Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's a podcast. Come twenty five wists tucking basketball and
they were a whistle So yeahs supid, But what did'd
you expect? It's a podcast. Come twenty five whistles, twenty wine.
We've called this special edition of twenty five Whistles because

(00:22):
the Celtics lost last night.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
That's that's why I feel like you wanted to do
this honestly, well, only because you said you weren't worried.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
That's the only reason I knew.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I was watching that game. I was like, dang it,
You're like.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
I ain't worried. I ain't worried. So this will not
be a long episode, but welcome follow us at twenty
five whistles. Let's start with that game. And b was
out for the whole game. I didn't watch it because
I did not think it was going to be a
game either, But I just would never when my team's
playing God is nothing, Never would I do that. But
George the whole thing. Yes, Okay, beginning then and Ba's out,

(00:57):
Harden went off, scored forty five, a playoff high for him.
I did see the last second shot. I went back
and watched some clips, but I just I guess I
learned of their lost Celtics because they kept showing the
Harden clip on every social media account that I follow.
They were like twelve seconds left to be fair. When
he nailed it, he was up down one right, yeah,
step back, boom deep one. So I guess the Celtics

(01:19):
had a chance at the end.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
Yeah, and they blew it.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
So tell me about that, because that wasn't showed in
the clip. It was just hardeness there.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, so they still had eight seconds ago they inbound
on the ball. Marcus Smart got it, he drove, went
down the middle, Tatum was right there ready for the rebounds,
and then he tried to hand it off to Tatum.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
It was just I didn't know that's what that was.
That's all that played. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Their whole sequence in the last three minutes was got awful.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Hard and had thirty nine minutes forty five points, seventeen
of thirty from the field. Jeez. Then he shot over
fifty percent and he did shoot fifty percent from three
point line, had six assists too. Even with forty five points,
Harden went off and then I saw after the game
everybody was celebrating and Hard's like ah and go locker
room we don't celebrate after that's one game and I

(02:00):
was like, who is this James Harden?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I know he was in Vegas over the weekend. Two
and then he comes back and does.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
That Tyers Maxie had twenty six points, Melton had seventeen
to help Harden. Uh Key plays down the stretch, Hardens
deep through with eight seconds left, Max's and one layup
with a minute and a half left. Do you recall
that one?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah, it was called one ref called it a charge,
one called it a block. That went reviewed it and
it ended up being a block.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I saw the Brody turnover two.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Oh that was the dagger Well, I mean obviously the
hard and three, but that was just like, what are
we doing?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yeah, because seat clock was down, they'd moved they'd moved
it a little bit, and he just kind of like,
I don't know, it looked like a weird, weird pass
and went over Tatum's head. Right.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
It wasn't even I think he thought Tatum was still there. Yeah,
he just threw it back there blindly, and Tatum would
hadn't moved at that point.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
The seventy six ers one on a ten to four run.
The last two forty four of the game. You could
tell I didn't watch it, and I watched it all
on clips because all mine's out of order in my head.
But I couldn't believe it, and I was like, we
got to get on and talk about this. Yeah, Kevin
feels after oh one, after we lost, I was like, no, indeed,
it's a good thing. We're not doing a pod. Well,
are you sad after that? Or yeah, that's only one game?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
No, for sure, I'm sad because you have to have
that game with them beat out and the way that
they played down the stretch Missoula. I talked about this
a little last week. He scares me, the way that
he draws some stuff up, especially in crunch time and doctors.
Rivers isn't even that great a coach, but he out
coaching big time.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
That was in Boston, right, So that sucks too because
you've now lost home court advantage. Not that it always
goes at but as of right now, they've lost home
court advantage. Yeah. So they play another one in Boston. Yeah,
and then they go to Philly? Is that right? Is
that the order? It was?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Sad?

Speaker 1 (03:36):
It was said the Nuggets beat Sons, Chris Paul got hurt.
I saw him. Chris Paul always been turning the playoffs
like that's what he's known for. Yeah, two things, One
not winning a champion, maybe the best player to not
win a championship, and then two always getting hurt in
the playoffs and also being age fifty three, that too, Yeah,
but still legit as a point guard. But you Algays

(03:59):
put up thirty nine points, had sixteen rebounds, played forty
one minutes. Nuggets up two to oh over the Suns.
It's going to be tough now for the Suns. I
don't know if Paul is coming back for Game three
or not, but they don't have a point guard. Katie
played forty four minutes, score twenty four points, grab eight rebounds,
but again that number is forty four minutes. Booker played
forty five minutes. Chris Paul left the game in the third,
but left growing tightness. The Nuggets also shot sixteen more

(04:20):
free throws in the Suns and outscored them the paint
by eighteen. The Suns kept a close all game, but
Denver pulled away in the fourth. Game three Friday in Phoenix. Wow,
they have a bit of time here, m HM Tuesday
with they have three days off that.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Helps Chris right, maybe, yeah, I would think.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
It until he finds his next injury, until he gets
hurt again. Ohio has halted betting on Alabama baseball after
suspicious activity. Ohio gambling regulators on Monday instructed the state's
licensed sportsbooks to betting on college baseball games involving Alabama
after suspicious wagering activity was detected on the Crimson Tides
game against top ranked LSU on Friday, Ohio Casino Control

(04:58):
Commission Executive Matthew Schuler issued a statement that said he
prohibits the acceptance of any wagers on University Avelopment baseball,
effective immediately. Now, this is a state by state thing
though right like, there's not a all states that allow
gambling have to stop. It's state by state, which is
why it's not federal because federally it isn't legal to
gamble because there are a lot of states that still

(05:19):
don't have legalized sports gambling. So there was a report
from an independent monitor. On Friday, a Las Vegas based
firm that monitors the betting markets issued an alert to
its sportsbook clients regarding suspicious wagering activity involving the Alabama
LSU game. There is no national gaming regulator. LSU led

(05:39):
Alabama eight to one after seven innings and held off
a late rally with the Crimson Tide for an eight
six victory. I wonder what the bet was though Alabama
plays Vanderbilt on Thursday. Was. I don't know what the
spread was. I don't know what the run I mean
runs they were given. I'm assuming LSU was a favorite here.
I just wish it would also tell us what the
bet was, not just as they shut it and I'm like,

(06:00):
why what? How much teasing us? Like what was the bet?
Did it work? And how much did they bet? I
didn't know all that. Like I'm not big gossip guy,
but that's kind of gossip. I want right there. I
want to know how much the bet was, because it
had to be one hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Yeah, enough to wave a red flag for sure. Yeah,
it's got to be a lot and something odd.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Because otherwise, if you're just betting the line and you
bet one hundred thousand bucks, that ain't gonna do anything
except somebody's gonna go, oh, that's a rich person betting. Now.
I'm think it's gonna be like half million dollars. What
were they betting? That would be so coold to know?
So that's what's up. But mostly just wanted to come
on and talk about Celtics. I figured there's a couple
of games tonight.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
Huh yeah, Heat Nicks, Lakers Warriors.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Man that Lakers Warriors series is that's super cool. But
again it's like I use this analogy a lot, Iron
Man versus Captain America, where I like both of them,
and whomever wins that I don't know though, because if
Denver wins the series, Denver, nobody's believed in them all year.
They quietly have just simply won Denver or the Lakers

(07:10):
Denver for the Suns, And I'm talking about the whole thing, Okay,
Like if Denver beats the Suns, which I expect them
to do now because they're up to to oh not
because I think I still think the Suns could win it,
I'm not even declaring, but I said yesterday if they
go down to it's gonna be real hard, especially with
Chris Paul Hurt all the minutes that Booker, I mean,
Booker's gonna have to play point guard some or at
least bring it down and play point Yeah, he's just

(07:31):
what he's gonna have to do, run the offense. So
but if it's Denver versus LA or Golden State, same thing.
It's like, whomever wins that one you want to unless
you're a Celtics fan, I'd like to see whomever from
the West win it. I think.

Speaker 2 (07:45):
I mean, Denver looks the best.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
If Golden State wins it again, that's awesome, Steph gets
another ring. If a Lakers win it, that's awesome because
I thought the Lakers could do it. If Denver wins it,
I love it because it's a team that hasn't been
in the mix, smallish market when it comes to the NBA,
and they deserved it. They had a wonderful season over
on the East. The Celtics obviously they didn't win it

(08:08):
last year, but they made it to the finals. A
bit unexpected for them to make it that far. The Sixers.
That's an interesting dynamic because it's Harden. I mean, he
hasn't won a title, embeied. He doesn't want a title,
just the process. Yeah, been along process. Yeah. So from

(08:30):
the East, there's that Both of those teams you have
there's a reason to root for them. There's Miami who
came out of the playing game. There are just so
many good guys. There aren't enough bad guys. Can we
put Dylan Brooks on one of these teams? I don't
even care which one. Just take Dylan Brooks and put
them on the team. So we have to make a
root against he's a free agent. And even the Knicks,
they've been so bad for so long. If they win

(08:53):
that series with Brunson, who in Dallas was a distant
number two, they don't want to pay him. So he
goes to New York and is, you know, top ten
player in the league this year. All these teams are
good guys. The only bad guy team would be the Suns,
I guess, but I like Kde But we're trying to

(09:13):
force a villain here. If Jannis was still in and
the Bucks, they'd be the bad guy, even though Joannis
is very likable because Jannis is the best player in
the league. And the Bucks have won one and they
were the one seed.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah they were the top dog.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
But there's no villain. And the one seed over in
the West is Denver and that's super cool because Denver
never wins. Crap, It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Yeah, it's gotta be Lebron too, though at the same time, because.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
You really like le Lebron in a villain and the
Lakers have sucked all year. Lebron ain't a villain. Yeah,
maybe you're right. Some people do see the Lakers, but
the Lakers have never been a threat. They can't be
the villain team. Do you feel like the villain team?

Speaker 2 (09:54):
No, I still don't. I wouldn't be confident in them. Yeah, exactly,
But it's still Lebron and you're still watching to see
him either win or lose.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
That's greatness. We rarely get to see pure greatness.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
We'll see it with Stephane.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Yeah, that's true, both of them. Yeah. Anyway, this is
your basketball audition. This is not a long show, and
that's how we'll do this thing for now. One for
the most part, unless we get a good interview, is
that if there's something that happens we would want to
talk about it, maybe only fifteen minutes. How long is it, Mike?
This is ten minutes. There we go. It's ten minutes
of pure goodness right here. NBA playoff basketball and Alabama betting.

(10:25):
If anybody knows what happened there, message me. I would
love to know that. Have you ever been to the
College World Series? No, baseball, No, it's pretty awesome. It's
always in Omaha.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Yeah, that would be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I've been a couple of times. Yeah, pretty cool. And
Omaha is like they're perfect for it because they're ready
for it. They know what's about to hit them. They
thrive in it. It is theirs. They embrace it. It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
That would be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Yeah, it's a lot of fun. All Right, that's what's up.
We're good. We're good.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
But yes, may blow the whistle ten minutes go. I
want to thought. Oh, I want the Lakers to win,
but if they don't, I'm okay with that. And then
if it's Golden State versus Denver, I want Golden State
to win, but if they don't, I'm okay with that.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Yeah, that would be a fun one.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
And then if it's Denver versus whomever, I want Denver
to win.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Do you want other than the Lakers in the West,
then you want Denver.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
That's an interesting question. I'd probably go Lakers Warriors, Oh, Denver, Miami.
This is a want. This is not my favorite team,
but who I'd want to see because that would be
an awesome A playing team wins at all, that then

(11:41):
makes those games that much more important because Eybod looks
at the playing games now like it's a bull crap.
Who cares? They sucked all year and now they're gonnaet
the plaofs. They're going to lose a draft position. But
if Miami can do it, or even if they just
win the series against the Knicks, like that is a
big step for that playing game. So I think for
that reason, I like that story that's probably four sons

(12:07):
five because I think if Durank can win one without Steph,
how many of the Durant one were they all with Steph?

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yeah, right three Steph's won a couple with that Durant two. Yeah,
because Steph has four Yeah, then I would go the
Sons at five, Miami at four, Sons at five, Knicks
at six. Dang, this is an anti Celtics podcast. Celtics

(12:37):
at seven, Okay, here we go, and I'm gonna go
with Philly at eight.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
That's my root and it's nothing. It's the Celtics. I
think Tatum's awesome. Yeah. I actually like a lot of
Celtics players, and I even like their coaching staff. I
like the new guy who kind of gets thrust in
there because you know, you know email. I like that.
I like that I'm rooting for him. I like the man,
I like the executives there. So that's what's up. All right,

(13:09):
we're done, here's the whistle. We're out. We'll see you guys.
I don't know, we'll see when we see if I already.
