Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hell, we suck at being newlyweds with Dean Aungler, Kaylen Mlurkey,
and Jared haven An iHeartRadio podcast. Hey everybody, happy Fourth
of July, America's birthday. We are What year was that,
seventeen seventy six, I don't know, We're world, We're old

(00:20):
as a country. Jared here, Dean here, Kayln here. We're
doing a special Fourth of July episode. It's gonna be
a little shortened version.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
But you guys got things to do, Fireworks, to go see, burgers,
to eat all that good stuff.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Dean Kylin, how you doing. You got any plans for
the fourth.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Jared, thank you so much for asking that We're doing great.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
How are you? You know, just living the dream? Do
you guys like going to see fireworks?

Speaker 4 (00:49):
I I am not a big holiday person.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
Hate holidays.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Part of it is because part of it is because
holidays are always chance to bring the family together. Though
I've got my own family issues. Fourth of July is
the best holiday of the year because there's.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
No expectation to meet up with your family.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
If you do, sure that's great, but it's always a
chance for you to get together with your friends, get
outside the weather's always nice in Colorado. At least in
Vegas it might be one hundred and twenty degrees.

Speaker 5 (01:17):
Who knows.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Growing up in Colorado, it's always perfect. It's like eighty degrees,
usually sunny. You get your friends together, you start grilling
up some hot dogs, some hamburgers, you get a slip.

Speaker 5 (01:27):
And slide out, you start flying some kites. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:31):
You can do so many things on Fourth July. It's
all about being together with your friends and grilling and
who doesn't love that. It's literally the best holiday of
the year.

Speaker 6 (01:39):
In my opinion, it is my favorite holiday too. I
feel like my favorite memories from being a kid were
Fourth of July. Yeah, I'm not a big firework person,
like I could go without the fireworks, but the whole
day is so fun.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
No expectations, there's no like remorse if you don't see anyone,
so you could like to hear own thing if you want.
It just is the perfect holiday. You can party if
you want to, you don't have to. You can overeat,
it's okay, and the food is so good like Thanksgiving
food is good, but Fourth of July food is.

Speaker 7 (02:07):
Good like so many chips and dips.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
Chips and dips.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
I could literally eat eight hot dogs in a day
on Fourth of July.

Speaker 5 (02:14):
That's what I'm gonna go for.

Speaker 7 (02:16):
Don't count.

Speaker 5 (02:17):
Oh man, I could go on and on about how
great Fourth of July is. Jared, what are you? What
are your thoughts?

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yeah, the grilling's great, Soggy's hot dogs, cheeseburgers just fresh
off the grill, phenomenal chips and dips.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yeah, I'm fine with it.

Speaker 5 (02:30):
I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it right now.

Speaker 7 (02:32):
See what I mean.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
I know it's so close.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Indeed, I love it because, yes, I'm a holiday I'm
a holiday guy. I'm not a birthday guy or like
we talked about last week, a Father's Day guy. But
I do love holidays. I love Thanksgiving, I love Christmas.
I love the food. Fourth July is in that category
as well, because you get together. I love playing, so
I love cookouts because I love I love the game

(02:58):
of bags cornhole you my call. It's it's just God,
such a glorious game. And love playing that. But it's
tough now with the kid because if I'm playing that,
that means Ashley's taking care of Dawson. So I you know,
there's a little split seas. It's no longer like, oh, Ashley,
you go hang over here, I'm going to go play bags.
It's like we got to take turns now because I
can't just you know, have her watch Dawson the entire cookout.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
The beautiful Cornhall.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Though it's made to be played one handed, so you
could have Dawson in the left hand thrown with the
right hand.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, that's it, Dawson in my left hand. But then
we'll probably suck and then I'll be angry, so rather
just try to win. I do love fireworks, So every
single year there's fireworks obviously in our town, and I
love going to them because talk about nostalgia. We go there,
you know, as a kid, we would go there every
single year and it's by a beach right next to

(03:47):
our house, so we would have to park and walk
to the beach, and it's always crowded and everybody gets
together from like the whole town. It's a lot of fun,
and so I try to go there every single year.
Ashley makes fun of me because, like, talk about a
towny event, the most touwnty event you'll ever seen in
your retire life.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
But I love it because it's like that.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
So trying to turn Ashley onto that it's been a
little bit difficult. She likes to do her own thing,
which I totally get, especially her family's not here.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
But we're I'm gonna try to do that.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I think those are usually on the third, and then
of course the fourth is great because it's just you know,
you're cooking out, you're having burgers, you're chilling out.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
I guess that's really it for the fourth.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
So what are your plans for this fourth?

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Oh, I don't know. Hopefully go to cook out, to
the beach. Well, I'm working in the morning.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
I mean, it is nice in New England because you know,
very you know, patriotic up here. Everybody's got the flags out.
There's a Fourth of July parade in Bristol. It's actually
so Bristol is a town in Rhode Island and the
Fourth of July parade there is the oldest Fourth of
July parade in the entire country.

Speaker 5 (04:48):
I thought Bristol was in Connecticut.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
There is a Bristol, Connecticut as well, but there's a Bristol,
Rhode Island. And yeah, this parade is very popular, very
difficult to get into because it's just packed, so unless
you want to spend hours in traffic because you know,
it's just very you know, everybody wants to go to
the oldest parade in the United States. So that's pretty
cool having that in Rhode Island. But also we just

(05:12):
got our grass and redone, so like having green grass
and being able to like go outside a right around
just the fourth for me, now it's summer, the fourth
of July. I know, you guys live in the West Coast,
so it's obviously a little bit different, but like East
Coast because of the weather, it's and especially like the
tourism in New England because you got Newport and Narragansett

(05:34):
here and then a little bit north you have Cape Cod, Kentucky,
got Black Island. Like when the fourth of July hits,
it's like, okay, now summer is here because everybody is
out and about. It's tourists season, one on one all
the way up till September. So the next two months
is it's right up there with my favorite time of year.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
You know.

Speaker 7 (05:54):
Sason'll be good with the fireworks.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Uh no, he'll be terrible. He can't go to fireworks.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Oh he'll he'll cry and he'll cry, and I don't
blame him. It's a loud bang. He doesn't know what
the hell is going on. He thinks we're getting bombed.

Speaker 7 (06:08):
Would you have a baby headphones?

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Oh, that's not a bad idea, because he'll like the
visual of them. I mean, he'll yeah, the colors exploding.
That's not a bad idea.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Well, I got to look on an Amazon right now, see
if I can get that in before Tuesday.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
I'm sure you could.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
I like the I like the fireworks too, but I'm
also not a big firework guy like Kaitlin.

Speaker 5 (06:29):
I mean, I'm you're a girl, dude.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
You know it's so annoying and I love my parents
so much, but like, this is the definition of an
old person's Facebook. I don't know if you guys have
come across this, but how many times people will record
five straight minutes of fireworks and post it on Facebook
and it's like, who is watching this?

Speaker 5 (06:51):
Right?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
It's like the It's like our generation's equivalent of going
to a concert and taking two minut on videos.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
Have a concert and you're like, this is so sick,
But then you watch it back and you know.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Dude, my dad is literally just on his phone, just
like recording, like, oh that was a good one. Oh,
I think that's the Willow firework. And he's just recording
fireworks for like three straight minutes. And then we'll upload
that video on Facebook with the caption you know, love
Fourth of July fireworks, and it's like who is I

(07:22):
just I never was able to comprehend that, Like who what?
Who is watching your grainy ass video of these town
fireworks and thinking like, damn, that's the Fourth of July
right there.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
That's gonna be us probably in ten years or so.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
No, we'll have our own thing.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
I already kind of feel I already see it happening
sometimes with like me, Sometimes the things that I post,
I'm like, I'm exactly like our parents' generation, where.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Not exactly what. I can see the process beginning, well,
like the gen.

Speaker 7 (07:54):
Zers are probably like oh yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:56):
Yeah, exactly. I could see it from like a twenty
year old's perspective, like what is he doing? Yeah? But yeah, no,
I love Fourth of July.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
I looking forward to this one. So we're gonna be
in Colorado for it. I think we're not sure exactly
where yet, but our friends are planning on meeting us
out there while we're there, and hopefully.

Speaker 7 (08:14):
Aspen, that's what I'm crossing my fingers for.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
That'd be great.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
It could be Aspen, could be Silverthorne, could be rocking
about National Park. It's funny because I was just talking
about how great it is because we're gonna be grilling
and partying and all that stuff.

Speaker 5 (08:26):
We're not really gonna be doing any of that stuff
this year. We could grill. I guess did you just
say jelly ride, Tell you Tell your Ride?

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (08:34):
I was like, what what is this?

Speaker 7 (08:37):
Okay, Jelly Ride Colorado.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
That's freaking awesome.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
So yeah, so we're not really gonna be doing that,
but we will be with some friends hopefully. Uh they're
gonna be driving up from California, so who knows if
we'll actually be able to make it. But yeah, it's
just I agree with you Jared too. It is really
like a turning point in the It's it's when you
know spring is over and summer has begun, and so
it's like it's the days.

Speaker 5 (09:10):
Are just longer, the weather's nicer. Oh, it's just the
best time of year.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
It really, it's just the best and friends aside just
from a weather standpoint, it's great. The days are long,
the weather is beautiful. Yeah, it's just it's a good time.
So for all of you listeners out there, I hope
you guys have great Fourth of July's. I hope you
get to eat some hot dogs, some vegan dogs whatever
it is, some hamburgers, some veggie hamburgers, whatever they are.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
And also for a uh, of course, a movie recommendation.
You know, you gotta watch Jaws right around the fourth
of July because that's when the movie takes place. Oh, yeah,
you have to. It's Jaws because the whole point of
the movie is that he wants to keep the beaches
open for the Fourth of July.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
H we'll probably pass on that one.

Speaker 7 (09:53):
We're gonna also never seen Jaws.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
I've never seen Jaws either.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Wow, what you guys have never seen mean Jaws that
you're out of your minds.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Well, we we're young, we're young bucks.

Speaker 7 (10:05):
We support uh sharks and yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
Team Shark, So we want to see we want to
see Jaws from like the where the sharks win.

Speaker 7 (10:15):
Yeah, they're not that bad, they're not that many.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
I'm not saying they're bad, but you know, there's it's
just like humans. There's you know, there's got to be
a bad seed in there somewhere, and they just made
a movie about the bad seed shark.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
They need it from the perspective of the shark where
he's like protecting his family from these humans that are
trying to like swim.

Speaker 6 (10:33):
Oh yeah, there's actually like a big shark massacre going
on in Florida, or there was last summer.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
So Team Shoks massacre.

Speaker 7 (10:41):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I don't want sharks to die.

Speaker 7 (10:46):
Yeah, there's people in Florida hunting them. They were last year.

Speaker 6 (10:48):
I don't know if it's still going on anyways, that
took a turn.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
That took a turn. Team Shark for Life.

Speaker 4 (10:56):
I mean, we won't watch jows, but we will watch
We should find a movie to watch. And Fourth of
July definitely, maybe like Home Alone.

Speaker 7 (11:03):
No, that's Christmas Home Alone.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Have you seen it?

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yes, I've seen it during the holiday season.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
There's got to be a good Fourth of July movie
out there. Oh you want to know what it's a
good Fourth of July movie, mister Deed's No, we'll watch that.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
No, yeah, what I mean, I know we love Adam
Sandley here on this podcast, but mister Deeds is not
a very good one fourth of July movie is hold on,
we got to write this podcast up, but I need
to know, like because I've always disassociated you know, Jaws,
but obviously you know team Shark over here.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
Oh dude, we're forgetting.

Speaker 7 (11:38):
The biggest one Independence Day.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Independence Day.

Speaker 5 (11:43):
That is correct.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
That doesn't feel like a feel good Fourth of July movie,
though I want to watch like a feel good movie.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
You're telling me Independence Day is not a feel good movie.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
When Jeff Goblum and Will Smith go up to the
Mothership and blow it up, it's a feel good way
for you.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
It's a it's a good movie, don't get me wrong.
But I think Sam Lot, yeah, I guess, so know yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Fourth of July.

Speaker 2 (12:03):
Yeah, I mean obviously they go to the fireworks in
the movie, uh, and.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Then born on the fourth of July. But that's a
little bit of a depressing one.

Speaker 5 (12:11):
So we might even watch Top Gun.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Oh dude, I salute you, you guys, one hundred percent
fourth of July movie.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
Top Gun Maverick.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
No Top Gun original.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
Kaitlin walked out of the Top Gun Maverick and she's like,
that's the best movie I've ever seen in my life.
I was like, Kaitlyn, you didn't ever even saw the original. Yep,
that's a testament to how good the new one is.

Speaker 7 (12:32):
I loved the new one. Let's watch a new one.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
So we just watched the first one, get the like
the pre lore, and then we could have a better
I've watched them.

Speaker 7 (12:39):
All after how many one.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
First one's great, don't get me wrong, it's nostalgic, it's fantastic.
But the second one it's so good. Yes, it is
so definitely the superior film. So Jared, you guys watch Jaws.

Speaker 4 (12:54):
Uh in Bristol, Rhode Island in Jelly Red, Colorado, will
be watching Top Gun.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
All right, fair, and we'll report back next to you
can share our experiences with each other. Love it, love it,
love you, Love you for listening. Not Jared.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
I love him, but I'm talking about you, the listener.
I'm looking you right in the eyes, and I'm saying
I love you very much. Thank you so much for
listening to this podcast. Caitlin, I love you very much.

Speaker 7 (13:18):
I love you too.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
You don't mean it.

Speaker 7 (13:21):
I love you so much.

Speaker 5 (13:22):
I don't believe you get a room.

Speaker 7 (13:25):
I mean it.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
She doesn't mean it.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
Anyways, that's gonna do it for this very special Fourth
of July episode. We're sorry it's short, but we, like
Jared said, we know you got your festivities to get
to you got your hot talks to start grill, and
so stop listening to us, get to it, start start
celebrating the independence of this great country. A great country, debatable,
but we live here, so we have no choice.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
It's a great country.

Speaker 5 (13:49):
Yeah, just just a little.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
We have issues, no too ys about it. But why
are we even talking about this. Let's talk about this
right now.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
Positives only old return in this year seventeen seventy six
minus twenty twenty three, so it's.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Twenty four, two hundred and twenty four, it's two hundred
and forty seven years.

Speaker 5 (14:11):
Three years, two fifty.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
That's gonna be. That's gonna be a good year. Twenty
twenty six. Oh, just transport me forward in time to
twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Two fifty years. Yeah, damn, I said, you.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
Say, you said old. As far as countries go, we're
like the very very younger brother.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
Yeah, we are very young.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
So yeah, anyways, two hundred and forty sixth birthday for America.

Speaker 5 (14:33):
God bless America.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
And I hope you guys all have a great, great
Fourth of July weekend. Stay safe, don't drink and drive.
