them a little bit more competitiveedge. And we also work with
the youth camps, you know, the students that are you know, held
in youth camps for UH for youknow, things that have happened in their
(09:48):
lives. And so those are ourunusual areas we are known for, you
know, algebra and all these otherareas and one to one tutoring for kids
in high school elementary. But whenthe pandemic hit, we started to get
a lot of calls to do zoomtutoring during that time. And there were
adults that were in nursing school, but it was very tough for them to
(10:11):
study for the endplax that's the examto become a nurse, or the MT
exam or there are LVN and RNstudents that finished their schooling, but the
actual standardized test that they needed totake was the barrier. So we specialized
in standardized testing because there are somethings that I mean, there's definitely specific
(10:35):
knowledge you need that you've learned, but there are also specific standardized test taking
skills i'd say general standardized test takingskills that can be applied to almost any
exam. And we saw a lotof people with completing their schooling, but
they couldn't practice or go there orbe employed because they couldn't pass that one
(10:56):
large exam at the very end.So we started getting involved in that and
helping adults go to work, youknow, take you get out of school
and and practice what they what theylearned. So that's that's what we did
there, and we do one toone mainly if there are students that are
that are in the same area andlearning at the same level, will form
(11:18):
small groups. Now where do youprovide services? Do you do services in
person or is everything online nowadays?Well, it depends on the request of
the person and our availability. Wedo both in person and online. We
do have offices in North Reach andWestlake Village, but we also meet at
(11:39):
public libraries. We have met atBarnes and Noble and h and places like
that Starbucks, depending on the needof the of the individual clients. So
Zoom is very popular because we havethe digital resources that textbooks can be brought
right up on the screen, sowe're not sharing, Uh, we're really
(12:00):
looking at the same thing and wecan mark on it and highlight it.
But we we do know that certainsubjects and certain needs are in person.
And again local libraries work physically atour locations in website villach or northrich Where
can our soul coal Saturday listeners findyou? What is the website where they
can find everything they need to knowabout know it All Tutors. Well,
(12:22):
we have our website and a littleform to fill out at know it All
tutors dot com. We also haveeight one eight is our phone number four
seven two nine four zero four. It's know at All Tutors dot com.
Eight one eight four seven two ninefour zero four. And I'd like to
(12:43):
say that tutoring really isn't a foreverthing. Our goal is to tutor ourselves
out of a job. We want, you know, we would love to
see the students that we work withlearn permanent skills to up their school performance
and then know if they struggle withsomething like chemistry or physics, or maybe
a foreign language Spanish or French, you know, we can drill down on
(13:07):
that specific subject. But the goalis to create independent learners who kind of
know the game. You know howto use that textbook, know how to
use that online portal, you knowhow to budget their time. That's our
goal to tutor ourselves out of ajob really and take on an XT student
aimen to that. I can tellyou for a fact that your service and
(13:31):
what you are providing is needed nowmore than ever. Working within the education
system, having you know, twochildren making their way through it and knowing
how much tutoring has helped them.I salute you not just for what you
do, but for also the variousgroups that you work with, from home
(13:52):
Boy Industries to upward Bound. Yourwork is absolutely essential, especially when it
comes to getting individuals to the nextlevel and helping them through these hurdles.
I salute you, good sir,and I thank you for what you do,
and thank you for joining us todayon soul cal Saturday to introduce Know
it All Tutors. Thank you,Tuila. I salute you as well,
(14:15):
raising your son and daughter and rightthere in the mix with all of your
listeners. So thank you so muchfor having Know it All tutors and meon
and my son and my daughter nowrun the company with me as well.
There in their mid twenties, andwe're a family owned business and I really
appreciate you having us on for SmallBusiness Saturday. It is our absolute pleasure.
(14:35):
This is KFI AM six forty Liveeverywhere on the iHeartRadio app You're listening
to Soul cal Saturday with Taula Sharpon demand from KFI AM six forty KFI
(14:58):
AM six everywhere all the Ihearted Radioappened Montrose Signal Hill. She know Victorville
and back in the day, saynot even that far back, thirteen years
ago, maybe fourteen, I wasliving in Erie, Pennsylvania, and I
had the opportunity to go and seea Monster Jam truck rally. And for
(15:22):
me, this was the most excitingexperience of my life as a kid growing
up really into monster trucks. Igot to see Bigfoot and all of the
rest crushing cars doing incredible jumps. It was insane. You can literally feel
the engines revving in your chest. And so when I tell you how excited
(15:45):
I am that the Monster Jam SummerArena Spectacular is coming back to SoCal,
believe me, that is right. The world's most popular trucks and the best
drivers are returning to Crypto dot ComArena July nineteenth, the twenty first featuring
the all new Sparkle Smash Monster JamTruck plus sol Cal Native Rookie of the
(16:06):
Year Fernando Martinez driving El Toro Locois going to be there. But you
will also have the opportunity to bethere as well, because I have the
one, the only, mister WestonAnderson, the driver of the legendary Gravedigger,
joining us today on soul Cal Saturday, and he is going to give
(16:27):
you a family four pack of ticketsto the Friday, July nineteenth show at
seven point thirty at the Crypto dotCom Arena. But let me get out
of the way and bring him in. I am talking about Kill Drive Hills,
North Carolina's very owned Weston Anderson. How are you doing today, good
sir, I'm doing great. Man. I gotta say that is probably one
(16:48):
of the best intros I have everhad doing a radio interview, and it
gave me the chills a little bit. I'm not gonna lie. Hey man,
look you driving Gravedigger gives me thechills. I mean, this truck
is les Jen Darry. If youknow Monster Jam Truck driving, you know
Gravedigger. How did you get intodriving monster trucks. So it's a funny
(17:10):
story. Actually all the way fortythree years ago, just right down the
road from where a shop is rightnow, my dad created the iconic Gravevigger
Monster jam brand, And for thepast forty three years we have been traveling
the whole globe with the truck, trying to build up the legacy. And
now we're just out here trying tokeep the torch lit. Me and all
(17:30):
my siblings drive Gravevigger. My dadstepped back for a second, but hey,
you got the best of the best. The Anderson's behind the wheel of
grave Vigger wherever we may be.Wow, man, a family legacy that
is absolutely amazing. Take me insideof the driver's seat. What is it
like? I mean, for meas a spectator, I am feeling all
(17:53):
of the energy. I'm hearing theroar of the motors, the crushing of
cars when those cars jump. Imean, it is next level. But
what is it like for you inthe driver's seat? Man? It is
one of the most surreal feelings youwill ever feel in your life. And
I don't know if you've ever writtena roller coaster. If there's anybody out
there that has written roller coasters. It is exactly the same as that,
(18:17):
except for you have sixteen hundred horsepower right behind you and you get to
control what that truck is gonna do. It's it's unlike any other thing in
the world. I'm a little bitof a adrenaline junkie myself, and every
single time I get behind the wheelof that truck, I get out and
I'm shaking because so much adrenaline isrushing through my body. It's insane,
man, look trust to believe. As a spectator again, I feel that.
(18:41):
And you comparing it to being ina roller coaster, that makes total
sense. I mean, these thingsare gigantic and when you go flying through
the air in some of these things, my heart literally is in my throat.
How dangerous is it driving these monstertrucks. Well, luckily, we
have had a bunch of trial anderror through the forty three years of us
(19:03):
being grave bigger, and we havedeveloped one of the best safety systems,
and I'd like to say all ofmotorsports, and we have little to no
injuries in the trucks whatsoever anymore. And Yeah, we get to go out
there and it's almost like a calmstate of mind whenever you get in the
truck because you know how safe itis. There's always a risk with some
(19:25):
things, but the truck is verysafe. You're more than likely going to
get hurt falling walking down the stairsand yard a monster truck nowadays. Now,
if you are no newcomer when itcomes to the Arena Spectacular, I
mean, in the Arena Series, you were the twenty twenty two Arena Series
East Champion, twenty twenty three EastSeries Champion. You have so many accolades
(19:49):
and career highlights. What is yourgoal for this the Summer Monster Jam Arena
Spectacular. You know, I actuallylike it a lot because we're not running
for a point series, but italmost makes us drive a lot harder on
the series because we get to drivewith a bunch of drivers that we haven't
been with all year, and wewant to prove like, hey, yeh,
(20:11):
my Arena series was way better thanyours, and it's almost like a
competition out there. Every single timewe hit the track, we want to
do better than everybody else, andusually it ends up with some tour up
trucks and some crazy wild moments atthe end of the night. If you
are just tuning in. I amspeaking with Weston Anderson, the driver of
the legendary Grave Digger Monster Truck. The Monster Jam Summer Arena Spectacular is returning
(20:37):
to so Cal at the Crypto dotCom Arena July nineteenth through the twenty first,
featuring the all new Sparkle Smash MonsterJam Truck, plus so Cow Native
Rookie of the Year for Nando Martinezdriving El Toro Loco. But I know
for a fact if you're going, you are going to see Grave Digger as
I would be, you know,And we actually have an opportunity for you
(21:00):
right now to win a family fourpack of tickets to go and see this
amazing event. Western. What numberwould you like to call out? Oh
man, I think I'm gonna haveto go with the lucky number three.
You know, do it for Dale, right, So let's go call her
number three. Caller number three, right now, give us a call at
eight hundred five to two oh oneKFI that is eight hundred and five to
(21:22):
two oh one five three four foryour opportunity to win a four pack of
tickets inside the Monster Jam Summer ArenaSpectacular. Tickets again are on sale right
now. But caller number three, you have your opportunity to win a four
pack of tickets eight hundred five totwo oh one KFI eight hundred five to
two oh one five three four andyou are in there, Weston. What
(21:47):
is this winner and their family gonnaget to see when they show up at
the Monster Jam Summer Arena Spectacular. You get to see the greatest event on
Earth, I'd like to call it. You know. You get to see
me and my closest friends out therecompeting for the overall Event Championship trophy.
And we're just gonna be having ablast out there. Man. You're gonna
(22:07):
see the trucks flying through the air, probably gonna be a lot of crash
use. You may even have abackflip in there. You never know.
We always get pretty crazy whenever weget behind the wheels of these trucks.
So you're just gonna have come outand find out. I Reckon, I
love it. We will absolutely becheering you on, Weston Anderson. Thank
you so much for joining us todayon Soul Cow Saturday, taking us inside
(22:30):
not only what it is like todrive Grave Digger, but also to let
us know what's going down at theMonster Jam Summer Arena Spectacular July nineteenth through
the twenty first at the Crypto dotCom Arena. We wish you the absolute
best and absolutely another championship to puton the shelf. Absolutely, thank you
man. Hopefully you get some thatweekend and if not, we're gonna have
(22:53):
fun either way. Man. That'swhat's up. This is KFI AM six
forty Live everywhere on the radio app. You're listening to soul Cal Saturday with
Tawaala Sharp on demand from KFI AMsix forty. Just gotta be kf I
(23:18):
AM six forty Live everywhere on theiHeart Radio app in Lake Blah Blah Blah,
the Laona Valley, Sam Bernardino andOntario. This is soul Cal Saturday.
Before we get out of here, want to absolutely get you ready and
get you all prepped and came onfor fourth of July. Yes, fourth
(23:44):
of July is upon us, theday when at least my neighborhood, maybe
not yours, for at least myneighborhood. It sounds like be root all
of the unsanctioned illegal fire work showsthat go on all night. They have
already started, They're already popping off, and i'd look, where are you
(24:06):
all getting these fightworks from looking atevery time you turn around to some news
story about some massive illegal firework busand still come Fourth of July and the
weeks damn near months after it's goingon. But interestingly enough, here in
southern California, there is a newstudy from Airbnb believe it or not that
(24:30):
points out or not points out,but highlights one of the most desirable Fourth
of July destinations, according to Airbnb, is not only in California, but
it's in Lancaster. Yes, Lancaster. Wow. According to Airbnb, the
(24:52):
list of the ten most desired destinationsfor Fourth of July are the Pokono Township
in Pennsylvania. Uh, Saratoga Springsin New York, Marshfield, Massachusetts,
yep, Leeville, Colorado, BangorMaine, Lancaster, California. Uh,
(25:14):
clee Elham, Washington. H that'sright, yeah, No, I'm just
like that's okay, sure, butthese are places where I'm like, that's
where you want to go? Allright? Uh? Wanna Tachi, Washington.
What that's a great time in Washington? Are you talking about? Winnachi?
Is that what it is? Okay? Sure, win Achi, let's
(25:36):
go with it. Let's go withit. Weinachi even worse, who's heard
of Winachi and who's going there?Uh? Sannabel Santabel Island in Florida,
so nice. You got to sayit twice, Okay? And Fort Myer
Beach in Florida. These are thetop destinations of cord to Airbnb, where
people are going to fireworks. Ipromise you this. I've never wanted to
(25:59):
go to with Sabbi. What'd yousay, Sabby with Sabbi Washington where it's
wan Natchi it's in central Washington.I've actually never been there either. It's
in this middle of East state. No one's been there, No one's been
there, and yet Airbnb claims itis one of the most desired Fourth of
July locations according to their bookings.I say, hell no, I say
(26:22):
that's lies and garbage. That articleis to get traffic into their less desirable
Airbnb's I want to get some moneyup there, so like, oh,
Fourth of July, you're trying totravel, these are the places you want
to you know what? That makesperfect sense. So Airbnb is all about
the lies in garbage, because nobodyis going to wacoa Sabbi Washington no one
(26:44):
is going there. If you arelooking for fireworks and you want to check
them out and you have not receivedyour invitation to mo Kelly's Fourth of July
Spectacular at Chateau Le Mo, Iknow I will be there. Mark Ronner
is going to be there. Superproducer Kala is going to be there.
I don't know. I don't know. Are we the only ones going?
(27:10):
Are we the only ones going tothis firework spectacular? That's an outstanding question?
Yeah? Is that for? Yeah, I'm looking. I thought you
gonna be looking at you. I'mkidding, I'm giving you the look like
you. No, Unfortunately, Ihave a bunch of under a bunch of
other plans. We did not haveto flip a coin and decide where I'm
(27:30):
going to go. Oh damn flippinga coin. Yeah, well, what
can you do? We will beat Chateau lab We love to be there.
I would love to be there.Sports judging the contest, the dessert
contest. So that's going to bereally exciting, out of control because the
four reporters judging this year's Fourth ofJuly contest. I'm actually going to enter
again. I wasn't going to enter, but with the four Report judging,
(27:52):
I am entering. I know thefour Report's palette for desserts is without well.
I heard there was a controversy thoughbefore there was a controversy. There's
a controversy. I will stand firmon this. Look, all props to
the winner, all props to thewinner. But when your daughter is the
judge, you know, I don'tknow. I'm not trying to be like
(28:15):
Trump here, but you know,I demand to recount. I demand to
recount. While I will say Iwas a judge last year and the year
before, before the Fork Report camein and stole my show, I voted
for you. You weren't there lastyear the year before because you back COVID.
Then you were all coughing and stuff. But when you came back and
you bought the dessert, I votedfor you because I think that you're You're
amazing in the kitchen, and Ireally have been craving that peach cobbler cake
(28:37):
ever since. I either I'm doingsomething different. I may just bring that
just to be just bingampion, Yeah, just to be indignant. If you
want to check out some Fourth ofJuly firework shows for free, there's the
Patriotic festival and fireworks show actually tonightin Arcadia from five to nine thirty,
(28:59):
and then let's see, on Tuesday, there's a Fourth of July show in
Norwalk, the Independence Day festival onthe third, and Duarte there's another Independence
Day celebration, and of course onthe fourth it is going down, so
Rito's El Segundo, Huntington Beach,Laguna Beach, Long Beach, and more
fireworks shows are going down. Ofcourse, super producer Kayla is going to
(29:22):
put this entire list on the website. One of my favorite shows. They've
already put up signs in Pasadena tolet you know that traffic is going to
be insane. But it is theFourth of July celebration at the Rose Bowl.
I used to love going, atleast to sit around the Rose Bowl
because the fireworks show used to goabove the bowl and you would be able
(29:44):
to see some of the bigger fireworks, or go and sit on like someone's
roof, or you know, evenI think maybe not last but three years
ago we went to the top ofthe twenty four hour Fitness parking garage and
you could see the fireworks from there. But now the Rose bowls like no
now we're gonna do, and we'regonna make the fireworks come lower so you
can only see them if you're inthe bowl, and that is whack.
(30:06):
Okay, if you're trying to doFourth of July fireworks at the Rose Bowl,
you need to make it availables everybody, not just the paying customers.
Okay. I know that sounds weird. I know that sounds weird to say
that it shouldn't just be for payingcustomers. But you know, that was
like a tradition. We were goingand mooch and mooch off of the fireworks.
That's what we did. It wasa tradition. And now that's over.
But I hope you have a happyand safe forth of July. Please,
(30:32):
whatever you do, whatever you do, do not let your Fourth of
July include drinking and driving. I'mnot talking about you have to get into
one of these autonomous way mow robotaxis, but Uber and the other one.
That's the thing. We actually haveride share services in southern California.
(30:52):
It is easy. You don't evenhave to die. You're just punching your
phone number. Look, you don'thave to drive. You driving drunk means
that you are literally on the road, putting yourself in a position to take
someone's life. Don't do it.Think twice before you even think about it.
All right, I appreciate you takingthe time to hang with us today,
Super producer Caleb, thank you forsuch an amazing, amazing show.
(31:18):
Love you for it. Jackie Ray, thanks for holding it down in the
news room. And before we getout of here, we have I'm not
sure if we do though, butwe have another small business that will be
joining us next week, Raoul,to spin the wheel at see who we
have. It's a surprise what You'regonna be so happy when you go there
(31:45):
we go hits us apprize you getthis business, You're gonna be stoked.
Oh boy, Well, you knowwhat you gotta do. You gotta tune
in next week to hear who itis again. Thank you, thanks for
hanging out with this. I knowyou could have been doing anything under the
sum, but you chose to spendthis time with us. Roul, thanks
for holding down on the board.Mark Ronald, good seeing you in the
(32:07):
newsroom. Good sir, bless you. T Bear. Oh my god.
