Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hey guys, welcome to another episode of the Almost on
his podcast. Today, Ben and I are going to break
down a little bit of our experience at Nick and
Natalie's wedding. Ben came for legit twenty four hours.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Of no what fourteen no.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
In Georgia for fourteen hours.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Yeah, I'll tell you the whole story. It was wild.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Okay, Well should I, okay, go for it.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Well, here's what happened, Okay. I really wanted to be
a part of celebrating Nick and Natalie. It means a
lot to me to be invited to celebrate the two
of them, and obviously with the welcoming of their new
baby and their love story and just being around Nick

(00:53):
now for almost nine years. I wanted to celebrate him
on his wedding day, and I want to celebrate Natalie
on her wedding day, and so it was really important
for me to be there. I unfortunately had an event
that I had committed to months previous on Friday night.
The wedding is on Saturday night. The wedding is in Savannah, Georgia, Georgia.

(01:16):
I do live in Denver. My event was in Denver,
and so I did the event on Friday night. The
only flight out of Denver to Savannah was leaving at
nine am out of Denver, landing at three fifteen in Savannah, Georgia.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
When the trolleys are going to pick us up from
the hotel at.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Four at four o'clock.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
So if your flight was delayed by anything, really you
would have missed the ceremony.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
I would have ubered.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
I was prepared to change in the airport and go
right to the wedding, and you got.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
On the trolley. Is the nuttiest. I just don't even
know how this happened.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
So Savannah's airport is about twenty minutes from my hotel.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
This is logistically what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
I landed, I ran, I got an uber, got to
my hotel at about three forty.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
We ran upstairs.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
I got time to shower, put my suit on and
make the trolley that left. It's about a forty minute
trolley ride. These are cool trolleys that we took out
to the wedding. It's a forty minute trolley ride from
the hotel to the wedding. I did make the trolley
that left at four o'clock. I was impressive.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Impressive, like you guys. I was out with Joe and
Serena and two Bachelor producers and we were having the
greatest time. Got to walk around Savannah. I love this city.
I have to go back and bring my mom. It's
like too cute. I know that. Like everybody said, you know,
it's got a great reputation and everything, but it's almost

(02:43):
like I feel like underrated. And I'm sitting down at
brunch it must be like eleven thirty and Ben's like,
I'm taking off now, and I'm like, I am just
trying to figure out how we finish this meal. And
then I go back and I have enough time to
get ready. Let alone. You're flying across country in this
miuth that time.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
It was wild, It really was.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
It was an aggressive It was an aggressive choice, but
I did want to be there and I made it.
And so once I hit to trolley, there was like
a sense of peace that came over over me, you
know that, like, hey, I made it.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I'm gonna be there. This is all good.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
I had texted you because you were gonna, you know,
kind of keep me updated on how everybody was getting
out there and if I needed to find my own uber.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
So we get to the wedding.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
I'll just close this story with saying my flight took
off at six o'clock the next morning back to Denver,
and so I was there literally fourteen hours.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Ben you didn't you even mention that on the trolley
back that you had to wake up at four thirty four.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
I got like four hour three hours of sleep. I
think we got back to the back one at one am,
So I got about three hours of sleep, three and
a half hours of sleep, woke up, hit the airport again,
flew back, landed in Denver around noon, and uh and
started my Sunday.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
It was wow.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Here's what here's the cap off this story. Here's what
makes this even crazier. So I did land at noon.
I had my wife, My wonderful wife had booked me
a birthday dinner, no goodness, massage had been great too.
A birthday dinner that evening at this really cool restaurant
named Lerdo. Because it was a month wait list to

(04:15):
get in. So this is like a twelve seater, like
fourteen seater, like prefixed menu, cool restaurant. We got to
do that. That started at five and so I came home.
She was like, you got to be so tired. I
was like, I'm so tired. I really am so tired.
She's like, do you want me to cancel the dinner?
I was like, no way, this is so fun to me.
And so we did it. We made it work, and

(04:36):
I think I'm still recovering. Quite honestly, I don't think
I'm fully awake and since the last you know, four
days of being back. But that's my travel schedule to
get to this wedding. That's probably the least important part
of this. Everything went well. We did take the first
trolley out of the wedding. I was with Ashley.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
They used me as a pregnant lady to make sure
that we got I mean, you guys, it was midnight
when we pulled away, so it wasn't like we were
leaving early. They had its scheduled so like the last
trolley would leave at one thirty.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Goodness gracious, and again it's a forty minute drive back.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Yeah, but it was a nice little group we had.
We had Joe and Serena and Natasha and then Jared.
Jared was a groomsman, so he was with Nick all day.
He started his day with Nick and the grooms men
and a couple other like special people. They went to brunch,
they went back to the next hotel, they got ready,

(05:36):
and then they went to the venue. They took pictures
and all that and everybody. Everything was just so beautiful
at the at the venue, the horses, just the backdrop.
You could not go wrong with this backdrop. Right there's
the pond, and then they had all the blue and

(05:56):
white flowers. What was There's a moment to me where
I was like this, what was the most emotional moment
of the wedding for you? Because I have a one
and I was looking forward to Nick's wedding for like
my whole life of knowing him, because he is such
a mushball on the inside and there's nothing really better

(06:18):
than Nick crying because he tries to have that hard
exterior but then like you know it, when it cracks,
it's like, oh, this was worth the crack, you know.
So I was always looking forward to him watching his
wife come down the aisle and to do his vows.
But there was one moment that I was not expecting. Sure,
before I tell that, you tell yours.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Well.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
This wedding was at Natalie's sisters farm, and so this
is an active horse farm and it does have a
lot of animals around and it's very well kept.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
It's absolutely gorgeous.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
And as Ashley was saying, the backdrop for this was
magnificent and the weather was great, so everything you know,
aesthetically when it comes to the you was working perfectly.
I think the most emotional moment for me would have
to be when Natalie turned the corner with River in
her arms.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Well, that's it.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
That was me too.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I was like, how do I not just break down
in an ugly cry, like I can't handle this. So, guys,
they had pulled Natalie up like everybody else was kind
of just standing there, so it wasn't too secretive. But
there was a door so that we all couldn't see Natalie,
and they pulled her up in a car so that
again we couldn't see her until these little outdoor doors opened,

(07:34):
and she had River in a white dress, River also
in a white dress in her arms, and it was
so like ethereal and goddess like, and I was just like.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
I can't Yeah, it was.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
It was a really beautiful moment because Nick isn't just
looking down the aisle at his you know wife, He's
looking down the aisle at his family, and I think
it was gorgeous. And River was kind of crying and whimpering,
which even made it better, which.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Was like adorable because it wasn't like a whale.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
It was just like, yeah, it was like you could
hear her before they walked through the door, you could
hear River, and then when they walked down the aisle,
she was still cooing and it was like this beautiful,
beautiful moment where the family came back together again. I
found that to be definitely the most emotional and also
maybe the most real moment of not saying their wedding

(08:32):
wasn't real, but like that moment just felt like this
is what this is about. Like this is the real
moment of the wedding. This is the family. They're making
this commitment to each other, they're building this bond with
each other, and they're doing it together. And that felt
like it just could have encapulated the whole wedding. Was
that moment there definitely Well, they're obviously outside of the

(08:55):
beauty of the ceremony, which was outdoors. Nick and Natalie
walked back down after being announced husband and wife, two
white doves flying over their heads.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
I've never seen that happen, or at least I haven't
seen it happen.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
That to me, shocker to me, I had no clue
that was happening. All of a sudden, there's a white
bird flying right over my head. No idea where it
came from, but it was gorgeous. I'm sure the pictures
of that will be absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Yeah, oh my gosh, yes, the professional photos, like in
black and white. That'd be so amazing.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
And these doves are gonna fly off to live the
best life ever. I mean, this place was a bird's
paradise in all sorts of ways.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
And then we have to mention that Charlene and Andy,
her husband, were the officiants. They did a great job.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Who starting for years and been very close to Nick
for years. They did do a great job. You could
tell they took it very personally to write this. You
could also tell they had practiced this many times as well,
so this was a.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
This was their first time officiating too, but.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
They did great.

Speaker 4 (10:00):
After the ceremony, we did go to a cocktail party
and had cocktails, which was great because there were so
many people.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Because of me kind.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Of getting in, you know, late, and maybe everybody kind
of staying in different hotels to get to see again.
I got to reminisce with some friends and some old friends,
some new friends. As you mentioned Natasha, who you know,
I don't know very well, but I've been at some
events with her and we always seemed to have a
great time together. We always seem to be near each
other for whatever reason. There's more stories of Natasha later

(10:31):
coming up, also Joe and Serena.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
I love Natasha. She's great.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
She's great.

Speaker 4 (10:46):
And then we moved into the tent, which really was
the start of the reception. There wasn't this like sit down,
slow dinner. It was kind of buffet style with hey,
grab and go, get your food, have food, have drinks,
and the dance floor started. The dance floor started, and
right away Chris Souls, who he just did an interview

(11:09):
with and I think you find this interview very fascinating
to catch up with Chris in his life. We'd mentioned
during the conversation with Chris that there I did have
a story about Chris from this wedding.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
That you didn't want to discuss with Chris so well,
it was because I want to save it for this episode.
So you wanted to save it? Was it because you
wanted to talk about how he and Victoria interacted without
him listening?

Speaker 4 (11:33):
No, this isn't even about Victoria. Did they interact? Let's
talk about that.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Oh okay, No. So everybody was obviously whispering that Victoria,
his acts who he saw for like three months during COVID,
was there at the wedding and newly single, and Chris
was there also single, so we were like, oh, is
there going to be something stirred up tonight? And I

(12:01):
didn't see any I didn't see any real interaction between them,
did you.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
I of course made it awkward at one moment when
I was standing with the three of them and I said, hey,
do you Chris if you ever make Victoria?

Speaker 2 (12:15):
Oh my god, man.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
That was good.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
And then there was like some random there that didn't
know Chris and Victoria and they're like, He's like, oh,
have you guys not met yet? And I was like,
this is perfect, this is all I wanted to do this.
Oh my gosh, the moments I live for.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
So what's the story that you didn't talk to about
with him?

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Well, the dance floor Orbans opens up. A few of
us hit the dance floor right away because that's.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
What Ben does. And I am the one that's like, oh,
the dance floor starting. I am not a dancer, but
I am.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
And Chris joins me. He does one move. It's an
incredible move. It shows his flexibility and his knees and
his you know, his ankles and his hamstrings. Rops to
the floor and rips his pants from top to bottom
in the back. Literally, Chris has split his pants.

Speaker 2 (13:10):
Okay, he was mentioning this. He was like, I can't
do that anymore. He was saying something to me like
I would do that, but I can't anymore because my
pants are split. And I was like, I have no
idea where you're dogging.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
They are as split as split can be. I mean,
there's nothing left his his whole butts out like literally,
it has just ripped wide black.

Speaker 3 (13:29):
He had black.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Underwe his suit jacket kind of like hung down below
so you couldn't really tell. But he wasn't going to
take any more risks for the rest of night. So
this happens right away. As soon as we walk in,
Chris Souls rips his pants. Absolutely fantastic. Moment for me

(13:51):
and so many obviously. Then we continue dancing a couple
other noteworthy topics. The dance floor was really a good time.
A lot of people joined in, a lot of people
had a blast dancing. There was a there was just
a lot of good vibes going on in that room.
And at one moment, they they let off the uh

(14:12):
what do you call those things?

Speaker 2 (14:13):
The confetti burster to.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
The confetti bursters, like for this was like kind of
after a toast, uh, And it wasn't Jared's toast. This
was a toast that was separate than Jared's. This was
a toast, and the confetti bursters go off. All of
us are kind of standing around. Natasha is actually sitting
in at a seat during this time, and she looks

(14:38):
back to see where all this confetti's coming from, and
one of the confetti bursts right into her eye, I
mean literally shoots her directly in the eye from like
point range.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
The pressure was intense.

Speaker 4 (14:53):
Knocks her to the ground down out. Nobody knows what's
going on. I turned back around to see just if
a how you know, if everybody's having a great time,
and Natasha's on the ground surrounded by Joe and Serena,
and she looks up and her eyes inflame.

Speaker 3 (15:12):
She's claiming she can't see I believe her.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
Gary.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Her head, she said, is full of pressure. And again
we're out in the middle of nowhere. And so this
was about a forty five minute ordeal of Natasha kind
of trying to take a break, getting some you know,
support from some people there that were like, I think
local nurses putting ice on it. But this was a

(15:38):
real moment where she did those things, and directly number
four and five on the rules on the outside of
the burster says, do not look these doubts, you know,
do not put these up to your face, and do
not look down the chute or the barrel of the
fetti burster. She not on purpose, did both and she
took one hard to the face.

Speaker 2 (15:58):
I didn't I wasn't here for that. I don't know
where I was. But I came back and she didn't
have any makeup on, and I felt I was like,
what happened? And she told me, and I was like,
oh my gosh, I was scared for her. She didn't
go to the hospital, but you know, I was a
little concerned.

Speaker 4 (16:14):
Yeah, I just talked to her yesterday and she said
that her eye is bad enough that she is going
to go to the doctor.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Afraid of her going to sleep on the eye's.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
Now she is going to go to the doctor to
get the eye checked out. This was a very real
thing that was happening in the midst of a really
great celebration. And speaking of great celebrations, Jared got to
deliver a speech, and so did Victoria Fuller. Both people
from Bachelor World were giving speeches at this wedding. I
don't know if that means Jared was the best man

(16:45):
or if Victoria was the maid of honor.

Speaker 2 (16:47):
I think Jared was like second in line to best man.
He was the second one down the aisle. Well, I
think Nick also just knew that Jared's great on the mic.
He's a good storyteller, he'd have a good balance of
humor and senti mentality, and uh it was. It was
interesting because his parents gave the speech first, and then
they started dancing, and then Nick Nally took a little

(17:09):
outfit change dinner break and Jared's like, I think I'm
I think I'm not gonna give my speech, and then
I'm like Jared we We've been talking about this speech
for a long time. You got to give this speech.
I was very disappointed Jared. They come they come back in,
everybody's still dancing, and then Nick comes up to him.
He goes, you're gonna give your speech now, and I
was like, yeah, I'm so excited, And yeah, Jared did

(17:32):
a great job. He's supernatural. Uh he's talking about you know,
funny funny times when they live together. He forgot to
add a couple of parts about like how Nick used
to take care of him kind of like he'd like
make him breakfast or he'd knock on his door in
the morning and be like yo, you up, like let's
go play, you know, like he just always wanted his company.

(17:53):
And he also he's also shared this story that I love.
It was like the moment that we knew that Natalie
would be different in next life, and that was when
he was basically like somebody who would be on the
other end of ask Nick. You know his segment on
his podcast where he was the one basically calling in

(18:14):
and being like there's this girl and like I've been
seeing her, but I don't know if we should be official,
and I think she's away on vacation with another guy,
because I've been looking at her friends tag pictures and
they're not lining up with her story, and it was amazing.
That was the moment where it was like my it
was my sister and I on speakerphone and we let

(18:37):
Jared in on all of this afterward, and he was
just like, this was the moment where like, Nick, if
you care this much about this girl's whereabouts, I think
it's time to make things official.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
Well, they did, obviously, and today we see the result.
It was a beautiful wedding. We're very happy for the
two of them. Jared did do a great job. You
gave a great tribute to not only Nick but also
Natalie and and the love that they share.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
It was a great wedding. Ashley and I did.

Speaker 4 (19:10):
Then kind of after these speeches, say hey, it's midnight.
You know us on the almost famous podcast, We're not
night Owls. We give it our all for as long
as we can, and then once we can't give it
our all anymore, we're out, like That's that's who we are,
that's what we do. We leave at the peak of
our you're having fun, you know, we do the George

(19:31):
Costanza leave before things go bad for you.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
And we left at the peak.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
We had a great trolley ride back again with some
great people from Bachelor Nation. We got to catch up
with them, We got to hear about their lives and
all the cool things happening. We'll bring some of them
on the podcast. Yeah, and then.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
You want to talk about your kilty check sometime on
the podcast.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
I would love to.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Hey, during a slow week during headlines, we're gonna have
you talk about your sperm sample.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Yeah, we'll give We'll give tons of insight into the
life that I am living. But until that, we have
a lot to look forward to here at the Almost
Famous podcast that is the Nick and Natalie wedding breakdown.
Congratulations to the two of them for the family that
they have, for the honeymoon that they're on, and for
the love that they share. So until next time, I've

(20:16):
been Ben.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
I've been Ashley. Bye, guys.
