Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey, everyone, welcome back to Batch and Happy Hour.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I'm Joe and I'm Serena, and we are here.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
With the Happy couple. Joey and Kelsey are here. Welcome well, Joey,
welcome again, Kelsey. This is our first time having you,
so welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
Thank you so much. I'm so excited.

Speaker 5 (00:19):
Yeah, this is good.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah, how you guys feel? You guys feeling good? Everything's good?
You're happy? You're still in love or do you hate
each other yet?

Speaker 4 (00:30):
So I am so happy. I'm just so excited to
be able to, you know, flaw our love and show
everybody how happy we are.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Yeah, it's been a long time.

Speaker 6 (00:39):
These are always some of my favorite interviews of the
season because we've obviously been in your shoes as a
couple that like met on the show and had to
do the whole like keep it on the downlow situation
for a bunch of months. So I feel like it's
always fun for us to be like one of the
first people to talk to you guys after it's all
out and you can and finally be together and announce

(01:02):
that you're in a relationship, Like, how does it feel?

Speaker 5 (01:05):
I mean, it feels great.

Speaker 7 (01:06):
We as you said, you know what it's like to
be waiting and you just you look forward to this moment,
you like picture it. But now that it's finally here,
I always say, it's just it feels like.

Speaker 5 (01:14):
It's like a weight off your shoulders.

Speaker 7 (01:15):
So we finally get the ability to be a normal couple,
enjoy the small things, the things that we've been looking forward.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
To, even just riding the same car, Like we're just
excited for like the little things especially.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, we were we were in Toronto and we just
like we went to we just went to like some
random bar and sat outside and had bears and like
appetizers and it was awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
A luxury.

Speaker 6 (01:38):
It feels like so luxurious to do like anything together afterwards.
So yeah, but we'll get into all of your exciting
future plans and what you're gonna do now that you're
out and about a little later because we have so
much to break down in this episode, so much to unpack.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Joe, where do you want to start?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Kelsey, because you haven't been on this podcast.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Let's start with your chat with Leslie, because we were
watching that and we were kind of like, oh no,
like this is kind of she might get a little
freaked out from this. So how was that conversation for you?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
In that moment?

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I think Leslie was just trying to give me advice
from where she was coming from, with her experience on
her side of things. I took it with a grain
of salt. There's obviously was more to the conversation, but
people always focus on the negative. But Leslie and I
had a great conversation. We talked about going through similar
life experiences, and she gave me a lot of great advice.

(02:36):
But yeah, I just took it with a grain of salt.
Where she was saying to, you know, guard your heart,
which I mean I kind of was to an extent
through this process. You know, I was very optimistic, but
I never felt like I was guaranteed anything. And that's
how I continued to go through it regardless of, you know,
what she was telling me. I just kind of kept

(02:56):
going how I was.

Speaker 6 (02:58):
Do you think that her words and warnings changed how
you felt or pro situation at all? Like, do you
think it did kind of send you into a bit
of a panic or do you think that anxiety was
already there?

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yeah, I think that the closer you get towards the end,
and you feel all those real feelings, you're going to
be anxious regardless. So with that conversation or not, I
think that I was going to be nervous going into
the final, the final little stint of it all.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
How was that for you watching the conversation, Joey, Because
I feel like, I mean, we love Leslie, but when
we were watching it being like, no.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Leslie, you're going to scare her. I mean obviously, like
you said, we only see a little bit.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
But yeah, I think she explained it well.

Speaker 7 (03:40):
It was more like Leslie was trying to explain where
she was coming from. We did have more talks about that,
not only during our dinner but also through overnights, Like
we talked through it. It definitely heightened her feelings of
where she was at. But I also think it was
important because you have to go through that point of
also thinking like, Okay, there is doubt, but does that
still make me want to push forward?

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Like is there something that I want to fight for
even though I have this doubt?

Speaker 7 (04:04):
And I think that's probably what I look at is
the positive that it brought out was she did feel
the doubt, she did realize what the position she was in.

Speaker 5 (04:11):
But knew there was something stronger to like fight for
to get to the end. And I think that's what
kind of made us stronger through it. And Leslie did
the right thing, like it's a tough.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
Position to be in, oh one hundred percent, And I
mean we saw her journey, so I think the viewers
can understand where she's coming from. And I also think
that that's a great way to look at it, Joey,
like she maybe was feeling fear in doubt, but Kelsey,
you obviously cared enough to push through that and not
let it scare you away.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Right, It's important to be realistic.

Speaker 7 (04:38):
I think Leslie tried to make sure she was being
realistic because she even said that she'd maybe lost that
through her whole entire journey, which again is totally understandable.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Kelsey. Let's let's see the ring. Could you show us
the ring?

Speaker 6 (04:50):
Yeah, it's a little it's so sprightly, I'm blinded. Oh
my god, it's beautiful.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Great.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Did you say what you wanted at all?

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I did.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
I said, like certain qualities, like I wanted an emerald cut.
I wanted it to be more simple, things like that.
So whenever he opened it up, I was like.

Speaker 7 (05:10):
Yeah, there was a little I love it because she
does like gold, and there was only like one gold option,
but like I knew platinum was like I knew platinum
would work, and I knew the emerald cut was more
important because.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
She wanted like a longer cut.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
So there was a moment I was like, I really
hope I'm not picking the wrong one. But when she
saw it, she literally showed me later on a picture
that she showed to a producer of like exactly what
she wanted and it even had like the exact emeral cut,
the two half moves on the side, like it was
almost the exact same rate.

Speaker 5 (05:41):
It was a little, I think a little bigger. I
think it was the one that we got.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
So, yeah, that's amazing. I love that. It's beautiful.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
It's so fautiful. No, I'm obsessed with it. And also
like I mix, I mix metals, like I'll do silver
and gold, so you know, I could just do a
gold wedding band, so we'll be good.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
There you go, get it dipped too. I think I
think my mom did that.

Speaker 6 (06:03):
She had like a yellow gold ring for forever and
for their like fifteen year anniversary whatever she got it
dipped in white gold.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Joey, you expressed during the season, like your biggest fear is,
you know, getting falling for someone who then doesn't get there.
When Kelsey walked out, were those fears gone or were
you still Were you still nervous or did you think
she was going to hit you up with another Uh?

(06:32):
We we need to talk, which I don't know, Kelsey.
I don't know what that was about.

Speaker 5 (06:41):
No, I think I think it was a mix of emotions.

Speaker 7 (06:43):
I would say that I still had that like, wow,
is this going to be it?

Speaker 5 (06:47):
But I was confident. Our last night that we had
together was so great. I was more.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
I was now in a different position because I was
reassuring her a lot through that time. So I was
trying to stay short and confident, like this is here,
if you want this to be here, I wanted to
be here. So yeah, there's a lot of emotions on
that last day, but I was confident. But I think
any guy, as soon as they get that one one,
he has that like thought in the back of the head,
like is she gonna say yes? So I sure did

(07:14):
that for a second. But yeah, we were in a
good spot that moment, so I felt.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Good, Joe, did you have that thought?

Speaker 1 (07:22):
Oh yeah, of course, yeah I was. I really had
that thought.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
But well, Joe genuinely actually did enough.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
I was gonna say, yeah, I truly didn't know. Kelsey.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
How about how about you walking out onto that platform? Like,
how surreal is that moment? I mean, you come on
this show and like you're there, You're there at the end.

Speaker 4 (07:43):
Yeah, it was very surreal. I was telling all my
friends going on that, I was like, you know, I
might be back next week, guys. I was like, don't worry, Like,
I'll probably be right back. I came on just thinking,
if anything, would be a really cool life experience. But
I was open to the process, and I mean, it
worked out perfectly for me, and I'm just really happy

(08:03):
where we are. It's funny whenever I was actually walking
up to Joey at the end, I couldn't find him.
I was looking everywhere. I was like, where is he?

Speaker 7 (08:11):
Like that actually was why I had some doubt because
she wasn't looking at me, so I was like, this is.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Going to be bad.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
All of a sudden, I couldn't find him. Finally I
found him.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
I had they had a whole.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
Route for She's like turning backwards, joys again, She's leaving me,
It's over.

Speaker 5 (08:29):
He just kept looking straight at like the production town.

Speaker 7 (08:32):
I was like, it's something about to happen, Like I
don't even know what's going on going.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
You found him?

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Thank God him, so that I would say, I mean,
this is one of the first times I think we've
ever seen this on a season. But Daisy does come
to you Kelsey and basically says like, I don't think
he's gonna pick me, so like I'm I'm done. Is

(09:02):
there was there a part of you that kind of
wishes she didn't do that. Do you feel like that
might have spoiled the moment for you?

Speaker 4 (09:11):
I mean I think that I went back and forth
at the very beginning of like, oh you know, I
really I don't know, like did I did I want that?
Did I not? But at the end of the day,
like it's what happened, and I know that she had
really good intent, and you know, I think that it
did take a little bit of the stress off my
shoulders going in. So I do appreciate Daisy and I

(09:31):
think that she's a wonderful woman.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
So okay, nice, nice, Yeah, I don't know if I
would have liked that.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
But now, how was.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
The car ride?

Speaker 4 (09:43):
It looked really awkward and it wasn't as awkward as
it looked, like.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I'm happy to hear that.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
I was like, what is up with close handles? Like
for in the car?

Speaker 6 (09:55):
Well, I was also like, I wonder how long this
car ride is, Like, I mean, if it's like three minutes,
that's one thing. If they're the car for two hours
just sitting like this in silence, like I did.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
Feel like a long car ride because I mean, I
think we're all just nervous for the end.

Speaker 7 (10:08):
That was the craziest thing for me. She told me
after when we were leaving. She was like, you know,
me and Daisy rode in the car together.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
It's like what we saw. He didn't know we talked before,
he didn't know any of that.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
Yeah, so all that was a surprise for me to
finally see two and for her to tell me about.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Nice Oh yeah, that's so true.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
So watching it all back, were you too supportive of
each other? And how I guess how difficult was watching
the entire season back?

Speaker 5 (10:40):
You can speak on that first. What are your thoughts
were on.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Yeah, honestly, I had my own method where I toward
the first like two episodes or so, like, I watched
all of it, but the more it went on, I
would put in my headphones, I'd scroll on my phone
during other people's one on ones or like other intimate moments.
I just was like, I don't need to see this
because this was this is like not what it is now.

(11:05):
So I just kind of would ignore a lot of
it and just focus on our moments. But there were
like parts where they were harder for me to watch,
but Joey was always so supportive and understanding throughout it all.
So props to Joey for, you know, helping me go
through all of this.

Speaker 7 (11:20):
Yeah, I think for me, And the part is is,
like I did through this entire season, always try to
think through like, Okay, your wife is going to be
watching this back someday, like let's try your best to
make sure your words have purpose, the actions you can
look back on and Lisa explain. But there's still moments
you walk through and watch you're like, god, this has
got to be so hard for her. So I tried

(11:40):
as much as possible to watch it through her eyes,
to preper as much as I could. When I saw
things I think the biggest thing for us is it
wasn't as tough as it could have been because I
tried to be as open about the communication explain everything
as possible, because yeah, I want this to be a
great experience, but as everyone knows that goes through it,
it is tough to navigate through some of this and
no one should have to watch where she had to watch,

(12:01):
and I feel for her through that, But we kept
focusing on like where we're at now, and that's really
what's most important.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, was there anything that you were like the most
nervous to watch or anything you considered being like, I'm
just not going to watch those parts.

Speaker 4 (12:15):
I didn't really watch Fantasy Suites. I also didn't really
watch Hometowns. But I mean, obviously, like afterwards, you see
like social media going crazy about it all, so that
I think obviously the hardest part for me was seeing
everybody talking about it afterwards not even watching it. Usually,
even if I watched like the whole episode, I didn't

(12:36):
feel any type of way, just because I knew the
connection that we had, even if it wasn't fully shown,
I felt really confident watching it. In the aftermath of
like everybody else's thoughts on it was I think what
really affected me more.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
Oh so, I mean, like I understand, but just I.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Just think that, you know, certain people really like certain
women and then they you know, want those women to
be with Joe. And it was kind of hard for
me because I was like.

Speaker 5 (13:02):
You know, it's.

Speaker 7 (13:05):
Also like they take like the smallest information and then
they create their own storyline that was it, Like they
made they came up with ideas or came up with
storylines that were not true, but they just had this
little thing and like, well that had to happen then,
and she's like, no, this happened.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
But you can't really control other people's opinion.

Speaker 7 (13:22):
And I think in general this whole season, we felt
like a lot of people were invested, like they enjoyed it.
So because of that, they have these theories, they have
these storylines they create, and they go down this whole
tangent where we're like, well, the truth is this, and
we want people to know that, but it came with
time and we're just happy that we're obviously here now.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Yeah, And I think that I just kind of have
found my own way of pushing that, you know, to
the side and being like this is what is real
and this is what I can focus on.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Well, the good thing now and I can speak from experience,
is like it it seems so heavy in the moment
and it's like all consuming when it's happening, but like
all that's basic, it's all in the past, and like
everyone's going to want to celebrate you guys and your future.
So kind of know that and do you got what

(14:09):
are your guys plans? Like, what's what's living situation looking?

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Like?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
What are we doing?

Speaker 7 (14:13):
So the plan initially, I've obviously been just staying at
my sister's place, so I'm the one that's moving right now.
I'm going to New Orleans for a little bit. We're
gonna be there for the beginning part of summer. But
the end goal is we want to get to New York.

Speaker 6 (14:26):
So we're gonna be no way that's amazing.

Speaker 7 (14:31):
I think probably sometime and like we're thinking July or
August is when we're trying to get there because she's
finishing up her lease. But New York City is one
hundred percent of move We're excited about it.

Speaker 6 (14:40):
Well, if you have any questions about areas or anything
like that, we're here and you guys have flows know
when you come, we'll go out for dinner or something.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Going through this, did you guys reach out to any
like Veachter Nation couples that.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Basically went through the same thing it were successful.

Speaker 4 (15:04):
Yeah. So I've spoke with Dotton and also Katie and
they both have just been so helpful throughout all of this,
and you know, helping me through all the phases because
they understand on this side of things. But Donton uh
pretty much told me like, just go through it as
no refunds, and that's how we've been going through, is
that we can just get through anything. And I thought

(15:24):
that was some really great advice.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
They were great, and Charity have doctor.

Speaker 7 (15:27):
I've talked to Zach quite a bit and obviously got
her connected with Katie too. I just think like it's
been great that we've had two successful couples in a
row in the last seasons and they've had their own
share of problems and just been so open to understand
our experience how it's different, but also connect and everyone's
been great.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
And I've gotten to talk to like.

Speaker 7 (15:46):
Ben Higgins as an old lead too with a lot
of other stuff. But we've had nothing but support from
all of Bachelor Nation, which has been amazing.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah nice, nice, right, Speaking of uh know, Bachelor Nation
and fans, Kelsey, I know they really.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
Like your dad.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
I've seen a lot of tweets and comments about your dad.

Speaker 6 (16:12):
Even like people I know that watch the show are like,
oh my god, Kelsey's dad is such a fox. Like
I like, do you think, like, like how long? How
young do you think he date?

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Like, well, you think he would? I mean, they're they're
doing a Golden Bachelorette. Do you think he would do it?

Speaker 4 (16:30):
You know, I have talked to him about it a
little bit. I would love to see my dad open
up in that setting. I think that it would be
really great for him, and I think it would be
really fun for me and my siblings to even learn
more about him. But yeah, I would love to see
him open up to that.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
I know.

Speaker 4 (16:45):
My mom always said that if she passed before him,
that she wanted him to find love again. So, you know,
I just think that he might need a little push.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
How old is your dad?

Speaker 7 (16:55):
I'll say from experience too, Mark's even better in person,
Like it's crazy, it's will love him through the camera,
But that guy has a presence when he talked to
him in person.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
So you got to be sixty.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
Okay, So he's like, I think the cutoff for last
season the youngest person was sixty, and he's like just
sliding in there, and then I.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
Could March March is oh wait no, yeah, that's perfect.
Wait no, wait me sorry, March my brother. My brother's
birthday is in March.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Okay. What advice going through this? If let's say he
did get on, what advice Kelsey, would you give.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
Him just to be himself and to open up, because
I think that it can be nerve wracking, you know,
all the cameras and all these new people and trying
to open up in a weird and you know, I'm
abnormal setting. But I don't know. I don't I think
that my dad has been through so much in his
life that he tackle it like so easily. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
Nice, Okay, So, Kelsey, I know when you met Joey's
family and you guys discussed timeline in marriage.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Have you two talked about that more?

Speaker 4 (18:05):
Yeah? I think that we both have talked about it
in the sense of we would like a longer engagement.
We don't want to feel stressed, hurring up and planning
a big wedding or whatever it is. I think that
we also need to figure out where we even want
to have it because we both live in different places
or from different places. But yeah, we just talked about
the fact that we would like a longer engagement focused

(18:26):
on us right now and then start planning, and we
don't want too much stress.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
Or anything with that, no rush.

Speaker 7 (18:32):
We both feel like we're in a great spot to
enjoy this engagement and yeah, none of us are on
the timeline that we feel like we need to be rushing.
But the cool part is if we have a longer engagement,
that also gives us more time to plan and think
through a lot of the fun things, because we both
admitted we don't really even have an idea of what
our wedding would look like yet, like we haven't thought
through that much.

Speaker 5 (18:51):
So we have time and we're excited for it.

Speaker 3 (18:54):
Yeah, I think that's healthy, honestly, just move in together. First,
move in together, and then and then see where that goes.

Speaker 7 (19:00):
Kind of like when you do this, like we're starting
dating all over again. So that's what we're focusing on.
We want to strengthen this relationship to however strong it
already feels, but make it even better.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
So that's our focus for now, and we have time
for the rest.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Any any travel plans coming up, He's gonna go anywhere celebrate.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
Yeah, we do have a few.

Speaker 7 (19:20):
We found out that we have a lot of weddings
we got invited to this year, so that's that's part
of it as well. I've got a couple of buddies
that are getting married. One of the cool places. One
of my buddies is getting married in Portugal, so we're
gonna be heading out there, which should be really fun.
We're actually gonna go to back to Hawaii because I
wanted to show her around. But the cool thing is
we're jumping on a trip with Zach and Katie as well,

(19:40):
so that one.

Speaker 5 (19:41):
Will be in May, so we'll go to Kawai.

Speaker 7 (19:43):
We have Portugal and then a few other different going
around the States and different things that we have coming up.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
This should be fun.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
Oh nice. Have you guys met Zach and Katy in
person yet?

Speaker 5 (19:52):
He hasn't.

Speaker 7 (19:53):
I've seen that obviously, but she's she's been behind closed doors.

Speaker 4 (19:57):
I've only been facetiming Katie. But she's awesome and I
can't wait to hang out with her in person.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Yeah, I know they're great. You guys are gonna have
so much fun.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Kelsey, How about the girls on your season?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (20:14):
Are you still? Who are you? Who are you close with?

Speaker 4 (20:17):
Yeah? I'm really close with Lexi, also Caitlin and Medina.
I would say that there are my three closest friends
from the season. But I feel like I got pretty
close with all of the girls. I think that there
was I don't know, just so many amazing women. They
all had such big stories and even some of the
girls from the earlier like you know episodes like Star

(20:39):
and Samantha who went home Night one, Like, I don't know,
they were all just really great girls. We had a good,
a good bunch this season.

Speaker 3 (20:47):
Nice and how how did you get on the show?

Speaker 4 (20:52):
So I applied myself. It was like a couple months
after my last relationship, and my friend had applied me
the last relationship I had got out of. So I
was like, you know what, let me just apply. I
didn't think I was getting her back. Oh and then
I just started hearing back, and I started doing more
and more interviews, and then you know, I got on

(21:15):
and I was like I can't wait to meet this guy.

Speaker 5 (21:17):
I was making a joke when she first told me
she applied herself. I was like, that's a red flack.
I don't know, I don't know about this one anymore.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
But she was.

Speaker 7 (21:25):
She was saying the same thing, like how she that's
what she does when she got on a relationship and
she was in a good spot. So we joked about it,
but I thought it was funny that she applied herself too.

Speaker 4 (21:33):
Yeah, I was like, I genuinely did not expect to
hear back like I flew through like the thing. Honestly,
I didn't. I don't think that I like went super
in depth about a lot of things. But then the interviews,
we just talked more and more with you know, everybody,
and it went great.

Speaker 6 (21:49):
It's so funny because honestly I applied myself too. I
mean like I had a lot of Yeah, I had
a lot of like external pressure for my mom and
my sister to do so, but like I was just
out of a relationship chip a few months prior it
was the pandemic, and honestly, I never thought I would
hear back like I did not apply seriously, Like I
don't even know what I put on my application, but

(22:11):
like I always feel like saying that I applied myself.
When it's like oh I got nominated, O, like I
got scouted, I'm like, yeah, no, Like this is I
feel like a red flag.

Speaker 5 (22:20):
But when you guys described like that, it doesn't.

Speaker 7 (22:22):
As soon as she explained it, and if you explained it,
like I wouldn't think of it first year you applied yourself,
like oh, so you're here for followers, Like yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
You freaking club chaser, goes right away.

Speaker 7 (22:33):
But then when you hear it like oh no, you
were just open to it and like this will never happen.

Speaker 6 (22:37):
Yeah yeah, literally, like when you explain it, it makes sense.
But when you're like, yeah, I applied, it's like this feels.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
It saying no.

Speaker 4 (22:46):
Literally, I was like I'm nervous to tell people like
I applied for myself. I was like, I was like,
I'm a little embarrassed, Like I didn't get a DM,
I'm not that cool.

Speaker 3 (22:57):
Joey, what what was your your reaction, your honest reaction
when you first saw Kelsey when she stepped out of
the limo.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
So I was blown away.

Speaker 7 (23:07):
The part is you know how the limbounches are always
different times too.

Speaker 5 (23:11):
She was actually the last one out of the limo.
She was the last person that came up.

Speaker 7 (23:15):
So I was also like after thirty two women, like
it was getting to the point that I was like,
I'm kind of I'm ready to go inside. I'm ready
to give this toast, like I'm ready to get this
thing going. But she walked out and I was like,
oh shit, okay, like we're this is amazing, Like, okay,
this was worth it for thirty two because she was
the last.

Speaker 5 (23:33):
One and I was blown away right away.

Speaker 7 (23:35):
But we always joked too about our first conversation on
night one, like she was so nervous and so kind
of upset.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
I think that I kissed other women.

Speaker 7 (23:43):
Because she heard it through the house and just kind
of you said that you were a little bit.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
I wasn't said that you're kissing the other women. I
just was like, you're not going.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
To kiss me on exactly, So I guess that's what
it was. She was definitely reserved.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I was like, oh, Kelsey, Kelsey, did did you go
in for a kiss at all night one?

Speaker 4 (23:58):
No?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
No, she was saying that.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
She like was like, I don't don't kiss me night one, Like.

Speaker 7 (24:03):
She wasn't like a bad thing, but like if we
were sitting with each other like this, we weren't like this.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
She was like purposely this far away.

Speaker 4 (24:10):
From making a whole lot of eye contact because I
was like, this boy better not coming for a kiss
because I heard ten other girls.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Because well smart, but you play a little hard to get.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
And she did well. She did well.

Speaker 1 (24:22):
I said.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
From the beginning, I was like, Joey, Joey likes these girls,
but I think he loves Kelsey. And I think I
said that I did. I said that night one. I
was like, he's upset.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
You did you said that? You didn't say that night one?

Speaker 1 (24:37):
Well, I might have said at night whatever.

Speaker 7 (24:39):
We also talked about this one too, because I thought
this was so interesting.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
I forget who brought it up.

Speaker 7 (24:46):
One of the producers talked to me about it that said,
you're gonna have your idea of everyone after night one,
but you're gonna go to bed and you're gonna wake
up and someone's gonna be on your mind. You're gonna
have a dream about her or someone you're not gonna
be able to get out of your head. And we
didn't have the best night one because of that like
awkward thing that she was like someone that was on
my mind.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
She's giving you like bad body language.

Speaker 5 (25:05):
I was like, I don't think this girl likes me.
So we had that like whole type of thing.

Speaker 7 (25:08):
But I went to bed and I woke up the
next morning I had a fall on dream about her.
She was the only person on my mind when I
like woke up the next day and I told all
of my team when I was the next day, I
was like, for some reason, this Kelsey girls on my mind.
I think the voodoo doll worked, Like I think it
made it through in my dreams. Like I'm not sure,
but that was the weirdest thing that I could not

(25:29):
wait for that paint Bottle date because she was the
one that, like I couldn't get out of my head,
and then she acted like she liked me on the
paintball date.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
So yeah, oh my god, I have chills. That's so cool.
Good story.

Speaker 7 (25:41):
Yeah, it was definitely different because someone brought it up
and I was like, no, I'm not going to dream
about anyone, but I did.

Speaker 5 (25:46):
She was the person I dreamed.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
About that was it was the voodoo doll. You actually worked.

Speaker 5 (25:52):
Jesus one in her bag the whole time. She never
told me about.

Speaker 3 (25:57):
You got some you got some serious powers here. I'm
always curious about this, DoD.

Speaker 5 (26:03):
Do you.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Like you did say you dreamt about Kelsey, But were
you kind of like she's gonna be here? Like did
was she in your top three?

Speaker 4 (26:13):
Like?

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Were you like she's making it the hometowns.

Speaker 7 (26:16):
I knew before we started traveling that there was no
way she wasn't going to hometowns unless something happened like
we had.

Speaker 5 (26:23):
We had a.

Speaker 7 (26:24):
Great first date at the paint Battle, but the missus
right date when she got the group date, Rose was
kind of like, unless something goes terribly wrong, unless I'm
missing something, there's just no doubt that we're getting to
the point that we're going to see how far this
can go.

Speaker 5 (26:39):
So I knew very early on where she was at.

Speaker 7 (26:42):
But then I also know how crazy this whole experience is,
and you have to like keep your mind open and
understand that she could not be as invested as I was.
But I think you see through a lot of interviews
throughout the season too, like I was questioning if she
was invested. It wasn't ever if I was invested. She
did play a good hard to get and try as
much she could like hold things on her sleeve.

Speaker 6 (27:02):
So I think I did say like after you guys
first day, and I was like, I think like either
like Joey's like a little more invested in Kelsey than Kelsey,
isn't Joey. I was like, I'm sure that's not the case,
but like she's playing hard to.

Speaker 5 (27:15):
Get or what.

Speaker 6 (27:16):
But I was like, he's definitely got like the hard
eyes on for her, and I feel like she's like,
we'll see.

Speaker 7 (27:22):
I said, I didn't know you actually liked me until
at the end of Rocket, like even during the day.
It was like when we left that night and we
were like before we left, I was like, okay, like
she actually does like me now, But.

Speaker 5 (27:33):
Yeah, I was worried.

Speaker 7 (27:34):
I didn't know because she was trying so hard to
like hold it in, I guess.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
But well, I was.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
About talking about a lot of things I want my
mom to be brought up, and I wanted that conversation
to have its time, So I think that that was
like part of me like holding back a little bit.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Yeah, well, Kelsey, I want to know if you if
you felt that from Joey. But we will, uh, we'll
lead off with that question for part two. So everyone
please stay tuned for the second part of Joey and
Kelsey because we are going to get more into their
relationship and ask them more questions. And thank you guys

(28:10):
so much for tuning in, and make sure you catch
part two of this coming up tomorrow because we can't
waste any more time.
