Speaker 1 (00:00):
Scrubbing In with Becca Tilly and Tanya red An iHeartRadio podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Hello, everybody. We are scrubbing in in. Today's episode is
a very special one because we have a very exciting
guest scrubbing in today.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
We have Royalty here with us.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
We have Gray's Anatomy Royalty, and we did not wear scrubs,
but that's because we I want to get a cute
photo of us together because I wasn't here last time
she was here.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Oh yeah, I have to look. I meant to look
for her head pillow. Oh shoot, that's okay, I can
do it really quick before she comes in.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Well, we know her as doctor Joe Wilson in Gray's Anatomy,
and Tanya thinks of her as a friend that she
will one day be watching Grey's Anatomy with.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
But I thought we were long lost sister friends. But
we did never see each other again after that first
time she scrubbed in.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
So she scrubbed in again during the pandemic we did.
It was just over zoom.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
It was over zoom.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
So we're very excited to welcome back Camilla Ludington. Yes, wow,
I just want to tell y'all that she walked in
the door and looked directly at me and said, you
weren't here last time. She remember she remembered my absence.
(01:18):
I did, thank you. Yes, that means a lot here.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Both of you. I am excited too. I'm excited that
you remembered me too.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yes, I remember.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
I feel like I remember a lot of people like
I remember. I feel like I know I can recognize,
like people from an entertainment weekly that have interviewed us.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
When we've been on the show this long, we tend
to see the same people all the time. Not that
I've seen you odd guys all the time, but.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, wow, I would just like you to know that.
After that, I guess y'all ended the conversation, or maybe
it was after the podcast, Tanya was like, we should
watch an episode together. Grace nodding together, and You're like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And Tanya told me, I'm like, Tanya.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
She wanted to do a watch party with us.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
We could. I would totally do a watch party.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
And Becca goes, I doubt she's.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Nice of her. That feels like something I would say
to somebody who wanted, like back in the Bachelor days,
don't watch a Bachelor because I like the Bachelor.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
I'll watch one of your episodes with you, guys. If
you watch one of mine, you can get behind the
scenes commentary.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
That's great. We can just bed a long time since
I was on the Bachelor, but behind the scenes juice. Okay, Yeah,
I'll give you juice if you give me juice. But
I feel like your NDA is probably active and mine
is a longe. Mine's probably a little more active. Yeah,
your is a little more tight tightly like that idea.
(02:47):
It would be kind of fun. Yeah, do we get
right into anatomy I got Okay, I'm going to start
with it's.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
A lot to cover because since you've been bad, since
you've been gone, I.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Mean, it's been a million things.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
And I'm excited by the way I purposely had me
come today because I'm tired, especially if it's like an
hour long podcast. I'm tired of being like I can't
tell you guys. I want to be able to like
explain the behind the scenes what like that happened, you
know for this finale, because it was really fun in
our table read and be able to talk about it.
So that's why I'm extra excited.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
We're very excited about that too. Because that would have
been knowing how much went on. That would have been
a very hard talk if it wasn't out yet.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah, and I want to be able to talk about
all those things too.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Okay, tell you what did you want to get into.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Well, there was a lot of stuff that we covered
when you were here last time that I remember what
it was.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I know.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
So here we have a little audio.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Let me hear.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
This is a clip from last night, April first, twenty nineteen.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
Okay, what is it about Link that you like?
Speaker 1 (03:46):
Because I've heard fan feedback and I'm wondering if it's
the same reason.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
I like that he's more mature and like, I feel
like he's better with the kids. I knew you're going
to say that, and I call him Joham de Luca.
Feels like he's just focused on his career and he's
going to be like the next like make Dreamy or
whatever he is, And I just feel like he can't
give Meredith like all that she needs. And I think
Link is like past that phase and he just wants like,
(04:13):
am I talking.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
About Link for Meredith?
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Oh my god, Oh my gosh, wow, I actually kind
of forgot that that ever happened.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I know they were competing for her at the correct
I that's no memory of Link and Meredith.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
You don't remember this was twenty nineteen, right, did they ever?
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Like? I don't even think they care.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
No, I don't think they can till Luca won that
he won the battle.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
He won the battle. Yeah, that is a mill that
just that. That's a different world on our show.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
And then there was also.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
This they said that you guys are crazy on any
superfans and that they said that, do you want to
honestly know what they said?
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Okay, so they said.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
That at first a podcast started out with you guys
discussing Gray's anatomy, and then it's become about your dating
life and that you guys are terrible at dating.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
So I haven't remember saying that.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
How did I get looped into terrible at dating? We
were we both were. I didn't date, Yes, you did?
Who told me that information?
Speaker 3 (05:15):
These were your friends that listened?
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Oh my god? Okay, okay, yeah that's really funny.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
So we have an update. Okay, both in committed relationships now,
and I'm.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Very happy to hear this. Yeah, but I've been in
my relationship. I was in my relationship for like over
a year when when she was on the podcast.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
That's true, but we didn't know about it.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Yeah, it wasn't public. I've been with my I've been
I have a girlfriend and we've been together for five years. Amazing.
I've gotten better at dating. That's really funny. I don't
remember saying that we have one more thing.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Okay, So if there's any element potentially hurting Alex, it's
like doomsday on my Twitter.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
I hope, I really hope you guys, like really just
make it the long haul.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I really think we I really I hope so too.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
That did.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
That's just sad.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
That actually is devastating to hear.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
I know, I was listening back to the old episode
and I was like, wow, so much has changed in
the show and in real life.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
It's so crazy.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Isn't that nuts?
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah? I mean it's not surprising because when I go back,
like once in a while, this is what I do.
I don't need to hate admitting this, okay, but once
in a while I'll be like, you know, there's nothing
on TV, and I'm like, let me just go back
and like watch an episode right from like an early
season that I was on because I get tweeted stuff
all the time, and I'm like, I don't know what
picture this. I have no idea what this is from.
(06:39):
Like that's how long I've been on the show. And
so I'll go back and watch an episode and it's
so different. It feels like, it feels like the show
has had so many iterations. It's just like a different time,
different world, and so many different ways. So it's weird
to even hear me say that, because I'm like.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
No, Alex, I know, I feel none of us saw
that coming.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
No, that was heartbreaking. Yeah, well yeah it was rough.
It was rough in a letter, Yeah, that's brutal. It
felt rough.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
It was rough.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
I will say something else that felt rough, And to
be honest, I just this past week have caught up,
like fully caught up. Did you watch the finale? Yeah, yeah, okay,
I had a very I was. I was a little
mad at the Meredith Gray episode, the goodbye I was
the farewell.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
It just felt like because it didn't feel as huge
as she was going to. I think it's I think
I did see those comments on Twitter, but I think
the reason why is because a we knew that she
was going to do another episode this season. We already
knew she was going to be in the finale, and
she's voiceovering every episode, and I just think that of
(07:54):
any character she's not, it doesn't feel like she's really gone.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
I guess to us, I get it now. The audience
needed to feel more. I think the trailers for it,
the lead up for it felt like so emotional and
heavy that when the episode got here and like there
we wrote our own toast saying farewell to Mari's Gray,
we felt like we didn't get what we wanted she.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Deserves, so we gave our own sendoffs. Yeah right, but
now I get it. Now, I get it.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
I didn't realize she was gonna be narrating the episodes too,
and I didn't realize she was going to be back.
So now I guess I get it, because it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
Really like no.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
I don't even know at the time if we could
say that she was going to be back in the finale.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Uh, I'm not sure if we could say that.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
So I feel like maybe everyone thought it was going
to be like, oh, yeah, she's done and done, but
you know, yeah, she's going to be back.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
I feel like she's going to be back all the time.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Obviously no episodes are being written, ye strike, but I
think she'll be back a ton of times.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
That's what I think. I'm going to give a spoiler
alert before I give spoilers, because I never do that.
I always give a spoilert after we spoil it. So
(09:20):
I'm giving people the chance spoiler alert if you haven't watched.
I'm curious your thoughts about Joe and Link Okay.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Okay, yeah, I can talk about all these things.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Yeah, and I have like a lot of questions too.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
You do.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Do you have a specific question because I can talk
about it. But have you wanted them together?
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Not?
Speaker 2 (09:38):
Always? No? Okay, there was.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Here's how I felt about Joe and Link. I felt
and I've said this before, so this isn't like, you know, give.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
Us a breaking news bit that we can put that well,
I will, but I'll lead it up to this.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
I will say it like this though in the beginning,
when I originally I think that they were trying to
figure out, like where do Joe go from here? After
Alex right, and I actually liked the way I mean,
obviously it was a devastating way to be broken up with,
but what I liked about it that I didn't feel
like we had shown on the show before, is that
people get left and sometimes they don't get that like, hey,
(10:17):
I to talk to you about this and say all
my feelings. Sometimes you just get left and they have
to figure out their own closure. So what I liked
about it is that she did have that time where
she had like her own you know, you know, time
to herself to get her own closure. But then I
knew that like maybe Jack from Stage nineteen, I don't know,
if you watch that show, they have really similar backstories,
(10:39):
maybe Link, and I just remember thinking that they had
written the friendship so well that I was like, no,
Like she first off, she has no friends, really like.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Don't have a friends, No one likes her.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
That's actually sad. She doesn't how many times?
Speaker 1 (11:00):
So I was like, can I just keep my friend
and like not sleep with them? And also, you know,
not that not that we necessarily take into how the
fans fell into consideration as the truth, because we piss
off fans all the time in our storylines, so we can't.
But like Amelia and Link, there was a huge fandom
that really loved those two together. No you weren't a fan, No,
(11:22):
you're a fan of them, not you like whatever, Okay,
there were there was a big fandom that like loved
them together. And then they had a kid, and I
was like, let's just bring on someone new. But I
think it's hard to know if you're also going to
have chemistry with that person. But also I was wondering
if Chris and I would have chemistry because we're friends
in real life, and our friend chemistry on screen was
(11:44):
really good. So I was not sold, and I wasn't
even necessarily sold last season.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
On it.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Because he was so hung up on Amelia that I
felt like, if I'm Joe really gonna be like falling
for this person that's so into somebody else, like I
would shut that down, but which is kind of what
they wrote. And then slowly this season I've been really convinced.
And then for some reason, the way Chris played that
(12:16):
fight with me in the finale I was in I
was like, yes, like this is happening, this has to
go down, like something about like the passion fight and
being honest, I was sold.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
I personally feel like I may have leaned that way
without the hot patient.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Okay, that's what really bothers them. Sutton Page is super
cute and charming.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
What pissed me off?
Speaker 4 (12:46):
It takes some other guy coming in and swooping you
off your feet for link to get it together.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
I don't like that.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
I mean, do you, I mean, listen, do I like it?
But I'm trying to think, like.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
If he I think that it was less of a
jealousy thing, I think it would have come out eventually.
I think he was just really scared to screw up
what they had, so I think it kind of comes
from that, and then it was just like, Okay, now
she potentially has to date somebody else. Now I have
to just say it, even if it's like a bad idea.
The problem is a Sam Page is super charming and shute.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Is he dead?
Speaker 2 (13:28):
I think he died. I did not die, see, I thought.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
He died him.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
He is like he's not looking too he's like bleeding out.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
But we we Cliff Hanger hanged it, but it looked
like I don't even know what that term is. Cliff
Cliff hung it, Yeah, Cliff hung it.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
Yeah, but it appeared to me like they'd stop trying
to like, yeah, there, their hands were out of the
body like this.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Did they call time of death? No, Okay, then you
never know.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
On our show, they did not call time of death,
but he looks very dead.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
It's not looking good for Sam and Joe. I'll say that.
I think I can confirm that it's not looking good
for them.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
Is gonna die? I think he's gonna die.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
I don't know. Listen, here's the thing that I have learned.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Okay, I can say like, yeah, of course he's gonna die, right,
But the truth is is that on our show, I
feel like there's times when I really think I'm convinced
about something. I'm like, this character is dying, and then
they don't. There's like some miraculous thing that happens. And
so until I read that script, I'm not gonna say.
Speaker 4 (14:44):
It because for me personally, I wanted you with Sam,
you did what I'm saying. I wanted to see more
of it, and I was like, what, They're just gonna
kill him like that? Like this was my So here's
my like it was Denny Izzy vibes.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Yeah, I feel like I'm not a I didn't like
that storyline that Denny is. I feel so seen this
is a battle all the time. That's not Yeah, I
just wasn't like Henry devastated me more Henry and Teddy
like devastated me.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Yeah, I just yeah, I wasn't like super into that chemistry.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
But I know this is controversial. Yeah, yeah, I take
a beating every time. I like, yeah, every time I
share my truth.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
It's the hardest death for me on the show. But
it's up there, it's up there. Really yeah, yeah yeah, oh.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
I wasn't looking for that, but I liked that he
was very confident and that I was like, oh, I
could totally see them dating once he's off, once his
bones all he ninety three bones, once they were healed,
I felt like him and Joe there was like endless potential.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
I did too.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
I was really sad think that. Yeah, I think it
would have been possible. I think it only would have
been possible.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
I think also just Sam and I had good chemistry
actually as actors, like I think it just it's not
something you can help, and we just had really good
natural chemistry. And I joked with Chris, I'm like, someone's
giving you a little your mind, and but no, he was.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Just a red herring a little bit. I think that's interesting.
Would you have been happy then if because I know.
I'm curious.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
In that speech where he's like, and I'm gonna love
you like, Link says that if Joe had been like
too late, yeah, you would have been fine with it.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Yeah yeah, Oh my.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
God, I wanted you to be like, sorry, I got
a guy to save or like guy I liked.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
And when the conversation started and you were like, we
need to move out, like this, this is I can't
like basically, I can't date because you're always there. I
pack your bag, I was you were packing his bags.
I was throwing him out of the house. Ye yeah,
and Paul was ordered yeah yeah, I love it. And
then and then you walk towards them and I'm like,
(17:05):
oh no, you're like, like what she liked?
Speaker 1 (17:13):
I think that. I think that at the end of
the day, even if she had dated Sam, I think
that Link would have been.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
A what if. And I think a what if is
dangerous to have in future relationships, especially when you're basically
raising children together and living together.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
I mean that would have like I'm assuming that, you know,
if if she was dating someone else, that would have
to end. I can't imagine a guy is like okay
with that situation. But I do think that that was unresolved.
And I think that like when you're looking for the one, right,
like anything in the past needs to be resolved, and
(17:52):
they would have stayed friends, and so can I imagine
her like getting drunk at some point and having kissed
him and cheated on whoever she's.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
With, Like, yes, that's a problem. That's a good point.
Like if that like those feelings are never acknowledged or
dealt with and you make yourself move on. Yeah, is
there always that potential?
Speaker 4 (18:13):
But like you guys could go to like Poundtown for
a night and then be like did go to Poundtown?
Speaker 1 (18:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:21):
They had done that already, So that's like.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
There done that.
Speaker 2 (18:26):
She went right back into town, she left Pound and
then she came back to Legal Like.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
No, I don't think it was resolved, and I do
wonder if like they it's so sad because there was
an episode and I think it maybe would have convinced
more people too that feel this way.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
It was an.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Episode where oh it was the episode where last season
Joe and Link it's like the story book episode, like
we do we're saving someone that's on stage and they're
doing like sleeping beauty.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Oh yeah, sleeping beauty or Ponzo.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Yeah, right, Durman that episode, okay, And at the end
of that episode is his confession of like, hey, back
in the day, I used to have feelings for you, right,
And there was a version of that episode where we
flashed back and we saw them working together and what
that chemistry.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Was like way back in the day.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
Why didn't they use that?
Speaker 2 (19:24):
I don't know. Chris and I have a joke about
this because they didn't. They didn't. It's so insulting to
say this about ourselves.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
They did a makeup test on us, right to like
have us play like our younger you know, people in
our twenties, and then that got scrapped, and Chris and
I were like, they would like way too much cgi
they would have had to like broken a budget like
we Apparently we're assuming we just looked like as were
younger selves. I don't know if I can say that.
I don't know why it scrapped, because I was excited
(19:50):
to see them like waiting tables back in the day,
and I think for people that are on the fence
about them, maybe it would have like helped kind of
see what their chemistry was like and maybe yeah, more sense.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
I think my issue with Link, to be honest, is
that it's now that especially y'all bring up the Meredith thing.
It's like Meredith and Amelia, and then it was like.
Speaker 4 (20:09):
Joe and how everybody isn't gras Anatomy and they all
just go from like one nest show in it.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
That's true, but most of the guys, yeah, yeah, she,
I mean, she's kind. She has kind of been one
of the few people on the show.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, you gotta make your.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Alex Alex Avery Jackson. And then Skyler Aston last season.
Oh yeah, I dated him for a little bit. By
the way, I loved Skyler. There's a point where I
was like, can I just like these two are? But
they made him so ridiculous towards the end with like
a giant sex bear. But there was a point where
I was like, I love Skyler, Like let's keep him.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Yeah, that's hard. They just like bring people in and
you're like, oh, this is a great chemistry in the.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
Mid this is really fun, and they're like, no, there's
gonna be a cringy giant sex bear and they're gonna
be over it, and you're like, I.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Cain't never mind, oh man. But then I feel like
anybody else. No, I feel like the world. She's pretty
like ye consistent? Well, I mean krev was you couldn't
leave correct there? I was? She was very committed. Okay,
is there any world where Alex correp comes back? Now
(21:19):
you're gonna as.
Speaker 5 (21:22):
He tweeted a gray mug or something and that got
everybody all at Twitter on Twitter?
Speaker 2 (21:26):
He did he keep?
Speaker 5 (21:28):
I thought it was a.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Grays mug or like he was drinking his coffee on.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Yeah, let's look it up. Do you want to show
you sure?
Speaker 2 (21:35):
He was just feeling he was wanting to stir things up.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
He was feeling nostaldrec Is it justin Chambers? Yeah, yeah,
he's not verifying, he's yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Think that's rights might not even be his account.
Speaker 5 (21:47):
Then, No, I got it. I got picked up by
everybody there. It is because a cappuccino thing with like
the cast wrapped around it. But he captioned it with
a fresh cup of Grays is what he said, so
that it would imply that, oh, hey, look I'm back
a fresh praise, new start. But that was a long
time ago.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
It's weird though, because it looks like that's like from
our set that's not even like a mother. Really, I
want well, I mean, who knows, maybe he's had a
meeting with the writers. They don't tell me anything ever.
Do I think Alex Karev.
Speaker 2 (22:23):
Should come back? Is that my I could come back?
Oh well, I mean yeah, anyone could come back.
Speaker 5 (22:29):
Half the dead characters have come back at some point.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
But I'm listen, I we we always say this. We
have to be your own number one fans, right, Like
I am team Joe until the end, even if she
kills everyone in the hospital.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Like, I'm like team Joe, right because that's how we
have to like operate.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
But I selfishly don't want him to come back because
if he comes back, of course worse the fans will
love it because I think it would be a lot
of drama. But I think that she's at that place
where she's moved on. But I understand from a fans
point of view wanting him back. Selfishly, for Joe, I'm like, no,
(23:14):
like you don't get to come.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Back and talk to her and like, yeah, I want
him to come back and like beg for you back
and then you to be like bye, you know what
I mean?
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Yeah, But I don't think fans would. I feel like
fans wouldn't want that, though I think that they want
him to come I think when fans say they want
him to come back, I think it's in terms of.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, I do yeah, because the truth is it was written.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Really well for many, many seasons, and so people obviously
were very invested.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Those are two characters that I thought were, yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
You know, going to have babies and do the whole thing,
which is really strange for Grace, not me, and stupid
because everyone explosions happen. But but selfishly I don't want
him to come back.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
But as an actress, don't you want drama. You don't
want happily ever after. That's boring. If you and link
just fall in love and get together and you live
happily ever after this, that's not interesting or exciting to play, right.
Speaker 1 (24:16):
Well, these versions of it that are exciting to play.
I think there's lots of things within a relationship that
are exciting to play, and we don't.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Have to always blow every relationship up. Sometimes.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
I think that like another love triangle is actually more
boring because you have so many of them on different shows,
So be interested to see, like, what is it like
with two best friends.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
I don't know, like there's I think there's arguments for
and against. I like the idea of him coming back
and Joe being like, no, I've moved on from you,
and then him being in the hospital having to watch it.
I kind of like that the tension of them.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Don't you think though, that most a lot of fans
would be hoping that they get back together.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
I don't see. We did that with cal Zona. We
did that with Arizona and Cali, and we like barely
got it at the end where they were like, yeah,
we're gonna go to New York last minute, but we're like,
that's true.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
But like Jackson in April, we kind of have these
moments where like this happens again.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (25:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
I'd like to see that in the series finale. So
whenever that I.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
Want dead Sam to come back, well, well.
Speaker 2 (25:25):
He might on the beach, on the beach, anything's possible.
He might. Yeah. When you because you and your husband
(25:49):
are both actors, right, yes? Is there. I'm curious because
my my girlfriend's a singer and actress and I'm not
so when she goes to do work things that are
just work, I'm always like hmm, how was it, like, like,
because y'all are both in the industry, is there any
(26:11):
of that because like when you talk about like, oh,
I had really good chemistry with him.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Is it like is that awkward or is it just
kind of like No, I think it's like a super
technical It becomes like a super technical thing because I
think that he understands what I mean by good chemistry
because if he goes, like he's working on a show
right now, So if he comes home and he's and
I say, I ask him like, do you guys have chemistry?
Speaker 2 (26:34):
And he'll be like, yeah, yeah, we you know, or
he'll be like I don't you know, and.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
It's not I think the understanding is I'm not saying
like do you want to bang that m Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
And I'm not.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
I think he knows that that's not what I'm saying too.
It's just a very it just becomes a very technical
like y'all just.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Get it because you're both in it. Yeah, yeah, maybe
it would help because don't you feel like you have
co host chemistry? Yeah, but we're not kissing or making
out or having like sex scenes.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
That's true, but your job together this this as much
as that is, like, yes, I'm kissing something, I get that,
but it's still our job. And so it's a version
of even what you guys have, because you might get
on a show with somebody else and not. Yeah, so
(27:31):
it's like whatever that means to you guys, it's.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
That version for us. That's nice. It's nice that we're
making out.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
And you know, it would be so hard for me
to date, to date an actor, you.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Think, so, yeah, I think if you're not an actor,
it would be very That's what I'm saying. I think
I think that both of you having that is probably
makes it easier because I mean.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Your girlfriend have to go and make out with people
on own show, like she does.
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Her music videos like We're he directs them and she's
on them, and there's you know, love stories and makeouts
and whatever, and I'm just like, have fun at work.
See you. If you were like and I'm going to
go to work and make out, yeah, if I was like,
if I was you and I was like, oh, I
gotta go, Jesse Williams, actually have a so I'll see
(28:19):
you tonight for dinner, right like that, I'd feel great
about if I had that so bad? Yeah, yeah, and
we can't seem to get it right, so we keep
having to it for whatever reason.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
So we had to go two days with it.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Yeah yeah, well no, that would be weird. I was like,
we're on day two of this one kiss. You just
can't get right. Really, I can't seem to the angles
not right, the lighting there, just miss my light every time.
It's so strange. No, that doesn't happen, but I do.
I understand it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
Yeah, and the optics of it are hard. But also
I'm on an ABC show and so it's very different.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
My husband and I weren't even dating when I was
on California Occasion, and I think that like when you're
butt naked having like your own Game of Thrones.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
With John, you know, like it's a different situation.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
I mean, I'm on our show. I'm like having sex
and a onesie. It's like it's like it's not very raunchy,
it's not like Yeah, so I think he's probably thankful
of any show that I'm on.
Speaker 2 (29:30):
It's been like an ABC show.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
You've kind of become the Queen Bee of Grays.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yeah, we were talking about this.
Speaker 4 (29:37):
Yeah, like that way, like I think obviously it was
Meredith Gray for so like Ellen Pompeo for so long
because it was Grey's anatomy. Yeah, but now that she's
kind of taken like a back seat, I kind of
feel like you are the new like Queen Bee on
the show. Yeah, and like off the show like I
was when I was watching, you were doing these commercials,
You're doing all these Instagram face backstage.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
Really, I've never heard that, really like.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
I feel like you are the new, the new Queen.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
It does feel right. I've been waiting to say that
it's true, though I've never heard that. I don't know
if that's true.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
I think it is.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Really. Yeah, I don't embrace it.
Speaker 3 (30:21):
It's good because if I watch the.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Show, it's not like I don't feel like Joe is
like centered on the show as like in the same way.
Speaker 2 (30:28):
You know. Oh, I was going to ask you about
this because when you said you went back and watch
old episodes. Yeah, because when I watch it now, I've
actually been watching some older episodes. But when I watch
it now, I feel like there's so many storylines that
are happening all at once within the hour that it's
like you don't get to like, you don't there's not
this like deep focus on couples. You know, it's like
(30:52):
more like there's so much going on that we're like
jumping from scene to scene and it's like, oh wait,
wit didn't what happened there?
Speaker 1 (30:57):
You know?
Speaker 2 (30:58):
Did you feel do you feel that when you watch
old episodes? I think it depends on like the show.
Speaker 1 (31:05):
We've had different people kind of run the show over
the years, and so I can see the transition from
like Stacy who kind of like to have storyline, you know,
if you had to fight in an episode, like it
would extend for a long time, and then Christ is different,
you know, and then Tony and Joan, and so I
think it's a different There are different points in time
on the show where it's a different style, which is
(31:26):
really interesting to watch. But even now, like in the finale,
I felt like there's there is a time. I mean,
in our two hour finale, how many storylines do.
Speaker 2 (31:36):
We have going on?
Speaker 4 (31:37):
So many?
Speaker 2 (31:37):
So many? Yeah, but I did I did feel like
in the finale. Maybe it was because it was the
solid two hours, but I felt like there there was
like wrap ups of like most of the things that
happened at the end, so it didn't feel like too
open ended. But when I I just feel like there's
more characters or something, so many No, now oh now
there yeah, yeah, so.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
You're feeling now ye're not back in the day, you
were saying back in the day, there are so many stories.
They're saying, now, yeah, that makes more sense to me.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
I agree, No, no, no, I do feel that way. Now.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
Yes, I feel like there's a lot. But I think
that especially this season, we had to we bought on
new people, right, so we have to establish them and
hopefully have fans invested. Yeah, and so it does like
naturally what happens is it splits up camera time right
for everybody, and then hopefully, you know, people end up
(32:35):
being How do you guys feel about the new interns?
You're not invested, y out or you're invested kind of
some invest in some who do you like? It was
like so fun because you guys have a doory on
the show, right, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yeah, I'm actually interested in her storyline with Helm, like
I I hope that there's like some development there. It
felt a little rut like the finale it was like, oh,
you're my day, We're gonna kiss it. It felt like
a little rush, But I'm like hopefully there's some something there.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
But do you like because I it's so interesting because
we read the script, we have a you know, a
table read, and then I'm watching it at the same
time with everybody else the first time, and so some
people's chemistry. I'm like, I have no idea what it's
really like, and I feel like little Shepherd and Yes
have really cute chemistry.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
I was so into that, and then I got really
bothered by the guy coming back and proposing engagement and
like ruining it. It really threw me.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
I have to mess with it right, like it can't
go well okay, but that's what I'm saying. That felt rush.
It was like all of a sudden he comes in.
We're like, who is this guy? And then he by
the end of the episode, he's proposed to her and
we're like, wait, wait what We're just you know what
I'm saying. But I will say I really like I
like them together. I'm glad she went back to Adams.
(33:55):
But yeah, I feel like they the new interns to me,
seems so young to me compared to like when we
watch like the original. Yeah, oh geez, they are you
know what's so funny?
Speaker 1 (34:11):
I don't. They're a little bit younger in real life.
But actually my intern class was younger than this intern class.
We were We're like twenty eight, twenty five something like that. Yeah,
and they I just think that they probably maybe look
a little bit younger than we looked perhaps, or.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
They're all like the storylines that where they seem a
little more like lost.
Speaker 4 (34:34):
Yeah that's true. Wait maybe Yeah, this is like kind
of random but not so random. Teddy's gonna be fine, right, Oh.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
That's a that was Cliff high I I do you
think I can honestly like say that on this show
right now?
Speaker 4 (34:47):
Well, she's signed on for next season, so she's got
to be fine. Because she's signed on for a new season.
Speaker 2 (34:52):
That doesn't mean she she still has If she signed on,
she can still be laying in a bed while they're
trying to save her.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Yeah you could technically, I guess to be killed off
like episode two.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Oh you're right, yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (35:04):
I saw that and everyone was like, hah, they spoiled it.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
She has a new contract, and I was like, oh,
that was me. I saw you. I saw your tweet. Yeah,
I like, how tonya trying to slide that in there?
She's like, I did want to ask you, is Teddy
gonna list?
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Just trying to catch it on huge just a huge spoiler,
that main spoiler, that main storyline.
Speaker 4 (35:28):
You know what, last time you were here, you told
us how Kevin McKidd was like really awesome, and we
were telling you how we hated Owen.
Speaker 3 (35:36):
We just like, yeah, I hate So we had Kevin
McKidd on the podcast.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Did you tell.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Kevin has his own gripes about Owen too.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Well, he was so cool about it, like he was
so YEA loved him. Yeah, he really turned me. And
now I'm like an Owen Stan.
Speaker 2 (35:56):
No, you're not, You're not an Owen Stan.
Speaker 5 (36:00):
You know what I was?
Speaker 2 (36:01):
You like Kevin mckinn. You're right correct, Yeah, but I was.
Speaker 3 (36:06):
I did not differentiate them for many many years. They
were one and the same.
Speaker 2 (36:10):
Yeah, we did have a hard time with that.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
But now I'm so into him, which makes me enjoy
the show more.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
I think it's hard sometimes to like differentiate like the
care because if you meet someone in real life and
they're like terrible, Yeah, then that character that you used
to like, oh so, I mean I'm sure he has
swung it a little bit back in his own direction.
Speaker 3 (36:29):
He was so funny about it too, That's what really.
Speaker 2 (36:32):
Yeah, he really embraced me. He did embrace the news.
Speaker 1 (36:35):
Yeah, well, I mean Kevin if you like what's great
about Kevin?
Speaker 2 (36:39):
And I love this.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
I feel like everyone's kind of like this is that
as actors we own like, yeah, my god, they make
terrible mistakes and why would they do that?
Speaker 5 (36:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (36:47):
And he was like, did you feel bad when Teddy
cheated on me?
Speaker 2 (36:49):
I was like, no, you.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Funny, It was really funny.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
Who's your best friend?
Speaker 1 (36:56):
Like?
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Who do you have a best friend on set? Like,
I know you said that you and Chris are good friends,
really good friends.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Are our families in the pandemic like basically potted up together?
Speaker 2 (37:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (37:08):
So our little girls are really close. So I Kai
is a year older than Hayden, and they're really close,
and we do like Disneyland together, and you know, I mean,
now everything's opened back up and they moved a little
bit further away, so it's hard to get together and
we moved too. But I think that Kim Raver is
like my best girlfriend on set. I feel like I
(37:31):
could knock on her trailer door and be like Oh
my god, I'm having a terrible like I could tell
her anything.
Speaker 2 (37:36):
Yeah, I just love her.
Speaker 3 (37:38):
Yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Love Kim. I love Teddy, like I love the character Teddy,
but like Kim Raver was like amazing on the podcast.
I was like, she is so cool. Yeah, she's so fun. Yeah,
I feel like she's like a girl's girl, Like she's
just great.
Speaker 1 (37:55):
But to be honest, like, and we talk about this
all the time, and we've talked about this again because
we've had new people joints. Never know actors are we're
all crazy, like it's coming on. So we had interns
join and everyone's awesome. It was wild that we have
a cast of like fifteen seven, twenty five I don't know,
(38:17):
and everyone's like really genuinely great and there's not like
any like actress like rivalry or anything like that on
our show. It's kind of bizarre.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
Well that's great because in the past, Grace has kind
of been known for.
Speaker 2 (38:33):
There you were, you the peacemaker. You were the peacemaker.
I don't think that's what happened to the Queen what'd
you call it, the Queen Queen, Yeah, the Queen Bee.
Speaker 5 (38:43):
Yeah, yeah, you implied earlier that you might have a
story from the table read for the finale. I wanted
to make sure we heard that.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
If there is one, Oh, I just well it was
our from the finale. It was our very first time
in person since the pandemic, so we hadn't been in
p've been on Zoom and you guys, you would be
We're so embarrassing as a cast on Zoom, Like it's
like we have like AOL dial up, like nobody, like
(39:09):
we can't get anything to work. So our table reads
are always kind of terrible because like people's sound cuts out.
People are to mute and they're like munching on chips,
so like all these things that all the all the
chemistry that you have and like a real life table
has kind of gone. And by the way, we're all muted,
so it's like if you have a joke, you can't
even tell if it's like playing well because no one's
(39:30):
it's a silence, right. So we had a first m
person table read for the finale.
Speaker 2 (39:34):
It was amazing.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Shonda showed up, didn't tell us that she was was
gonna be there, so shot on MS showed up for
the finale, which was like, it still makes me nervous
to like read in front of her because I'm like,
oh my god, Yeah, it's just talking about Queen Bee.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
I mean, like Shonda Rhymes.
Speaker 1 (39:47):
But it was so emotional, and I don't think I
realized how emotional. Like, I know you're not a fan
of this Link speech, but like that speech that Link
gives her, Like I was just like in tears in
the final and it was just the chemistry between everyone
was incredible.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
It's just awesome. I just loved it.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Yeah, if you want Joan Link to be together, I'll
like it.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
If he does something bad, then I'll be back on
the show being like.
Speaker 2 (40:13):
No, screw him. I'm team Joe always. Yeah, goes down badly,
Remember she kills everyone, She's still team Joe. Still Joe.
There's a reason for it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (40:24):
I've always been team Joe too, Like, I've never strayed
from from you as a character.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
I've always liked even since day one.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
Yeah, you haven't really done anything. I don't think it's
a season that I am less Team Joe.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
The season where and I think I just didn't really
understand the reason behind what she was doing. But there's
a season where her and Jerika Stephanie best friend on
the show back then she had a friend. It was
really really nice.
Speaker 2 (40:58):
She runned.
Speaker 1 (40:59):
She was just like kind of rude to her for
a few episodes, and I remember thinking like why like
that and that, and when things don't make sense to me,
it has a kind of makes sense to me. It
didn't make sense to me that she was just suddenly
being rude to her. I was last team Joe during
that season. Interesting but in general, yeah, did you like her? Yeah,
she was having an off time.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Yeah, we all have her off moment. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah,
she wasn't great. You okay, we always ask I don't
know if you asked this last time. If you get
to you get to choose your exit. You get the note, Hey,
Joe is a goner, whether it's death or just an exit.
What's your ideal goodbye for Joe Wilson.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
There's a part of me, oh my god, I shouldn't
say this. There's a part because of Ridles be like, yes,
there's a part of me that like, the dramatic death
is kind of iconic, right, yeah, but I don't want
to see that dramatic death myself of her. I get it,
like I kind of you know. And also I think
it is nice to be able to come back on
(42:05):
the show and make a surprise entrance again, which obviously
is done if you're unless the beach happens again, and then.
Speaker 2 (42:11):
You never know, you never know. I would love it
if I have two versions of it.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
I would love it if Addison came back and was like,
come with me to private practice and Joe went and
worked with Addison, or Jessica Capshaw came back and I
was like, I want to see you fetal surgery and
she went off.
Speaker 2 (42:34):
With Arizona and then they fell in love.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
I mean, I never know, you never know.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
I don't think you know. It's funny because I have
a lot of people.
Speaker 1 (42:43):
Addison and Addie and I did a scene, a couple
of scenes together this season. We performed an abortion, which
is the first, like by the way, step by step
on screen medical abortion that has ever been shown, which
is kind of amazing, surgical abortion. And people started to
like really like the idea of Joe and her together
like it does a couple has a couple. Yeah, And
(43:07):
it was interesting because it made me think, has Joe
ever said like what sexuality, like how she identified I
have no idea, Like, could it be that Joe Wilson
is bisexual? Yes, I feel like it's totally possible. She's
never said it.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
No, no, and I never said it and I fell
in love with a woman. You just sometimes you don't know.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (43:29):
Yeah, so I mean never say never.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
Writers better, This is better than link.
Speaker 2 (43:36):
You don't like I'm gonna call Chris on the way out.
These girls are not a fan. We really like Chris.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Yes, Chris on the show and his wife in the pandemic.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
So it was like, you have Chris and his wife. Yeah,
are they so cute? They're so cute.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
It was over zoom because it was during the pandemics.
It wasn't like they were great.
Speaker 2 (43:58):
I feel like i'd feel comped. I feel comfortable being
like I don't I think Joe can do better.
Speaker 3 (44:03):
Yeah, I would tell Joe's face too, because you're fans
of the show.
Speaker 2 (44:07):
