Speaker 1 (00:00):
The place most people think is the end is actually
just the beginning. People think you just have to dream it,
think it, and then give it over to the universe
and let them let the universe do its thing. It's
actually not the case at all. That's just the seed
being planted. At this point, you have to think, are
you really ready for that desire to come true? Now,
this is the most important part. I'm Ralei Wkah and
(00:21):
on my podcast A Really Good Cry, we embrace the
messy and the beautiful, providing a space for raw, unfiltered
conversations that celebrate vulnerability and allow you to tune in
to learn, connect and find comfort together. Hey everyone, and
welcome back to this week's episode of A Really Good Cry. Now,
today I'm going to talk about a topic that comes
(00:42):
up a lot living in LA And honestly, I used
to be a skeptic every single time I heard the
word manifesting, especially here in LA, because everyone is manifesting
everything from their boyfriends to their booties. But honestly, after
becoming more intentional in my life and truly seeing and
understanding the power of it, I realize it actually is
(01:04):
pretty powerful and magical and incredible. If you are able
to do it right. I think there's this woo woo
idea of manifestation these days that is this magical thing
that happens. And like I said, I do think it
is quite magical, but not in the mystical way that
you might think. It's not just wishing or hoping for
it to come true or come into existence, or waiting
(01:27):
for the very manifestation Godmother to come and give you
all your heart desires. It's actually way more.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Practical than that.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
How do I change my lifestyle and the things that
I'm doing daily to support and move towards achieving this
goal that I want. Achieving a goal requires clear intention,
actionable planning, and consistent effort, and manifesting is simply using
tools and systems to bring your goals into reality. So
you're focusing your energy, your thoughts, and your actions into
(01:57):
achieving your desired outcome, bringing something really tangible into your
life through attraction and belief. When I started researching it,
reading about it, and listening to people speak about it,
I actually realized that so much of my life has
been a result of this process, and that's what it is.
It actually is a process. I chose a goal. I
(02:18):
refine my intention and my desire around it.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
I imagine what it.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Would feel like, what it would be like to achieve
it or have the thing that I wanted. I changed
and I adapted my lifestyle, my habits, and my routine
to be conducive to the desire and believed every single
day that it was for me. Now, I believe in God,
and I have since I was very young, and so
I also believe that it's so much more than just
(02:43):
a mething. Actually it's never really just an eye. It's
always a wee. And I read this in Gabby Bernstein's
book All about Manifestation. It's called the super Attractor, and
she says that manifesting is known as co creating, and
I really loved that definition. It's a collaboration between you
and the universe, between you and God. And the truth
(03:07):
is that sometimes when you do end up thinking it's
a me thing, it's actually what limits us from opening
ourselves to the opportunities or the possibility of more than
what we even believe we are capable of.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
So believing it's a.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Team effort with you and God or you and the
universe makes it feel like more is possible. More than
you could even imagine, more than you even think. It's
part of your reality, more than you could even foresee
for yourself. You believe more could be possible because it's
not just you. It's not you and your limited capabilities.
It's you plus something or someone that is capable of
(03:41):
doing anything and everything. And so actually believing that it's
a we and not me makes so much more possible.
The first time that I can really think back to
when I did feel like I had manifested something in
my life was when I was deeply seeking a spiritual community.
And this was about, gosh, maybe like fifteen years ago now,
maybe just under and I had such a deep desire to.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Have a meaningful spiritual practice in my life.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I just graduated from college or from university, and I
was feeling a little bit lost. I never felt like
I found a group of people that I really felt
connected to through my university days. I did, I had
made really good friends, but I still felt like I
was lacking something. And I think a big part of
that was this deep desire to feel connected to God
(04:28):
and understand find a community that also felt that way.
And so the desire was already there in me and
had been for a while, and somehow through my mum,
I actually got introduced to a spiritual youth group. And
at that time, my routine or my lifestyle really was
not conducive to what they were doing. They'd all have
met ups on Fridays, and I'd have plans to go
(04:48):
out with my friends to a bar or to hang
out as SSHA place that night, or they'd do early
morning prayers and I would have late nights the day before,
so I wouldn't make it or wake up in time
for it. So I really had to create space in
my life. I created space. I created an environment that
didn't just let me receive what I'd been asking for,
but also allowed me to maintain it and keep it.
(05:10):
And honestly, at the time it was really hard. My
friends were confused, my family were confused. I suddenly decided
to shift my whole reality into something new, and so
it was really difficult for me to shift. But also
the shift was difficult for other people around me, and
they did not fail to let me know it. And
so I had made a decision that I would go
(05:31):
to the temple every single morning before I went to work.
Now that meant I had to wake up at about
four am, to get there for four thirty, to stay
there till about six thirty seven, go home, get ready
for work, and leave, and then to be able to
do that all over again the next day, which I
was trying to do. I really wanted to commit to
just investing as much time and energy into something that
I'd been wanting for so long, and so to be
(05:52):
able to do that, I had to sacrifice certain things,
so that meant no social life after work. I had
made a decison that for my own consciousness, I didn't
want to eat out in places that served me, and
so that restricted my social life even more. And I
just became very aware of being in environments that were
supporting that life I wanted, and that weren't. And there
(06:13):
were so many other things that I had to change.
But I'm telling you all this to say that it
did come to me, and it took work to keep
it in my life, and it has every day since.
And so manifestation is not just dreaming, it's not just
envisioning what you want. It's not a woo woo experience.
It's a full on process. And honestly, that's just one
example I've seen it happen professionally and personally in my
(06:36):
life over and over again. So before I share some
tips on how to start manifesting in your life, I'm
actually going to share some warnings for you, some of
the mistakes that I've made along this process, that I've
heard other people make or I've seen for myself, because
sometimes we can be desiring something consciously or subconsciously and
not even realizing that we're doing it. I'm going to
share these with you because it will save you from
(06:58):
making these mistakes and you can just learn from mind
instead of making them yourself. So the first thing is
to make sure you know exactly what it is that
you want. Be so careful about what you ask for,
because the fact is the universe is listening at every moment.
God is listening at every moment, and so you really
need to know what is it that I'm asking for.
(07:18):
You're the only one that knows your dreams that you're
dreaming of every single day, so you have to refine
those dreams, become so clear about what it is that
you really want, Be aware of all the possible challenges,
the changes that might happen, and the outcomes of that
choice that you are making of that desire that you have,
you have to get really specific about it. Some of
(07:40):
my friends right now are trying to find their partners
in life, and I've been saying this to my friend
over and over again because she keeps telling me the
type of person she wants. She really wants to be
financially stable. It's something that she didn't have when she
was younger, and she experienced her mum struggling with it,
and so that's something she really wants. And so a
lot of her focus and energy when it comes to
having a partner is focusing on that is financially stable,
(08:01):
that's able to look after her and care for her.
But I keep saying to him, like, you better be
careful what you keep asking for and be really specific,
because if you're saying you want to be supported and
looked after, that may come to you financially, but what
about emotionally? What about mentally? And I've seen this happen.
When the focus is financial stability, for example, and you're
(08:21):
only focusing on that one thing, you may end up
getting someone who is exactly that, but who's too busy
working to be there for you, who is emotionally unavailable
or emotionally abusive. And so all that to say, you
have to be very careful what you are asking for.
So when you're trying to manifest something, develop a detailed
(08:42):
description from the qualities, to the values, to the characteristics,
not just based on your immediate desires that come to mind,
but whether it's a partner or a professional goal or
a life goal, make sure you know exactly what you
are asking for. I have definitely experienced this professionally. I
really wanted this one thing, and I kept thinking about it,
I kept speaking about it. I was putting in a
(09:04):
lot of effort to receive that, putting in a lot
of energy towards it without truly thinking it through. And
it did come to me, but not in the way
that I wanted it to, and it didn't actually make
me feel the way that I thought it would. And
after all that, I realized I actually didn't want it
at all, and it wasn't what was going to help
me in my life, and it wasn't what was going
to bring me the joy that I thought it would.
(09:25):
So remember that where your thoughts flow and your energy
goes is where you.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Will end up.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
It's what you will become in your life. So do
it intentionally and thoughtfully. And now once you figured out
what it is that you actually want, you then need
to start the process of bringing it into existence.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
So what does that actually mean.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
It means taking it from your mind, from your dream
and bringing out to God and to the universe. So
whether that is writing out, praying it, vision boarding it,
speaking it to yourself every single day, bringing it to life.
And I actually read this about manifesting about writing down
your goals, and it said that you are forty percent
(10:03):
more likely to achieve your goal if you write it
down because the active writing reinforces your commitment and keeps
the goal at the top of your mind. And so
ideally writing it down every single day, or seeing it
in front of you every single day, having it stuck
up on your bedroom more having it stuck up in
your office, like having it at the top of your mind.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
It almost stops you.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
From making choices throughout the day that don't serve that
goal or that purpose, because it's so easy to forget things.
We have so many things running through our mind over
and over again throughout the day, and so sometimes the
big goals that we want to achieve they take a
back seat. But if you are seeing it every day,
writing it every day, it will help you to curate
your life to meet that goal. It will make it
(10:44):
more likely that you will do things and change your
lifestyle and say yes to the right things that actually
support the goal that you are trying to achieve. So
then once you brought it into existence, you've moved it
from your dreams or your subconscious to your reality. That
is just the beginning. The place most people think is
the end is actually just the beginning. People think you
(11:05):
just have to dream it, think it, and then give
it over to the universe and let them let the
universe do it's thing. It's actually not the case at all.
That's just the seed being planted. At this point, you
have to think, are you really ready for that desire
to come true? Now, this is the most important part.
It's preparing for your prayers. It's preparing for what you
are asking for when it comes. Are you going to
(11:27):
be ready? Have you done the groundwork to plant the seed?
Do you have the nutrients and the water you need
to grow the seed? And then you have to keep
the plant alive. Do you have the vision and the
eyes to recognize it when it comes into your life.
Do you have the space in your life to receive
it and the lifestyle and the mindset to actually hold
on to it and keep it. I once asked one
(11:50):
of my close friends. I said to her, so, what
have you been up to and she said, oh, you know,
I've just been taking these dance lessons and I was like, oh, amazing.
You know, she's a singer, and so I asked her.
I said, oh, do you have a performance coming up
or you know, are you shooting a music video or something?
And she said no, I'm just preparing for my prayers.
And I was like, what She's like, I'm just preparing
(12:11):
for my prayers because the one day when it does
come that I am on stage in front of thousands
of people, the day that I get the call that
I'm signed to this label, the day I get the call,
I need to be ready to be able to get
onto that stage. I need the dance moves ready, I
need my singing voice to be ready. I need to
be prepared so that when that day comes, I'm not
(12:33):
getting ready from that moment. I don't start the preparations there.
I don't start as a beginner I actually am already
the expert. I'm ready to receive it. And that really
shifted my mindset once I heard that, rather than thinking
when is it coming? Why isn't it coming? To me?
Changing that internal dialogue, am I ready for it?
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Whether it's in.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Relationships where you're asking when will that person come? When
will I find them? When will the right person walk
into my life? That to am I ready to receive
the man or woman that I'm dreaming about? Have I
done the work to be worthy of that person? Have
I done the work to maintain a relationship with them
once I receive them? Have I cleansed my mind and
(13:14):
my heart to be able to even recognize this person
when they do come my way? So this next one
I'm going to share with you is probably the thing
I found the hardest about manifesting. And I read this
one line and I realized that all these years I
thought I was doing this process, but really and truly
I was missing this key component, Are you ready for it?
It's a pretty tough pill to swallow. The line says,
(13:38):
you manifest what you subconsciously believe that you are worthy
of receiving. I'm going to say that one more time,
you manifest what you subconsciously believe you are worthy of receiving.
So what do you believe you deserve? And are you
talking to and treating yourself in that way too? My
friend keeps saying she wants a certain type of guy,
but she's still talking to the kind of guys who've
(13:59):
always been good to her. She keeps going for the
same type of guide that isn't emotionally available, that doesn't
treat her well. They will look the same, they will
act the same. There's no mystery about it. We know
from the moment she's talking to them that they're going
to be the same type of person. But that's not
telling the universe or yourself that you deserve better. It's
not telling the world that you're ready for new and improved.
(14:22):
It's you saying you're happy with the stale and the old,
and you don't really care whether it gets better or not,
because you're choosing to continue the same pattern. You're choosing
to tell yourself this is all I deserve, this is
all I'm worthy of, and even professionally, this is honestly
where I struggled the most. I always felt like I
was not intelligent from a young age, from teachers telling
me that to being the least intelligent person in my
(14:44):
family academically. It was just something that I didn't really
quite shake growing up, and I didn't realize how much
it affected me until I started going into rooms and
feeling like, why am I here?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Have I just been invited? Out of pity?
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I wonder what got them to invite me to this
from or oh my gosh, why do they want me
to write a book? Like? All this doubt that used
to keep coming into my mind over and over again,
and honestly, all it did was hold me back. All
it did was hold me back from dreaming bigger. All
it did was hold me back from thinking I even
deserved more or could do more. And I really had
to work through it, and honestly, at times I still
have to. But I started telling myself I do deserve better.
(15:19):
Every time those thoughts came into my mind, I would
switch it. You have to switch things up. If you
notice a negative thought passion about yourself going on over
and over again in your mind, it's disrupting your ability
to dream bigger. And so if your minds telling you
I'm not intelligent enough or that you don't deserve something,
so I do deserve it, I do work hard, and
it really did shift what came to me, or you know,
(15:42):
maybe it is just it changed what I saw as
opportunities or that I started saying yes to things. But
either way, things started to change in my life and
manifest in my life differently. So it's one thing asking
for something that you want and trying to manifest it,
But do you really believe to your core that you
were worthy of receiving it? And that can be the
(16:02):
one single difference between desiring something and thinking you're manifesting
it to actually becoming true and real in your life,
because if you don't believe it, no one else will.
And if you don't believe that you're capable of receiving it,
keeping it and working hard for it, what's the universe
going to think. It's giving you exactly what you think
you deserve, not what you're thinking about. It's giving you
(16:23):
what you think you deserve in your life.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
Next.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
I constantly have received reminders that when you are trying
to manifest things in your life, you may not get
everything that you envision in the timeframe that you expect it,
or even in the way that you expect it to
get it, but having gratitude for every little step along
the way is so key. You don't wait to be
grateful for the large things that come around. And I
(16:46):
remember Jay once said this to me, and it really
stuck in my head. He said, the hard work that
I do is the way I show gratitude for the
things that have come into my life. So putting the
work in every single day for the things that have
already come into my life is showing gratitude and is
also showing that I'm ready and prepared to work for
more things that I want in my life. I thought
(17:07):
that was really beautiful that doing the work is the
form of gratitude to say I'm grateful, and I'm going
to show I'm grateful by continually still putting in the
work every single day. And my last one it would
be make sure you're ready for all the tests that
come to check you are actually ready to receive, because
the test will come to see if you're actually ready
for what you've asked for, whether it's your toxic X
coming back into your life, or temptations from the habits
(17:29):
that you're trying to leave behind. Because you can't just
receive it when you ask for it. You do have
to have little tests along the way to see if
you're really about that life. God's not just going to
give it to you because you ask for it. That's
not real love. Real love is making sure you've got
this before you get this. God will not give you
anything that you cannot handle, whether it's good or bad.
And so to make sure, the universe wants to make
(17:51):
sure that you actually can receive it. You've got the
space for it, you've got the mindset for it, and
so little tests will come your way just before you
probably get.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
The thing you've been wanting.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Okay, So now that I've given you all my warnings
and given you all the small print, and let me
break down the manifesting process to you. And so this
was the best version of the process that I've read.
It breaks it down really well. There's three types of
goals when you're manifesting, not just one. You've got your
breakthrough goals, your result goals, and your process goals. So
(18:20):
the first is breakthrough goals. These are your huge, magnificent
dreams in your life, the epic ones, the game changes.
You know. These are the goals and dreams that make
you light up when you think or talk about them,
the ones that excite you and invoke the feeling of
hope in you. In this process, when you're thinking about
those big goals, the why is really important. The intention
(18:41):
is so important, if not more important than the goal.
There may be multiple wise, some more feel superficial than others,
but you do need to know your deep rooted why,
and it needs to be refined and purified and really
thought about, because if it's not strong enough, then you
will not.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Feel strong enough to get there.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
The why is actually a great indicator for you to
know whether you should even be wanting this goal. So
really breaking that down in your mind, like, what is
the reason I want to do this? Is it because
I want to prove something to someone that may not
be a big enough Why is it because I want
to help people that may be an amazing Why is
it because I want to change the lives of these people?
(19:21):
Is it because I want to do better for myself
and I want to be better for other people? Whatever
the goal is, know that it has to be big
enough and deep enough, and usually has to involve some
sort of service to somebody else, a benefit to somebody
else to really make it a solid goal.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
That's what I found in my life.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Especially if it's just just benefiting me, yeah, of course
I might make it happen. But if it's something that
I think is going to benefit other people and me,
it just changes the goal to something bigger and better
and helps you to stick to it more. The more
positive outcomes that you can link to your goal, the
more likely you will be to follow through. Now, the
second that I said result goals, So you should write
(20:03):
down these for yourself. Right now, we're just kind of
going through it, but really you should write down these
three goals and then work your way through them yourself
because you'll need a lot more time than this. So
the first one being the breakthrough goal, So that's your
big goal that we just spoke about. Okay, So the
second one we've already spoken.
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Abound breakthrough goals.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Now that is your largest goal, like the end goal,
essentially it's the endgame. This second part of manifestation is
doing your result goals. Now, they are the milestones towards
your breakthrough goals. So for example, let's say you want
financial freedom, that is your breakthrough goal. Your result goal
would put a number and a date on it. It's
(20:40):
where you take your big dream and you turn into
actual achievable goals. It's still big ones along the way,
but it becomes more specific with numbers, timelines, and actual outcomes.
They're the milestones between where you are now and where
you want to go. So it's all the big steps
that you're going to achieve, that you're going to tick
off that you know will allow you to get to
(21:01):
your end goal. These goals are actually so important because
they give you an actual feeling of accomplishment. They also
talk directly into your beliefs, showing your subconscious that it
is actually possible. The little goals always feel way more
achievable than the big, overpowering ones. So when you make
your manifestation goals time bound, So when you put like
a time frame on something, it forces your subconscious mind
(21:24):
to start figuring out ways to achieve them. I'll begin
to point out your new opportunities or avenues and will
lead you to your desired outcome. So similar to what
I said about writing your goals down before, when you
end up putting specifics to things, it puts an urgency
to it, right like when you have a time limb
on something naturally you know that you need to pay
attention and focus and not get distracted, and so it's
(21:47):
similar in that way when you end up having goals
and time frames and checklists. One pushes you to do
things faster, but also make sure that you don't go
off track and go on to another path. And the
last one is your process goals.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
So you've had your breakthrough goals, your.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Result goals, and now we have our process goals, and
so they're really getting smaller and smaller with each category
with each step, So the last one being your process goals.
These are the daily actions and steps, all inspired obviously
by your breakthrough goal, but they are the tiny steps,
the little movements in between that get you to both
your result goals and eventually the breakthrough goal. These are
(22:24):
probably the most important, but the most overlooked. These are
the steps that will help you to see if one
you're really ready for the grind, and two there'll be
the steps that keep momentum.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
They're the steps that.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Really give you the boosts that you need to keep going,
because completing things make you feel like things are possible,
even if it's the first two steps or two months
on a two year plan. Progress and movement towards a goal,
and checking things off creates this positive feedback loop that
in turn pushes you towards the next step and the
next So these are really the everyday things that you're
going to do to get you to your result goals,
(22:57):
and then your result goals are the grander thing that
you're going to do to get you to your ultimate
breakthrough goal. So what I recommend is you writing down
those three steps and filling them out. This may take
you days, it may take you weeks, it may take
you months. You're thinking about your entire life and deciding
what is it that I want to do and achieve
in my life. And so it doesn't even have to
be a lifelong plan, by the way, These can be
(23:19):
for specific things that you want to do over the
next two years, over the next three years, over the
next year. This can really help you to map out
and encourage you to just start thinking and dreaming bigger.
And I think that's a big part of it, you know.
It's just when you end up planning your life, you
feel like you've got a direction. And sometimes when we
feel lost in life, it's not because nothing's going right
for us. It's because we haven't sat down to think
(23:40):
what it is we actually want, and this process can
really help us to figure those things out. This last
step I've added myself because I really think it's crucial
to success in this whole process, and this is cleaning out.
We're cleaning out to let the new and improved in.
So physically we have to do this.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
What does that mean?
Speaker 1 (24:00):
It's what is physically limiting you, What is in your
external environment that's preventing you from reaching your goal. It
may be people, it may be things in your home,
it may maybe parts of your daily routine. Find those
and do a spring clean to maximize your chances of success.
So really, what you're saying to yourself is what in
my day is pushing me towards the goal and what's
(24:20):
taking me away and making sure that the balance is
right there. Mentally, we're getting rid of limiting beliefs. We
don't have space for them anymore. We're not doing it anymore.
Limiting beliefs are counterproductive to manifesting. They're literally doing the
opposite thing. If you're trying to manifest something better, but
you're still telling yourself that you're not good enough to
get there. You're just sending mixed signals. It's like telling
someone that you want to be with them, but also
(24:41):
telling them that they're.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Just not good enough for you. That's is so toxic.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
So during this process, search for your limiting beliefs and
get them onto paper and reframe them to be positive.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
For example, if you're saying.
Speaker 1 (24:54):
I'm incomplete without a man in my life or a
woman in my life, change that to I'm complete as
I am. Or if you're thinking I'm not smart enough,
change that to I'm an intelligent, badass human who is
capable of anything and everything. That's my own one, but
I'm going to loan it over to you because it's
a great one. So now, over the years of manifesting
things in my life, whether I realize in hindsight or
(25:14):
whether I've consciously done it, I've noticed more and more
that one thing that is necessary alongside manifesting is surrender.
I think it has to come hand in hand. So
many times I've asked for things and they've manifested in
my life, only for me to realize it's not really
what I needed in my life. It may have been
what I wanted, but was it really what I needed?
Speaker 2 (25:35):
For my growth.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
I've come to the conclusion that because of our limited
vision and this ability not to see like a bird's
eye view of our life, we might not really know
what we need or what's good or bad for us.
So now, instead of trying to think of specific goals
or specific things that I want in my life, I
pray this one prayer and I believe that it will
bring me everything that I need in my life that's
(25:56):
going to benefit me to grow in every part of
my life, professionally, personally, spiritually, emotionally, and I say, just
give me what I need to purify my mind and
my intentions, to serve others to my best ability, to
give to others the best way I can, and to
bring me closer to You God, or closer to living
with authenticity and integrity. However I get there, really only
(26:20):
you know, but I'm prepared to do the work on
the journey there, and honestly, being able to have that
in my mind, more so than a specific goal, has
been the most powerful, more so than manifesting something professionally
or personally or financially. Really and truly, the most content
I felt is when I've had that prayer in my
life more than anything else, And so really, I think
(26:43):
that this is just a really great practice, like manifesting
is a great practice to connect deeper to yourself, to
understand yourself, better, understand your dreams, your desires, and connect
to something more than you believe in, bigger and better,
believing in God, believing in the universe. It's a practice
to surrender and also know that I'm going to put
in the work. But what the result is I can't
(27:03):
attach myself to and it makes you remain hopeful and
excited in life. And if a process is offering all
of that to you, it feels like a pretty magical
and wonderful thing to do. So I guess I'll end
with saying why not why not try it? If it
has the possibility of doing all those things for you,
and on top of that the bonus of possibly making
your wildest dreams of reality, why not give it a go.
(27:25):
Thank you so much for listening to a really good cry.
I hope this episode was useful. Let me know if
you give these tips a go or if you found
it informative and sending you all so much stuff
