Ashley I Almost Famous podcast with IR Radio. The stars
have aligned, the people have come out, and we have

(00:42):
started Colton season of the Batchelor. I'm here with my
favorite co host, Ashley Kennetie, you don't have much of
a choice. There a couple of years now and you
hear a couple of laughs in the background. Please introduce yourselves.
This is Garrett. You're going hello. I am Becka Kouffrin. Yeah,

(01:04):
your last name has never appeared on any Bachelor saying no,
no one knows my last name. Nobody knows how to
say your last name. Coop cooing, Okay, I think they
may have gone over this on our podcast before. Yeah. Well,
the reason I didn't introduce him is because I have
no idea how to seek your last name. Okay, I
know we've got the cookfering thing on on the podcast,
but we've definitely knocked over how to say garrett sname. Garrett,

(01:24):
say your lesson again. You're going, You're going in, You're
going like you're going to the bathroom. Are you going
to take that challenging name, Garrett? Um, Well, we've talked
about hyphenating koufreing. You're going. I don't know how long
that to your kids. That's what I talked to her

(01:44):
mom about it, you know, and she said, well, she said,
if you would like to hyphenate your name, but then
it would be too complicated for the kids. I know,
but I kind of want to keep both of us in.
You know, the kids would have both, they'd have the
hyphen name, I think, and you're going, we go with
your going for the kids. Yeah, I literally cannot think
of a harder last name for any poor child people

(02:05):
on their toes. It'll keep the printing press in business,
especially with the sweatshirts with the last name on the back.
It'll be we'll make it work. Um, that's not a
bad people, that's really good. That was good. Ever. Yeah,
he's gonna be great on this. So we've brought the
two of them out to co host Almost Famous podcast

(02:27):
as we love to during the Bachelor's season. We love
to bring people and especially you know, some of the
fans favorites. We saw a lot of fan favorites to
night before we get into the episode. What did you
all think? Obviously, Ashley, you just got done hosting uh
an event here in Park City that we're all a
part of. Um, what do you think of that? For
the first episode? I think it was a pretty much

(02:47):
a standard first episode. I feel like maybe they try
to jazz it up with you know, the extra parties
and all that, which is was a fantastic idea as
far as I'm concerned. But I do you think it
was like a pretty formulaic premiere episode? Uh? There. I
will say there wasn't that many standout exits, Like there

(03:08):
wasn't like, oh my god, there was that girl who
did that? S done? Or that's done? You know, not
too many stunts this year and actually the only two
stunts that really um jump out at me. Were two
girls that were eliminated, and that was the sloth and
the Cinderella Girl. I was hoping the sloth made it
another round. I'm surprised she did it. You know, slow
and steady wins the rate I'm gonna take out there.

(03:31):
She committed to the sloth harder than Alexis committed to
the Shark. She was. She was very dedicated to that,
like she committed to it. I think she did herself
an injustice by being a slot. What did you all
think about having like the kind of breakouts across the country, having,
you know, some a bachelination favorites hosting those. I think
it was fun. I mean, it's the first one that

(03:52):
we've ever taken part in, and it was fun too
because I've watched the show for a while now. But
to get the full audience reaction, I'm like, come on, people,
we knew this was gonna happen or you could see
that from a mile away, so it's kind of interesting
to hear the gasps and laughs and all that. I
have to say that some of the best moments of
tonight's episode came from the live segments. There were the

(04:15):
two proposals, which were emotion invoking. There was Sammy who
lost her mind over you Ben. That was a fantastic
movement and uh, I don't know, I liked it. It It
was so much fun. The Garrett what do you think?
I mean? You came out here, You're you've been fairly quiet, right,
this isn't the world that you love to run around.

(04:36):
And you don't want to be famous. That's been very clear.
You know you've you've taken advantage with some co opportunities.
You're a great partner of Rebecca, but the chasing after
fame is definitely not what you're about. So you come
out here tonight with I don't know how many three
people in Park City. You stand that people are screaming
and yelling at the both of you. What does that
feel like? It's definitely overwhelming. In the beginning, I wasn't

(04:56):
quite sure what we're gonna be doing tonight. I knew
that would be celebrate in with quite a few people,
and they were all they were really awesome tonight and
everyone was really nice. But it is overwhelming getting consumed
by so many people. Yeah, when you guys walk out,
it's like a boy band. It's actually dreamed of, like everybody.
People are screaming at you. I love people who are

(05:18):
excited in the crowd really does it for me? Yeah,
I brought two buddies. So I'm not here right now
filming a show from BC called First Look, and it's
I was able to bring two buddies with me and
they've never been a part of any of this stuff.
They came out just to kind of experience the whole
First Look show with me tonight, Like we've never been
around super fans. It's a whole new world, right. We
watched the show when I was on it, when everybody

(05:39):
else is on it together in a room. Super fans
freak out there and that's the thing. It's like, I'm
not used to that much abundance of love and support.
So that's been the cool part. But at one point
I think Garret and I walked back from the crowd
and He's like, were you scratching my back the entire time?
And I was like, No, that wasn't me, that was
somebody else. Okay, I felt before we diving episode, I

(06:09):
think we should catch up with Becky Garretty. What's one
on in your life? Um, what are you all up to?
What's what's some big updates just well, Moe Ding moving.
That's the biggest thing so far. We uh figured out
about a month and a half ago where we're going
to live, which is Carl's Bad, California, to get some
sunshine for a while. We've been there. We went there
over the spring for their flower festival. You guys will

(06:33):
experience this in the spring. They have like this big
long table in the middle of the flower field. Oh wow, yeah,
I'm already. I'm already. The number one thing that I'm
planning when we move is planting an orange tree and
an olive tree. I'm not I don't really have a
green film, so I don't know why I'm so all
about that, but I'm excited fresh oranges and olive oil.

(06:54):
This place looks incredible. I'm looking up right now. My
phone festival is nice. Good for you. Yeah. Um. And
Garrett has an exciting new career opportunity coming up with
an outdoor company that he'll be Oh yeah, he'll be hosting.
So if anyone wants to hunt and fish and get
into the outdoors and have some laughs, he's going to
be doing that throughout the year, which is exciting. Yeah,

(07:18):
and just traveling like crazy. Honestly, we're all over the
place living out of a suitcase still, so it'll be
good to get settled. There's one thing that everybody says
to me about Garrett, because we've met briefly in Tahoe
it's American Century Championship and then tonight, is that you know,
because I've been able to be around Denver in Denver
with Blake and Colton and been around Jason, that you're
the funniest guy they know person They really so yeah.

(07:43):
So I'm guessing a trip guided by you would be
an absolute blast. So I hear that over and over again.
I want him to break out some of the dad
jokes right now, but I don't want to put him
on the spot. I don't know how appropriate all past
I had a good Christmas time one, but I don't
know it it's that good. I know, I know when
you're thinking it's not good. You know, to both of you,

(08:06):
Ashley and Becca, you both have made real relationships work
out of this. It's like really cool Jared sitting outside
watching football right now. Um, you know, there's a lot
of love in this room and it's really cool for
me to see because I do believe in the show
I always have and watching you know, Colton tonight as
he starts his bachelor journey, it does bring back memories
for me. For both of you, I know, you know

(08:27):
talking to you, actually, this feels it's real. You're preparing
for a wedding. Um, Becca and Garrett? How did you
make this thing feel real? Like you're this? Is it?
Like you guys are moving in together? I know. I
think just ordering everything, just the realization sinking in that
we're moving in together, and then looking at furniture and
then packing and all that, it's like, damn, we're really

(08:48):
doing this together. Yeah. I think it's just having a plan.
And while you're on the show, and even after the show,
your life is turned upside out and something that you
can never expect or plan for because there's so many
cool things that come from it. But now that we're
finally figuring out where do we want to live, how
do we want to fill our home and combining that
as our own, not just my place or his place,

(09:10):
that's kind of what's pulling it all together where and
I think you've been lately for the longest time, we
weren't having any wedding plans, but now we're kind of talking, Okay, well,
what what month do we want to do it in?
What year? Is it coming up quicker than we originally thought?
So it's it's slowly coming together. Yeah. I like the
number two, And I was just joking today, I was like,
what if we did two to March, no, February? Okay,

(09:42):
that's a good. Well, then you started to start planning
in a month, okay. So I have so many questions
for you now that you said this. Do you have
like a fall, summer, winter idea? Like, what's your season?
She likes the fall, and I think that it's important.
I don't know for the I think she's dreamed ever
since being like a little kid to have like this

(10:04):
wedding and all this, and with the passing of her dad,
it falls also in the fall, and so she's picked
out that date, which would potentially be a good one
as well. Yeah, I just love the fall. I don't know,
And I think we've talked about maybe doing it on
the vineyard, and it's in California, it's beautiful, it's the
perfect weather. So that's what I made in force when

(10:26):
he said February. I was like, especially if it's in Minnesota,
that might be too cool. Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, see,
you guys don't even know what state you would do
it and yet Yeah, yeah, Jar and I are going
to have a lot more people over to our place
to entertain you. This week. We may have been involved
with the biggest watch party of all time, but it
doesn't mean they're going to stop after that. Now that
we have a crate and Barrel registry and we've kind

(10:48):
of started to get gifts in already from it, it's
going to be so much easier for us to entertain.
We love these hip large red wine glasses to serve
red wine exclusively with. They are so nice to match
with our silverware in our plate where. Um. We also
got these amazing new Maren dark gray large serving bowls

(11:11):
and the perfect for snacks like popcorn, chips, dip, all
that good stuff. Uh. They're they're beautiful and they're timeless,
their classic. They're gonna go with anything that our home
has decore wise for basically the rest of our life. Also,
Jared and I, as you guys may know, are huge
movie buffs and an award seasons coming, so we will

(11:33):
be having a lot of nights on the couch with
some red wine and some popcorn. So we can't wait
to use our Crate and Barrel stuff for that. You
can start your Crate and Barrel registry if you are
an engaged person out there at Crate and Barrel dot com. Again,
if you are engaged and you're trying to figure out
where to register, I highly suggest Crate and Barrel and
you can register at Crate and Barrel dot com. So

(11:56):
I want to clarify something for people who don't follow
your every single move on Instagram. How has the living
situation been. You both have kept separate apartments, but you've
always been together, so you just kind of bounced back
and forth between the two. Yeah, so I'll give you
the rundown. So when after the show ended, I was
in Reno. She was in Minneapolis. She went to her
sister's bachelotte party. I went to my brother's bachelor party,

(12:18):
and then after that I went to Minneapolis, was there
for a month. Then from there she came to Reno
for a month, and then I went back to Minneapolis,
and then we came back out to the West Coast
and we've just been bouncing back and forth from each
other's places, And I even bought a pop up closet
for her apartment. What's a pop up closet? I got
her on Amazon. It was little Cubbies, so I could

(12:39):
put like my pants, my boxers, my socks, and then
paying my shirts and then a couple of coats and
then put my shoes on the bottom. Because her closet,
She's like, hey, I left you some hangers and there
was three hangers, Like do you have room. I'm like, yeah,
you have room. And he gets here, He's like, this
is two inches. I'm supposed to hang one shirt and
appear underwear over this. From the middle of August through

(13:02):
the end of September, I lived out in my suitcase
the whole time. That's yeah. So when I came back
the second time, I bought a little pop made it work.
It broke I think the last week he was there. Yeah,
I did. It started to tilt because the weight of
the jackets and everything like that, and I pulled one
and that just tumbled up. Yeah. Picture, and we just
pulled a picture of the pop up closet. It's Amazon. Yeah,

(13:24):
you could close it up so it's not just like
close hanging in your living room and if you get
in a fight, it looks like a fine place to
zip up and sleeping at night. Yeah, I know, I
throw my flash head in there. So you guys wasted
no time. I mean this thing. As soon as the
show was done, you're, you know, kind of somewhat living together.
But here's the thing. You've never had a shared post

(13:46):
postal box, right? Oh no, not ever the same. Well,
I'm excited for you because our next sponsor the podcast
having a shared postal box is one of the coolest
things about it. I'm gonna tell you about stamp dot Com. Well,
I go to the post office to send letters and
packages when you don't have to save time and money
this year by using stamps dot Com instead. I am

(14:07):
the worst person at buying things online and never returning them.
I just pile up in my room the stuff that
I bought and never the chance to return. But now
with stamps dot Com, I can do it all from
my home. Stamps dot Com brings all the amazing services
of US postal service right to your computer. Beck and
Garry gonna take advantage of it, Ashley with you. I
have to say I did a segment on the I

(14:28):
don't get a podcast this month about how confusing the
post office is to me and how I feel like
they should have taught some sort of classes in high
school because I just hand them the stuff. I go,
I need to send this, I don't know what to do.
It's the one place I've told you this. It's the
one place I walk into that I get nervous walk in. Yeah,
I feel completely inadequate. I'm right there with you. Yeah,

(14:50):
if this is common millennial, stamps dot com is the fix. Yeah,
you really are. No, that's that's a little weird. Stamps
dot com is the faster and more convenient way to
get postage. Simply use your computer to print official US
postage for any letter, any package, any class of mail,
anywhere you want to send, and the mail career picks

(15:12):
it up. No more lugging mail to the post office,
no more hassles. I use stands dot com because it's convenient, easy, reliable,
and efficient. It's going to solve that. Is that how
you would describe the little closet that you have. Convenient easy?
Everything good in life is convenient, easy, reliable, and efficient.

(15:32):
It's gonna solve that pile in your room and right now.
YouTube can enjoy the stamps dot Com service with a
special offer that includes a four week trial plus postage
and a digital scale. So start the new year off right.
Go to stamps dot com, click on the microphone at
the type of the homepage and type in what almost
famous that stamps dot com enter almost famous today? All right?

(15:55):
Should we dig in? Should we talk about Colton? Questions from?
All right? Let's I'm having a fun time. Listen to Barrack.
I just got it. That's your wedding. Yeah, okay, Well,
why did you guys decide on San Diego? Girls? Bed?
Did you want to take this one? So? She threw

(16:17):
up Los Angeles? I thought you just said she threw
up Los Angeles. She did did? Actually, yeah, out out
Los Angeles. But she wanted to maybe go there, and
I don't. I don't know how. It's not for you. No, So,
but that's all of California that I really knew. Yeah,
And I loved the sunshine. I was like, hey, it's warm,

(16:39):
let's go. And then I love the mountains and uh
and fishing and just being outside and active and stuff
like that. And so we went down to my brother's
wedding down in North County, San Diego, and I was like,
I could live down here, and she's like you could.
I was like yeah, She's like, let's do that. That's
crazy because I've always thought of San Diego as like
the most active city in the kind tree I think

(17:00):
of it. I just think of like people working out,
being healthy, going paddle boarding, going running, going and biking.
So yeah, he got there. So it's a little more
chill than l A. His family is close by, and
so I thought it was one one because it was California,
get the sunshine and family. So this is my favorite
question to ask newly moved in couples. What is something

(17:23):
that you've learned about him when you moved in? Just
about his like home habits that drives you nuts, or
you find just unique both of you, both from both
of you. Okay, I would say in the bathroom that
after remind her because I like to stay super clean,
that after reminder to squeegee the door. And then and
then she'll like leave makeup like spilled on the counter

(17:45):
and I'm like light that up and she's like, oh, Gary,
And I'm like, don't call me Gary. First of all,
you cannot get mad at me from my makeup because
he will shave or trim his beard and the hairs. No,
you do not, Mr, he does not. It's all over.
It's I went there and I haven't been home in
a month, and he stills little remnants of his hairs.

(18:09):
That that's a hard thing. I'm on with you, g
that's impossible. Yeah, It's like I get a little bit
each day. I'm like, oh, there's a couple more hairs,
you know, get a little wet tallengesin um. One more thing.
And I've said this since day one, but his family
loves paper towels and leaving paper towels all around. I've

(18:32):
made it a habit now that I'll go, even when
I'm just with him or with his mom or his brother,
then I'll go and super zoom all of the paper
towels and they leave around the house because we go
through so many. I'm like, why do you leave this behind?
Just throw it away or use a normal towel, But
they just I don't know what it is with their
paper products. I like to reuse it, so that's why

(18:52):
I don't like I leave it there because I'm gonna
use it again. And then she tosses and then I
have to get a new one. More waste paper towel
in my pocket. Yeah every day. Yeah, in the morning,
I washed, shower up, I go out and I washed
my hands and brush my teeth, and I clean up
with the paper towel, and then I'll use that same
paper towel in my pocket. Does not pull apart. We

(19:13):
buy high quality paper towel. Why don't I just buy
you guys for Christmas? No, no, well, I use a
paper towel in your mouth instead of a regular towel
because I can use it all day. Paste. It's like,
put it in your pocket like my nose, wipe up
something off the counter, that well blowing nose. I'll be

(19:35):
done with it for the day. But if I have
to wipe something off the counter, then it's still, in
my opinion clean. I'll stick it right back in my pocket.
And you know what's fun about like relationships, You know
in the beginning, when you're afraid to tell couples something. Yeah,
we've gotten to that point now where it's like we
just fired up right away. Actually, her shoes off one
day and I was like, do not sit on my
bed with those feet, Like someone just dump vinegar and

(19:58):
they weren't that bad. I'm I've been the exact same way.
I've always thought I'd be like the girl that was
like kind of on our best behavior, like very ladylike
until marriage. Nope, just all out there, all the grossness living.
When someone changes it, like today, I will say I
learned what e W meant. He's gonna hate me for
saying this, but he's read. There's no going back now.

(20:21):
It stands for endless wipe when you go like one
that you have to like flash the toilet a couple
of times. Wore what is going on? Day? Everyone? Yeah,
there's a fix for that. Actually knows my fix. We've
talked about it often. Actually we've only alluded to it once.
Dast Or a shower, Yeah, I mean, I'm never if

(20:44):
if that happens, like starts to happen for me and
I see it coming there, it's it's just an audible
right away and say it's time to shower. Yeah exactly.
Yeah's apparently what is this like afordable the day that
you can put on? Garret's like, let's get this for
our apartment. I'm like, that's a little extreme. You can
it hides under the lid. It's amazing. Is there anything

(21:07):
before we dive into the first episode of Cold and
Season the Bachelor, is there anything for each one of
you in here that you're still hiding from each other?
And if so, can you break the ice now until
your significant other? That's a fantastic question. Do you have one,
Ashley to start us? Get him warmed up? If I'm Jared,
because as soon as we walk out of this room,
Jared is sitting thirty ft from us, You'll have to

(21:29):
tell him whatever you're about to tell me. Man tough, Yeah,
because I'm I'm too freakishly honest. Like sometimes lately, lately,
like this is this week, he's been really congested, so
he's been eating a lot with his mouth open, and
I'll just stare at him and I'll be like, and
he's like, what, Like, you're chomping. It's disgusting. Sometimes you'll

(21:53):
like see it in his mouth. That's all that's really,
That's it. I know. I wish I could be more entertaining,
but I don't hop on right now. There's a couple
of things I don't I don't do this. I have
so many weird, gross, disgusting habits. I gross myself out often.
There is one that my buddy just told his wife
and he hit it from her for years. He when
he's in a car, he drives a lot for work

(22:13):
or whatever, and if he doesn't have a cleanex he
picks his nose and to get rid of it, he
wipes it underneath the driver's seat, which I don't think
is uncommon because I know other people that do do that.
So that's one of those things I'm kind of thinking about.
It's like that seems to be something that we gross
me out. I just asked, please don't do that. Yeah,

(22:34):
underneath that you kind of like reach under He just
he just told her about the yeah, and then you
can clean it off. I feel like I'm kind of
like you. Actually, we're we're pretty honest just because we're
together twenty four seven that there's really nothing I can
get past this guy. But um sometimes and he actually

(22:54):
did realize this once when we were in Reno because
my allergies were terrible, terrible, my sinuses were so bad
and my nose was just running that I like, I
like to do this on my own two but I'll
stick balls of toilet paper up my I do that
when I'm really you know, yeah, it catches it all.
It's like I don't want to keep like blowing and
rubbing my nose because it hurts. I just stick it

(23:16):
up there. He finally saw it once and that's your
body telling you gotta get rid of it. Yeah, it is, Yeah,
even if it's in your sleeve. Yeah. Yeah, I'll say that.
This month, Jared and I have started saying like I
gotta go poop instead of saying like I gotta go
to the bathroom. It's just like, uh, sorry, don't go
in there. Bombed it. That's like a recent development, you guys,

(23:38):
this is love. Why don't we okay, do you guys
remember on the show they would use code like ten
one to go, number one, ten to to go, And
so I'm like, why don't we just say that instead
of being like, I don't know. We were trying to
be secreted for a while, but we could have just
said that. I just you know, I know that it's
a normal bodily version, and I'm like, okay, I gotta go. Yeah.

(24:02):
In his intro package, he showed the blowout bathroom. That
remember that that was impressed. I do remember that that
stood out to me it's weird so to kind of
transition out to the Bachelor. For all of us that
have been a part of the show, anybody listens, I
bet this episode I'm gonna do it over under. I
about this episode gets five listens. What do you think,

(24:25):
Eastern He's shaking his head. Yeah, no doubt. I'm gonna
say just on that dot and I think so too.
I think as we really close. But for any out
there listening, please right into bed An Ashley, iHeart media
dot com. Uh. Any of your weird habits that you
haven't told your partner you want to tell your partner,
but a little behind the scenes on the Bachelor, as
Becca was alluding to, you obviously have to use the restroom.

(24:45):
There's two hundred people on the crew. When you're the
lead of the Bachelor Bachelorette, you have a whole team
of people around you most of the time. Actually, for me,
they knew that my like weakness was I have to
get along. I don't do well around crowds. Forever. I
can do it for a while, but I so what
do they do? They stuck a person with me at
all times, when I went to the bathroom, when I

(25:06):
slept there, was somebody not with more like farther than
ten yards from me. So that brings up a good point, right,
you have men and women that are become friends and family.
At this point, I would say it's about ten people
around the bachelor. Bachelor at all times you have to
use the restroom, they all are gonna know. And then
they're not just gonna know, No, they're gonna send the
signal out, Hey, Ben's got a ten to for the

(25:26):
next twenty five minutes. Pause everything. So you do, you
go to the bathroom, You walk out to two people
with cameras just going like, how was it? It was good?
But say sometimes when you need that alone time. I
used to say I need a tend to just so
I could go and take a chill there, like my
time minutes. I haven't really just meditated in the bathroom.

(25:52):
When I first met her, she took really long showers.
But then I realized that she was the trick the
at the beginning of a relationship, it's always I'm gonna
hold this in until it's appropriate to take a shower,
or I can't take a shower tice and it you know,
I don't know, it's so awkward. Loves such a weird thing. Yea.

(26:14):
I feel like though you get so used to it,
like you guys get it because you're around people all
the time. Then now it's just like my norm. So
I'll talk about it with my friends. Are Like even today,
in front of all the strangers, I was like, sorry,
I got to go to the bathroom. Everyone's like okay,
and I was like, yea, can you hide me in
the men's bathroom? Sorry. He was my bodyguard outside so
he wouldn't let any voice come in. I would say,
the show got me a lot more comfortable being around

(26:37):
anybody else. Again, if you're listening right now, make sure
your emails with all your weird habits, all your gross
disgusting things that make us human have been a n
Ashley I heart Meadia dot com Ashley. Yeah. One thing
that doesn't make you disgusting. One thing that actually, I
feel like really enhances you as a person is the
fashion in the clothes you wear. Oh, thank you. I
actually have a very interesting stat for you guys. Did

(26:58):
you know that be on average, we throw out eighty
pounds of clothes a year. That's actually insane. Buying secondhand
stuff extends the life of that item by two point
two years, and it reduces the eco impact by seventy
three percent. This year, I'm giving myself, my wallet, and

(27:18):
my closet a fresh start by giving secondhand clothes a
new life with thread Up. Speaking of rewearing things, I'll
just let you guys know the dress that I wore tonight.
I wore dur in Paradise too. I am all about
rewearing things these days. I recognize that dress. Thank you.
Thread Up is the way to do this. Thread Up

(27:41):
is the world's largest consignment and thrift store where you
can shop for high quality pieces for up to nine
off estimated retail. They have over thirty five thousand brands
that range from Gap to Gucci. I just bought an
Anthropology dress for six dollars, you guys, and U Lulu
I'm in Tank for ten dollars. Those things go for

(28:02):
like a hundred dollars in the store. Plus if you
go to throat up dot com slash almost famous today,
you'll get an extra percent off your first order. And
they have so many cute things and thousands of other
items for your every day to going out on a

gotta feel good and you can do that with threat up.
So go to thread up dot com slash almost famous

for an extra thirty percent off today. Terms apply foster
a second, the dog is standing there beside Jared for
like two minutes before you notice Jared is watching TV.
That dog then starts in to look at them. Now
that's a cute of thing. So anyways, if this makes it, um,
Jared is sitting out there, we have a big window
to where he's at. There's this random like kind of

(29:07):
like German shepherd looking dog that was standing right with
sign him and Jared didn't see him. And then the
dog like sniffed Jared's hand and Jared doesn't know we're
watching him, but he's just loving on this dog and
playing with this dog it is and Ashley is like,
I mean, I don't know. I feel like it's getting
hot in here because Ashley is heated up with our
new baby dog, Like I look as if he's with

(29:30):
our baby girl. So it was very adorable. I think,
did I tell you this that once we got this
girl dog and he's never had a girl dog before,
he all of a sudden goes, I kind of want
a baby girl now, Like all of a sudden, he
wants to have a girl first. Jared just cut alright, Hey,
we've got to dig in. We've got to get gossipy,
we've got to get juicy. We've got to talk about

(29:50):
the Bachelor. That's why we're here. That's why you're listening.
Becca and Garrett. It's been great to catch up with
both of you. Congratulations on the next steps. You're here
to talk about the Bachelor now though, Okay, um, Colton
season just started. I think actually tell me if I'm wrong,
I'm gonna let you lead this segment because you understand
the Bachelor a lot better than the Bachelor. That is
not true. That's actually good point. Let's start from the beginning. Okay,

(30:16):
I think Colton walking in this storyline has been and
and most of the country is gonna say it tonight
way overplayed the virgin thing. I thought they would pull
back a lot for the episode. I really did. I
thought they would say I thought this show would be like,
we get it, the storylines out there, and they just
pushed it forward. So there's two things I want to
talk about. One, is it too much? Is it intriguing

(30:37):
to you at all? Is it interesting? Second? Is there
a such thing as virgin shaming? So I think let's
start with hasn't been overplayed? Is it appropriate? And is
it intriguing? Okay, well, I guess I'll start. I. I
just think it's so overboard, especially at this point when

(30:58):
we've seen so many on the show. There was a
Sadie Murray who was on our show. There is me
and Becca, there's Kristen, and now there's Colton. And it's like, okay, well,
if you have like five from the past decade, why
is that so fascinating? Why do we have to continue
to harp on It's obviously not that rare of a thing.
And maybe more I want to add, there could be

(31:19):
more virgins who just didn't feel like it was appropriate
to talk about it on national TV. You were comfortable
in it I'm glad you were used to up. We've
had many girls call in and say thank you, Ashley,
but yeah, you can name five. I bet there's more.
I'm sure there is, especially who like left early and
they never really divulged into their personal stuff, I think.

(31:39):
And I told this to Colton when he first told
me that he was a virgin in the Bahamas, and
then even after that we talked at mental all and
we're friends zoned, so we've talked about it. And when
he told me that he felt he was in a
safe place, we were at the point in the relationship
where he wanted me to know, and to me, it
wasn't a big deal. And to me, that's just a

(32:01):
part of who someone is. It's their decision, but it
doesn't make up their entire person. And so it's like, yeah,
of course he divulged that, but there's so much more
to Colton than just being the virgin. And so I
kind of hope and this would be my wish that like,
so for my season they played up. The first night
was of course not only the breakup with Ari, but

(32:23):
the whole let's do the damn thing. Like I had
to say that so many times and I'm like, good, gracious,
I never want to say this again, but for the
show aspect, you kind of have to play it up.
It's like a one and done type thing. And so
maybe fingers crossed, that could be the case for this,
or you know, he can have a conversation with a

(32:43):
girl or two that he gets into stronger relationship with.
But I don't think it needs to be like the
entire storyline. I think, and I've read things like people
think that it's not going to be Colton's journey to
find love. It's going to be Colton's virginity story, and
that's not what it needs to be about. Do you
wish you wouldn't have told you? No, No, I'm glad
that he told me, and and like I said, we've

(33:04):
had conversations since then, and so I just feel humbled
that he felt comfortable to tell me that. And so
if he felt comfortable in not only expressing it to me,
but knowing it was going to be played out on
national television, then that's his prerogative. And um, you know, again,
he knew it was for a TV show, so it
would be played up a bit. But I don't think

(33:28):
it needs to be as extreme as it is, and
there's one thing that's really upsetting me, then I want
to move in the virgin shaming and don't hear from
every ready. I don't like this, and I could be
completely off. I feel things sometimes it doesn't make sense.
I don't love that there's women on the show saying
I'm going to take his virginity, or when I'm gonna

(33:48):
when he loses virginat me, I'm gonna oil him up
to try to get him hot and bothered and all
that stuff. I feel really disgusted by that for some reason.
I feel like that's we're crossing a bou Andre in
a line now where this is something Colton's held on too,
And I think as we get through the season here,
we're gonna learn a lot more of why he's a virgin. Right.
It's not because he can't have sex with a woman.
I'm sure he's had his opportunities, um and I'm sure

(34:11):
he desires it, but it's been a personal choice by him.
I hate that there's verbage and people out there on
the show, and also that they're playing it with the
women going I'm gonna take his virginity. Think about what
you're saying there. What you're saying is absolutely disgusting, um
and not okay with me. And I can't quite put
into words why it's so upsetting, but I know when

(34:31):
I watched the episode to night, there was something about
it that just made me feel dirty. Well, And I
think it's the fact that for people to say that,
it's like, that's very one sided. If if a man
were to say that about a woman, he would be ridiculed.
Oh my god, could you imagine how that would go over?
And so no, he wouldn't live it down. And so
I don't think it's right for just because it's a

(34:52):
girl or a female to say that that it makes
it okay. I think it's like, hey, people, it takes
two to tango. You both have to have a mutual
decision in us and so if Colton chose to do
that with somebody, then hopefully you both have talked about
that and that's for the both of you. But for
somebody to be like I'm gonna take that, or I'm
gonna take this, or I'm gonna steal his virginia, it's
like that's not your place. You just met the guy, Like,

(35:14):
feel it out a little bit. You know that's just
that's there for probably the wrong the wrong thing I
think for him too, And I don't know. Yeah, and
if it is discussing like you were saying that, you
just go on there and then you just throw it
around like I don't know, that's something that he's lived
by for a while. You know, you just go on
there and say, I'm gonna do this, I'm gonna take it.
I'm gonna be the one that does it. I'm gonna
pull him up, I'm gonna get him in there. I

(35:35):
can't wait to get him in the fantasy suits because
that's what I'm gonna do. I don't think that's right.
I will say, like I've made comments in the past
where I've been like, oh, I'd kiss him, or like
I would do this or something. But to say like
I'm gonna take this or like I'm gonna steal that
that's something that's that important to someone, it's has a
different connotation. I think. I think, like you said, the

(35:58):
first episode, the first episode, in my opinion, is absolutely terrible.
Actually knows this. I hate the first episode. I'd prefer
every season of every season, not just this season of
every season. I just think it's weird and awkward, but
I hope that this stops. Like this is just feels dirty.
I'm concerned it's not so I would think, Okay, we've
dealt with it on beck of season. We touched on

(36:19):
it a little bit in Paradise, and now, of course
we're gonna make the first episode about it and then
we should be done with it. But based on the
preview that we saw, I'm scared that it's far from done.
And it's not just going to be a fantasy suite thing.
It's gonna be it's I'm gonna it's gonna carry on
throughout the entire season. I actually I was doing a
press thing and I think this must be out there.

(36:41):
In episode two, they go around the circle and I
don't know it's a circle, but the group date is
girls sharing their first time stories with Megan Malawe like
it's a joke, and it's just like, why do we
keep playing this theme? Here's where it's personal me though.
So I was asked if I was a virgin during

(37:02):
Caitlyn season. Nobody remembers it. I told her lovable in
her response, which there was more wording, but one of
her responses and I know. She didn't love this part
was are you a virgin? I responded in honest way
and said, no, I'm not. I don't know how that
has to do with me. I'm feeling unlovable, but whatever
that works, here's my issue. And this is where the
show gets personal. It shows funny, it's weird, it's awkward.
You guys met, and like, that's awesome for all of

(37:25):
you in this room. There's love that can exist from
the show, and it identifies at the large piece piece
of my life, with or without a relationship. But there
are kids watching. They're teenagers watching this show. The show
knows that, right, ABC knows that, and there's kids out
there watching and seeing that. It's this thing that like
Colton's a little bit kind of being made fun of.
The women are kind of saying, I can't wait to

(37:45):
take his virginity. All the presses about is the a
virgin or not? Where it feels like to me being
a virgin, Yes, it might be maybe not the norm
or the majority, but it feels like something that is
so strange and weird. If I was a virgin, I'd
be questioning myself and and I'm a thirty year old man,
I'd questioned myself, that's where for me, this whole thing

(38:07):
needs to stop, because there's kids, men and women both watching,
going well, he's the bachelor, he's cool, and he's a virgin,
and people making fun of him for it. So I
have so much to say about that because I think
that that's the way the show has portrayed it, being
like this is weird. It's so weird, we're going to
talk about it all the time, and we all I've
been pretty open about I'm not one to usually say

(38:30):
like there's editing involving blah blah blah. But that scene
of yours during last season, I imagine had which time
so it wasn't pure. Can we just say that scene
wasn't pure? And I got so fired up over that
because in that moment, I felt like they were virgin
shaming him. I will say that, even though it's brought

(38:50):
up a zillion billion times, what I do think the
audience takes away from it usually is, oh, Wow, this
person is really attractive and they're really cool, and they're
really open and honest about their virginity, and that makes
me feel okay about it. That's the response that I've
gotten lots of girls and moms coming up to me
and thanking me for being so open about it. But

(39:12):
I do think that the show, for some reason doesn't
want to portray it the way that I'm losing My
train of you know what I mean? Is starting to
feel different. I just feel like every time the show
brings it up, they make it seem like it's a
weird thing. But then I hope that the people are

(39:33):
sitting at home think of it as a good thing
and they look beyond the way. I can't underestimate how
much this show influences people's thoughts. You can't. So that's
where this gets weird for me. There isn't that such
thing as very written shaming. I'm not going to claim
that the show is doing it. I think we're getting close.
But did you want to say anything about that scene?
I will just say I received a ton of backlash

(39:55):
and for how it was aired and throughout every single
day throughout the entire season. There are so many times
where I'll take a break to go to the bathroom,
or the guy that I'm on a date with we'll
go to the bathroom, or we want to eat something,
or you have to break for interviews. So there's a
lot of weaving that happened. So that particular instance I

(40:15):
think came across poorly, which I've said before and again
like at the end of the day, I didn't judge
Colton whatsoever for being a virgin. I respected him, I
think more for telling me that, and we had conversations
off camera more about it where he gave a little
bit more insight. And so at the end of the day, like,
it's our relationship and and no one else. If he

(40:39):
were to be the one at the end of it, it
it would be no one else in that relationship with us.
And so if we're okay moving forward and we both
accept each other for who we are, and then that's
really all that matters. And so um, yeah, the way
it played out, I didn't love um, But Colton I
had many conversations about it, and he's like, look, I
know how it went down. You know how it went down.
I respected your side of how you handle things, and

(41:02):
so that's really all that we can take from that.
I think it's it's no one else in that relationship
at that point, Garrett, How was it standing beside your
woman as this whole Like all this went down kind of.
I mean, she obviously is still a piece of this
season because Colton was on her season the batchlor how
was it stand upsider tonight or just in just in general,

(41:23):
just in general? I mean, seeing like when people lash
out at her and stuff like that was always tough
because there's no way to defend that, I guess or
I don't know how to defend that. So just being
supportive and the same thing with her to me is
just being supportive of one another. But um, yeah, I
mean it was definitely something that I've never experienced before.
And I think that that's something that we have in

(41:45):
common in this room, is that we've gone through relationships
that a lot of people haven't gone through before, where
everything is just looked through through like a magnifying glass,
and everything that you do is just like, I don't know,
people pick it apart. Anything that you do is picked apart.
So oh, that was definitely something new for me to
have to like figure that out and juggle that and

(42:06):
be by her side through everything and just knowing like
whatever she posted was gonna get picked apart, whatever she
wore was gonna get picked apart, what she said, how
she handled herself on the show the dates, how she
like let people go, so something that I had to
like grow in the relationship and do something completely different.
It was really weird for me, to be honest. So

(42:27):
it's had a weird deal for anybody. Actually, I've said it,
you know, as we've done the podcast. I don't know
how many seasons this has been. I mean, this has
been going on since forever, um the Almost Fased podcast.
The true mark of a good lead is not how
charismatic they are likable, they are right, that's that can
all be. That's hard to display sometimes on television. It's
the response to difficult situations. How do they respond when

(42:48):
things get heated, tough, confusing when you know you're in
love with a bunch of people, you're trying figure out
who's right one at the end, and I thought, Becca,
you did really well with this One's particularly because this
is still a storyline, it exists today, and you handled
it really well. Yeah, that scene is different and you
know obviously didn't play out like it really was in
real life. But with all to say, that's not the

(43:10):
defining moment for your season, right, you end up with
this good looking guy over here and you guys. Um
to move on a little bit. I want to use
this segment to be critical of Colton. We were all
big fans of Colton. We think he did a great
job to night, but we have to be a little critical.
So find something I'm gonna start. I think I think

(43:30):
Colton handled himself really well. I think Colton is going
to struggle through the season with what we're talking about
and how he responds to difficult situations. That's gonna be
really intriguing to me because it's it's he hasn't done
it great in the past. But I like Colton. He
uses the word awesome too much. To night. Every single
girl that walked by that was awesome. That dress is awesome.
She was awesome, super awesome. So many awesome mine. So

(43:55):
we all have it right, You see that when you
when you do is I licked my lips all the
time when I would get nervous, and so you'd like,
do this upload my face. I'm just like, I'm looking
my lips. I think I thought it was sexy. It
was just super awkward. Um, so we all have those
little things. That's my thing for Colton. He needs to
stop saying awesome. He said, awesome all the time. Actually, Okay, well, um,

(44:16):
I think we've seen it with Bachelor's in the past.
They usually say you've interrupted enough, let this girl have
her time. He allowed that girl to interrupt four times,
which I think, you know, I mean, we all know
there will be the interrupter on night one, but he
never said it's enough down, just let it happen. I

(44:38):
think that's a good question. Okay, I'm not gonna lie.
I didn't. That's actually the thing I said way too
much my season. I'm not gonna lie. But I didn't
see all that much of the episode ten because we
were with you guys at the party and there's a
lot going on with all of the fans. Um, so
the parts that I did catch, I couldn't really also

(45:00):
here because I'm kind of definite. Okay, what do you
think he will struggle out? I think the thing that
and I've talked to him about this before, is, I mean,
everyone loves social media. It's very prevalent, and it's easy
to get wrapped up in the comments and what people
say and how they react to certain things. And I think,
and this is what I learned too, is sometimes it's
okay to stay silent and to not respond and to

(45:22):
not get so invested and respond to everything that you want.
And so I think it'll be a learning and experience
for him. And I think he has done a better
job too, and he's expressed that to me before. But
just taking a step back sometimes and realizing that the
majority of people hope, hopefully, hope for his happiness, want
the best friend, want him to find love and really

(45:42):
find a person that he's compatible with. UM. But there's
gonna be the haters, and there's gonna be the negative negativity, UM.
And so just step away from that and not worry
and fix it on that as much. It's a good
lesson for anybody in this. You know, it's funny you
get likes and ten negative comments and you're sponding negative comments.
I do see that. What's it's a little side thing.

(46:05):
You guys are all more up to this, and I don't.
This is what I thought about today, and we'll jump
back into the back room. What's up with all these
people now responding on all the questions on Instagram? That
seems exhausting to me. I see, like Nick does it?
You know really well? I read his stuff because he's
wise and he's good and he responds great, but it
looks exhausting. You have like thirty questions that you're answering

(46:26):
all the day, like what well, my well, my favorite
podcasts and comedians. Chrystalia goes, you must be really obsessed
with yourself. You must have the biggest ego in the world.
If you're like, ask me questions about myself, it's a thing.
Now say like, I'll do it. I try to make
it more like about beauty stuff or like wedding stuff,

(46:46):
so it's not like ask me about me, but it
is kind of fun. It's fun, it is. Garrett and
I did our first one. We had a we were
driving from northern California down to I think a layer
ocean side and it's a long drive and we were bored.
Garrett had been driving for hours, and I was like, hey, guys,

(47:07):
let us know what karaoke song you want us to sing?
And so we got a lot of responses with that,
so we kind of made it fun Terry's singing involved.
So that's the first time. I didn't even know how
to find the responses. At first, It's like, how the
hell do I do this? But I couldn't figure that out. Yeah,
that's weird. Is I think that people are clever in
a sense that what you just said, You're like, why

(47:28):
do people get ten negative comments and they take their
time to respond to those? People are clever. I think
that sometimes they'll write something so negative to to get
a response and be like, oh my god, then just
wrote me back, when really they don't even have that
much hates for you, but they just write something to
get a response because that's what they see. That's what
arouses your interests. This whole social media think exhaust me

(47:50):
now because I don't think it's cool. I wish I
was better. But as you're talking here, you you all
have fun with it. I read next every time because
he's wise and he's smart and he's witty, and all
these people are doing it. I'm not saying it's a
bad thing. I think if this is the new expectation
for people coming off the show, like if Colton is
now expected to respond to a thousand questions a day
on his Instagram, that's where I check out saying that's

(48:11):
definitely one of those things you do when you're born.
You want to have, like play a game. I think
if it more as like a game, because you know that.
I love the question game. Here, I'll ask random questions.
I could go up to somebody on the street and
truly be interested in what their favorite movie is or
what their favorite food is. I don't know, it just
like a human curiosity. I love just questions and this
random nance game. My gosh, you and my mom would
get along. She is the question queen. I could just

(48:34):
go up to someone like, do you like talk about
or del taco? Do you like what McDonald's like? I
don't know. It's truly fascinates me. That's why actually is
the best co host. Why don't you guys play? Would
you rather we do? Right now? There's just so much
to talk about. It's literally on the Bachelor season. This
this episode is going to be a four hours long Um,
I have a five thirty am wake up calls. I know,

(48:55):
so five th day in wake call. This is what
I'm doing. Fall those almost famous listeners and myself. By
the way, once again, being in Park City, I get
more people coming up to me when I'm out here
saying we listen to the podcast. It's still the weirdest
thing ever. So thank you all the Park City listeners.
Thinks all the people coming out tonight and let us
know that you still love this podcast. Hey, let's jump
into the girls here. We just gave Coulton a little criticism.

(49:15):
Let's just do a blanket statement, say we all think
he's gonna do great. Uh, it's night one. We don't
really have an opinion on what he's gonna do well
or not. Night one's just weird. It's just responding to
a bunch of people getting out of a limo. Will
continue to update you on what Colton is going to
do great as the season continues. Let's talk about the girls.
One of my favorite parts about Night one is getting
to see all the new jobs we have. Content creators.

(49:36):
We have, you know, fitness experts, we have actually just
have a lot of content creators um which is a
new career path in two thousand nine Team, if you're
also looking for a job, or if you're actually trying
to find a new hire, and if you're on The Bachelor, Garrett,

(49:57):
have you heard I have kicking off two thousand nine
Team by planning out which roles your business needs to
hire for figuring out who you need to hire to
take your business to the next level. In two nine team.
I truly believe this Garrett would take your business to
the next level, So hit him up. You know what

(50:17):
else is smart starting the year off strong by going
to zip recruiter dot com backslash ben to hire the
right people. Unlike other job sites, Zip Recruiter finds qualified
candidates for you. It's powerful matching technology scans thousands of
resumes to identify people with the right skills, education, and
experience and actively invites them to apply to your job.

(50:41):
So get qualified candidates fast like Garrett. Also, let's pause here, Ashley,
if you had a resume out there, what you're a
very what I'm saying, I'm saying you're a very busy person.
You're stacked full right now. You're probably not on the
job search as much as some are, but your resume
is gonna say something that a lot of people don't

(51:01):
know about you, but something that's always very impressive. I
want to say, your resume says what a master's Masters
and Broadcasts and Digital Journalism from Sarahcuse University. That's a
brain over there. That's just not a pretty face, that's
a brain. That's why zipp Recruiters rated number one by
employers in the US. This rating comes from hiring sites
on trust Pilot with over a thousand reviews, and right now,

(51:24):
our listeners can try zip recruiter for for by going
to zip recruiter dot com back slash ben. That's been
b e n oh, where is mar? Shout out there? Okay,
zip recruiter. If you love this show. If you love
this show, show your support to zip recruiter dot com

(51:45):
by going to zip recruiter dot com back slash ben.
That's zip recruiter dot com back slash ben. Zip recruiter
the smartest way to hire. It's because they know that
you need to hire people for generous. I do where
we need to hire people for generous. We need to
hire people for the almost famous podcast. We just gotta
start hiring right Eastern. Yeah. I'm telling you he's the

(52:06):
hottest candidate in two thousand nineteen. This guy. This guy's
got a brain, a face, and a great fiance to
support him by his side. Um, let's move into the girls.
She says, I don't have the hair though you got
green hair, but he'll bring the comedic relief. She's like,
your hair is super puffy, and I was like, there's
nothing I can do. Butter it was like very high
tonight before he left, questioned, do you get offended if

(52:28):
she tries to fix your hair? Oh, Jared can't stand it. No,
I just this is the only thing that gets me though,
is if she gets her fingers in there, and then
I'm like, I don't know what it looks. Just as
long as I know what it looks like, I don't mind.
Yeah it looks good man, you have I like that.
I like Ben's hair long. Yeah. I lost a lot
of hair after the show. I grew back. Did you

(52:51):
get any grays in there? Oh? I'm not kidding. I
literally I was looking at a picture actually this is
wild from like one of our first photo shootings, and
I looked, I've lost my hair and it grew back
because of the stress I was losing hair fat. You
really think you grew it all back or most of
the most of it back? Oh, definitely if you look
at compared like side by side pictures. I remember this
with Caitlin during her season The Bachelor. She got off

(53:13):
and I saw her and and she had like literally
would like her hair was so thin because of stress.
Did you lose club hair now? I didn't lose hair.
Do you lose weight gain weight? Well, I gained weight too,
I think right like those last couple of weeks, I
was okay. We were entiling in the Maldives, so I
was eating peter bread and rice and noodles NonStop. But

(53:35):
I think because of the stressful the last couple of weeks,
I lost weight. But then I came back to the
States and gained it back right away, plump, because then
I was happy and in love. Yeah, yeah, and love.
It is stressful. It's a stressful experience. These women that
got a woman and I are about to enter into
this whole beast of a world. We have women whose

(53:57):
moms are in federal prison. Is that Weir was a
walking phone calling her? Yeah? I agree, I saw that one.
It's just a weird it's a weird, shocking. Next time
that I might get to see my mom might be
with Colton when she gets out of prison. Yeah, that's tough.
I wonder how long she's been in jail? Did we do?
We know that. I don't think it was from bezzlement,

(54:19):
tax fraud or something. You know, you never know with
how long does last. But it is crazy to think
of how that storyline now gets brought into a nine
million people's television. I'm gonna say, what do you guys
think like going out in the beginning and getting it
out there and the letting people know, or is that
something that once it gets there, then you let people know.
I have this weird not weird. I have this theory

(54:42):
that you try to protect the people that didn't sign
up for the show. Yeah, as best you can. You're
obviously not gonna be do perfect. And I called out
my college girlfriend that I would love and it destroyed
her for a little. She's good with it now, we're
good friends. But at the time she's like, what the
hell are you doing? You called me a monster on
the Bachelor, Like, oh my god, you did I did
no monster, I broke my heart. Don't do that. Okay, okay,

(55:05):
but this girl obviously got permission from her mom, and
her mom was probably like, yeah, you use me. It
will help you get on the show. Hopefully, Yeah, hopefully
she's gonna get a prison with a couple of things. Okay,
So with the we have a couple of misses on
this season. We have missed Carolina and then another one
was Miss Obama Alabama or something like that. Yeah, some

(55:28):
southern state. So there's there's obviously they hinted it at
like some drama between them. Well, I would say it's
light drama because Kaylin was the runner up, so obviously
in some form of life, she's already beat Hannah at something.
And I think this is just a theory of mine
that this insecurity is going to follow Hannah throughout this experience,

(55:48):
especially after she sees that Kaylin got a kiss on
night one. It's gonna it's gonna rise up. I have theory.
I'm making them up. I'm really making up for the
sake of drama. This is my theory. I actually it's
wild how many times you're right. You're pretty good at
this um. But there's a lot of mrs Miss Caroline
and Miss Alabama. They're they're they're in competition with each other.
There was that glare a night when you saw it.

(56:12):
Why were your sash? Why aspect of that? Why? How
would I did say that? I think Miss Colton Underwood
and it went from Miss um Miss South Miss Alabama
to Miss cold Underwood. I was like, excuse me, that

(56:33):
would be Mrs I didn't know that. Damn. Yeah, that's aggressive.
That makes me turn around. There's a couple of sashes
night or did it turn around? It turned around? It
turned around? Little flip switch and pull it clever though,
that little thing the sash um. Maybe the most intriguing

(56:54):
of the night is a sloth. She got sent home, obviously,
but we talked about her. She bought it. I will share.
I am a sucker for a costume. I think every season,
and people might hate me for saying this, every season
needs a costume. Well apparently so and um. When I
was on ri a season, I don't think any of

(57:15):
the girls were a costume. I mean, Amily's anilies came
in with the bandit mask, but that was you know,
it wasn't a full costume. I was hoping for the
Alexis shark slash dolphin costume. We didn't get that. But
then I had David in the Chicken, which I just
appreciate it. And it keeps you warm because at night
it usually gets cold. They're so cold. Can we bring

(57:35):
up something that is so often forgotten? Jojo showed up
on your season wearing a unicorn masks us Jojo. She
covered her beautiful her face, but she'll be word out
of the limo, right, not something like a plastic thing.

(57:55):
Didn't usually make you wear it all night. I think
it's I mean, I think it's up to you. The
slot just felt like she just bought in, which is
if you mean, for so many reasons, that's weird. It's
your first date. I will say. Here's the thing though,
on my first one on one date with Colton, when
we were in where were we, oh Las Vegas, We're
writing camels, there was a sloth on the premise and

(58:20):
uh he Colton held the sloth and played with the
sloth and loved the sloth, and so he talked about that.
So maybe the producers had some insight to help out
a little bit. I think because he mentioned, he goes
it's my second favorite animal behind dogs. Yeah, maybe the
next Bachelor of Bachelorette. Nobody should know and it should
be a costume. So when you get out of the
fantastic is it you can't see it all night? Sudden carrots?

(58:42):
We three slot twists. It is this is one of
the guys from the previous season. We're gonna mask him
and then um mask his voice. It's like, what's the
TV show? The proposal mixed with The Bachelor's weird because
the proposal was made by the same people that make
The Bachelor. So we are onto something. We are gonna

(59:05):
stop talking about this almost. Yeah, we're walking. This is
gonna be a late night for us. We're creating a
television show. We can pick up the costumes for everyone.
We're not gonna need a wake up call. You're just
gonna go right. I'm gonna go right towards tomorrow. It's
going to the slot costumes and leaf um let's. Uh. So,
we talked about the talk about the mrs. We talked
about federal prison, we talked about the virgin talk. Is

(59:27):
there anything else from night one that really stood out
to you? I'm gonna start guess who my favorite was. Oh, actually,
this is gonna be so easy for you, Brie. I'm
a brief fan. That's his look. That's really that's I'm
a brief fan. Yeah. She had an Australian accent tonight. Yeah.

(59:50):
I don't know how far she'll go. I'm always wrong
on this stuff. I remember last I think it was
I think it was last year. Your favorite you would
choose already? Season my four top my top four on
this podcast all got eliminated Night one. So it's like
an accent like Breeze that you would make or keep
talking in that act. She should have stayed with that
for three or four weeks and then just dropped it

(01:00:12):
to see, yeah, and then see if they really liked
each other. Uh okay, So I was a fan of
bree Hannah was great. Who else stood out to you all?
I liked Calin. I think she's stunning, and I felt
like their connection was the most warm um natural. And
then that that kiss, to me felt more like it

(01:00:33):
was a kiss that was supposed to happen to Night one.
The other two felt a little bit more forced. Me
mm hmmm. I didn't see that much. I saw the
Cinderella entrance, which I'm surprised that that hasn't happened earlier
in any of the seasons. I bet you could find
something like it. I know who you all like. I

(01:00:54):
was astonished how that hadn't happened. Yeah, you don't think
it's ever happened before, maybe like before we ever watched. Really,
I'm surprised. And she left the shoe behind I thought,
I mean, I thought that was good and clever, but simple.
I mean, maybe gets kicked out. She's gone where he
opened the box and he's like, what's in here? No,

(01:01:16):
the butterflies one was good. But the other one where
she's like, I got you, oh, your favorite underwear. That's
your favorite underwear and there's nothing in the box. That's good?
That was that. I like that one. It wasn't too
dirty and it was it was. It was good. I
also feel like he was more of himself. You kind
of saw this he I thought he did a good
job at night one of not being like too uptight.
He kind of relaxed. But you really saw him relax

(01:01:39):
with the blonde when he started like touching his face. Cassie,
Cassie Rudolph, I think here's her name. I really thought
that moment made me like her a lot because I
can see something there. It was really cute. You definitely
felt the chemistry in that moment. What I thought was
really distasteful was that girl who brought the balloon and

(01:02:00):
as a cherry and that I popped your cherry and
then he goes, I think that was an apple, which
I've obsessed with the fact that they said that. I
think he did because we talked to him a couple
of weeks ago, and he was telling us about some
of the entrances and he's like, dude, that one completely
went over my head. I did not get it that
first until she's like, oh, popped. It happens. There's so
much happening. There's so much going on and that, and

(01:02:21):
you want to be present, but you're super nervous. It's
just like you have to and and keep in mind,
four other people are watching you in the limo as
you're interacting with these people. So there's just a lot happening.
So like if I was in Golden's place, that would
have gone over my head too. There's a lot that
I missed night one. Trust me, I faked until I
made it. Um, we don't know we know who Colton

(01:02:44):
has slept with. We don't know where he sleeps. Wait,
why we know that who he slept with? Nobody? Okay,
speaking of going over your head, we don't know where
he sleeps. But if we had a choice or the
ability to recommend something to him, I would tell Colton
to sleep on What asked was about to tell you, Yeah,

(01:03:04):
sleep number, your favorite bed my favorite bedber number? Do
you look at you had? The couple's addition he is
so flat that I looked over one time, Smart that
I looked over and I saw just her nose. Do

(01:03:26):
you like a firm you know? I between like, Actually,
it's a very forward. Actually, I was getting text messages
over Christmas being like, I took your advice, got to

not have anything to say with that. Is that been
with one? Ear two? It's one? All right, everybody, we

(01:04:58):
gotta get Garrett and Becca to bed. I know Ashley's
man is sitting outside the room petting a dog, waiting
for her to get done. To finish up Pulton's night one.
We would be missed to not talk about the preview
for the season. I think that's how we should call
us out. You know, there's a couple of things that
sit out to us, Ashley and I. As we watched

(01:05:19):
first episode, all the girls were in sequence right now,
it must be a thing? Yes or no? Ashley? Is
it a thing? Sequence are great for standing out, like
Taylor Swift always wears them on stage. Just Taylor Swift
might be doing something. You were a sequence. I apparently
wore way too many sequence my season. Um. I love glitter.
My dad used to hate me for it when I

(01:05:39):
was a little, but I love it so but again, yeah,
it's in in the right settings, which I don't think
I always did know the Bachelorette is always the right
setting first. So for those two months it was great.
I haven't were in a sense, but the show I
didn't know, we didn't know what sequence were, we're not
going to get along really told me what it was
actually all right, So the preview for the season, what

(01:06:06):
do you all think this is? I mean, we saw
some man tears. I mean those tears that we saw
tonight are not They're not tears of a boy, their
tears of a man. Are you all excited about what's
to come? Yeah? I am. I want to know why
he jumped over that fence. That's what I'm dying to know.
And I hope it's over something good because if it's
like over something live, I'm like, come on, you built

(01:06:28):
that up. He ran down the driveway for like a
mile and then over the thing. But it's like, that's
the best pull up I've ever seen. I can't even
do that. Like props from show has always been good
at teasing us, like pumping up something and not. I
have a feeling that what we saw when he jumped
over the fence and Chris Harrison freaking out and Colden

(01:06:49):
running down the road. Is going to live up to
everything that we hope it does. I don't think it's
just like something that happened. I think it's a big
deal hopefully, because I mean, I will sound myself. Then
they built up the whole ambulance scene and and and
I don't want to make light of the situation, but
it was a fallout of a bed more. It was

(01:07:10):
like when you open the freezer and your chicken falls out.
On Instagram. David he comes on the podcast all the
time for comic relief. We just love that guy. But yeah,
I just I want to know what that's all about. Yeah,
I think it's gonna be a good season. Actually, do you?
I do, I really do. I'm excited because you know,
they keep telling us the most this one they really

(01:07:31):
mean is the most dramatic. Yeah, I'm excited for what
do we actually think the most dramatic season has been
so far? Jason has to be he did a switch
and I didn't watch that season. That's the first one
I've ever watched. It's so much it's your sort is
like I was sit down and do it all is
just brutal, Like what a just savage move on his part.

(01:07:55):
It's like I'm gonna wait and do this on live TV.
Wild Dun Dun, dune brutal um. So we think it's
many a great season. Yeah, I can't elaborate anymore. All
we saw was a lot of like tanning oil in
picking up women and showers and crying and fences. So
we don't really have much to gather from that. And

(01:08:18):
again Night one is our least favorite. But we started
and this is where the almost famous podcast shines is now.
From here on out, Night One's just weird. It's the same.
We got to meet the characters. We have to meet
the people pursuing Coulton's heart. We've got to see how
Colton responds. He's going to get better. They're gonna get
more intriguing. The stories are gonna start taking place, Kisses
are gonna start happening. It gets better from here on out.

(01:08:38):
Night one's not the best. Becca and Garrett, thank you
so much for coming on. But before you go, we
have an email from one of our listeners that I've
got to ask you all for some advice on um
make sure you listen next week to Almost Famous podcast
as we dive in once again the Colton season. But
like we love to do, we love to read stuff
from you. My boyfriend this says of six months and

(01:09:01):
I are very happy, and I've been on cloud nine.
I found something on his phone that worried me. We
used his phone to take pictures on New Year's Eve.
The next day, I grabbed his phone and told him
I was going to send myself the pictures, while doing
so with his full knowledge, I might add, not snooping.
I saw a naked picture he had taken in the

(01:09:21):
mirror that morning. Immediately taken back. I kind of kept
it to myself, not wanting to embarrass him, but my
mind kept racing why did he take that? Did he
send it to someone? So eventually I just asked in
His response was that basically he was trying to get
back his self confidence after a holiday season of eating
and drinking like crap. He's also a personal trainer and
said he's been considering training for physique competitions this new year,

(01:09:46):
so he wanted a picture as a starting point. I
don't know why below the waist would have been included
in this, but whatever, She says, I don't have any
reason not to believe him, but I don't want to
be naive. He said to great boyfriend, and I have
completely trusted him up until now. Am I just being paranoid?

(01:10:06):
Or would you be worried to help? She says, I,
I'm gonna throw this to you all. If it was
obviously the below the belt is the alarming part. He
saves himself a little bit by being a trainer, but
I still don't know why he has to have his

(01:10:27):
ding dong in there. Coming from somebody who has turned
to blay wan too many times in a past relationship,
I would say keep keep your eyes and ears open um,
don't don't necessarily turn a blind die um. Again, I
don't know him, so I don't know the situation. But

(01:10:48):
it is weird that it's full body what doesn't need
to be but private parts. Don't put on weight in
the holiday cover that up with box. He's starting to
get a self confidence back. Maybe he's quite well endowed.
If it did, though, think about how cool that would be.

(01:11:11):
I would make Garrett so much pasta If if this
was one of my best friends, I would say, don't
be stupid and listen to your gut what do you think, Garrett.
I think what Becca said is don't be stupid, listen
to your gut. Um. But I mean, if this is

(01:11:33):
the first thing and the relationship has been good ever
since the beginning, I mean, just trust his word now,
but definitely keep that in the back of your head
and stay aware. You know, I want to give him
the benefit of the doubt here, so say I'm gonna
go down that path. Yeah, this is where I think
it separates is now it falls on him. He's got
to see that this is weird, right, no matter what

(01:11:54):
is intention. We all know we talked about a little
bit ago. Relationships are weird. We're all weird people. We
do weird things. You're partner is gonna fall in love
with you and deal with your weirdness. Like if Garrett's
loves taking pictures of himself and for the mirror because
it boost is self confidence. If you love Garrett, even
though you might be like, this is the weirdest thing ever,
You're gonna be like, Garrett, just stop being weird. But
like that's fine. He just better send him to me

(01:12:16):
right after that piece of pie. But that this, this
is where my point here. It now falls on him.
He needs to respond to you in a loving way
and say, I get that this is weird, I get
to this awkward. I'm telling you the truth, and let
me just prove it to you. You have, you have
full access to anything of mine, have nothing to hide
from here on out for a while, you know, if
not forever. You don't need to check. But just know

(01:12:38):
that you can trust me. And I want to prove
that to you by my response, because yeah, you just
saw a picture of me butt naked in the mirror
that I didn't send to you like, this is weird.
I'm sorry, So ask him communicate. I think it's healthy
for relationship. Maybe just communicate on that level. Anyways, it
is Hey. Before we go, we have to tell our
sponsors some great things. First off, I want to say
thanks to Stamps dot com. Stands dot com is a

(01:13:00):
special offer that includes a four week trial plus postage

If you guys want to start your Crate and Barrel registry,
you go to Crton Barrel dot com. Jared and I

recommend Creton Barrel. Threat Up go to threat Up dot
com back slash almost famous for an extra thirty percent

to Zipp recruiter dot com back last been to get

(01:13:41):

nearest to you. I mean, this is a great episode.
I terrific. One of those episodes where I leave feeling
like we did a job. We did it. Um, Becca
and Garrett, thank you so much, really thanks for coming out.
It's great to see you all park City. Thanks to

(01:14:02):
the Bachelor. I thought this a blast. What a good
idea tonight to have all the fans watching the show together.
Ashley and Jared, you did fantastic. I mean, I mean
that it was really cool to see the crushes. Uh
you know, we didn't even talk about it. But before
we go, thanks to Chris Harrison for us in the show.
What a cool tribute shout out an amazing package. It
was so I filmed it all on Instagram and I'm like,

(01:14:25):
I'm like the weird, annoying mom that films everything and awesome,
yeah he did it. Was such a cool and what
a cool guy he is. We all love him. Here,
Um Colton, season just getting started, and we're just getting
started for this new season of Almost Famous. We do
this thing here and you've done it. But before we go,
I'll start us. Just follow our lead. Everybody out there listening.

(01:14:46):
