Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hey guys, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. Currently Ben
is in the hospital with Jess and the baby has
not arrived yet, but they're waiting and it's happening. It's crazy.
So he's of course not gonna bother with watching the
episode this so I and he's not gonna record from

(00:26):
the hospital room. So I'm joined by one of my favorites,
my favorite substitute, Rachel Reccia.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Hey, Rachel, Hi, ash I'm so excited. I feel like
this episode is perfect for us because there's so much
crying and so I'm excited to hear all your takes.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Rachel, you told me before we started recording that Lee
thought this is a crazy episode.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
But then you also said that you weren't sure how
you were enjoying the season so far.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Can I tell you that, Like, I know that I
wasn't in the right mindset going into watching this, Like
we're having some serious sleep issues with hidden right now,
it's okay.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
So I just feel like not, I.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Feel like everything is a waste of time because like
my time, it feels like more precious.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
And then when I was watching this episode, I was like,
this is so bad. It's a bad I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I was like, this is a waste of my time
right now, And I have never felt that way about
the show.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
I just feel like there is so much like drama
happening for absolutely no reason, and we're not even getting
We're not even getting the full picture, Like there there
is so much I feel like that the viewers are
not seeing, Like there's no way that these tears are
just happening like this for nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
We'll give me an example then, because I find that
it's actually kind of drama. Lists The only time I
really perked up this episode was when there.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
Was the whole Rose confrontation. What do you think they're
crying over?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
There has to be alcohol just flowing this.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Oh Zoe was so drunk.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
I'm just like, cut like the morning after the group date.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Allegedly based on our observation.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
We like cut to the morning after the group date,
and everyone's just crying, like hysterically sobbing like tears for
like an actual emotion. I think this is all like
ego tears happening, Like I don't even I can't even
comprehend why they're why everone's crying.

Speaker 4 (02:35):
And I cried, Yeah, that made no sense.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
I actually went to rewind it because they were crying
the morning, and then I was like, wait a second,
did I miss something the night of it?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
And what I'm saying we're missing things because they're crying
over Zoe. But then by the end of the episode,
she's not the villain anymore. So there's pieces missing and
I would love to know what actually went down.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
This is kind of how we thought with Maria last
year two. We thought there was some stuff missing, and
Ben explained last week that he thinks that, like, this
is a big flaw of the show lately, is missing
pieces yep, because there's no way that yeah, emotions peak
like this with what we're actually seeing, all right, So

(03:19):
let's just start at the top.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
We get the preview.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Of the Carolina drama to come, but we we learned
from Jesse that there will be two one on one
dates and one group date.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
The group date is downtown.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
At first, I'm like, oh my god, this is gonna
this is like finance.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
No, I'm obviously I.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Know, speculating, Oh you know, he's in finance. This could
be a finance group date, and like that's the stupidest
thing ever. They would never do.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
That their boss suits, and like, yes, I was so cringe.
I was like when they had to like do the
slow motion with the boss suits and I almost like,
oh my god, this show, what has it happened? What
does happened into it? And then we got to the
game and I was like, actually, this is a little
fun the game where they put the dollars in when

(04:07):
you know they the grant money when they had good answers.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Hannah Burner, Hannah Burner, she saved.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
It because I needed it. I thought the whole thing
was bad. And then what was even worse was the
reward card for the grant books.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Oh my god, you meat. Then the menu that they
handed Bailey. Yes, that's when I was like, I'm I'm
very antsy right now. I cannot believe I'm spending my
time watching this.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
I can't believe it.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
I think she's like, I'm gonna pick one of your
T shirts to wear, and he just was not into
it at all.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
This cheese, this corniness is like out of this world.
So fillery uh huh la la la la. But yes,
Hannah Burner was good.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
And then there was like the grant dollars that they
would get from the money machine, and that's a waste
of time too, all right. So then then we get
to Zoe, and Zoe says that, like all the girls
are mean, and what did they even say that? What
was like the particular oh it is the short skirt thing.
That wasn't the start of it.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
They already don't like her because of last week, right,
and then this week they she was like getting a
drink and they were all talking about how short her
dress was. Yeah, and she crying about it. Yeah, she
goes to Grant. She starts this obviously sob story and
then she's like smiling, She's like smirking while she's saying it,

(05:40):
and you could just tell, like lights are on. I
don't know. It was a lot to watch, but he
automatically just like takes her side. At the end of
the group date, he's yelling at the girls, kind of
not yelling, but he's confronting them over what issue? Where's
the issue?

Speaker 2 (06:00):
The issues there being mean because they're saying that she
has a short skirt on, which you know, in today's
day and age, we usually don't do that caddie thing.
They just don't like her, so they're picking on.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Her a little bit.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
There has to be a villain, Yeah, bonds the girls.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Yeah to the villain.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
But so he's leaning into it. And then all of
a sudden, she starts crying and being like I want
to be a part of the group, like you didn't
last week.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
No, she does not care about being part of the group.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
And she was she's just like slurring. It was like
she's a little slurry whatever. It was so of non consequence.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Oh wait, wait, can we talk about how Parisa gets
this rose?

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Oh, very bizarre, very bizarre week. I was so weirded
out last week that she even got a rose over
some of the girls that went home. And then like Parisa,
she's still here now she gets the rose after doing
a choking date. Basically she he has a choking activity
for him where I am going insane with anxiety and

(07:05):
talk thinking about how dangerous it is to stuff this
many rice Crispy treats in your mouth and like this
is supposed to be funny, not funny.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
And he is trying so hard to not have his
arm around her. I literally wrote it down. He's bending
his arm backwards to have it around the chair to
not be around her. And then I'm supposed to believe
that he wanted to give her the rose because she's goofy,
Like you could tell who he has come to you with,
it's so obvious. And then he just like does something different.

(07:36):
It's I'm very confused. That group date was all around.
I didn't enjoy watching.

Speaker 4 (07:41):
It, No, not at all.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
And then we cut to the morning of just hysterical
crime over Zoe.

Speaker 4 (07:49):
Very strange stuff.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Hey everyone, Amy Robock here along with TJ Holmes, and
we have a very exciting announcement to make to all
of you.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
We are now going to be coming to you Monday
through Friday for new part of our Amy and TJ franchise,
If you will, the Morning Run. We're going to help
listeners navigate the busy news cycle and the historic political
season that the country is facing. And we're going to
do this now each and every day.

Speaker 3 (08:22):
Listen to Morning Run on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you listen to podcasts.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
So then we go we go on the one on
one with Carolina and I first thought that like the
whole jumping eight hundred feet off the strat was like
the worst thing that I would never do that, and
I hate that for them, But then it kind of
looked fun.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
I enjoyed this date. Actually, I think she's a lot
of fun. I think they have good chemistry. Her style
is great, and I thought they had a really good
like conversation at dinner. Overall, see her being a front runner.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
She's definitely a front runner, but she definitely still gives
villain energy to me, or maybe is drama energy.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
She's going to be a villain for her and Zoe,
but he really likes both of them, so it really
isn't matter.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
They're both going to get relatively far. But I don't
think either one of them is this. You can also
tell because Carolina was like, you said it was a
good date, not a really good date. I said, really good.
And then at the end of the date with Letia,
he's like, I can imagine this being my wife. So
it's like, Okay, there's a huge difference here. He likes Carolina,
but he's not He's not obsessed like he is with

(09:40):
Litia anyway, So.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
She says she talks about how.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
She has epilepsy and how this can often stand in
her way of like making connections with guys, and he's
very sweet with this, of course, and that's kind of
how we leave it. Anything else to make make comments on.
I will have comments on her later in the episode,
but after this, nothing much to say now.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Uh, morning after again?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Bizarre, That's what I mean.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Morning after But like gets even weirder throughout the episode, right.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Like why are afternoon.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Beverly's gone one on one dates? Kids? Like? Where that's
that didn't happen? What actually happened? Like I feel like
they're just not letting us in.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
This is the weirdest thing because first we know who's
getting the one on one dates at the top of
the episode, it's gonna be Beverly and it's going to
be Katalina. Catalina makes total sense o getting the one
on one. But what's so strange is that when we
finally get to the time that Beverly has her one

(10:45):
on one, they go but Beverly wasn't feeling good yesterday
and today she's just not here and we don't know
if she's ever going.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
To come back.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Why.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
I don't believe that me neither what happened. I don't
think she's sick.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
I don't think she's sick either. I feel like there
is something going down in the house with the girls.
And maybe I'm wrong, but the dramatic crying the morning
after the group date, like, it just feels like something's happening.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
What if they were crying over Beverly and they pretended
as if they were crying over the Zoe drama.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Could be something. She's not sick and she just went home.
They love to like if someone is sick, they love
to like make a whole thing of it, like the
baby and the medical and the ambulance.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Comes to Zach and his COVID. Well, I mean I
guess Zach was the lead, so it's a little bit different.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Yeah. No, there's no way. I just don't believe it.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
If they don't address this in the next episode, I
am going to be so freaking weird out.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
We're just gonna it's gonna be like when Logan just
disappeared from our season.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
They don't address things when people leave they' She's like, oh, like,
we don't see it.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
It wouldn't have been weird if she wasn't supposed to
have the one on one exactly, And they announced it
earlier in the episode, which makes it even weirder because
normally we wouldn't we wouldn't necessarily know who was going
to get the second one on one until later in
weird anyway, So when we moved beyond that, we have
Carolina crying in the house the day after her date

(12:19):
because she's so jealous that somebody else and in this case,
three other girls who already had a group date, they're
going to go have another date with him, and that
includes Latia, Dina and Sarah Fina say all that, Latia, Dina, Serafina.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
What an awkward number? Like three people?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
I guess like they wanted Yeah, why wouldn't they just
put somebody else on the one on one that he
was thinking about using for next week?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Like I had a date one terim with four guys
and it was so weird, like everyone and see the
conversations that are happening. It's uncomfortable. And then all of
a sudden, like Letia just wins the date.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Thank you, Rachel?

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Was there a competition?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Second?

Speaker 4 (13:11):
Wait a second?

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Am I I was thinking? Am I that out of it?
That I missed something?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Totally? She did?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
She just ju was just on the date and Dina
and Sarapina come back. First of all, I'd be kissed
if I was them, because he very obviously chose whom
he liked the best. Yeah, unless there was a game
that we didn't see because they cut it out, because
they're cutting everything else.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
He never sat them down and said, like, I'm going
to bring one of you to dinner.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
What it is that weird? Okay, go to dinner.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
And it's probably the most meaningful part of the episode
is just their connection. She tells him about how her
dad died when she was three months old, and her
mom and her mom his family was there for her
and seems like she had as good of an upbringing
as you could have given that situation. They FaceTime her mom.

(14:10):
That's sweet. I don't think he would have done that
if he didn't expect her to be at hometowns. I
think she's kind of been a front runner since night one.
If anything, I might be crowning her the one to
be right now.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
I agree. I think she like the fact that they
were crying together and her just kissing him over and
over again during one on one. I think it was
the best connection we've seen him have with anyone so far.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
I agree I really I really.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Liked their one on one but again, how did it happen? Like?
How am I supposed to be invested? But I just
have what's happening? People are disappearing one of my days
are just manifesting thin air like this is a mess.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
It's that time of year.

Speaker 6 (15:04):
Valentine's Day is coming up soon. Listen to I Do

But now they're learning from each other and getting it right,

lesson in love you need. If you're alone on Valentine's

Speaker 4 (15:24):
Listen to I Do Part two on America's number one
podcast network, iHeart Open, the Free, iHeart app and Search
I Do Part two and start listening.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Carolina is home and she's crying because somebody else is
on a date, Like she doesn't know how this show works.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
We totally understand.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Go feel like a little weird to yourself in your bedroom,
but like this public Oh my god, I have the
one on one and now I'm so sad we'll never
play well. And then in the midst of this emotional spiral, yeah,
she says to Rose. She and Rose are comparing notes

(16:06):
basically like a one up battle.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Which I will say, like on my season, people would
just like, well, there's a girl in my season when
the cameras went down, would just like casually mention things
and like start planting the seeds of doubt. And it
makes me wonder, like because obviously Carolina is spiraling yah,

(16:29):
and Rose knows this, and I feel like I just
am getting a weird vibe from Rose.

Speaker 4 (16:36):
Okay, that's so funny.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Do you feel the opposite?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
No, no, no, I feel that I told Ben early
on that just based on the teaser for the season
and just Rose's profile fixture in her mini mini bio,
I was like, this one is the undercover shit stir.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
She's like doing that on purpose. Like, you cannot convince
me when someone starts spiraling, when you start to throw
in details that you're not even one hundred percent sure about,
you're doing it on purpose to like make them start
to have doubt. It happened on our season. There's no
way that's not happening here.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
It doesn't make any sense to me how like any
kind of human being in this situation, which is weird enough,
would actually say like, hey, he told me that when
he was dancing with you that he was thinking of me.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Who would say that to Eddie?

Speaker 3 (17:28):
You were trying to put doubt into someone's head who's
spiraling like Carolina. I feel like it's like bags packed,
like she's obviously like not cut out for this type
of dating. And someone who does that, like I don't
trust them, And I feel like Carolina's gonna get the
villain at it when I feel like it should maybe

(17:49):
be Rose.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
It was really a very strange resolution, yeah, because he
pulls Rose aside after Carolina tells him this and she's like,
you know what, maybe I did do that, Like I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Isn't that what Eric trying to tell me? Like maybe
I misinterpreted what you were.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Trying to tell me, but like, I'm sorry if I
did say that, and it wasn't what she meant, And
it was one kind of refreshing to hear her say
like I'm sorry and not be you know, just back up,
like no, no, no, blah blahh she just kind of
admitted to it, but at the same time so so

(18:28):
weird that it does end the episode with a vibe
that like, oh, we're just gonna forget that right that
Rose did this, and Catalina is still a little bit unbalanced. Carolina,
Sorry Catalina, Carolina.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
Because it's like, okay, a first of all, just going
back a little bit, this waste of time, from this
waste of time Golden Batchelor men being here for no reason,
and then now the girls are complaining, we didn't get
enough time because of Carolyn un ropes. You didn't get
enough time because they decided to throw a problem, which

(19:04):
is so unnecessary when you already don't get time.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
More boringness, so unnecessary.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
I agree. That's why I'm so confused. It feels very
like there's just so many roadblocks happening here. And also
like I wanted to ask you this because you know
how sometimes people will do little like activities with the lead,
like every once in a while this episode, every single
conversation I saw, they have these like activities planned. They're

(19:33):
like asking the prom they're doing. I'm so sick and
tired of it. And then these girls are complaining that
Carolina is the reason that they're not in time.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Yeah, that's absolutely not true.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
She's addressing something that I would have absolutely addressed. You
say this.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
She had every right to be emo towards him, because
if somebody said that to me, like he was thinking
about another girl and he was dancing with you, yeah,
you're gonna say it because not because he partially upsetting
because he apparently was thinking about another girl during the
intimate moment, but mostly because he told another girl supposedly

(20:14):
that you know, in her head, he told another girl,
I was thinking about you when I was with her.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
And what I love the most is when when he
sat down with Carolina. Initially, the first thing he says
is I've been thinking about you. It's clearly it's like
go to live.

Speaker 4 (20:31):
Oh yeah, I've been thinking about you.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
Oh my god. And then when she's like someone said
this and he starts listing off names, he was.

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Okay. First he goes, was it Bailey? Was it Dina?

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Was it?

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Who that? There was one other? Sorry? Who else was
the other one? Who said? Oh no, he said Lytia,
and he likes Lytia.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
I thought initially when he was like Dina, was it
Bailey was because like he didn't like them and he
wants to get rid of them, and then he, by
pross of elimination, got to Rose. He totally doesn't like Dina,
and we know he doesn't like Bailey because he eliminates her.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
I don't think he likes Rose either, because when he
was sitting down with Rose, it was very like you
said this about the girl. I like, like you could
tell he wanted to save this connection with Carolina.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Yeah, so was this like a producer move, like they
wanted him to.

Speaker 4 (21:23):
Keep her sort of thing, because but like he Yeah, she's.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Having the conflict with now the new villain because then
all of a sudden, at the end of this episode,
Zoe's slow dancing with this like angelic music behind her.
I'm like, isn't this the villain? Or are we or
do we hand that over?

Speaker 4 (21:41):
This is kind of what happens when there's no true villain.

Speaker 3 (21:43):
Yeah, it's so true. Yeah, I'm like, imagine, like she's
that terrorize.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Us in that house.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
It was so easy because we all just like baited
against her. But now I can't even figure out what's
happening and who's right and who's wrong because it's also stupid.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
Yeah yeah, the prom thing too, You're right, that was
just extra extra.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
We don't need it. We don't need the guys from
Golden Coming on. They added nothing.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Okay, it seems like we're getting these weird eliminations where
they're focusing on like in the episode Girls that are
gonna be eliminated that Bailey had a lot of time.
Ali Joe has always been the girl that was like,
you know.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Oh, I want my time.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
I'm not getting time for purpose. We know Ali Joe's purpose,
but she's gonna swing on everyone but Alicia. Like that's
another one where I feel like we're missing pieces.

Speaker 4 (22:37):
Alisha last week was weird.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
They must have had the most awkward conversation of all time,
or they massively disagreed on something, or maybe like.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
What if the producers were just like they went to Grant,
They're like, oh, Alishaan's to go home and he's just
like okay, and she did it. Like It's like it
feels like we're missing something because they're as a connection.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
And there's no way, oh he had a connection with
Alicia Knight one for sure, and then for it to
disappear during.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
Two very very weird.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
I don't know, all right, Well, so then then Chloe
the model, she goes home as well.

Speaker 4 (23:16):
Wasn't surprised by that.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
And now we see the preview for the next few weeks,
and we hear Rose in the background saying, you stabbed
and you backstabbed me.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
You did me dirty?

Speaker 3 (23:30):
How?

Speaker 4 (23:31):
I don't know how. I don't know how.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
I really hope we're not the only ones that see this,
because this is actually crazy. Yeah, if we somehow made her,
maybe she'll do more crazy stuff. But I think Rose
is wrong.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
Look, Carolina is not. She's She doesn't come across me
as innocent, right.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
She was straddling him making out with them.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
There's something very emotional about her, and you know you
and I are very very emotional. You can't like we're
the last people to talk. But like, she definitely has
like that thing where it's like she's not one hundred
percent beloved, which like you and I weren't one hundred
percent beloved either. Because some people, and especially the way
they portray people personalities like ours, it always comes across as.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Like, oh, watch out for her. She might be so
what's going on? But in this situation, it's definitely Rose
in the wrong.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
I agree, and I think we're just not gonna see it.
I think it's just gonna.

Speaker 2 (24:36):
I don't see what happens well and definitely God as well.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
So that was the episode.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
We will be getting on one of these girls, Bailey, Ali,
Joe to tell us what happened to Beverly and we
will do that next week because I'll make them give
us that.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Please why and I'm we need answers. We need someone
on the inside because this is wrong. All right?

Speaker 2 (25:05):
Well, good times as always. Rachel, thank you so much
for being here.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
We love you.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
And if you haven't caught our episode breaking down the
breaking news that is that the Bachelorette's not coming back,
join me and Rachel and Trista for that one as well.
That's up on our feed. We love you guys, till
next time. I'll see you then, Yes, good luck out there.
