Speaker 1 (00:21):
Welcome to our podcast. Please be aware the thoughts and
opinions expressed by the host are their thoughts and opinions

to Coast, AM employees of Premiere Networks, or their sponsors
and associates. We would like to encourage you to do

(00:42):
your own research and discover the subject matter for yourself. Hi.
I'm Sandra Champlain. For over twenty five years, I've been
on a journey to prove the existence of life after death.
On each episode, we'll discuss us the reasons.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
We now know that our loved ones.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Have survived physical death and so will we. Welcome to
Shades of the Afterlife Today, We've got an episode packed
with profound insights and connections from across the veil. You'll
hear evidence that our loved ones still have their unique
personalities and their sense of humor after they transition, which

(01:26):
means we will too. We'll also explore the powerful experiences
of those who have stepped to the very edge of life,
including a recent celebrity who just announced their near death experience.
Can you guess who it is? We'll also dive into
a deep question do those in spirit grieve for us

(01:47):
the way we grieve for them? But first, I've had
some wonderful messages from listeners that I'd like to share
and know. Your stories are important to me. I love
to hear them. You can always eat mail me Sandra
Champlaine at gmail dot com. One nice lady sent me
a video. It was a non verbal boy, unfortunately just

(02:11):
before he passed. He was only three and a half
years old, and he looked to the corner of the
room and with a smile he said Hello. Warmed my heart.
I know it's tough when kids pass, but just having
that hello makes me truly believe that someone was right
there to bring him home. Here's the next one. This

(02:31):
is from Marilyn. She said, Hi, Sandra, I had the
most amazing experience. I've been studying mediumship for two years
and have been studying with Phil and Carrie, who you
know are so lovable. I try to sit in the
power as much as I can. Well, today I had
an eighty minute massage for achy joints and I went

(02:54):
into some kind of deep consciousness and saw a white
dog sitting on a chair looking towards the massage therapist.
For at least thirty seconds or more, it was a
white dog. So for a minute I thought it might
be my dog who passed over twelve years ago. But
I got this deep sense that it was her dog

(03:16):
getting my wits about me. I was afraid to say anything,
but gathered enough nerves and asked, by any chance, do
you have a white dog in spirit? She said yes,
Cody was the dog's name. I asked her if she
had a photo of her dog on her phone, and
she says yes, many. She showed me the pictures and
it was exactly the dog I had seen in my

(03:39):
mind's eye.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
Yay.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
She mentioned Phil and carry husband and wife team Phil
Diyke's and Carrie McLeod, who run our medium classes online.
I always recommend you take a class. No, you never
need to be a medium, but you understand how your
soul perceives messages and image and feelings from the other's side.

(04:03):
When she shared this story about the white dog in spirit,
it reminded me. I was on the airport bus heading
from my home to Boston Airport. Sitting next to me
was a lady and she just happened to volunteer. She
was heading to Florida to attend a funeral. Just then

(04:24):
and there I saw in my mind's eye a priest
and got a pretty good idea of what he looked like.
And when I asked her, oh, can I ask who
passed away? She pulls out a picture and it was
the priest, the same one I saw in my mind's eye.
Pretty cool, all right. Here's Pam's story. She says, in

(04:45):
the early nineteen nineties, as a hospice social worker, I
supported terminally ill patients and families in their own homes.
This is the story of Paul, a patient with cancer who,
along with his wife, accepted his prognosis with grace. Paul
was an interesting and accomplished man. He loved driving his

(05:07):
new sports car and lived bravely in the face of
his illness. I developed a unique connection with him, different
from other patients During my time in hospice, I witnessed
patients often see and converse with their deceased loved ones,
which we knew meant their time was near. Though Paul

(05:29):
was Jewish and I was Christian, I found myself associating
Eric Clapton's song Tears in Heaven with him, especially the
lyrics will I See You in Heaven. I'd never connected
a song to a patient like that before. Of course,
Paul's health declined and he moved into our hospice house.

(05:49):
On a Friday. Before leaving for the weekend, I visited him.
He was alert and for the first time asked me
for a hug and kiss. I knew it might be
our life. Asked goodbye. Early Sunday morning, I awoke from
a peaceful sleep to Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven playing
loudly in my mind. Along with the song, I felt

(06:11):
an overwhelming sense of peace, unlike anything I'd ever known,
No fear, just profound comfort. I knew without a doubt
that Paul had died. I noted the time and then
went back to sleep. That Monday, at our hospice team huddle,
I asked what time Paul had passed his time of

(06:33):
death was within the hour of when I awoke on
Sunday morning. This experience never happened before or after Paul.
I still wonder what it meant. Was it Paul saying goodbye?
Was he letting me know he found peace? Or perhaps
was it his way of saying, see you did see
me in heaven. It was an experience I will cherish

(06:55):
forever to give you a little behind the scenes look
and how Sam records her podcast episodes. I do a
lot of recording, a lot of thoughts, a lot of speaking.
But of course I hesitate. Maybe I say, maybe I sneeze,
maybe I cough. Well, every so often, what I'll do
is I'll pause the recording. I'll go back and I

(07:18):
will edit out these sneezes, the coughs, and the ams.
While I was doing this for this episode, I'm mindfully
engrossed in the job at hand, of course, and whosh
incomes of memory from my deceased boyfriend of a time
we were cracking crabs having lunch in Cape May, New Jersey,

(07:42):
and it came in with a feeling, the memory like
we were right there together. Be on the lookout for
those little calling cards from spirit, when you're busy doing
something else and then all of a sudden, a great
memory pops into your mind, kind of like when someone
is taking your picture and someone else photo bombs you.

(08:05):
You know, they just jump in the picture and you
are unaware of it. So let's call these little drop
ins calling cards from spirit. Be on the lookout for them,
and know that is your loved one saying hello. As
we continue with some emails I received from fellow listeners,
In the subject line of this one simply said, will

(08:26):
I be fat in heaven? Oh? Can I relate? And
anyone else who has any kind of hardship or compulsion
or disorder? We can all relate, can't we. It's tough
being human, whether it is a set point in our
bodies to be heavier, or if we use food or

(08:48):
something else to comfort us. We may be on medication,
plenty of reasons. The good answer is no, we will
not be fat in heaven. Choose our best weight, our
best health, our best look, our best hairstyle. It is
not easy being human, as I'm sure you are full aware.

(09:10):
Here are some words from spirit about freedom from earthly burdens. First,
Spirit communicators emphasize that the physical bodies struggle, including illnesses, pain,
and addictions, are left behind on Earth. The soul ascends
free from these limitations. The pain that one may feel

(09:31):
on earth is washed away and the physical pain goes
back to earth. As said by our spirit friend Eric,
this extends to physical cravings and compulsions associated with addictions.
He clarifies that in the spirit world we do not
consume any form of flesh. We consume knowledge, kindness, and love.

(09:54):
This implies that the needs and dependencies of our physical bodies,
such as substance, create, simply do not exist in this
spiritual realm. Also healing and wholeness in spirit, every soul
that arrives in the afterlife is immediately met with unconditional love, peace,

(10:15):
and healing. There is no suffering or judgment for past
earthly struggles, including those related to addiction. Eric states, you
arrive in the state of familiarity, where everything is familiar
to you, and you receive the proper education, and you
are reunited with your loved ones and pets, and then

(10:35):
you move into the greater world of spirit. For those
who have died from issues related to addiction, their confusion
or pain is immediately dissolved. Upon their arrival, they are
only met with understanding and compassion. And no matter what
has taken us to the spirit world, whether by our
own hand, whether an act of violence or illness, or

(10:59):
we naturally die of old age, whatever brings us over there,
there is no judgment and there are no punishments. When
we or our loved ones transition, we leave behind all
physical ailments, illnesses, and indeed any addictions or physical dependencies
we had on earth. The spirit world is a place

(11:20):
of unconditional love, peace, and healing. Souls are met with understanding,
not judgment, and are immediately free from any suffering. As
spirit communicators like our friend Eric confirm, our loved ones
arrive whole, at peace and can even continue their growth
in spirit, sometimes even serving others who are still struggling

(11:43):
on earth with similar issues. The pain of addiction is
purely an earthly experience. It does not carry over, Thank goodness,
and as I responded to our friend who asked will
we be fat in Heaven? I too struggle with and
when there are times that we do overeat enjoy it,

(12:05):
don't make ourselves wrong for it. That doesn't help at all.
As we continue our episode today, we got a little
bit of this, and we got a little bit of that.
So when we get back, we will hear from Kerrie
McLoud and Phil Dikes, two medium readings that happened on
our live Sunday gathering recently. They just struck a chord

(12:26):
within me that we have the same personalities in the
afterlife that we do here on earth. And also you'll
find out who that celebrity is who just came out
with their near death experience, and we'll hear some words
from spirit. Do our loved ones grieve as we grieve?

(12:47):
Good things ahead? For sure. Stay tuned, we'll be right back.
You're listening to Shades of the Afterlife on the iHeartRadio
and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal pod Cast Network. Welcome

(13:20):
back to Shades of the Afterlife. I'm Sandra Champlain. You're
going to hear now from Kerrie McLeod and Phil Dyke's
two mediums from our Sunday gathering, and it just warms
my heart the evidence that they bring and how we
get to keep our own personalities in the afterlife. Let's
start with Carrie.

Speaker 4 (13:39):
As I begin to work with the spirit world, I
feel like I have a gentleman here. I get the
impression that there would be a memory of being at
Harry potter Land. I feel it has been a fairly
recent visit. This is a gentleman, and I do feel

(14:00):
like he either was with you or has seen you
being to Harry Potterland.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
All right, friends, if you can understand this information, go
ahead and press your raise hand button. Josephine has her
hand raised. Hello, Josephine. I hi, Josephine. Do you understand
everything I've said? Yes, I can't feel a relationship with him,
but if I can see the whole of Harry potter Land,

(14:29):
so you would have been there with him?

Speaker 5 (14:32):
Yes, I was. We went on the Harry potter ride together.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Okay, don't give me any more, Josephine. Let me work
with him for you. He's given me the picture of
the butter beer, you know, the butter beer and the
plastic mugs.

Speaker 5 (14:47):
No, I mean I don't see that as a relationship
to my being. Let's know.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Okay, so he wouldn't have lined up to get a
butter beer, which is what the drink is from Harry
potter Land.

Speaker 5 (14:59):
H Yes, oh you do understand that. Okay.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
I also get the feeling that there would have been
some trophies and little bits and pieces you would still
have from the gift shop.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
Yes, we did go into the gift shop.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
But this is a grown man, Josephine. Yes, okay, I'm
not one for roller coasters myself, but I do feel
him squealing all the way around it, so I feel
like he would have loved it and hated it at
the same time.

Speaker 6 (15:34):
Yes, he was squeezing.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
My hand the whole rock.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
I get this sense as well that he was an
absolute kid at heart.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Yes, I know he must have.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Loved the Harry Potter movies as well.

Speaker 5 (15:51):
That we didn't see together, but he always talked about it. Okay.

Speaker 4 (15:55):
I also have this impression that during this tri it
was the trip of a lifetime.

Speaker 5 (16:04):
It was for me. We went to Florida, and that's
the Harry potterlan.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
It feels like there is no strong life unturned in
his way of making this.

Speaker 5 (16:16):
Happen for you.

Speaker 4 (16:19):
I also get this impression that he was very astute
in the way he spoke and the way he spoke
up four people as well.

Speaker 5 (16:29):
Oh absolutely.

Speaker 4 (16:30):
I also get the sense that he must have gifted
quite a few things to people within the family Yes,
I also get this impression, Josephine, that after his passing,
he wants to acknowledge how you have passed some of
his belongings out to people.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
And it means a.

Speaker 5 (16:51):
Lot too, if not tangible belongings, definitely stories to each
member of the family.

Speaker 4 (16:59):
That may well be true. But I also get the
sense that you have been very careful about who you
pass things of his out too.

Speaker 5 (17:08):
Yes, we weren't married, so I don't really have very
much of his old king.

Speaker 7 (17:15):
Then, apart from the stories and these memories of being
on holiday, I do know that you must have not
alway in a cupboard, but out a photo album or
a gathering of photos with you and him and others.

Speaker 4 (17:34):
Oh my god, yes, because I know he gives me
this impression of him watching you looking through it. I
also get the impression, Josephine, that you have noticed how
when you're looking through these photographs and listening to the
music you listened with him, how your mind is moved

(17:58):
to tie you were with him specific times.

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Absolutely, I know this is.

Speaker 4 (18:05):
His way of trying to share with you that he
is there, and when you find your mind moving to
those memories, it's because he's joining you in them. So
it's not just you and those memories, it's both of
you in them.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
Oh my god, Kerrie, thank you so much. This is
going to be a great memory for me. Now.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
I also know, Josephine, that when you have a very
specific mug or cap, and I feel like it's one
that you have memories of purchasing when you were with him. Yes,
it's a little bit stained on the inside as well.
I know this beautiful gentleman has a wonderful sense of humor.

(18:51):
I know a shouting happy birthday, Josephine, My birthday just
passed in me.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Oh okay, because.

Speaker 4 (18:59):
I know I hear him shouting that, and I know
he would shout that out. He would embarrass you to
show you how much he loved you.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
Oh God, thank you so much.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Please know that he is not anywhere else than with
you. You might not have what you had hoped to own
from him, but you have something much much more, and
that's the memories and his undying love. So I'm going
to leave that with you, Josephine, and see, thank you
for allowing me to do that for you.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
Yeah, and thank you so much, Kerrie.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
Belated Happy Birstie thank you.

Speaker 8 (19:37):
Okay, So as I become aware of the spirit world,
ladies and gentlemen, I know that I feel I've got
somebody's husband here.

Speaker 6 (19:43):
Now.

Speaker 8 (19:44):
I know he is a little bit fun and a
little bit mischievous. I know he had a habit of
writing and drawing things on the bathroom mirror, so when
you went to the bathroom and it steamed up, you
would find these things as well that he did because
I know he's got that mischievousness to him. So that

(20:04):
should make sense to somebody.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
Thank you very much, Phil who understands this information in Lisa,
the birthday girl has her hand raised.

Speaker 8 (20:14):
No, Lisa, Now I know I've done contacts to you before,
and I know that evidence I've never given because I
was excited about it being a little bit different. So
I know here I've got to give different evidence about
your husband. But he could be quite a mischievous character. Cunty. Yes,

(20:36):
And I want to say, were he wrote things on
that mirror?

Speaker 5 (20:41):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (20:42):
And would i'd be.

Speaker 8 (20:43):
Writing saying as well he drew things out on the
mirror as well, yes, with soap okay, And would I
be correcting saying what he drew out could be a
little bit naughty as well, definitely, because I know there's
no way I'm going to say what I've seen, but
you understand it was naughty. But I also feel that

(21:04):
he wasn't just the mischievous one. You would have done
things back to him as well.

Speaker 5 (21:09):
For sure.

Speaker 8 (21:11):
But I also believe that one of the things that
you did, because it sticks in his mind, you must
have planted a kiss on that mirror, Yes, because I
know I keep on seeing your lips on there like
a kiss, So I know here it's a little bit
of a game between you, because I do believe he

(21:31):
was that mischievous, fun character.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
Yes, but I also believe.

Speaker 8 (21:37):
As well he could be quite mischievous physically with you
as well.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Definitely, because it's almost.

Speaker 8 (21:45):
Like I don't want to be too blue, but.

Speaker 3 (21:48):
You know where he's going.

Speaker 8 (21:50):
Yes, okay, that's fine because I'm getting embarrassed as well.
I know that when you were out in public, he
could how can I say this, he would pinch your
bottom at times as well, Yes, because I know here
now it feels like sometimes you would move his hand
and give him a little bit of a clout gently,

(22:12):
But it was that admiration some gentlemen are not the
best with words, but it's the actions that really brings
across their love.

Speaker 3 (22:21):
Yes, and that's who he was.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
Definitely.

Speaker 8 (22:26):
Oh my word, it would make sense to you, Lisa
that it's a little bit of a running joke. He
really kept you on your toes. It's almost like I
want to pretend to break down or the car won't start,
and be a little bit mischievous.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
That way as well. Yes, Kerry's looking at me.

Speaker 8 (22:51):
This is the lightest way I can say this, because
it feels like he wants to be a bit mischievous
in the car.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
Yes.

Speaker 8 (22:57):
Okay, sorry for embarrassing you, but I know here this
is his way that he is. And I know you've
already broadcast to everybody it is your birthday. But I
do believe he would go out of his way and
do things very personal for you, definitely, And I do

(23:18):
believe he would have sung to you as well all
the time, because I know it's I want to make
songs up for you for your birthday. Yes, and I
know as well, within his songs that he wrote and did,
he would have put very symbolic words or catchphrases in

(23:40):
there that were very secret between you and him. Definitely,
because I know there were some of his pet names,
and again some of them are a little bit blue
in those songs. Yes, And I want to leave you
his love and say that he loves you very much,

(24:01):
and I cannot repeat that. He is very affectionate towards you.
That's all i was saying mentally and physically. And I've
got to leave it because I'm going to get in
trouble if i repeat some of these stuff. So I
know here he was a laugh a minute, he was
fun a minute, and there was never a moment where
life got too serious because he had a way of

(24:23):
bringing things in that would just lift you.

Speaker 5 (24:27):
Definitely.

Speaker 8 (24:28):
And I've got a little message from him where he
talks about doing things mischievers. One of his mottos was
never let life hold you down. Always look forward to
the next thing, because it will happen.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
He always said that.

Speaker 8 (24:46):
And I'm going to leave his love with you and
say thank you for allowing me to do that.

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Lisa, Thank you so much. Thank you. You're absolutely welcome,
Absolutely welcome.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
That's just a little taste of our free Sunday gathering.
See how we get to be our same person, mischievous
and all when we cross over, what would you tell
your loved ones from the spirit side to let them
know that it's you and always remember, just say yes, no,
or I don't know, to any medium, let them do
the work. So the suspense is over. When we get

(25:17):
back from the break, I'm going to tell you the
celebrity who's just come out sharing his near death experience.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
We'll be right back.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
You're listening to Shades of the Afterlife on the iHeartRadio
and Coast to Coast AM Paranormal Podcast Network. Welcome back

(25:51):
to Shades of the Afterlife. I'm Sandra Champlain. Who is
the latest celebrity to come out with their near death experience? Well,
if you guessed actor Jeremy Renner, you would be correct.
Jeremy Renner now starring in Mayor of Kingstown, known for
his Avengers role and so much more. It was New

(26:14):
Year's Day of twenty twenty three when Jeremy faced a
terrible accident, being crushed under a fourteen thousand pound snow
plowing machine while saving his nephew, with thirty eight broken bones,
his eyeball out, he later revealed he stopped breathing and
he was gone. Next he had a profound near death experience.

(26:39):
He called it a relief to be removed from the
body and the most exhilarating piece you could ever feel.
He described becoming the atoms of who you are, the DNA,
your spirit, and experiencing the highest adrenaline rush, and it
was magnificent. He saw his lifetime everything all at once

(27:04):
in a timeless, beautiful space and states love is the
only thing you take with you when you die. He
said it was so beautiful and that he did not
want to come back. What's incredibly interesting is Jeremy Renner
said that he knew nothing about near death experiences beforehand,

(27:24):
and that he was shocked that his account was almost
word for word like others he had heard since then.
This experience utterly changed him. He said, it muted all
of the white noise, allowing me to live as captain
of my own ship. He realized true value lies in love, kindness,

(27:47):
and our shared humanity. In his brand new book My
Next Breath, Jeremy Renner shares his experience so openly, which
offers incredible validation that are conrighteousness can and does transcend
the physical, revealing an afterlife of overwhelming love and a

(28:08):
path to a richer, more purposeful life. Now, Jeremy joins
other celebrities who have had near death experiences and have
been open about that. What makes these celebrity accounts so
compelling is that they have nothing to gain by sharing
these stories, yet many feel so compelled to share with
the world what happened when they stepped out to the

(28:30):
very edge of life. Did you know the great legendary
actress Elizabeth Taylor had an ND when she was about
thirty years old in London. She was pronounced clinically dead
four times during surgery. During one instance, her heart stopped
and she had no vital signs for five minutes. That's

(28:51):
when she had her near death experience. She described herself
out of her body, where she could clearly see the
medical team working frantically around her. She'd tried desperately to
move a finger or an eyelid, anything to let them
know she could hear them, and she heard them say, well,
I think we've lost her. Then she floated into a warm,

(29:15):
welcoming tunnel toward a white sun and saw figures. She
recognized her beloved husband, Mike Todd, who had been dead
for three years and whom she was still deeply mourning,
was there to greet her. She desperately wanted to be
with him, but he told her, no, baby, it's not
your time. You can't come over. You have to fight

(29:37):
to get back. She pleaded to stay, but he insisted. Evidently,
her hands were clenched tightly and doctors struggled to unclench them.
When she came back, she told the eleven doctors in
the room everything she experienced, fearing they'd think she was crazy,
so for years she kept silent, But after reading other

(29:59):
near death experience accounts, she realized that far too many
people have gone through this experience just like she did,
and she became vocal about it. In twenty eleven, Elizabeth
Taylor passed into spirit, reportedly unafraid of dying because of
this profound experience. Actress Sharon Stone also came close to

(30:23):
death when she suffered a massive stroke in two thousand
and one. In her book The Beauty of Living Twice,
she revealed that she was bleeding into her brain for
several days before being hospitalized and becoming unconscious. She described
suddenly feeling everything moving strangely, as if the film of

(30:44):
my life were moving through a camera backward.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Fast.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
She experienced a feeling of falling, when a tremendous, luminous,
uplifting white out pulling me right out of my body
and into a familiar, brilliant and other body of knowing
she was immersed in this luminous light, seeing familiar and
transcendent faces her closest friends, Caroline, Tony and Manuel, who

(31:12):
had passed on. She missed them deeply. They were there,
warm and welcoming, and without words, she understood they were
telling her why we are safe and why we should
not be afraid, because we are surrounded by love, that
in fact, we are made of love. Then she felt
a powerful kick in the chest and was back awake.

(31:36):
In the emergency room, she described taking a huge gasp
like being underwater too long, and seeing her doctor reviving her.
Actress Della Reese, while not a full near death experience
in the sense of a clinical death, shared a profound
spiritual rescue. She recounted a harrowing accident where she almost

(31:59):
bled to death after walking into a glass door, losing
seven pints of blood and kneading one thousand stitches as
she was cutting her body on jagged glass, Unable to
get traction, her mother, who had been deceased since nineteen
oh nine, appeared. Della says, my mother put her arm

(32:21):
around me like this and lifted me up on top
of the broken glass. I would have been guillotined had
she not done that. This incredible intervention saved her life,
a powerful example of spiritual assistance during a life threatening moment.
Bass guitarist Nikki six from Motley Crue also had a

(32:45):
dramatic near death experience, but he also kept it quiet
for years due to fear of ridicule. He overdosed on
heroin in December of nineteen eighty seven and was thought
to be dead beyond help. Ambulance crewman administered two adrenaline
shots directly into his heart, bringing him back. Nicky later

(33:08):
discussed being able to see what was going on around
his body during the episode. He admitted, I saw things
from above that I shouldn't have been able to see.
I saw the hotel hallway, the ambulance and even the
limo that was there. I shouldn't have been able to
see that as I had a sheet over me. Ozzy

(33:31):
Osbourne also reported seeing a bright light after being pronounced
officially dead following a biking accident. He described drifting in
and out of consciousness and seeing a beautiful white light
shining through the darkness. When he humorously added no effing angels,
no one blowing trumpets, and no man in a white beard.

(33:55):
His accounts of light and unconsciousness aligns with the initial
phases of many near death experiences. Actor Donald Sutherland, who
just passed into spirit last year, had a near fatal
bout with meningitis in nineteen seventy nine that doctors later
told him he had actually died for a time. He explained,

(34:18):
suddenly the pain, fever and acute distress seemed to evaporate.
I was floating above my body, surrounded by soft blue light.
I began to glide down a long tunnel away from
the bed, but suddenly I found myself back in my body.
This classic out of body and tunnel experience, as we know,

(34:40):
highlights common elements of near death experiences. Actress Jane Seymour,
famous for many things, including a doctor Quinn Medicine woman,
also had a transformative near death experience. In nineteen eighty
eight while filming in Spain. She went into anna phylactic

(35:00):
shock being given an antibiotic, and her heart stopped Jane
vividly recalled, I saw the white light and I left
my body. I could see the doctor working furiously to
resuscitate me, which obviously he did. But when I recovered
and thought about my experience, I realized that the only

(35:21):
thing you leave behind when you die is the love
you gave to others and the difference you made in others' lives.
This is when Jane became more involved with philanthropy. She
described looking down from above, clearly seeing and hearing everyone
screaming and trying to resuscitate her, yet feeling completely calm

(35:45):
out of her body. Even legendary krooner Tony Bennett, who
passed in twenty twenty three, who left his heart in
San Francisco and left his body in a near death
experience in the nineteen seventies, struggled with a period of
personal loss. He passed out in a hot bath due

(36:05):
to drug use. He recalled, I experienced what some call
a near death experience, A golden light wrapped around me.
It was quite peaceful. In fact, I had the sense
I was about to embark on a very compelling journey.
His wife, Sandra, found him as the tub was overflowing

(36:27):
and he wasn't breathing, she performed CPR, literally bringing him
back to life. Bennett described being jolted out of the
vision and then seeing his physical injuries. He emphasized that
the experience was a profound wake up call that led
him to reevaluate his life and focus on his true

(36:50):
passion for music and art rather than destructive habits. Of course,
it doesn't matter if you're a celebrity or not. That
moment of day death. Our consciousness survives death often floating
above our bodies, feeling that light, that love, and eventually
being reunited with our loved ones. We're going to head

(37:12):
off to the break and when we get back, we'll
get the answer to the question, do our loved ones
in the afterlife grieve for us like we grieve for them?
A couple of quick quotes. Helen Keller said death is
no more than a passing from one room to another.
But there's a difference for me, you know, because in

(37:34):
that other room I shall be able to see. And
Patrick Swayzey said death is not the end of everything,
it's the beginning of everything. We'll be right back. You're
listening to Shades of the after Life on the iHeartRadio
and Coast to Coast am Pirinormal Podcast Network. Welcome back

(38:17):
to Shades of the Afterlife. I'm Sanders Champlain. Not too
long ago I published my first book as We Don't
Die publisher. It's called Conversations with Eric. Eric is a
gentleman in the spirit world who speaks through trance and
physical medium Scott Milligan. I have well over two hundred

(38:38):
hours recorded and put together the book Conversations with Eric,
of some of the most asked questions about life, death
and the afterlife. Of course I can't include everything. We
do have a library of all of his words of wisdom,
but this question does come up quite often. Do our

(39:00):
loved ones feel grief like we do?

Speaker 7 (39:03):
So?

Speaker 1 (39:04):
This is from a recent in the Arms of Eternity
with Scott Milligan and of course mister Eric. Let's listen
in I'm as a king Smith.

Speaker 6 (39:15):
If there is a need, I would take one more inquiry.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Thank you. I would like to ask a question on
behalf of.

Speaker 6 (39:21):
Julie, and I trust it she as well.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Yes, she says our son took his life last July
and the pain is still unbearable at times. He was
extremely spiritually connected on Earth and He is thankfully very
good at sending us messages of his love. Now my
question is do spirits suffer when their loved ones on
earth are grieving? Is there anything we can do on

(39:47):
earth to help our loved ones in spirit?

Speaker 6 (39:51):
Thank you, now, my friend, I will walk with confidence,
but I will also walk with gentleness for you yourself,
being convinced today that your son, your child, is still
firmly with you. But others may be listening for the
first time and they've fallen into that nightmare. Our world

(40:18):
can see everything about you. We can hear your conversations,
We can know your thoughts in private. We become frustrated
when we are living in your world because we find
it difficult to express ourselves in our reality. Now we accept, understand,

(40:46):
but we also try to heal you or bring light
into your world. And your children or your loved ones
will do the same. They try to speak with you.
But it is a natural progression from the deep depths

(41:07):
of love. There will always be grace because it is
a shadow of it. Life has the shadow of death.
Love has a shadow of hatred. So, my friend, I
say this to you, we do not react like we

(41:29):
once did. It doesn't help us becoming distress. When you
are distressed in naturality, we step into the deeper spiritual
part of our nature and try and comfort you, trying
to wave speak and give you those words that will

(41:53):
lift you from where you are into a greater understanding.
This is why I say, with great affection and gentleness,
we do not have time to grieve for you, because
you have not gone from us. But our world is

(42:13):
a different vibration. Some people in your world can tap
into that vibration and understand the conversations. Others are numb
to it. The sadness of this story is that many
people can say it didn't need to happen. And if

(42:37):
time can turn back and knowledge where we are today
was put back, then there may be a different outcome.
But we cannot give that because that will plant that seed,
if only. The proudness of this story is that you

(43:00):
have a child who now lives in our world, thriving,
deeply loved and deeply love in If only they could
pick up the telephone more frequently to remind you in

(43:21):
your moments of Greece, come along. I've not gone anywhere.
The mind that I once had is no more. Think
of me when I laughed, Think of me when I ran,

(43:42):
Think of me at my most funniest. That is how
you should see me, not the moments that you remember.
That can be difficult. This is why, my friends, if
only we can lend you our sight, you can see

(44:05):
for yourself our world. But you have a duty to
live as long as possible in your world. There will
come a time, my dear, where others that you know
or cross your path will have a similar story, but

(44:27):
they have just had it happen. And through the many months,
you will know the right words because you have experience.
I have no doubts in one's mind that your child

(44:49):
is being put to task and working with children of
our world and of yours, teaching them not to be frustrated,
teaching them how to be the best. There is no
sickness in my world. What dark thought may have occurred

(45:14):
is no more. And you will see for yourself, my friend,
when it is your time to cross the stream, there
will be some jumping jack waving arms ridiculously saying look
at me, and you will walk with confidence, and you

(45:36):
will embrace one another, and never will you ever be
separated again. That is why, my friends, in your world,
people leave you. In our world, people join you. That
is the difference. And so, my friend, in the moments

(45:58):
of people's distress, your family draws close, but the reaction
is different. When you yourself was a child, you may
have nightmares and then someone of seen you will walk
in the room and say they're there. It will be

(46:20):
all right. There is nothing for you to worry about
and bring reassurance to you. When you fell and scraped
your knee, someone of experience would come over and wipe
away with tears and make it better. When you are
in your darkest moment, the one you love, along with

(46:44):
seniors would come close and try and make it a
little bit easier for you. And that is true on
every layer of how our world comes to a your
world not abandon you. Soundra my day. Is that pleasing

(47:06):
very much?

Speaker 3 (47:07):
So thank you, Eric.

Speaker 6 (47:09):
I believe it was a beautiful moment to hold our
breath to for we have come full circle where you
can continue to walk and I will continue to observe
how your world is ever changing. For my prayer for

(47:32):
humanity for the world is for you all to know peace.
You may not know war like some countries, but you
may fight inwardly of what you may have been brought
into the world and educated to where you see the

(47:52):
world and live your life. Now go with peace, my friends,
for the world. As the sun set in your reality,
eternal sun is within ours. May you accept God, however
you accept God, to be as a pin of peace,

(48:16):
not a weapon of war. Good day to you, my friend.

Speaker 1 (48:22):
And thank you to mister Eric. Of course you can
ask your own questions to Eric. Just come join us
on one of our in the Arms of Eternity on Fridays.
I have a big favor to ask to some of
you long time listeners. If you're new, I know you've
got plenty of episodes to go through, but if you've

(48:43):
been around for a while and this show has made
a difference, will you help me get it out to
more people. I'm looking for new creative ways to do that.
Certainly I ask if possible, however you listen to this,
if you could leave a review, would be great. It
helps those platforms share it to more people. Also, I

(49:06):
now have the domain name shadesof the Afterlife dot com,
so if there's a particular episode you want to share
on social media, you can find it there and then
press share. I've tried the route of paid advertising and
things like that, but the truth is most people trust friends,
so people listen due to a friend's recommendation. So if

(49:29):
you have any ideas how to get Shades of the
Afterlife into the most amount of people's ears, because we
know people are grieving, we know people are looking for answers,
so feel free to email me Sandra Champlain at gmail
dot com. And also as a reminder, my home base
is we Don't Die dot com. Click on the store
page you can see everything coming up and our Sunday

(49:52):
