Speaker 1 (00:03):
This is a podcast called twenty five whists Stuck in
football and they are war a whist so yet it's
too beat? But what did you expect? It's a podcast
called twenty five Whistles Wine twenty five Whistles presented by
DraftKings sports book and official sports betting partner of the NFL.
(00:24):
Download the DraftKings app and use to code Bobby Sports
to get in on the action. Wearing his podcast glove,
still rocking his Cowboys hat, blowing that whistle. Here's producer,
ready ahead. Oh that's how I feel, too, buddy. It's terrible.
It's terrible. Who has it worse? Me or Eddie or
(00:45):
fans of the Miami Hurricanes Hurricanes.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Hurricanes.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Maybe I mean it's not good. It's not good either way.
I mean, I think they're all the same for different reasons. Listen,
I'll go first. We lost again. We were I was
on stage age We're playing.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
I was trying not to watch the game because I
want to focus on being on stage, and I walked
off during a little video montage and we wrought by
seven in the fourth quarter. Close fourth class, like, oh
we're gonna win this freaking game. Only watched the first
half before I got to go on stage and we
lost again, Arcas, I lost again. I hate it and
it sucks, and we're what two and four? Three? No, yeah,
(01:21):
it's two and four. Yeah. I don't want to say it,
it is. It sucks and I was trying to be helpful. Yeah,
it sucks. So anyway, I'm moving on. I did make
a lot of money on that game, though, because Arkansas covered.
I knew they would cover. Is my guarantee, so I
keep my money. Yep, I made it. I made good,
but but it sucks and it's kind of spoiled this
whole football season for me. Now, Eddie, you still have usually.
(01:45):
I was lost bad. It was really bad, really bad.
Really Cowboys lost bad. And I lost a lot of
money on the Cowboys because I kept betting more to go, like, oh,
for sure they're going to cover now fourteen by more
than goun cover for sure. But it was embarrassing for
you guys.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
It's it's to the point where, like I no longer
think we could win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Overnight.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
I said, with this team, the way we played last
night and the way we lost the Cardinals, I just
don't think there's a chance.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
The Cardinal though, wasn't fair you had you were missing
at least two linemen.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
I know.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
And we're still getting hurt. We got we lost four people,
five people yesterday too. I mean it's it's just at
this pace, we can no longer win the Super Bowl.
In my mind, we can make it to the playoffs
and probably get beat by San Francisco again.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Maybe though, if you go in as the two, you
don't play until the NFT Championship, right, and hopefully somebody
else can take them out, Yeah, or anything, anything's possible.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Eddie has been so moony and pissy this morning because
of his Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Well it's the first time I've I've turned off a
Cowboys game.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I've never turned it off. I've never done that. That sucks.
But I couldn't watch the last eight minutes of the game.
I'm like, I'm done. I'm considering not going to an
Arkansas game now later in the year that I was
planning on going to, just because I don't want to
go be sad.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
So you got to look, you gotta look after your heart,
protend your heart.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
I know. So being an Arkansas fan sucks. Being a
Cowboys fan sucks right now, although you guys are still
winning and you're still I still believe the Cowboys can
do it being a Patriots fan.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So it's awful, dud.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
You guys got ran again.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
We were very very very bad, very bad.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
I mean, we had a pretty miserable weekend, let's be honest,
all of us, and then Mike D's Texas Longhorns.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
Yeah, it was awful, dang, I don't want to make
it worse. It's a sad freaking show.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
What I beat him in fantasy?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
I lost everything. Everything was lost.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
I scored the second highest point total in the league,
that's what, one hundred and sixty points and lost the
guy who scored one hundred and eighty number one, number
two score. It was not a good week. Isn't good?
So that are we done? We go home now, Well,
we know we can do. We can do the tittle tattle.
All right, here we go, name the tittle tattle.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
With one of the best offenses in college football, do
you think gets USC's defense that'll hinder them from making
the College Football playoff?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Defense sucks? So I think we already know they sucks.
It's gonna be their offense. If their offense can't produce
every single week at a high level, they're not going
to win. Their defense can't stop anybody. They know that,
so yes, but no, they have to rely on their offense.
So yeah, they're giving out thirty forty points a game.
They're gonna have to because all the teams are playing.
I think five of their next six opponents are ranked,
(04:27):
and you're just playing a numbers game with teams that
have skills. So what defense travels well? Sometimes offense doesn't
basketball and football, they just better be on offensively. And
I think if they're not able because their defense is
just gonna not be good, it's just not gonna be good.
I think a good game is their defense being below average.
(04:49):
That's a good game. Below average, just below average. They're
an offense can be great at times, but you better
make sure it's great every week. Because we're looking at
Notre Dame.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Utah, cal Washington, Still Oregon.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Yeah, and their defense gives up almost thirty points of games.
So so we already know the defense sucks. So you
can't be mad at something you already know. You can't
get mad at your husband. You wake up one morning
and he's five foot three, he's five three when you
married him, Why you'm mad at it? Why you'm mad
at him? And five three? Now you can't get better though,
Like I get it.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
It's got to be frustrating when your defense sucks, but
you can't like get better in three, three weeks, four
weeks improve certain things.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
You can get better all kinds of stuff, but so
are the offenses that you're playing a good point, probably
at the same rate or faster. And then also, you
can only get so good if you do not have
the actual talent or skills or coaching. And it just
seems so weird that Lincoln Riley cannot get a defense
it doesn't matter where he is.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
I was talking to my father in law, who was
a massive Oklahoma fan and love Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma.
It's hurt by him leaving, and I was like, what's
the deal, Like, if I were Lincoln Riley, I would
go Obviously I suck at defense, So I'm gonna get
somebody that I trust to do it. And I'm just
stepping away from the defense run it because they've done
it wrong for so many years and it's kept me
(06:02):
from national championships that we keep doing stuff the same way.
It's always gonna have the same result. So it's happening
again at USC. So why can they not just find
a defensive expert that's not been with them forever? Yeah,
which is the case, and go the defense is now yours.
I'll check in occasionally, but it's yours, and let's see
if something different happens. And I understand that there's recruiting
as well, or where you gonna put the emphasis and recruiting.
(06:25):
But if you don't change, nothing changes. And you know
what I see happening, nothing changing. Where he'll they'll have
a great season, they'll lose two games, one or two
games and miss the national championship, or if they get
in the final four, they'll lose the first one because
once they play one of these teams who can stop
their offense from running all over them, one of these
speed based teams like a even an Oregon's gonna be
(06:45):
tough for them. But you play Georgia, Heck, you go
play Alabama, the USC might win. But it's a whole
different ballgame when you're playing with just players generally who
are bigger and faster and stronger.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Yeah, even the physicality of like Utah always gives them
a tough, and then you mix in athleticism of a
Georgia that'd be rough.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Utah needs a quarterback, yes, and if they had a quarterback,
I'd be trouble. If they don't have camp, then they're
not gonna win the game. But I do think that
us he probably loses two games and they're awesome offensively,
Kayla Williams is awesome. So I'm gonna blame it on
their offense though, because we already know the defense sucks.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Yes, So what's your fall on? What did your father
in law say about that whole theory?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
I just kind of lid it out to him. He's like,
that's a good point. Then you moved on. Yeah, I
moved on. I didn't really need any analysis back. He
was like, I don't know, man, He's like that was
always already. We couldn't put up a defense, all right.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
Else, which one loss team do you still think has
the best chance to make the playoff? Alabama or Texas.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
He gets Alabama because they can still pretty much play
their way into it. I mean Texas can too, but
Alabama for sure can. If you win the SEC and
you have one loss year in Yeah, if you win
the big twelve and you have one loss, you're probably in.
But we'll see. And if there's a one lost Big
twelve team and there's a one SEC team, they're going
(08:01):
with the one lost SEC team. So just based on that,
Alabama has a better shot. And again they look pretty
good this last week. The quarterback was finally chunking. Before
the game, they were like, oh, if he doesn't, all
they gotta do is stop the run. He threw three
hundred yards a and M's got a really salty defense too,
(08:23):
So I think Alabama. But Alabama's next three games or
against Arkansas, Tennessee and LSU, Now those are all three
games they have to show up for. It's gonna be
tough and it's going yes, And so Arkansas is in
Tuscaloosa makes me sick to my stomach. Come on, Manna,
(08:45):
you can do this. It's gonna be rough. Tennessee in Tuscaloosa,
that should be a pretty good game. And then LSU,
even though LSU doesn't have defense, again, they're gonna push them.
So I could see Alabama possibly losing one of those,
but I think they're probably gonna be big favorites in
all three Texas next three games. At Houston, they'll kill them.
At BYU. No, byusing in Austin, they should whoop them
(09:06):
pretty good. But the Kansas State Texas game looks to
be pretty solid game. I'm gonna say this. I watch
Kansas State and I hate they lost to Oklahoma State
this last week. I love their coach. I love how
he coaches. Yeah, it's freaking fourth and four on like
the minus twenty six, and he's like, well, we got
to go for it, let's go, and he goes because
he also trusts their defense to hold him to a
field goal. Because I would love playing for that dude.
(09:29):
And Cooper yeah, Cook was awesome. Yeah, and they're our
latest episode of too Much Access. But like that Kansas
State coach, aggressive, offensive minded, trust the defense to hold
him to a field goal. And they ended up losing
the game and that sucked. But I did like watching
that game and how they play. Somebody said to me,
(09:51):
to hey, looks like the Too Much Texas curs is
still happening. We choose what episode of peves to me,
we could have easily put out the Western Kentucky episode.
They won, It wasn't like we put it out and
then they lost.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
Yeah, yeah, people are saying, we're putting like the one
person because he's want that.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Remember, yeah he's upset. And it wasn't even somebody listened
to the show. It was just like some Kansas State
fans upsets Kate State ninety five. Yeah, we can do
whatever we could put off. We could have put up
UNLV and they were had a buye week. We could
have put up Western Kentucky. I guess we could have
waited on you ANDV. We could have put up Cincinnati,
(10:29):
but we put up Kansas State because it was a
really good episode. It's right, yeah, back off now. If
we start putting everything out and they start losing the
week after over like everybody trouble, that's trouble. That's the
Madden cover. Yes, yes, if Joey Harrington ends up being
on our show, that's bad news. If Dante Culpepper ends
up being on our show, If Peyton hillis ends up
(10:49):
being on our show. So, but that's that's what's up.
I really like Kansas State. I think Kansas State could
actually play Texas pretty strong. Right.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Next question, After another weekend full of injuries around the NFL,
what do you think is more likely to happen next
off season, turf fields change the grass or the brotherly
love shove rule changed.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
The turf to grass. Mostly. I really the brotherly shove
is pretty fair. It is fair. There's a lot of
teams not making it. Everybody can do it, everybody can
try to do it, and some teams I think I
saw that the Eagles were like ninety one percent yeah
in it, and I think that other teams are like
eighty three percent. It's that dead numbers off a little bit.
(11:28):
So it's a most. But also if you quarterbacks think
for one yard most of the time, you're gonna get it. Hey, man,
the Eagles did it like a yard and a half
two year crazy.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
I know, wild, it's crazy. Hey, the Cowboys did it too.
I mean it was a terrible game, but we.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Did the shove. Yeah. But now everybody's got to learn
how to do shove right. I think the key I
dissected a little bit. I think the key is just
to stay low.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
But those front guys stay low, and I think if
you do that, you can't you can't beat it.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
What if you just like Troy Polamalu and just jumped over.
I just think the momentum if you time it and
you jump and then you wrap your arms around their
waist that you're going jumping over them. Then you pull
them back because it's hard to stop. I mean, can
you like boost you throw people over. It's a full
steam train coming through and it's coming. They know the
(12:12):
count and they know the count. That is the factor.
If everybody knew it was going to go one, two, three, go,
it would be different. It's pretty amazing.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Man and Jalen can what squatted?
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Yeah? Yeah truck Yeah so that also, Yeah, I think
I don't think the brotherly shove gets changed this year.
Brotherly Chef like Toush push, brother brother show because it's Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
I know, I get it. It's cool.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Brotherly show.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
The Cowboys do it. Do you call it the Toush
push or what.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Do you mean? I call it the cowboys are doing it.
I probably just call it the Toush push. Yeah, this
is the quarterback sneak with friends attack. But justin Jefferson's hurt,
Kelsey's hurt. Yeah, a chain's now hurt. I think the
(13:02):
turf to grass, though, that is an advantage or disadvantage
that you can't control. Even if it's injuries, you can
change your grass filled out. It's harder to go up
and down with grass, obviously than it is turf. Turf
you can pick up quickly and change your stadium to
be Ye Disney on ice whatever whatever you want, Taylor
Swift concert exactly. So I do think that's probably the
(13:25):
turf turf's bad news. It seems like I don't know,
I've messed around on it, but I didn't get hurt.
And then all the guys look like idiot's all a
little pebble, black pebbles o the face? All right? What else?
Speaker 2 (13:35):
Last? Some one here getting out scored seventy two to
three in the last two games. Do you think Belichick's
seat is officially starting to heat up.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I think he's probably like, I don't want to be
here anymore more than they're going, Hey, you don't need
to be here. I think he's going, I I don't
know about this anymore. And a lot of it's on
him too. Let's not act like it's not. And you're
a die hard Patriots fan, and I admire you still
wearing your Patriots hat. I wore some Arkansas shorts to
therapy yesterday, and my therapist is like, brave, shut up.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
Like I'm at therapy for a recons That's right.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
So I could see Belichick not leaving after this year.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
But next year I saw that he applied to a
few jobs at Duncan. I don't know if that was
real or not, but I saw him probably wasn't.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Yeah, but it also does it tarnish his legacy a
little bit because now we have a like a bigger
palette on where he's been able to perform without Brady.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Yeah, the sample size is much bigger now than it
was two three years ago, where you're starting to think,
I don't.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Know, May will have to do it, but Brady couldn't
leave and Belichick can't do it and gets worse.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Yeah, it's yeah, it's getting worse by the game.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
How do you feel about it?
Speaker 2 (14:39):
It's definitely starting to heat up. I honestly could see
him leaving after the season. It's just that roster is
so bad. But that's also on him because he's a GM,
of course, and I could see him just being like,
you know what, I do not want to rebuild here,
maybe go somewhere else after this year, and Kraft is
just I think Kraft will be over it too.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
He's old though, you want to go somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Go to like a good roster, like say Staley gets
f the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
I guess he's just so old it's hard to start over.
That's true. He does have his son with him. I
mean that might be a part of the reason he's
sucking too, that he puts his sons in his old decordinators.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
I've always thought that when like coaches put their sons
in like Buddy Beaheim or whatever, like all that that's
kind of weird to me.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
So hand worked out.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
How many years do you think has go?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
I'll say right now, at the end of this year,
I don't even know. It won't be like you want
him to go? Oh, good question, greatest coach of all time?
Do you want to fire your greatest? I never want
to fire him. But at the same time, like I'm
watching San Francisco and all these offenses Miami.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Good question, and this and that that's wanted him to go.
I never want him to go, But do you want
him to go? I think it's a change of tides
is coming. Yes, I want a change of tides.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Next three games, Raiders, they could win that. But the
Raiders did win last night and they don't like great,
but they look good enough to beat the Patriots. It
was a sloppy game. The Bills, I'll lose that. The
Dophense I'll lose that.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, we're done. Tank for Caleb, I'm all in on
the train, tank train.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Mac Jones done done, done, done done done.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
It's not all him, but he just doesn't.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Have it, you know, in his cam's not going, oh,
you don't have any weapons, like you're hearing word from
his his group.
Speaker 2 (16:17):
You know what Brady did for years with a bunch
of guys that nobody knew.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Come on, yeah, I hear you, and he did well.
Hold on. He did have tools at times. Gronk, Yeah,
was a tool. I would say that Randy Moss was
about as freaking tool as you can get. Awesome, so
he did. But yes, at times too, he did not
have Chris Hogan, you don't have to go to the
bad bad I think, Edelman, Oh stud yeah, so regardless,
(16:43):
I feel bad for you, and you should feel bad
for me because it sucks about it.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
We can feel bad for each other.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
That's all right. That's the tittle tattle, the tittle tattle,
Thank you, Kevin twenty five Whistles presented by Draft Kings
sports book and official sports betting partner of the NFL.
Download the Draft King app and used the code Bobby
sports to get in on the action. We went three
for four in the old parlay, but you missed one.
(17:07):
It's over. I did hit a nine game parlay though
nine Yeah I hit a nine er.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Yeah, you pulled an eddie, but you actually hit it.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
I did hit it nice. He didn't miss it by
one like I've done two. But nobody cares that they're
betting with. But you can follow me on the on
the DraftKings app. It's like Bobby and the Whistlers.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yeah, it's like a social one. Yeah, so you.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Can see all my bets and I'll go over the
bets in a second. But here we go. Georgia hit
Alabama money line, hit Arkansas plus eleven and a half.
Hit the Washington State UCLA game. And I thought, even
at the end, I thought Washington State was going to
do it. Because they ended up losing by eight point seventeen.
I thought they were going to score a touchdown at
the end and cover and they did not. And it
(17:45):
was sad and I'm sorry. That's all I can say,
but I'm not that sorry because they hit a nine
gamer and I had a decent weekend. You're good, but
the Arkansas loss. I'd give it all up for the
Arkansas loss. To have that as a win, I give
it all up.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
All your money smiles, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
All of it. If you want to take the twenty
four Boe partl like, you can check out Draft King
Sports Book. I don't have the new one for next
week right now because I'm still in morning. Take your time.
Thank you. New users use to code Bobby Sports when
you download the app twenty one and up in most
eligible states, but age varies by jurisdiction. Eligibility and deposit
restrictions apply. Gambling problem called one hundred gambler in New
York called eight seven seven eight hope and why or
(18:18):
text hope and why? You know? I was watching clips
of the Vikings and Chiefs and how on TikTok everybody
thinks the Vikings got cheated? Have you seen many of
the millions of tiktoks about how the Vikings got cheated?
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Twitter?
Speaker 1 (18:31):
But yeah, okay, do you feel like the Vikings got cheated?
Speaker 6 (18:34):
Cheated?
Speaker 2 (18:35):
There's no pass interference, but the helmet was a little skeptic.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Taking his helmet off. Yes, when the ref's like, put
your helmet on you and get a flag.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
And I was watching the game and out loud, I
was like, wait, his helmet's off or are you not
allowed to do that? And then they started talking about it,
and now it's everywhere.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
He did pull his helmet off, and you do see
the ref go put your helmet on him with all
a flag on you. Yeah. Now I can understand a
ref near the end of a game not wanting to
throw a flag. It's going to change into the game.
We're just going like, hey, it's like if two people
are fighting on the field, if you guys don't stop,
if tho AFA and then they stop fighting, Like I
get it. But it's so borderline, and so are some
of the other things. The pass interference, there were like
(19:06):
three things all at once that happened.
Speaker 2 (19:09):
There was like a hand into the face and.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
All that too, but they missed those every play. You know,
every place somebody's going hands with the face or holding
the ref's not seeing. You only got so many refs.
But I feel like where there's money, there's corruption. All
im saying there's corruption, But if you don't think at
some point a ref's gonna like know that the Chiefs
should probably win because they're the story. They're the story
(19:34):
because I'm a home that really did the story. Because
Taylor Swift, who wasn't there by the way right.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
And Kelsey almost went down.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
He lived a bit with he came back, but he
has a high ankle sprain. Now, yes, what they're saying
so but uh, yeah that that was tough if you're
a Vikings fan to see all that, but also stop
being a sore loser.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Yeah, the Chiefs are now getting that. And I'm not
saying this is that a Patriots fan just saying Patriot's
treatment right where you know.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
I call it Michael Jordan Tree, And it's funny you
call it Patriots true.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Yeah, things just go your way and then everyone looks
for a way to like pounce on you. Oh you
I thought you made it a good way. No, well
it's good because that means you're winning and you're relevant. Yes,
it's good as a Patriots fan or a Bulls fan,
got it. But if your team's playing them, or if
you don't want them to win, then it sucks.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
It sucked for Miami, which we mentioned earlier. All they
had to do is neeed the ball, and so then
let's go, Okay, they didn't need it. They run the
ball off the middle. Then all they got to do
is hold onto the ball. And then let's say he
didn't hold on the ball, then all you is recover
the ball. Okay, cool, didn't do that either. Then all
you gotta do is stop them for one play. And they
didn't do that either. What was the reason.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
And I saw a clip where the coach was talking
about why he did it, but I didn't.
Speaker 1 (20:38):
It makes sense to me why it was crystal ball
and it was a press conference that with the camera
was like below him. Is that what you saw too?
And he started talking some nonsense to and I just
flipped off. That's it, That's that's the same one.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
It was like, you know the momentum of that exactly,
and I'm like, I don't get any of this.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Did you see he did that in eighteen too? If
he does an eighteen with Oregon against Stanford.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
I do that on Madden, but I need extra yards
my running back. There you go, you're pat stat that's
not real. You know, lost a bunch of money on
Dallas you mentioned that you mentioned that I made some notes.
Do you want to go, let's do my betting for
the week if you want to hear some stats here.
I try to keep it open and honest with you guys.
(21:18):
Last weekend and I have a great week. I went
to the negatives for the first time overall. So here
we go in C double A this month, this excuse me.
This last weekend, I made twenty one bets in C
double A for two one hundred and forty seven dollars
winnings three thousand nine dollars plus eight sixty two. Okay,
let's go. It's a good Saturday. NFL bets wagered eighteen
(21:42):
hundred dollars winnings seventeen to twenty nine.
Speaker 3 (21:46):
And this Cowboys. I was up at parlay. I mean,
you were looking good with that parlay, huh yeah. And
then the Cowboys Cowys, Yeah, you go chasing, dude, you
tried try to chasing.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
I was base and I just thought that I really
thought they could do it. I wasn't for the fact
about money. I was chasing because I thought the would
cover fourteen I agree. Weekend summary. I made thirty nine bets.
I wager thirty nine hundred dollars. I made forty seven
thirty eight plus seven ninety one on the weekend Nice
and season summary so far total bets one forty three.
(22:17):
I've bet sixteen four hundred and forty one dollars. That crazy,
I'm plus seven twenty three. Wow, And Kevin goes through
my account. I'm not pat statting or affecting. I give
him my phone and just say, hand me the numbers.
Would you verify that, Kevin? Yes, Yeah, sixteen thousand to
make seven hundred. Hey, look, I'm happy at sixteen thousand.
(22:37):
That's not super negative. If it were sixteen thousand to
lose a thousand or so, I'd be like, that's fun.
I'm doing it for entertainment anyway. It's fun to do.
I'm not trying to do it to pay the bills.
But sixteen thousand, what's seven hundred? That was your investment? Interesting?
It's pretty good though. Yeah. Yeah, you're making money, yeah,
and having fun having fun doing it. The I bet
on Alabama to be Texas and bet them but minus
(23:02):
two and a half. And do you see the catch
where they got his knees down? This is like one
of the catches the end of the game. His knee
is down and the ball hits him in the hands
and his knee is down. If he catches it, the
play's over. He's down, but he bobbles it. So when
he bobbles, he lifts his knee up, then catches it
and his knees off the ground. Then he takes off.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
It was for A and M or Alabama.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
It is Alabama, I believe. Okay, I'm almost positive as
Alabama because I was on stage when it happened, and
I went and I do on YouTube TV. You can
do show me all the clips because it says you
can join live or show me all the big clips.
And I watch all the big clips, and I saw
the play and it's unbelievable because Alabama wasn't white, right, yeah, yeah, right, yeah,
(23:44):
I'm almost positive. Anyway, you should look at that clip
because its unbelievable, the big catch at the end of
the game. Had he caught it like he was supposed to,
his knee would have been down the plays over. But
because he bobbled it, he didn't have to stand up
to catch it, and because he did that, he took off.
You can look it up if you haven't seen it,
and I'm ninety eight percent sure that's what the play was.
But I did show me all the plays. Okay, so
what is that on YouTube? Like? So that YouTube TV
(24:05):
and it shows you all the big plays of the day.
So no, if you go to a game, it'll say
do you want to join live or do you want
to catch up by all the big plays? Ah? Yes,
I have seen that. Okay, it's like the second it's
pretty cool too.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
You don't even look at it. I don't think I've
ever realized what it actually says. I just always say
live if you want live, Yeah, without even thinking about it.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Well, sometimes I do watch all the big plays because
I don't want to look like a complete idiot. What
do you see?
Speaker 2 (24:25):
I'm pulling it up right now.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Tell me this is Alabama was wearing white. You're right
about this isn't wild. The ball's coming at him.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah, he's knee down, but he juggles it right now
and then catches it. Oh, and he's up and then
he runs and he's gone. Oh and he yeah, and
how late that was with a minu and a half left.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
Dang crazy like he.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Did it on purpose, but he didn't. I know.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
You can tell it's crazy. That's a crazy play. Uh
Dak's interceptions suck which one all? Then three hit three
hit three freaking interceptions. I think he too, were in
like a five minute span, but that one play just chunked.
First half.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
Yeah, he was fired up after the first touchdown too.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Yeah, you throw a touchdown at turpin like that's I mean,
he's what do you call it, he's spray and pray.
That's what he did on that one chunking and he
just chunked it and there's double coverage and he caught it.
I mean, great, good touchdown, But so what I'm saying
and what's crazy about it?
Speaker 1 (25:26):
Too?
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Like with the with the Niners, you know, you don't
see any receivers downfield. They got the camera on party
with the line whatever.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Party's good, by the way, I keep thinking parties. Okay,
it's pretty good. Got a great he has weapons, but
he's also good. He's awesome. He's awesome.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
And every time he threw the ball, you just knew
someone was gonna be wide open. And sure enough, every
time they made the white angle and you saw who
he was throwing to, they were wide open and they
were gonna get twenty plus yards or a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
It's just ridiculous, like with touch or without touch, or
like he was putting passes where they needed to be. Yeah,
it's scary that he's starting, that he's starting to.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Be good, really good. You guys only had fifty seven
rushing yards too, though. Yeah, you guys have to run
the ball. Not to sound too cliche here, but you.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Have to targets of bars. Always we had like forty
yards rushing. We can't do that. We have to run
the ball.
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah, you have to.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
I said it from the beginning. I didn't think Pollard
was the dude to be our number one running back.
I mean, he's so he's small. He's fast, but he's small.
We don't have a power back like McCaffrey that can
get seven yards every carrys deuce is too small.
Speaker 1 (26:27):
He's smaller than than Pollard. Man, I'm sorry, listen, it
sucks for me, It sucks for you, It sucks for you,
and it sucks for you. Texas lost to OU in
the Battle of the Games. That look at Mica that
I don't. I was just like, can they can they
both lose? Can we tie? Can nobody find enjoyment? I
have to be an ou fan a little bit, but
(26:48):
it had been cool if they won, and then the
arkets A would have won. But after the game, after
my game, I watched, so but at least o you
one I'm gonna give it does nothing for me, nothing
for me. So is is rough?
Speaker 7 (27:00):
C J.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Stroud though no interceptions? Yeah, longest ever attempts with no
interception as a rookie. So now a lot of those
attempts were incomplete passes, but it doesn't matter. Brady was
won sixty two, he was second all time, and Dak
was won seventy six, and so once he had won
seventy seven. C. Droud and the text has almost won
that freaking game.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
Yeah Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Yeah, uh so that was That's kind of a cool deal.
And then I'll mention Chess and our friend Chesson Hadley,
who was a golfer. Did he win? He did not win.
He finished thirty fifth and won thirty eight thousand dollars
in the PGA tournament. There we go. He was like
six or sevenths when I was talking to him this weekend.
Every time I talked to him, though, it seems like
he falls off like I think I might be. I
(27:42):
need to wait till after the tournament.
Speaker 2 (27:43):
It's like my text to you last weekend.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
It's terrible. Cost me the game, you know now, not
the text.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
Oh yeah, I don bother him.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Cost me that freaking game, all right. The NFL season

who was a free agent after the draft. He signed
with the Panthers his free agent again. But you know,
when it comes to SEC football, I mean, he was
in it last year. So we'll talk about the SEC
coming up in a few minutes. A couple of NFL notes.
(29:13):
Justin Jefferson gonna miss the next four games with the Vikings.
That's gonna hurt. That sucks. They're having a sucky year, yeah,
and that just makes it way worse. God dang. The
Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson will miss the next four games.
Because of a strained right hamstring that he suffered on
Sunday and the loss to the Chiefs, the Vikings plan
to place Jefferson on IR, which means he cannot come back.
(29:33):
I talked to four weeks, but they have a roster
spot they can build with somebody else. But he's out
for four weeks.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
None you come back if you're him and they lose
three out of the next four.
Speaker 1 (29:43):
Yeah, I mean you gotta play. Yeah, you do.
Speaker 2 (29:47):
He's in a contract year.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
That's why I asked, Yeah, I think you do. I
think you come back and you play, or at least
you try to act like you're trying to play. You'd
be like, oh, I'm really trying to get out there.
I just I went through warm ups. Tell me somebody
recording you going let me play? Man, just one video,
let me play. They won't let me play. You don't
ever see who he's talking to. It's just on him.
(30:09):
And it turns out there was nobody, and he's like, oh,
come on, And then you post that and you're like,
I'm gonna sit out this game too. So he's obviously
gonna get paid, right, But I understand it was like
last year we were talking about Baltimore and Lamar Jackson.
It's like contract year, he's hurt, does he come back.
It's a business more than it is anything else. I know,
we romanticize sports. One team. Yeah, God woman, it's a
(30:32):
business more than it is anything else, period. And if
you're that player, you want to make sure that you're
the health is you can be going. And he's a
guy that it doesn't matter if he if he had
torn as achilles, He's gonna get a Kevin Durant treatment.
I mean, he can still get a big back contract
because they know how good you will and can be.
So yeah, that sucks though for the Vikings. The Vikings
are not in a good place, nor will they be
this whole year now. Nah, they should just go and
(30:53):
give it a Kirk Cousins toole. Just try him off,
get something for him. A couple teams could use him.
But so far, Jeffers's got thirty six catches, five hundred
seventy yards and three touchdowns. And he was a lot
of people's first overall pick in the fantasy drift. Oh
he was Yep, that sucks. I lost Chubb my first
round pick, Mike lost Jefferson my eighth or ninth round pick.
A Chain likely to be out multiple weeks with an injury.
(31:16):
But you know what, I'm gonna say this, if he's
out the rest of the year, I'm okay, Hey, he
did you well. He came in and freaking one to
two games basically for me. Right. So, rookie running back
Davin ah Chan expected to be out multiple weeks with
a knee injury suffered in Sunday's victory over the Giants.
The injury is not expected to be season ending. The
Dolphins will continue to be gathering information. A Chane leads
the NFL with twelve yards per carry.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
It's insane.
Speaker 1 (31:38):
Has over four hundred and sixty yards and five touchdowns
in four games this year. But what's got him is
obviously his health, and that was the whole thing. Like
he's not that big. A Chan's not a big guy.
He can fly. You know. The Dolphins have like the
top five six bad plays of the years between Moster
and Hill and a Chain and Jaylaen Waddle's is not
(31:59):
even on one the fastest plays of the year, but
he's still one of the fastest guys in the NFL.
I mean, those are the three fastest players in the NFL.
It's crazy. And you got them all on one team.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
And tyreeksha that they have a practice squad guy that's
even faster than all Really.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Yeah is it? What's a guy's name from Jamaica? Oh Bolts. Yeah,
he's just sitting back. He just runs go around to
try to test it. Yeah, I'm ready to go defensive backs.
Last night we watched the Packers and the Raiders. I
say I watched. I watched about almost half of it.
It wasn't that good. I mean I have to kind
of pick and choose, and I get to pick eighty percent.
(32:32):
My wife does not bust my balls about football, but
I want to make sure that she doesn't feel like
I'm watching only football all the time, so that she
doesn't bust my balls about football. Smart So I want
to be proactive. And you know, if there are games
that I don't care as much, I will sacrifice them
just to spend time with her. But I have to
make sure she knows I'm sacrificing games. And I don't
want to be like I'm sacrificing games, but she'll be like, hey,
you have Benner. Yeah, I would love to have dinner
(32:53):
and there's a game on, but I don't even care
to watch it tonight. I'd know they just spend time
with you. I gotta let her know that she's saying
anything to that, like, no, you don't have to say that.
She knows what I'm doing. Yes, And so I only
watched like almost half of it, and some of the
one I was on the toilet. Because YouTube TV is awesome.
It's the greatest.
Speaker 2 (33:11):
They have the split screen, they have the split.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Screen, they have Sunday Ticket now, they have all your
local channels. It's the best.
Speaker 2 (33:18):
I was watching the Braves and when in football at
the same time. Awesome.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
Yes, that's technology guys.
Speaker 2 (33:23):
Awesome.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
Yeah, but no, but I know, but YouTube TV is.
It's amazing. So being a hater, but I'm just saying there,
they're gonna get there eventually. Like technology. Also Sunday ticket. Yeah,
I mean the Internet was crazy to technology in the world.
But if you don't have the right to Sunday ticket,
it sucks balls. Yeah. Now I'm just saying, like, you
can go to sports bar and watch the Braves game.
Speaker 2 (33:41):
I want to go to a sports I'm sitting on
my couch watching have I.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
Be yes, okay for you, that's awesome, dude. Jordan love
statline last night, sixteen to thirty, one hundred and eighty
two yards and he went full dak.
Speaker 3 (33:55):
Three receptions. Yeah, but dacks were desperate, dumb interceptions. Jordan
was trying to win the game all three times. DA
was trying to get out of the game.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
I think, Uh, so I watch a little bit of that,
And I did watch a little bit of the of
the old Chet versus Wimby. Oh yeah, do you watch
that a little bit? Probably like a quarter of it?
Did you buy the pass? The League Pass? I watched
it on like TikTok with somebody was showing on. Yeah.
I watched DFC like that the other night. Yeah. I hard.
And then when I would go off of it, I
would go back to it because the heart of it,
(34:25):
you can go to things you liked. Yeah, and I
watched it on that and so uh Wimby statlane last
night nineteen minutes, eight for thirteen from the field, two
for five from three to twenty points, five rebounds, two steals,
one block. Chet also played really well last night. So
it was just the two really tall guys chat also
with a thunder looks kind of ripped. He's still too skinny. Yeah,
he looks ripped, but he's also he's put on. I
(34:45):
tried to put on fifteen pounds. I don't even know
that somebody can google how much way to shed home
go put on last year. But he didn't play it
all because heard himself playing in that summer fun league
with Lebron Fun league. Yeah, good times. So I think
he's put on. If I were guess fifteen pounds. When
you find the answer to that, let me know.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Says he's two o seven right now. I don't know
what he put on. Said he was one to ninety five.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
Okay, dang, look at that ten twelve pounds. Who's got
eyeballs for dude's bodies? You do. Let's go see those muscles.
Thank you. They're thinking about putting flag football in the Olympics.
I like it me too. I think that'd be really cool,
especially if we can beat other countries, because when we
saw flag football at the Pro Bowl kind of sucked
because nobody was taking it seriously. If you're playing country
(35:30):
versus country for a gold medal, it's a bit gonna
get chippy and rugby ish, and it's gonna be awesome,
and we're gonna dominate everbody because nobody plays football, that's right.
It's gonna be us in basketball back in the day
until everybody got better than us of asking the dream team.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
And when my kids played flag football, like sometimes they
just tackle because they're just exactly I forget that they're
playing flag football.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
Yeah, that's gonna be awesome.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Who competes, Like, who plays, you know, for our country?
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Brady Brady comes back and plays.
Speaker 2 (35:58):
Because they're a professional flag football team out there.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Oh no, no, no, no, no no. And here's the dumbest
thing ever I know.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
But NFL guys will not want to get hurt.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
They're not going to get hurt. It's flag football.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
I would contract.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
I would say, you would have if not NFL guys,
you would have x NFL guys, yes, Joe Montana. No,
not old guys. You would have guys that are playing
in like the USFL, or those kind of that were
quarterbacks in the NFL for a minute, A great college players.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Vince Young again too old, Okay, I don't think both.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Keeping himself in shape, but I think it would be
super cool. But who plays, right Canada?
Speaker 3 (36:36):
Yeah, Canadian Football League, Poland, Germany, American Football Poland.
Speaker 1 (36:41):
Yeah, I mean it would be tough, we dominate everybody,
but it'll be awesome. But that would be fun to want.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Oh, Australia, I bet you they could probably figure it
out pretty quick with rugby.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
But the great thing is it would be something for
American football to us to grow because if it's in
the Olympics, you'd have a lot of people seeing it
for the first time or being like, oh, we should
pay more. It's a reason I ever watched soccer Olympics
or World Cup.
Speaker 2 (37:01):
The NFL will love it.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Yeah, they're trying to expand their footprints, so that that
would be cool. There should be two American teams though
NFC AFC okay East and West retire or not not
NFL two American teams, maybe one NFL one non NFL
of other player because you're not gonna get the best
NFL players, so you're gonna get some, but you're also
gonna get those guys I'm talking about that aren't in
(37:23):
the league anymore, or oh, I just got a bunch
of or it could be like NBA play or other
professional athletes that want to go play flight football. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Oh like those guys always say, oh when I was
in high school.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
That's true. A bunch of Uncle Rico's the Americans Super
Bowl odds. Here we go, we got new ones here. Yeah,
I bet those changed a lot. They did. Your number
one team at plus three fifty Sanranisco forty nine, Kan
City Chiefs a plus five to fifty.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
Oh really?
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Second? Yeah? What do you think was Dolphins? All right? Fourth,
I'll put the Dolphins above the Chiefs. You would, Yeah,
I wouldn't, just because if I got to pick one
of those two to win from the AFC, I'm taking
the Chiefs now because they've done it before. In two Well, Ahane's.
Speaker 3 (38:07):
Hurt, sure, yeah, yeah, I mean that's gonna hurt him.
But I think what three games?
Speaker 1 (38:12):
I think I can leave in Mahomes until he makes
me not. Man, Mahomes is walking weird.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
You guys see it like it just seems like his
body's gone through so much that his walk has even changed.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
He does everything where he talks weird.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Yeah, yeah, close for the huddle weird.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
He sounds like a hillbilly is like, hey, everybody get
over here. Yeah that's hilarious. Okay, So forty nine Ers, Chiefs, Eagles,
then Dolphins, then Bills, then the Lions and Cowboys at
plus fifteen line. Oh, that's pretty cool. Do we believe
in the Lions? Yes? Or no?
Speaker 2 (38:39):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (38:41):
Why do we not believe in the Lions? If you
had to have a reason not to believe in them?
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Because they haven't done it yet?
Speaker 1 (38:45):
Yeah, that's pretty much the only reason.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
I mean, they weren't even in the playoffs last year.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
Even even in golf. Like, he hasn't done it yet,
but he's like the greatest quarterback hits spread in like
the last ten years. And don't they blame it on
like the owner's front office, like the owners, Yeah, because
they don't run an organization very well. But Aiden Hutson's awesome.
The interception he made, yeah, from defensive vent boom catches
the ball in his hand, right, awesome. All right, I'm
(39:09):
gonna here's what I'm gonna do right now, because we
did my betting and I'm up on the year, like
eight hundred bucks in my account right now, I have
a couple thousand bucks. I'm gonna take some put it
back in my checking account. I love doing that. But
I'm also gonna put a future in all the numbers
say the same with what I've won lost, But if
it's sitting on my account, then I know then it's
(39:31):
right there to easy.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
So that's when you really want. When that money is
in your wallet, that's when you want. Yeah, because if
you keep it in the account, you haven't won yet. Yeah,
still in there to go back. Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
And I got a future on the Cowboys, and I
got a future on the Ravens that I've made during
the show. I'm gonna make another future bet now because
if I win a bunch, I try to go back
in just a little bit, just take a little nibble,
and it's not investing, but it's like fun vesting. Interesting.
So I'm gonna make a future beats with a lot
of them up with my winnings from this week, a
little bit of it and then who knows, maybe when.
Speaker 3 (40:01):
And you had Cowboys and who you said already Baltimore, Okay,
you can put the Niners in there.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
I don't let me see what the odds are. Not
the odds, but let me see what the money is though.
Let's see here. Okay, let me go to NFL Boom,
let me go to futures Niners Eagles? Do you take
on that?
Speaker 2 (40:20):
Niners?
Speaker 1 (40:21):
Okay? If San Franciscos three fifty, I made you go
with Man the Eagles though, or solid at plus eight
hundred no? Oh yes, oh yeah, that's that's great. So
if I do the.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
Eagles, that's to win the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
Yeah. So I'm gonna do the Eagles at three hundred
and fifty bucks to make one d fifty dollars, I'd
be amazing. That's my future now, okay, three fifty.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
I'm just gonna do a little something with my winnings
this week, No big.
Speaker 1 (40:49):
Deal done, and then I'm gonna take a thousand bucks
out of it and put it back on my account.
Nice and get yourself something nice with that. No, you
know what's a nice putting money back on my account?
It is?
Speaker 2 (41:00):
It is nice, freaking awesome.
Speaker 1 (41:02):
I haven't done that in a long time. So, okay,
feel pretty good about that. We are about to talk
to Bumper Pool. Bumper Pool is a three time second
team All SEC linebacker. He is Arkansas's all time leading
tackler with four hundred and forty one tackles. His name
is legally Bumper Pool. He changed his name from James
to Bumper when he was sixteen years old, and after
(41:22):
he finished at Arkansas, he went as a free agent
to the Carolina Panthers. But now he's a free agent
again and so here he is. He was a beast.
If anybody knows about the SEC, it is Bumper, Pool Bumper.
What's up, buddy on.
Speaker 6 (41:35):
The munch, Just hanging out in Charlotte. How are you doing? Well?
Speaker 1 (41:38):
Yeah? Why Charlotte?
Speaker 7 (41:39):
So I'm still here in Charlotte just because I was
with the Panthers and then just kind of want to
stay out here just in case something happened and I
got to try out later on the year or got
signed later on in the year.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
So after the draft, whenever the draft finishes and it's
time to pick, because you are a free agent, but
you basically we're set every tackling record. Like, you know,
did you feel a bit like one of the teams
was going to pick you up in the draft?
Speaker 7 (42:05):
Well, the only problem is is I had surgery after
the Old Miss game, So I knew going into it
that getting drafted was going to be tough. But obviously
in the back of my mind, I was like, I
put good tape out there where I thought I had
a chance, and I had visited with Charlotte, actually took
a visit out here, but I think their last draft
pick was in the fifth round. So with them, I
(42:26):
knew it was probably going to be like a free
agent situation.
Speaker 1 (42:29):
Whenever you got as a free agent, because we came
to camp a little bit art, a little group did.
And what what is it like when you're in adult
men there you have thirty five year old men. Now
you're in the locker room with where it was you
were the old guy, you know, and now all of
a sudden you're not anymore.
Speaker 7 (42:43):
Yeah, I mean most of these guys are talking about
their kids, and that's just a super you know, different adjustment.
And like these guys this is you know, they're either
feeding their family or you're feeding yours. So it really
gets down to that, like, you know, this is a
this is a big business and it's cutthroat and they
mean business.
Speaker 6 (43:00):
Like.
Speaker 7 (43:00):
The transition obviously was talent wise is one thing, but
the maturity level, like you kind of have to step
into that role of hey, I'm with a bunch of
you know, grown men.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
So you're in Charlotte. Still are you working out every
day in or five six days a week, whatever the
schedule is in case you get the call, And do
you feel like, because you've talked to people there, that
it might be the Carolina Panthers since you already have
a relationship with them. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (43:22):
So, I mean, I'm staying in shape, running every day,
just trying to make sure my cardio stays there, because
I think that's probably the hardest thing to get back.
But I had to work out with the Denver Broncos
a couple of weeks ago, so really it can be anywhere.
I just wanted to stay out here just because I knew,
you know, this staff and everyone and the best. But
it's the NFL and it's you.
Speaker 6 (43:43):
Know, really hard to make a roster.
Speaker 7 (43:46):
So I'm kind of being realistic with it, but at
the same time, just staying ready.
Speaker 1 (43:50):
What does your agent say to you, like, Hey, just
keep working, this is common or hey, keep working, We'll
see what happens.
Speaker 7 (43:57):
My agent is really good about just kind of keeping
things real. I mean, he's obviously like, hey, stay ready.
Anything can happen. People are going to get hurt throughout
the season.
Speaker 6 (44:06):
But you know, I'm also someone that is pretty realistic
with myself.
Speaker 7 (44:10):
I gave it my best shot earlier this year, and
I'm staying ready if anything happens, but at the same
time making sure that I'm continuing to reach out to
people and kind of figure out what my next step is.
Speaker 1 (44:20):
Are you thinking like football media? I mean, is that
the You're a good looking dude. I'm jealous, Like, you
got the chisel chin, you got the you know you,
the pedigree, the football everything that I don't have. You have.
So if if the playing or when the playing career finishes,
even if it's ten years from now, is this something
you'd like to do.
Speaker 6 (44:38):
I would.
Speaker 7 (44:38):
I think it's something that I've always loved to talk about,
and so if I had the opportunity to be able
to do media going forward, I would love it. But
you know, you know how the industry is, it's hard
to get into. So if I just kind of continue
to do some stuff here and there. I've been on
the SEC Network twice this season, and so it's been
great that they've been able to give me some opportunities.
Speaker 1 (44:59):
Well, then let's talk college football. Are you able to
keep up with it?
Speaker 6 (45:03):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (45:03):
Yeah, I mean Saturday mornings, I'm getting a big sweat
in kind of getting my game day workout in and
then I'm sitting on the couch watching football the.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
Entire Yeah, I get my sweat in by watching football
because I'm sweating so much because I'm just like, oh,
so let's start with this. I do want to talk
about the SEC where Georgia wins again, but they win
big and they really haven't played anybody up until Kentucky,
and a lot of people were doubting that Georgia could
be the team that wins the National Championship again. Is
Georgia versus everybody else again? Are they back at number
(45:31):
one in your eyes?
Speaker 6 (45:32):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (45:32):
I think they're the most complete college football team. I
think Michigan's probably the closest to them, But in the SEC.
Speaker 6 (45:39):
I think it's Georgia.
Speaker 7 (45:41):
I think that they're going to run the table in
the East and then they're probably gonna meet Alabama in
the Sea Championship.
Speaker 1 (45:46):
Well you think about Alabama because again, same type of situation. Obviously,
they lose the Texas earlier this year, but in the
SEC West SEC, they haven't lost any games to beat
All miss and then they put it to Texas A
and M when most well, a lot of people felt
like A and M was to win that game. So
how do you feel that Alabama's progress is coming along,
especially at the quarterback position.
Speaker 6 (46:06):
Yeah, I was kind kind of with the Aggies there.
Speaker 7 (46:09):
I thought they were going to take down Alabama, but
Alabama came back on the road had a great performance.
I mean, Jalen Milroe had what three hundred and twenty
something yards three touchdowns, so he kind of put the
I'm not a pastor, you know, conversation to bed and
I think that was the biggest, you know, doubt for Alabama.
But their defense has always been there, and I think
(46:31):
that them taking care of A and M already played
Old Miss, and the way LSU's defense is played, I
think Alabama has a pretty good shot to run the West.
Speaker 1 (46:39):
Isn't it weird the LSU's defense sucks because I'm used
to LSU having a really good defense, like always regardless,
and I understand there's a whole new regime there, but
it's weird to see LSU giving up thirty forty fifty
points in a game.
Speaker 7 (46:50):
Yeah, it's honestly, I think everyone's surprised. I mean, I
think even Brian Kelly might be.
Speaker 6 (46:55):
Surprised by that.
Speaker 7 (46:56):
This is a team that usually, like you said, has
the talent from Louisiana and they're really going on defense.
So that's their biggest, you know, biggest problem right now,
and that's something that's not gonna carry over well trying
to get to the SC Championship.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
So I've been down Death Valley a couple times, once
in the day, once at night, and the nighttime game
was really loud. As a player, and you're in these
stadiums and it can be Death Valley, it could be
for some be the Swamp, it could be more Memorial,
small stadium, but loud. What is the loudest stadium that
you've played into the point where you're like, holy crap,
I don't even know what's going on. But does it
(47:32):
really also affect you?
Speaker 6 (47:33):
It does affect the team.
Speaker 7 (47:35):
I mean, I think as a defensive player, it's almost
easier when you're playing on the road because it's quiet
and your communications easier, But your offense is having to
deal with some hectic, you know, environments like Sanford. We
played Georgia College game Day was there and it was
at eleven o'clock in the morning. The place was you know, nuts,
the Death Valley at night is a crazy place to
(47:58):
play at. So I mean those those stadiums, it affects
your offense because they can't communicate and not making checks.
You're getting you know, false starts and whatnot. But as
a defensive player, I almost think it's it's better because
everyone hates you and it's honestly quieter.
Speaker 1 (48:11):
I never thought about that, Eddie, the fact that defense
it has kind it is quiet because they want their
offense to actually hear the plays. Yeah, like that would
be pretty legit. I'd be like looking forward to going
to the loud stadiums. Do you ever feel like the villain?
Like you have to have the mindset of like you're
going in and you're the villain and all right, let's
go screw everybody.
Speaker 6 (48:29):
Oh yeah, you kind of.
Speaker 7 (48:29):
Put yourself in some headspaces before the game, just trying
to like kind of get a crazy, you know, I'm
a crazy villain mindset. And especially at Dead Valley, I
always took that game personally because growing up watching the
Arkansas lsu rivally, it was always.
Speaker 1 (48:42):
So big to me. Yeah, me too, And and it
almost didn't matter how good the teams were. It was
one of those where you kind of didn't know where
the game would end up. I mean, I remember when
Arkansas beat LSU and McFadden, you know, in the bat
in Houston, Nutt And we didn't have a great year
that year, but we beat them. It kind of kept
out of it like that. That is a good rivalry.
It's like the Texas OU game. Did you watch any
(49:03):
of that one?
Speaker 6 (49:04):
Oh? Yeah, that was an incredible rivalry.
Speaker 7 (49:05):
And I'm from the Dallas areas, so like, I know
a whole bunch of guys that went to Texas and
they were just crushed.
Speaker 1 (49:11):
So you're watching that game, and Texas was a favorite
going in I think six a six point favorite. My
family's all owe you people, which is annoying too, but
I'd rather than be O you people in Texas people,
if I'm being honest. And so I'm watching and I'm
rooting for OU over Texas. Texas looks great. The game's
wild the first half. It's back and forth, it's one
(49:31):
crazy play after the next. But Texas looked just consistently
good offensive defense until the end of the game. Obviously,
any chance Texas still wins the Big twelve and makes
it to the fourteen playoff, I.
Speaker 6 (49:42):
Definitely think they have a shot.
Speaker 7 (49:44):
The only problem about Texas is you knew they were
going to lose one game, and I didn't think it
was going to be versus OU. I thought this game
was that they're gonna brow all their chips in, they're
gonna win this one and maybe slip down the road.
Speaker 6 (49:54):
But it's always it's Texas.
Speaker 7 (49:56):
They're going to lose another one in my opinion, and
it's going to be tough for them to in especially
with four teams.
Speaker 1 (50:01):
Where was the easiest place to play on the road
where you went and you were like, man, those kind
of easy, they're quiet, they're like super friendly, and they're
kind of rooting for me.
Speaker 6 (50:10):
I mean Missouri.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
That's funny. Yeah, I felt that too, because sometimes on
the hill is empty up there and there's nobody. But yeah,
that's a good one. Do you have a question for.
Speaker 3 (50:21):
Yeah, yeah, Bumper. Are you able to be a fan
like especially now like you're you know, you you going
to the NFL, You're looking for teams, like can you
just openly say like, I'm a Cowboys fan, but I'll
play for the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (50:33):
Got question?
Speaker 7 (50:35):
Oh yeah, I'm a I'm a Cowboys fan at heart.
Speaker 6 (50:38):
So that's never gonna change.
Speaker 7 (50:40):
And but yeah, whenever you're trying to make a team whatever,
you kind of just don't think about it because it's
just like I need to try to make the team,
you know, it's not necessarily much about how that team does,
so like there's just levels to it. I'm sure if
I ever made a team and got to actually play
for him for a while, it would change, But as
of now, YE still still Cowboys fan.
Speaker 1 (50:59):
You dealt with some injuries you're final season. I mean
you deal with injuries your whole career, obviously just playing
the position that you played, but you talked about you
having to have surgery and it probably affected your draft stock.
So the difference between playing hurd and injured and is
it is it always a fine line too as a
player and how much you actually want to let people
know so they don't pull you out.
Speaker 7 (51:17):
Yeah, I think that, especially nowadays, you know you can
either leave your legacy in college or take a chance,
you know, not play through an injury and try to
make it into pros. But my thing was I knew
my chances were in the NFL starting out, so I
was going to give everything I had for my college team.
Because you know, if you if you give a fan
base everything you have, like they'll remember it, especially when
(51:38):
you've done playing. But I think some of the guys,
like the top talents that know they're going in the
first round, it makes sense if they get hurt to.
Speaker 6 (51:44):
Not play through it.
Speaker 7 (51:45):
But for guys that are just grinders, like, go ahead
and play as hard you can for a fan base
and they'll take care of you.
Speaker 1 (51:51):
What was it like because you got to be there
in the early days of the NIL where it's new
to everybody. Now there's a little more known about it
and how to do it, and there's you know, folks
they've brought in to make sure that they're running away
that is compliance based. But I mean it just starts.
And how quickly when they go, okay, we now can
have ANIL. Did you start getting calls going, hey, man,
can I give you some money to do stuff?
Speaker 6 (52:12):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (52:12):
I mean, honestly, it was the wild West when I
first started, and it wasn't necessarily people just call.
Speaker 6 (52:17):
Me up saying like, hey, let me give you money.
Like me and my dad.
Speaker 7 (52:20):
He had a bunch of connections, and so we kind
of went out and kind of created a model just
be like, hey, let's go find five different industries, people
that you're close with and just try to get your
you know, your head and the door and are foot
in the door and try to meet these people. So
whenever you're done playing, not only did you kind of
make some money you know in the nil world, but
then you have an opportunity now where your connections are
(52:42):
tight with them whenever you're trying to find a job
or whatnot.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
What was like the best guy making don't say who
it is, I don't want you to throw any names out,
but what was the best guy making? And was there
a huge difference in like he's showing up on our
rolls Royce versus you know somebody who's not getting any
nil money at all.
Speaker 6 (52:57):
I mean you're talking about like in the country.
Speaker 1 (52:59):
How much like around either that you knew or that
was on the team.
Speaker 7 (53:02):
Yeah, I mean here's guys that were probably making you know,
mid high you know, six figures. But the time, it
was like there wasn't enough time to spend the money
because it just was so new, you know, there wasn't
guys shown up and like I said, a Roy's Royce.
But I think there's been some car deals where guys
are getting some uh some nice cars and whatnot.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
There's always time to spend money. There's always easy Yeah. Yeah,
I get online, I get on the ass, spend it
all there. I want to talk about it.
Speaker 6 (53:28):
They keep you pretty busy now in college.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
I want to talk about social media for a second.
If a good game or a bad game, obviously same
with me here if it's a good show or a
bad show. People like to say stuff and have opinions
and they don't know what the crap they're talking about
most of the time. So how hard is it after
a game that didn't go your way to look at
social media or did you have kind of boundaries that
you put on yourself that you followed.
Speaker 7 (53:48):
I mean, you can put the boundaries out there, but
I think you're eventually going to try to check it out.
Speaker 6 (53:52):
Just human nature.
Speaker 7 (53:54):
But I mean someone said said like as saying it
was like, why would you listen to someone's criticism if
you wouldn't take their advice? And I think that one,
to me was the biggest thing. Like, you know, hog
Fan ninety five, their their comments on my performance is
not going to change anything because I wouldn't you go
to them and say how do you play linebacker? You know,
they're just you kind of have to take it all
(54:15):
with the grain of salt and kind of look at
it through a different lens if you would. But yeah,
nowadays the way that social media is, people are cruel.
But as a player, you kind of just have to
know who you are. And I think if you if
you work hard.
Speaker 6 (54:27):
Enough, then it won't affect you.
Speaker 7 (54:28):
But if you're one of those guys that kind of
lives for social media, then I think it affects you
more because you're kind of putting your foundation in the
wrong wrong rock.
Speaker 1 (54:37):
I guess I thought when I was Hog fan ninety five,
I would say nice things to you. I didn't realize
I was maybe not saying that the night. Oh man,
So let's let's be very selfish then for a second
and talk about Arkansas. What what's what's happening? Man?
Speaker 7 (54:48):
I just think it's one of those seasons where there's
not a ton of guys. Obviously kJ is back, but
like you know, there's not a lot of older leadership.
And I think when you have coaching or whatever, you
need guys that have been through the past, like the
two intend seasons to be like, hey, we've been here,
we know how horrible it is, Like you have to
give that extra step so you don't get back there.
(55:11):
We kind of had a couple winning seasons, so I
think that it can, you know, not get complacent, but
in a way that you can almost forget how bad
losing feels.
Speaker 1 (55:20):
It sucks. I'm gonna tell you how it feels. I'm
not even the team. It sucks. I think about it
all the time. I feel like I'm the one losing
the games. It makes me. I hate it, like it
makes me sad. It's all I have bumper. Well that's
not true, but it feels like it's all I have bumper.
It's like I just float or sink with the team.
(55:41):
And this has been a really difficult year because we
had extremely high expectations, at least I did. And I'm
not mister expectation, but I felt like this year, this
is our year. But whatever, Man, if I start crying,
is that embarrassing Eddie? Right now? If I start Oh man,
you be you bumper dude. Congratus relations on. You know,
(56:02):
such a great career, and I hope you catch on somewhere.
And if you don't catch on, anywhere. Don't think you
ain't getting a call for me and going let's do something.
Let's get it going. You're gonna start a team. No,
no team, no, no, no, no, we're gonna bring No
I'm not playing ball. No no, no, no no. I
think you have the wrong idea we're gonna have. We're
gonna we're gonna do some media, you know some got it.
We gotta get Bumper in here. He's done at all. Man,
Bumper was like the hero of the state for years
(56:26):
and so it just such a good influence on other
teammates and such a leader. Bumper. We appreciate your talk today, buddy,
and stay healthy and hopefully I'll talk to you soon.
Speaker 6 (56:34):
Yeah, thanks for having me there.
Speaker 1 (56:35):
He is Bumper pool. Everybody we have the broken promises bucket.
It's funny name there, it is, right? And so how much?
How how much money's in there now?
Speaker 2 (56:46):
Well read so it was all of his money?
Speaker 1 (56:47):
I need cash.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
We got thirty bucks in here right now?
Speaker 1 (56:50):
What ten's mine?
Speaker 2 (56:51):
Twenty mine?
Speaker 1 (56:52):
Ed? You haven't lost?
Speaker 3 (56:53):
Well lost one? I owe ten dollars. I really just
don't cash. I would pay it an art get cash,
I'll go to them.
Speaker 1 (57:00):
So how much do you go? Ten buck's forty three?
How much you thirty? So there's seventy dollars in it. Now.
I was thinking about what we should do with the
money after we do this Broken Promises week. I'm interesting
to hear this. Yeah, me too, I'm interesting too, I'm
interested to hear this. So the broken Promises bucket. I
promised Arkansas would cover plus eleven. They did, so I
put no money in the broken Promises bucket. Good for you, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (57:21):
I had Bengals minus two and a half covered easily
one by fourteen.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
No broken promises, No broken promises, Keep your money, Eddie.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
I had Kansas City minus four and a half. I
mean to me, that was a no brainer. I promised
it and to hit it boom read.
Speaker 4 (57:33):
I'm pretty sure I had Lsu and Miszoo and I
had Miszoo minus.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
Five plus five five?
Speaker 4 (57:39):
Yeah, plus five?
Speaker 1 (57:40):
Actually, yeah, do you even know what you're betting? Are
you just pointing it?
Speaker 6 (57:43):
So?
Speaker 1 (57:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (57:44):
Plus five means that they have to.
Speaker 1 (57:46):
No, no, I know, but I didn't know if you knew. Yeah,
they after what.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
They have to score more than five point or win
by more than five points.
Speaker 2 (57:53):
Uh huh, or they have to win.
Speaker 4 (57:56):
They know they have to lose buy less than five points, right,
or they.
Speaker 1 (58:01):
Can at the end of the game when the score
is there, boom, and you give them plus five if
they win, then then they win. I'll look at that.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
That makes it way. You're looking good for a while, Missouri.
Speaker 1 (58:14):
So you lost, Yeah, he lost, So now he's got
to go forty in.
Speaker 2 (58:18):
He's thirty.
Speaker 1 (58:18):
Got it? Have you lost every time?
Speaker 4 (58:21):
I've won one?
Speaker 1 (58:22):
So we'll do another promise coming out. Good job, guys,
the promise crew. We promised. Uh So here's what we're
gonna do. All the money at the end of the year.
That's in the broken Promises bucket. Before the Super Bowl.
We'll pick a week, we'll determine a week, and then
we'll each go around and do like a three person
draft of the games we want to draft, like the
actual Like let's say it's Carolina plus three. I'm taking
(58:44):
Carolina plus three none, you guys can take it, and
then who remember scores? The best of the three picks
that they drafted gets all the money. So a game
on top of a game, because this already is a game. Yeah,
but how you give away the money? So but the
money is won by whomever has the best, and.
Speaker 2 (59:01):
That like that's the very end.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
Yeah, that's like the best that week, three or four
games and you'd be like, well, different people put different money,
and yeah, that's the person who stuck the most, has
the worst, could actually lose the most. Okay.
Speaker 2 (59:12):
So like if Reid were to win, if we play
that right now, read one, it'd be okay, he invested
the most.
Speaker 1 (59:17):
We'd picked three games. This week, we go around the room,
we'd spend it, spend the bottle and make out and
then the bottle lands on. You go first, Eddie. You'll
be like, Okay, this week I'm gonna go Alabama plus
eighteen Alabama minas eighteen versus Arkansas. So you get that.
I can't take that. I can tak Arkansas plus eighteen
versus Alabama, but I can't take your bed. And it
can be college and proy, but we may do five,
(59:38):
give it, give us a little room there.
Speaker 2 (59:40):
So it has to be well towards the end of
the college season. Then if we want the full slate
of games.
Speaker 1 (59:44):
Yeah, we can probably do it like the first week
of December something like that, and the winner gets all the money.
Exciting and if there's a tie, we could do it
even our bowl season. But if there's a tie, we
will not split it. We'll pick another sudden death game.
Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Spin the bottle, Yes, make out, make that chick, whoever
was the best makeout?
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Or I'll be the judge. You both make out with me.
I'll be the judge made out the best out? Uh, quickly,
give me your one storyline from over the sports weekend? Eddie,
you go first, I mean, what's this? What's sports Weekend?
Speaker 6 (01:00:18):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:00:18):
What? Like? Dude?
Speaker 3 (01:00:19):
Honestly, the first time ever, I told you guys, I
turned the Cowboys game off because I didn't finish it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:25):
Who wanted to watch the end of that game?
Speaker 3 (01:00:26):
And then and then Monday night, I really like didn't
have any appetite to watch that game at all. It
started and I was still like in the kitchen cooking
and my boys, we're.
Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Gonna watch the game. I'm like, I'm really not in
the mood.
Speaker 3 (01:00:39):
But once like I sat down to watch a second
of it, I got back into it.
Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
So it's it's all temporary. Are you excited about this week?
Speaker 4 (01:00:46):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
Chargers on Monday? I think we can handle that. You
know what spread is that one? I don't. It's week away, Okay, Kevin,
give me.
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Yours mine was we talked about a little bit, but
USC and just how they were struggling with you of
a a little bit. Now their schedule gets a little
bit tougher, a lot more tougher last five six weeks
of this season, so I want to see what they have.
They play Notre Dame. Notre Dame comes off a bad
loss against not Bad, but you know, it's a bad loss,
kind of a bad loss in Louisville. That's two in
the year, so they're gonna be hungry at home in
South Bend. So I want to see what USC does
(01:01:13):
this week.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
Read.
Speaker 4 (01:01:18):
I don't have one, but I do think it's funny
that since Taylor Swift didn't go to the last Chiefs game,
that everybody was freaking out.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
What do you mean that's the story though? Yeah, that's okay.
You don't have to have like a super sports about it.
Speaker 4 (01:01:32):
Okay, yeah, cool, you just be you, buddy, Okay, cool,
I'll just be me. So basically, yeah, just that the
fact that she wasn't therapy. I saw a lot of
people were saying that she like wasn't supporting the team. Now,
or that something was going on in between.
Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
A couple of storylines that were interesting to me. With that,
the mom was on the Today Show talking about kind
of howse Kelsey's mom how she'd never met Taylor before
the time of the Box and then they asked her
like what was like, how did all that happen? And
she said, I can't really talk about that, and so
that's crazy. So to me, that's even more of like
(01:02:09):
this is so fishy. Mom had never met Taylor, movies
coming out, her movie's coming out. She doesn't really know
what to talk.
Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
About with all of this, all these commercials now.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
Taylor's brilliant.
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
And also on top of that, what Travis had a
birthday last week and she went there. People were there
at the restaurant, who saw him in a couple of
bud celebrating his birthday. She wasn't there for his birthday.
That's weird. Maybe she was there for another part though.
You know, there's a lot of things that people have
to do, can't get places to and fro.
Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
If you're dating someone, you're gonna make their birthday maybe
unless you're Taylor and you're so busy. Listen. I also
feel like there's probably something. But regardless, I enjoy it
because they've either they're doing their thing and they are
dating and people are like creating all these conspiracy theories
and that's hilarious to me. Or they're not dating and
everybody believes they are, and that's hilarious to me. All funny.
This system is just being played regardless, I love it.
(01:03:00):
With me. It just is. I don't even like sports anymore,
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (01:03:07):
That's what I'm saying, dude, I'm not in the mood.
Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
It's crazy now and I'm not That's not even gonna
be my line. It's just that I hate it. I
hate I was having a bad season drives me crazy.
Mine is actually the club that I'm the golf club
that I joined three years or so ago. It's been
shut down for over a year and it opens back
up in a week. That's excited. They rebuilt the whole thing.
And so I've been doing nothing. I've been just like
(01:03:32):
mooching golf off Gator and I don't you can pay
it back now and I don't get to play that well.
They don't make me pay there. I just go play
with them. They don't make me pay that's cool. It's
just crazy. I'll be like, yeah, I'd be like, hey,
let me pay you. He's like, no, they don't make
you pay because they're just they think it's cool you
come and play here. And I was like, I also
think it's cool I come and play here. That we
both went, we agree. So I'm excited about that because
(01:03:54):
then I can play a little bit more. But now
it's getting cold. But let's give it around, Let's give
it a run. I'm excited about it. And that's it. Okay,
So as we conclude today's show, thanks to Bumper Pool
for coming on. Thank you all. We had a really
bad overall sports week for all of us. Texas lost
and that's on Mike. Yeah, I felt rage for the
first time, like towards another fan base. Exactly is I
(01:04:15):
watched it with a bunch of like Oklahoma.
Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Fans just like I just feel it in my soul.
Speaker 1 (01:04:21):
Patriots lost, and that's on you, Kevin. I know, Cowboys loss,
that's on you, Eddie. That was brutal man. Arkansas lost again,
that's on me. And Taylor Swift didn't show up and
that's on Reed. You guys follow us at twenty five whistles.
