Postgame in Philadelphia after the Sixers and the Hawks, and
a really cool gesture from the Sixers just now in
front of their team bench, the roster whether they played
tonight or not, signing their jerseys and passing them off

(02:19):
to Sixers season ticket members taking selfie's. Jared McCain still
out there, Tyrese Maxey just now went back to the
locker room. McCain is taking a number of photos with
fans after he was part of the NBC Sports Philadelphia
broadcast tonight. This is the Parks Casino postgame show. I'm

(02:39):
Matt Murphy. After a one twenty four to one ten
Hawks victory in Philadelphia to improve the thirty nine and
forty two in the second to last game of the
NBA season four, We're all thirty teams tonight the Sixers.
After snapping the long losing streak on Wednesday in DC,
they pick up their fifty seven loss of the year,
twenty four and fifty seven. The season finale will also

(03:00):
be played here on Sunday afternoon against the Chicago Bulls
at one pm Eastern. Thirty six points and eleven assists
for Trey Young of the Hawks twenty three in the
second half. Moe Gay of the Hawks had all ten
of his points after halftime and a career high eighteen rebounds,

(03:23):
with thirteen of those coming in the second half, and
the Sixers were up sixty six sixty at halftime. We
await Sixers coach Nick Nurse's postgame remarks, but I am
joined by Tom McGinnis, and there are a number of
individual performances from this Sixers game tonight that we can

(03:45):
talk about, because they had an eight man rotate. But
we'll do that after we hear from the coach, who
I think is coming up right now false alarm, will
get to coach, but Tom before any individual players. Just
your overall thoughts.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Well, you talk about the individual performances. Badley Butler played well,
Adem had another good game, Castleton had a good game.
And you know, like I used the phrase like had
them on the rope. It was still early in the game.
But the Sixers had a really good first half. And
you know, I would imagine like Trey Young or excuse

(04:21):
me a but Quinn Snyder at halftimes like hey guys,
let's get going a little bit and as we've seen
with these playoff teams, they do bring it up a
notch and they took over in the third quarter and
outscored the Sixers convincingly in both the third and the
fourth to get it and win the game. And Trey
Young specifically, like you talk about turning on the switch,

(04:43):
it seemed like he did that, didn't he. I mean
he would just all of a sudden he would be
playing at a faster, pays higher level, making threes, making
those passes. That was the difference in the game.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
And they know these games are important, so Young ends
up with the big second half six threes. They're trying
to win them all that this does lock them into
the eighth position, which is not home court in the
play in tournament. They're still playing to avoid the nine
to ten game of the play in They have work
to do if they want to be the eight seed,
or they could be the seventh seed if if they

(05:14):
were to go on the road and win. But that's
the life with the play in tournament. I should also
note I mentioned the postgame autograph thing. It's fan appreciation
Night presented by Snack Factory and the pop'ams from Snack
Factory so the Hawks win one twenty four to one
to ten. But that was pretty cool, right to see

(05:36):
the Sixers players interacting with the fans. We saw that
on Wednesday in DC as well with the autograph.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Tear ye No for sure right to get a game
war in Jersey from an NBA player that that works,
that's great. So and again the fans deserve a lot
of credit. The Sixers one of the top teams in
attendance in the NBA. I don't know specifically, but I'm
pretty sure it was top five and another sellout of
nineteen thousand, seven hundred and fifty two here tonight, So

(06:03):
no doubt the Sixers appreciate their fans. And of course
one of the big news not on the court at all,
but the successful surgery for Joel, because that's obviously where
a lot of the Sixers fortunes lie, and that is
the health of Joel Embiids. So positive news out of
that operation in New York and earlier.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
Today absolutely and apparently Maxie handed off em beads signed
Jersey tonight, nice which is a nice touch.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
And if anyone ticketmaster assisted a game, if.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Anybody was on their way to their car and missed
you say it. There was a successful bricking for chicken
tonight too, so courtesy of Atlanta's Dice and Daniels early
in the second half. It's a reminder that it's bricking
for Chicken time, courtesy of Chick fil A. Make sure
it down and open the Chick fil A App by
ten thirty am tomorrow to claim your free five count
Chick fil A Nuggets. You can redeem the reward by
scanning the Chick fil A App or by placing a

(06:57):
mobile order within three days of the game thanks to
Chick fil A. So you have to claim it by
tomorrow morning at ten thirty am, but then you can
use it within three days of tonight's game. It's also
been a very successful season in that regard too, so
Daniels though, what about his how he impacts a basketball game?
One of the best steal seasons of all time.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Yep, no, for sure, But boy I thought he was
four to eleven and four of eleven, but just the
way I mean sometimes the numbers tell the story, and
those two in part. But boy I thought he was
almost leery of shooting the three. And yet you look
in thirty four percents, not the end of the world.
That's actually above the clip.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
More of an off night, but does need to add
the shooting eight points for sure, ten rebounds, eight assists,
three steals.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
But he's got like the wingspan, it reminds you of Fible,
but he's got a little thinking that bigger of a
body than Fible. And you know certain guys have the
instinctual nature of where the ball they have, but shall
we say, a nose for the ball. And then you know,
he's just he's got a really good knack of deflections
and steals. And you know certain guys are like that,

(08:05):
they're around the ball. So you got to have that,
particularly you know in the East, if you're going to
guard the likes of Brown and Tatum and some of
the great players all around the NBA. But he's definitely
going to be good for them in the future. And
like I said, that was a trade. The dejent de
Murray part of, you know, the Atlanta experience didn't really

(08:26):
pan out maybe the way the Hawks thought it would be,
and now they get a player maybe of lesser ability,
you know, like in certain areas, but Daniels maybe fits
their team better.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Steels leader over two hundred and twenty steals almost two
thirty at this point for Dyson Daniels. It was not
an Okongwu game for them, and a Den Bona was
a big part of that.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
What did you see there first half? Yeah, I thought
a demo played him.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
Oh Kana ended up with voul trouble, but that I
mean not to start the game, no, for sure.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
And you know Bona went right at him, like I
thought of Kongwu like to me, like Capel is hurt,
but in a way like his development. I think they
felt a little better. Maybe getting rid of DeAndre Hunter,
you know, that might have been part of it, but
a Bona, like I said, like he played really well
and to me like the end of the season has

(09:20):
provided the Sixers with a longer look at some of
these players as coach up Marty No like and it'll
be interesting to see how it fits because you you
might be able to fill out the roster, the players
around Paul George and Maxi and Ubre and Embiid and
if you're able to get Drummond and if you're able
to resign you I wasselling with the likes of Lonnie

(09:43):
Walker and Grimes and Bona, you know like you might
have the makings of a great second unit with some
of these players that got development and got big minutes
toward the ends of this the year, including Bona.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
So Walker only played ten minutes in the second half.
All twelve of his points were in the first half.
Bona scored most of his in the first half, fourteen
out of his eighteen, but his final line for den
Bona was eighteen points, six rebounds, three blocked shots. That
stat from Wednesday's game was that he was leading the
NBA over the last month in blocks per game, edging

(10:18):
out Miles Turner with two and a half blocks per game.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
I think coming in. Turner ended up.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Having four blocks last night for Indiana, so he has
the most total blocked shots in the last month, but
A den Bona's right there with the league's best in
that category. Only missed one shot tonight, eight for nine.
And since we're still waiting to hear any postgame remarks,
let's talk about the two ten day contract players, Marcus
Bagley and Colin Castleton, because both of them had career

(10:46):
high scoring games for the Sixers tonight. It was twenty
plus ten rebounds for Bagley, sixteen points off the bench
for Castleton. Just memorable nights to say the least for them.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yeah, and again like to me, I've seen like from
both of them, particularly tonight from Bagley, because like coach
Nurse said, like at some point that three point percentage
has got a match up intend that here. Now is
Nick Nurse a little bit? I think, But.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
You know, like like I said before the game, I
mean it's that's a good game. Twenty ten and five
and hitting four threes, that's a pretty pretty good game.
A lot of minutes too for him, probably a few
too many. He was pretty tired out there, so yeah,
he looked good. Yeah, also also very good. You know,

(11:36):
I think that he's gonna play hard, he's gonna rebound hard.
Pretty good passer, got a decent feel. Just wasn't quite
sure what scoring ability he had, but he obviously tipped
a few in tonight. It hit a couple you know,
little kind of half hook shots in there too, which
you know he's gonna get those against some of the

(11:59):
you know, some of the rolling into the lane and
stuff like that. So again, very very good. Both those
guys were were excellent. I would imagine those are probably
career highs for both those guys.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
It seems like Colin he plays with a lot of energy.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Like you see them ever rebound to look over.

Speaker 6 (12:13):
At the bench.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
Yeah, yeah, great energy. He's got great energy, and uh,
he does play very very hard.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
I think.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
I think he got decent size and and gives everything
he's got, you know, gives everything he's got. And he's
got a little rim protection in him too. I think
he he didn't get any blocks tonight, but he had
a few in the other games and things like that.
So yeah, I think I think with some development, he
could be a good player given that point.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Of attack and just generally limiting of drill penetration has
been an issue for those this season.

Speaker 7 (12:49):
I guess you look at a dem and his ability
to sort of stay back and defend the room as
more like this is actually more like more impressive that
he can do what he's doing and given the challenge.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Yeah, I mean, I think that the things that I've
been noticing, his teams are really trying to game plan
to get him away from rim protection, and you know,
we've kind of just been trying to show him and
alerting him for that to just that he's got to
do it no matter what And it's even like it's

(13:22):
a little difficult when he's playing a guy that can shoot.
But with you know, this scenario, we just kind of
keep telling him to make sure he doesn't get pulled away, right,
so he can get there. And you're you're right, there's
there's some opportunities, especially from the weak side, and he's
he's doing a you know, excellent job of changing shots,
blocking shots, making a miss, all the all those kind

(13:44):
of things.

Speaker 7 (13:45):
Yeah, him take on the offensive end, and this kind
of seems like he's gone, like I guess, a softer
touch around the REMI as a season that's continued to progress.

Speaker 5 (13:54):
Yep, he's he's finishing has gotten much better, right do
you think he's he's figuring out a way to I mean,
first of all, he's super quick sometimes just to dunk
those in you know, touches his hands and he's dunking
them straight down. But he's moving it around just enough
to like he's going in there and in the air,
he'll move it, move it around the arm or whatever
that's in his path to find a clear path to

(14:17):
get it in there. And you're right, his touch has
been very good too.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
But about what he feels like.

Speaker 6 (14:23):
His big strength Stortady mentioned is adaptability.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
What have you seen when it comes to his ability
willingness to adjust to whatever cast of players might be around.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
Well, I think again, I say this a lot about
somebody in his position or Jeff's or whatever, Like, first
and foremost, they got to organize the team and run
the team and lead the team, right, I think that's
important for that position.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (14:46):
And he's got very good, very good spirit in that sense.
And and he can shoot, right, I think I think
he can shoot the three ball. And I would say
that mostly he doesn't need to hunt him down. He
needs to kind of wait for the rhythm ones to
come to him and and then he's I think, making

(15:09):
good decisions. So run the run the offense, wait for
the rhythm threes, you know, and then obviously you got
to defend your position, right. That's that's the biggest thing.

Speaker 6 (15:20):
Came here with a reputation as he's mostly a play
finisher on offense, right like above the rim, go up, dunks, layups,
But we've seen more of that one dribble move or
attacking a guy off the dribble. I guess, how do
you how do you think you guys got him to
a point where he feels comfortable and confident making those disias.

Speaker 5 (15:39):
Yeah, I mean I think it's Listen, he's worked very
very hard, right. I mean, the the amount of reps
and time and minutes he's put in doing all those
drills to improve his skill has been has been a
big factor for that, right, He's really our player development

(15:59):
coaches have put him through a lot, and he's had
as a great motor as you can see, and that
you know, I always say, like, having a great motor
is important day after day after day so that you
can do the work to get better, right, And he's
got one of those motors where he just doesn't come
in and say, oh, you know, I'm too tired of
work today, Like he always finds a switch to flip

(16:22):
to get into into work mode. And I think he's
just put in a lot of time. Yeah, pretty clear,
Pretty clear. I mean I think he's a great kid, right, obviously,
great personality, very very athletic. And I again keep saying
that the energy thing, uh is one of his calling cards. Right,

(16:49):
I think he's done a pretty good job. I can't.
I can't. Early in the season, I could go back
and think of some games that just didn't seem like
he had it, but not for a while, right, not
for a while. And that's what we've been asking him
to do, is make sure his mind and his body
are ready and that he can give a tremendous effort
and use all that athleticism night in and night out.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Nick Nurse Parks Casino postgame show, Matt Murphy, Tom McGinnis
final score of the Atlanta Hawks won twenty four the
Philadelphia seventy six Ers won ten. We time that up
right with some Bagley and Castleton talk there at the beginning,
right as we started to get into it about them,
Tom on their career high nights of twenty for Bagley,
sixteen for Castleton, and Castleton's G League rights are with

(17:33):
the Assiola Magic who tonight can win the G League
Finals at ten East or ten Eastern out in Stockton,
California against the Kings. Mack Yeah, mac mcflung's averaging like
forty in the in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Well for those players, like regardless of what their future
is with the Sixers, you know what I mean, Like
it's gonna totally jack up their summer and or in
the case of Bona who will be back for definite
you know, like let's just say it didn't play out.
Let's say the Sixers he barely played or played spot minutes.

(18:05):
He might go into the summer or go in the
next year. Like I wonder if now I think he's
gonna feel confident that he can be a contributing player,
which is a major difference. Like I remember former six
Ers GM, Brian Kalent, Caelangelo, just the way that he
would talk about NBA minutes like so and so played
fifteen hundred or whatever. So I don't know what the

(18:26):
numbers are for I'm sure it's not that maybe for
a damn but just the experience, you know, like that
for all of those guys, and including Jared Butler, this
is the most he's ever played in a row. Really,
you know, like there's a lot to be said for
how the season ended and think that these guys got this.
But that's one of the benefits for the Sixers and

(18:48):
for the players, their confidence and the knowledge and their ability,
because like I always say, when you get the opportunity
and you meet it with your talent and your work
ethic and all those things, then the sky's a limit
for a young player.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
Both a Damn and Jared Butler in postgame availabilities this
year have just talked about how much easier the approaches
coming to the building when you know you're going to
play thirty minutes or so, and tonight they were both
right around that mark and they have been for weeks
at this point, so that's a huge advantage.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Which again, like people don't realize, but there's a lot
of pressure on a professional athlete, and like you're saying,
if the windows so much smaller, like you only get
I go back to Buddy Hill than the playoffs last year,
in the first game or two he got I think
in the first game in New York, he took like
one to three and sort of you know, this is

(19:40):
just sort of how I remember it, like pasted on
another one. And then he didn't play like that was
his window. It's almost like training for the Olympics, this
one little window you gotta take. And then granted he
played late and he made like five in game six,
so you could say, whoa, maybe he should have played
some more, okay, but I'm just saying, like you gotta deliver.
Like coach Nurse was talking about this, is what I

(20:02):
touched on Bagley, like he made threes with the Coats,
and at certain points it has to match up, you know,
you gotta be able to the percentage has to mess
up with the expectation.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
And that's for any player, you know, because you can't
not take them like you're saying too, like it's it's
not unfair to say the Hawks were probably gonna let
Marcus Bagley shoot in this game based on the film
and recent stats. And he came out and drilled four
out of four in the second quarter, which was a
big part of tonight's game. And credit the G League,
Credit the Blue Coats because he had up his three

(20:34):
point attempts number to around eight in March with them.
Wasn't hugely successful, but it's a training ground.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Where did he play college again.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Arizona State for Bob Bobby Hurley, but he played seventeen
games in three years injuries, he was suspended at time.
So I mean he's he's got a lot of upside
there and the Blue Coats have.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Kind of tapped at this college high too.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
That was the reason I posed he had a six
game in the G League, he had won with six
three pointers last season but yeah, for college, he didn't
play a lot, So great games for those guys tonight,
effort from adem bona rebounding from Bagley and Castleton. Those
are skills that help you stick in the NBA. And
Bagley had ten boards on his night. Castleton had eight rebounds,
five on the offensive glass. And now it's a Chicago

(21:16):
Bulls team that was had a comfortable halftime lead on
Washington tonight. They entered that game with a thirty seven
and forty three record. They're coming here to Philly on
Sunday for a one pm game. They've won four out
of five. They're really good on the road. They have
twenty road wins this season, and and the Sixers are
up to to one in the season series.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Though.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Just but it was a big one forty two to
one ten win for Chicago here in the most recent
game February twenty fourth. What can you take from those games,
Josh Giddy, Kobe White and company.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Yeah, no, the Bulls are playing probably their best basketball.
The Zach Lavine trade may have been like additioned by subtract,
and that's saying a lot, because Lavine just had a
forty something point game with the Kings but they've really
taken off of the last two or three weeks, so
for them, they would want to keep it going against
the Sixers. And then you know, they look like they're

(22:04):
going to be in the ninth game, so that.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Won't be Atlanta, it'll be Orlando hosting Atlanta and probably
Chicago hosting Miami.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
But then then they got to win two games, right,
they're going to have to beat.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
You might play Atlanta if they lose to Orlando, So
you play, if you beat Miami, you play the loser
of that Orlando Atlanta game.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Yeah, play in the tournament.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
No, the Bulls like Giddy's been a great trade. I
think that you would argue, would you know, been a
win for both teams, but probably Chicago with the upside
and that just that he's younger than Caruso, and I
think he's gonna do more long term, maybe for the Bulls,
but you know, again, like obviously prest, he knew what
the Thunder needed and they needed the veteran Cruso who

(22:43):
does a lot and brings a bunch to your team.
But no, that'll be that'll be an interesting game. Like Chicago,
the Sixers have done well over the years against the
Bulls of late, but this is a whole different ballgame
here in the regular season.

Speaker 3 (22:56):
Wind up, all right, Sunday afternoon, the Sixers and the Bulls.
We'll do some coverage of the Masters. While that postgame
show is going on on Sunday, we'll do some golf
play by play and analysis.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Maybe all right, all right, Tom, I got that. I
guarantee you good. Thanks Tom.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
The final score tonight, the Atlanta Hawks won twenty four.
The Philadelphia seventy six Ers won ten in the penultimate
game of the regular season. It's a fourteen point Hawk's
victory and it will be the Bulls coming to town next.
The Sixers were led by Jared Butler's twenty five points,
and then it was Marcus Bagley with twenty points and

(23:32):
Colin Castleton with sixteen, which was actually just behind a
dem Bona who ended with eighteen. Lonnie Walker twelve, ten
for Rickey Council, seven for Jalen Hood Chafino, and two
for Jeff Dalton Junior. They had eight players tonight. Those
are all eight players. We're not done yet. We'll hear
the audio highlights of this game. Will select a stat

(23:53):
of the game. We'll go through it from start to
finish on the other side, and then wrap up our
coverage following this fourteen point game going to the Hawks.
You're listening to the seventy six Ers postgame show presented
by Parks Casino.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
You were listening to.

Speaker 4 (24:07):
The Sixers Radio Network presented by Jackpot City Casino.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
So the Atlanta Hawks take and sweep the season series
from the Philadelphia seventy six Ers, with the third win
coming tonight in Philadelphia in the only game of the
season here between the two teams. They won twice in
Atlanta in March and tonight in Philly by a final
score of one. Twenty four won ten, led by thirty

(24:33):
six points and eleven assists from Trey Young and eighteen
rebounds for Mohammed Gay with his ten points. That's a
career high rebounds. Young had a big second half of
twenty three points. We'll hear it in the highlights coming up.
The Sixers were led by Jared Butler and his Sixers
high twenty five points, twenty for Marcus Bagley, eighteen for

(24:55):
a dem Bona, and sixteen for Colin Castleton off the bench,
which is a career high. Bagley's as well ten of
Castleton's sixteen in the second half. Matt Murphy back with you.
It was an eight man rotation for the seventy six
Ers in a game that featured fourteen lead changes and
fourteen ties against the Atlanta Hawks, who will be the

(25:17):
eighth seed in the Eastern Conference play in tournament with
a thirty nine and forty two record. Let's hear how
it sounded, as called by Tom McGuinness here on the
Parks Casino post game show. The Sixers and the Hawks
in South Philly. Sixers in their red Statement edition uniforms again,

(25:40):
the Hawks in white. Twelve inactives for Philadelphia, including Quinton
Grimes tonight with a shoulder injury, abusele a knee injury
after missing the last two games for personal reasons. Justin
Edwards remains out with the rib injury. So eight available players.
Five players out for Atlanta, among them Clint Capella and

(26:03):
Jalen Johnson. So the Sixers use their fifty fourth different
starting lineup in Game eighty one. It was Jared Butler,
Ricky Council, the fourth, Lonnie Walker the fourth, Marcus Bagley
and a dem Bona. On Fan Appreciation Night presented by
Snack Factory and the All New Pophams, and at the
first time out, the Sixers had a thirteen eleven lead

(26:24):
thanks to Jared Butler.

Speaker 1 (26:26):
Now the Sixers come up with it elite past the
Mohama Gegos. The Sixers way eleven eleven. Jared Butler wunna
drive in on ocago it in. I'm remarkable turning hunder
heads Scoop and Quinn Snyder, the coach of the Hawks,
want to time out.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
Two point lead for the Sixers at thirteen eleven, eight
points to lead everybody in the first quarter for Jared Butler,
who finished with the twenty five plus seven assists, he
played twenty nine minutes, made nine of his eighteen shots,
four out of nine threes, matching Marcus Bagley will Hear
some of for three pointers with four will hear one

(27:04):
of those in a moment four for nine, Butler from
deep three for three at the line. It's one off
his NBA career high, which was in this building as
a Washington Wizard early this season. But on the second
night of a back to back for Atlanta after winning
in Brooklyn last night, they did have a three point
advantage after one twenty nine twenty six truly a three

(27:24):
point advantage and a huge discrepancy of the line nine
for ten Atlanta compared to zero for one in the
first quarter twenty nine twenty six Hawks. Those numbers ended
up being eighteen of twenty four for the Hawks seventy
five percent and twelve of fifteen for the Sixers eighty percent,
So the Sixers took nine fewer free throws. They were

(27:45):
down by three heading into the second quarter, but they
floated for a forty point second quarter, despite a double
digit frame from Caris Lavert, who had an eighteen point
first half.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
Castleton, the former Gator to Jared Butler eight to shoot
three forty to go back into Castleton outside right, Marcus
Bagley with it to the corner, three on o'clock. That's
gonna have to get it off. He drives a day
block and o'kongo comes up with it and on the
outlet it's Lavert who's four for four. Lavert off the
dribble going left right, hangs, fires and connects and he's

(28:23):
going to the line for what could be a three
point play.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Three point play not to be had. It stayed fifty
three forty nine Atlanta. Lavert, formerly with Brooklyn and Indiana
and Cleveland. He was part of the DeAndre Hunter trade
with George Niang, and he scores a season high thirty
one points tonight in thirty minutes off the bench for
the Hawks. He ended up missing three shots, but not

(28:48):
in the first half when he was seven for seven.
He did miss that free throw while leading by four,
and here comes Marcus Bagley with multiple threes. He didn't
miss a three in the second quarter after he had
one off an assist from Jalen hoods Chaffino. He helps
build what was a Sixers lead up six at multiple

(29:09):
times late in the first half in a comeback ffirt.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
He built it up to eight. Here's the three.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
Here's another Bagley three. He's having a career night in
the NBA from three. He just poured another three. Badley
got to start. He's got fourteen points. He's four or
five from three. Six is lead the Hawks by eight.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
All four of his threes in that second quarter. Badley
in a sixty six fifty eight game and the Sixers
had a sixty six sixty lead at halftime. Ninth NBA
game on his second ten day contract. Marcus Bagley, whose

(29:52):
NBA career high was nine points coming into this one.
Finishes with twenty plus ten rebounds, five assists, and two
blocks in a game high thirty eight minutes and twenty
two seconds. He had thirty points in a game with
the Blue Coats last year, twenty five in a game
this year for Delaware, four to three pointers, and twenty

(30:14):
points for the Sixers tonight, who were up by six
after two quarters because they won that second quarter forty
thirty one. Sixers had a twenty to nine record when
leading at halftime this season. Good start to the second
half for Atlanta though a steal and then that Trey
Young connection with the number one pick Zachary Reza Shank.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
He just comes up with the ball though a steal
by Daniels, and here's Reesa she with his slam. Ricky
Council lost it. Daniels, who leads the NBA in steals,
gets maybe the easiest one of the year. It goes
right to him. He's been averaging three steals per game.
Nobody's done that since Alvin Robinson back in nineteen ninety one.

Speaker 3 (30:59):
That was the first basket of the second half. Reeza
sche though scored ten of his twelve points in the
first two quarters, so that was his only basket of
the second half after a career high thirty eight points
for the top pick last night in Brooklyn. To the
point about Dyson Daniels and his steals. With his second

(31:22):
steal of tonight's game, this is our stat of the game.
Daniels tied Rick Barry for single season steals two hundred
and twenty eight, which is twenty first in NBA history.
Gary Payton has a two hundred and thirty one steal
season just above him on the list that was nineteen
ninety five ninety six. They have one more game left.
He could reach that number with a couple more steals.

(31:44):
Dyson Daniels and the Hawks they trailed sixty six sixty two,
and we fast forward to the end of the third quarter,
Sixers down three to late in it another ten day
contract player Colin Castleton, the six to ten big man
out of the University of Florida.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
On the runout Pierce Castleton into the lague, goes up
and scores it. On Muhammad Day, Go Gators, Go. Colin
Castleton put it in. He's three for three with eight points.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
He tied the game at eighty five at the line.
Ten of his career high sixteen points in the second half.
Five of his eight rebounds were on the offensive glass
in twenty five minutes Colin Castleton, although Atlanta answered with
threes from Niang and Lavert. The thirty one points for
Lavert it was sixteen for Kniang. Both players made four threes.

(32:37):
That's how Atlanta ended the third quarter and with a
ninety one eighty five lead. Castleton, by the way, last
year was an NBA Cup champion with the Lakers, which
while on a two way contract that basically doubled his
salary with the five hundred thousand dollars NBA Cup bonus,
which it's around five hundred and seventy thousand for a
two way contract player, and he had a five hundred

(32:59):
K bonus with the Lakers last year. Big game for
the Sixers here in the second to last game of
the season, Hawks up ninety one eighty five through three
after holding the Sixers to nineteen in the third, thirty
one to nineteen advantage for the six point lead as they.

Speaker 2 (33:14):
Flipped the halftime script.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
And we can't go the whole time without mentioning the
leading scorer, Trey Young after eleven points in the third quarter.
Here's Young for thirty in the game.

Speaker 1 (33:28):
Here's Trey Young trying to draw a foul. Instead he
puts it in and then brags itim But he went
from complaining about the lack of a foul to yeah,
it's showing a lack of mean. Really, it's good.

Speaker 3 (33:42):
The Sixers came into this one one and forty eight
their record win trailing after three quarter, which they ultimately
were because of the Hawks' third quarter and one eight
ninety eight for the Hawks after the Young three to
get him to thirty in the game became a final
score of one to twenty four one ten Atlanta in victory.

(34:05):
They're thirty nine and forty two. The Sixers are twenty
four and fifty seven overall. A little bit more on
Young's game tonight, a quick look around the NBA and
a final sign off coming up. But we did just
cross over ten o'clock, so a quick ten second pause here.

(34:26):
On the Sixers radio network for station identification.

Speaker 4 (34:30):
Is Sixers Backetball on ninety seven The Fanatic and Burlington, Philadelphia,
a Beastly Media group station.

Speaker 3 (34:43):
With his thirty six points eleven assists, which came on
his points on ten of twenty two shooting, Trey Young
six for thirteen from three to ten for twelve. At
the line, he was ten for twelve. The Sixers were
twelve for fifteen as a team at the free throw line.
It is Trey Young's fifty first double double of the season,

(35:06):
which is the sixth most in the NBA, but it's
first for guards by fifteen. Hardin is the next closest guard,
but Young with fifty one. Sibonis leads entered the day
leading the NBA in double doubles with fifty nine, Yokic
with fifty eight. Everybody's in action tonight, Denver's hosting Memphis,

(35:31):
first half coming to a close. They're down nine in
the Nuggets, and I mentioned Sibonis as well as the
double double leader. Sacramento hosts the Clippers right about now.
It'll be the Sixers and the Bulls on on Sunday
in the season finale after a one twenty four to

(35:54):
one to ten loss tonight to Atlanta. That will also
be a home game, and it will be Junior seventy
six Ers Kids' Day presented by five Below, at which
the first five thousand fans fourteen and under will receive
a five below Junior seventy six Ers backpack. This has

(36:15):
been the seventy six Ers postgame show presented by Parks Casino.
Again the final score the Hawks won twenty four, the
Sixers one ten. Thanks to our engineer Marty Dickerson, producers
Matt Manrick and Sean Rodman, and of course Tom McGinnis
on the call. That final Sixers game of the season
is Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, a one pm Eastern home

(36:36):
start against those Chicago Bulls. Are coverage here on the
Sixers Radio Network presented by Jackpot City Casino, will again
begin at twelve, well not again, We'll begin at twelve
fifty Eastern. Until then, I'm Matt Murphy saying so long
from the center. Thanks so much for listening, Have a
great weekend and take care
